Californian rockers Tesla have announced a US Tour for this spring and summer. The trek will kick off on March 10 in Plant City, Florida and will include stops at the Florida Strawberry Festival and M3 Rock Festival before concluding on August 6 in Monroe, Michigan.

Last August, Tesla postponed several shows due to members of the touring party — including guitarist Frank Hannon — contracting COVID-19. Hannon later issued a statement saying that he had “not been able to move all week” and revealed that he woke up with a 102-degree fever and could “hardly breathe” on the day that Tesla was scheduled to leave for tour.

Tesla played the first two shows of their summer 2021 tour — August 5 in Grants Pass, Oregon and August 6 in Grand Ronde, Oregon — without Frank. Filling in for him was Howie Simon (Jeff Scott Soto, Graham Bonnet, Stryper), who previously stood in for Hannon in September 2018.

In late August, Tesla released the official music video for their brand new single , “Cold Blue Steel”. The clip was directed by Brandon Gullion and produced by Frank Hannon.

In September, Tesla drummer Troy Luccketta announced that he would “take a little time from the road” to spend with family and friends. He was temporarily replaced at the band’s gigs by Steve Brown, the younger brother of former Dokken drummer Mick Brown.

Tesla’s latest album, Shock , was released in March 2019 via UMe. The follow-up to 2014’s Simplicity was produced by Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen.

Absolutely Amazing!! Tesla if you see this you guys are still kicking ass. Band only had one more stop before they go home and wow, it was like they just started the tour. Talk about a fun group of guys having a good time and it shoes big time. I know they have been playing for years but I think they are tighter and sound better than when I saw them in '92. BTW Jeff Keith is from my home town Texarkana and went to a rival High School which is pretty cool because it is not that big.

Only thing i wish i could have made happen is getting to meet the guys. I tried to get a VIP on their website and it would just direct me to purchase concert tickets. Had a blast and hope to meet them somewhere down the road.

The band was at the top of its game! Jeff Keith & Frank Hannon, along with the other stellar members of Tesla, didn't hold back any of their entertainment abilities. This was my first Tesla show, and I wasn't disappointed. The graphic backdrops really added to the concert.

I need to add that both bands before Tesla were also fabulous. I thoroughly enjoyed Brand of Julez and Bad Marriage, especially since this was my first time also hearing them.

I look forward to seeing Tesla on tour again in the future.

Tesla delivered yet another flawless set. The band ripped through the extensive list of hard rock hits that inspire every die-hard fan to sing along unashamedly. Throwing in a couple of tracks from the upcoming new album rounded the set nicely. The openners VOX (voices of extreme) and year of the locust did an admirable job of warming up the crowd. This writer , however, believes that reversing the order the openning bands play would benefit the overall energy of the evening. Buckhead theater is a great venue and everywhere the people were smiling, dancing and having a good time.

Tesla Announce Summer + Fall 2021 North American Tour Dates

Rock icons Tesla have just announced their 'Let's Get Real!' North American tour, a 29-date run that finds the band occasionally sharing the bill with other notable acts, such as Lynyrd Skynyrd , Styx and  Kid Rock , with a couple of festival appearances along the way as well.

"We are so excited and anxious to get back to performing ‘real’ live concerts again. There’s nothing like the energy of being in the same spontaneous moment with an audience of people," began guitarist Frank Hannon .

He continued, "Tesla has always taken pride in being a high energy live band relying on performances without any backing tracks or pre-recorded help We are planning some surprises for our fans on this upcoming tour by playing some deeper Tesla cuts as well as a fresh brand new song we just wrote. Of course we will play the hits as well, but introducing a fresh new track on this return is something we are very excited about!"

The 'Let's Get Real!' tour begins in the first week of August and Tesla will remain on the road throughout much of that month, enjoying a three week break before heading back out in mid-September. There's only three dates on the book for October and the band's trek will conclude with seven stops in November, most of which are with Lynyrd Skynyrd.

TESLA Announces 2024 'Keepin' It Real' Tour Dates

Veteran rock band TESLA has announced U.S. tour dates for early 2024. Titled "Keepin' It Real" , this electrifying musical journey promises to captivate audiences with TESLA 's signature sound and unparalleled stage presence.

"Keepin' It Real" is slated to kick off on January 11 in Immokalee, Florida, with dates currently scheduled through the end of July.

Expressing the band's excitement for the upcoming tour, TESLA said: "We cannot wait to hit the stage and share our music with our incredible fans once again. The 'Keepin' It Real' tour is going to be an unforgettable experience for everyone who joins us."

In a recent interview with Rockin' Metal Revival , TESLA singer Jeff Keith spoke about the fact that he and his bandmates are still enjoying themselves on stage, more than 40 years after the group's formation.

"I will admit that back in the '80s or in the '90s, I could sing things in the regular key of E," he explained. "So for quite some time now, the guys have tuned down a half step, and then there's certain songs that maybe it's tuned down a whole step so I can still sing the same exact melody, but as opposed to what's on the record, it's just tuned down — and drop D, whatever they call it, is as low as you can go; otherwise the strings just get [too loose]. So, you know what? That worked out well for us. And my voice is still holding up. [I] try to take care of it. [I] make sure on days off I'm resting it."

He continued: "We don't do three-in-a-rows anymore; we just do two [shows] in a row and have a day off. So a lot of things like that. With the voice being your instrument, I've really gotta take care of it and just try not to overdo it. And for a guy like me, that's hard to do, but I'm able to do it because I'm just so high strung."

Keith previously talked about TESLA 's decision to tune down its instruments this past July during an appearance on the "That Metal Interview" podcast . At the time, he said: "We started dropping things down to — instead of in E, the key of E, we dropped it to E flat. On particular songs, where I sing really high — I don't even know how I hit the notes back then in the '80s and the '90s — but I think they can drop as low as… there's E flat, and then you can drop as low as D. And on a couple of songs we drop down to the D tuning, so I can sing the same melody but dropped down a whole step. And from what I understand, you can't drop any lower than that, or the strings are so loose [that they are too floppy to play]. So, we just dropped some keys, and then we tried it on a couple of songs and when we even dropped down a whole step, I still can't quite hit the notes [on some songs]."

He continued: "Once again, I don't know how the heck I hit them notes way back then, but all I know is from 'Into The Now' [2004] on, I started thinking about, 'Hey, I've gotta watch out what key we're doing it in, because next thing you know, I sing something that I can't go out there and do it night after night live.' I mean, it is 37 years later, so… [ Laughs ] So, with 'Forever More' , 'Simplicity' — all that stuff — I just started keeping in mind, 'Hey, whatever you write, you've gotta sing it night after night.' Back in the '80s, and stuff like that, I wasn't thinking about it. You just do 20, 30 takes of something, pick the best out of it and go, 'Hey, there you go. That's great.' But I never had the thought in mind of, 'Hey, you've gotta go out there night after night and sing it.' And back then, I could — thankfully — but today, it's, like, 'Hang on a second.' I'm gonna turn 65 in October. It's, like, 'Hang on now.' I'm starting to fill out forms for Medicare and all that stuff. [ Laughs ] So [I've gotta] be careful with what melodies I come up with, because I've gotta be able to do it night after night."

In August 2022, TESLA released a standalone single, "Time To Rock!" A year earlier, the band issued another new track called "Cold Blue Steel" .

In September, TESLA released the official music video for its cover of AEROSMITH 's "S.O.S. (Too Bad)" . The song is a bonus track on TESLA 's live album, "Full Throttle Live!" , which arrived this past May. The LP includes the band's "Time To Rock!" single, plus other songs, all recorded in August 2022 at Full Throttle Saloon in Sturgis, South Dakota.

In September 2021, TESLA drummer Troy Luccketta announced that he would "take a little time from the road" to spend with family and friends. He has since been replaced at TESLA 's gigs by Steve Brown , the younger brother of former DOKKEN drummer Mick Brown .

TESLA 's debut album, 1986's "Mechanical Resonance" , went platinum on the strength of the hits "Modern Day Cowboy" and "Little Suzi" . The 1989 follow-up album, "The Great Radio Controversy" , produced five hits, including "Heaven's Trail (No Way Out)" and "Love Song" , which hit the pop Top Ten.

Neil Young and Crazy Horse cancel tour, Hollywood Bowl show: ‘A couple of us got sick’

Neil Young and Crazy Horse are taking a break from the road, canceling the remaining shows of their Love Earth tour.

Young announced the cancellation Wednesday on his website , citing the health of the Crazy Horse band members, which currently include him, band co-founder Ralph Molina, bassist Billy Talbot and singer Micah Nelson (son of country music legend Willie Nelson). “When a couple of us got sick after Detroit’s Pine Knob, we had to stop,” the band wrote in a statement. It did not name which members were dealing with health issues and did not provide more details about the nature of their illness.

“We are still not fully recovered, so sadly our great tour will have a big unplanned break,” the statement continued.

Fifty years after opening the venerable L.A. club, Neil Young and Crazy Horse reassembled, in all their ragged glory, to perform two of their classic albums.

Crazy Horse announced its Love Earth tour in February. The “Down by the River” group played the Pine Knob in Michigan and were set to play several shows in Canada in July and the Hollywood Bowl in late September. Now it seems those shows are no more — though the band said it is open to playing those missed dates “as time passes when we are ready to rock again.”

“Health is #1,” the statement declared. “We want to stay and do more shows and more albums for you … and for for us.”

The now-canceled tour launched with a San Diego concert in late April, a month after Young reinstated his music on Spotify after a two-year boycott. He withdrew his catalog in 2022 after taking issue with Spotify’s platforming of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” accusing the popular podcast of spreading medical misinformation.

In March, Young wrote on his website , “My decision comes as services Apple and Amazon have started serving the same disinformation podcast features I had opposed at Spotify.”

He added: “I cannot just leave Apple and Amazon, like I did Spotify, because my music would have very little streaming outlet to music lovers at all, so I have returned to Spotify.”

Less than two weeks later, Joni Mitchell — who had followed Young’s lead in 2022 — also q uietly returned to the music streaming platform.

2024 Outlaw Music Festival Tour Launches Without Willie Nelson [Set List + Video]

T he 2024 Outlaw Music Festival Tour launched without its leader, Willie Nelson , on Friday night (June 21) in Alpharetta, Ga., but the show went on featuring sets from Bob Dylan , Robert Plant , Alison Krauss and Celisse.

In place of Nelson’s own set, his son’s band Lukas Nelson and the Family Band performed instead, with a guest appearance by Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks .

Plant and Krauss performed many of their usual selections, including Led Zeppelin ‘s “Rock and Roll” and “The Battle of Evermore,” plus “When the Levee Breaks,” which they recently officially released .

Dylan, on the other hand, brought out a number of unexpected songs, including a cover of Chuck Berry ‘s “Little Queenie,” “Under the Red Sky” for the first time in more than a decade and several songs from his 2012 album, Tempest .

On Friday afternoon, it was announced that Nelson would not be appearing at opening night.

“We regret to inform you that Willie Nelson is not feeling well, and per doctor’s orders, has been advised to rest for the next four days,” their post read . “He is expected to make a quick recovery and join the Outlaw Music Festival tour next week. In the meantime, Lukas Nelson and the Family Band, along with a few guests, will perform a special set to include Willie’s classics and others songs. Bob Dylan, Robert Plant, Alison Krauss and Celisse will continue to perform as scheduled.”

“This year’s Outlaw Music Festival Tour promises to be the biggest and best yet with this lineup of legendary artists,” Nelson said in a previous press statement announcing the shows. “I am thrilled to get back on the road again with my family and friends playing the music we love for the fans we love.”

Other artists who will be performing on this year’s trek include Brittney Spencer, Southern Avenue, Billy Strings and John Mellencamp . The tour will conclude on Sept. 17 in Buffalo, N.Y.
