El Clásico is coming back to the United States.

Barcelona and Real Madrid will face off on U.S. soil for the third time, with their match at the 105,000-seat AT&T Stadium in Texas highlighting this summer’s Soccer Champions Tour.

The series, which is being put on by investment firm Sixth Street, event promoter Legends, and AEG, the owners of the LA Galaxy, will be played in California, Texas, Nevada, and Florida. Seven of the eight matches will take place in NFL or college football stadiums, while Juventus will meet AC Milan at the Galaxy’s home, Dignity Health Sports Park.

Kickoff times have not yet been announced, and in a release announcing the event, it was noted that “the matches remain subject to approval by the relevant football authorities.” An exclusive pre-sale window will begin May 16, with tickets going on sale for the general public on May 19.

Another preseason Clasico, Barcelona-Real Madrid, coming to U.S. this summer

In what has become a burgeoning, money-making tradition , FC Barcelona and Real Madrid will bring their renowned rivalry to the United States for a second consecutive summer.

They'll play El Clasico, as its known, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on July 29, as part of the second-year Soccer Champions Tour.

It will be a preseason match, of course. The tour — which will also feature Manchester United , Arsenal , Juventus and AC Milan — is not a tournament like some of its predecessors were. It is essentially eight one-off games, smack-dab in the middle of the Women's World Cup, billed by organizers as a "summer series" that will span California, Las Vegas, Texas and Florida.

But the headliner is the game of all games, perhaps the world's most celebrated sporting rivalry, at the grandiose stadium of all grandiose stadiums, Jerry World, the 105,000-seat home of the Dallas Cowboys that aspires to host the 2026 World Cup final .

El Clasico comes to the U.S.

When Barca and Madrid first brought their blood feud to the U.S. in 2017, the concept was ridiculed by some purists; but the exhibition game, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, was a roaring success. The Miami Clasico drew 1.7 million viewers on ESPN platforms and a sellout crowd willing to pay several hundreds of dollars apiece for tickets. Players competed, genuinely. A 3-2 Barcelona win thrilled everybody involved.

It felt, at the time, like a watershed moment for the International Champions Cup , the preseason event that grew to 18 teams and 27 games spread across nine countries late last decade. In early 2020, organizers were in negotiations to inaugurate Southern California’s SoFi Stadium with a second stateside Clasico that summer.

But then came COVID-19. The ICC canceled its 2020 programming, fizzled during the pandemic, and devolved into a legal dispute between its parent company, Relevent Sports, and its mastermind, the legendary soccer promoter Charlie Stillitano. The men's ICC has not been played since.

Relevent still runs a women’s ICC and other ventures. This summer, it is working with England 's Premier League and Spain 's La Liga on two separate North American tours. But in 2022, the Soccer Champions Tour swooped in for Barca and Madrid, and organized a Clasico at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. (Barca won, 1-0, in front of a boisterous, sellout crowd.)

In its second year, the Soccer Champions Tour has expanded to feature two clubs each from Spain, England and Italy . Sixth Street, a global investment firm that has partnered with both Barca and Real Madrid , is the company behind it. AEG is producing it. Legends is a key partner. And Stillitano, according to a source with knowledge of the tour's evolution, has been involved as a consultant.

Preseason tour schedules

The Soccer Champions Tour announced its full 2023 slate Friday:

Saturday, July 22: Barcelona vs. Juventus — Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara, California

Sunday, July 23: Real Madrid vs. AC Milan — Rose Bowl, Pasadena, California

Wednesday, July 26: Arsenal vs. Barcelona — SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, California

Wednesday, July 26: Real Madrid vs. Manchester United — NRG Stadium, Houston

Thursday, July 27: Juventus vs. AC Milan — Dignity Health Sports Park, Carson, California

Saturday, July 29: Barcelona vs. Real Madrid — AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas

Tuesday, August 1: AC Milan vs Barcelona — Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas

Wednesday, August 2: Juventus vs. Real Madrid — Camping World Stadium, Orlando

Kickoff times haven’t yet been determined. In their Friday news release, organizers said that “the matches remain subject to approval by the relevant football authorities,” but that is likely a formality.

Separately, Arsenal and Manchester United have organized a preseason friendly at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 22. United is also set to play Wrexham on July 25 in San Diego — presumably with a reserve team, because one day later, it is now scheduled to play Real Madrid in Houston. It then plays Borussia Dortmund on July 30 in Vegas .

Arsenal will also play the MLS All-Stars on July 19 in Washington, D.C.

The Premier League's own "summer series" will feature Chelsea , Newcastle, Aston Villa , Fulham , Brighton and Brentford, with games in Philadelphia, Atlanta, Orlando, New Jersey and Maryland.

Global soccer giants set to face off in major U.S. markets from July 22 – August 2

SAN FRANCISCO (May 12, 2023) – Soccer Champions Tour today announced the launch and schedule for a new series of games featuring six of the world’s most iconic soccer clubs to be played this summer in major markets across the United States. Spain’s Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, Italy’s Juventus Football Club and AC Milan, and England’s Arsenal and Manchester United will compete in eight matches between Saturday, July 22, and Wednesday, August 2, 2023.

The 2023 Soccer Champions Tour is the first time these six clubs, which hold among them 31 European trophies, have participated together in a U.S. series. The eight fixtures will take place in host market stadiums in Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orlando, and San Francisco.

Soccer Champions Tour was created by a newly formed company of global investment firm Sixth Street to support the continued global growth of top-tier sports franchises by organizing high-profile, competitive events for the millions of fans that live outside the domestic markets of the biggest clubs.

“We are proud to be partnering with the world’s most storied clubs, which have the world’s strongest and most passionate supporters, to provide this rare opportunity for American fans to experience the game at the highest level,” said Alan Waxman, Co-Founder and CEO at Sixth Street. “While this year’s tour consists of men’s clubs, we look forward to expanding next summer to bring the world’s best women’s clubs to local audiences around the globe, and in the future to evolve this series into a format with real games of consequence.”

In addition to men’s and women’s professional club matches, the tour also intends to organize elite youth academy competitions in the years to come.

Soccer Champions Tour is working closely with global premium experiences company Legends to bring these marquee matchups and elevated in-game experiences to local fans of the game.

Added Shervin Mirhashemi, CEO, Legends: “Legends is proud to bring fans of the beautiful game this unforgettable experience this summer and deliver a fan experience that will match the world-class soccer on the pitch. We can’t wait to see stadiums filled across the United States with fans cheering on some of the best clubs in the world as they compete in the Soccer Champions Tour.”

The 2023 Soccer Champions Tour is being produced in partnership with AEG, the world’s leading sports and live entertainment company.

“AEG is excited about the partnership with Soccer Champions Tour and Legends to bring the most successful soccer clubs in the world to fans across the U.S.,” said Tom Braun, Sr. Vice President, Soccer & Business Operations and Business Development at AEG. “Every matchup in this series is of the highest caliber and we’re thrilled that American soccer fans will have the opportunity to see these epic games featuring legendary teams live and in person.”

Soccer Champions Tour 2023 full schedule

The teams involved cannot all play each other as it isn't practical for each club's pre-season commitments. Manchester United will only play one game as part of the Soccer Champions Tour, while others will face more opponents.

Real and Barca look like the headliners of the tournament, playing four games each, more than anyone else.

The major fixture is El Clasico between Barcelona and Real Madrid in Texas, but Juventus vs AC Milan in a new setting will be interesting and there is always a certain allure about Real Madrid vs Man Utd.

This tournament was created by Sixth Street and there is a stated aim of spreading it to the women's game in the future.

"We are proud to be partnering with the world's most storied clubs, which have the world's strongest and most passionate supporters, to provide this rare opportunity for American fans to experience the game at the highest level," said Alan Waxman, co-founder and CEO at Sixth Street.

"While this year's tour consists of men's clubs, we look forward to expanding next summer to bring the world's best women's clubs to local audiences around the globe, and in the future to evolve this series into a format with real games of consequence."

How to watch the Soccer Champions Tour 2023

For fans in the United Kingdom, club-specific channels - which often require a subscription fee - are the way to go. Channels like Sky Sports and TNT Sports never tend to advertise friendlies of this nature.

Several of the biggest soccer teams in the world will take the pitch in the New York metropolitan area this summer.

MetLife Stadium and Yankee Stadium will play host to two of the six matches that will be part of the 2024 Soccer Champions Tour, The Post has learned, which takes place from July 27 to Aug. 6 and involves European heavyweights Real Madrid, AC Milan, FC Barcelona, Manchester City and Chelsea.

The two matches in the New York area pit Man City against AC Milan at Yankee Stadium on July 27 and Real Madrid against FC Barcelona at MetLife Stadium on Aug. 3.

“Soccer Champions Tour is thrilled to return this summer with enticing matchups featuring some of the world’s most storied clubs for fans in the U.S. to witness the beautiful game at the highest level,” Commissioner of Soccer Champions Tour Joe Carr said in a statement. “With all five clubs possessing passionate supporters that span the globe, we’re pleased to unveil an exciting range of matches throughout the U.S., a market experiencing exponential growth in the sport’s popularity.”

Erling Braut Haaland scores Manchester City's third goal against Manchester United at Etihad Stadium in Premier League match.

Matches will also take place in Orlando (Barcelona-Manchester City), Chicago (AC Milan-Real Madrid), Baltimore (Barcelona-AC Milan) and Charlotte (Real Madrid-Chelsea) as part of the Soccer Champions Tour.

New York has long been a summer stop for touring international clubs, but carries some extra significance as the metropolitan area gears up to host the World Cup final in 2026.

MetLife Stadium was selected by FIFA last month to host the coveted game, beating out AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, among other potential sites.

With the World Cup coming to North America in two short years’ time, the profile of the sport is growing, and friendlies featuring some of the biggest teams in soccer can only help generate more interest.

Christian Pulisic smiles, wearing AC Milan's red jersey, after scoring the goal in their 1-0 victory against Sassuolo in the Italy Soccer Serie A.

AC Milan boasts US men’s national team star Christian Pulisic on the roster.

Pulisic has been red-hot in his debut season with the Serie A club. He has 12 goals this season for AC Milan and has scored in four straight games recently.

It’s also fitting that AC Milan and Man City will make a stop at Yankee Stadium with both clubs having ties to the Yankees.

The Bronx Bombers own a minority stake in AC Milan and they partnered with City Football Group – owners of Man City – in establishing MLS’ New York City Football Club, which plays part of its home schedule at Yankee Stadium.

English footballer Jude Bellingham waves in a white uniform during Real Madrid CF versus RB Leipzig match at Santiago Bernabeu stadium in Madrid.

Manchester City faced Chelsea in The Bronx in 2013, days after MLS announced NYCFC would join the league as its 20th franchise.

Real Madrid, already boasting a lineup led by midfielder Jude Bellingham, is expected to add superstar forward Kylian Mbappé in a marquee move this summer.

The August match will be Real Madrid’s third time playing at MetLife Stadium and FC Barcelona’s second time playing at the home of the Jets and Giants.

Barcelona last played in the area in 2022, when the Spanish giants faced the New York Red Bulls in a friendly at Red Bull Arena.

Pre-sale tickets for all matches will be available on March 25, and general tickets go on sale March 27 via the Soccer Champions Tour website .

The teams involved cannot all play each other as this is not practical for each club’s pre-season commitments. Manchester United and Arsenal, for example, will only play one game each as part of the Soccer Champions Tour, while the other teams will face more opposition.

Real and Barça look set to be the star players in the tournament, playing four games each, more than any other team.

How to watch the Soccer Champions Tour 2023

ESPN+ will be the home of the Soccer Champions Tour in the United States. As for Canada, DAZN is the place to be to see the pre-season tournament.

The final signature event on the 2024 PGA Tour schedule is on tap this week, with the 2024 Travelers Championship set to get underway on Thursday at TPC River Highlands. In addition to being a signature event, this will also be no cut tournament, meaning the entire 2024 Travelers Championship field will play through the weekend. Scottie Scheffler, who has five outright wins this year, is the 4-1 betting favorite in the 2024 Travelers Championship odds. Other top contenders in the field include Xander Schauffele (15-2), Ludvig Aberg (16-1), Collin Morikawa (16-1), Viktor Hovland (22-1), Patrick Cantlay (25-1), and Hideki Matsuyama (28-1). The total 2024 Travelers Championship purse is $20 million, with the winner's share listed as $3.6 million.

Should you back Scheffler this week even though he is coming off his worst performance of the season? Or would it make sense to target a longshot like Tommy Fleetwood, Jordan Spieth, or Wyndham Clark? Before locking in your 2024 Travelers Championship one and done picks,  you need to see what SportsLine DFS pro and PGA expert Mike McClure has to say .

The One and Done format is growing in popularity. It has several noticeable similarities to NFL Survivor pools, with the main difference being entries are not eliminated with a bad week. Players pick one golfer per week and earn points based on their selected golfer's prize money for that tournament. Golfers can only be used once per season, and the point format makes nailing majors, signature events, and big money tournaments critical.

McClure is a DFS legend with over $2 million in career winnings, and he's been red-hot on his PGA picks dating back to the PGA Tour restart in June of 2020. McClure uses his proprietary simulation model to analyze the field and crush his golf picks.

McClure has been on fire with his One and Done picks in 2024. At The American Express he backed Justin Thomas, who finished in third place and took home $635,600. At the Genesis Invitational, McClure tabbed Patrick Cantlay, who finished in fourth place at the signature event, as his top OAD pick. At the Cognizant Classic, McClure's top one and done pick, Min Woo Lee, finished in a tie for second place. Finally, at the Arnold Palmer Invitation, another signature event, McClure recommended using Scottie Scheffler and Will Zalatoris. The Result: Scheffler won the event by five strokes, and Zalatoris finished in fourth place.

His hot steak continued at the Players Championship, where McClure again recommended using Scheffler (if was still available) and Xander Schauffele. Both players were in contention until the end, with Scheffler coming out with the win and Schauffele finishing in second place. Then, at the Valspar Championship, McClure listed Cameron Young, who finished in second place, as his top OAD pick.

More recently, at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, McClure recommended using 50-1 longshot Alex Noren in One and Done pools. Noren would go on to be in contention until the end, before finishing in third place, two strokes off the lead! And at the PGA Championship, McClure targeted Viktor Hovland and Collin Morikawa, who finished in third and fourth places, respectively. He targeted Morikawa again at the Memorial Tournament, where Morikawa finished second.

Finally, at last week's U.S. Open, McClure's top two one and done picks were Bryson DeChambeau and Rory McIlroy. DeChambeau finished in first place and McIlroy in second.

Now, McClure has his sights on the 2024 Travelers Championship and just revealed his optimal One and Done picks. They are a must-see for any player looking for an edge in their One and Done pool. You can only see McClure's Travelers Championship 2024 one and done picks at SportsLine .

Top 2024 Travelers Championship One and Done picks

One of McClure's top one and done picks this week at TPC River Highlands is Collin Morikawa. The 27-year-old has been playing some of the best golf of his career as of late, with five top-10 finishes in his last eight starts. Morikawa is no stranger to finding success against elite fields and has two major championships on his career resume.

Morikawa is one of the best ball strikers in the world, and has the all around game that makes him a threat to win any tournament he enters. He is currently ranked sixth on the PGA Tour in total strokes gained (1.275), 11th in strokes gained (1.196), and 15th in strokes gained off-the-tee (0.539). McClure believes he will be in contention until the end at the Travelers Championship.  You can see who else to back at SportsLine .

How to make Travelers Championship 2024 One and Done picks

McClure is also targeting another golfer for his 2024 Travelers Championship one and done picks who has a long track record of success against elite competition. This multiple time PGA Tour winner has the ability to win any tournament he enters, and is one of the most talented golfers in this field. You can find out who it is, and check out all of McClure's Travelers Championship one and done picks at SportsLine .

Who wins the the Travelers Championship 2024, and which golfers should you target for your one and done picks this week at TPC River Highlands? "A big challenge awaits us before the start of the Olympics in the shape of EURO qualifying," said Herve Renard, coach of Les Bleues .

On 9 April, the French will travel to Sweden , Germany will welcome Iceland , and Spain will host Czechia . Of the three European teams qualified for Paris 2024, only Spain will be making their Olympic debut. Brazil, Canada, USA and Japan battle it out in SheBelieves Cup Brazil, Canada, USA and Japan battle it out in SheBelieves Cup

Four behemoths of the women’s game will contest the annual American invitational tournament, the SheBelieves Cup.

The semi-final draw pits Brazil against Canada and Japan against USA, who have won their home tournament six times and go into this edition buoyed by victory at the inaugural Concacaf W Gold Cup in March. Both fixtures take place in Atlanta on 6 April, three days before the third-place match and final are staged in Columbus.

"This is a group that's moving forward together, that still wants more time together," said USA interim coach Twila Kilgore after her side’s 1-0 win over Brazil in the Gold Cup final. "We've set new goals, we've set a new style of play, and I'm just so proud of them."

The Stars and Stripes will be looking to reclaim Olympic gold after their triumphs in 1996, 2004, 2008 and 2012. As for the Nadeshiko , their best result to date has been a silver medal (2012), just like the Seleção (2004 and 2008). Canada are the defending Olympic champions after their victory at Tokyo 2020.

New Zealand, Colombia and Australia face Olympic warm-ups New Zealand, Colombia and Australia face Olympic warm-ups

New Zealand continue their preparations for the Olympics – where they will contest Group A alongside France, Colombia and Canada – with two friendlies against Thailand, on 6 and 9 April. These will be the Football Ferns' first fixtures in Aotearoa New Zealand since the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023™.

"As we build towards the Paris 2024 Olympics, we want to establish a side that combines our experienced players with emerging younger talent to put us in the best place ahead of the next FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2027," said head coach Jitka Klimkova.

They will meet a Colombia side who are continuing their preparations for a third Olympic tournament by taking on Mexico on 6 April and Guatemala three days later. Linda Caicedo and Co recently followed up their quarter-final exploits at the Women's World Cup by reaching the same stage of the W Gold Cup, where they lost 3-0 to USA.

Australia, meanwhile, will gear up for a fifth Olympic participation by taking on Mexico on 9 April.

"Every game we schedule is considered and forms part of the team's preparation for the biggest tournaments in the world to enable us to compete against the best teams out there," coach Tony Gustavsson told the Australian FA's website.
