Here Is Lionel Richie’s ‘Sing A Song All Night Long Tour’ Setlist

Last year, Lionel Richie was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame and received the Icon Award at the American Music Awards. His legacy persists in 2023; in May, he performed at King Charles’ Coronation alongside Katy Perry, Take That, and Andrea Bocelli.

He’s taking his songs to stages all over North America on the Sing A Song All Night Long Tour with Earth, Wind & Fire. It kicked off earlier this month, and the setlist is packed with his hits, including ones by his old band Commodores as well as covers.

Lionel Richie has officially kicked off his summer 2023 co-headlining tour with Earth, Wind & Fire !

The Sing A Song All Night Long tour launched on Friday (August 4) at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, MN.

Earth, Wind & Fire began the night and performed such hits as “Shining Star,” “Boogie Wonderland,” “Let’s Groove,” and “September.”

Lionel then played all of his hits, including a bunch of songs from his days with The Commodores.

The tour will continue through September 15 when it plays a final show at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.

Lionel Richie will be heading out on a North American tour this summer, and he’s teaming up with Earth, Wind & Fire for the trek. Tickets for the “Sing a Song All Night Long” tour will be available for general sale beginning March 13 at 10 a.m. local time.

The 20-date tour hits arenas throughout the U.S. and Canada, including stops in Chicago, Toronto, New York, Washington D.C., Atlanta, and Austin. It starts on August 4 at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota, and runs through Sept. 15, when it wraps at Kia Forum in Los Angeles.

Lionel Richie Announces Co-Headlining Summer 2023 Tour with Earth, Wind & Fire — See the Dates!

The R&B and funk legends are teaming up for the Sing a Song All Night Long Tour — 20 dates across North America throughout August and September

Get ready to party "All Night Long" with Lionel Richie and Earth, Wind & Fire this summer!

On Monday, the R&B and funk legends announced they'll be teaming up for a string of 20 concerts, billed as the Sing a Song All Night Long Tour, across North America.

"Well, my friends, the time has come to announce a tour — not just any tour, but the tour I've been trying to do for years, and now it's going to actually happen," said Richie, 73, in a video shared to social media alongside the tour announcement. "This is the place you need to be."

Kicking off Aug. 4 in St. Paul, Minnesota, the tour will see the superstars perform in cities including Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Seattle and more before wrapping on Sept. 15 in Los Angeles.

Tickets go on presale for Citi cardmembers from March 7 at 10 a.m. local time through March 12 at 10 p.m. local time before a general sale begins on March 13 at 10 a.m. local time. VIP packages are also available, with more information regarding all tickets available at Richie's website .

The tour will follow the American Idol judge's string of concerts in Europe throughout June and July, as well as Earth, Wind & Fire's previously announced U.S. concerts in June and July.

Take I-90 East to the Madison Street exit and make a right onto Madison Street. The building will be on your left.

Take I-55 North to the Damen exit and make a left, going northbound for approximately 7 minutes. The building will be on your right.

Take Madison Street west from the Loop.

Take I-290 East to exit 28A (Damen Avenue). Take Damen Avenue north to Madison Street. Make a right onto Madison Street and the building will be on your right.

Public Transportation

Take the Orange, Green, Purple, or Brown lines to Madison. Take #20 Madison buses west.

To the United Center : The #19 United Center Express Bus runs on game days. Service begins 90 minutes prior to game time, runs every 10 minutes until 30 minutes until start of game. Board at stops starting southbound on Michigan and Randolph. Connections are made with Metra trains at Millennium Station, Ogilvie Center and Union Station. The #20 Madison Bus travels west on Madison Street, starting downtown at Wabash Street and runs every few minutes, making all stops to the United Center.

From the United Center : The #19 United Center Express and the #20 Madison buses run every few minutes, departing from the eastbound side of Madison Street. Buses make all stops.

Suites Parking

Two reserved parking passes will be valid in lots C and K. The other two reserved parking passes will be for parking in lots A, B, D, or L. Holders of these passes will be directed to A, B, D, or L lots by traffic police and parking attendants based on traffic conditions. Parking passes are good for one space each. All parking passes are mobile entry only.

For all special events, each Executive Suite Holder will receive two complimentary parking passes per event ordered. These two passes will be for reserved parking located in lots C and K. In addition, Executive Suite Holders will also receive the option to purchase four additional parking passes in lots C and K for special events.

Suite Holder parking passes are also valid for buses or limousines under specific guidelines.

Lexus Club Parking

Lexus Club Seat members have reserved parking in fenced, well-lit and clearly marked parking lots adjacent to the United Center for all Blackhawks or Bulls preseason, regular season and playoff games. All Lexus Club members who purchase tickets to other events may also purchase one preferred parking pass (in lot C or K) for such events. Details on how to obtain parking for other events are included with the fax transmission announcing each event.

Lexus Club Seat members with two to four tickets receive a complimentary, reserved parking space in a closed-in, paved lot for all Blackhawks or Bulls preseason, regular season and playoff games. Lexus Club Seat members with five seats or more will be provided with two parking passes.

UBER ZONE FAQs:

What is the Uber Zone (Lot E) at the United Center? To increase and streamline the fan experience for guests who take Uber to and from the United Center, the new Uber Zone is located at the corner of Madison Street and Wood Street (Lot E) and will combine the three former Uber locations around the arena. Traffic leading to the three prior Uber pickup locations 1) Zone A, previously located on Wood Street & Washington Blvd. near Lot A, 2) Zone D, previously located on Monroe Street & S. Paulina Street near Lot D and 3) Zone F, previously located on Monroe Street & Seeley Ave. near Lot F will now be directed towards the one new Uber Zone in Lot E.

What is the location of the Uber Zone? The new Uber Zone at the United Center is located on the corner of Madison Street and Wood Street. Fans will enter and exit through the sidewalk entrance located on Madison Street and cars will enter the lot by turning into the Uber Zone from Madison Street. Cars will exit on Warren Blvd.

What are the hours of operation? On event days, the Uber Zone is open two hours prior to games, concerts and events and will remain open up to one hour after each event. On non-event days, the Uber Zone will be closed and Uber rides will be dropped off near the corner of Madison Street and Wood Street outside of the Uber Zone.

What is the pickup process for fans?

• Using the Uber app, fans inside the United Center will call an Uber ride.
• Guests will then head to the new Uber Zone located at the corner of Madison Street and Wood Street in front of the United Center.
• When arriving, fans will show the Uber attendant the lane number their driver is in.
• Fans will be shown the location where their Uber vehicle is located to start their next journey.

What is the dropoff process for fans? When Uber drivers arrive with guests at the United Center, they will be instructed to pull into the Uber Zone from the Madison Street side to drop off fans. Once exiting the vehicle, guests will walk out of the main entrance located on the corner of Madison Street and Wood Street. Guests can cross the street to the United Center and are encouraged to enter through the East Atrium.

Lionel Richie’s 2023 Setlist

Now that Freestyle Explosion is behind us, the next big show we’re looking forward to at Amalie Arena this month is Lionel Richie and Earth Wind & Fire ‘s Sing A Song All Night Long Tour. The concert happens Saturday, August 26. But the tour has already kicked off so we have a pretty good idea of which Lionel classics you’ll hear that night.

The show hasn’t sold out yet, but looking at the Amalie Arena website, I think it’s safe to assume it will by the day of the show. There are only scattered seats left when you look at the seating chart. Tickets start in the $100 range once you add fees. And we’re talking seats that are up in the 300 level for that price.

I saw Lionel for the first time at Amalie about 5 years ago. I’m lucky with this job that I get to go to a lot of concerts. So when one stands out, that’s saying something. This was the first concert I can think of where everyone knew the word to every song from beginning to end. There’s zero filler with a Lionel Richie concert. It’s hit after hit after hit… (pun intended) all night long.

Is it going to be that way on this tour? Not so much. As I look at the set list from the tour kick off, I see a few songs that I don’t know – but you might. There are a lot more Commodores songs on this tour than I remember when I went to that Tampa concert a few years ago.

I remember at that show in Tampa I went to a few years ago, Lionel sat down at the piano and started with a slow song, “Easy” by the Commodores. He’s starting soft for this one too… and at the piano. But it’s this iconic ballad “Hello” that kicks off the show on this tour. It’s the song that’s fueled many memes in the past decade!

Running With The Night

The tempo picks up quick.  Do you recognize the bridesmaid in this music video?  That’s Sheila E !

He didn’t open with it, but you won’t have to wait long for the Commodores classic.

Listen closely for the unmistakable vocals by the late Kenny Rogers . Some criticized the song for being too similar to “Easy.” They might have a point since the songs get the mashup treatment on this tour!

Another iconic Lionel love song with an unforgettable piano intro. This one ended up becoming a GRAMMY winner for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.

Stuck On You

And yet another Lionel classic that’ll have couples in the crowd slow dancing.  After having so much success to this point in his career with pop and R&B, this one really resonated with country music fans in the summer of 1984.

Speaking of country music, Lionel recorded a new version of this one with Tim McGraw in 2012.

… and he did another country collab with Blake Shelton!

Dancing On The Ceiling

As catchy as this one is, it’s taken it’s share of criticism over the years.  Blender magazine had it at #20 on their worst songs of all time list.

Three Times A Lady

Back to the ballads!  This one was the first #1 for The Commodores.  Lionel once said he imagined this song would be better sung by someone like Frank Sinatra .

Fancy Dancer

This is one of those songs I mentioned at the start that wasn’t familiar to me.  But in my defense, I was more into Sesame Street than the Commodores though in 1978.  Jazzy funk here.

The first Commodores Top 10 hit in the United States recorded in 1975.

Lady (You Bring Me Up)

Early ’80s music videos are fun to watch. No one really knew what to do. Someone thought a soccer match would be the best visual accompaniment to this one.

Just to Be Close to You

The Commodores classic got up to #7 in the summer of 1976.

Even though it’s one of the Commodores best known hits, it was never really released as a single.

Endless Love

It helps when you decide to part ways with The Commodores to have Diana Ross sharing the mic. So many have covered this one, from Mariah Carey to Kenny Rogers, Shania Twain to Luther Vandross.

Brick House

This funky favorite on The Q105 Saturday Night Dance Party hit #5 in 1977.

Know who covered this one? Bo Duke! Yup! Dukes of Hazard star John Schneider did this one but it wasn’t nearly as successful, peaking at #69 on the charts. You don’t mess with this classic. Boss Hogg should have arrested him for even trying.

Say You Say Me

A song that was written for the movie White Nights . Crazy part is the song is NOT on the movie’s soundtrack. Even though (and because, really) it hit #1.

We Are The World

Still the 8th best selling single of all time. Lionel wanted to create a 3rd version of the song to help battle COVID-19 in poorer countries.

All Night Long

You can’t not do this one.  The tour is partially named after it.  Did you know this music video was produced by one of The Monkees ?!  Yup… Michael Nesmith!

Lionel richie, trending on billboard, diddy files motion to dismiss some claims in a sexual assault lawsuit.

The 2023 Sing a Song All Night Long tour is slated to kick off on Aug. 4 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn., and will make stops in Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, Toronto, Atlanta, Houston and more before concluding on Sept. 15 at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum.

Fans can score tickets to the North American trek starting on Tuesday, March 7, with via the Citi cardmember presale. Cardholders will be able to purchase tickets from March 7 at 10 a.m. local time through Sunday, March 12, at 10 p.m. local time. General onsale for the tour begins on March 13 at 10 a.m. local time via ticketmaster.com.

Lionel Richie is a great performer, very personable, entertaining, and of course, a wonderful artist. He engages the audience through most of his show. This is the second time I've seen him at Red Rocks, west of Denver, and each time it is over the top. I personally would have loved for him to sing songs without the audience singing parts of the songs.

Sorry but although he has a great stage presence, he can no longer sing. Felt like leaving after a few songs . Charging me 172 00 for 102.00 worth of actual lawn seats. It was my first time at Ravinia, a beautiful place. Really Do not understand how you can charge so much more.

It was a very good concert overall. I'd like to have been able to hear the singers voice a bit better. It was drowned out by increasing instrumental tones. Lionel Richie's voice still soothes the soul.

Next time attending any concert at this location, I'll be sure to be in the chairs in front of the stage rather than deal with drunken folks spilling wine on me twice while stumbling over the bleacher styled seating.

It's been a few years since the UK has had the pleasure of Lionel Richie 's company, but the singer, songwriter and American Idol judge is coming back next summer for a series of shows.

The man himself announced the news with a post on Twitter, along with a teaser video for the upcoming dates.
