Day 1 : Meet Howrah Station . Train at night 10.55pm or similar train as per train availability.

Day 2 : Reach Berhanpore at morning 07.30am.

Pickup from Berhampur, breakfast on the way, on the way visit Surada Dam , Khunteswari Temple , Rushikulya River . Then check In at hotel. Lunch at Hotel. At Evening start for Sunset Point.

Howrah Station - Start for Daringbadi

Kolkata to Daringbadi - Daringbadi tour itinerary starts from Kolkata where visitors are supposed to meet at Howrah Junction. The train journey will commence from Kolkata. The scheduled time for the festival special train, HWH-YPR SPL (Howrah – Yesvantpur) is at 10.55 P.M from Howrah. There are nine major stations between the Howrah Junction and Berhampur also popularly known as Berhampur.

The train will reach the destination in the following day at 7:30 AM. Our Daringbadi tour guide from kolkata arranges for similar train in case of unavailability of the special train. Our expert has selected this train as by the time our visitors reach the destination it is already morning and this gives them the view while finishing the entire route to Daringbadi.

Surada Dam, Khunteswari Temple, Rushikulya River, Sunset Point, Night Stay Daringbadi.

Once the train reached Berhampur our vehicle will be waiting there before the train arrival. The pickup is arranged beforehand by our Daringbadi tour guide from Kolkata as we do not want our visitors to wait. We have also arranged for a quick breakfast on the way to Daringbadi.

There is couple of places worth a visit while on the way of Daringbadi including a long 80 KM journey from Behrampur to Surada Dam surrounded by the verdant mountains perfect for photographers to also capture few great clicks preserving the memory of the place. We shall also be visiting Khunteswari Temple, Rushikulya River. Our vehicle will also help our visitors to visit these places on the way to avoid any miss later.

We have arranged for the lunch directly at the hotel. Once we happen to check-in at the hotel, after a quick freshen up session, we will be serving our guest with Lunch.

At the evening we start for Sunset View Point, we will be serving our guest with Dinner and a night stay at Daringbadi.

This place also encounters 6 waterfalls under its Gorge. The vast greenery and the extended mountain give a glimpse of number of parallel mountains. In the morning once our visitors finish with their breakfast, we shall directly check out from the hotel to visit Tampara Lake, Taratarini Temple, Rambha. This is going to take a long for us to cover these places. We have a lunch planned for our visitors while on the way so to avoid and detour later.

Once we finish covering these places, we shall arrange for a drop for our visitors directly to the Behrampur Railway station, the same day in the evening for their return train.

Sir Daniel Mackinnon Hamilton (6 December 1860 – 6 December 1939) was a renowned Scottish businessman. He was the builder of rural construction programmes at the time of Indian National Movement. He has established Consumer Co oparative Society, Model Farm, Gosaba Central Co oparative Bank, Jamini Rice mill Rural reconstruction Institute & etc. He has been closely associated with noble laureate Rabindra Nath Tagore and Mahatma Gandhi.

In the year 1903 he bought land of '' . . . about 900 acres in Gosaba and had it reclaimed by feeling the woods and rising embankment on the Riverside.

The home of the Royal Bengal Tiger, Sajnekhali is also a heaven for bird watchers. Tourists can enjoy the panoramic view of Sunderban from Sajnekhali Watch Tower. One can have a glimpse of animals like tiger, deer etc. Nature Interpretation Center has been established, which is protected by a wired fence. Another worth-mentioning spot adjacent to it is crocodile and turtle farm. Other animals that have taken shelter are Fishing Cats, Wild Boar, Macaques, Flying Fox, Chital, Pangolin and others.

It forms the core area of Sunderban National Park. It is the highest tower in Sunderban - it has a height of 50feet. It takes near about 6 hours to reach Bonie camp from Pakhiralay. It is at a hand-shaking distance from the Bay of Bengal. One can have a glimpse of wildlife of Sunderban frequently.

Kalash camp lies at the estuary of River Matla. It lies outside the core area, so visitors, mainly with armed guards, are permitted to reach the beach of Kalash.

During winter, the temperature touches zero degrees centigrade. In December 2019, Daringbadi experienced snowfall. However, please be informed that there is no occurrence of heavy snowfall in Daringbadi. It’s light to moderate. It is normally sunny during the day but after sunset, the temperature plummets drastically making it biting cold.

Daringbadi can be reached in 3 ways – by Railways, Roadways, and Airways.

By Railways: The nearest station  is Behrampur, situated approximately 120 Kms away. A private vehicle easily takes you to there within 3 hours.

By Roadway: From Bhubaneswar, this place is 251 KMS and frequently connected by bus services or you can hire private vehicles as well.

By Airways: Biju Patnaik airport is the nearest one. The distance between the two is 246 KMS and takes around 5 hours 23 minutes by a private vehicle.

What are the main attractions of Daringbadi / Places to Visit in Daringbadi

Belghar Village & Sanctuary This is a renowned hilltop eco-village. This tranquil place also has a sanctuary called Belghar Sanctuary. Lush mountains ensconce this area. There are many wild animals especially elephants. There are a lot of Flora and Fauna in here.

Hill View Point This is a very popular sightseeing spot.  This can truly be called a vantage point as tourists can see the 360-degree vista of Daringbadi and its surroundings. There is a Park on this hill-top which has two watchtowers. The park is very nicely maintained has well-manicured.

Midubanda Waterfall This waterfall is situated at a distance of 16 km from Daringbadi. Just note that you have to get down around 181 stairs to reach the base of one of best the waterfalls in Daringbadi.

Coffee Garden or Coffee Plantations The climatic condition of the area is very much susceptible to the growth of coffee. Hence coffee is harvested all year round. The coffee garden is looked after by the Soil Conservation and Forest Department of Odisha.

Lovers Point This is basically a picnic spot in Daringbadi. This serene spot is 13 km from Daringbadi and is very scenic. The rocky hurdles are like the gateway to the picturesque vista in front of you. There is a small stream that flows through the big rocks and makes a melodious gurgling sound.

Emu Breeding Centre This enclosed area has quite a few emu bids.

Jirang Jirang is the little Tibet of Odisha. This is a quaint little town amidst the Changragiri Hills. You will get an immersive experience in Jiranga. This little-known place is not only popular for its pristine beauty but also because it provided a safe haven to Tibetans when China raged war on Tibet in the year 1959. Harabhangi dam is very scenic to watch.It is in Gajpati district on the way of Bhramhapur (84km) from Daringbadi

Tara Tarini It is a temple complex. The shrine is on the top of the Purnagiri hills. Tara and Tarini are the twin goddesses who are worshipped here. This is one of the four Adi Shakti Peeths. This temple is situated at a height of 708 feet over sea-level. There are three ways to reach this temple. You can either take a rope-way or climb 999 steps or take the motorable road. The panoramic view that you will get to see is also very striking. The Eastern Ghats, verdant forests, lush paddy fields, and Rushikulya making its swaying movement through the grassland.

Gopalpur Gopalpur is an expansive sea-beach which has a very prominent mention in history. It served the sea-farers during the ancient Kalinga period. Gopalpur was an important port during World War 1. The soldiers would commence their journey towards Burma from here. Gopalpur also wears the crown as having the first hotel in Odisha. The sea here is rough. The beach is dotted with casurina groves. The rising and the setting of the sun paints a very scenic picture of the place.

Tampara Lake Though this is an understated lake, yet it is very captivating. This is one of the largest freshwater lakes in Odisha. It is a huge lake. The lake is located in Chatrapur. The distance of this lake from Bhubaneshwar is 148 km and from Berhampur its 30 km. this scenic place is away from the hustle and bustle of city life. You can spend some quality time here with your friends, family or dear ones. The gentle waves and the serene environ will relax your body and mind. This is definitely a very nice tourist spot.

Daringbadi – also referred to as “Kashmir of Odisha”, the hill station Daringbadi is located in the Kandhmal district of Odisha in the Eastern India. Kalinga Ghat: It is another attraction to visit by. Being acknowledged as the longest Ghat road, this valley is well known for medicinal plant cultivation and silvi culture garden. In the silviculture garden, there are many human thick bamboo plants and rubber trees. The climatic situations and temperature remain favourable all throughout the year and this is why, Daringbadi can be visited at any time year around.
