The Mirpur district of Azad Kashmir, locates the beautiful and the world’s 7 th largest dam, the Mangla Dam. This dam is given the name of Mangla because of the village located at its mouth. You can reach this picturesque spot after a 1.5 hr drive from Islamabad.

11. Toli Pir

This hilltop scenic area is located in the Poonch District of Azad Kashmir. It is located at a height of 8800 ft above sea level. It is at a drive of about 120 minutes from Rawalakot.

Geographical Location of Azad Jammu and Kashmir

AJK has three main divisions and lies to the north of Punjab and the east of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The divisions are Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, and Rawalakot. Muzaffarabad Division is made up of three districts, namely Muzaffarabad, Neelum, and Hattian Bala, with these being further divided into a total of seven sub-districts. Mirpur Division, on the other hand, contains the districts of Mirpur, Bhimber, and Kotli, with these having 10 sub-divisions. Rawalakot, the last division, comprises Poonch, Bagh, Sudhnoti, and Haveli, with 15 sub-districts.

How to Reach Azad Kashmir as a Traveller

We haven’t included how to reach Kashmir directly by air in our tourist’s guide to Kashmir since there are no direct flights to the region. The closest airport for you to land on if you are flying from within or outside Pakistan is Islamabad International Airport. After this, your journey will have to continue by road.

However, while it may take longer, the road trip itself is an attraction with scenic views of the hills and rivers in the area. The journey by road takes around four to five hours from the capital and takes you to Muzaffarabad, which is also the capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. You will cross through Murree Hills on the way. You can choose to drive yourself or catch a bus from Islamabad as buses depart for different areas of Kashmir every 20 minutes.

Weather in AJK

While the southern part of the region is hot in the summers and moderately cold in the winters, the northern areas remain warm in the summers but can get very cold in the winters as snowfall is common here in December and January. The area also sees heavy rainfall every year in the monsoon season.

Places to Visit in Azad Kashmir

There is a lot to see and do in AJK, but in our tourist’s guide to Kashmir, we’ll try to cover all the important regions that you must visit and all the things to do in Kashmir. Let’s get started:

Neelum Valley

A forested valley in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Neelum Valley is named after the Neelum River. It is also one of the top tourist spots in AJK and is also one of the best weekend getaways fro m Islamabad . No trip to the region is complete without taking in the scenic beauty that this place has to offer. Along with natural beauty, the valley is home to several small towns and offers plenty of hiking, trekking, and mountain climbing opportunities. Places to visit here include the villages of Kel and Taobat as well as the tourist spots of Arang Kel, Kutton and Keran.

Acting as the base camp for several different excursions that take place within Neelum Valley, Kel is a tourist town that also leads further on to Arang Kel via a 3-hour treacherous trek. Arang Kel provides a scenic view of the Nanga Parbat nestled amid snow-covered mountains. Several other glacial lakes in the region can also be reached from the village of Kel.

Shounter Lake

Reached from Kel in Neelum Valley, Shounter Lake should be your destination if you are fond of camping. Surrounded by snow-topped mountains, the lake is a beautiful sight to behold, but it is only accessible via a jeep ride.

Chitta Katha Lake

Another lake to visit in Kashmir is the Chitta Katha Lake in Neelum Valley. Sights of goat herders and snowy mountains await you here as well as plenty of camping opportunities. You can reach the lake either by hiking or via a jeep ride from Kel.

Ratti Gali Lake

Neelum Valley is home to several glacial lakes. Among these is Ratti Gali Lake, which can be reached via a tiring but rewarding trek up the mountains. At an altitude of nearly 12,000 feet, the lake literally takes your breath away, but it’s a majestic sight to behold!

As headquarters of the Rawalakot District, the town is one of the closest from Islamabad. However, only summer trips are recommended as winter weather can be quite extreme here. Spring to summer is also when the area looks the most beautiful. Located within the Pir Panjal Range, the region of Rawalakot is also known as ‘Pearl Valley’ since the abundance of almond blossoms in the summer give it the appearance of pearls scattered on the ground when viewed from above. Some famous tourist destinations here are Banjosa Lake, Toli Pir, Tatta Pani, and Sudhan Gali.

Banjosa Lake

Banjosa Lake is an artificially built waterbody in the middle of dense pine forests. The area gets a lot of snow in the winter, but summers bring out its true beauty when the fields around the lake are green, and the water is perfect for boating.

At around 8,800 feet above sea level, Toli Pir is a hilltop location ideal for a climb in the summers. The view from the top is fantastic and is not to be missed during your trip to Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Jhelum Valley

Another major tourist destination in Kashmir is Jhelum Valley, which hosts a large number of foreign and national tourists every year. Rice fields, cherry trees, and walnut plantations are spread across the valley in the summer, enhancing its natural beauty. Leepa Valley is the most popular tourist spot here.

Leepa Valley

High mountains and pine trees greet you in Leepa Valley, and the area is mostly home to farmers that have fields atop the mountains. The placement of the fields makes it appear like a stairway built into the mountains, reaching for the skies. Mangla Dam Lake

Pir Chinasi

Want to view Muzaffarabad from the top? The hill station of Pir Chinasi is at the height of 9,500 feet above sea level and offers breath-taking views of the city below and its green surroundings. Things to Do in AJK

Azad Kashmir’s varying topography makes it suitable for a variety of adventure sports such as trekking, climbing, hiking, camping, paragliding and more. Tips for Travelling to Azad Kashmir

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), generally referred to as Azad Kashmir, is an area administered by Pakistan as a nominally self-governing entity constituting the western portion of the larger Kashmir region. Asifa Bhutto Park

Asifa Bhutto Park is the best place to visit when you are visiting Mirpur city. Entrance to the park is free, but you must pay for food, attractions, and play areas. Asifa Bhutto Park is open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. It is a must-see when you visit Mirpur.

It is approximately 73 km from Muzaffarabad. Athmuqam has its unique beauty, as the LoC starts here. It names after the 8th station from Muzaffarabad to Upper Valley. Many houses here are built with wooden logs and are double-storied. During their hiking expeditions, tourists trace hiking trails to adjacent mountains.

Baboon Valley at Azad Kashmir

The pristinely beautiful part of the Neelum Valley is called Baboon Valley . It’s about 13000 feet above sea level and holds various impressive scenery for those looking to explore authentic nature. Dhani Waterfall at Azad Kashmir

When you look up at the Dhani Noseri waterfall and hear its noise, you feel calm and relaxed. You can reach Dhani waterfall from Islamabad in five hours by car. Ganga Choti at Azad Kashmir

Ganga Choti is a peak close to Union Council Birpani village between Chikar, a historical city in ancient times, especially the Dogra and Budshah dynasties, and one of the most beautiful Bagh Districts of Kashmir administered by Pakistan. Its central part is in Bagh District and some in Chikar District. 

It is in Pir Panjal Range, at an elevation of 3,045 meters (9,990 ft). You can reach the mountain via two routes – one from the District of Chikar and another from Doda’s Sudan Gali road. One could easily stay overnight here due to its facilities for food and lodging available close by within the nearby marketplace, which serves as Sudan Gali bazaar.

Gulpur Waterfall

Gurdwara Rawalakot

Haji Pir Pass at Azad Kashmir

Haji Pir Pass is a mountain pass at a peak of 2.640m above sea level, located in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan – just near the border with India. This location sits on the western fringe of the Pir Panjal Range in the Inner Himalayan region, with roads impassable for most of the winter seasons. The Haji Pir Pass was where Pakistani soldiers were stationed during the 1965 India-Pakistan War; it was taken back five months later from India due to international pressure – though many claims that this area still belongs to India.

Jari Kas Park

Jhelum Valley

Khari Sharif

Khari Sharif is a region in Pakistan near Mirpur and Jhelum of Azad Kashmir. Alaqa-e-Khari (translated to Area of Khari) refers to the fertile plains of Khari that lie between two hills overlooking the River Jhelum. Eighty villages surround this region, one town being called Khari Sharif itself. 

Eight kilometers from Mirpur City, it houses shrines of Sufi saints known as Pir Shah Ghazi Qalandar Damri Wali Sarker and Mian Muhammad Bakhsh. People worldwide make pilgrimages here because it has been a hub for Islamic education since immemorial.

Kishan Ghati at Azad Kashmir

Kishan Ghati is a small community in the AJK region. Kishan Ghati is present near Kasian and east of Kharigam. The breathtaking views of Kishan Ghati inspire tourists to enjoy the joys of life.

Kohala Bridge

One of the many points where roads lead out of Azad Kashmir into Punjab, Pakistan, is through the Kohala Bridge, which runs across the Jhelum River – a tributary of the Indus. Kutton Valley

You cannot fully enjoy your vacation if you do not visit Kutton Neelum Valley! The valley is 98 km from Muzaffarabad and 2km from Keran. Natura lovers and adventurous types will enjoy these sites, which offer panoramic views and whirling streams. Having a maximum elevation of 4,800 feet, Kutton Valley Neelum is surrounded by swirling streams and hears the sound of water. Kutton Valley Neelum is not to be missed!

Leepa Valley at Azad Kashmir

Spectacular mountain landscapes with pine forests meet your eyes as you enter the Leepa Valley . Most farmers that inhabit this part of Kashmir grow agricultural produce atop these hills. The orientation of the crops implies it is a staircase into the sky. The people here are quite hospitable, and visiting the villages offers a fascinating look into the traditional culture of Kashmir.

The Mangla Dam is a multipurpose dam situated on the Jhelum River in the Mirpur District of Kashmir. It has been acknowledged as the sixteenth-largest dam in the world. Located near a small village by the same name – it serves as its namesake – this multipurpose dam has had many milestones during its lifetime. 

The Mangla Dam is the second-largest dam in Pakistan, over the Jhelum River, and is the 16th-largest dam in the world. It led to the creation of Mangla Lake for tourists and residents alike, where you can enjoy boating activities. Nearby, there is a park for family picnics.

Mazar Baba Shadi Shaheed

Mazar Baba Shadi is a Shrine built for an older man who converted to Islam from Hinduism. Located in Bhimber, the road has an elevation of 827.93 meters. It is an excellent place to visit!

Mirpur Cricket Stadium (Quaid E Azam Stadium)

The Quaid-e-Azam Cricket Stadium is enormous and located in sector F/2 Mirpur. This humble sports ground sits patiently among tall trees, waiting for people to come and watch it bloom. The stadium has a seating capacity of 16,000, the largest stadium in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. Locals only used the field, but international games have also been held here during the past decade because of their size and capabilities.

Mirpur Old City Ruins

Mirpur Old City Ruins are an essential part of Mirpur that every visitor would enjoy seeing while in town. This location has been around since ancient times, showcasing Mirpur’s beauty from every angle you see. It’s always possible to find out about these hidden gems! Visiting this place is free, which is why people often come here. However, other fees apply, such as a fee for food or amusements on top of the entrance fee itself – so make sure to bring money if you plan on staying all day! Mirpur Old City Ruins can be visited from 10:00 PM to 06:00 PM.

Muzaffarabad

A city located at the Jhelum and Neelum rivers’ confluence, Muzaffarabad, is 138 kilometers (86 miles) from Rawalpindi and Islamabad, accessible by Kohala bridge and Hazara motorway. Muzaffarabad’s thriving cottage industry revolves around wood carving, garment making, and embroidery work. Kulcha and Bakar Khani are the traditional foods of Muzaffarabad, and they are enjoyed both nationally and internationally. 

Muzaffarabad is the administrative and political center of Azad Kashmir’s territory and the state’s capital. Muzaffarabad is located near the east of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and is the center of Neelum District. This city, my hometown, brims with excitement, peace, and glory, three things that make locals and visitors want to explore the city. The locale has sites, including the scenic Sathra, Lohar Gali, and the meeting point of the Neelum and Jhelum Rivers.

It is named after Sultan Muzaffar Khan, the leader of a tribe of people from Kashmir. He ruled the Mughal Empire and established the Red Fort to protect them from harm. Muzaffarabad Fort is a monument in the capital that’s best visited for a complete account of the city’s story in all its grandeur. To experience this for yourself, Muzaffarabad Fort must be one of the first places to visit on a visit to this fine cultural hotspot! It’s essential to recognize the country’s capital city.

Neelum River

The Neelum River, known as the Kishanganga, is an Indian and Pakistani waterway. The river starts in Indian Jammu and Kashmir before flowing through Pakistan’s Azad Kashmir. That makes it 245 kilometers long. This waterway travels 50 kilometers in India until Tulail Valley, where its length bumps up to 195 more kilometers; in Pakistan, it meets with the Jhelum River at Muzaffarabad. 

From origins at the base of Lake Satian, which is present within the state of Indian Jammu and Kashmir, this waterway winds through both parts of Kashmir, including places such as Gurez Valley and other various points in between, before meeting its end at Muzaffarabad.

Neelum Valley

Neelum Valley is a near-forest valley in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The valley is also known as one of the best weekend getaways from Islamabad and is named after the Neelum River that runs through it. It is impossible to visit the region without taking in the scenery this place offers. In addition to natural attractions, the valley is home to numerous small towns and provides plenty of hiking, trekking, and mountain climbing opportunities. Here you can visit the villages of Kel and Taobat and the tourist spots of Arang Kel, Kutton, and Keran. 

Located in Neelum Valley, Kel is the base camp for several excursions within the valley, including the 3-hour treacherous trek to Arang Kel, where you can admire the Nanga Parbat nestled in snowy mountains. You can go to the village Kel from several other regional glacial lakes.

Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project

The Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Plant was part of a run-of-the-river hydroelectric power scheme in AJK, Pakistan. It is designed to expel water from the Neelum River to a power station of the Jhelum River, which is 42 km (26 mi) south of Muzaffarabad. The powerhouse design ensures it can still provide electricity during floods or droughts. It has an installed capacity of 969 MW.

Nergola Waterfall at Azad Kashmir

Located 120 kilometers from Rawalpindi, Nergola Waterfall offers a refreshing escape during the heat of summer. With the bumpy ride being worth it to gain this experience, people are often inclined to stop by while exploring the area. The waterfalls stand just outside Rawalakot City and are accessible through a short fifteen-minute hike or walk up/downhill from the nearest point on the main road where visitors have parked their vehicles. A small stall can offer snacks and beverages throughout daytime hours before closing down after sunset – perfect if someone wishes to take some photos without interruption! Close by is another guest house available for people who want more than just a quick stay .

Old Hindu Temple Mandar

An ancient Hindu temple, the Mandir is an important place of worship for many Hindu community members living in this area and tourists who come here to appreciate all that Pakistan has to offer. The Mandir is open daily, although no entrance fee is needed or requested. It is located near Mirpur. 

Panjal Mastan National Park

Panjal Mastan is a beautiful place located in the valley of Kashmir. The Panjal Mastan National Park lies within the Bagh District of Kashmir and can be found at an average elevation of 2800 meters (9186 feet), making this region among the highest plateaus in all of Kashmir. This national park covers an area measuring around 3,00 square kilometers.

The land here is well-known for its rich flora and fauna from the Pir Panjal ecoregion; during springtime, this ecosystem bursts with colorful blooms! Panjal Mastan possesses a subtropical highland climate (Cwb). This type of area experiences cold winters and cool summers with markedly higher rainfall than lower altitudes with frequent fog all year long.

Pathika at Azad Kashmir

Pathika is a beautiful place in Kashmir and is known for its business district of Neelum Valley, where travelers can find everything to use for daily routines. Neelum Valley hotels can accommodate a large number of tourists. There are many tourist attractions in Pathika, including the mountains, the beautiful weather, and the rich green knolls. The road to Patheka will impress you with its tall trees and the city view. Here, you’ll enjoy the rich green environment and pleasant weather.

Patlian Lake

Patlian Lake is a mile-high beauty in Neelum Valley, Azad Kashmir. A turn-off from Lawat leads through forests before reaching Ratti Gali; then Patlian lies about another few kilometers after the third turn. This route passes through acres of pines and other kinds of trees on both sides, leading up to the mountain slopes, which form a series of crests rising towards us across tree-carpeted slopes that emerge into valleys. At the same time, patches remain covered with snow even during summer as they stretch higher. The extent to which ice lingers all year long can be judged best when in July or August, we find it still blanketing some slops near the topmost ridge where sunlight reaches hardly or not at all!

Pir Chinasi at Azad Kashmir

Pir Chinasi (also called Peer Chinasi) is a famous Muslim religious site located nearly 30 miles from Muzaffarabad, the capital city of Azad Kashmir, administered by Pakistan. It exists at the top of Mount Pir Chinasi. The mountain peak has seen tremendous popularity for its pilgrimage to a famous Saint – Sayed Hussain Shah Bukhari. The hill station of Pir Chinasi resides high up at an altitude of 9,500 feet above sea level and provides fantastic sights of the town below with all its lush greenery. Visitors may enjoy camping trips to Pir Chinasi to explore nature’s beauty. Tourists also come here to view the hidden city of Muzaffarabad and the rural villages surrounding it. Furthermore, residents are known for paragliding off this mountain and doing snow-cross Jeep rallies.

Pir Lasura National Park

Pir Lasura National Park, located in Pakistan, has been recognized as a national park since 2005. A rapid evaluation during the summer of 2010 revealed that 159 different plant species within 83 other plant families exist across diverse habitats- trees, bushes, herbs, grasses, and epiphytes. There were also 16 warm-blooded creatures, 119 flying creatures, 24 reptiles, six land animals, including amphibians and fish, and 15 butterfly species. The research concludes that Pir Lasura National Park deserves immediate conservation efforts because it contains high levels of biodiversity that need prompt conservation measures, such as soil biota and animal/plant parasites. At the same time, additional detailed studies could explore lesser-known animals and plants from this area. It is a place worth visiting in the area. It is situated around 200 kilometers from Muzaffarabad vis Kohala.

Quaid-e-Azam Tourist Lodge at Azad Kashmir

Quaid-e-Azam Tourist Lodge, Barsala, is a historic tourist lodge in Kohala. Muzaffarabad District, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. The tourist point was also known as Quaid-e-Azam Memorial Rest House for being the place where Muhammad Ali Jinnah stayed during his visit here back in 1944. The lodge is still famous because of its proximity to essential attractions such as Alpuri Fort and Bakkara – with just 13 km (8 mi) separating them from each other.

Ramkot Fort

Azad Kashmir has a story of old archaeological sites and other ancient attractions that intrigue any history lover. So explore the unique appeal of the fort at Ramkot! 

Ramkot Fort exists near the Mangla Dam in Pakistan. It constructs during the reign of the Delhi Sultanate in 1342. Ramkot Fort is bounded on all sides by the Jhelum River, about 13 kilometers away by boat and about 79 kilometers by road from Mirpur. 

That is Ramkot Fort, representing the construction of modern Muslim military structures built back in the 5th and 9th centuries. The Muslim leaders discovered and demolished the fort during the 17th century, leaving only the area where it stood as an explore-worthy destination for those in the mood to see history up close. One will appreciate the architecture by visiting the Ramkot Fort’s archaeological site.

Ratti Gali Lake at Azad Kashmir

Ratti Gali Lake is a glacial alpine lake in Neelum Valley, Pakistan. Mountain glacier waters feed the lake at an altitude of 3,683 meters (12,083 ft). Located at a jaw-dropping height above sea level and surrounded by stunning wilderness – probably one of the most attractive mountainous regions in the world – its mild water mass forms due to glaciers activity. 

The crystal clear water and breathtaking landscapes stand out among other natural wonders in Azad Kashmir – locals call it The Jewel of Neelum Valley. Not only is Ratti Gali Lake home to some fantastic wildlife, but it also ranks among many heavenly spots in Azad Kashmir.

Pakistan’s Rawalakot is known for its distinctive architecture and has been called one of the country’s most beautiful cities. Only summer trips are recommended here due to the harsh winters of Rawalakot , the district headquarters. The area looks its best from spring to summer. As a result of the abundant almond blossoms in summer, Rawalakot is also known as ‘Pearl Valley’ because it looks like pearls scattered on the ground. This area’s most popular tourist destinations are Banjosa Lake, Toli Pir, Tatta Pani, and Sudhan Gali.

Red Fort Muzaffarabad at Azad Kashmir

The Red Fort is a 17th-century fortification and palace in Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. Built during the rule of the Chak dynasty, it overlooks the town from a high hilltop. The fort is locally known as the Rutta Qila or just Qila (defense).

While much of the original building has collapsed over time, efforts are underway to restore this historically significant place. A specialist company carries its restoration, which works on restoring old buildings. If you spend enough time wandering inside, it quickly becomes apparent that this was once a magnificent palace!

Sain Saheli Sarkar Darbar

The Shrine of Hazrat Sakhi Saheli Sarkar is located at the District Headquarters office complex (Old Civil Secretariat) in the Capital city of Muzaffarabad. This Shrine has been a center of spiritual activity and enlightenment for years. This Shrine attracts crowds from all over Pakistan, coming to pray and ask for guidance in times of need. It was built centuries ago, though there are discrepancies. Regardless, it remains one of the most beautiful shrines you’ll ever see, with its vibrant colors infused into its construction so gracefully; indeed, a sight to behold!

Samwal Sharif

Samwal Sharif is a religious place in Azad Kashmir, south of Sar and east of Dhok Jaral. The miracle place in Samwal Sharif is open for visitors to explore Mirpur’s beauty. An entrance fee does not require for visitors who come here- all one needs to do is spend money on food or anything else worth exploring once they get inside. The visit lasts from noon to 11 PM.

Sharda at Azad Kashmir

When you plan to visit Neelum Valley, Sharda is a must-see site in Azad Kashmir. There are several huts on flat land and beautiful scenery around Sharda. Sharda is located 136 kilometers from Muzaffarabad. Instead, the small city at the base of Neelum Valley leaves behind the beauty and history of the small Tehsil. In the lush green meadows of Neelum Valley, the small town exists at an altitude of 1981 meters. Sharda has many guesthouses and hotels for tourists to relax and enjoy trekking and sightseeing. Take a trip to Sharda, one of the most beautiful small cities in the region!

Sharda Peeth

The Sharda shrine is a temple in the so-called India-occupied Kashmir, located in Sharda Village, the Neelum Valley. Sharda is a green and watery place. A heavy coat of snow makes the village of Sharda white and appealing to the eye. Name after the temple of the goddess Sharada, where a shrine is devoted to her. This tourist spot is ideal because it provides an escape from daily stress and a respite from the balmy weather.

Sharda Wooden Bridge at Azad Kashmir

It’s the perfect destination for researchers and archaeology enthusiasts interested in history, with many guest houses scattered in Sharda Neelum Valley. Tourists will find a beautiful bridge in Sharda known as the Sharda Bridge, with many stores in Sharda Bazar. Many hotels and resorts occupy Sharda Neelum Valley, such as Shangrila Sharda Resort, Kashmir Lodges, Pak River Guest House, and Waadi Resort Sharda Neelum Valley. It is the best tourist place to refresh and bask in the delightful, temperate climate.

Shounter Lake

Reached from Kel in the Neelum Valley, Shounter lake should be your destination if you are into camping. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains, the lake is a beautiful sight, but the journey is via jeep only. You’ll enjoy visiting Shounter Lake from May through August, when the weather conditions are perfect for exploring. Located in the picturesque Shouter Valley at 3,100 meters (10,200 feet) above sea level, it provides the ideal spot for trekking enthusiasts and sightseers.

As the lake is surrounded by glacial waters, green grass vegetation, mountains, and specimens of various plants, it takes on a dazzling white color when it is frozen in the winter and covered in thick snow during the winter season. With its high altitude, Shounter Lake can be extremely dangerous due to landslides triggered by heavy snowfall and blizzards. However, if you’re daring enough to test your luck, it’s worth checking out – especially since few places in Pakistan offer such a thrilling landscape – there are only two other lakes located at such heights! And while they may not measure up precisely to what you would find here at Shounter Lake, the photography opportunities do make it worth a visit, nevertheless!

Shounter Valley at Azad Kashmir

Shounter Pass is a sky-scraping mountain pass at 14,501 feet above sea level in Neelum Valley in Azad Kashmir. This stretch of land links Kashmir Kel with GB Astore, and you can reach from double way–Astor to Kel or from Kashmir to Astor. The valley is beautiful; its terrain slightly changes from dense pine forests to vast open valleys with lush green meadows. 

Shounter Valley is in the Upper Neelum Valley of Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. This valley is accessible through a Jeep track that may be open for only a few months. More importantly, this area makes it easy for campers to find solace away from home and offer some respite during these busy times when they’re needed most!

Samahni Valley

The Samahni Valley is located on the LoC (line of control), which separates Azad Kashmir from Jammu and Kashmir. It is 35 kilometers long and about 8 kilometers wide, covering an area of 1270 square kilometers. Most inhabitants speak Pahari with some Punjabi influence; however, Urdu is still spoken and understood among many villagers there. The Samahni Valley consists of fourteen towns spread out across its vast expanse.

Taobat at Azad Kashmir

Ta obat is a town in the Sharda Tehsil region of Neelum Valley, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. It is located 120 miles from Muzaffarabad and 24 miles from Kel. It is the last stop before entering Pakistani territory on the way to Kargil – the Indian border. In 1998, seven hundred twenty people were living there; this number has grown due to tourism projects in the area bringing new jobs for locals and outside investments fueling growth all over Neelum Valley in recent years.

Throchi Fort

Throchi Fort is located in Choroi Area, Kotli District. It borders Gulpur Town, which falls on the junction of Mirpur and Rawalpindi Roads. Nearest to Throchi is the small village of Throchi within the Nao-Shera Area (region), ten miles from Kotli City – currently under the jurisdiction of Pakistan’s military rule. 

Toli Pir at Azad Kashmir

Toli Pir is a hilltop area in Tehsil Rawalakot in the Poonch District of Azad Jammu Kashmir. Its maximum height is about 8800 ft above sea level and is about 30 km, or a two-hour drive, from Rawalakot in Azad Kashmir. 

You can take an insight into Abbaspur, Bagh, and Poonch Rivers from Toli Pir . Toli Pir is a great mountainous location in the northeastern area of Rawalakot. It is the point of origin for three mountain ridges, with the remains of an old masjid atop its tallest peak. 

Accessible mostly during summer months due to cold temperatures between October through March. In the summer, Toli Pir is an ideal hilltop location for climbing. You cannot miss the spectacular view from the top during your trip to Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Upper Neelum

It’s impossible to fully enjoy your vacation without visiting Upper Neelum Valley! Upper Neelum is 82km from Muzaffarabad and about 2km from Keran. These sites, for nature lovers and adventurers, provide panoramic views of local scenery and are equipped with whirling streams. 

Upper Neelum has a maximum elevation of 1824 meters; as a result, you hear the sound of water down the village and can witness swirling streams. This creates a relaxing atmosphere. There are tourist homes in Azad Kashmir built by the Tourism Department to house visitors who wish to visit other areas of Kashmir. Make sure to attend the Upper Neelum!

Viewpoint Park

Mirpur City will become your favorite place to visit thanks to its breathtaking scenery – which you will see from Viewpoint Park Mirpur! Entry is accessible at all times, but food or other attractions are not, so don’t forget your wallet if you want something!

Viewpoint Park Mirpur opens at noon every day and closes at 11:00 PM, although it changes seasonally, so double-check before going.

Zalzal Lake at Azad Kashmir

Zalzal Lake (also known as the Earthquake Lake) is almost 3.5 kilometers long and 350 feet deep and was created after the earthquake of October 2005, when a mountainside slid into the valley. The quake cut an enormous mountain in the region and blocked off the flow of two nearby streams to create this body of water—the Zalzal lake. This natural lake can be found near Chakaar Hill Resort, a famous retreat spot up north. The water flowing through this body merges with one branch of River Jhelum near Hattian Bala before continuing downstream.

I took honeymoon trip with tourplanner. 3Days/2Nights to Naran from Islamabad. I first told them to pickup on Monday, later told them to pickup on Tuesday and even on Tuesday after pickup at 11, went for breakfast and then departed at 12. Not once did I feel that I wasn't going on my own car with my own timing. The hotel room at Naran was very cozy and had a great view. Moreover, it was far enough from noises and yet at 3 minutes walking distance from the market. During visit we stopped for photos numerous times and Driver Tasweer knew well enough about every scenic spot. Apart from being a great guide, a driver who seemed to remember every blind turn, Driver Tasweer was a very patient and cooperative man. Summary: 5/5.

I usually visit northern areas on my own, but this time I planned to visit with my family so I decided to book a travel company. I contacted tour planner on WhatsApp and paid them the advance amount. I talked to them over the phone only twice and both times they were very much helpful. I appreciate their commitment with their customers. However, I was not satisfied with the driver, though he was not rude, clearly, he showed least interest in his job. Secondly, he was not a guide at all. He has no idea about areas and he didnt explained any place as a guide should do. All the time I had to tell him to slow down on dangerous roads of mountains but he was continuously overtaking on blind corners. I told him that on a straight road where you can seen that no one is coming from the front, you can overtake but on a blind cut and edge, you have no idea if a bus or car is coming. He never listened to me and hit the car to a front vehicle and eventually damaged the front bumper. Luckily we all were saved from any harm. I was with my kids in the car but it was not important for him. There is a typical driver mentality which is very difficult to change, its just your luck, sometimes you get good ones sometimes bad ones. During our 3 days stay in Naran, we spent a day without water, a bucket full of cold water was given to us to use in the Toilet. The second day we got water in the line, and we got hot water finally. Also, there was no heating system in the rooms. TV signals were also very bad so there was no point in watching TV. Hence spending free time in the room was a challenge. Interestingly for the last few months, there is no electricity in Naran, and this fact was told to us when we reached there, the generators worked 7 pm to 2 am only. So this is how Naraz is these days. Initially, the room which was booked for us was very small and smelly without any TV, so we requested for a change and we got this one, we had no idea at that time that this hotel room would be worst in facilities, though the staff of the hotel was very nice and polite. I do recommend this company for tours in case you are traveling with family to minimize your own efforts in arranging rooms and Jeeps, in case of teenagers and solo travelers its better to do things and manage everything at you own in a comparatively cheaper price.

Well, I found Mr Kh Khalid very professional in the dealing. When I was negotiating my tour package, I was very sceptical about the service; but I found the driver & guide - Mr Taswer to be very decent, well versed with all the arrangement requirements for family tour. We had no down time, everything was very well pre-arranged from car, hotel reservation, trip to Malam Jabba, shopping, etc. I would rate their service to be 10 out 10 and recommend others to avail their service.

Excellent service. They conduct tour with utmost professionalism. I have done my private tour to Kashmir and Bhurban with Tourplanner.pk in January which is a difficult month considering the weather. But I didn't face any down time during my trip. The car was spacious and clean and of newer model. We stayed at very decent hotels. We had to abort our planned visit to Keil and Kuttan due to heavy snow but they handled it so well. Our hotel reservation rescheduling was very smooth and instead we visited Shogran which was a treat to visit. Highly recommended ??

The perfect solution for fuss free honey moon. Our tour was from the 9th of August till the 13th of August 2018. Chose a package for Kashmir Tour through their website and booked everything on the phone. Had a little trouble getting the package customized but in the end everything turned out great. We booked a GLI for the tour and Mr. Tasveer was our Tour Guide/Driver. Came from Karachi to Islamabad and were picked from Islamabad and dropped back there. Although being far away for urban settlements, this tour turned out to be as comfortable as it could get. Mr. Tasveer did more than just guide us, he was there to help us with any problem on the way to make sure we felt comfortable and secure. That was one of the big reasons why we enjoyed the tour without worrying about a thing. Day One: The first day was a tiring day as we had to travel from Islamabad all the way to Kutton. And that took us all day. We were already told not to expect much from the hotel at Kutton. There's not much to say about it. Though the fruit trees within the premises were a nice touch and the management was friendly. We got there minutes before dark, freshened up, picked us some fruits off the trees, shot some photos of the river (the hotel is by the side of the river), had dinner and went back to sleep to wake up early the next day. Day Two: After the complimentary breakfast we left off for Keran/ Sharda tour. It was a long drive there again. The places were nice but most of our time was spent in travel. We stayed at a hotel in Sharda as it was better for our Ratti Garli tour next day. The hotel services were similar to that of the Kuttons, the view was way better though. Greenery all around, Corn and Sunflower fields across the road at one side and river by the other. The valley was quite wide there, so the river felt a little tame and there was a lot of river side area to walk. Day Three: Got up early, stuff ourselves with the complimentary breakfast and headed out for the Ratti Gali jeeps. The off roading on those totally worn out jeeps and their busted shocks is a nightmare. The views and over all off roading experience totally makes up for it though. The jeep dropped us off at a base camp and we took a nerve wracking horse ride to the Ratti Gali lake. When going for a tour through this part of Kasmhir not visiting Ratti Gali, Kel/Arang Kel or Taobut does not make any sense. That's why the package on it's own didn't make any sense to me as none of these places were included. The Ratti Gali tour was the star of our trip. Mind blowing views. Lush green tops, turquoise lake, glacier oozing mountains, eerie slow moving clouds and the silent cold surroundings. This was a package that had it all and was the reason we chose this instead of Arang Kel or Taobut. We came trekking back to the base camp had lunch and were on our way back to the unforgiving jeep ride. Came back to same Kutton hotel we stayed the first night after the jeep ride. Day Four: This was our last day in this semi wilderness. As this morning we were headed back to Muzaffarabad and a for a trip to the Pir Chinasi top. The hotel at Muzaffarabad was better than the ones out there. But the staff still was undertrained. Which accounted for a slight unpleasant experience there. After lunch we went for the Pir Chinasi top in the evening. The Pir Chinasi was the second best thing about this tour. A cloud covered top with mesmerizing views all around. You'd be literally moving through the clouds. And there'd be clouds risings up from valley down under. So you'd be sandwiched between this multi could layered awesomeness. The commercialization of the area and the trash was a bit off a turn off though. Day Five: Headed back to Islamabad through Murree which was a treat to the eyes itself. Overall with a little unavoidable and minor setbacks. This was all I could ask from this tour. And the Tourplanner Team along with Mr. Tasveer's expertise made the whole tour totally worth every penny and left me and my wife with some truly memorable moments. Things we experienced for the very first time in our life, together. All thanks to you guys.

Disappointed as this was my first time with Tourplanner. The job of Tourplanner is that of a post office. You pay the money and get the driver and that is all. Nobody contacted me from Tourplanner while we are on journeys to know the situation and feed back. When we arrived at the hotel in ISL, the rooms were not ready and we had to wait for one and half hour. Very poor housekeeping was experienced. I do not know how come all the reviewers giving Tourplanner 5stars. Who knows who they are. I paid the entire sum in advance and I had to pay extra couple of thousands rupees on my return from ISL hotel. I gave every details to Tourplanner about my scheduled flight times but still I had to pay extra. Hotel at Shogran bedsheets and blankets were very dirty. I can only say driver was good. Bad experience. Guys everyone can plan on its own. You have the flexibility If You plan your your yourselves. Sorry for above comments but I had no choice

I have taken their services with lots of doubt in mind that how they will serve me and my family but I am amazed to see that the staf and the services they have given are out standing and extremely economical . All the staf are best at their job and extremely cooperative . One thing that needs to be improve is the economicity of prizes of the menu in dinner and lunch. Thanks

Thanks guys for arranging the trip. All things were amazing specially the guide was very flexible. Accommodations were decent as well. The only thing which you could improve is to ask Pine Park hotel (shogran) to at least remove the worn-out blankets and increase the hot water timings (only four hours are too less for kids and infants).

I was planning to do one day trip to Islamabad with family and I was searching for different planners and contact Tourplanner. I had a good experience with them. First and foremost, they are very active in responding to queries. I asked queries..bargain rates and booked their services while working . no need to go anywhere. due to my tight schedule and they respond every time as cool as calm. Second, their services are up to the mark with good vehicle and good driver. Third, What they committed they followed. Places and timings were good Fourth, They deserve 5 stars but due to some minor areas of improvement, they lack 1 star. They must give a tentative plan for the trip if the visitors are new.

I had plan my trip with my wife to murre in the starting week of this December, I found this tourplanner really excellent. All the arrangements from hotel accommodation to the last day drop to Islamabad was perfectly organized. Had to get arrangements for a northern areas trip with the Mrs on a really short notice in late Oct 2017 and discovered tourplannerpk via a google search while searching for hotels. Had just 2 days to finalize so didn’t have any time to ask for recommendations from friends and family, after reading the testimonials decided to give tourplannerpk a try and it was a really good decision. Called them and they sent me a customized tour plan along with charges. Got the air tickets for KH-ISB and finalized the day before the visit along with the advance payment. Took the deluxe package, the driver/tour guide picked us up at the airport and was very nice, informative and polite. The accommodations were superb and we were looked after well. Couldn’t have expected better, everything was beyond expectation. We were a bit nervous about using a service no one among my circle had used before but it turned out to be a very pleasant experience. And since it was all so hassle free and now on will be very open to make revisits in the future.

We planned naran tour last week. Tourplanner was excellent option . They delivered what they committed and were always responsive to any query. This was my first trip to the northern areas with my family. I was real nervous about wiring money to a “random” tour company just based on online reviews. The easy availability and professionalism extended by Mr. Khalid put my doubts to rest, and I did end up scheduling my trip through tour planner. From the airport pick-up to drop-off, it was all very well organized. Upon arriving at each hotel I would get a call to ensure that everything was going smoothly. When two of the hotels indicated that that the free breakfast was only for four (out of the five) family members, tour planner promptly addressed this with the front desk and the issue was resolved. I would highly recommend tour planner and will use their services again for any future Pakistan travels.

I booked our tour in August with Tourplanner (two women on an adventurous trip to Naran, Gilgit and Hunza!) It was a fabulous trip - well organised and managed by Tour planner. I had many queries and a series of long phone calls followed to make sure everything was in place. The prompt, courteous service was very welcome! and although we found the prices a bit steep - it was well worth it in the end! Alhamdolillah, we could not have asked for a better team of operators - Both Mr Khalid and Khayyam were thoroughly professional and always a phone call/email away to address any issues. Gulfraz (our driver and guide) was simply wonderful. A thorough gentleman whom we were very comfortable with during the long days of travel. An 8 day tour spent mostly on the road can get very tiring. So its essential that the accomodations are up to the mark - safe and clean! and the driver is good and knows the routes well. We were more than satisfied with the choice of hotels (I did review them online and upgraded to the best). Nice clean sheets with hot water at the end of the day were the greatest blessings! Don't miss the Punjab tikka house Chicken tikkas and Halwa puri breakfast at dawn (Opp. Millenium Inn hotel in Naran :-) I would highly recommend Tour planner, specially to those living abroad and not having enough time to arrange things locally.

It was my first trip to northern areas with family and overall the service provided by Mr. Khalid Mushtaq is excellent. Although, I had some bad experience with the vehicle maintenance and had to suffer in mansehra for broken engine belt repairs for more than two hours which would have been dangerous if it was to be earlier on mountains but driver and our guide Waqar was very humble and a very balanced driver. My sincere suggestion to Khalid Mushtaq Saheb is to please introduce some way of vehicle check/safety measures that is being provided to the family to have an enjoyable and tension free journey all along. I had very tense moments just due to the vehicle that has gear issues from the get go till the last day and had to go to the repairs after almost 1500 km journey on mountains. It could have been excellent overall if this measure is to be taken seriously.

Travelling and exploring Naran/Shogran with tour planners had been a good experience for me and my family.The best thing was driver (Mr Tasweer) who was very cooperative always smiling and well aware of all the view points. Stay at millenium inn was an average experience. Arcadian hotel stay at Shogran was wonderful. I would recommend tourplanners for a family visit.

We booked our 13 day Pakistan tour through Tourplanner. My friend told me about the company and our experience with Tourplanner was really good. We went to Islamabad, Murree and Muzaffarabad in winters, and our main requirement was uninterrupted geysers and heaters in all hotels. Tourplanner arranged hotels for us that met this requirement despite gas and electric load shedding. The driver picked us up from train station in Islamabad and was the guide for us in all these places. Hi all I reallly thank tour planner to make it happen. I had 9 days and wanted my trip to b planned. I called these people in the morning to plan it and by the evening i left khi.... picking m up from the daewoo lhr till dropping m bak to the station its was fantabulous..... these people did a great job. And since it was a sudden plan they were very mch open for the changes in betweeen.... without any arguement..... the amazing hotels, complete tour,24/7 car with m...... it was THE trip i was looking fwd fr after ages and these people made it happen. The only problem that i faced was lhr hotel which was a bit of a pain h/e that can b ignored against all the wonderful days... I was bit scared since we were all women and jz a boy kid... but it was planned so nicely that i never felt that i was alone on my own Good work tour planner..... keep it up.....

we just had a two days tour of Naran Kaghan on a very short notice to Mr. Khalid Mushtaq. the arrangements are pretty good and comfortable too. Driver Mr. Babar was gentle person. The stops he took was really good. over all its good.

Our trip to Kashmir with Tour Planners was the first we had done through a proper company. I must say that right from the time the driver (throughout courteous, friendly, knowledgeable of area) picked us up in the car they had promised (comfortable, sturdy for the roads, clean and hygienic), it all went like clockwork. What I liked about Tour Planner was the flexibility that they allowed. We had asked for openness and comfort even if it meant staying in one quiet place. When we got what we had said and felt it wasn't as open as we thought it would be (it was our choice and approved beforehand) our request for fast forwarding the next location was arranged within minutes. On another occasion we liked the hotel arrangement so much and the location of it that we wanted to stay an extra day; that too was arranged despite a commitment elsewhere. The point of contact in Tour Planner was never a phone call away. And when the mobile phone signals were inaccessible there was always the landline to which they answered all the time. If messages were left for the person, we always received a call back well in time. The hotels were wonderful; the owners seemed conscious that we were to be given the courtesy and respect of tired travelers which indicates the good relationship Tour Planner had with the hotel management. Once we were asked to pay the breakfast bill when in fact the deal included room and breakfast. When we informed them that we were from Tour Planner, they gave us the benefit of doubt even though the receptionist had not written down the breakfast was part of the deal. They said they'll sort it out with Tour Planner but they had been told not to bother guests if they had come from Tour Planner. I would say that perhaps Tour Planner should have a more detailed briefing from. It would help both them and the tourists. You see, explaining a requirement over phone can be difficult and not every tourist can fully explain what they want. Overall a very pleasant experience and next time we go vacationing, I would like to go with Tour Planner. We had taken two quotations and they are indeed value for money. When you go on vacation you don't mind paying a little more if you have peace of mind. here I don't think we paid more and yet had tremendous peace of mind.

Hi all, me and my wife set up a 5 day trip with Tourplanner recently & quite surprising it went very well, Alhamdulillah. At 1st i was confused about transferring online payment to a unknown tour company. But after reading the reviews from the fb, i went in with the risk & the feedback from Mr. Khayam (who managed the whole trip) was superb. Our driver Mr,Adnan was very professional and intelligent driver. His driving skills very very much appreciatable. Some minor issues with the Hotel deManchi in Naran were the lack of hot water. Other services were excellent & i recommend others as well. Thanks a lot for a lifetime experience !!

Me and my Wife booked 3 days tour to naran through Tourplanner and it was a lifetime experience. We stayed in Demanche Hotel Naran where we had a comfortable stay. There were minor issues but overall stay went good. We had tour to Lake saif ul Maluk, Lake lulusar and Babusar pass, We also witnessed surprise snowfall at Babuser Top. Provided convince (Gli Car) and driver (Mr Tasveer) really made tour very comfortable, entertaining and enjoyable. However, driving of driver was much fast ... Overall we recommend Tourplanner to others to have a great trip in affordable cost.

So here it goes...we booked a 7 days 6 nights tour starting from Islamabad till Hunza and back to Islamabad. Details r as below: Started from Islamabad till Naraan (night stay) From Naran to Hunza via Gilgit (3 nights) HUnza to Gilgit (night stay) Gilgit to Shogran (night stay) Finally back to Islamabad. I must say it was a very well organized and planned trip. Initially Naran and Shogran night stays were not included but thanks to Tour Planner guys for making this modification (from initial plan that was for Chillas night stays). Both the guys (Khalid and Farhad) were continous in touch with us to make sure trip is going good as planned. Very cooperative and nice guys and the most important thing, they are not GREEDY at all unlike many other touring companies in Pakistan. Well done guys and would love to plan another trip via Tour Planner in future. And also to mention about our driver Adnan who was a young and enthusiastic driver and very carefully drove the car in all areas.

Took a package of Neelum Valley for 4N/5D in July 2016. Overall a good experience. Things which were committed by Mr. Khalid Mushtaq prior to the visit were all provided during the visit. Driver Mr. Husnain kept good care of us throughout the tour. Hotel at Keran (Green Village) was very good however hotel at Sharda (Kashmir Lodge) was below average. Overall it was a gud experience. However a suggestion to Mr. Khalid is that he should physically visit the area himself and look for other hotel options in the Neelum Valley. There are a number of other better rental options available in the valley.

I had booked a 7 days 6 nights trip for nathiagali murree. The vehicle and driver shafqat are so nice.shafaqt is very punctual and very calm natured driver. In murree the hotel standard is not so good enough. Howerer over all trip is so memorable.

In short.... A very well executed holidays with perfection....! Credit goes to Mr. Khalid, farhad and our companion driving expert Pervaiz. A promise to my mom and my family got a perfect reply from their smiles and thanks to all the team members of tour planner to get it accomplished....! We booked a 3 day 2 night trip to naran. Everything was good from contacting the staff to payments, from travelling to sight seeing. Our driver shujaat was really good as well. Had some problem with the hotel stay but that was resolved. Overall a great experience with u ppl. Wil definitely travel again but here are a few suggestions 1. Food voucher shoulde be included because breakfast payment was an issue at the hotel. Had to pay for it separately. 2. Its good that the tour is flexible but a proper itinerary should be given. 3. Kindly change the pine hills hotel from ur list. Its not recommended at all.

I booked 5 days 4 night Shogran > Siripaye > Naran > Saiful Malook > Lulusar > Babusar Top in mid of july the experience was good little hassle in start then everything sort out perfectly driver Naeem was good.

We booked a 4-Day, 3-Night trip for Naran-Babusur-Saiful Maluk with Tour Planner on Eid holidays. The experience was amazing, the driver Fida was knowledgeable about the surroundings and helped us a lot to see places we didn't know about. First 2 nights were in Parhena Cottages short of Naran, amazing views and great hospitality, highly recommended. Last night stay was in Centurian Hotel Naran City, too noisy, staff un-supportive, in-dining not allowed and washrooms leaking. Though the hotel was newly built but not recommended. Infact any place in Naran city is not recommended if you want to enjoy the serene environment. Stay outside the city, Arcadian Resort is another good choice. Service by Tour Planner is highly recommended, you will feel right at home, refreshed and raring to go every morning. Thanks for the experience, will definitely try again.

It was an excellent experience withTour Planner. In start I was bit hesitant to deal with an online company in Pakistan. I booked a 5 day 4 night trip to Naran Siful Malook, Lulosar lake, Babusar top and Shogran with Sri Paye. Mr. Faraz was our main contact who arranged and organized the trip and pleasantly modified our booking on ourreuested dates. The start was not good as our driver shoukat came late bu then he explained the reason of heavy traffic from Mansehra due to eid holidays. We started our trip from Rawalpindi due to eid holidays rushwe reached to Naran in 14 hours. But it was nothing to do with Tour planner. Driver was also very friendly and responsible. Overall I am very happy and satisfied with their services and it was full return of my investment. I will surely recommend them for any trip arrangements.

We booked car with tour planner for 6 days for a trip to kashmir and murree. We felt very comfortable throughout our trip. The car was well maintained with all the days planned. Mr.Khalid helped us a lot in planning the same. Our driver(Fida) was Ok. We changed a bit of our plan on the 4th day for which we were charged extra. My sister and I booked a 4 day trip to Islamabad, Murree and Nathiagali. Everything worked perfectly! Our driver/guide (Imran) was extremely punctual, and he was extremely helpful. Khalid was always checking on us, making sure we've reached our destination and if we needed any kind of support!. The car was comfortable, Imran was always checking if we needed stops (or pictures!) and the structure of the tour worked fine. Hotels were fine, the one in Islamabad has excellent service ( Apex guest House). Overall, an excellent experience and would recommend it for persons looking to have everything arranged.

I had book for 2 days Muree Package as I was traveling with 1 Infant and 1 child along with my wife I had requested for Pickup from Islamabad but Drop at Peshawar. Everything was very nice.. I went to Azad Kashmir on 4 nights and 5 days tour with tour planner. It was a good experience. The customer service was great. The driver was very friendly and a good guide. Tour planner representative were in touch with me during whole tour. I felt safe and did not face any issue during my visit. I planned my own visit and would have given 5 star if i have been guided more by the company. From Lahore we went directly to Keran and it was a bad decision. A lot of travelling with family. A friendly advise would be have been stay in Kashmir. But i would also appreciate tour planner as on my request they made arrangement of my stay in Kashmir on 11th hour. Secondly we opted to go for Tobat and were advised to not stay there as there are not good hotels. It was a really bad suggestion as not staying in Tobat mean we traveled 11 hours in a day where the return was in dark night on a road with no lights and river flowing beside us. It was scary experience. I believe the service i availed through tour planner was expensive. My friend is also going to Kashmir but on lower rates and longer stay. But if you are looking for reliable service and peace of mind than yes, Tourplanner is the right choice.

I planned a trip last week to Neelum Valley and was not satisfied with the Hotel Bookings as everybody is asking for high rates as its a jam packed week before the holy month of Ramadan. AMAZING TRIP !! the two words I can use to mark my trip. I am extremely delighted and satisfied with the level of continuous support and assistance which was provided to us by tour planner. All the hotels arrangements were amazing in different ways, meeting or beyond our expectations which made our trip more peaceful. Tourplanner arranged a fabulous honeymoon trip for us to Muzafarabad, Neelam Valley and Pir Chinasi. At the end, I would say they are surely one of the best. Everything was well planned and executed to perfection. The travel arrangements were fantastic, wherever we reached, the hotel was already booked and the staying arrangements made already. The locations they selected for our stay were one of the best. Food was delicious and especially the stay at Shahkot (Dreamland guest house) was superb. The driver they arranged for us was very cooperative, professional and knew his job well. Tourplanner would always be my first preference whenever I would like to have a trip arranged.

I usually prefer not to book any tour guide service as it usually restricts you to visit the places they know already and which give a shut up call to your exploring nature but I have to admit that Tour Planner and an extremely helpful nature of the guide “Kismat Khan” changed my opinion completely. It’s a usual perception that Islamabad is a capital state and has nothing to enjoy in it other than the government building. If you have the same perception, I would highly recommend you to hire Tour Planner and you will simply change your opinion about Islamabad after visiting places like “Shadhra”, “Lake View Park”, “Ayub Park” and more. This is my first time to have a trip with some arrangement done by a tour operator. Overall I am satisfied with the arrangements done by tourplanner. Driver was impressively well experienced to drive on roads for Neelum Valley. But driver was not much aware of rout or places (we have planned to visit). He has tried to manage it by keeping in contact with the head office of tourplanner. So becasue of less knowledge of driver about places I think we have missed some places to see there. Overall Good Service/accomodation, Guset House and Hotel was also good.

Me and my family spend a wonderful time in all destinations during tour. We preferred to stay in hotels then Guest houses. Mr. Khawaja Khalid (Tour planner) is a nice and very cooperative gentleman who continuously remained in touch and managed to accommodate us according to our choice of hotels and facilitated us more then his commitment and up to our entire satisfaction. Driver Gulfraz was well experienced, cooperative and nice guy. Toyota Corolla XLi Car was in excellent condition.

We arranged our Azad Kashmir trip through Tourplanner. This later proved to be the best thing we did. They had arranged our accommodation which was actually very good. Food was also good. They also handled our transport which was also very comfortable. The driver, who was also our guide, was very professional and courteous. The only issue we faced was 24 hour availability of hot water. We usually had it for 8 - 9 hours.

Where is the Shounter valley located?

The valley is situated over sea level near the Neelum valley , Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. It is almost at a height of 4420 meters from the sea. There is a Shounter pass and lake in the valley. The valley is surrounded by full green mountains that look stunning. Visitors can get avenues from Kel through jeep which opens for two months. The district management has decided to build an almost 12 km long undermine. The underpass in the valley connects it to the other named Astore valley.
