“I’ve got some good news. We’re coming back to Brazil in November to play for you. We have such great memories from all our visits. I love coming to Brazil because you guys like to rock, sing and party all at once. We’re really excited. Let’s have fun. Let’s rock. Let’s roll. Let’s stomp. Let’s stroll. And Brazil, let’s have a great time,” Paul McCartney said in his last statement.

His band continues the same with Paul “Wix” Wickens (keyboards), Brian Ray (bass/guitar), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (drums).

Sir Paul McCartney MBE is an English musician, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer and one of the most celebrated musicians of the 20th century.

He was part of perhaps the most famous British band of the 20th century, The Beatles who are regarded as one of the most popular and influential acts in the history of rock music and his songwriting partnership with John Lennon is one of the greatest of all time. McCartney has been recognised as one of the most successful performers of all time collating 60 gold discs and sales of over 100 million albums and 100 million singles of his work with the Beatles and as a solo artist.

In 1999 he received the honour of being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist due to the fact that he has written, or co-written 32 songs that have reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, and as of 2014 he has sold more than 15.5 million RIAA-certified units in the United States. McCartney, Lennon, Harrison and Starr received MBEs in 1965, and in 1997, McCartney was knighted for his services to music. He performed at the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games and is seen as ambassador of British music.

McCartney first met Lennon at a church fete in 1967 where he was performing with his current band The Quarrymen, little did they know they would form such a close working relationship and would eventually become the most successful recording band in history. Cited as the driving force behind the first ever rock concept album, 'St. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club', McCartney kept creativity at the forefront of everything he did.

He currently holds an honorary doctorate degree from Yale Music, a Brit Award for an Outstanding Contribution to Music, twenty-one Grammy Awards and a knighthood. The tireless musician is still touring to this day and shows no sign of slowing.

Live reviews

The Paul McCartney concert on October 30, 2014 in Greensboro, NC was far and away the best concert I have been to and I have been to many. To see this music legend alone is amazing but to see him and his band, not missing a beat the entire evening, goes beyond amazing. McCartney's voice gave just a little a couple of times but his enery and showmanship was spot on, and and other than those one or two times, his voice was as rich as ever. Make no mistake, the tickets were expensive but you get every penny's worth of your money back in the show you get. He started late, about 45 minutes or so, but then played for almost 3 straight hours and did 2 extended encores. Just amazing. I saw BB King not too long ago and he played about the length of one of McCartney's encores and just droned on and on for the rest of the hour long show, telling stories that I guess he found entertaining but no one else did, as evidenced by a few boo's. Sad and a waste of good money. Don't get me wrong-I still love BB King but it was a sad waste of time and money that night. You will not have any waste seeing Paul McCartney. His renditions of the old Beatles songs were a delightful step back in time, his Wings songs as tight as ever and it all just got better and better. The lighting and background effects on a large wall of lights produced beautiful effects that went from psychadelic to photo's of children, the Beatels, buildings and more. Standing alone and playing an acoustic guitar on a large block that rose about 20 feet above the stage was fantastic, with a full moon, leafless tree and midnight blue sky behind him. And then a large blue rose forming on the front of the block just set the mood for his excellent guitarwork and vocals. When the show ends with Live and Let Die, they pyrotechnics were amazing. The roar of about 16,000 fans combined with fireworks and blasts of flames in perfect unison was the way to hit a finale. And the 2 encores were a perfect end to a perfect night. If you get a chance to see Paul McCarney, go-just go! Worth the money and then some!

PAUL MCCARTNEY is Out There playing for 3 hours. Yes, that is right! Pauly rocked the sold out show for 3 hours. This is the third time I have had the pleasure of seeing him and have seen many other bands but this was the best show I have ever seen. Not only did he rock out with fab Beatle songs like "Helter Skelter" but he also slowed it down with songs like "The Long And Winding Road". He treated us to some great Wings surprises like "Hi Hi Hi" and "Listen To What The Man Said". He also played some great songs from his latest album "New". I have his concert DVD's and he added many different songs to the mix while still keeping in some of the hoped for favorites.

I don't want to give anything away but there are some awesome surprises music wise awaiting the lucky person who will attend one of his shows.

This is a must see show, the material spanned his entire career. He sounded fantastic and he looks great! To all the ladies out there, you will still swoon when you see him! I did! He was funny and charming. One of the most refreshing things was that you could tell he was having an awesome time and you felt like he wanted to stay and play longer as much as you wanted him to stay and play longer! He really shows his fans that he cares about us as much as we care about him.

A very cool and unexpected event: He brought a couple up onstage who had a sign stating that he was ordained and would he marry them. He did a short little ceremony for them stating that it really wasn't legal but it was awesome! I totally wanted to grab the guy next to me (who I didn't know) and yell "We're next!"

I really think this is a show for anyone who really loves music. Paul was changing his guitar's and bass's out even playing one of his original guitars that he used for Sgt.Peppers. Throwing in an awesome tribute to Jimi Hendrix. Go see him if you get the chance. I would go again tonight if I could!

Beatles legend and Wings mainman, Paul McCartney will remain indelibly etched into the annals of time. The humanitarian, bassist and vocalist has traversed six decades, performing in some of the world's biggest and best venues, at historic moments (Band Aid), and unique moments (who ever pegged Macca as a Nirvana member?!), McCartney is a one-of-a-kind performer, fully deserving his place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The 72-year-old Liverpudlian is entirely at ease on stage – he's essentially lived there for the best portion of his life – his catalogue is studded with megaton hits. Bond theme “Live And Let Die” (replete with flamethrowers when performed at festivals), Stevie Wonder duet “Ebony and Ivory”, “Coming Up” and “Jet” are non-Beatles bangers, but he frequently performs legendary cuts like “Let It Be”, “Back In The USSR” and “Hey Jude” at the end of his sets. How thoroughly immense is it watching a genuine Beatle lead a rousing chorus of “Naa naa naa nanananaaaaa?" Though arguably not as elastic as he once was – don't expect too many backflips – he's still a consummate entertainer. His voice has aged, but he still smashes every note, and his fretwork's not diminished a smidgen. It's rare you get to see a legend in the flesh, but grab any chance to witness McCartney, and you'll not regret it.

Paul McCartney. Just let the legend of that name sink in.

I can honestly, without a doubt say that this was the best concert/show I have ever been to (and I have been to numerous concerts).

Not only did he perform his New songs, but he performed all of his hits from The Beatles to The Wings as well. And I am sure he barely hit the top of the iceberg with what he performed considering his incredible library of number 1s and hundreds upon hundreds of songs.

This 72 year old man performed a 3 hour nonstop performance in clouding pyrotechnics, memoriams to his late and great Beatle counterparts, and 3 encores without breaking a sweat.

He may not be able to hold his notes as long as he did when he was younger but he still sounded amazing nonetheless. I was blown away and so happy that I can tell my kids when I am older that I saw one of The Beatles and it was perfect.

I don't think I have ever recommended a concert as highly as I am for Sir Paul. He is a living legend and am honored to have seen him rocking, running all over the place and putting on a great performance at the age of 72.

YOU MUST GO SEE HIM LIVE. It's an experience well worth the money and his tickets start at 25 for far seats but even so, WORTH IT.

BEST CONCERT OF MY LIFE!! I can say Even one of the most incredible moments of my life. I know what it means being able to see the legend Sir Paul McCartney live and he fullfill all my expectations and way more! His band is absolutely amazing!

But let me tell you the highlight of my year:

I could only afford the cheapest level tickets but I was more than ok with that since i was going to see my idol, then on my way to our seats with my 2 girlfriends, an angel waiting at the top of the stairs ask us to see our tickets and then offer to change them, we were surprised and maybe thinking it was a scam but then she pulled her envelope with 3 FIRST ROW TICKETS!! Best seat in the arena, she identify herself as part of Sir Paul team, and after many thank yous and hugs we went to see the biggest concert.

Thats why he is the absolutely GREATEST rock star of this planet! Beacuse he truly cares about his audiences, i will never in my wildest dreams tought i was going to see able to be on the first row, besides the wonderful drama of the situation his performance was perfect, spotless, he is full of energy and will be forever grateful to him for such an amazing night.

Sir Paul McCartney concert in Munchen was fabulous (Fab four, Fab one :)). The Olympiastadion was full of happy delighted people who were lucky enough to get a ticket. There were Beatles fans along with Wings and Macca fans from many different countries, young and not so young people, all cheerfully singing the everlasting songs and dancing to our beloved music that defined the lives of many of us. The show went on for full 2 hours and 40 minutes, almost 40 songs from all periods, from late 50's to nowadays hits.

For me, it was a once in a lifetime event. I grew up with Beatles and Paul McCartney music, and I have been waiting for a long time for this. It's been a long time since I bought my first Beatles record, even long time since I bought my last one (not to mention I have all Beatles records plus many of their solo albums :)), and the possibility to see one of my heroes live in concert, it was just a dream come true.

It was worth every single penny spent on concert ticket, air ticket, airport transfers, accomodation for couple of days, and of course whole lotta german beer :)

Long live Sir Paul, long live Beatles, forever live their eternal music!

This is the second time I've seen Paul McCartney in the past few years, and yet again he did NOT disappoint. First of all, he played almost 3 hours both times, so you will get plenty of bang for your buck based on the duration of his show alone. Secondly, considering he is 72 years old, he still nails most of the hard notes and delivers a true, genuine performance while frequently interacting with the audience in between songs. Paul is a very personable character that makes the fans feel appreciated and loved as much as we love him. His show started with a few songs that would be recognizable to the casual fan, it delved off into some less "commonly" known songs and a couple cuts from his new album (which also sounded great), then he closed out the show with MANY huge hits and sing-alongs that definitely left the audience wanting more! The pyrotechnics that kicked in during Live and Let Die were unexpected and amazing! I think he also did three encores as well, and I would definitely return to watch any future shows he does in Kansas City!

aronktaylor’s profile image

I don't need to say how amazing this man is and how happy I am to have attended this show. On "Live and let die" there was even pyrotechnics and fireworks. Paul was telling us stories, singing and joking, I think he switched more than 5 guitars during the show and the evening was just overall beautiful.

The venue was terrible, though.. There was no warning about not bringing the bags and we had to pay 15 Euros to leave the bag before getting in - backpacks were not allowed at all (so they basically forced us to give this money as it was too late to go back to hotel and leave it there). Also the security check was useless.. We were drinking in line to warm up and forgot about empty bottle in the pocket.. Guess what? We were able to bring a GLASS BOTTLE through security check, cause we didn't remember and they never checked.. What if I was a psycho? It's glass after all.

As soon as the legend, Sir Paul McCartney himself took the stage, the magic began! He performed for three solid hours, entertaining the crowd with songs written with the Beatles, with Wings, and on his own. I got teary-eyed when he first came into view, as you don't expect to see a legend, at 72 years old, still performing at the top of his game! Paul McCartney still LOVES what he does! Financially, he doesn't need to perform. He does it because he loves to and because he still can, which is impressive! This concert shall be one of my favorites for a long time - and I've attend many concerts in my lifetime. He came out and did two encores, even running around the stage. He never sat down unless poised at the piano. A legend, a master, a must-see!

Paul McCartney announces Australian tour, regional cities included in line-up

Paul McCartney plays the guitar on stage.

Legendary musician Paul McCartney has announced he will bring his Got Back tour to Australia this year, with two regional cities on the line-up.

Key points:

  • Sir Paul will play Adelaide, Melbourne, Newcastle, Sydney, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast
  • His US tour featured a catalogue of Beatles, Wings, and solo hits across nearly 3 hours
  • The show features a duet with the late John Lennon using modern technology

The English singer-songwriter who gained worldwide fame with The Beatles will hold shows in Newcastle and the Gold Coast for the first time.

The tour will kick off in Adelaide on October 18, the city where The Beatles made history in 1964 on their first visit to Australia .

An estimated 350,000 people lined the streets between the airport and Town Hall to catch a glimpse of the band.

Sir Paul will then travel to Melbourne for a show on October 21, Newcastle October 24, Sydney October 27, Brisbane November 1, and the Gold Coast on November 4.

This will be his first time in Australia since his award-winning tour in 2017 .

Regional cities on the line-up

The tour will include first visits to Newcastle and Gold Coast.

Frontier Touring CEO Dion Brant said Sir Paul wanted "at least a few places different" to his 2017 tour.

" We saw when Elton [John] came just how Newcastle embraced the show and embraced Elton and his team," he said.

"We were super excited to suggest the [regional locations] to Paul and we're really excited that he's agreed to do it."

Paul McCarthy live in Glastonbury, with John Lennon behind him.

Mr Brant said the company had been wanting to get Sir Paul back after his visit six years ago.

"People were blown away and there was so much regret from people who didn't go, back in 2017," he said.

"To be honest, we started conversations then about coming back the following summer … and then Paul got quite busy.

"And you know, it's Paul McCartney … so you take the time frame you can get."

What can the audience expect?

Mr Brant said fans can expect a jam-packed show.

"In the US last year he was playing for just under three hours, plays dozens of songs, and the set lists are all over the internet. But it's hit after hit after hit," he said.

"I think that the interesting thing with Paul is he's got such a deep catalogue of Beatles songs, Wings songs, and solo hits, that you know it's impossible to fit them all in.

"But he has a fair go for somebody his age."

The show features a duet with the late John Lennon using modern technology.

Mr Brant said tickets start around $80, up to around $400.

VIP packages will also be available.

Paul McCartney, 81, Opens 2023 ‘Got Back’ Tour

Paul McCartney opens his 2023 tour, Adelaide, Australia (Photo via his Facebook page)

Paul McCartney returned to the concert stage on Wednesday (October 18, 2023) for his first concert of the year. The legend opened the new edition of his “Got Back” tour in Adelaide, Australia, his first of seven shows Down Under, with a 39-song set that spanned his Beatles, Wings and solo career.

McCartney launched the “Got Back” tour in February 2022, completing 16 shows across the U.S. before performing his final concert of that year at the Glastonbury festival in the U.K. on June 25. The setlist for the 2023 tour’s opening concert was almost identical to the ones he performed in 2022, with the notable addition of “She’s a Woman,” which he hadn’t played live since 2004.

“Let’s hear it for a long time ago,” said McCartney , as the band launched into “She’s a Woman.”

The 81 year-old announced the tour on July 31. It currently runs for 17 shows this year including dates in Mexico and Brazil. McCartney’s longtime band features Paul “Wix” Wickens (keyboards), Brian Ray (bass/guitar), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (drums).

Twelve songs in came “Maybe I’m Amazed.”

He was last in Australia in December 2017 .

Around halfway through, McCartney began playing that familiar jaunty piano from “Lady Madonna.”

Toward the end of the main set, the band performed an “explosive” “Live and Let Die.”

As he did on the 2022 edition of the tour, as McCartney opened the encores with “I Got a Feeling,” while “performing” a duet with John Lennon via film footage on the screen behind the stage.

Tickets to see McCartney are available here  and here .

From paulmccartney.com, August 23, 2023:

Paul has announced the highly anticipated GOT BACK Tour, set to grace Mexico City with an amazing concert at the emblematic Foro Sol, the first Mexican date in six years. The show is scheduled for November 14, when fans can expect an unforgettable experience as Paul and his band deliver a once-in-a-lifetime event in the country. The GOT BACK Tour kicked off on April 28, 2022, in Spokane, WA, with resounding success, captivating audiences with a 13-city run throughout the US. In June 2022, the music icon headlined Glastonbury with a history-making set that was described by the British Times as the “best gig ever”. This year, Paul will embark on a thrilling journey to Australia where he will have an emotional return to Adelaide, besides visiting cities such as Melbourne, Newcastle, Sydney and more. Now, Mexican fans will have the opportunity to witness Paul’s incredible live performance, making it his first live show in the country since 2017, when he gave an outstanding concert at Estadio Azteca.
I’m very excited to say I’m coming to Mexico to play some gigs with my  Got Back tour in November. I’ve got such great memories of Mexico. Every time we come we have a beautiful time. So we’re going to make some more great memories. We’re going to rock, we’re going to roll. And we’re going to have a party. Fiesta! Paul McCartney – From paulmccartney.com , August 23, 2023
Los Mexicanos son los mejores! What a night! Paul McCartney – From Paul McCartney (@PaulMcCartney) / X (twitter.com) , November 15, 2023

From Paul McCartney, February 13, 2024:

It was the best possible start to our time in Mexico: touching down in Mexico City to the news that ‘Now and Then’ was Number One. A record-breaking feat (marking the longest ever gap between chart-topping singles by one act), it was for everyone a poignant and fitting finale to The Beatles’ recording career.  I’d been at home as the buzz around the single took hold around the world, listening as radio DJs still marvelled at its existence, and watching as Tik-Tokers really took to the ‘Now and Then’ theme. It was so exciting to see the song being embraced, loved, and celebrated. We’d all had high hopes, but this news was unbelievable.  (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); As a new global wave of Beatlemania spread, Mexico fully entered into the spirit of things. The country was already eagerly anticipating Paul’s return, having not played a show there since 2017, but the joy and gratitude surrounding The Beatles’ swan song had raised excitement levels to fever pitch. It was clear to see, amid the billowing banners, blankets of posters, non-stop TV coverage, and with #paulmccartney trending here on socials, that Maccamania was in full effect. His visit was a national occasion. “McCartney makes explosive comeback.” – El Universal, November 2023 A giant replica of the ‘Now and Then’ cassette was making its way around Mexico City while we were there, becoming a social media star in its own right as fans attempted to track it down for photo opportunities. Elsewhere, red and blue buses – representing the two new remixed editions of The Beatles’  1962-1966/1967-1970  compilations – were also spotted on the move. Perhaps they were on a Mexican Mystery Tour? But it was the Mexican fans themselves who truly personified the hysteria and adoration that Paul commands wherever he goes. The energy and passion of his devoted following is palpable, and always makes for a special experience. Here in Mexico City, they lined the streets outside our hotel, screaming his name, singing his songs, and being an ever-present source of encouragement and positivity. Despite Paul receiving this reaction many times over many years in many places, I can assure you that it’s not taken for granted for a single second. We were all overawed.  “McCartney continues to write history as a genius of the 20th and 21st centuries.” – Reforma, November 2023 Sixty-thousand fans packed each of Paul’s two nights at Foro Sol. Every single one of them cheered when Paul spoke Spanish to them, saying hello and acknowledging the language barrier. It was a conscious effort on Paul’s part to ensure he could connect so directly with his audience – what they wouldn’t have known was that before the show, Paul had spent an hour taking a language lesson to get the words right, which meant he’d had to cut back on his daily dose of Family Feud! The sacrifice was of course worth it: the crowd’s reaction to Paul’s linguistic skills was mighty and euphoric. Not many artists make the effort to communicate so personally with their audiences, but for Paul it is a natural instinct. “He is capable of making everyone sing,”  Reforma reported after the first night, in which Paul kept the Mexicans accompanying him vocally through a string of solo, Wings and Beatles hits – the Quarrymen tune ‘In Spite Of All The Danger’ , which was the first song recorded by what would become The Beatles, sounded so much more meaningful now, serving as an emotional contrast to the last song they recorded, which was so prevalent at this time. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); “It was a show of nostalgia, overflowing energy and a sign that classics never go out of style.” – La Razon, November 2023 Something that I love to see while on tour with Paul is the new generations of fans coming to his shows. It’s not just young people coming to see Paul, it’s young people coming to see Paul with their parents, or even their grandparents, and having such a great time. The music connects them – it connects everybody – despite each song having a different meaning or significance to everyone. I also love those who make an effort when they come to a Paul McCartney concert. The Mexicans didn’t let me down – it was great to see a bunch of them dressed in the full  Sgt Pepper  uniforms, and turning the event into a real party. Talking of parties, after the first show in Mexico – as if we were not on a maximum high already – Paul hosted a birthday party for his wife, Nancy, back at the hotel. Lots of their friends and family had flown in for the special occasion. The drinks were flowing and there was lots of dancing, laughing and smiling. A very late but enjoyable evening was had. Paul even made a lovely speech to Nancy – it was a very romantic moment, but to share anything else wouldn’t be fair! Ahead of the second show and just an hour before greeting his 60,000 friends for round two, Paul took 20 minutes to conduct a Zoom interview for ‘Conversa Com Bial (Talk With Bial)’, a late-night national chat show with presenter Pedro Bial, to talk about his forthcoming biggest Brazilian tour to date. Paul was quick to celebrate the music and people of Brazil, and it was cool to hear about Lizzie Bravo, the Brazilian fan who in 1968 was invited into Abbey Road Studios to sing with The Beatles on ‘Across The Universe’.  There was also a new face present backstage in Mexico – well, almost a face…! Paul’s label in Mexico, Universal Music Mexico, awarded him a magnificent handmade painted skull in recognition of landmark solo sales achievements in the country (achievements including  Band on the Run  going platinum, ‘Maybe I’m Amazed’ going gold, and ‘Say, Say, Say’going 4 times platinum and gold). A stunning work of art, it was decorated with amazing vivid colours, with piercing yellow eyes and a broad grin full of shiny white teeth. Paul was very proud of the trophy, and displayed it in his dressing room for all to see. I’ll need to ask him if he’s named it yet! “There is something to thank Paul McCartney for this show at Foro Sol: remaining that tireless idol, that legend who loves music and who has marked – as cliché as it may sound – so many generations over time.” – Sopitas, November 2023 I’m often asked what my favourite Paul show is. Well, I don’t have an answer for that, because it’s like being asked what your favourite song is. Sure, there are some standout moments, but generally each show is a different occasion. However, a very powerful memory that I have is of Zócalo Square, Mexico City, in 2012. It was epic. I remember the sound of the audience. I remember the floor vibrating. I wondered how you could ever top this for a Mexican live experience. But, as I sat watching and singing along with 60,000 people on the 16th November, I had an equally brilliant experience. A different memory, but still incredible. We often joke in the crew that we get once-in-a-lifetime-memories at least once a week working with Paul, but when I think about it, it’s actually not really a joke. It’s the truth! “Few things in the world are eternal, Sir Paul McCartney is one of them.” – Excelsior, November 2023 Stuart Bell – Paul McCartney’s UK publicist

Paul McCartney's Iconic Tour Bus To Go Up For Auction, Expected To Sell For Over $200,000

  • Paul McCartney is auctioning off his iconic Wings tour bus from 1972, expected to sell for over $200k.
  • The tour bus was a family affair, with Paul, Linda, and their three kids traveling together during the tour.
  • Paul McCartney's band Wings was a pivotal moment in his career post-The Beatles, but his family was always his priority.

A lucky fan might get the chance to buy a piece of music history. Paul McCartney has decided to put one of his tour buses up for auction, and it's a very special one. While obviously his most famous band is The Beatles , just years after they broke up, he and Linda McCartney put together another hugely successful group: Paul McCartney & Wings . This band was one of the most important groups of the '70s and meant a lot to his solo career.

Paul McCartney Reveals How He Almost Changed The Words One Of 'The Beatles' Most Iconic Song

Now, he's parting ways with the psychedelic tour bus that took his band and his family all over Europe during their first big tour in 1972. The auction of the iconic bus is expected to sell for a staggering amount of money. The auction starts in just five days.

Paul McCartney's Iconic Wings Tour Bus Expected To Sell For Over $200 Thousand

From April 22 to 29, the double-decker tour bus that took Paul McCartney's band Wings all over Europe in 1972 will be up for auction and is expected to reach between £150,000 and £200,000 , with the higher end being almost $250 thousand .

The bus has been kept in almost perfect period condition, and pre-bids are already open for eager fans who want to get ahead. The double-decker has been restored, with the art on it, a clear homage to the iconic Yellow Submarine aesthetic, looking as impeccable as it did back in 1972 .

This tour was a very important one for Paul McCartney, as it was the first big tour of his new band after the painfully public breakup of The Beatles . The band had been working hard for a year prior, establishing themselves playing small shows at English universities, but this was the first time they would be playing big venues, something McCartney hadn't done since The Beatles stopped touring back in 1966.

He had put out a couple of solo albums before Wings , which he wrote with his wife Linda McCartney, and since he wanted her to play with him on Wings as well, he taught her to play piano and asked her to join his new band.

The McCartney Family Lived On That Bus During The Tour

A very well-known fact about Paul and Linda McCartney is that, during their marriage, they never spent a night apart from each other ( except when Paul was arrested in Japan, but that's another story ). The couple were very family-oriented, and while they loved making music together, their children always took priority.

So, in 1972, despite only going on tour for a month and a half, they made sure the tour bus was kid-friendly, as they took their three daughters, Heather, Mary, and Stella McCartney with them, something they repeated on every tour while the kids were little .

Paul McCartney's Son James Louis Is Also A Musician, But Has Different Views When It Comes To His Personal Life

"Our main reason was, we worried about leaving the kids at home and then getting a nanny or somebody ringing up saying 'oh they’ve gone into hospital' or 'they’re very ill', and we’d be far away in Australia or something," Paul McCartney explained.

Bringing them on tour didn't mean they were neglectful, though. "When we decided to bring them along we tried to be very careful about the sensible stuff like their education. We did things like going to their school and asking the teachers what the class are going to be doing while we’re away, and then we had a tutor that came with us - the kids hated him! They did not like being told in the afternoon that it was 'school time!'. They’d protest: 'No, we wanna go to the beach!'" the Beatle recalled amused .

Paul McCartney and his kids now look back to that time fondly and have no regrets about sharing touring as a family.
