Stylish travel clothing is hard to find, but these companies do a great job of combining practicality and femininity too. Whether you’re an avid globetrotter or a newbie nomad this is our essential list of the best travel clothing brands for women!

Best Travel Clothing Brands

Table of contents.

Confession: I overpacked all the wrong clothes for 5 years before I finally started traveling carryon only on my long term travels .

I saw other travelers, predominantly male travelers, traveling around the world in a small little backpack, and I was envious of them – they seemed to move so freely without a bunch of baggage. I wanted to be like them. Traveling light.

However, my situation was the exact opposite. I was traveling with way too much stuff and somehow I never felt prepared for the destinations I was visiting. Based on limited packing advice online at the time, I chose clothing that was either too technical, low quality and consequently not practical for long term travels, or just not my style at all. To sum it up, I didn’t feel like my best self.

If you also feel unprepared while traveling, check out my guide to stop overpacking .

The Eddie Bauer Departure Shirt is lightweight and moisture-wicking, perfect for travel! Paired with Rebecca Minkoff Backpack and Taos Star Sneakers

In 2011, I set off on a mission to figure out how to choose the best travel clothing without sacrificing my personal style or skimping out on functionality. One year later Travel Fashion Girl was born. The idea was to show female travelers how they could be fully prepared on their travel while also feeling good about their clothes, too.

I made it my personal goal to start packing smarter, traveling lighter, and to bring the right things for my trips.

I eventually discovered that the secret to packing the right clothes for a trip was to choose things that were practical but things that also made me feel good about myself. The ideal trifecta for travel clothes are items that feature form, function, and fashion, too. While the majority of time you don’t need specialty “technical, utilitarian clothing”, travel and outdoor brands do offer so much functionality when traveling. Their fabrics tend to be lightweight, breathable, packable, wrinkle resistant, quick-drying, and so much more than your average garment.

Unfortunately, many times the designs leave alot to be desired for. They can be masculine, childish, or unattractive. The solution is to look for regular garments with technical features and combine those items with a few of the most fashionable travel clothing options available.

What are the best travel clothing brands?

Eileen fisher, royal robbins, non-travel clothing companies that are amazing for travel, anthropologie.

While stylish easy care travel clothes can be hard to find, I’ve found several companies that do a great job of combining practicality and femininity. Here’s my list of the best travel clothing brands for women:

Icebreaker is a traveler and reader favorite for merino wool base layers , but this brand has other merino clothing (for both men and women), such as jackets, dresses, t-shirts, and even underwear!

If you’re traveling in cold weather, thermals are the secret to packing light and Icebreaker offers some of the best ! (Trust me, I keep buying less expensive brands then I end up spending more money because I always come back to Icebreaker.) Specifically, merino wool is a miracle fabric for winter because it’s moisture-wicking and odor-resistant to keep things fresh but also breathable.

The most popular Icebreaker thermal bottoms are the Oasis Thermal Leggings and the Oasis Thermal Top , which can be layered underneath your winter clothing.

I also love their classic Icebreaker Tee , which can be worn casually to hike and camp or even tucked into a skirt and dressed up with jewelry and cute sandals.

Wearing  ibex Wool Aire Down Jacket ,  Bernardo Hooded Jacket  paired with  Zella Leggings  and  UGG Lorna Boots

The  ibex packable down jacket  is a new find I’ve fallen in love with. I was shocked at how warm I was in this jacket despite how thin and lightweight it is.

I’ve worn it in temperatures ranging from 25F – 40F and layered it only over a J Crew Tee and separately just over a merino wool thermal. I’m so impressed that I now take it with me everywhere whenever I need extra layers!

Do you really need “travel” clothing?

For most types of travel, you won’t ever need specialty travel clothing. You just have to follow some simple guidelines to shop your own closet. ( Download my free guide here .) On the other hand, there are some trips that require clothing with more technical fabrics and construction such as active adventures, long-term travel, or round-the-world trips.

If you’re going on vacation, certain types of travel clothing can also help you pack lighter and more efficiently, too.  Many times, the fabrics in the clothing are breathable, quick dry, compact, and lightweight. Others offer clever ways to get more use from your clothing such as reversible features or multi-way styles.

Enjoying  Rome  in my  Gevomir Halter Summer Dress with my  Rebecca Minkoff Crossbody Purse and Taos Plim Soul Sneaker

The challenge is that most of the brands that create functional clothing forget to think about the needs of the woman wearing the clothing. Sometimes I think they forget the woman part entirely and just make smaller versions of mens clothes.

Over the years, I’ve tried just about every brand out there, in search of the trifecta of fashion, form, and function and I’ve found that some work far better than others. That’s why you’ll hear so much about certain brands repeatedly on the blog – they’re just so good in comparison to the rest. And that’s also why you never read about certain  other  brands – I’m not a fan of gimmicks and I know you aren’t either.

I would like to know what brand of grey flat shoes you are wearing in the photo.

Alex

Hi NikkiB, I am wearing my Skechers Pureflex Skechers Mary Janes flats: https://amzn.to/3jPVJi2

Kathi

Good piece, thanks! Another brand that you might mention is Sympli, a Canadian line of clothing. It’s spendy but the fabric and quality are outstanding. I have several of their basic pieces and all make great, non-wrinkling travel options. The only drawback is that they’re not always fast-drying, so I bring them on short trips or trips where I won’t be changing hotels every night.

Hi Kathi, thank you for your comment, so pleased you enjoyed the post!! Thank you for sharing your review of the brand Sympli with us! 🙂

Darlene

I love Sympli, but the fabric is heavy. If you are concerned about the weight of your suitcase, only bring a couple of pieces.

NickNgaruiya

Thanks, for that. This is the really good article for the traveler. Who wants to travel anywhere and they have no idea which type of clothes should take it.

Hi Nick, thank you so much for your lovely comment, so pleased you found it helpful!! 🙂

kate

These all look like great brands, but all US companies. I guess most of your readers are in the US but the rest of us could do with some help too! Ordering from the US can be expensive, with import duties, plus returns are problematic so what about including some great European brands?

Hi Kate, thank you for taking the time to share your insight! Let me look into this for you 🙂

Tania Danilenko

It has probably been said a million times already, but EnCircled is da bomb. Their Dressy Sweatpants, Chrysalis Cardi, Evolve Top and Everyday Twist Top, and you’re good for the weekend!

Hi Tania, thank you so much for sharing your insight! 🙂

Suzanne

And how about sophisticated plus size travel wear in great fabrics? Unicorn. 😉

Phebe

Suzanne, search for “plus size” here at TFG – there are several articles written by several of us who are members. Hope that helps you!

CathyC

He best travel clothing I have found is Tilley. It is packable, can be washed and hung to dry overnight and lasts forever! Their travel jersey is versatile enough to wear casually or dress up .. cant be beaten as far as I am concerned!

alex

I”m sorry, this stuff is just yoga clothing and much of it is either really cheap, or cheap and slutty. You’re going to get on a business class seat in that Anatomie stuff? Seriously. Prana is fine, but isn’t there somebody out there that makes sophisticated clothing that is still in packable fabrics?

Hi Nancy, sorry you feel that way. We’ll let you know if we find anything more suitable to your needs.

Karen Mortazavi

I think Nancy’s comment is a little harsh…..but, I would like some great travel clothes that are not clingy and you don’t have to be pencil thin to wear. I’m not a plus size but I am curvy so many of these clothes are not going to look good on me. Any other ideas for clothes with some structure but won’t wrinkle?

Linda

I love theLuLuwrap It is the perfect travel accessory. It’s so versatile you can wear it eleven different ways easily creating a chic and stylish look for any ensemble, anytime, anywhere!

Sheila

Linda…could you link to this? I’m trying to find it but there are several things that sound kind of like it and not sure which item yoyre referring to. Thanks!

Linda

Also great is TravelSmith catalog!

thanks for the tip!

Sara

Icebreaker dresses are my go-to for travel! I also love SmartWool: a little pricier but lasts even longer!

alex

Great brands!! Love both of them!

Stylish travel clothes for women that are chic and comfortable

by Sylvia | Apr 12, 2024 | 9 comments

No matter whether you are travelling by air, land or sea, you will want to look effortlessly chic while ensuring you are comfortable throughout your entire journey. Below, you will find the best travel clothes for women and outfit inspiration for all of your trips, whether you’re taking a quick road trip or a long haul vacation.

If you are going on a trip soon, we’d love to hear about where you are going. Read on for a travel capsule as well as the best airport outfits.

Travel clothes for women

I normally travel a lot and love to share some of my tips on how to build the perfect fashionable travel wardrobe to make fashionable travel easy.

I believe that dressing in a stylish way for travel is just as comfortable and easy as flying in an old t-shirt and cargo pants or sweats.

But one of these two options makes a better first impression! Don’t worry, I’m not asking you to wear anything too fussy or high maintenance.

In fact in the image a little further below below I’m wearing a t-shirt and pants, but I’ve elevated my style through the print on my top and by adding silver shoes.

Travel clothes for women: best travel outfits

You may consider getting a few designated travel outfits. Investing in stylish travel clothes for women can help you to put together a “stylish travel clothes uniform”. You’ll also find your travel outfits work well for day-to-day wear and running errands.

Before you build the perfect women’s travel wardrobe for your needs, consider these 3 points below when choosing your own signature travel outfits:

Best travel outfits for planes

1. fabrics for traveling.

The material of your clothing makes all the difference in the world when choosing travel clothes for women! Natural fibers like cotton and linen wrinkle easily, so you may wish to avoid wearing 100% linen or cotton fabrics if that bothers you. The best wrinkle-resistant fabric options include:

  • Polyester (although you may wish to consider whether you will be too hot as this doesn’t breathe)

A blend of any of these with a natural fiber like cotton would be perfect, giving you the stretch you need for long period of sitting while still looking crisp.

I’m wearing comfy airy pants (similar here and here ) and I make the outfit more stylish with Rollies shoes (similar pairs here and here ). Also check out this similar tee and suitcase .

When it’s a bit cooler I will add a short stylish jacket too like this one .

2. The best fit for your travel wear

Loose fitting, easy tailoring is the best choice when traveling, especially regarding your pants or bottoms of choice.

You don’t want to deal with tight, constricting pants when you’re in a small cabin for a few hours.

Choosing materials with some stretch to them further adds to your comfort level. Eileen Fisher is a wonderful source for travel clothes!

3. What to wear when traveling – Color

Go with patterns or darker tones when traveling.

You’re likely to be crammed into a public seat that may not be 100% clean. And coffee spills from those wobbly tray tables happen.

If you’re traveling to a foreign country, darker or earthy, neutral colors help you blend in and look more low-key, too. Save the white clothes for when you get there.

Travel clothes for women: must-haves all stylish ladies should travel with

Now that you’re thinking about the best travel clothes for women, below are some of the best options for pants, tops, dresses, skirts, shoes and accessories to choose from this season, as well as a travel capsule wardrobe.

1. The best travel purse ever

Let’s start with your bag. Your carry-on purse for travel needs to hold more than you normally would carry.

Documents, valuables, your iPad or some magazines and maybe a small makeup kit are some things you should have in your bag.

A tote is great for travel because it’s so easy to load up. But a crossbody bag is also excellent, especially for keeping it secure when you need your hands free for other things.

Safety and security will be a key priority when you travel. You want to make sure that even if you are in busy markets or in places where pick pocketing may be a problem, that your belongings are secure.

The Travelon brand is highly recommended for travel bags with anti-theft features.

Or, you could try the Baggallini crossbody (below), which comes in a good choice of colors, and has an anti-theft design. Reviewers say it is the perfect size and weight for travel.

The TUMI tote is another stylish option that would be perfect for weekends at home or travelling.

And, for packing your suitcase, investing in some packing cubes means you can easily organize everything so you can put together your outfits upon arrival without any rummaging through everything you’ve packed.

2. Travel scarf or shawl

A scarf or shawl ALWAYS travels with me, even in summer. Airlines don’t hand out blankets or pillows on flights as much anymore, particularly if you’re traveling in short-haul or domestic economy.

A scarf or shawl will keep you warm and comfortable, work as an airplane pillow when rolled up and will add some chic to your outfit when you arrive.

A blanket style could be the perfect option because you can use it as a blanket or head rest on the plane. Then, when you arrive, you can use as a shawl to keep you warm on chilly evenings, or as a beach towel or a picnic blanket.

Or another great choice, particularly if you are heading to a destination where you don’t want your valuables in plain sight if to choose a travel scarf with a hidden pocket, such as the infinity scarf (below).

3. Best travel shoes

Choose a pair of flats that are comfortable.

Bear in mind that you are likely to have to take your shoes off to go through security. So, you may prefer to have a slip-on style rather than laces.

I would make sure your travel shoes double up as really comfortable walking shoes. The Sperry sneaker (below) come in a choice of colors and neutrals, and feature a molded footbed so they should keep you comfortable while travelling and sightseeng.

A pair of white sneakers is a classic that will go with everything from your shorts to your summer dresses, and the Vionic sneakers (below) also have great arch support.

We also love the slip-ons below which come in a good choice of colors and will keep your feet cool and feature an interesting, on-trend sole. Slip-ons are a great idea at the airport in case you need to take your shoes off for security.

Silver shoes are a good travel choice because metallics act as a neutral and will go with everything else in your closet so you don’t need to travel with too many pairs of shoes.

4. Women’s travel shirts

A great button-down isn’t just a good travel option for men. It can look great worn with pants for your journey. Then, you can wear with shorts or over your swimsuit or your dress as a cover-up when you arrive for your vacation.

5. Travel t-shirt

T-shirts can be the basic core of any wardrobe, and your travel closet is no exception. You can wear them to travel in and team them with shorts and skirts when you arrive. Or, you can wear it instead of a pajama top to sleep in.

I’d stick to quality fabric without any logos on the front, so you can team with lots of pieces from your suitcase. Opt for something you can dress up with a statement necklace or scarf, or down just with sneakers and shorts.

6. Flying clothes: Travel cardigan

No matter where you are traveling, you are likely to need a cover-up in case it gets a little chilly on your journey, or for when the sun goes down in the evening.

If you choose a cardigan in a neutral shade, it should go with most outfits in your suitcase.

7. Lightweight women’s jacket for traveling

You won’t want to be taking too many jackets on vacation with you as they take up suitcase space, so make sure the one you do choose is comfortable and versatile.

Of course, the best travel jacket for you will depend very much on where you are going. While a blazer will be perfect for the south of France, for example, you are unlikely to want such a dressed-up option on a safari in South Africa.

If you choose a blazer, I think you can wear it beautifully with pants and a pair of sneakers for the plane. Then, for a night out on vacation, you could team up with sandals or heels.

Natural fiber like linen will crease, but I think that’s part of the charm of linen blazers. Or you could opt for a piece with a wool mix for cooler climates, or in a polyester mix if you are worried about it creasing.

The J.Crew blazer (below) looks smart, but the relaxed linen fabric keeps it comfortable.

You could also think about a denim jacket, which would go well over your summer dresses.

8. The best women’s travel pants

Many of you will prefer to travel in a pair of pants rather than a dress. I would tend to avoid jeans as they aren’t particularly comfortable if you want to have a snooze on the plane!

A pair of drawstring pants, such as the ones by Lenny Niemeyer (below) is a good option for both traveling and sightseeing.

It’s a good idea to look for pants that have an elasticated waist so you don’t feel constricted during your journey. Another option could be the wide leg pants (below) which should keep you cool if you’re heading off on a sunny vacation.

Or, how about choosing a comfy pair of leggings to travel in? You can wear it with a loose tunic to make sure you’re comfortable.

10. The perfect travel dresses

Do you prefer traveling in pants, or do you prefer the feeling of coolness and freedom you get from a comfortable dress?

If you do choose a dress, we would look for one in flexible, stretchy fabric such as jersey so you don’t feel restricted on your journey.

11. Travel skirts

Skirts can be a great staple in your travel closet. You could opt for a cotton A-line knee-length style for an easy style to wear with sneakers. Midi or maxi lengths also look relaxed and stylish on vacation.

For traveling, we would stick with a knee-length or a midi. You don’t want trailing skirts to get stuck anywhere while you board and deal with your luggage.

Airplane outfits for the classic and casual woman

This classic and comfortable travel look starts with a relaxed-fit pair of pants or jeans and a pair of sneakers.

Plane clothes for a modern-chic style

A modern-chic look can be one of the most comfortable and easy to pull off. Go with monotone neutral colors with an occasional splash of color.

Tailoring is important and comes in the form of cropped pants, or a silhouette that is a little more fitted. It’s the most minimal of all the styles and can mix and match quite well with other pieces. Add a cardigan or the linen-mix blazer we featured earlier if you want another layer.

Plane outfits for long haul travel: What to wear on a long flight

While all of the travel clothes above are very versatile, if you are traveling long haul, you are likely to want to try to get some sleep.

Therefore, comfort is especially important. You could choose a stylish leisure set which is as comfy as pajamas , but looks more like daywear. You can always wear as separates when you get to your destination.

The leisure set (below) comes in a choice of five colors. Reviewers describe it as a fantastic outfit for the price.

Choose a yoga-style boot-cut athletic bottom or a tight capri or legging. Many, like the one featured, are higher-waisted and have a built-in band to hide the belly.

Layer with a longer-length lightweight pullover, tunic or sweater to have a very chic athletic look that also hides flaws well.

The short coat below would also look great worn over a long T-shirt dress.

Of course, what you wear and what you pack will vary depending on where you are traveling to. For warmer climates, a loose-fit dress in a natural fabric can be a stylish, cool choice. If you’re heading somewhere warm, a light-colored, neutral outfit can look great. You could dress it up for evenings out with some statement gold jewelry.

Great decision! Portugal is beautiful. I still live here (in Luz, which I love) although I travel a lot but I’m here in spring and autumn. I got that from Zara a few seasons back.

If one is flying long-distance and has a problem with not just ankles but also feet swelling from extended sitting, be sure to wear shoes that allow for that. When I travelled overseas in winter months, I used to wear low-heeled boots that were a half- or full-size bigger, filled up with a couple layers of heavy socks. If my feet swelled in flight, I could always take off a pair of socks to accommodate them. (This layering also kept my feet warm and blister-free while doing a lot of walking after arrival.)

The Best Travel Steamers to Take on the Road, Tested and Reviewed

By Erinne Magee

All products featured on Condé Nast Traveler are independently selected by our editors. However, when you buy something through our retail links, we may earn an affiliate commission.

Even the most seasoned travelers open their suitcase after landing and find themselves with a daunting task ahead: deciding if their wrinkled clothes can get by with a thorough shake out or if reinforcements are needed. Of course, most hotel rooms are equipped with irons, but the task of setting up the ironing board and fitting each article of clothing just right can feel overwhelming. Not to mention, some pieces are too delicate for harsh heat. But is it easy to travel with a clothing steamer instead?

When I set out to find the best travel steamer a few years ago, I admit, I was hesitant about such a practical item taking up precious carry-on space. But when traveling as a family of four, as I often do, an ironing board set-up can quickly become a catch-all for toys, shopping bags, or electronics and simply gets in the way. Since I began testing these steamers, it’s rare I leave home without one.

Of the 13 steamers I've tested, my favorite models have one thing in common: a metal soleplate, allowing you to touch the steamer to the clothing to smooth out tricky spots. While steamers are mostly celebrated for their ability to get the wrinkles out, they also kill 99 percent of bacteria. Important to note, most steamers come with the recommendation of distilled water to keep the sediment buildup at bay, which I did not use as most of us don’t have easy access to it when we travel.

This article has been updated with new information since its original publish date.

My top picks:

Best overall steamer, best lightweight steamer, best long-lasting steamer, best foldable steamer, best steamer for international travel.

  • Most leakproof steamer

Best two-in-one steamer

How i tested:.

Each steamer has been tested on jeans, khakis, T-shirts , button-down shirts , linens, blouses, and jackets based on the following criteria:

  • Size/packability : Does it fit into a weekender or carry-on?
  • Power/efficiency: Is it faster and easier than setting up and using the hotel iron? Or at least just as good?
  • Water capacity: How many times do you have to refill the reservoir to steam an entire outfit?
  • Leakproof: Will you be late to dinner while waiting for the wet spots to dry?
  • Durability/longevity : Is the quality going to withstand enough trips to make the steamer worth packing and purchasing?

Can I travel with a portable steamer?

Most travel steamers will fit into a carry-on and can go through TSA without any issues; just make sure any remaining liquid from the reservoir has been emptied before getting to the airport.

Is a portable steamer worth it?

If you are going to a formal event or know you’re packing clothes that are famous for wrinkling, then yes, it's worth adding to your suitcase. A new perk I’ve recently come to love about steamers is I actually pack less clothing knowing I have a way to freshen up an item I want to rewear. This makes packing a simpler capsule wardrobe all the more possible. As someone who typically only uses a carry-on, I do value my space and find the steamer to be an easy item to remove should I be running short on room. Below, the six best travel steamers to pack on your next trip.

Image may contain: Appliance, Blow Dryer, Device, and Electrical Device

I have a new favorite steamer. While the Nesugar handheld steamer used to be my most-used, the Proctor Silex 2-in-1 compact garment steamer has moved into the top spot for me. It’s only seven ounces heavier than the Nesugar model and steams continuously for almost 10 minutes without needing to refill the reservoir. Plus, it works effectively on every type of garment—even jeans with stubborn wrinkles. Often we don’t know where or how many outlets our hotel or Airbnb will have, so the 10-foot cord on this steamer is much appreciated, as it allows you to move around comfortably. Surprisingly, this is also the most affordable steamer at $20. If you are someone who will only travel with a steamer for special occasions, this one is a safe choice.

Weight: 1.63 lbs. Water tank capacity : 4 oz. What I like most: Affordable, de-wrinkles all fabrics, heats up in 45 seconds, effective brush attachment Where there's room for improvement: Reservoir can be hard to completely empty

Image may contain: Appliance, Device, Electrical Device, and Blow Dryer

I've used this steamer regularly for over a year, and very much appreciate the smart design. The Nesugar portable steamer weighs less than a pound, but produces a solid stream of steam. With a small reservoir, I was surprised the water lasted for almost 10 minutes, allowing for five items to be de-wrinkled (though it was not powerful enough for jeans). There is a button to turn the steam on, but you don’t have to hold it down, which I like. The metal soleplate allows for an ironing option, which is what I ended up using to smooth out the jeans. An adjustable head not only makes the steamer compact, but gives you the option to steam at different angles. Originally, I wondered if frequent adjusting of the head would loosen the feature, but it is still going strong after countless trips. The unit also comes with a wall mount so you always have a place to hang it at home.

Weight: 12.8 oz. What I like most: Lightweight and packable, adjustable head, comes with a wall mount Where there's room for improvement: Works best on lighter fabrics

smart travel clothes

One of the more expensive steamers I tested, the Conair is definitely the winner in terms of power and functionality—a T-shirt can be good as new in less than a minute. While the steamer can blast wrinkles from jackets, you can also lower the setting for more delicate items. The Conair turbo is the only steamer I tested that had various settings to choose from. It even has a built-in creaser, if that’s your thing. Because the steamer is more powerful, it uses more water, so refills are necessary after a few items (depending on the fabric and intensity of the wrinkles, of course). The Conair Turbo would’ve taken the top spot if it were more compact for traveling (its dimensions are 13" x 8" x 6", making it a bit bulky for carry-ons). If you find yourself using an iron a lot at home, this steamer may actually be your best bet.

Weight: 3.2 lbs. Water tank capacity : 6.6 oz. What I like most: Can de-wrinkle anything, various settings to choose from, quick heat-up Where there's room for improvement: Hard to fill with its small opening, on the larger size for travel

smart travel clothes

This is by far the most aesthetically pleasing steamer I tested and ranks number two for packability. With a 30-second warm up and automatic steam (no trigger to hold), the Seekclass was off to a good start, but it did take four minutes to steam one pair of pants and I had to utilize the metal soleplate in order to get the job done. The reservoir is tiny, so I had to refill it before I could finish the pants, too. Because the hole to refill is so small, it’s also hard to get out any remaining water when you’re ready to pack up the unit. Knowing this, it’s smart to let the steamer dry out at your earliest convenience to keep any build-up from forming.

Weight: 1.4 pounds Water tank capacity : 3.5 oz. What I like most: Its foldable handle is great for travel, metal soleplate, quick heat-up Where there's room for improvement: Leaks when on its side; has small, hard-to-fill reservoir; heavier material requires at least one refill

International travelers will be happy about the automatic dual voltage with this steamer. While the heat up is quick (about 20 seconds), the reservoir of the steamer is painfully hot—so be sure to only hold on to the handle. Unfortunately, the high temperature of the reservoir requires a pause between fill-ups, but you can get three items done with one tank. My favorite feature is the automatic steam from the get-go, which means your fingers get a rest from holding down the trigger button that comes with many other steamers. The main reason this steamer remains on the final list is for its appeal to those who frequently travel abroad.

Weight: 1.2 lbs. Water tank capacity : 3.4 oz. What I like most: Dual voltage, collapsible handle for travel, automatic heat-up (no power button), no trigger needed to release steam Where there's room for improvement: Cannot promptly refill reservoir because the tank gets so hot

Most leakproof

Image may contain: Blade, Weapon, Appliance, Blow Dryer, Device, Electrical Device, and Razor

I tend to gravitate toward the hybrid steamers that can also be used as an iron. The large iron plate on the Steamery Cirrus 3 is almost as efficient as a full-size iron, but I could only steam three items with one tank of water. Something that stands out with this steamer is its ability to remain leak-free. This is one of the most important features for me as I tend to travel with a busy itinerary, which means I may be steaming in a hurry and the last thing I want to do is take out a hair dryer to dissolve the wet spots left behind by the steamer. I even gave it a bit of a shake test and nothing spilled. Where this steamer falls short, honestly, is the price.

Weight : 1.8 lbs. Water tank capacity : 3 oz. What I like most: Large iron plate, completely leakproof, quick heat-up Where there's room for improvement: Expensive price point, reservoir empties after three garments

Image may contain: Device, Electrical Device, Smoke Pipe, and Appliance

Rounding out our list of the best travel steamers is this hybrid steamer/iron that comes highly recommended by senior editor Megan Spurrell . “I was drawn to the Nori steamer because of its sleek design—two-in-ones are always ideal for travel, and not needing an ironing board seemed like a plus,” Spurrell says. “I put it to the test the day of my destination wedding this past month, on both my dress and my husband's linen suit. It did get the job done, and both functions (steaming and ironing) deliver.”

The unique, compact steamer features two aluminum plates that can simultaneously iron the front and back of a garment, getting the job done in half the time. Another perk: It offers six fabric settings (polyester, silk, wool, cotton, denim, and linen)—so no matter what you pack, you can rest assured it will be wrinkle-free and free of any damage when it's time to wear.

Weight : 1.4 lbs.  Water tank capacity : 1 oz.  What I like most: Double plates, dual voltage, automatic shut-off after 10 minutes of no movement Where there's room for improvement: Its tiny reservoir means it's best reserved for smaller jobs; it can be tiring to hold while smoothing out a very crinkled shirt.

16 Breathable Clothing Pieces to Keep You Cool in Heat Waves and on Summer Trips — From $15

Beat the heat with linen sets, breathable athleisure, moisture-wicking T-shirts, and more.

Travel + Leisure / Tyler Roeland

Summertime brings with it a major rise in tourism – and temperatures. With record-breaking heat already sweeping its way around the world, the way we approach travel planning is important and ever-changing. So, I’m never one to shy away from religiously checking my weather app before a trip in order to pack the best cooling clothing and accessory options to beat the heat.

After tackling 100-degree Fahrenheit temperatures in Arizona while visiting the Grand Canyon for the first time, I realized that I would need to take serious inventory of my travel wardrobe ahead of my annual summer retreat to Europe in August (fortunately, the weather didn’t deter from the magic of seeing the Grand Canyon, and retreating to the sumptuous, air-conditioned spas at The Global Ambassador and Ambiente, A Landscape Hotel most definitely helped). I’m already mapping out the items I’ll need to fit into my tried-and-true packing cubes as I fulfill my bucket list wish to finally visit the sun-drenched shores of Hvar, Croatia , Sicily's famed San Domenico Palace, a Four Seasons Hotel from "The White Lotus," the family-owned, two-Michelin-starred Rossellinis restaurant on the Amalfi Coast, and more. It’s a lofty trip that requires a lot of packing consideration for the heat.

My very intentional checklist to navigate this multi-city itinerary includes fabrics that drape off the body, hats with built-in mesh for ventilation, and a few of my favorite breathable and airy staples. Polyester and cotton are also my go-tos for stretchy and airy outfits.

No matter your final destination’s temperature, here are some great options to stay prepared, from lightweight short sets to moisture-wicking t-shirts and everything in between.

Linen Short Set

There’s nothing quite as convenient as a ready-made outfit – one that already matches and does not require ironing. This linen short set from Zeagoo makes casual days on the beach a breeze, with shorts that feature an elastic waistband, an adjustable drawstring, and deek pockets. The button-down shirt can be paired with a cute tank or T-shirt, and it’s long enough to tuck in if you’d like.

Airy Oversized Button-down Shirt

To help beat the heat, this oversized, airy button-down from Big Dart is the perfect pick. Match it with your favorite pair of shorts or pants and a bold necklace to make it pop. It comes in a variety of colors, including a vibrant royal blue and rose color that sets the tone for a colorful summer. The oversized, loose fit and roll-up sleeves make it a great cooling option that's easy to put on and take off.

Wide-leg Linen Pants

When I’m climbing those steep stairs like Cersei did on a "Game of Thrones" tour in Dubrovnik in a few months, I’m going to need some very breathable clothing. A summer staple, wide-leg linen pants are the heat-fighting superhero of clothing that never fails. This flowy option from Siliteelon comes in an airy capri fit with an elastic waistband and pockets. The linen-cotton material makes it moveable and light. Pair it with your favorite pair of sandals and a tank top.

Casual Tank Dress

Lightweight polyester and spandex make this tank dress from Auseilly a surefire bet against any warm day. Equipped with pockets and long enough to wear with or without pants, you can choose from over 25 colors and prints for your next getaway.

Moisture-wicking T-shirt

This moisture-wicking shirt from REI Co-op is my must-have for trips to warm climates. The soft jersey fabric provides excellent moisture-wicking and UPF 50+ protection. Wrinkle-resistant and lightweight, it’s the perfect accompaniment to a pair of jeans or shorts – and will quickly dry even the worst of sweat stains.

High-waisted Running Shorts

Whether you’re aiming to get a run in or just in search of a pair of comfortable travel shorts, this high-waisted option from The Gym People fits the bill. A slit on the outer layer of the shorts provides a great range of movement while walking, and you can also store your cards in a handy hidden waistband pocket. Made with a moisture-wicking fabric, you won’t have to worry about any lasting sweat stains.

Linen-blend Matching Pant Set

Pack this super chic linen set for your next pool or dinner party. A sleeveless, square neck top and wide leg bottoms make it an ideal cooling outfit with a lot of breathability. Cotton rayon fabric is soft on the skin, and pockets in the pants are always a plus, especially while traveling. You can mix and match the top or bottom with alternate styles, too.

UPF 50 Cooling Bandana

With chemical-free cooling fabric, this cooling bandana shields against sun damage with solar protection yarn. Its cooling properties begin once you wet it and last for up to three hours. It can be worn as a bandana, neck drape, or headband, and has a very durable fabric — especially when it’s wet.

Lightweight Tank Top

The well-loved activewear brand Vuori has recently launched a new women’s travel collection , and this Villa Cami is one of my favorites from the line. A lightweight tank is a hot weather clothing must-have, and the easy fit option is naturally wrinkle-resistant and made with partially recycled stretch woven fabric. For another budget-friendly option, this loose-fit tank from Automet on Amazon bids well when temperatures rise.

Non-slip Slides

One of the worst feelings in hot weather is the slipping and sliding of sweaty feet in sandals. These no-slip open-toe slippers from Menore are super lightweight and breathable, with a thick sole that provides shock absorption and great cushioning for long walking days. These shoes have helped prevent that dull achiness after very active travel days, and they come in a number of vibrant colors I love, including rose and yellow. For another more dressed-up shoe option, I rely on these comfortable Donald Pliner mules on Amazon. The ventilated macrame fabric provides great airflow and the small heel makes walking long distances more manageable.

Lightweight Hooded Tank

A relaxed, breathable fit gives this hooded tank all the perks of a workout top to head to the gym or walking excursions while you travel. The popular pick on Amazon comes in a variety of colors and functional pockets.  I like to pair it with my favorite lounge pants from Vuori on layovers, or, these sandy river shorts from Columbia that feature 100-percent nylon fabric that has UPF 30 protection against the sun’s rays. They come in a variety of colors and are currently on sale on Amazon.

Breathable One-piece Swimsuit

Left on Friday

I fell in love with Left on Friday’s swimwear ( as did other T+L writers ) as soon as I saw its range of styles for all body shapes and sizes. The Sunday Suit provides all the considerations that many one-piece suits often miss: stretchy, quick-drying lycra, thin, buttery-soft material that doesn’t trap heat on hot days, and a range of colors that just screams, “ Summer is here. Get into it! ” They have a large range of bikinis, too, with full or cheeky coverage bottoms to choose from. For extra sun protection, check out their SunDays fabric line that protects from UV rays and comes in a range of styles that includes a long-sleeved mock neck top.

Button-up Swimsuit Cover-up

I love versatile clothing, and this pick from Dokotoo checks all of the boxes by functioning as both a swimsuit cover-up and a day dress. The material is lightweight with short sleeves and slits on each side that provides a great cooling effect when walking. You won’t have a hard time finding your color of choice for your beach or pool day too, as there are over 20 hues and prints to choose from. For beach days, I also adore this long sarong from Hunza G , with super soft fabric and UPF 50+ fabric. No matter the coverup, my go-to sunglasses to shield from the sun are any of the eclectic designs from designer Poppy Lissiman . I’m currently obsessing over these rose-colored crimped frames with CAT1 UV-protected lenses.

Ventilated Sun Hat

Sun hats come in clutch in any hot weather environment but can cause even more body heat due to lack of ventilation. This unisex hat from Columbia is the answer to all your hat hiccups, with a moisture-wicking headband and UV-blocking sun protection fabric. The sun-shielding hat has an adjustable chin strap and mesh ventilation for those days when your hair and head need to breathe. And speaking of hair, hot weather always makes flyaways come out to play. I like to slick mine down with GIOVANNI’S Styling Gel , available on Amazon.

Sweat-wicking Activewear Dress

I adore this flowy, lightweight dress from Columbia, particularly for its Omni-Freeze material that has accelerated wicking for hot temperatures and UPF 50 fibers that guard against UVA/UVB rays. A stylish gathered design at the shoulders makes it an easy pick to transition from active days to casual nights and the comfort stretch polyester doesn’t require an iron. The dress comes in a number of colors , including a vibrant coral color called “juicy” and a more neutral option called “safari” that can match just about anything.

Oversized Shirt Dress

Scotch & Soda

An oversized shirt dress allows for great airflow and ultimate comfort. The fun print of this dress from Scotch & Soda reminds me of the best beach summer days, with multicolor embroidered seashells and palm trees. It also perfectly matches the pink-themed retreat of the Amalfi Coast’s prized Palazzo Avino , where I’ll be spending a weekend – perfect for a photo opp. The linen fabric makes it lightweight, and it’s versatile enough to dress up with heels or down with sandals for a beach day.

Moscow What To Pack

Moscow is the capital of Russia. In preparation for your visit, pack plenty of warm clothes, a camera, and comfortable shoes.

No matter what you have planned for your Moscow adventure, these luggage options are ideal for a short or long-term stay.

Warm clothes.

Moscow, like most of Russia, can get quite cold, especially in the winter months. Travelers who are new to the city, especially those who hail from warmer climates, should bring a heavy coat, gloves, hats, and warm socks. In the weeks leading up to your trip, check the weather forecasts to get a sense of the temperatures you can expect during your stay.

Clothes to Pack

  • Dress Shirts
  • Casual Shirts
  • Sweatshirts
  • Laundry Kit
  • Leisure Shoes
  • Hiking Boots
  • Dress Shoes
  • Collapsible Tote

Moscow is home to the Kremlin, the seat of the country’s government. The city is also the site of historic churches, museums, and monuments. Make sure you pack a camera, but pay attention to the signs, especially outside churches and government buildings. If you’re told you can’t take pictures, don’t. The local police won’t hestitate to confiscate your camera if they catch you breaking the rules.

Electronics to Pack

  • Laptop/Tablet
  • Electronics Chargers
  • Travel Adapter
  • Film/Memory Card
  • Electric Toothbrush

Comfortable Shoes

Moscow, like most capital cities, requires visitors to do a fair amount of walking. Chances are, you’ll spend most of your days heading from one area of the city to another. This can put a lot of strain on your feet. To prevent blisters and pain, pack a pair of comfortable shoes. Your feet will thank you.

Toiletries and medicine.

Few things are worse than arriving in a city halfway around the world only to realize that you forgot your medication. Moscow has plenty of clinics and hospitals that you can go to in an emergency, but it may take some time to fill a prescription, especially if it’s something that requires your doctor’s permission. To avoid a headache while in Moscow, double and triple check that you have your medications before you leave.

Moscow is a modern, industralized city, but the people there may not share your preferences for toilet paper, toothpaste, deodorant, and the like. When packing your luggage, make room for toiletries. You can always pick up more while you’re there, but it’s nice to know you have what you need to take care of your personal hygenie while abroad.

What clothes to wear in Russia?

How to pack for a trip to Russia - winter

Russia is spectacularly beautiful in the wintertime. A dusting of snow covers the palaces, churches and museums, and the icy forests truly look like something out of a fairy tale. But regardless of the magical atmosphere, the outside world is generally very cold. In the cities you will most likely be visiting, winter temperatures are in the range of -10 to -20 degrees Celsius, or 14 to -4 degrees Fahrenheit, but can be even lower.

Layers are vital. For maximum comfort (and safety), bring sweatshirts or hoodies, warm long trousers or extra thick tights, and thermal underwear. A long, warm coat is highly recommended. Not only will it keep you insulated from the cold, but if you slip on the ice it will cushion you and protect your clothes. And of course, it goes without saying that you must bring a hat, scarf and gloves. Ideally, very warm gloves, a fur or wool hat which covers your ears, and a scarf which can be wrapped around your face as well.

Even if the outside world is an icy -30, the inside of Russian buildings remain toasty and warm - heating is generated in a centralised location and switched on in September/October, providing automatic and constant heating for all the buildings in the locality and Russians like it very warm indoors. So, make sure to also bring indoor clothes and lighter layers - a suitcase full of only thick jumpers will do you no favours when you’re inside.

One of the most vital items on your list should be a warm pair of waterproof shoes, as Russia’s sidewalks and streets transform into a quagmire of slush and snow during winter. Shoes should have grippy treads as ice is often more problematic than snow, and the pavement can turn into an uneven mountain of black ice. Make sure to bring warm socks, preferably those sold in hiking/outdoor shops.

For those travelling to Siberia , the weather will be significantly colder, so pack accordingly. If you plan on doing activities such as skiing or snowboarding then bring waterproof trousers, and sunglasses are a good idea if you will spend a lot of time outside in the snow.

Clothes for summer

How to pack for a trip to Russia - Summer

Despite its reputation, Russia isn’t always covered in snow. Summer is the perfect time to explore the country. Take a stroll any time of day or night, appreciate the White Nights in northern Russia, or go on a camping trip. Temperatures are generally in the range of 20 - 30 degrees Celsius, or 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit. Air conditioning is not a common sight in Russia, and Russian people have an innate fear of drafts so even on public transport in the middle of summer, windows are often kept shut. Lightweight and breathable clothing is your best bet, and a sunhat and sunglasses are essential items.

The weather can still be unpredictable, so bring a lightweight jacket and jumper for cooler evenings, and an umbrella too, especially if you’re visiting St. Petersburg . Russians dress modestly so you may feel uncomfortable in anything very short or low cut. To be respectful when visiting Russia’s churches, bring a scarf to cover your head and shoulders and a bottom layer of modest length.

Clothes for going out

How to pack for a trip to Russia - going out

There is a famous saying that ‘good clothes open all doors’ - and it’s safe to say that Russians dress impeccably when going to the theatre, a nice restaurant, or a nightclub. You do not have to bring a tuxedo or an evening gown, as low-key elegance is better than extravagance. For men, a nice shirt, smart trousers and shoes won’t go amiss. And for women, smart trousers and top or an elegant dress, and heels or nice boots. In winter, it is perfectly normal to change shoes at the theatre cloakroom if you don’t want to risk your high heels on the ice. Upmarket Russian nightclubs often have strict ‘face control’ who turn away those who they consider to be badly dressed, so bring a stylish outfit.

TRAVELERS ASK: Can you wear jeans in Russia?

It’s perfectly acceptable to wear jeans in Russia. Denim is enormously popular among Russians and you will be allowed into museums, churches and restaurants wearing jeans. However, Russians love to dress up, so wear smarter clothes for upmarket restaurants, nightclubs or the theatre. Jeans alone are insufficient for the Russian winter, so pack thermal underwear or tights accordingly.

Personal items and toiletries

How to pack for a trip to Russia - personal items

You should bring insect repellent if visiting during summer, especially when travelling to Siberia - mosquitoes and horseflies have a voracious appetite. And don’t forget your sun cream!

Bring tissues, wet wipes and hand sanitiser. Public toilets are not very hygienic anywhere in Russia.

Russia has plenty of toiletry and cosmetic shops, so you won’t be in trouble if you forget your favourite shampoo or makeup. But make sure to bring any medication that you may need, as you may not be able to get it when you’re in Russia. Also, it’s a good idea to double check that your medication is legal in Russia - see Russian Customs Rules .

Bring a few different bags. A travel belt is the best way to safely carry your money and passports, and a small handbag or daysack will allow you to comfortably explore any Russian town or city. Russia uses two pin plug sockets (same as Europe) so remember your travel adaptors. One of the best tips for travelling abroad is to bring an extension cord from your home country with an adapter. Learn more about voltage in Russia .

For travelling on the Trans-Siberian Express or other long distance trains, a good quality portable charger will prove a lifesaver. Bring sleeping clothes which you would feel comfortable wearing while in a public space, slippers or sandals, and earplugs and an eye mask.

And lastly, don’t forget to pack your favourite book by one of Russia’s great writers. There is absolutely no better place to enjoy Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, or Bulgakov than when you’re in Russia - immersed in their culture and history!

WEATHER ALERT

2 flood warnings in effect for 5 counties in the area

Southwest airlines says a key measure of pricing power will be weaker than expected in 2q.

Associated Press

DALLAS – Southwest Airlines, already under pressure from a hedge fund for disappointing financial results, said Wednesday that a key revenue ratio will be weaker than expected because of changes in how consumers book travel.

The airline said it still expects second-quarter revenue to hit a record.

Recommended Videos

However, Southwest said, revenue for each seat flown one mile – a closely watched measure of pricing power – will fall by 4% to 4.5% compared with the same quarter last year. In April, the airline said the decline would be 1.5% to 3.5%.

Costs per mile will rise by 6.5% to 7.5% compared with a year ago, said the airline, which is dealing with rising labor costs.

The Dallas-based carrier said the revenue per mile outlook is worsening mostly due to “complexities” in adapting its pricing to "current booking patterns in this dynamic environment.”

Travel is booming. Airlines expect a record number of passengers this summer, but they have undercut their pricing power by adding more flights and seats. Southwest still plans to increase flying by 8% to 9% over the second quarter of last year.

After losing $231 million in the first quarter, Southwest announced it will end service at four airports and shrink its work force by 2,000 people this year.

This month, hedge fund Elliott Investment Management bought a $1.9 billion stake in Southwest and called for the ouster of CEO Robert Jordan and former CEO and current Chairman Gary Kelly, saying they had failed to modernize the airline's technology and strategy to keep up with changes in travel.

Jordan says he is not resigning , and he promises to unveil a plan to boost profit during an investor day in September.

Elliott said Wednesday marked the eighth time Southwest had lowered financial guidance in 18 months.

“Southwest’s industry-trailing revenue performance is clearly continuing along the same disappointing trend line, despite management’s repeated promises for improvement,” two of the firm's executives said in a statement. “Southwest is led by a team that has proven unable to adapt to the modern airline industry.”

Southwest shares fell more than 4% Wednesday morning before recovering to close down a fraction of 1%. Shares are down about 15% in the past year, while the S&P 500 index is up 28%.

Is your area crying out for a new supermarket to broaden your options and push prices down with a bit of competition?

Last month, the UK’s fourth largest supermarket - Aldi - asked shoppers to get in touch with their views on where it should open new stores.

The discount chain says it received thousands of replies, which it has used to hone its search for new store sites.

At the moment, Aldi has more than 1,020 stores. It says it wants more than 1,500 stores across the UK in the long run.

The 27 areas of priority to Aldi are:

  • Woodford, London
  • Surbiton, London
  • South Croydon, London
  • Notting Hill, London
  • Walthamstow, London
  • Beckenham, London
  • Bromley, London
  • Barnet, London
  • Redhill, Surrey
  • Aldershot, Hampshire
  • Haywards Heath, West Sussex
  • Burgess Hill, West Sussex
  • Chatham, Kent
  • Cheadle, Greater Manchester
  • Chorlton, Manchester
  • Formby, Liverpool
  • Newark, Nottinghamshire
  • Chesterfield, Derbyshire
  • Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
  • Rayleigh, Essex
  • Brentwood, Essex
  • Dorchester, Dorset
  • Clarkston, Scotland
  • Cathcart, Scotland
  • Penzance, Cornwall
  • Warwick, Warwickshire
  • Bath, Somerset

Jonathan Neale, managing director of national real estate at Aldi UK, said: "We want to make high quality food accessible to all, but we can’t do that while there are still some towns and areas that either don’t have an Aldi or have capacity for additional stores.

"We recognise there is huge demand in certain regions for more stores, which is why we decided to get the public’s input on our latest list of priority locations."

Which?, the consumer website and magazine, has ranked Aldi as the cheapest supermarket in the UK consistently this year.

Using a typical list of popular items, Which? ranked Aldi as the cheapest place to shop from January to May - with rivals Lidl coming in second.

However, for a longer list of items and a bigger shop, Asda and Morrisons have typically been the top two for Which? this year.

There could be good news on the horizon for borrowers, as an economist says the Bank of England is likely to cut interest rates in August.

Michael Saunders, a former member of the Monetary Police Committee (MPC), said the Bank has "clearly signalled" it wants to cut rates soon "if data are okay".

He told the Reuters Global Markets Forum that inflation and wage figures would need to align with the MPC's forecasts back in May.

"If so, I would expect the rest of the internal [members of the MPC] to move as a bloc to vote for a cut," he said, saying that markets had been given enough warning.

The BoE  held interest rates  at 5.25% for the seventh time in a row last week despite inflation falling to its target of 2%.

Mr Saunders predicted that the Bank would slash rates seven times in increments of 25 points by the end of next year, bringing the headline rate "close" to what he calls a neutral rate of 3.5%.

"I expect two to three cuts this year, the rest next year - again, depends a bit on the monthly data," he said.

The government has accredited three new forms of ID for purchasing restricted goods and services.

Lloyds Bank Smart ID, Post Office EasyID and Yoti ID can now be used to watch age-restricted films in cinemas, enter gambling premises, or pay for tattoos and tanning salons.

They cannot be used to buy alcoholic drinks in pubs and shops, but are recognised when buying alcohol online, along with tobacco, vapes, lottery tickets and fireworks.

"More UK businesses can now accept our Digital IDs to reduce the risk of fake IDs, increase compliance and improve the customer experience," said Robin Tombs, CEO of Yoti.

He said more than four million people have already downloaded a Digital ID app.

"This is a strong sign that people are ready to embrace reusable Digital IDs and want a more secure, private and convenient way to prove who they are."

Each of the Digital ID apps includes the approved PASS hologram.

Most of us know the feeling of rushing back to your car when you realise your ticket is about to run out.

The good news is, new rules mean you won't have to race back quite as breathlessly in future.

Drivers are to get a 10-minute grace period when their time runs out at private car parks.

The changes are coming in after industry bodies the British Parking Association (BPA) and the International Parking Community (IPC) published a new code of conduct.

However, the AA said it still leaves room for drivers to be ripped off because it misses out "desperately needed" measures such as a cap on charges.

The electric carmaker Tesla is recalling more than 11,000 of its new Cybertruck vehicles after safety regulators found a potentially dangerous fault with its giant windscreen wiper.

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration also said a trim in the boot may be improperly attached.

"Excessive electrical current can cause the front windshield wiper motor controller to fail," the safety administration said in a recall acknowledgement letter.

Tesla said it would replace the wiper motor at no cost to owners.

It comes after nearly 4,000 Cybertrucks were recalled in April to fix an accelerator pedal pad that could come loose.

Mass production of the vehicle, which starts at a price of $79,990 (£63,130), is expected to start next year.

It's not yet known how many trucks have gone to consumers, but the Blade Runner-inspired car has been plagued by problems.

Customers of both Tesco and OVO Energy are entitled to 2,500 free Clubcard points, the supermarket has announced.

The points can be redeemed as a £25 voucher or at double their value with Clubcard reward partners.

Customers can unlock the points by linking their accounts with both companies.

"The cost of living remains a key challenge for households and our partnership with Tesco is one of the many ways in which we are giving back to our customers with rewards that they can spend how they choose," said Mat Moakes, chief commercial officer at OVO.

New customers can link their Tesco Clubcard account when they sign up as an OVO customer, while existing OVO customers can log into their account, go to their profile, click "our partners", and select the Tesco Clubcard logo.

Want to see a show in London this summer without breaking the bank?

You're in luck - as new data has revealed the most affordable musicals to see in the capital right now.

The data, collated by theatre ticket site SeatPlan , shows the most affordable musical to see in London right now is Two Strangers (Carry A Cake Across New York), with the average cheapest ticket price at £17.90.

The rom-com musical follows a British boy (Dougal), who lands in New York for his dad's second wedding.

At the airport, he meets the bride's sister, and a quirky, offbeat love story ensues.

Also in the top 10 are Marie Curie The Musical (£20), Guys And Dolls (£23.90) and Sister Act (£26.40).

Shows are ranked by the average price of the cheapest ticket, with the top ranked show having the lowest price.

On the flip side, the data also revealed the most expensive tickets, by analysing internal pricing data for musicals from SeatPlan.com.

Musicals including Cabaret (£85.10), Mean Girls (£64.60) and Starlight Express (£43.70) make up this list...

If you've been reassured by positive recent news on inflation and a widely anticipated cut in interest rates later this year, unfortunately the Bank of England has a worrying update for mortgage payers.

About three million UK households are still set to witness hikes in their mortgage repayments over the next two years, the Bank has said.

Its Financial Policy Committee (FPC) added there are likely to be "very large increases" of more than 50% for the mortgages of around 400,000 households.

But the central bank stressed that UK lenders are still in a strong position to support households and businesses, even if the economic backdrop worsens.

The concerning update is in the Bank's latest Financial Stability Report.

It also showed that most households have already had an increase in their mortgage rates since borrowing costs began rising substantially in 2022.

Why is the outlook so bad if interest rates are expected to fall?

Interest rates are at a 16-year-high of 5.25%, with the central bank voting to maintain the figure for a seventh consecutive meeting earlier this month.

But many economists have predicted the base rate could be reduced at the Bank's next vote in August.

However, at the moment, around 35% of households with mortgages, or more than three million, are paying below 3% for a range of reasons - like existing deals which pre-dated the recent crisis - and are expected to see an increase between now and the end of 2026.

A typical household rolling off a fixed-rate mortgage before the end of 2026 is due to face a jump of around £180 a month, the report said.

It highlighted that an "increasing proportion" of households have been choosing to borrow over a longer period of time, reducing monthly repayments but leaving them with more debt to service over time.

Higher mortgage rates have resulted in many households and renters reducing their savings, the Bank also found.

PrettyLittleThing is facing more criticism after announcing it would issue refunds on delivery subscriptions for accounts it has banned for returning too many items.

The online fashion giant says it will refund outstanding gift cards and store credit, as well as £9.99 to closed accounts which had already purchased its royalty service entitling them to unlimited next day delivery for a year.

The company said: "We have noticed an extremely high returns rate from a small pool of customers who have demonstrated behaviours that were inconsistent with what we experience with the rest of our customer base.

"The actions taken are not designed to limit our customers who do need to return or deter them from returning, it was taken to address a small proportion of customers who have a high returns rate."

PrettyLittleThing added it does not plan to close any further accounts.

Some customers were not happy with the response, with one posting on X: "This is bullshit my last return was December 2023... and of course you turned off the comments."

Another wrote: "PrettyLittleThing expects us to order our clothes twice because their sizing is off and is closing people's accounts because of frequent returns. What a way to ruin your own business."

Amazon was grabbing attention overnight.

It's become the fifth US company to reach a $2trn market value milestone.

Can you name the others? Answers below!

Analysts are crediting strong demand for technology-related stocks amid the rush for AI.

They also point to the growing hope among investors for a late summer/early autumn interest rate cut by the US central bank.

Amazon's shares ended the session on Wall St almost 4% up at $193 apiece.

The FTSE 100 has had a fairly muted start after falling almost 0.3% yesterday.

The index was one point up at 8,226 in early dealing.

In the wider market, Halfords stock was trading 6% lower.

The cycle sales and motor-focused retailer had earlier reported a fall in annual profits of almost a fifth and said that trading remained "soft".

The message to the market from Currys, the electricals chain, was more upbeat.

It revealed a 10% lift to its bottom line in the year to 27 April and said it was more confident about demand ahead.

Currys shares were 1% down, however, potentially reflecting concerns that its profit performance was not driven by higher sales.

Before I go... the answers to the $2trn+ club question above, as promised - the other members of this elite grouping are: Microsoft, Apple, Nvidia and Alphabet.
