Holidays in Pefkohori in Halkidiki, Greece

Pefkohori in Greece , is located on the Kassandra Peninsula . Clean beaches, good infrastructure and the hospitality of the locals attract tourists from all over Europe. But the largest share of tourists to Halkidiki come from neighboring Serbia and Bulgaria, who, are “within a stone’s throw” to Pefkohori.

Pefkohori owes its current name to the surrounding pine forests. How to get to Pefkohori

Despite the significant annual tourist flow, there is no direct bus service between Thessaloniki Airport and any town in Halkidiki . Almost everyone takes a taxi. Most of tourists planning to spend their holidays in Pefkohori arrive in Greece through Macedonia Airport, not far from Thessaloniki .

The first option to get to Pefkohori is by bus. You can also rent a car right at the terminal, but that can be much more expensive as compared to getting a taxi online.

When ordering a taxi online, the driver meets passengers at the exit from the baggage claim area. Don’t worry about flight delays, the taxi service tracks all arrivals and sends the car right on time. You won’t have to pay extra for downtime.

You can of course get the cost of the trip in advance. This option is free and available even before the ordering stage.

Finally, the third option to get to Pefkohori is to rent a car at Thessaloniki Airport.

Pefkohori Beach – a blue flag beach

The coast in the Pefkochori area is one of the most well-groomed in Halkidiki, which is confirmed by the European Blue Flag, which the beach receives for the cleanliness of the water  and the level of infrastructure development.

The main beach in Pefkohori is covered with sand mixed with pebbles. Its width is an average of 10 meters.

A little to the left of the pier is the area of ​​hotels and apartments. There are few tourists here, so there are always free sunbeds with umbrellas. You can also sit right on the sand.

If you go to the right of the Pefkohori pier, you will get to the city beach. There are always a lot of people, especially on weekends. In August, local residents are also added to visiting tourists, so we can say that “the apple has nowhere to fall”.

Despite such a density of people, the water is always clean, and there is no garbage on the beach.

When you go further right of the city beach, you again find yourself surrounded by villas and apartments. There are fewer people on the beach, and the coastal zone itself consists entirely of sand. Entry in the water is gentle and comfortable.

Entrance to the city beach of Pefkohori is free, but you must pay for the use of sunbeds and umbrellas. However, the cost of renting here is lower than in the popular resorts of Southern Greece such as Santorini , Mykonos , Rhodos , Crete , etc.

If you rent a car, then from Pefkohori you can go to slightly remote beaches with the necessary infrastructure, but much fewer people.

Things to do in and around Pefkohori

There are no significant sights in Pefkohori itself. Except perhaps the old church of the 19th century and the ruins of a mill built over 500 years ago. However, you can walk around the Old Town with its narrow winding streets, visit the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, explore the ruins of a Roman settlement and explore several small churches.

At the same time, the day trips from Pefkohori are very rich and varied. You can go to the northern capital of Greece – Thessaloniki , visit the incredible Meteora monasteries soaring in the clouds, or to Olympus, the mountain on which, according to myths, the Gods of the Ancient Greek Pantheon lived.

Best Beaches near Pefkohori

1. glarokavos port and beach.

The salt lake port of Glarokavos, situated about 4.5 kms from Pefkohori, is a natural pool with clear water and beautiful scenery. The lake is not intended for swimming, rather local fishermen park their boats here. But Glarokavos is worth a visit because of the views that open up at the point where the sea meets the lake.

This is the most popular photo spot in Pefkohori. Couples stroll every now and then, waiting for a picturesque sunset to take pictures in the rays of the setting sun.

Glarokavos also has is a spacious beach surrounded by trees. On this wide coastline covered with pebbles and sand, there is a convenient entrance to the water. But the depth grows rapidly. The beach will appeal to lovers of a relaxing holiday. Even at the peak of the season, there are few vacationers here.

There are no shops near Glarokavos beach. But there are small beach bars where you can buy drinks and snacks, and use a sun lounger for free. Some beach bars have showers, changing rooms, free Wi-Fi, areas for relaxation and beach games.

Nearby is the beach bar called Umbrellas – a very popular party place where parties are held and sometimes guest DJs perform.

On the beach there is Crazyland Water Park with inflatable water slides , which is good fun for children.

2. Hanioti beach ( Chanioti )

Just 3.5 kms away from Pefkohori lies the village of Chanioti visited by lots of holidaymakers. The water here is quite clean and warm and the beach is quite similar to the one in Pefkohori. However, there are plenty of water sports to be done at Hanioti beach.

There are a lot of cafes and bars offering delicious food, drinks , sun loungers and umbrellas. The latter can be rented or simply buy something to eat so that you get to use them for free.

Traders walk along the beach and sell corn, interesting dishes, shrimp. Due to the fact that the coast is long, not all areas have locker rooms and toilets near.

In some parts of the beach you rent diving equipment, jet skis, and indulge in water activities. And in the evening in the bars on the beaches you can watch performances and party in discos .

3. Paliouri Beach – the family beach

The Paliouri Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Halkidiki , and is particularly popular with families. The beach is located in the south of the Kassandra peninsula and has fine, soft sand and comparatively shallow water – perfect for a family holiday in Greece.

The  Paliouri Beach extends over a length of 1 km, where you will always find small beach bars and beach clubs where you can be catered for. Due to the shallowness of the coast, the water seems completely transparent and the entire beach looks very spacious and accessible, which is why it is very popular with tourists.

This beach is about 6kms away from Pefkohori. There are toilets, lifeguards and you can park on the road beside the beach.

When lying on the beach gets somewhat dull, you can think about taking scuba diving lessons at one of the diving centers here. Experienced instructors will teach the basics of scuba even to absolute beginners.

Boat Cruises from Pefkohori

There are several companies offering sea cruises from Pefkohori to Thessaloniki , Vourvourou , etc. In between you may also stop at a secluded beach for swimming in the clearest waters. Depending on the tour, you may have snorkeling, kayaking and other activities involved.

Visit Thermal Spa Agia Paraskevi in Loutra

The thermal resort of Agia Paraskevi is located about 9 kms from Pefkohori . This is a modern wellness complex where you can spend the whole day swimming in the outdoor pool overlooking the bay, visiting the hammam or getting a massage. 

Nowadays, many people do not associate holidays in Greece with hydrotherapy, like Budapest or Karlovy Vary .  But in vain.  There are enough places in Greece where you can enjoy bathing in healing mineral waters.

The Agia Paraskevi complex was renovated not so long ago and now it is a Spa center of a high standard. On the outdoor terrace there are sun loungers where you can relax between swims. The view from the terrace is amazing with the rocks, the sea and the endless sky.

There is a bar where you can order drinks, snacks and ice cream.

Shopping in Pefkohori

Fish shops in the village present a huge assortment of all types of fish, as well as mussels and squids, shrimps and octopuses. Right in the market they can clean and wash it for you, and also boil the shrimp.

Tourist shops are on the main streets, and although they include a huge range of goods, they are quite expensive. You can buy all the products much cheaper in supermarkets and the inconspicuous streets in the village. In the shopping centers you can buy souvenirs as a gift, goods for recreation and local products.

Restaurants, beach bars, taverns, coffee houses are located on the street along the beach. There are more than 20 of them, so tourists have a very large choice. There are also bars that organize all kinds of entertainment events and discos.

You should definitely try yoghurts, cheeses, as well as sesame sticks, Turkish delight, tahini halva, figs, grapes, ciabatta bread and, of course, seafood.

Pefkohori Hotels by the Beach

You can find a lot of accommodation options in Pefkohori at a variety of prices. There are hotels from 1 to 3 stars, 4 and 5 stars are less common.

The most popular option is the 3 star hotels. They provide parking lots, playgrounds, swimming pools, their own garden, free wifi and some have a kitchen for cooking on your own.

Almost all Pefkohori apartments face the beach on the right side of the pier. Even a 3-star hotel is quite good because the level of service here is high.

Choose hotels that have recently been renovated. If your package tour does not include meals, it will be cheaper to rent a room in an apartment with a kitchen to cook on your own, because eating in cafes in Greece can get expensive for the budget conscious.

Best time to visit Pefkohori

The climate in Pefkohori is Mediterranean. Summers are quite hot, with a temperature of 32°C to 35°C. In winter it is usually humid and warm.

The beach season in the resorts of Halkidiki begins in early May and ends in late September. The sea warms up to 25 degrees. In recent years, the autumn weather in Pefkohori has high temperatures. This allows you to extend the holiday season and enjoy the warm sea, even at the end of October.

The most favorable months for families with children in Pefkohori are June and September.

PEFKOHORI – OSNOVNI PODACI

Pefkohori  je  grčko  turističko naselje na poluostrvu Kasandra, koje još nazivaju i “prvi prst” Halkidikija. Smešteno je na oko 100 km od najvećeg grada severne  Grčke , Soluna, a naselje je osnovano početkom 19. veka kao ribarsko selo od strane izbeglica iz Turske.

Danas, osim potomaka Grka iz Male Azije, stalno stanovništvo predstavljaju još i Cincari, koji su prepoznatljivi po svetloj boji kose, ali i izbeglice iz Albanije. Ovo mesto nekada nazivaju i Kapsochora (što u prevodu znači “spaljena Zemlja”), mesto je u prošlosti nekoliko puta spaljeno od strane pirata, te od tuda i ovaj naziv.

U Pefkohoriju ćete biti u mogućnosti da imate vrlo prijatan  odmor , jer nudi sve što bi turistima bilo potrebno i što jedno  letovalište  treba da ima.  Pefkohori  ima veliki broj manjih i većih dobro snabdevenih prodavnica, a dok se šetate pored obale, na domak mora naći ćete veliki broj restorana, kafića, barova i raznolikih većih i manjih prodavnica.

Ima jedna karakteristika koju ima  Pefkohori , a druga  letovališta  u okolini nemaju to je jedna izuzetno duga ulica koja se proteže skroz dužinom obale  mora , sa jedne strane je  more  sa predivnim peščanim  plažama  i mnogobrojne prodavnice i ugostiteljske objekte na drugoj.

Ova specifična “kičma” vam omogućava da se istovremeno kupate, šetate, popijete kafu ili jedete u jednoj od mnoštva taverni, ali možete i naći prodavnicu suvenira te kupiti neku uspomenu na boravak u ovom mestu.

Pefkohori  ima takvu turističku ponudu u kojoj nije izostavljeno ništa što bi vam moglo ulepšati  letovanje . Tu je veliki izbor odličnih hotela i vila sa apartmanskim smeštajem, nekoliko bogato snabdevenih supermarketa, nekoliko agencija za rent-a-car, priličan broj manjih prodavnica, nekoliko pekara, pošta, ambulanta i apoteka.

PEFKOHORI – INFORMACIJE O MESTU

Ukrasi Pefkohorija su uzane uličice, stari trg, prelepa stara srkva, duga peščana  plaža  i atraktivno i zanimljivo šetalište pored  mora . Duž šetališta nalaze se brojne  grčke  taverne, riblji restorani, kafići i barovi.

Kada su u pitanju smeštajni kapaciteti, u pitanju je veliki broj odličnih hotela i vila. Ovo mesto ima, da tako kažemo, po nešto za svakoga, za svačiji ukus i svačiji džep.

Pefkohori  ima osnovnu školu, kao i crkva koja je posvećena svetom Nikoli, a nalazi se u središnjem delu mesta. U neposrednoj blizini mesta smeštena je interesantna marina Glaros, koja ima pravilan geometrijski oblik. Pri lepom vremenu sa obale se vidi Sveta gora – Atos.

Ovo mesto raspolaže mnogobrojnim svestranim ponudama za turiste spomenućemo i Galisov kamp, to je sportska kolonija sa mnogobrojnim terenima, a od Pefkohorija je udaljena oko 2 km. Osnivač ove kolonije je čuveni košarkaški as i kapiten reprezentacije  Grčke  Nikos Galis.

Sam  Pefkohori  je relativno malo mesto, ali sa puno dobrih ljudi. Meštani su zaista ljubazni i srdačni domaćini, a poznato je da je to većinom karakteristično za celu  Grčku . Dosta veliki broj prodavnica je smešteno pored magistrale, dok su kafići smešteni većinom uz  plažu .

Na delu terena izmedju  plaže  i magistrale pruža se nekoliko poprečnih ulica sa nekoliko manjih prodavnica. Iznad glavne ulice u okolini crkve smešten je najlepši deo koji zovu stari grad ovo je idealno mesto da pobegnete od gužve i uživate u mirnoj i opuštenoj večernjoj šetnji.

Ako vam je internet i na odmoru nužan, te da bez njega ne možete zamisliti dan, otkrijmo da ovo mesto ima dva internet kafea. Nikako nemojte računati na to da neće biti gužve, jer u večernjim satima tu se okuplja jako veliki broj dece pa ćete se za dolazak na red dobro načekati, stoga pripremite jaku volju i debele živce, ili što vam je mnogo jednostavnije i lakše idite tamo ranije u toku dana.

PEFKOHORI – NEKE KORISNE INFORMACIJE

Pefkohori  je jedno od najpopularnijih  grčkih  letovališta kod turista iz Srbije. Nalazi se na poluostrvu Halkidiki sa unutrašnje strane poluostrva Kasandra udaljenost od Soluna i solunskog aerodroma iznosi oko 100 kilometara.

More  je predivno, upadljivo plave boje i besprekorno čisto. kilometarski duge  plaže  su predivne, peskovite i spajaju  Pefkohori  sa Haniotijem. Ako niste ljubitelji stena i kamenja koji se nalaze pod vodom, onda izbegavajte  plaže  koje su smeštene na onoj strani od mola ka Paluriju, a zaputite se prema Haniotiju i  plažama  koje se nalaze na toj strani.

Čuvene  plaže  Xenia i Golden Beach su nedaleko od Pefkohorija, trebalo bi da razmislite o poseti ovim mestima. Na svim  plažama  u Pefkohoriju cena iznajmljivanja suncobrana, dve ležaljke i stočića iznosi oko 3-5 eura. Ipak ima i plaža gde za poručeno piće dobijate besplatno korišćenje suncobrana i ležaljki.

Svi bolji kafići i restorani u Pefkohoriju su u glavnoj ulici a ona se prostire uz samu  plažu . Ima tu i raznovrsnih radnjica, što je uobičajena pojava u svakom karakterističnom turističkom mestu, ponuda je raznolika: peškiri, kupaći kostimi, odeća, obuća, bižuterija, nakit i drugo.

Cene u ovim prodavnicama stvarno nisu visoke, pa je mnogo toga što se nalazi u ponudi jeftinije nego kod nas.

Veliki broj stanovnika Pefkohorija razume srpski jezik, a mladji u najvećem broju slučajeva govore engleski jezik. Što se tiče menija na  plažama , u tavernama i restoranima je napisana na srpskom, ruskom i engleskom, pa se nećete nikada suočiti sa problemom kada budete naručivali bilo šta sa menija najvećeg dela restorana i kafića.

PEFKOHORI – SAVETI I PREPORUKE

U Pefkohoriju, more je tirkizno plave boje, toplo je i upadljivo čisto, u toj meri da se providi čak do dna.  Plaže  su prekrivene peskom, na početnoj strani su uzane i tu se okupljaju većinom stariji turisti i deca sa roditeljima.

Plaža  sa imenom Fiki se preporučuje za turiste mladjeg uzrasta, koja se nalazi malo posle svetionika. Fiki  plaža  je jako lepa, velika, sa ležaljkama i suncobranima. Na plaži možete da naručite piće, na raspolaganju su vam tuševi, a takodje i restorani u kojima možete jesti.

U toku zvanične  letnje   sezone  hit mesta za izlaske su Lopside, Sushi, Cucurredo, Bombo i Madness. Čim izadjete iz Pefkohorija u pravcu Soluna, naići ćete na Ahoy i Nono. U najvećem broju ovih mesta emituje se uglavnom strana komercijalna muzika, a u Bombu posle 12 kreće srpska folk muzika, ponekad se dešava da program ide uživo.

U slučaju da imate želju da obidjete neko od susednih mesta, postoji rent-a-car agencija, a cene po danu su od 30 eura pa naviše.

Ako je hrana u pitanju, prodavnica ima u priličnom broju, dok u samom centru Pefkohorija postoji i jedna prodavnica koja radi bez prekida od 0 do 24 sata. U slučaju da vam ovo nešto znači, cigarete su u  Grčkoj  duplo skuplje nego u Srbiji, pa neka pušači ponesu od kuće dovoljne količine za sebe.

Hrana u marketima uglavnom ima iste cene kao i u Srbiji, a isto važi i za kozmetiku. Po pitanju malo pre navedenog, slobodno možete ovamo krenuti bez prtljaga, a to se odnosi i na eventualne potrepštine za  plažu . Postoji stvarno veliki broj malih prodavnica koje prodaju papuče, peškire, kupaće kostime, majice i slično po vrlo povoljnim cenama.

Ako su u pitanju lekovi, u Pefkohoriju postoji apoteka, uprkos tome ipak je preporučljivo poneti po neki antibiotik, nešto protiv povišene temperature, protiv alergija, protiv trovanja hranom i slično.

PEFKOHORI – TURISTIČKA PONUDA

Pefkohori  je malo  letovalište  smešteno je na jugoistočnoj strani tzv. “prvog prsta”, poluostrva Kasandra izmedju Haniotija, severno i Paliouria južno. Udaljenost od Soluna i solunskog aerodroma do Pefkohorija je oko 100 km autobusu na redovnoj liniji je potrebno oko 1,5 do 2 sata da predje ovu udaljenost.

Mesto je više nego ljupko, ima lepa i zanimljiva mesta za izlaske i provod, a svakako je i kao stvoreno za ležeran  odmor  u krugu porodice.

Pefkohori  smatraju za jedno od najomiljenijih  letovališta  na Halkidikiju i mesto koje svojom izuzetnom ponudom može da zadovolji ukus i potrebe i najizbirljivijih turista. Dugačko šetalište koje se proteže uzduž  plaže , u večernjim satima postaje centar svih zbivanja u Pefkohoriju, gde su smešteni najbolji kafići, i svake večeri ovde sve vrvi od života i veoma je interesantno.

Pefkohori  je  letovalište  koje ima besprekorno čistu vodu, što je i inače karakteristično za  more  uzduž čitave obale poluostrva Halkidiki. Već poslovična ljubaznost i gostoljubivost domaćina, grka, mnoštvo kafića i barova, široka peščana  plaža  i veličanstveni apartmani. Neki su od razloga zašto je turistima iz Srbije već godinama je  Pefkohori  najomiljenija destinacija za  letovanje .

Sportovi na vodi su jako zastupljeni u turističkoj ponudi koju daje  Pefkohori , a tu je i mogućnost za uzimanje u najam ležaljki i suncobrana za  plažu . Sportsko naselje “Galisov kamp” je od mesta udaljeno samo 2 km, čiji osnivač je bivši kapiten  Grčke  košarkaške reprezentacije – Nikos Galis. Malo dalje nalazi se marina Glaros, a za lepog vremena iz Pefkohorija se vidi Sveta Gora i njen najviši vrh Atos.

if you feel the heady aroma of pine needles and the noise of the Aegean sea, if there are many bright southern colors and friendly people around you, then you may be sure — you are in Pefkohori.

From Greek this name is translated as "pine village"(πεύκα — "pine" and χωριό — "village").

In ancient times the village was known under the name of Capshare. It was a part of the 12 villages of the Halkidiki peninsula, which during the Ottoman Empire belonged to the leader of the white eunuchs Gazanfer Aga. Since the Balkan countries are very close, Serbian and Bulgarian speech can be often heard here.

The village is 100 km from Macedonia airport. You can get to the spot by bus from there. To do this, take route 78A and reach KTEL Halkidikis. Then you have to transfer to the regular bus. Travel time is 1.5–2 hours and th eprice is approximately 15 euro. Please note that there are 3 stops in Pefkohori, check beforehand which one is closer to your accommodation. If you are traveling with a large family, to save time, it is better to book a transfer in advance. The driver will meet you at the exit of the arrivals area, help you with your luggage and take you to the required point

How to move?

Pefkohori is quite a large village. It takes about 30 minutes to walk from one end to the other. You can also walk to the main square, which is just above the main road. You don't need a car to get around inside Pefkohori, and it is difficult to park one in high season.

You will need a rental car if you are going to visit the famous beaches of Kassandra , go to Loutra spa center or walk in other villages. The bus service is not well developed and cabs are unprofitable for long trips.

What to see?

Pefkohori is not a place for fans of olden time to go. There are no archaeological excavations, unique monuments of paleological culture or other antiquities. There are only a couple of small old churches.

However, you should not be upset. There is a monastery of John the Russian , which is located 4 km from the village — a quiet, peaceful place where several monks live (there is a Russian-speaking one among them!), who will gladly tell you a couple of interesting stories about this place. The monastery keeps the relics of the Saint, who was an ordinary soldier during his life and who was captured by the Turks. They tortured him for a long time, but they could not make him abjure a religion. By the end of his life, he even won authority among them and performed miracles. 

It is important: the monastery is located on a mountain, so the path will be very difficult if you travel without a car. You can learn a few phrases in Greek so you will be able to ask the way from locals.

We also recommend you to go to the small village of Loutra Agia Paraskevi, which is located between Pefkohori and Loutra. The way takes about 15 minutes by car. There is a modern spa center Thermal Spa Agia Paraskevi. You should definitely swim in the outdoor hydrogen sulfide swimming-pool with the views of pine-covered rocky cliffs and the turquoise expanse of the sea. The staff is very friendly and customer-focused. After swimming, relax on the sun loungers with a cup of coffee, or in comfortable chairs with a cocktail. There are also additional services: sauna, massage.

We recommend you to finish the bath procedures in the Archontiko tavern, where the locals like to have supper. The restaurant specializes in meat dishes. Here they are served on large wooden trays with a side dish of fried potatoes and vegetables. You definitely will not be able to resist spiced ribs, a huge meaty steak with blood or wings with mustard sauce. 

What to do?

The vacation in Pefkohori is measured and calm and focused mainly on swimming and sunbathing. Though you can't call the village boring. There is a very developed infrastructure, a large number of taverns, eateries, bars and supermarkets. There are post offices, pharmacies, ATMs and gas stations - everything you could need. In summer Pefohori fills up with tourists and there is hardly room to spare on the central beach .

Active rest

The main attraction of the village is the sea. Most of the time it is quiet and serene. That is why we strongly recommend you such type of holiday as a one-day cruise. There are several companies in the village that offer such services. They are on the pier and sell tickets there.

Just imagine: early in the morning, you put fresh pastries from the nearest bakery, sandwiches, fruit, cheese and homemade wine into a picnic basket, take your friends or soulmate with you and meet the day in the open sea. Then you go to a secret picturesque place with crystal clear water, relax on the beautiful beach, and for lunch you stop at Neos Marmaras for a fish tavern. The whole trip takes up to 8 hours. 

You can also visit one of numerous beaches and ride a banana, rent a boat or a catamaran. We recommend you the following beaches:

• The Blue Carpet is located on the territory of the same-name hotel but everyone can visit it — it is enough to make a reservation in advance. The minimum order value at the bar is from 15€ per person. However, it is worth it — the Blue Carpet boasts comfortable sun beds and a high level of service.
• Tridente Mare beach bar is another hotel beach. It is located exactly on the other side of the village. Equipped with the same sunbeds with thick mattresses, boasts a chic Instagram palm alley and excellent service.
• Agistri bar is located in front of the entrance to the village. Cozy sun loungers, attentive waiters and an extensive cocktail list will create a wonderful mood for the whole day. If you're looking for silence and unobtrusive lounge music, this is the place.

Beaches nearby

While vacationing in Pefkohori, you should definitely visit the most popular beaches of Kassandra, which are within 10 km of the village:

• Xenia . A beautiful sandy beach about 3 km long with many bars. The place is partying and is the center of attraction for young people. The coast is covered with fine white sand and surrounded by a pine forest. Those who like to sit on their own with their umbrella will also find a place. 

• Glarokavos . A secret beach which not everybody knows about! Just exit the main road in front of Xenios port Marina and you will reach the beautiful natural marina lake. Go to the part where it is connected to the sea. The views are the most beautiful there. You can take a lot of vivid photos and spend the day at the beach bar by the strait. Since the coastline is wide and you can only get here by car, even in August you will find a place here and you can have a little break from the hustle and bustle of the village.

In the village you will find many small shops where you can buy token gifts for your friends and family. We recommend you to visit the Aroma of Greece shop, which offers a good range of olive oil and honey from local apiaries, and Memories with its extensive range of 40 kinds of spices, cosmetics based on olive oil and elements of home decorations.

Do you want to buy some clothes? There are a lot of shops around with a wide assortment. The Kohili boutique is popular. Here you can find quality beautiful swimwear and summer clothes of Greek designers.

Rest with children

You will not have to think about things to do with the children in Pefkohori. There are many playgrounds with children's slot-machines in the village. There is a seasonal amusement ground Dinos Luna Park, which opens every evening and works until late. It has a lot of entertainment for the youngest kids — a carousel and a swing, and for school children — different machines, trampolines and a small ferris wheel.

Behind the village there is another amusement park called Crazyland. Now it is the largest water amusement park in all of Greece. Many inflatable rides give full freedom to act. Each visitor is necessarily provided with a bright life jacket.

Leisure for adults

At night this place is atmospheric, cozy and very romantic. We advise you to enjoy a glass of mojito on a sun lounger in the Veranda bar. It is hidden in the lanes near the center, so there will be few visitors in it. 

If you wish loud music, then go to Menta. The bar is located on the waterfront, in the evenings it is noisy and fun here but you will not manage to dance much.

If you want to break into a lively dance, visit the Umbrellas. There the bright pool parties are held after the sunset. It is especially popular among the Greeks. The bar is located outside the village, so it is better to go there by car.

Where to stay?

If you are here at the peak of the season, it may seem that Pefkohori is populated only by foreigners, who are happily chattering foreign languages in numerous beach bars, cafes and restaurants. The enterprising locals endeavored excellently: the village has a lot of accommodation of different set and cost. You can live in splendour and comfort on the first line or watch beautiful sunsets from your room in the heart of the village, which is located on a small hill. In any of these situations, a great pastime is provided.

The local people actively rent their apartments during the high season, but you will have to spend time and nerves in order to find a suitable option. There are much more lovers to save than possible options.

The village has a large number of accommodation options - from small cottages to luxurious two-story mansions with a swimming pool. To find the best option, it is better to book in advance. In Pefkohori there is the biggest selection of villas for rent of all Kassandra villages. The bigger and more interesting villas are situated at the edge of Pefkohori, as well as at the end of the peninsula. This does not exclude walking distance from Pefkohori: there is a small road which runs parallel to the sea and you can easily reach the settlement. The advantage of such a location will be the lack of hustle and the freer beaches.

An alternative option is to choose a villa in Paliouri/Kanistro, for example, gorgeous Agnanti villa on the first line. It provides four bedrooms, accommodating up to eight guests, along with three bathrooms, a shared swimming pool, a fully equipped kitchen, a crib, and a high chair. There are many high level complexes. You will spend your vacation in true privacy, and if you want, you can drive to Pefkohori. It takes no more than 10 minutes.

Blue Carpet Suites is a luxury three-storeyed aparthotel located on the first line at the very beginning of the village. The red ribbon was cut in 2018 — it means that everything here is absolutely new, from pipes in the bathroom to chairs on large terraces. Most of the rooms have a fantastic sea view. For those who prefer privacy, there are special rooms with separate mini-pools. The area around is arranged, the trimmed lawns and soft armchairs are everywhere. One of the hallmarks of the hotel is a stylish swimming pool with sun loungers in the water. There is also a gourmet restaurant Kanela, which can be accessed without being a hotel client. This hotel is worth taking note for those who plan a wedding in Greece.

Tridente Mare is a boutique hotel with its own pool, beach, bar and a couple of good restaurants with the a la cart system.

Rigakis is a good variant for those who want to live on the first line by the sea and at the same time save a little money without losing comfort. The rooms are quite spacious and a buffet breakfast is included into the price. The hotel has its own sandy beach with sun loungers and a bar. The only drawback is a large number of stones in the water near the beach. The sea urchins like to settle on them — they do two jobs, acupuncturing hotel guests. The issue is resolved by buying a pair of special slippers.

What to taste?

If for a Frenchman the ideal breakfast is a fresh croissant and a cup of espresso with an orange fresh, then for a Greek it is bugatsa and frappe. In the village there is enough options to treat a modest and immodest sweet tooth — there are both popular chain stores of Lemonkis and Artohora and small family establishments like Bugatsa Kostas and Panagiotidis Bakery.

We also advise you to try the traditional Greek doughnuts loukoumades in Loukoumades tis Giagias Pefkohori Halkidiki.

If you can not imagine a perfect holiday without a fragrant slice of pizza of thin dough with stringy parmesan, we recommend you to go to Pomodoro. A large range of pizza, Caprese salad, into which mozzarella is added not spared, pasta with seafood and traditional lasagna will make even a true Italian exclaim “Bravissimo”!

Do you like grilled chicken? On the main road, To Kotetsi offers crispy wings, juicy baked chicken with lemon sauce and more.

Bakalis is considered to be one of the most popular taverns on the coast. A huge plate of delicate mussels and homemade white wine with subtle hint of flowers and spices — what could be better? In the evenings, when there are no sunbathers, the tables are placed right on the beach, and you can sit at the water's edge. The tavern is open all year round. After the end of the season, when there is no more inflow of visitors in the tavern, you can always find free tables and taste fresh cooked seafood without haste.

Vlachos is one of the most popular places for evening rendezvous with both locals and vacationers. The high level of service, the quality of food and the correct serving make guests come back here again and again. You can order a fish plate, baked octopus with vegetables, chicken kebab or mussels in order to enjoy delicious food, wine, a diverse audience speaking different languages and a beautiful sea sunset.

Tsaparis is an institution of a rather unusual type for Europe. If usually the concept of the establishment is based on a unique design, unique service, original dishes, then in this place all the attention is focused on ouzo (traditional Greek vodka based on anise). The menu consists exclusively of those dishes that will properly fetch out the peculiar taste of this alcoholic beverage. So, according to the locals, it is better to take feta fried on all sides with sesame seeds, shrimp in garlic sauce, lobsters and signature salad to the anisette. The owner of the establishment carefully controls the level of service. The attentive attitude to guests bears great fruit: at any time in the evening it is very crowded here. Therefore, we recommend booking a table in advance.

Note: this type of institution, where the traditional Greek vodka is a queen of the menu, is called ouzeri.

If even during the vacation you like to practice the skill of cooking, then here you can improve your skills by adding simple but very tasty recipes of traditional Greek dishes to your thriftbox of knowledge. And to buy products for them we go to Masoutis or Discount. Do you want the freshest farm fruits and vegetables? Every Tuesday there is a market in Kassandra, where local producers come together.

Useful info

• The high season begins in July. If you are an introvert and do not want to fight for a sun lounger, it is better to wait until the end of August. An even better solution would be to rent a villa in the quiet Kanistro area nearby, and go to Pefkohori when you want to be active.
• Be sure to try the honey of the Pefkohori beekeepers! It has a very rich taste and aroma with a hint of fresh pine needles.
• June and September are the best months for a relaxing family holiday.

• GRADSKA PLAŽA  u Pefkohoriu bi bila najlakši i logičan izbor jer se nalazi u samom mestu, radi se o dosta dugačkoj peščanoj plaži koja poranja u kristalno čisto more, promena dubine je postepena što je čini idealnim kupalištem za decu. Opremljena je većim brojem suncobrana i ležaljki a uz samu plažu prostire se divno šetalište koje vrvi od ljudi u večernjim časovima, takođe veći broj restorana, plažnih barova i taverni dostupni su na ovoj plaži kao i prodavnica…tako da na ovoj plaži možete bez prekidanja provesti ceo dan a da vam ništa ne zafali.
• PLAŽA KSENIJA  je možda i najpoznatija plaža ove regije, do nje se lako stiže kolima i ona je smeštena na krajnjem jugo-istoku prvog prsta Halkidikija na kom se nalazi i Pefkohori. U blizini plaže nalazi se dovoljno velik i prostran parking, na njoj se nalazi zavidan broj suncobrana i ležaljki čije se korišćenje plaća ili dolaze uz konzumaciju piće. Takođe kabine za presvlačenje, plažni tuševi i javni toaleti dostupni su na Kseniji. Velik broj restorana, barova i taverni pružaju dodatni komfor pri boravku. Sama plaža je pusuta peskom, sa dugačkim pojasom plićaka i kristalno čistom vodom, što je čini idealnom za sve a pogotovo za decu i neplivače.
• GOLDEN BEACH  preporučujemo onim ljudima koji ne vole gužve, buku i taj dan žele da provedu u miru i tišini sa svojom porodicom, prijateljima, partnerom ili sa svojim mislima a da ne budu ometani u odmoru. Do nje se dolazi kolima (sopstvenim ili iznajmljenim)  i treba da znate da na ovoj plaži ima jako malo ležaljki i suncobrana, nema plažnih barova prodavnica, nema toaleta i tuširanja…dakle jedna prava nekomercijalizovana plaža data od prirode nama na korišćenje i uživanje, tako da obaveno ponestite sve što vam je potrebno sa vama ako je obilazite.  U pozadini blaže nalazi se borova šuma a sama plaža je prekrivena finim peskom, dok je ulazak uvodu dugačak plićak, more je izuzetno mirno i čisto i pošto se plaža nalazi u zavetrini vetra i talasa gotovo da nikada nema.
• GLAROKAVOS PLAŽA   nalazi se u nastavku Pefkohorija van naseljenog mesta, nekih 2,5 kilometara od centra na ulazu u Glarokavos zaliv. Obgrljena borovom šumom koja pruža prirodan hlad, ova peščana plaža sa mali kamenčićima, postemeno ulazi u čisto more. Dosta kampera boravi u blizini ove plaže, takođe istoimeni plažni bar se ovde nalazi i uz konzumaciju pića možete koristiti njihove ležaljke  ili ih premestiti u borovu šumu ukoliko vam sunce bude prejako. Veliki broj ronioca posećuje ovu plažu zbog bogatog podvodnog sveta u kojemmožete uživati ako se dovoljno udaljite od obale.
• MOLOS BEACH  smeštena je na kilometar od poznatog letovališta Hanioti ka Pefkohoriju, na njoj se nalazi poznati plažni bar istog imena koji je uređen po uzoru na Karibe sa prepoznatljivim ukrasima i  udobnim baštenskim nameštajem. Preporučuje se mladima, jer u ovom baru se organizuju dnevne house žurke kao i večernje „chill out“ zabave a ponuda alkoholnih pića pažljivo je formirana te ovde možete probati neke od vrhunskih koktela. Plaža je pretežno peščana sa udobnim sitnim šljunkom a voda je videćete posebna nijansa plave boje koja je izrazito čista i prozirna.
