15 Best Travel Trailers With A King-Size Bed

Travel Trailer With King Size Bed

Sharing is caring!

It’s funny how meaningful travel trailers with a king-size beds are. Finding a perfectly sized RV with a gigantic mattress is often so challenging. Who doesn’t love an enormous bed? Especially those who have to fight their significant others for a scrap of space on the edge or accommodate the family dog.

Whether you have a large family, are a couple just starting off, or are long-term RVers, our list of travel trailers with King sized beds should cover everyone wanting a king-size bed. Whether you have dogs or you just like to sleep diagonally, this article is just for you.

15 Best Travel Trailers With King Beds

1. cherokee wolf pack gold series toy hauler 23gold15.

Cherokee Wolf Pack Gold Series Toy Hauler 23GOLD15 Exterior

Our Pros and Cons

✅Dual-roll-over sofas in the garage beneath a rising bunk

⛔Bathroom cabinetry isn’t very deep

  • Length: 33′ 5″
  • UVW: 6,806 lbs
  • GVWR: 11,352 lbs
  • CCC: 4,546 lbs
  • Tongue Weight: 1,152 lbs

It’s not often you get to see toy hauler travel trailers with a king-size bed. The garage space takes up a lot of space, with the rest of the RV subject to the constraints of what’s left over. However, the Cherokee 23GOLD15 is an example of how a king bed can be successfully added to a toy hauler RV.

This Gold-Series Cherokee toy hauler also has 15 feet of garage space, a rear canvas screen, and a patio deck railing system for a party patio conversion. The forced air-heated underbelly creates a layer of heat that will prevent the cold from seeping up into the king-size bed, which will help keep you warm on those cold nights.

No concessions were made in the bathroom either, and it’s as sizeable as many of the larger RV bathrooms with a surprisingly large shower. Speaking of showers, if you need to wash the mud off your boots after parking the four-wheeler in the garage space, there’s an exterior ‘garden shower’ as well.

2. Coachmen Freedom Express Ultra Lite 259FKDS

Coachmen Freedom Express Ultra Lite 259FKDS Exterior

✅ The front kitchen has plenty of counterwork space

⛔ The elbow room on the commode may be tight for some

  • Length: 29′ 10″
  • UVW: 6,494 lbs
  • GVWR: 9,000 lbs
  • CCC: 2,506 lbs
  • Tongue Weight: 752 lbs

Sub-30-foot travel trailers with a king-size bed aren’t common, and the Coachmen Freedom Express Ultra Lite 259FKDS pulls it off in style. It makes sense to place the kitchen up front, naturally flowing into the dining and entertainment areas, making the living room large. There’s even room to walk around the king, with even more space for a TV shelf, two large wards, and overhead compartments.

In fact, Coachmen is known for being meticulous and unique about their storage placement, and there’s hardly a place on the RV where there isn’t some kind of storage space. With over 2,500 lbs of cargo carrying capacity, you definitely have the freedom to store a ton of stuff.

The exterior features a ‘full camp kitchen’ with an 18′ awning, rear storage, and front pass-through storage. There’s a reason that the Coachmen Freedom Express series is extremely popular in the RV market, and it’s not all about the storage capabilities.

3. Cruiser RV Radiance R-25BH

Cruiser RV Radiance R-25BH Exterior

✅Double over double rear bunks

⛔ The pull chords on the windows are a little aggravating

  • Length: 29′ 11″
  • UVW: 5,727 lbs
  • GVWR: 7,736 lbs
  • CCC: 1,961 lbs
  • Tongue Weight: 736 lbs
  • Sleep: 7 to 8

The Cruiser RV Radiance R-25BH is known for its luxurious features at an affordable price. The fact that it’s one of the travel trailers with a king-size bed on our list means it’s already halfway there. The tri-tone, gloss-dipped, Azdel sidewalls, plywood floor, and aluminum roof make for a sealed, highly durable environment. As another sub-30-foot travel trailer with a king bed, this Cruiser takes it to the next level with a sliding king bed feature.

They already accomplished much through maximizing space and cramming in a king. However, Cruiser installed a patent-pending king bed slideout to exploit the master bedroom’s space fully. They also went with plywood flooring over the OSB material, improving the impact and vibration resistance of the rig.

The Fully open Belly feature frees up more space on the interior by providing their RVers with a viable and large storage option in the underbelly of the RV (which his also heated). Pretty nifty. The dual-ducted air conditioning is highly convenient for simpler temperature control.

4. Flagstaff Classic 832RKSB

Flagstaff Classic 832RKSB Exterior

✅Perfectly situated entertainment/TV setup

⛔Glossy, exterior grill is a dust magnet

  • Length: 36′ 8″
  • UVW: 9,444 lbs
  • GVWR: 11,130 lbs
  • CCC: 1,686 lbs
  • Tongue Weight: 1,130 lbs

The Flagstaff Classic 832RKSB is the perfect travel trailer for couples living the full-time RVer lifestyle. The kitchen in the rear is incredibly spacious, with the ideal theater seating and entertainment center setup for evening leisure time. It helps that two of the three slides are in the rear and directly opposite each other.

Thanks to the forward slide-out, you get a large, king-size bed in the master bedroom, with enough additional space for a washer/dryer combo, a dresser, and a sizeable wardrobe. The dual-access bathroom is also fairly spacious and includes a linen closet.

In addition to the excellent interior space, there are plenty of reasons to enjoy the outdoors as well, with a nice outside kitchen, an adjacent slide-out grill, and two awnings (10′ and 16′) for plenty of shade on hot afternoons.

5. Grand Design Reflection 315RLTS

Grand Design Reflection 315RLTS Exterior

✅Excellent control panel layout with bypass valve and water control

⛔Dinette could use a little more cushioning

  • Length: 37′ 11″
  • UVW: 9,443 lbs
  • GVWR: 11,295 lbs
  • CCC: 1,852 lbs
  • Tongue Weight: 1,099 lbs

Grand Design RVs are some of the most popular in the country, and, of course, any trailer with a king-size bed will appease the bigger is better crowd. As far as Grand Design is concerned, why not have the best of both worlds? Out of the travel trailers with king-size beds, the Grand Design Reflection 315RLTS is one of the most acclaimed. It also comes factory-ready with a 165-watt solar setup.

Theater seating adjacent to a tri-fold sofa and a swiveling HD TV is part of an exciting package. Throw in a free-standing dinette, a large pantry, and you can see a pattern of spacious design intentions. Even the kitchen island, which sits almost directly in the middle of everything, doesn’t detract from the roomy and luxurious-feeling interior.

Regarding the king bed, it’s important to mention it’s not a standard feature from the factory. But, Many RV dealers do order the Reflection 315RLTS with the King Bed from the manufacturer. So you may be able to locate the Reflection 315RLTS at an RV dealer in your area.

6. Heartland Mallard M251BH

Heartland Mallard M251BH Exterior

✅Hideaway storage in redesigned entertainment center

⛔Glow feature in the cabinetry is a little too dim

  • Length: 29′ 7.5″
  • UVW: 6,040 lbs
  • GVWR: 7,820 lbs
  • CCC: 1,780 lbs
  • Tongue Weight: 820 lbs
  • Sleep: 5 to 6

This Heartland Mallard M251BH features a rare combination in the RV industry—two full-size bunk beds with a king mattress in the master bedroom. Usually, if you see two doubles, you get a queen in the master to save some of that crucial space. Heartland saved space and gave RVers the best of both anyway.

Better yet, the double bunks are directly adjacent to a surprisingly large bathroom with a shower that offers plenty of standing room. The U-shaped dinette is luxury personified, with thick, black cushioning around a table more than large enough to accommodate a large family.

The kitchen has plenty of counter space, and the pantry is exceptionally large, big enough to walk into. The hideaway storage is really nice and can be used as a gear storage closet since the door is next to the RV’s entry door.

7. Jayco Eagle 330RSTS

Jayco Eagle 330RSTS Exterior

✅Standard, dual whisper-ducted A/C at 30,000BTU total

⛔Dinette is smallish for a 6-sleeper travel trailer

  • Length: 40’ 1”
  • UVW: 10,665 lbs
  • GVWR: 12,250 lbs
  • CCC: 1,585 lbs
  • Tongue Weight: 1,360 lbs

The Jayco Eagle 330 RSTS is one of the more laid-back, relaxing, and luxurious travel trailers on the list. With the king-size bed being a part of the slide-out, the amount of space in the master bedroom is fantastic. It’s about as close as you can get to the feeling of being in a master bedroom in a residential home.

Even the shower has a seat, surrounded by a fairly large bathroom. The 330RSTS feels even more open thanks to several overhead storage compartments—one over the tri-fold sofa, one over the kind bed, and one over the entertainment center.

Jayco also focused on durability and longevity in the manufacturing of the 330RTS. A magnum truss roof rests on top of Stronghold VBL laminated walls. The tech is just as nice as the comfort, including the JayCommand Smart RV System, a Helix Cooling System, Climate Shield weather protection, and LED illuminated universal docking station.

8. Keystone Cougar Half-Ton 30BHS

Keystone Cougar Half Ton 30BHS Exterior

✅Hyper deck flooring (high-performance, water-resistant)

⛔Too much RV for a true, half-ton truck

  • Length: 34’ 5”
  • UVW: 7,339 lbs
  • GVWR: 9,500 lbs
  • CCC: 2,161 lbs
  • Tongue Weight: 790 lbs

Outside of the ‘half-ton’ moniker (it won’t take much in the way of additional weight to make it un-towable with most half-ton trucks), the floorplan on the Keystone Cougar Half-Ton 30BHS is excellent. It can easily accommodate 6 to 7, both space-wise and for sleeping.

As one of the mid-size travel trailers with a king-size bed, the Cougar half-ton offers plenty of space around the bedroom. You don’t have to turn sideways to walk around three sides of the bed.

The rear bunk section is designed to flow into the living room/kitchen area without a problem. If you have a child on each bunk and another sleeping on the convertible dinette, the kids can still have their own spaces near each other.

The dual-entry bathroom is large, spacious and acts as a separator between the master bedroom and the rest of the RV. With two sliding doors, the kids can use the bathroom at night, while mom and dad can keep their door locked on their side. This way, privacy can be maintained.

9. KZ Connect C292RDK

KZ Connect C292RDK Exterior

✅Large desk for a work-from-home office

⛔Desk is at a 90° angle from the dinette, creating a potential space issue

  • Length: 32’ 5”
  • UVW: 7,170 lbs
  • GVWR: 9,175 lbs
  • CCC: 2,005 lbs

The KZ Connect C292RDK has excellent counter space, especially when you include the island. This KZ Connect model also features a walk-in pantry and a decent-sized desk area for those who want to live and work remotely through the RV lifestyle. The dinette and a sizeable 70′ sofa are situated opposite the entertainment center, which is almost always the best arrangement.

The master bedroom is also very spacious, with enough room for two. The master bedroom has an opposing wardrobe with a washer and dryer prep installed. The dual-opposing slide-outs really add to the roomy feel of the living room area and galley.

If you prefer to take things outdoors, the 20′ awning offers plenty of shade over a mini-kitchen with a slide-out griddle. You also have access to pass-through storage on the exterior front of the RV. Though it’s designated to sleep 5, there is still more than enough space throughout to host guests for dinners, get-togethers, or parties.

10. Lance 2465

Lance 2465 Exterior

✅ Incredible lighting potential with window placement and LEDs

⛔Tieback straps on the pocket doors could be a little stronger

  • Length: 29’ 10”
  • UVW: 6,830 lbs
  • GVWR: 8,900 lbs
  • CCC: 2070 lbs
  • Tongue Weight: 930 lbs

If there’s one thing that really extenuates space, it’s light. The Lance 2465 has a lot of natural light going for it, thanks to the windows. This is especially true in the J-lounge, a nice, J-shaped couch surrounded by windows, specifically a very large front window. It’s the perfect spot to relax and take a nap on a warm, lazy afternoon.

The mid-bathroom serves two functions—a place to go to the bathroom, and it separates the master bedroom from the rest of the RV. The middle bathroom not only grants privacy to the master bedroom but also adds a few extra layers of soundproofing.

The galley is perfectly integrated into the living space with a sizeable dinette, some decent counter space, and a TV that’s strategically positioned to be out of the way. You won’t have to worry about knocking yourself out when standing up from one of the cabinets.

For those that are looking for a great RV to work on the road, the Lance 2465 has an amazing desk in the master bedroom. It has both house-type 110V and USB outlets for your computer and all of your peripherals. You’ll have plenty of daylight to work from with the window against the wall.

Remember to put your office devices away if you want to lay in bed later that night and enjoy the TV on the elevator rising from the back of the desk.

11. Palomino Puma 31FKRK

Palomino Puma 31FKRK Exterior

✅ Two entrances with LCI aluminum solid step system

⛔ Old school, non-digital thermostat

  • Length: 37’ 10”
  • UVW: 8,693 lbs
  • GVWR: 9,995 lbs
  • CCC: 1,302 lbs
  • Tongue Weight: 1,195 lbs

Though travel trailers with a king-size bed are nice, that’s not even the standout feature on the Palomino Puma 31FKRK . The counter space in the galley is fantastic. King beds as a part of the slide-out are always a good idea, adding much more room to the master bedroom.

In this case, there is plenty of extra room for a very large wardrobe, a washer and dryer prep area, and a dresser. Though the bathroom is located at the midway point, it doesn’t entirely divide the master from the rest of the RV.

The dual recliners and the large dinette provide plenty of sitting and lounging spots, especially if you have an average-size family and want to host a few more guests. Speaking of guests, you can choose an optional exterior package that includes an outside kitchen with a griddle.

12. Prime Time Lacrosse 3375FE

Prime Time Lacrosse 3375FE Exterior

✅Large bathroom counter with dual sinks

⛔Entertainment seating is 90° from the TV

  • Length: 38’ 2”
  • UVW: 8,839 lbs
  • GVWR: 11,280 lbs
  • CCC: 2,441 lbs
  • Tongue Weight: 1,080 lbs

Couples looking for a lot of space in a travel trailer will enjoy the Prime Time LaCrosse 3375FE . The dual sink is a huge draw for couples looking for the ultimate RVing experience. Two sinks in an RV bathroom are not very common, especially within the range of travel trailer sizes on our list. It’s very convenient, especially for those couples who ignite world wars over sink space.

The entertainment area is exceptional, with a theater sofa opposite a hide-a-bed sofa and a large 50″ HDTV between them. Since the bathroom is on the end with the master bedroom beside it, the overall design caters to couples.

The kitchen space is roomy, with an island that features a dual-well sink. The dinette is fairly standard and straightforward, while the counter space is more than adequate.

13. Starcraft GSL 321BHS

Starcraft GSL 321BHS Exterior

✅Dual-mode, dual-zone speaker system with Bluetooth

⛔Very dark aesthetic

  • Length: 38’
  • UVW: 8,445 lbs
  • CCC: 1,550 lbs
  • Tongue Weight: 1,005 lbs

If you love technology, arguing with the Starcraft GSL 321BHS is hard. This travel trailer features the TraveLINK Smart RV System, a dual-mode, dual-zone speaker system with Bluetooth, miZONE technology, and a JBL Aura Cube stereo. Some of those listed technologies are integrated, but each stands on its own.

With the TraveLINK Smart RV System, you have smartphone control over much of the RV, including the awnings, various music zones throughout and outside of the RV, the thermostat, the lights, and the slides. Its simplification through technology places most of the RV’s major features in your hand.

If you like a visually dark aesthetic, you’ll love the interior design, which is also very roomy, with enough to support up to 10 throughout the day and at bedtime. The master bedroom isn’t a tight squeeze either, though it doesn’t close off from the rest of the house.

14. Venture RV Sporttrek Touring Edition STT343VIK

Venture RV Sporttrek Touring Edition STT343VIK Exterior

✅Full-blown exterior kitchen looks incredible

⛔The oven space in the kitchen is a little tight

  • Length: 37’ 5”
  • UVW: 8,970 lbs
  • GVWR: 10,785 lbs
  • CCC: 1,815 lbs

Venture RV Sporttrek Touring Edition STT343VIK is a pretty big name. Fortunately, we’re covering travel trailers with king-size beds and not names. Besides, the STT343VIK has a lot to offer. It’s one of those travel trailer designs where not a single square inch of space is wasted.

The high-strength, low-alloy construction material has one of the best strength-to-weight ratios in the industry. The kitchen and living spaces are large and roomy, with a natural, polished wood aesthetic that screams luxury design.

This is also another example of a king bed with extra space augmented by a third slide-out. It makes so much sense with beds these large and leaves a lot of room for other amenities.

  • Tongue Weight: 1,018 lbs

Last but not least, in our list of the best travel trailers with a king-size bed, we have the Winnebago Voyage V3538BR. Winnebago has a long and illustrious history with the luxury side of RVs. The Voyage is a nice compromise among space, design strategy, and luxury.

As you can see, the above floorplan suggests a queen bed, but you can choose the king bed as an option as well. Wired for 50-amp service, the V3538BR includes a washer/dryer hook-up and multiple wardrobes in the master.

You’ll also enjoy the fantastic storage or sleeping options in the bunkhouse. Use it for your family or turn it into an office space. The incredibly spacious kitchen has plenty of counter space for preparing meals. The living space and entertainment center are great for relaxing on the theater seats.

What is the Difference Between a Residential King and an RV King Mattress?

The difference between a residential king and an RV version is that the RV King and RV Short King can be shorter and narrower by a small amount. RV designers did this to make sure the mattresses fit in some of the more narrow slideout boxes or other narrower situations.

There are a few fundamental differences within that shorter versus longer spectrum. Just like residential kings come in standard and California kings, RV kings have differences too. There are four RV king mattress sizes :

  • RV Short King – 75″ x 72″
  • RV King – 80″ x 72″
  • Eastern King – 80″ x 76″
  • RV California King – 84″ x 72″

Can You Put a Residential King Mattress in a Travel Trailer?

In some cases, it’s possible to place a residential king mattress in a travel trailer that uses an RV king or Queen mattress. However, you need to do a few things first. You have to measure how much additional space the new bigger mattress will take up in your RV’s master bedroom and see if it will fit between the side furniture and still leave you walking space around it.

You may have to replace the platform that the mattress will lay on to support it. Modifying the existing one may work, but if the dimensions of the plyboard isn’t wide enough, you will have to replace it.

This may also include adding stronger lift arms to hold the increased weight of the new mattress and a bigger platform. To give you an idea, here are the dimensions for all of the available residential king mattresses on the market.

  • Standard King – 76″ x 80″ (A.K.A. Eastern King)
  • California King – 72″ x 84″
  • Texas King – 80″ x 98″
  • Wyoming King – 84″ x 84″
  • Alaska King – 144″ x 84″

What is the Smallest Travel Trailer with a King-Size Bed?

The smallest travel trailers with a king-size bed are the Cruiser RVs (insert a variety of models here). They use a patented sliding system known as the King Bed Slide System. The only exception to the rule is Cruiser RV’s slideouts, which don’t need the sliding system.

Also, if you’re looking into the smaller, teardrop-side of travel trailers, the Harriet 6 x 10, the Casita Liberty, and the Coachmen Clipper Classic 1285SST all feature king-size beds.

Is the Best Travel Trailer for Full-Time Living a King-Size Bed Model?

Well, the best travel trailer for full-time living comes with a bed that works for you. If you have a lot of dogs or a combative significant other that loves to wiggle and roll all night, a king should probably be in your RVer future.

However, queen beds are often quite enough. With no dogs and still, quiet sleeping, there’s more than enough room for a queen.

What Kind of King Mattress Can You Get for Your Travel Trailer?

The kind of mattress you get for your travel trailer depends on your personal needs. For instance, a mattress is needed to help with spine or allergy problems. There are generally four types: Latex, spring, memory foam, and air. Each has its advantages and drawbacks.

Spring mattresses are often airier, but the springs are susceptible to rust in hot and humid regions, especially if your RV goes into storage and the mattress is unused for an extended period. Memory foam is great for lower back pain but isn’t very airy. It’s also heat-sensitive, so the elasticity will wear out over time. Even with the cooling foam technology, a stored RV that heats up can affect the elasticity.

Air mattresses are great economical choices, but all it takes is a single leak to ruin the experience. Latex mattresses are probably the most comfortable, but these mattresses are the most expensive of the four. People can also be allergic to them too.

Final Thoughts on Travel Trailers with a King-Size Bed

From small to mid-size travel trailers, a king-size bed is not out of the realm of possibility. There are even more offerings than what we’ve presented, but these travel trailers stand out as some of the best on the market today.

If there’s one thing that’s difficult to associate with king beds in travel trailers, it’s space. The above travel trailers do a fantastic job of incorporating king-size beds without sacrificing everything else to the altar of space (or lack thereof). If you’re looking for a little more comfortable room in your master bedroom, any of the above will do the trick and offer much more for the prospective RVer.

Why You Should Choose A King Size Bed

Most camper trailers include a master bedroom with a queen-size bed. These typically measure 60 inches wide by 80 inches long —enough to make this mattress size the most popular one on the market.

King sized beds, meanwhile, increase the width by 16 inches, though the length is the same as a queen bed. That means that the main sleeping area of the travel trailer will need to be slightly larger in order to accommodate it. Either that, or the space will just be unbelievably cramped.

So, who should consider going up a size? If you’re an active sleeper, a larger bed is definitely in order. Couples who enjoy having a bit of extra elbow room are also good candidates for a king mattress. In either case, if you expect to have any small children or pets sharing the bed with you, you’re sure to appreciate the additional space.

Deciding on a king sized bed for your travel trailer is far simpler than choosing one for your bedroom at home. For one thing, you don’t have to worry whether your bedroom is large enough to accommodate the extra width. Similarly, you won’t have to maneuver the mattress through any tight doorways. And as far as budget is concerned, you’re planning on purchasing a new travel trailer anyway. Why not shell out a few more dollars to ensure that you’ll get a good night’s sleep when you’re out on the road?

Great Travel Trailers With King Size Bed: Product Review Guide

Jayco has a reputation for packing a great deal of fun into smaller spaces. With the 2020 model of the White Hawk 32KBS, they’ve given you a comfortable place to crash when you’re through enjoying the rest of the amenities.

As you enter the trailer, the bedroom area is to the right. The king bed dominates the space without overwhelming it, leaving room for two wardrobes, a bench, and a dresser with built-in fireplace. To the left of the entrance, you’ll find the kitchen, which is distinguished by a generous pantry, double sink, microwave, 8-cubic foot refrigerator, and U-shaped dinette.

30 foot travel trailer with king bed

A second fireplace is built into the entertainment center, opposite the tri-fold sofa. The bathroom is located to the rear of the trailer, outfitted with a sink, toilet, stall shower, and walk-in closet. An outdoor kitchen can be set up beneath the 21-foot awning, increasing the living space still further.

Clearly, the White Hawk 32KBS is designed to appeal to buyers who prefer to bring a few creature comforts into the wilderness. The oversized bed is a definite perk, but it’s only one of many.

The cozy, well-appointed living area is the best reason to consider investing in this offering from Forest River. However, that’s no reason to overlook the rest of the amenities, which are just as impressive.

The bedroom, situated in the rear, has its own private entrance and a wardrobe-vanity combo to complement the king-sized bed. A pocket door leads to the bathroom, which can also be accessed from the tiny hallway. A comfortable sofa and two theater-style seats form an L-shape across from the fireplace and entertainment center. There’s a small dinette tucked into the wall opposite the kitchen, which includes a double sink, refrigerator, microwave, and three-burner stove.

30 foot travel trailer with king bed

From the outside, this slightly boxy travel trailer doesn’t look like anything special. Once you step inside, though, you’ll find it hard to leave again. As an added bonus, it measures under 36 feet in length, making it an appealing choice if you’re apprehensive about hauling a longer rig.

At 40 feet 9 inches, this stick-built travel trailer is one of the roomiest campers in our roundup. It also sleeps up to 9 people, making it a good choice for families or large groups.

The bedroom is situated at the rear of the trailer, complete with king bed, dresser, closet, and washer/dryer combo. In between the sleeping area and the kitchen is a bathroom with toilet, sink, linen closet, and stall shower. A three-burner stove and double sink are set into the L-shaped counter, which offers plenty of prep space. A refrigerator and small pantry round out the kitchen amenities.

30 foot travel trailer with king bed

The sofa and small dinette allow campers to gather and chat about the day’s activities, or take in a movie on the 30-inch TV that’s situated on the outer wall of the bunkhouse. Through the bunkhouse doors, you’ll find an additional dinette and entertainment center, in addition to a set of bunk beds.

It should be noted that the king bed, at just 70 inches wide, is significantly narrower than the 76-inch standard. The trailer is also a bit larger than some of the other units listed here, but if your towing vehicle can handle it, this is a great option.

The Puma 31FKRK is aimed at couples and small families who enjoy the outdoors, but are looking for a comfortable place to escape at the end of the day. With its modest length and durable construction, it succeeds on both counts.

The front-facing kitchen features an oversized L-shaped counter and a deep sink, along with a three-burner range, oven, 6-cubic foot refrigerator, and microwave. The fridge can be upgraded to 11 cubic feet if you need additional space. An entertainment center and built-in fireplace grace the living area, and can be viewed from the trifold sofa and theater-style recliners. Buyers can choose either a stand-alone table and chairs or a cozy dinette for mealtimes.

30 foot travel trailer with king bed

Considering the relatively small size of the trailer, the bathroom is impressively appointed, with a 34×34 inch shower and skylight. It sits adjacent to the master bedroom, which offers a king sized bed and two wardrobes for storage. A second TV can be hooked up in the bedroom, if desired. There’s also a washer/dryer option if you plan on taking longer journeys.

These thoughtful touches combine to make the Puma 31FKRK feel more like a home than a camper. If you only need sleeping space for up to six people, this could be right up your alley.

Despite the fact that it sleeps only four people, the Prime Time LaCrosse 3299SE offers a remarkable amount of living space. The LaCrosse line is Prime Time’s premier brand, and this particular model puts that luxury on full display, with a solid construction that elevates it into a true home away from home.

In the master suite, you’ll find a wardrobe and overhead storage in addition to the king bed. The bedroom adjoins the sleeping area and offers a large shower in addition to the sink and flush toilet. We’re not crazy about the fact that the only entrance to the bathroom is situated just steps away from the bed, but couples and solo travelers aren’t likely to mind.

30 foot travel trailer with king bed

Theater seating and a plump pull-out sofa offer a place to unwind and enjoy the entertainment center. The kitchen takes center stage, with a free-standing dinette, sink, refrigerator, pantry, and hutch. There’s also an outdoor cooking station with a grill and separate fridge for cold beverages.

In addition to measuring just under 37 feet in length, this camper has a relatively low dry weight of 8,149 pounds. As such, it would be a solid option for beginners, especially if your vehicle can only tow modest loads.

The North Trail line is distinguished by open, airy living spaces that allow for lively conversation and relaxed evenings. This is one of the smaller options, but the oversized windows promote a spacious feel, along with prime views of the outdoors.

The interior provides a sizable feast for the eyes as well. A front-facing master bedroom pairs the king-sized bed with a wardrobe and space for a washer/dryer. The bathroom is cubbyhole-sized, but still manages to make room for a stall shower. It can be accessed through either the bedroom or the hallway , a perk that’s usually reserved for larger campers.

30 foot travel trailer with king bed

A center island with double sinks gives the kitchen area a gourmet vibe. Along the rear wall, an oversized refrigerator sits alongside a three-burner stovetop range. A pull-out sofa can sleep an additional two people. If you take advantage of the two slide-outs, the space opens up still further, with a table, four chairs, and two theater-style recliners.

Like the Sportsmen Destination model, the Sprinter Limited 333FKS has a king bed that measures just 70 inches wide. In our opinion, though, the additional space you’ll get in the bedroom is well worth the sacrifice.

Along with the bed—which is still larger than you’ll find in most small travel trailers—the sleeping area contains a wardrobe, dresser, and overhead storage. A linen closet and radius shower can be found in the adjacent bathroom. From the trifold sofa, campers can enjoy either a flickering fire, or their choice of media on the nearby entertainment center. A slide-out offers additional theater seating and a table that seats four.

30 foot travel trailer with king bed

The kitchen contains a center island with three-burner range, as well as a huge sink, double refrigerator, microwave, and ample pantry space. We’re particularly fond of the way the front-facing kitchen is configured, as it doesn’t interfere with the rest of the living area. Take a closer look at the 333FKS if you prefer a bedroom that offers space to walk around in, as well as a larger bed.

Measuring just over 27 feet long, the Radiance R-22RB is the smallest model in our roundup. Despite its modest length, it offers a generous interior height of 83 inches—more than enough to allow you to travel in style.

Cooking enthusiasts will enjoy the ample counter and storage space in the U-shaped kitchen, as well as the 6-cubic foot refrigerator and three-burner range. There’s also a huge sink with a high-rise faucet and a conveniently located trash chute.

A snug dinette rounds out the living area. The bathroom features a stall shower and plenty of counter space, but only a small shelf for storage. Similarly, the king sized bed takes up much of the bedroom, with only a smidgen of room on either side to get in and out.

While the living space of the R-22RB is decidedly less opulent than the majority of the travel trailers listed here, it’s cozy enough to suit close couples and small families. As a bonus, it’s compact enough to be parked and maneuvered easily, even if you’re a novice.

In Conclusion

As you can see, small doesn’t necessarily mean cramped, particularly when it comes to sleeping space. If you’ve balked at purchasing a travel trailer because you were afraid you’d have to sacrifice a good night’s sleep, fear not. There are plenty of quality campers on the market that combine a luxurious bed with a manageable length and towing weight—and plenty of other amenities to boot.

Good luck, and happy camping!

Why a Travel Trailer with a King Bed?

  • More sleeping room: Of course, this is the obvious one. If you have a king bed at home and don’t want to downsize, you don’t have to! King beds mean you can fit one more person in your RV since three people can sleep relatively comfortably in a king bed.
  • Bedroom suites: Many travel trailers with king beds have enclosed, private bedrooms. This means if you’re traveling with family, you’ll be able to escape to your bedroom suite that’s usually separated from the living area and other sleeping areas.
  • High-end trailers: A travel trailer with king bed is definitely considered a luxury amenity. This means that trailers with king beds generally have “fancier” amenities overall. If you pick a travel trailer with a king bed you’ll likely have other amenities that are just as luxurious as a king bed.

Are Camping Trailer King Beds the Same as Regular King Beds?

A residential king bed is 76 inches wide, and 80 inches long. They’re the same length as a queen bed but they’re over a foot wider.

In travel trailers with king beds, it’s very rare to find a bed that’s 76 inches wide. Typical travel trailers will have an “RV king” which will be between 70 and 74 inches wide.

King size beds in travel trailers are not as wide as residential beds simply because there’s only so much space to work with inside a travel trailer.

  • Tri-folding sofa
  • Sleeps up to 6

  • Underbelly storage space

At just 25 feet, the Cruiser RV Embrace is on the smaller end of travel trailers with king-size beds.

The Embrace has a couple of pretty unique features, like a full underbelly storage system, as well as exterior speakers.

Cruiser RV Embrace EL210 interior

The most unique feature of the Cruiser RV travel trailers is the patent-pending sliding king-size bed.

The system allows you to slide the bed over to one side. This creates 12 inches of extra floor space in the bedroom whenever you need it.  The bedroom, though, isn’t much of a “master bedroom” since it’s basically in the same room as the kitchen and living room area.

So, this Cruiser RV travel trailer will definitely work better for just two people who may occasionally bring friends or family along.

The nightstands are set up with USB charging ports. The bedroom comes fitted with a “platinum series” king mattress which Keystone claims is very comfortable.

This travel trailer also comes with some pretty sweet extras, like a shoe cubby right when you walk in the door, and solar panels in the base package.

Here’s an in-depth video tour:

The bedroom also has a laundry chute, which is a super unique feature I haven’t seen in any other travel trailer. You’ll also get a wardrobe with washer/dryer prep inside.

The bathroom has a large walk-in shower, a sink, and a toilet, and is enclosed by a sliding door. The living area has lots of floor space because of the two opposing pullouts.

On one side are two theater seats and a dinette, and on the other are all your kitchen appliances, an entertainment center, and an electric fireplace. There’s also a kitchen island in the center of the space. In the very back, you’ll get a tri fold sofa for extra sleeping space.

What Types of King Mattresses Can You Get for Your Trailer?

Although many RV manufacturers claim that their mattresses are ultra-comfortable, this isn’t always the case. RV mattresses are notoriously thin and uncomfortable, so many people opt to purchase a mattress separately.

If you do want to pick your own mattress, there are a few different options out there. I’ll explain them and why I’d recommend (or not recommend) any of the following options.

Air Mattress: Not Recommended

Air mattresses are one option for a king mattress in travel trailers. However, I really do not recommend them because they can be really uncomfortable. Plus, you have to inflate them pretty often.

If you’re going to invest in a king sized bed for your travel trailer, invest in a quality mattress as well. An air mattress doesn’t really cut it unless it’s just temporary use.

Residential Memory Foam Mattress: Comfortable But Might Not Fit

Memory foam mattresses like the ones you buy online and are shipped to your house in a box are super comfortable. (If you have one, you know).

These are a super comfortable option for an RV king mattress, but you’ll have to make sure they will fit in the given space.

Since some RV king beds can be as small as 70 inches wide, the extra 6 inches on a residential mattress just might not fit in the layout of the RV.

Mattress Toppers: Great to Boost Comfort

Memory foam mattress toppers are a great option if you find your mattress is a tiny bit uncomfortable. A mattress topper will not fix all your problems, but it’ll just boost the comfort of a thin mattress a bit.

These are inexpensive and can be cut to fit the size of your mattress. You can also order a custom-sized topper from Mattress Insider .

However, they might slide around a bit and aren’t a permanent solution to a highly uncomfortable mattress.

Custom RV Mattress: My Recommendation

You’re already going all-out for comfort by getting a travel trailer with a king bed, why not purchase a custom, super comfy mattress to go with it?

With a custom RV mattress, you’ll get the comfort of a residential gel/memory foam mattress, and the fit of a mattress that’s custom made for your travel trailer.

To design your custom mattress, head over to Mattress Insider’s custom mattress builder . Choose the mattress type you want, and select the dimensions of your travel trailer’s king bed.

Add any corner cuts applicable to your king bed space, and order it! Your new comfy travel trailer mattress will be shipped to you in a box in a few weeks.

Are there king-size murphy beds?

There aren’t currently any travel trailer manufacturers that offer king-size murphy beds. This would be an upgrade you’d have to take on yourself.

If you want to shop through travel trailers with queen size murphy beds check here: RV Murphy Beds – Are They Worth It? Which RVs Have Them?

Can I use a regular king mattress in my travel trailer?

Yes you can, though it might not be a perfect fit.

Typical king bed dimensions in a travel trailer are between 70 and 74 inches wide whereas a residential king mattress is 76 inches wide.

Check here for some pro tips: 3 Ways to Deal with Your Uncomfy RV Mattress (+how to order a custom replacement!)

What is the smallest travel trailer with a king bed?

The Cruiser RV Shadow Cruiser might be the smallest travel trailer out there with a king bed at just 22 feet long.

Can I put a king bed in a queen sized space in my travel trailer?

If your travel trailer has a queen size bed and you want a king, it is possible to put a king bed in the travel trailer.

You’ll need to make sure, most importantly, that there’s enough room on either side of the queen bed for a king bed to fit in the space.

Then, you may have to add some extra supports for the overhang of the mattress.

A king bed in a travel trailer may seem like a big luxury, but it’s not really such a huge reach.

The Simpsons Winter GIF

You don’t necessarily have to shell out a ton of cash or purchase a huge rig to find a travel trailer with a nice comfy king bed.

Fortunately, there are plenty of options out there, from large trailers with king beds in master suites and tons of extra sleeping room, to studio-style couple’s trailers.

And why not amp up the comfort even more by adding a custom mattress to replace the thin mattress that usually comes with travel trailers??

If you’ve done some shopping and you’re completely unsure which trailer is right for you, you can always test-drive any of these trailers and more on RVShare .

Just a FYI for would-be buyers of new travel trailers (and any other type), make sure the PDI is complete and ALL warranty repairs conducted before you leave the lot. Especially if you are not from that area and plan on taking it home in another state.

The dealers in your home state may not conduct warranty work on your trailer since you didn’t buy it from them and can’t be bothered with you. Service work may not be available as well if you didn’t buy it from them. They prioritize service techs for people that bought from them. Lastly, they may perform warranty repairs, but make you pay for the warranty work upfront and YOU then have to make your case to the Manufacturer for reimbursement.

Just my experience in my area. Your experience will vary. Find out if you can get warranty work for your trailer in your area IF you bought it elsewhere.

Wow, that was a super helpful comment! Thank you for the tip! – Stacy

Top 6 Travel trailers with King size beds

30 foot travel trailer with king bed

If your holiday or weekend plans entail sleeping in the very same area as your spouse, or you’re just past the time of life when you’re happy to fit into a tiny nocturnal space, it might be challenging to find solutions in certain camper trailers.

Even though most trailers with the master bedroom layout come equipped with a queen-sized bed, that just does not always correspond to a residential-style queen which can be up to 5 inches smaller. If you or your spouse are near to six feet tall (or higher), it can be a serious problem.

Particularly if you’re familiar and comfortable sleeping on king-size beds, switching to a much smaller bed during your trip might be tricky. King beds add an extra foot to the breadth of the bed and make a huge difference whenever you want to stretch out.

30 foot travel trailer with king bed

Of course, switching to a king is a possibility in certain camper trailer types, but that frequently provides an extra price and makes the sleeping room seem small.

RVing is one variation of the downsizing lifestyle that many would like to live every day. Many imagine that this sort of living implies selling your stuff and sleeping on a cramped full-size mattress. Whilst others find this enticing, this typically isn’t the truth.

Larger RVs feature square footage that matches some residences. There are versions of towables and campers which are big enough just to feature king beds. Living the RV lifestyle may be a pretty nice living.

30 foot travel trailer with king bed

King-size beds give extra area for you and your companion to obtain a good night’s rest. This mattress size allows taller folks an opportunity to spread out. If you let your four-legged offspring sleep on the bed, this should provide every one of you a more residential feel to be comfortable.

The subject of discussion is an investigation of travel trailers featuring king beds as its factory-installed feature. Since this feature has tremendous popularity, RV manufacturers have devised methods to install them in coaches. A surprising characteristic is how inexpensive they may be.

In the home mattress sector, you may go to a furnishings or mattress shop to find a regular or California King bed. Residential furniture producers have recognized these standardized standards. Ordinary kings are 72 x 80, meanwhile, the California kings are 74 × 84.

30 foot travel trailer with king bed

Inside the RV lifestyle, mattress dimensions are more flexible. Oftentimes architects of RVs have to cut an inch or two out of the bed size to accommodate for appropriate spacing. A problem may develop if it is not possible to move around the bed or close the slideout entirely for the customer.

If you are considering changing your RV bed with a residential mattress, take some time to consider a few things. The creators of these mattresses develop them to preserve their integrity within households. Although they may suit your RV, this may not operate optimum for you.

Many home mattresses function in combination with a matching box spring. In your RV, your mattress will rest on top of a wood platform. It’s possible that the mattress company’s claims of support and comfort aren’t accurate.

30 foot travel trailer with king bed

Using your mattress alone without a box spring might void the guarantee since you are not using it in the method the manufacturer suggests. The mattress might feel strange than it did at the showroom. In severe circumstances, you may develop back or joint problems when its integrity deteriorates as a result of extended use.

The bedding in your RV is also subjected to dampness and more varied temps than a house. Innersprings can tend to corrode, and memory foam diminishes with heat. You might find yourself renewing your mattress around every five years as a full-timer.

30 foot travel trailer with king bed

While each and every one of the travel trailers on the list is definitely worth your money, selecting the finest travel trailer with king beds needs a little bit closer of a look.

The thing you should consider before buying one is the method of implementation. How many companions will you be having? Will you be in an RV park with water, dumpsites, and other amenities? Will you be boondocking off the grid where enormous storage tanks allow you to maintain the way you wish to remain, without having to break camp?

Palomino Puma 31FKRK

30 foot travel trailer with king bed

The Puma comes in a range of floor configurations and amenities. The 31FKRK is designed for RVing couples and small families that want a huge king-size bed and the solitude of a master suite.

And we enjoy the option of an outside kitchen. A microwave and a mini-fridge are included in the outdoor kitchen. This travel trailer’s outdoor kitchen option is a great feature. An outdoor kitchen with a mini-fridge and induction stove is another wonderful option for this model. To drive this travel trailer off the usual road for a few days, you may need a portable waste water tank.

The Palomino Puma 31FKRK. Durable and easy to pull with a 1/2 ton tow vehicle, Palomino’s Puma line With a 37’8″ external length, the 31FKRK can go almost anyplace. Its inside height is 80 inches, giving you and your guests plenty of headroom.

The huge pantry and entertainment center flank the refrigerator. The entertainment center contains a 31-inch fireplace and a TV that can be adjusted to maximize the viewing area.

30 foot travel trailer with king bed

The dinette (or optional free-standing table and chairs) and matching recliners are on the front slide opposite the entertainment center. A trifold sofa converts to a queen-sized bed in the living area.

The main bedroom contains a 72 x 80 king-size walk-around bed with a window at the head. Two big wardrobes with hanging space are available, one with an optional washer/dryer. The wall opposite the bed features a dresser and TV hookup.

The bedroom is huge and beautiful with a king-size bed in its master bedroom. Overhead storage and corner shelves are a wonderful addition to bedside accessories. A wide panoramic window faces the bed, with a dresser underneath, and the choice of a fireplace or a big flat-screen TV in a TV cabinet for viewing a movie after a hard day.

The entryway closet and corner pantry are great touches, and the L-shaped counter in the kitchen includes a countertop extension for more prep or serving room.

Couples seeking a lightweight travel trailer with a king-size bed would appreciate the Jayco White Hawk 32 KBS. This particular travel trailer floor design features a king-size bed and a nice window bench. The Jayco White Hawk 32 KBS can officially sleep six, though four may be more realistic. Especially for longer trips where folks may need extra room.

This vacation trailer’s entertainment center stands out. You receive a big TV and another electric fireplace. This means you may hook up your RV to a generator or a campground’s shore power for extra heat in the summer or fall. It’s a terrific method to stay warm on a cold night without using up your gas supply.

30 foot travel trailer with king bed

The rear bathroom is arguably on the tiny side. The shower stall isn’t too small. A 42-gallon freshwater tank supplies the toilet, shower, bathroom sink, and kitchen sink. Both gray and black water tanks are 61 gallons. It’s a tad small for a couple wanting to live off the grid but perfect for an RV park.

Venture RV SportTrek Touring

A luxurious travel trailer with the thrill of camping, Venture RV’s SportTrek Touring series.

There are eight-floor plans with outdoor cooking areas or pass-through storage, thus nine of their ten-floor plans include king-size beds. A bike or other outdoor equipment storage rack is available as an option on all of their models.

30 foot travel trailer with king bed

If you are looking for a trailer with a unique floor plan, then this range is definitely worth a look. With a rear kitchen or bedroom, an open floor layout with a hutch, or a separate dining area.

With its distinctive features and classic layout, the STT322VRL travel trailer is our top option. It is 35’11” long and 82″ tall.

This type has a rear entry. One of the most useful pieces of furniture in the room is a 70-inch tri-fold sofa that converts to a bed. A wide window and storage are located above.

30 foot travel trailer with king bed

An angled entertainment center (with fireplace) and a carpeted slide hold the theater seating in this space.

It also shows the free-standing table and chairs opposite the L-shaped kitchen. The kitchen includes an 8 cubic foot refrigerator, three-burner range, and dual sinks. However, the plan does not require any bulky walls or dividers to create the illusion of isolation.

This means that the restroom isn’t on display at the trailer’s entrance or at the trailer’s conclusion. The lavatory and toilet are opposite the 30 x 36 shower with a skylight.

30 foot travel trailer with king bed

In the front, the 70 x 80 king bed is on a slide. In comparison to the previous king beds, this one is 2 inches thinner. The fireplace and TV are on the dresser opposite the bed.

Besides the dual hanging wardrobes, the room also offers a third wardrobe with washing and dryer. A grill or other portable cooking surface can easily fit in this model’s pass-through storage space.

It comes in up to ten distinct floorplans from Venture RV. As the greatest king-size travel trailer choice, the STT322VRL stands out. The front includes a small master suite with a king-size bed built into the front slide-out part.

30 foot travel trailer with king bed

You can also sleep on the fold-out couch. Overall, the SportTrek Touring STT322VRL can accommodate six people. Still, 4 people may be more realistic for a longer journey, where extra space is often desired. Extra sleeping space is useful for overnight guests.

Thanks to a big slide-out part, the main living area is very roomy The kitchen is well-equipped, and the bathroom appears larger than it is. The 40-gallon freshwater tank supports them both. Also included are 32-gallon gray and black water tanks.

This RV is a good compromise between off-grid camping and staying connected to an RV park’s facilities.

Dutchmen Kodiak Ultimate 3021RBDS

30 foot travel trailer with king bed

Another reason Kodiak uses the word “Ultimate” correctly. It’s a king bed with a bunkhouse. This travel trailer is family-friendly. Kodiak planned every detail of this coach. A full-size SUV can tow it. So the whole family may travel together in one vehicle.

The master suite contains a 70 x 80-inch king bed. The bunkhouse’s three bunks are 28 x 74. The two-seater dinette converts to a twin bed, and the main dinette is full. A mobile trailer that sleeps 8 people requires a lot of storage. So Kodiak designers added A pantry the size of a cupboard, large wardrobes, and lots of ceiling storage. The RV contains a ten-cubic-foot refrigerator and a full kitchen. On nice days, use your outside kitchen. It contains a small fridge, two-burner propane stove, sink, and plenty of outlets.

30 foot travel trailer with king bed

The booth dinette seats four, while the bunkhouse has a two-person dinette. Full-time RVers might use this space for homeschooling books and laptops. Relax in front of the TV on the two-person theatre sofa. Dutchmen have a long history of providing campers, fifth-wheel campers, and travel trailers to satisfy almost any demand.

Their Kodiak Ultimate 3321BHSL was built to accommodate large families or groups. At first appearance, it seems designed to slumber a fall hunting party. The huge bathroom separates the master suite in the front nose cap of the camper. It’s separated from the remainder of the travel trailer’s living space by a standard door. This provides a couple more privacy. Because there is no front slideout, the storage space around the king-size bed is limited, but you can make do with what you have.

30 foot travel trailer with king bed

The main living area has three foldouts that can accommodate up to six more people. Two convertible couch beds and three roomy bunk beds are available. When everyone needs to eat at the same time, the bunkhouse area turns into a huge dinette. It’s a terrific alternative for large families.

The Dutchmen Kodiac Ultimate also includes a 50-gallon freshwater tank, 78-gallon gray water tank, and 28-gallon black water tank. For an extended stay off the grid, you may bring additional water in a separate storage tank. It’s ideal for hunting parties who wish to bond for a week or longer without relying on an RV park.

Like Jayco, Dutchmen is a well-known RV maker. The Kodiak Ultimate is one of the company’s largest and most opulent models, so anticipate plenty of high-end features. First, this RV has two entertainment centers, each with a fireplace. One of the centers is a bedroom door. The master bedroom has two TVs and two fireplaces once the door is closed. There is also a bench seat inside for extra seating and movement.

This RV’s design and style are superb. The interior has faux leather seats and faux marble surfaces. If the inside wasn’t so little, you’d think you were in a hotel. Finally, the Kodiak Ultimate has an outside kitchen but no awning. So park in the shade or bring your own shade umbrella.

Cruiser RV Radiance

The Radiance from Cruiser RV also features many floor plans with a king-size bed standard. The R-22RB is a two-person trailer that is shorter. This model’s outer length is 27’5′′, while the internal height is 83 inches. One slide houses the u-shaped dinette and a residential-style 6 cubic foot refrigerator next to the u-shaped kitchen. The kitchen has lots of workspace and storage for individuals who enjoy cooking.

The trash chute is conveniently situated beside the three-burner range. A huge sink with a high-rise faucet and steel ball-bearing full extension drawer guides complete the kitchen. There is an amazing amount of counter space in the trailer’s bathroom. The sink and mirrored medicine cabinet are in the bathroom’s corner, and the counter spans the length of the wall. A supplementary shelf is built next to the shower.

The entertainment center separates the kitchen from the bedroom and includes storage and a large TV. The master bedroom has two doors from either part of the 72 x 80 king-size bed. Overhead storage, closets on either side and nightstands are provided. There are windows on both sides of the bed, and a TV mount on the wall facing the bed. Optional features include a bumper-mounted LP BBQ barbecue and upgraded A/C.

30 foot travel trailer with king bed

Like Jayco, Palomino, and Keystone, Cruiser has a long history in the RV market. In order to save money for travel expenses, the Cruiser RV Radiance R-26 KB was developed for couples and small families with a limited budget. A king-size bed is positioned near the travel trailer’s nose cap in the Cruiser RV-Radiant R-26 KB.

It’s perfect for the little master suite. Also included in the main living room are a fold-out sofa bed and sleeper chairs. In theory, this travel trailer can sleep six. Four seems more plausible. The bathroom is spacious for a king-size bed cheap travel trailer. Shower while the other gets ready at the sink. In addition to enough space on the counter and storage, the kitchen features a handy trash shoot.

This RV’s 44-gallon freshwater tank supplies the kitchen and bathroom. 30 gallon gray and black water tanks in this travel trailer. With this, you can go for several days without going to the RV dump station. A GVWR of 7,644 pounds and a hitch weight of 644 pounds are also worth noting for the Radiance R-26 KB from Cruiser RV. Most half-ton pickup trucks can tow it comfortably. A mid-size SUV would definitely be too big for it.

Heartland North Trail 33RETS

30 foot travel trailer with king bed

If you want a front-facing bedroom but don’t want to go the length of your camper to use the restroom in the middle of the night, the Heartland North Trail 33RETS may be more appealing.

This type has a 39’8″ outside length with a capped roof that allows for an 82″ inside ceiling height. That implies plenty of headroom for travelers above 6 feet tall. The first slide is in the bedroom to make a place for the king-size bed. Front wardrobe with sliding glass doors, hanging storage, and washer/dryer hookups. A wide window and above storage area flank the bed.

The bathroom is accessible from the trailer’s entryway or the bedroom. The bathroom has a corner shower with sliding doors, a foot flush toilet, a sink, and a linen closet. The other two slides are carpeted in the main living room. The entry slide contains a free-standing table and chairs, as well as theater seating with cupholders. This slide includes four windows for plenty of natural light whether you’re eating breakfast or relaxing at night.

Next to the theater chairs and galley is the entertainment center with a fireplace. Also in the galley are two (yes, TWO) double-door residential-style refrigerators. The slide-out fridge and cooking area free up one wall for counter and cabinet space, making prep work and cooking with two people much easier. The dual sink is at the center island, which also has storage and counter.

Heartland North Trail is another travel trailer RV built for couples and small families that wish to travel in style and comfort. It features a king-size bed and an attached bathroom, so it seems like a master suite. Even if the sleeping quarters are a little cramped.

This is a slight trade-off for a vast living area. A spacious kitchen island or counter space and a three-burner range/stove combo complete the kitchen. The living room has a huge couch that may be used as a hide-a-bed for kids or a guest couple.

The bathroom is large, with plenty of elbow room in the shower. The Heartland North Trail 33RETS has a 52-gallon freshwater tank, making it ideal for couples who like to boondock or camp off-grid. The gray and black water tanks are each 42 gallons, and the fresh water tank is 52 gallons. It also reduces the need to run to the RV park’s disposal station. Invest in large-capacity portable wastewater tanks. So you can get to the disposal station in one or two journeys.

Entertainment center with fireplace, kitchen island with sink, enclosed bedroom with bathroom access The North Trail features three slide-out portions, which is very normal. The dining and seating area, the kitchen, and the bedroom.

With so many slide-outs, there’s more room to move about and stretch. Keep in mind that setting up for the night will take longer. Its huge tanks should last up to a week depending on usage.

The North Trail includes a large kitchen island with a sink. The eating area also features normal chairs that can be moved around. Having conventional chairs in the dinette is rare in RVs. Regarding seats, there are two alternatives (or the built-in fireplace). Two recliners flank the TV, while a sofa flanks it on the side. This king bed travel trailer offers an enclosed bedroom and its own bathroom. Lastly, there is a large wardrobe beside the bed, so plenty of storage room can be utilized.

What to Look for in a Travel Trailer with a King Bed

When buying a new trailer, there are various factors to consider when looking at the bed. These considerations will heavily influence your choice of RV, so take your time. Taking your time will ensure you get the best RV.

How many companions will you be having?

Before buying an RV or travel trailer, determine how many people will be sleeping in it at any given moment. This determines the size of the trailer and the number of beds required. Which beds you want in your trailer will depend on your budget.

If you are traveling with your spouse, a king-size bed may be best. It’s big enough for both of you and uses less space than two twin beds.

However, if you plan to travel largely with your pals, a king-size bed may not be necessary. Instead, acquire a camper with multiple twin beds to conserve room. The king bed is useless if you are the only one sleeping in it.

Total Travel Trailer Layout

You must also analyze the trailer’s overall design. RVs and trailers come in a wide range of designs. So a bed for one trailer may not fit in another. So, before you buy a bed, consider the trailer’s design.

A king-size bed may not fit in a smaller trailer. Other trailers may be spacious enough, but you may have to give up the night tables to have a king bed.

Underneath the King Bed Storage

When you first pack for an RV trip, you will notice that it is difficult to fit everyone into the trailer. It’s difficult to put everything into the trailer, including rv gear.

So you must learn to bring and leave. But there are things you can do to increase your storage capacity. One of them is a king bed with storage underneath.

Several mattresses in an RV take up a full area of the room, removing all storage space. The lack of storage space under the bed makes the master bedroom difficult to organize. However, a trailer with a king bed and storage underneath is available.

This will provide you with a lot more storage because the space underneath your bed is now storage. Additional storage without eating up extra trailer space. This will allow you to bring a few extra items on your trip.

A secondary bedroom

Consider if you ever need a camper with a separate bed from the remainder of the trailer.

Q. What is the smallest travel trailer with a king-size bed?

A. The Keystone Cougar 22MLS is a great option for families. With a length of under 26 feet, the Cougar is one of the shortest travel trailers on the market today. When compared to other travel trailers with king-size beds, this travel trailer has fewer facilities and only sleeps four people, which is a significant disadvantage. In such a case, this rig would suit couples or small families well.

Q. Can you fit a king-size bed in an RV?

A. Yes, it is possible. As long as you opt for a larger vehicle such as a Class A motorhome, a huge Class C motorhome, or a 5th wheel trailer, you should be fine. The majority of manufacturers of these larger recreational vehicles (RVs) provide floorplans with King-sized beds. Bear in mind that RV mattresses are available in a variety of sizes that differ from residential mattresses.

All of our reviews are based on exhaustive research, industry experience and whenever possible, hands-on testing. When you make a purchase using one of our chosen links we’ll get a small percentage of the proceeds. This supports the site and keeps Jeffsetter running. You can read more here .

Comfort while on the road is one of the main things that many new RVers are searching for, which is why you may be on the hunt for some of the best Class C RVs with a king bed. But what else should you consider in a Class C RV , and is a king bed set up right for you?

In this article, we will address everything you need to know about purchasing a Class C RV with a king bed layout. We will go over all of the things you should consider before making your final purchase, including some of the pros and cons of a king bed.

Let’s get started and talk about everything you need to know when it comes to purchasing a Class C RV with a king bed. Only interested in seeing our list of some of the best options for you? Click here to jump ahead to our list of 10 of the best Class C RVs with a king bed layout.

Why Choose a Class C RV with a King Bed?

There are a number of reasons to choose a Class C RV that has a king bed inside of it, but there are also a number of reasons to choose something different. Here are some of the many reasons why you may or may not want a king bed in your Class C RV:

  • It will feel more like home . Perhaps you already sleep in a king size bed and aren’t ready to sacrifice your comfort, just because you are on the road. This is not an unreasonable request, and king beds are extremely popular inside of just about every type of RV. This simple layout choice may help you feel more comfortable while you are camping, especially if you plan on doing so for a period of time.
  • Plenty of space for you and a partner . If you plan on traveling with your spouse or significant other for any length of time, having a king bed inside of your RV will only help you feel more comfortable. Perhaps the two of you are already used to this size of a bed at home, or maybe you are looking forward to spreading out while on the road. No matter the reason, no one will likely complain about sleeping in a king bed!
  • King beds are often conversions. An important thing to note about finding a Class C RV that has a king bed inside is the fact that they are often conversions from other pieces of furniture. For example, many Class C RVs have king bed layouts, but the beds begin as either convertible sofas or two twin beds with the option to create a king size bed . This gives you more room inside of your RV when you aren’t sleeping, but this may also be a con for some of you. If you are seeking a Class C layout with a true king bed that isn’t converted from another piece of furniture, this is something to keep in mind as you shop.
  • Best for tall RVers . Many people don’t realize that the beds found inside of RVs measure up differently than the beds found in residential homes. More often than not, this measurement is different when it comes to the length of the bed rather than the width. If you happen to be tall, you may find that many RV beds come up short in comparison to your bed at home. However, most king size beds found inside of RVs have an adequate length to width ratio, especially if you are tall!

This is only the beginning when it comes to figuring out why Class C RV with a king bed is right for you. You may be realizing that a king bed might take up too much space in your RV layout, especially if you don’t plan on using your RV regularly.

However, some of you may be on the opposite end of this decision, solidifying the fact that a king bed layout is truly what is right for you and your RV purchase. With all of this in mind, let’s go over some things you need to think about before making your final Class C RV purchase!

What to Consider in a Class C RV with a King Bed?

From the layout to the amenities, there are a number of things to consider in a Class C RV with a king bed. Let’s check out some of the basics now.

Length of RV

One of the first things to consider when shopping for an RV of any style is how long you think you need it to be. Many people assume that bigger is better, but that may not be the case if you are brand new to RVing.

This is because of the fact that, the longer the RV, the more difficult it is to drive . While Class Cs are typically easier to drive compared to travel trailers or other towable rigs, you may find that a shorter Class C is a good idea compared to a longer one.

Not only will you feel safer on the road, but you may also find that it is easier for you to make reservations, depending on where you want to stay. A number of national and state parks, as well as RV parks, may have length limits and reservation issues if your rig is particularly large.

On the flip side, you may be planning on traveling with a large group of family or friends and desperately need an RV that can accommodate everyone. You may only be looking at Class C RVs that are over 30 feet in length with plenty of sleeping arrangements, but just make sure you are prepared to drive it!

Layout and Floor Plan

One of the main considerations you should think about when purchasing a new RV is the type of floor plan and layout you’re hoping for. Given the number of RVs that are on the market today, it’s likely easier than you think to find what you were looking for.

However, this begs the question: do you know what you are looking for? I highly recommend checking out any virtual tours of any Class C RVs that you are potentially interested in. It’s even better if you are able to tour these makes and models in person, at your local RV dealership.

You may know how many sleeping arrangements you need , as this will directly influence your layout. In addition, you already know that you want a king size bed on board, and this has a decent amount of influence on your floor plan as well.

No matter what you were looking for, there’s an RV that is right for you. However, you may just need to take your time deciding on this. Choosing the wrong layout can mean that you won’t enjoy your camping trip to the fullest.

Towing Capacity

If you are helping to bring along a traditional vehicle or boat on your camping adventures, you should keep an eye out for a Class C RV with a high towing capacity. You never want to carry more than your RV can handle, so you should know just how much weight you need to be able to carry.

Most Class C RVs can tow the average vehicle or boat, but you may need to pay particular attention to the towing capacity of your RV if you have a large car or truck that you want to bring with you. Keeping an eye out for Super C RV options is also a good idea, as these makes and models tend to have higher towing capacities.

Bed Position and Convertibility

While you are obviously here to find a Class C RV with a king bed on board, do you know exactly where you want it and whether or not you want it to convert from another piece of furniture?

While this ties into your overall layout, you should have a good idea as to where you want your king bed to be, as well as where you want the rest of your sleeping arrangements to be. You should also know if you want a solid king size mattress or one that converts from a Murphy bed or twin bed layout.

Do you want a dedicated master suite with your king size bed, or are you okay sharing your bedroom area with some bunk beds ? Do you want a convertible king bed so that you have more interior living space during the day, or do you want a dedicated king size bed for a more comfortable mattress? This might sound too much but these are all important considerations for you to address.

Boondocking Ability

While it may not be one of your initial priorities, you should keep an eye out for Class C RVs that have the ability to camp without utilities, or otherwise camp off-grid. Also known as boondocking, dry camping is a necessity for many campers, especially if you consider yourself an adventurer.

Not all RVs are equipped for boondocking over a long period of time, but you can always add on amenities or additional features to make your RV the ultimate off-grid home. Some of these features include additional batteries, solar panels, all-electric model options, and more.

You may want to shop for a Class C RV that already prioritizes boondocking accessories and amenities, especially if you know this is something you want to do. However, if you only plan on camping at RV parks or campgrounds, you may not need to worry about camping inside of your RV without utilities.

Luxury Amenities

Speaking of boondocking, there are a number of additional amenities for you to consider before making your final RV purchase. One of these types of amenities falls under a luxury category, as many RV manufacturers build RVs as either standard or luxury models.

While boondocking amenities may be considered luxurious and will not be included in the initial purchase price, you should also ask yourself the question if you want something that feels more high-end. There are a number of ways that RVs accomplish a sense of luxury.

For example, you may gravitate to a Class C RV that has a luxurious interior design, and multiple high-end amenities as standard features, or you may opt for an upgraded chassis option. No matter what you were looking for, knowing whether or not you want an RV that feels luxurious is a good idea to start.

The main thing to keep in mind? A luxury RV is going to cost far more than a standard one. If your budget can support an RV that has luxury features, then you should definitely get what you want. But know that it comes at a price!

Diesel or Gasoline

A long-standing argument in the RV and motorhome community has to be whether or not you should choose a diesel or gasoline engine for your Class C RV . Many people argue that a diesel-powered RV is the way to go in the long run, given your overall savings. However, diesel Class C RVs are always more expensive compared to gasoline-powered ones.

This is arguably one of the more rudimentary decisions for you to make before you purchase a Class C RV. You should decide whether or not you want gasoline or diesel fuel, but there is no real correct answer for this question.

While gasoline Class C RVs are less expensive up front, the high fuel price may leave you hurting in the long run. However, diesel fuel tends to be less available compared to gasoline, and the high initial purchase price may mean that diesel Class C RVs are out of the question.

Finally, choosing a Class C RV with a king bed inside has to cost something. You should know how much you can pay for any type of purchase, especially a purchase as large as an RV. Having a rough estimate in mind before you start shopping is always a good idea.

Depending on the make, model, and final amenities that you choose, a Class C RV ranges widely in price. You can get something for as little as $80k, or you can choose a huge and luxurious Super C for over $500k. It all depends on what you are looking for and what brand you go with!

No matter what, you should remember that the initial price you see quoted on an RV website is not going to be the final price you end up paying. Whether you add on options or not, there’s typically always something that drives up the price before the contract is finalized, so keep this in mind.

Do you have your list of wants and needs for your new RV? Let’s start shopping! Here’s our list of 10 of the best Class C RVs with a king bed.

Best Overall: Thor Four Winds

  • Not too long, making it easy to drive
  • A convertible king bed layout as well as a true king bed layout
  • Fair price point
  • If you want a diesel engine, look elsewhere

If you are looking for a Class C RV that has just about everything in it, and at a fair price, then you should check out the Thor Four Winds. While this Class C offers 12 different floor plans, only two of them have king bed layouts. However, both of these options are compact and have a lot to offer. Let’s check it out in more detail now.

There’s a convertible two twin beds to king bed layout at 26 feet long, and a true king bed layout at 29 feet long. As our list of some of the best Class C RVs with King beds continues, you will notice that most of the options come in floor plans that are larger than 30 feet long.

This may not be something you are looking for, so the Four Winds offers you options that are on the shorter end of the spectrum. This makes this particular Class C RV easier to drive , and the interior still feels open and large.

Speaking of interior design, the Four Winds offers a couple of different color palette options, all complete with easy to clean upholstery and flooring. Given the fair price point of $127-145k, the interior design feels comfortable and homey, with just a touch of uniqueness.

You can get your Four Winds outfitted just how you like it, given that it has solar prep built-in. You can add solar panels, an onboard generator, and so much more, though you will need to add that to your initial purchase price. Given that it starts at a fair amount to begin with, adding what you want shouldn’t be the end of the world.

Is there a catch to our best overall choice? The main issue with the Thor Four Winds is the fact that it is a gasoline-powered rig and not a diesel one. You may be searching for a diesel engine, so unfortunately this means your search will have to continue. However, the Four Winds is reasonably priced with plenty to offer those of you who don’t need a diesel engine!

Best on a Budget: Coachmen Freelander

  • RV isn’t too long or too short
  • Plenty of sleeping arrangements for all
  • Budget-friendly price doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice anything
  • King bed floor plan option may not work for you

While the Coachmen Freelander only offers 1 floor plan with a true king bed inside, it is a great Class C RV option for those of you on a budget. The Freelander is often considered one of the best starter RVs for many new customers, especially those who are trying out a Class C RV for the first time. Let’s look at it in more detail.

The king bed layout for the Freelander rests on a 30 foot frame, on a Ford Chassis, and powered by a gasoline engine. The floor plan needs some particular attention paid to it, as it may not work well for everyone. The bathroom is located at the back of the RV, and you’ll need to pass through the bedroom to reach it.

However, the interior design feels spacious and open besides this minor inconvenience, and the kitchen in particular feels like it has a nice flow to it . You can also enclose the bedroom area off from the living area so that you can get a good night’s sleep.

Speaking of interior design, the Freelander doesn’t have a design that is particularly luxurious. However, given the fair price point on this RV, the interior is still easy to clean and maintain, while still offering vinyl flooring and faux marble countertops in the kitchen.

You can sleep an average of five to seven people inside of this compact RV, which is why the full size residential fridge in the kitchen comes in handy. By converting the dining area and the sofa in the living room, you should have a number of places to sleep if you want to bring friends and family along for the ride.

There’s also an optional package that makes this rig 4 season ready and better for boondocking. While it will drive up the initial purchase price and may be outside of your budget, this is definitely something to consider if you want to use your rig all the time!

Best Diesel Rig: Jayco Seneca

  • All 3 floor plans offer King beds
  • Spacious and beautiful interior design
  • Large and powerful diesel engine
  • High price point and nearly 40 feet long

If the Coachmen Freelander left a lot to be desired in terms of its fuel type, you should definitely check out the Jayco Seneca for its diesel engine option. Starting at $312k, it is definitely not a budget-friendly option, but it is an outstanding choice for a number of other reasons.

The Seneca offers three different floor plans, all of which included a king bed. You can get a power lift bed option, giving you the option to recline or otherwise be lifted. But that’s only the beginning in terms of what this RV has to offer on its Super C chassis!

All 3 floor plans are on a chassis that is just under 40 feet in length, making it spacious inside and not too long when it comes to driving. In fact, you can sleep anywhere from 6 to 9 people on board this RV, depending on which floor plan speaks to you the most.

Not only are Jayco RVs well-built and thoughtful, but they are also beautiful in terms of what they have to offer on the inside. The interior design of the Seneca is elegant and charming, especially given the fact that this is a luxury rig. You can tell in the details, whether it be the cabinetry or the flooring, or even the matching shower surrounds and tile backsplashes.

Plus, you can truly build the Seneca how you like, with boondocking capabilities, theater seating, kitchen additions, and so much more. Again, most all of these additional amenities, are at an additional cost, but it may be worth it to you so that you get the RV that you have always wanted.

Besides the price, there’s likely not a catch with this particular RV. It is spacious, unique in its floor plans and interior design, and it has a robust diesel engine. If you can afford it, definitely check out the Jayco Seneca!

Best for Boondocking: Tiffin Allegro Bay

  • Two floor plans offering King beds
  • Spacious, beautiful, and one-of-a-kind interior
  • Plenty of customizations for boondocking or off-grid camping
  • High price point, with even more amenities to be purchased

Just like the Jayco Seneca, the Tiffin Allegro Bay offers a luxurious Class C RV on a reliable diesel engine chassis. It is also nearly 40 feet long, making it potentially larger than what you were looking for. However, Tiffin offers its customers a number of different customization options, making it ideal for those of you hoping to boondock. Let’s check it out in detail now.

Super Cs are starting to become more common than simple Class Cs, and for good reason. They offer equal parts power and luxury, making them ideal for those of you searching for a new and spacious type of RV. The Allegro Bay is designed with living space in mind.

Even though it only offers two floor plans, you can get a king bed as an option in either one. However, this does mean you have an additional cost from the get-go, as the king bed will not be included in the initial purchase price. It’s likely just a drop in a larger sea of additions that you will want, especially when you consider boondocking.

Tiffin tries to set you up for success , especially when it comes to boondocking in this very large Class C RV. However, solar prep and panels are not included as standard features. You can get them installed by Tiffin, but keep in mind that it will not be included in your initial purchase price.

One of the best additional features that you should consider for your Allegro Bay is that you can get an all-electric version. This eliminates the need for propane and gives you more freedom when it comes to boondocking. You also have an unlimited hot water heater and large holding tanks, which likely means you can extend your great trip.

Most Luxurious: Newmar Super Star

  • Stunning and one-of-a-kind interior design
  • Plenty of storage, inside and out
  • Four different floor plans, all with King beds
  • Extremely high price point puts this one out of the average person’s reach

Just like the past two options on this list, we have another luxurious Super C to take a look at. The Newmar Super Star is the most expensive option on this list, starting at $455k. While this price point may be outlandish for a number of RV shoppers, the Super Star offers a number of king bed floor plans.

With 4 floor plans all offering king size beds, the sky’s the limit when it comes to choosing a Super Star floor plan that works well for you. There’s an option with a master suite, including an ensuite bathroom , or you can get a bunk bed layout for the kiddos.

It’s obvious that you are inside another class of motorhome when you step on board a Newmar Super Star. The interior design is intricate and stunning, with plenty of wood details and luxurious upholstery. Plus, the kitchen truly feels like it belongs in a residential condo or apartment.

There’s a lot to love about this Class C RV for full-time living as well. You can get washer and dryer prep and all available for plans, and you can even add on a dishwasher should this be something you’re interested in. Plus, this Super C has an extremely high towing capacity and the diesel engine makes it more efficient than a gasoline one.

Besides the price, you may not want this RV given the fact that it is quite large. This is truly like driving around a small apartment, given the size of its engine and the interior features. However, if you are looking for an absolutely stunning RV, the Super Star may be a good choice for you.

Most Storage: Dynamax Isata 5

  • A Super C with a lower price tag than others
  • Compact king bed floor plan
  • Plenty of interior and exterior storage
  • Interior design isn’t special

With a king bed floor plan starting at $262k, the Dynamax Isata 5 has a lot to offer. This is another Super C, though the king floor plan rests on a 35-foot frame, making it slightly easier to drive than the prior options on this list. Let’s check it out!

One of the best parts about the Isata 5 is the fact that it has an extremely private king bedroom suite. While there’s only one bathroom on board this RV, the king bed is located at the very back of the rig, with its own door and no other need for anyone to walk through in the night.

The rest of this RV is open and spacious, with optional Theater seating or recliners, and a well-appointed kitchen. Arguably, the biggest fault in the Isata 5 is the fact that it doesn’t have a particularly inspired interior design, especially when you consider the price point of this RV.

However, there’s still a lot to love about this particular Class C RV, especially when you consider the diesel engine and ample storage found both inside and out. You have a 10,000 pound towing capacity, making it easy to bring along whatever else you want. And the exterior storage gives you plenty of space for your bikes or kayaks .

While it only sleeps up to 5, there’s still ample room for everyone to hang out inside, especially if the weather isn’t ideal outside. Plus, there are a number of upgrades you can make to make this RV feel even more comfortable, so long as you are okay going beyond the initial purchase price!

Most Compact: Jayco Greyhawk

  • Jayco brand is popular
  • Compact king bed floor plan
  • Pleasant and convenient interior design
  • Single king bed floor plan may need work

Likely one of Jayco’s more popular RV options, the Greyhawk has one king bed floor plan that’s perfect for a number of lifestyles. Not only does it feel like home on the inside- it all comes on a frame that is under 30 feet. Let’s take a look at this compact Class C now!

Jayco is here to prove that you don’t need a Super C in order to have a king bed on board. The Grayhawk offers a single floor plan with a king bed, though you can get it with theater seating or a larger refrigerator as an additional option. Overall, this floor plan works well for full-timers just as well as Weekend Warriors.

While this rig can sleep up to 7 people, you should keep in mind that the only bathroom on board is located through the king bedroom. This may be an inconvenience for those of you looking for a floor plan with a more accessible bathroom , but having the ability to sleep so many people is also a plus.

Overall, The Grayhawk has a lot of fantastic interior touches not offered by other options in this price bracket. You can find backsplash in the kitchen, wood detailing above your storage compartments, and much more. Jayco always offers its customers unique interior design, so this is a great perk for those of you who might be looking for it.

The price point on this option is also fair, especially when you consider all of the warranties offered by Jayco. However, the single king bed floor plan may not work well if you need a bathroom with more separation from the bedroom!

More Than One Bed: Thor Pasadena

  • 3 floor plans, all with King beds
  • Interior design is elegant and comfortable
  • Plenty of features included in the initial purchase price
  • Large rig and large price point

Yes, we are back to looking at Super C options, which means that you might want to keep scrolling if you are looking for something smaller. However, the Thor Pasadena has plenty to offer RVers, especially if they’re seeking a floor plan with more than one bed. Let’s take a look at it now.

Offering 3 floor plans with tilting and lifting King beds, the Pasadena has another floor plan option with two bunk beds as well. This gives you plenty of sleeping space for everyone, especially if you plan on bringing the kids with you on your camping trip.

Starting at $347k, this is yet another RV that may just be too expensive to consider. However, there’s enough luxury and convenience in the Pasadena that it’s worth a second look, especially when you take a look at the interior design.

There’s dark cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, and so much more to love about this Class C. With the bunk bed model, you can sleep nearly ten people , and there’s tons of space to hang out inside during the day. Plus, your king bedroom is private in just about any floor plan you choose.

Another perk to the Pasadena is the fact that it has a number of great features, included standard. It has solar panels, a 15,000 pound towing capacity, plenty of exterior storage, and a chef’s kitchen.

However, at the end of the day, it may simply cost too much and be much larger than what you are looking for. If you are planning on camping with a number of people, or simply want a more spacious rig to live in full-time, then definitely check out the Pasadena.

Best Conversion: Winnebago View

  • Diesel engine and Mercedes-Benz chassis
  • Modern and attractive interior design
  • Two twin bed floor plan converts into a large king size bed
  • High price point, especially considering the size of the RV

The Winnebago View is only 25 feet long , but it offers a twin bed conversion floor plan that allows you to sleep in a king size bed. Starting at $197k, the Winnebago View is a great choice for those of you seeking a diesel engine without a Super C sized RV. Let’s check it out in detail now.

You can only sleep up to four people on board this RV, but you likely don’t want to sleep any more than that given the size of it. This Class C RV is ideal for couples or families, and it has a luxurious finish that suits a variety of lifestyles.

There are curved storage cabinets throughout, finished in an attractive wood grain, and the kitchen has everything you need to cook up a delicious meal. The color schemes offered by Winnebago are contemporary and modern so that you don’t go traveling without the comforts of home.

You will have plenty of exterior storage as well as interior storage, which means you don’t have to worry about leaving anything behind. In addition to this, the View comes equipped with solar prep, and you can add a number of boondocking features to this Class C RV.

Given the fact that it is more compact and built on the safe and reliable Mercedes-Benz chassis, you may want to take this RV boondocking more often than not. It has a lot to offer if you’re an adventurous couple, especially when you consider that the twin beds convert into a large king bed!

However, this RV may be too small depending on the number of people you want to travel with. In addition, the price point may feel a bit high, especially when you consider just how small and compact this RV is. It’s definitely something to think about as you shop!

Runner-Up: Entegra Coach Esteem

  • Elegant and charming interior design
  • Fairly private king size bedroom
  • A few upgrades worth considering
  • Higher price point and gasoline fuel

If the Thor Four Winds was not as impressive as you wanted it to be for our best overall choice, our runner-up option may suit you better. The Entegra Coach Esteem is a Class C with a lot to offer, though it does only have a single king bed floor plan. Let’s take a closer look at it now.

Just under thirty feet long, the king bed floor plan on the Esteem has a lot to offer both the full timer and the casual RV user. While the bedroom isn’t completely private, the bathroom is accessible without having to walk entirely through the bedroom, giving it a bit more coziness compared to other options on this list.

The interior design is where the Esteem shines over the Four Winds. It has plenty of details throughout, including kitchen backsplash, wood finishes, and upholstery which is unique. Plus, there are plenty of upgrades to consider as well.

You can get a larger refrigerator, a dual fuel refrigerator, and upgraded rims for your rig. Additionally, Entegra Coach offers theater seating and an additional AC unit , should you find that you need to stay cool!

All in all, the Esteem has a lot to offer, though the price point may be higher than what you were looking for. However, this is an extremely well-rounded Class C RV, especially when you consider the size and luxurious features found throughout!

Final Thoughts

Finding a Class C RV with a king bed is easier than you think. Whether you want it for your weekend camping trips or an extended stay, with our list you can find an option that works well for you.

Having a king bed means that you’ll have the perfect place to sleep at the end of a long day!

There are hundreds of RVs and travel trailers on the market, but here we will look at the 10 best travel trailers under 30 feet for 2024. If you only plan on traveling with your family, travel trailers under 30 feet will do the trick.

By purchasing a smaller travel trailer, you will save money and enable yourself to spend that extra money on your vacation!

Things To Consider When Buying A Travel Trailer Under 30 Feet

Family size, accommodations, and CCC (cargo carrying capacity) are the primary factors to consider when looking at travel trailers under 30 feet.

The CCC is tricky sometimes. It might not take much for a mid-size family to overload it. Keep in mind, that we’re sticking with 25′ to 30′ travel trailers to limit the broad selection.

If you’re raising a family, you probably know what you need by now. Space constraints are one thing, but what about food? Is there enough pantry space, fridge space, etc.?

It’s more about what’s inside the travel trailer (and your family’s specific needs) and less about its length in many cases.

10 Best Travel Trailers Under 30 Feet: 2024 Models

If a used model isn’t your thing, here are ten of the best travel trailers under 30 feet, all of which are the latest models or the latest version of specific models. Enjoy.

1. East To West Silver Lake 25KRD

East To West Silver Lake 25KRD Exterior

Our Pros and Cons

✅ Fantastic CCC with a ton of storage options, seating, and living space

⛔ There is a sub-set of RVers who just don’t like split bathrooms, of which this is one

  • Length:  29′ 10″
  • UVW:  6,288 lbs
  • GVWR:  9,435 lbs
  • CCC:  3,147 lbs
  • Tongue Weight:  635 lbs
  • Sleeps:  6

The East to West Silver Lake 25RD is a prime example of doing a lot with a little. It may sleep only six, but the seating is exceptional, with a large, jack-knife sofa and U-shape dinette, all across from an entertainment center that includes a comfortable fireplace for those cold evenings.

The bathroom is a split, but the dual-entryways make up for it, centering everything based on your choice of where to enter the RV. There’s plenty of storage room throughout as well, with a very spacious pass-thru and storage under the dinette.

2. Black Series HQ21 Balcony

Black Series HQ21 Balcony Exterior

✅ Incredibly durable chassis and exterior with a fantastic off-road setup

⛔ Double bed is a little smallish for a 27′, 10,000-lb travel trailer tank

  • Length:  27′
  • UVW:  6.733 lbs
  • GVWR:  10,000 lbs
  • CCC:  3,267 lbs
  • Tongue Weight:  1,000 lbs
  • Sleeps:  4

The HQ-21 Balcony is built like a tank with survivability in mind. A 400Ah battery paired with 600 watts worth of roof-mounted solar panels will keep you going in the wild.

The chassis is hot-dipped, galvanized steel, and the RV includes an independent suspension system and 265 x 75 x R16 off-road tires

The interior and exterior LED lighting illuminate an internal aesthetic that defies the outward appearance. The warm, soft, and comfortable interior is inviting, with lounging cushions for the dinette, a double bed, a full dry bath, and a surprisingly large living space.

3. Coachmen Northern Spirit 2455BH

Coachmen Northern Spirit 2455BH Exterior

✅ Exceptional amount of kitchen counter space

⛔ Bathroom is a little cramped

  • Length:  28′ 11″
  • UVW:  5,728 lbs
  • GVWR:  7,600 lbs
  • CCC:  1,872 lbs
  • Tongue Weight:  790 lbs
  • Sleeps:  8

The floorplans within the Northern Spirit all share one thing in common, an incredible amount of counterspace. This is far more essential than it sounds. After all, an RV that is capable of sleeping 8 people will often require some serious cooking.

Though the bathroom is small, it has a large shower and is small because it shares half the width of the trailer with double over double bunk beds. The latter is always a luxury when they make them that large. All in all, this is a fantastic camper for mid to large families.

4. Airstream Flying Cloud 28RB

Airstream Flying Cloud 28RB Exterior Travel Trailers Under 30 Feet

✅ Incredible interior aesthetic with a ton of storage throughout

⛔ Lack of counter space and CCC

  • Length:  28′
  • UVW:  5,000 lbs
  • GVWR:  6,000
  • CCC:  1,000 lbs
  • Tongue Weight:  500 lbs

Ah, the classic Airstream. A list of travel trailers wouldn’t be complete without throwing one of Airstream’s many models in for good measure. The Flying Cloud 28RB is a very nice addition, with a black and brown interior aesthetic that meshes well with the aluminum exterior.

The bathroom is a split one, but that’s something prospective buyers should get used to when looking at this specific size range. The good news is, there is plenty of seating space and, though it lacks panoramic windows, they are well-placed and let in a lot of light.

5. inTech Terra Willow

inTech Terra Willow Exterior Travel Trailers Under 30 Feet

✅ Built from scratch with an aluminum, cage-like structure welded to an aluminum chassis

⛔ Split bathroom with a tight fit in the toilet section

  • Length:  26′
  • UVW:  5,850 lbs
  • GVWR:  7,500 lbs
  • CCC:  1,650 lbs

inTech is a growing brand, but sometimes, it’s good to go back to the beginning, starting with the inTech Terra Willow , the brand’s original floorplan. There’s no denying that this is a seriously “unique” looking camper. The closest match to its exterior design is the Airstream Basecamp.

Though it sports an interesting look, this RV was made for going places where no hot-top exists. It’s an adventure RV, with a welded aluminum frame and interior furnishings welded directly to it.

Power and durability are essential markers in the inTech lineup, and the Terra Willow certainly qualifies.

6. KZ Sportster 270THR

KZ Sportster 270THR Exterior

✅ Six-foot, dual-opposing rollover sofas with excellent functionality, even after extensive use

⛔ TV mount over the sink is a little weird, making watching TV a chore if someone is in the kitchen

  • Length:  30′ 8″
  • UVW:  5,860 lbs
  • CCC:  3,160 lbs
  • Tongue Weight:  980 lbs

Sure, the KZ Sportster 270THR breaks the mold by being a few inches over 30′, but we couldn’t avoid throwing this fine toy hauler in the mix. When the sofas are rolled back, there is enough garage space for a sizeable ATV or UTV. It also makes for an excellent party platform when combined with the ramp.

The screen flap at the mouth of the garage will keep the cool breezes flowing, without the biting insects. The king bed is huge and yet, there is still plenty of space all around it, including flanking wardrobes.

7. Outdoors RV Blackstone 260KRS

✅ Stunning, antique interior aesthetic is a genuine pleasure to look at and experience

⛔ Semi-private bathroom is oddly placed and will take some getting used to

  • UVW:  7,720 lbs
  • GVWR:  11,000 lbs
  • CCC:  3,280 lbs
  • Tongue Weight:  850 lbs
  • Sleeps: 4 to 6

The reason for the YouTube video, and not the floorplan, interior, and exterior shots, is the fact that the Outdoors RV Blackstone is brand spanking new!

It looks incredible, especially the Mountain series, internal aesthetic, which is a rich wood theme that makes the RV feel like a log cabin on wheels.

There are two models, the KRS and the KVS, both of which offer the Mountain Series and Titanium Series. Either way, the interior looks the same. It’s also one of the most spacious RVs in its class, with plenty of room to move about.

8. r-pod RP203

r-pod RP203 Exterior

✅ Full exterior Bush Kitchen, w/flat-top grill, spray port, and prep station

⛔ Bathroom is a tight squeeze and on the opposite end from the master bed

  • Length:  25′
  • UVW:  5,169 lbs
  • GVWR:  7,725 lbs
  • CCC:  2,556 lbs
  • Tongue Weight:  725 lbs

The r-Pod took the teardrop camper look and magnified it to much larger proportions. Many teardrops feature a large, panoramic window over the bed, and r-Pods have the same.

If you fancy watching the moon and stars move across the sky, while lying in bed, this is the RV for you.

The butcher block countertops are nice and sturdy, though the counter space is a bit lacking. The kitchen, dinette, and master bed take up two-thirds of the interior, however, they still leave a lot of living space in between, which is a fine luxury in a 25′ camper.

9. Heartland Sundance 264FKBS

Heartland Sundance 264FKBS Exterior Travel Trailers Under 30 Feet

30 foot travel trailer with king bed

✅ Azdel laminated sidewalls feature exceptional durability

⛔ Bathroom entrance is right in front of the bunk beds

  • Length:  30′ 11″
  • UVW:  6,618 lbs
  • GVWR:  9,830 lbs
  • CCC:  3,180 lbs
  • Tongue Weight:  1,030 lbs

It’s always good to see an RV that includes a large front kitchen and the Sundance 264FKBS has that and more.

The queen bed is on the back half of the RV, and features a load of space around it, thanks to the slide.

The bathroom is nearly central, and you might wake up whoever is sleeping in the bunks, thanks to the proximity of one to the other. However, it’s a sizeable space, with a large shower that has plenty of head space as well.

10. Bigfoot B25RQ Twin

Bigfoot B25RQ Twin Exterior

✅ Built for extremes, including cold weather, with heavy insulation and a wide body

⛔ The woven fabric walls are an interesting aesthetic, but may not be a good vibe for everyone

  • Length:  25′ 6″
  • UVW:  4,863 lbs
  • CCC:  2,637
  • Tongue Weight:  610 lbs

Bigfoot RV is a Canadian company and, judging by its moniker and where it’s made, is fit for extreme conditions. They are very well insulated, so there’s no need to fear camping in North Minnesota throughout the worst part of winter.

The interior features marine-grade fabric that covers the walls, adding a unique aesthetic and an additional layer of insulation. Even the windows are thermal-pane for comfort in both warm and cold locations.

Like Scamps, Olivers, Casitas, etc, the entire camper is basically two sections of fiberglass, eliminating the potential for leaks.

Pros and Cons Of Travel Trailers Under 30 Feet

Travel trailers are a great choice for traveling with family or friends on your next road adventure. The range of sizes, weights, and floorplans can be daunting to the first-time RV buyer.

The trick is to narrow the search by size, which is what we are talking about here in this article – camper trailers under 30 feet to be exact!

Pros Of Travel Trailers Under 30 Feet

Some of the best perks of travel trailers under 30 feet are:

  • individualized sleeping spaces for all your camping guests, including yourself
  • less time converting dining spaces or couches into beds only to have to convert them again in the morning for breakfast
  • lower towing requirements for your vehicle
  • easier to maneuver when driving and parking
  • more campsite options because of the shorter length of the camper trailer
  • some models offer roomy bunks that will each sleep at least two adults easily

But when we are talking about keeping our length to under 30 feet, some comfort, space, and convenience often come at a price. For travel trailers, the trade-off is being able to tow with a smaller-sized truck or vehicle.

Cons Of Travel Trailers Under 30 Feet

Some disadvantages of travel trailers under 30 feet are:

  • decreased amount of available storage space
  • oftentimes the master bed is against a wall, meaning one of you has to crawl over the other for a midnight bathroom run
  • breaking your bed down to covert it back to a dinette for breakfast the next morning
  • having curtains instead of doors in the bedrooms may become annoying because of the lack of privacy

If you are traveling with young children, you might want to shop for a bathroom with interior and exterior entrances. Also, consider opposing double-slide-out floorplans as it really opens up the camper trailer for comfortable living areas that will be shared by the whole family.

Are Extended Warranties for RVs Worth It?

Today’s RVs are increasingly more complex, and with more things to go wrong, the need to protect your investment is more important than ever.

Based on RV Warranty claims records, more than 3 out of every 10 RVs will need major repairs in only their second year on the road. This skyrockets to 8 out of 10 in their fifth year.

We bought a warranty through Wholesale Warranties for several reasons:

  • We can cancel the warranty at any time and get a prorated refund
  • We can transfer the warranty to the new owner if we decide to sell our RV
  • There are no mileage caps on our policy
  • We can use repair shops all across the country
  • We can use a mobile repair company right at our campsite
  • The price is way better than most dealerships
  • We could finance the cost of the warranty
  • With parts and labor prices increasing all the time, we have peace of mind

RVs can be a huge investment and regardless of which brand you choose repairs and roadside assistance are inevitable. Making the additional investment of an extended warranty will pay off in the years to come.

Some RV brands use the term ‘bunkroom’ if the bunk beds are located in a separate room, and there may be as many as three or four bunk beds, depending on the floor plan.

When choosing a bunkhouse travel trailer under 30 feet, you need to check the following:

The size of the bunks (twin, full or queen)

The total available sleeping capacity

The available living space and compact floorplans
