Alcatraz Tours

Alcatraz Penitentiary was truly "The Rock," where America sent the worst of the worst criminals from 1934-1966.

Public enemies like Scarface Al Capone, Machine Gun Kelly, Creepy Karpis, and the Birdman (Robert Stroud) all learned this first hand. People on the outside have always been fascinated with Alcatraz. Visitors peered at Alcatraz through telescopes when the prisoners were there, and ever since it was opened to tours, thousands of visitors have come every year.

San Francisco Comprehensive Shuttle Tours can get Alcatraz Tickets sometimes even at last minute, and we can arrange these for guests who buy our 5 our Premium City Tour (9am).

Must See & Do in San Francisco

Take the san francisco city tour.

san francisco tour company

Look for SF city tours that offer more stops and visit more than the most known landmarks in San Francisco. We recommend the SF Premium City Tour with Ferry!

Visit the Wine Country - Don't drive your first time!

san francisco tour company

We don't recommend drinking and driving thus, we don't recommend renting a car to go to Napa or Sonoma. Go on a bus tour from San Francisco that visits great wineries and has lots of variety during the tour.

Don't Miss The Redwoods - Go to Muir Woods!

san francisco tour company

So many people come to San Francisco and fail to visit the Giant California Sequioa Coastal Redwoods at Muir Woods National Park. We highly recommend this even over Alcatraz Island. Find a bus tour that uses smaller shuttles and visits other surrounding areas in Marin along with Muir Woods.

Go to Yosemite by Train instead of Car or Bus

san francisco tour company

The Yosemite Park Train Tour from San Francisco or Sacramento rocks! It's the coolest way to get to Yosemite. We highly consider you investigate the train tour versus a regular old bus tour to Yosemite.

“San Francisco is 49 square miles surrounded by reality.” – Paul Kanter.

Best of all, enjoy surprise extras, and useful recommendations on how/where to eat, travel, shop, and explore, like a native San Franciscan.

Learn the history, the current affairs, and the unique legends, that give this Beautiful City by the Bay it’s offbeat character.

The Nearly-Private Golden Gate Bridge Tour

Nearly-Private San Francisco Tours

The Nearly-Private Golden Gate Bridge Tour  is a two-hour round trip, led and narrated by an SF native, across the most-photographed bridge in the world. It all begins with a pick-up at San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf. From there you’ll be shuttled to the famous bridge, passing some notable SF sites on the way:  Pier 39, Ghirardelli Square, The Presidio (Home to Lucasfilm, The Walt Disney Family Museum and the Golden Gate National Cemetery), before crossing the Golden Gate Bridge and making a stop at the North Vista Point.

Once you’ve arrived at the scenic north side, you’ll have the opportunity to cross the bridge on foot to the south side, or (after a short photo/restroom break) ride back across to explore the visitor center and coffee shop, before passing the Palace of Fine Arts as we return directly to  Fisherman’s Wharf. This is the perfect trip for those who want to make the most of their morning, or are on a tight schedule.

“The mystical structure, with its perfect amalgam of delicacy and power, exerts an uncanny effect. Its efficiency cannot conceal the artistry. There is heart there, and soul. It is an object to be contemplated for hours.” – Herb Caen”

“To this Gate I give the name of ‘Chrysopylae,’ or Golden Gate, for the same reason that the harbor of Byzantium was called ‘Chrysoceras,’ or Golden Horn.” – Capt. John C. Fremont
