Enchanted Landscapes

I had a wonderful time and loved all the sites. Tour guides were amazingly pleasing, informative and accommodating. Patricia Falchi, what a gem. She was dedicated and kind and always available and willing to answer questions and attend all travelers. Albert was also awesome, 'Familia' was his trademark and that is how he made us feel, like a Family. Overall great experience, tour, and it was a pleasure and so exciting to meet new people and new relationships! a must do for any worldly traveler. There is a lot of walking, July is very hot at 40celsius, moving around and activity but how else will you see the wonders of Europe in 15 days!!! loved the Swiss Alps - truly the best experience overall. Food and people in Italy were the best, and sangria in Spain was awesome!! Paris sites were awesome, food was also very good, except for frittes lol. they will serve you a good steak with fries but not too bad. Switzerland can use some customer service skills particularly the waitresses not making any effort to communicate in any other language but their own, but overall what a beautiful country. Snobby and arrogant attendant in the gift shop at the Alps (lost sales cause the treatment was horrible) but the alps themselves - omg what an experience!!! Would definitely do it again and make sure that Patricia and Albert are my tour guides. Sending my love..

What people love about Coach / Bus Tours in Europe

This tour with Elite Travels was busy - so much to see in so little time. Hotels and food were great. Best part was Damir, our guide for the entire trip. I've taken many tours and he stands out as the best of them all. He was excellent in every way - in giving us clear instructions, telling us what to expect for the day, very patient, answered all out questions, and was very knowledgeable of the places we visited, including their histories. Our driver, Tatiana, was not just an expert driver, but very helpful and kind. Our English speaking local guides were all good, but I would point out Kristina as the best. She had all kinds of surprises for us, including giving me a dance lesson on a local dance and writing my name in cyrilic alphabet. Scars and stories from the war of the 1990s are heartbreaking but I deeply appreciated seeing and hearing them firsthand. Travel must be an educational experience of both the good and bad. So thank you, Elite Travels for a wonderful 10 day journey!
Great experience. Very fun.

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.

Bournemouth coach iraola rules adams out for another game, share this article.

Tyler Adams will miss a fourth consecutive match due to back spasms, according to Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola.

Adams has been held out of three straight matches due to back trouble, and Sunday’s trip to Aston Villa will be too soon for the U.S. men’s national team midfielder.

Iraola gave an update on Adams at his pre-match press conference on Friday, saying the midfielder is “not feeling 100%.”

Iraola added: “Not a bad injury and feeling pain in his muscle, but after so much time out we have to be careful with these decisions. The medical department are dealing with it. I hope he will be back early but definitely not for Villa.”

The back injury is turning into an increasingly frustrating setback for Adams, who only returned from nearly a year out last month.

Adams was sidelined after a hamstring surgery in March 2023, and had to have a second operation after suffering a setback upon his return in September.

The 25-year-old’s  start against Everton  on March 30 marked his first time playing a full match in over a year.

Overall, Adams has made just three appearances for Bournemouth this season. He made an emphatic return to the USMNT in the Nations League last month, scoring a memorable long-range strike against Mexico in the final.

The 8 Most Common Travel Scams Americans Fall For When Abroad

Posted: April 21, 2024 | Last updated: April 21, 2024

<p>A shocking 52% of Americans surveyed byScams.infohave either lost money to travel scams or know someone who has, with the average amount lost totaling $380. So keep your money in your pocket by preparing to face these most common scams targeting tourists around the world.</p> <p><a href="https://planneratheart.com/top-travel-scams/">Travelers Beware: The 8 Most Common Travel Scams Around The World</a></p>

According to AAA booking data, international travel is up more than 200% even with higher airfares. A shocking 52% of Americans surveyed by Scams.info have either lost money to travel scams or know someone who has, with the average loss totaling $380. So keep your money in your own pocket by preparing to face these most common scams targeting tourists around the world.

<p>There’s that vacation we all are dreaming of. But how can you afford it with sky-high childcare payments, increasing home prices, higher food costs, and a never-ending pile of rising bills? Well, what if I told you that with just three realistic changes to your everyday spending, that vacation can be a reality? </p>

What Scams Are Travelers Fooled By Most?

Close to half of U.S. travelers surveyed (46%) have been tricked into paying too much for food or drinks while begging or ”help” scams have gotten 34% of tourists. Pickpocketing has caught 21% off guard and taxi scams got the best of 18%. The lure of free or cheap tours has proven irresistible to 17% of travelers, who later discovered the hidden costs of their “deal.”

Watchout for the seemingly ”helpful” stranger as well which took advantage of 16% of travelers out of their hard-earned money. Fake charity scams have caught 11% of travelers off guard while the flirtatious local and the friendship bracelet scams have each tricked 10% of tourists.

<p>Embarking on a journey to explore new lands is an adventure fueled by dreams of new landscapes, cultures, food, and unforgettable experiences. However, not every destination lives up to what travelers expect. </p>

Where Around the World are Americans Being Scammed the Most?

A deep dive into the data reveals that Southern Europe, Western Europe, the Caribbean, South America, and Central America have been particularly challenging regions for American travelers, with these scams reported more frequently in these areas.

Here are the top scams American tourists are being fooled with abroad.

<p>The scam most frequently encountered by Americans traveling to Australia and Oceanian starts with a glimmer in the eye of a local. The flirtatious local can play out when a stranger strikes up a conversation, makes you feel good, and invites you to a local bar or club. The next thing you know is a monstrous bill you must pay. But that’s just one way this encounter could play out.</p>

The flirtatious local can play out when a stranger strikes up a conversation, makes you feel good, and invites you to a local bar or club. The next thing you know is a monstrous bill you must pay. But that’s just one way this encounter could play out.

<p>In the Caribbean, Central & South Asia, and the Middle East, however, unsuspecting travelers are more likely to be caught by begging or ‘help’ scams. This trick is nothing more than when the scammer assumes the role of a beggar or a desperate soul in need, to take advantage of sympathy. But other times it takes the shape of someone trying to help out a tourist who looks like they are lost or don’t know what to do.</p>

Since we’re Americans, we aren’t used to traveling by train to we arrived at the station a bit too early—our train’s info and platform wasn’t even showing up on the digital screens yet. I saw a printed time table across the station and told my parents to wait while I went to check it out, said Elise, Founder of What The Fab.</p> <p>“It took me a few minutes but I was able to figure out which platform our train would be coming to in a couple hours. When I turned around, I saw someone talking to my parents and thought, “Oh no, they’re getting swindled.” The individual had seen my parents looking lost and confused and played the “helpful stranger,” asking if they needed assistance finding their train. My parents assumed that she worked at the train station, but once she gave them the information, she held out her hand for money, and that’s when they knew they’d been scammed.”</p>

When I turned around, I saw someone talking to my parents and thought, “Oh no, they’re getting swindled.” The individual had seen my parents looking lost and confused and played the “helpful stranger,” asking if they needed assistance finding their train. My parents assumed that she worked at the train station, but once she gave them the information, she held out her hand for money, and that’s when they knew they’d been scammed.”

When we were at the arrivals hall he told us that he will no longer accompany us so we need to tip him now to get our luggage back. That was the point when we realized that he was not from the travel agency,” said Emese Maczko, of Ecolodges Anywhere.</p> <p>“We had no option but to give him money for “his services of carrying our luggage from baggage claim to arrivals” to get our luggage back. He showed which paper money he expects and we gave him that. It was about USD 10, not the end of the world, but it was very cheeky. After he finished with us he went back towards the baggage claim.”</p>

Movie Miscasts: 15 Times the Wrong Actor Was Chosen for a Role

Movie Miscasts: 15 Times the Wrong Actor Was Chosen for a Role

I'm a college student studying abroad. I'm shocked at how many luxury trips my classmates take.

  • I was excited to study abroad in Florence and to take small, cheap trips while abroad.
  • My classmates are not traveling cheaply; they are flying to luxury places like Dubai and the Alps.
  • I wonder if they are just doing it for social media, but I'm still enjoying my time abroad.

Insider Today

As a third-year college student attending Colorado State University in Fort Collins, I jumped at the chance to study abroad . Trading in a semester of snow and freezing temperatures for beautiful architecture and centuries-old art was a no-brainer.

I was so excited that I filled out the application to study in Florence nearly a year before the day I would depart. Four months in Florence, Italy, was comparable to the cost of a semester at my state school . After talking to my parents and counselor, I believed the cultural experience and travel opportunities were worth it.

I knew that when I arrived, I would have to budget when traveling —doing so through communal hostel stays and low-cost airlines. I was prepared for overstuffed backpacks and bus tickets; upon arrival, though, it became clear that pinching pennies was not on everyone's agenda.

The other students are jet-setting every weekend to expensive locations

The first few days in Florence were comparable to a freshman welcome week. The time was full of activities, including hikes, dinners, and other various ventures to get students to meet one another. My roommates and I attended one of the dinners to make connections before classes began.

Standing among groups of strangers , I expected to converse about majors and hometowns; however, I witnessed a quiet competition between students on who would be going to the most places in the coming months.

Comments such as "I have every weekend planned and booked" or "I would go, but I've already been" were stacked on top of one another as my peers attempted to one-up each other. At this time, I had a total of zero trips planned. When caught in these conversations, I felt oddly pressured to also fill my calendar each weekend, accompanied by the feeling of stress due to not being able to afford travel every five days. I feared I would be left behind.

Related stories

I've been here for over two months, and this conversation hasn't ended. Every Monday, I hear whispers about where my peers had jet-setted to days before. Places like Dubai and Morocco have been mentioned, leaving me just as shocked as that first dinner. I knew studying abroad was a privilege before getting here, but "a weekend in Dubai " was not what I expected.

Nobody is 'roughing it' like I thought they would be

My spring break was only three weeks into the start of the semester, and this was when I decided to take my first trip. When booking, I scoured sites, such as KAYAK and Skyscanner, but plane tickets and hotels were still extremely pricey. Eventually, my roommates and I decided to spend five days in Prague after finding affordable tickets on Ryanair. One of the greatest appeals of Prague was it was walkable, cheap, and had a good nightlife — my top three requirements as a traveling college student.

My three roommates and I booked a studio apartment for around $100 each for a total of five nights. It took us two trains, one bus, a plane, and some walking to get there, but the price was right. I was excited for the following week and felt satisfied with our trip and housing accommodations.

That was until I scrolled through Instagram to see my peers skiing in the Alps and skydiving in Copenhagen. It was almost unbelievable that the people I attend classes with could afford this style of travel while my school backpack was stuffed with a week's worth of clothes cause I opted out of the carry-on baggage fee Ryanair required.

I thought everyone at this stage made sacrifices when traveling, but I was mostly wrong.

I'm convinced people are traveling for the sake of their Instagram

I have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that anyone can experience a new country in the span of 48 hours.

I do know, however, that people are really good at making their time away look like the best time ever on my Instagram feed . It's as if they're collecting comments like postcards or putting another notch in their belts by showing one another how many stamps they have accumulated in their passports.

Traveling while studying abroad is a competitive sport with a large price tag that no one told me to train for.

I've learned that such comparisons defeat the purpose of traveling. Maybe I haven't flown on the best airlines or stayed in an oceanfront villa, but my experiences abroad have been enriching and allowed me to engage with other cultures. Best of all? I didn't have to spend much money, and my Instagram still looks good.

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.
