This unique village, nestled in the heart of the Maures massif, seems to have been placed by a divine hand in an amphitheater of wooded and flowery hills. Surrounded by vineyards, it offers an enchanting setting. However, don’t be fooled by appearances, because this hamlet hides many other treasures to discover.

From the Gulf, a narrow road winds through the cork oaks and crosses small passes before descending towards the plain where the village is rooted in the middle of the vineyards. This typically Provencal commune is lively and forward-looking, while respecting the riches of its land. Located in the heart of the Maures, near the sea, it strives to preserve an exceptional living environment.

At first glance, the village may seem modest, but it is pleasant to stroll through its streets and discover charming features such as the church bell tower, fountains, presbytery and traditional wells. On Place Foch, shaded by plane trees, a Provençal market comes alive on Thursdays and shops are open every day, including Sundays. To soak up the local atmosphere, sit on the Quatre Chemins bench.

25 HAMLETS, NOT ONE LESS!

Le Plan de la Tour is a place that cannot be visited, but can be discovered. This extensive territory presents a unique feature in the region: 25 discreet hamlets scattered among the steep hills. Each of these hamlets has its own character and way of life, which makes the discovery of these pearls with their delicious toponymy even more pleasant. For example, Les Brugassières, where heather grows, Le Préconil, Vallaury, Le Vernet, where alder grows, Prat Bourdin with its menhirs, Le Revest… As you walk along the rural paths, you can discover the wildlife and local flora, while following the traces of a past that goes back to prehistory. It is an enriching experience to live in all seasons.

WIDE NATURE, LAND OF DISCOVERY

Want a preview? The “Gorgues” trail is ideal. It is easy and accessible to all, and will allow you to discover the village as a whole: its vineyard, its hamlets, as well as two menhirs which stand on the edge of a stream. To the north of the village, the mining trail bears witness to past mining activity, with the extraction of lead and silver. By following this path, you will climb naturally from the plains to the tops of the surrounding hills. Another path connects La Garde-Freinet to San Peïre, via the Col de Vignon and the hills. At an altitude of 416 meters, one can better imagine this world apart, a true paradise for hiking, mountain biking, horse riding or even meditation. Everyone can choose their mode of transport to enjoy this exceptional environment.

TRADITIONS ARE CELEBRATE ALL YEAR ROUND

The rhythm of the seasons is marked by numerous traditional festivals. In March, the Corso parades with floats decorated with white heather, coming from our hills (every other year). At the end of April, we celebrate olive plants and olive oil, as well as the retro car festival. In May, Saint-Pons blesses animals and agricultural equipment during the donkey festival. During the summer we look forward to the night markets, balls and Festival dans les Vignes shows. In September, when the grapes have ripened, we honor the cooked wine. And of course, Christmas is a special time when the hamlets are lit up, the lantern parade is prepared and the big vigil brings together all the inhabitants of the village around the cacho fue . Le Plan de la Tour is a village in the South, where a fraternal atmosphere reigns.

LET’S GO FOR A WALK

From the Tourist Office go down Place Foch to Place de l’Oranger then take Rue Saint-Martin to its square and its old well . Take rue Pasteur and stroll through the alleys up to Place Clemenceau where the hackberry trees bathe the church in their refreshing shade. At the old presbytery, take the porch towards rue de l’Horloge; view of the church bell tower. Go up Avenue du Général-Leclerc to the Foyer des Campagnes. To go further, a few hundred meters on the right discover the Emponse district, its cobbled streets and small squares.

A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY

The village of Plan de la Tour was created in 1792 from the detachment of the eastern part of the Garde-Freinet. The most important hamlet then was that of Saint-Martin. In 1835, it expanded by more than a thousand hectares from the western part of Sainte-Maxime. Since the Neolithic period, men have left their traces there by the construction of menhirs (see the Gorgues circuit) and dolmens. In the Middle Ages, the different lordships which made it up belonged successively to the viscounts of Marseille, of the abbey of Saint-Victor, to the monks of Lérins and in the 13th century to the Cistercians of the abbey of Thoronet. Most of the twenty-five hamlets that make it up today correspond to the final phase of the reconquest of its territory, in the 16th century, by the monks of Thoronet.

• The Saint-Martin church and its campanile underwent a beautiful renovation in 2019. • The renovated old neighborhoods with their cobbled streets. • The 25 hamlets that make up the commune. • The menhirs of Prat Bourdin; follow the path on foot after the hamlet for 80 m, cross the ford, the first is located 40 m higher on the left and the second 70 m further on the right.

• Route de la Corniche des Crêtes: residential area on the edge of the Maures forest. Viewpoint over both the Gulf of Saint-Tropez and the Bay of Cavalaire (orientation table). And on the La Mole valley if you go up a little. In these woods: the ruined Peinier farm (group of 18th century houses called “Ménages”) near a natural water resurgence, to be discovered by following the “Les Panoramas” hiking circuit ( www.visitgolfe.com ).

We found only a couple of cafés open on a sunny weekday in the winter. Both were on the "basic" side, small, noisy and smokey, but of course the service was fast and polite and the clientel were talkative and friendly.

The village is located in an oasis of cleared farms and vineyards in the midst of the Maures forests of pine, pubescent oak, cork oak and olive trees. Corks from the numerous cork oaks are one of the local products - along with Côte de Provence wines, olives, red and yellow marble and pewter. Color is added in the first few months of the year with mimosa growing thickly, in peoples gardens, on the hillsides along the northwest part of town and along the roads and lanes nearby. On the D44 towards Le Muy, just a few kilometers from Plan-de-la-Tour we saw forests of the bright yellow shrubs. Just east of town, where the D74 heads out across the farmlands towards Sainte Maxime, there's a forest of umbrella pine ( pin parasole ).

History of Plan-de-la-Tour

First record, 12th century Castrum de Planaturris

The earliest official record of the village is the name Castrum de Planaturris from the 12th century, but the earliest real record of local habitation goes back to prehistoric times: a menhir, 3 dolmens and related artifacts dating to the Bronze Age are located at Reverti, 5 km south of the current village. Celtic-Ligurian sites have been located nearby, and there are vestiges of various Roman sites.

Market day: Thur. Market is Thurs mornings, summer and winter, on the south side of town. It isn't a huge market, but there's pretty much a stand for everything: fishmonger, fruits and local produce, 'terroir' products such as local wines, honey, patés and cheeses, some clothes, roasted chicken, and so on.

For short hikes, you can use part of the GR51 and follow the numerous forestry roads and trails through the hills.

Aarzel een beetje om dit adres met jullie te delen…Stel je eens voor, je begint de lunch met een pastis. Daarna zoek je een mooie fles rosé uit de regio om je eten te begeleiden. Een prachtig menu om te kiezen, dat wordt geserveerd door... ontzettend aardige medewerkers. Het kan allemaal hier. Een lunch menu voor 19,80, een salade met calamaris, daarna een moot tonijn, met heerlijke gele rijst en dessert en koffie. Leuk terras met mooie schilderijen op de muren, die te koop zijn. Heerlijk geluncht in dit restaurant in het centrum van het gezellige dorpje Plan de la Tour. Vooral het terras is aangenaam om te vertoeven. Menu gekozen: heerlijke foie gras vooraf en vervolgens eend. Uitstekend eten en fraai opgediend. Lekkere wijnen. Prijzen iets boven gemiddeld maar prijs-kwaliteit verhouding voldoet zeker!

Wij komen hier al een aantal jaar en worden altijd weer verrast! Heerlijk lunchen in de binnentuin, vriendelijke bediening en mooie smaakvolle gerechten met lekkere wijnen. Zeker de moeite waard als je in de buurt bent.

Op aanraden van verhuurder vakantiewoning hier besproken via email en dat ging perfect. Correct en tijdig antwoord gekregen. Gekozen voor het driegangenmenu menu met een keuze gelijk aan de a la carte kaart. Zowel voor- hoofd en nagerecht waren uitstekend. Smakelijk, mooi gecombineerd en borden... mooi opgemaakt. Gekozen wijn van lokale producent ook heel lekker. Menu kostte €38 en wijn 27. Samen dus iets over de honderd Euro met top gerechten en goede fles wijn. Lukt in NL niet zo makkelijk. Bediening was super vriendelijke en spraken ook Engels terwijl dat wat ons betreft niet per se een must is. Meer

A village cooperative in full revival, nestled in a green setting, sits at the entrance of the Saint-Tropez Gulf. In 2006, the winemakers of Plan de la Tour changed their philosophy dramatically, focusing instead on quality. A few years later, the bet is successful. More demanding and better structured than in the past, the Var cooperative is more attractive than ever.

In addition to house wines, the shop of Les Vignerons du Plan de la Tour offers a selection of local products: olive oil, anchovy paste, tapenade, terrines, aperitif wines etc.

Original and unusual

The commune of Plan de la Tour is home to many professionals of the Seventh Art. The most illustrious are Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp who still share there a nice property of fifteen hectares. This is where Monsieur, under the pseudonym Richard Mudd, directed Madame in the music video for the song ‘Pourtant’ (Bliss album). The French star has also inspired the winemakers of Plan de la Tour, who pay homage to her every year with a nod cuvee called ‘Un Coin de Paradis.’ Its special feature is an original bottle that changes for each vintage. It’s a true collector produced in only 3,000 bottles.

I loved everything about this property. Peacefully tucked away in the hills of La Garde-Freinet, you’re immediately met with the smell of the fresh garden, and lovely sounds of happy birds. The room was clean and fresh and you have temperature control inside of your suite. Big open bathrooms with great water pressure in the showers. The pool is so beautiful and taken good care of. Lovely communal sitting area to enjoy breakfast or just to enjoy the day. They made us a quaint, delicious breakfast every morning that brought a smile to my face every time. The fresh lemons from the trees on the property in your water is a must!! We met a lovely couple who were also staying at Pontillaou, that told us stories about where they’re from and gave some good bits of travel advice. We fell in love with our sweet hosts who were so attentive and kind and very respectful in every way you could imagine. We had great chats with them and I genuinely cannot wait to cross paths with them again. So much love for this beautiful place and people!!

Le Plan de la Tour is een klein dorpje in de VAR regio Zuid-Oost-Frankrijk. Het ligt in de Provence van de Alpes-Côte d'Azur. Het dorp heeft een totale oppervlakte van 36,8 sq.km. Het is omgeven door dichte bossen van dennen, eiken en kastanjes op alle kanten. De mensen hier volgt een eenvoudige levensstijl en het dorp is weg van de drukte-drukte van het stadsleven. Le Plan de la Tour ligt in het hart van het Massif des Maures gebergte. Frans is de officiële taal die wordt gesproken in het dorp.

Het dorp bleef onbewoond voor een lange periode van tijd. De 16e eeuw was getuige van de ontwikkeling van het dorp. Nieuwe gebouwen, kerken en kapelle...

Dit bijzondere appartement, een toren, heeft 3 etages en is direct gelegen aan het zwembad. Op de bovenste etage is een overdekt dakterras met een magnifiek uitzicht tot aan de Alpen.

Beschrijving

La Tour (de Toren) is een 2 tot 4 persoons appartement met een super dakterras. Dit bijzondere en luxe appartement ligt direct aan het gemeenschappelijke zwembad van Hameau des Claudins.

Op de begane grond bevindt zich een slaapkamer met 2 eenpersoons bedden, kledingkast en TV. Ook is hier een badkamer met wastafel, toilet en douche. Bij de slaapkamer is een klein terras met zitjes aan het zwembad.

De luxe keuken met eethoek op de eerste etage van het toren-appartement heeft o.a. een vaatwasser, combimagnetron, 4-pits kookplaat, grote koelkast en een TV. Op deze etage is aan de achterzijde een groot terras met eethoek.

De woonkamer met een zithoek, twee persoons (slaap)bank en een TV bevindt zich op de tweede verdieping.

Op de derde verdieping is een super overdekt dakterras met een eethoek, loungeset en een magnifiek uitzicht tot aan de Alpen.

In het hele appartement is airconditioning aanwezig.

Maak gebruik van de gemeenschappelijke faciliteiten van Hameau des Claudins, zoals het verwarmde zwembad (april - oktober), of laat u verleiden tot een partijtje jeu de boules of tafeltennis. De beheerders bieden ook een broodservice voor verse croissants en baguettes.

Deze leuke vrijstaande villa voor maximaal 7 personen en baby beschikt over een zwembad, airconditioning, 3 slaapkamers, 2 badkamers met douche en/of bad, wastafel en toilet, een separaat toilet, grote keuken met o.a. vaatwasser, oven en magnetron, woonkamer met TV en bankstel en eethoek, groot terras met gasbarbecue, overdekt terras, poolhouse/buitenkeuken met douche en toilet, ligstoelen, jeu de boules baan en grote afgesloten tuin rondom het huis.  

Le Mas Big'Amac ligt op een prachtige rustige plek in het centrum van Plan de la tour met een grote afgesloten tuin van 1600 m2 en prachtig uitzicht op de bergen. Een heerlijk zwembad met poolhouse met toilet en douche tot uw beschikking met meerdere ligbedden. Tuinmeubilair en Weber gasbarbecue op een overdekt terras om heerlijk buiten te eten en te genieten. Een wasmachine aan de achterzijde van de woning. Tevens een groot grasveld waar kinderen heerlijk rond kunnen rennen in de omheinde tuin en een speeltoestel. Bij aankomst een poort met voldoende parkeergelegenheid op eigen terrein. Een lichte woning met balkonplafond in de woonkamer, eethoek, bankstel en TV. Grote halfopen keuken met vaatwasser, koelkast met vriesvak, oven, magnetron, koffiezetapparaat en broodrooster. Volledig ingericht met alles wat u nodig heeft. Aan de achterzijde van de woning 3 slaapkamers en 2 badkamers en seperaat toilet. De eerste slaapkamer heeft een tweepersoonsbed en inbouwkast,  openslaande deuren naar de tuin en ensuite badkamer met douche, wastafel en toilet.  De tweede slaapkamer heeft een tweepersoonsbed met inbouwkast. De derde slaapkamer heeft een tweepersoonsbed en een eenpersoonsbed met kasten. Iedere kamer heeft airconditioning.  Tweede badkamer met bad, douche en wastafel. Voldoende ruimte voor 2 gezinnen of bijvoorbeeld een gezin met opa en oma erbij. Vanaf de woning loopt u zo naar het centrum van het gezellige wijndorpje Plan de la Tour met o.a. bakkers, winkels, restaurants, een bank en cafés. Op iedere donderdagochtend markt met o.a. verse lokale producten. Op enkele minuten rij afstand,  de gezellige badplaats Sainte-Maxime met nog meer winkels, restaurants, de boulevard, een casino en heel veel stranden en prachtige baaien. Het bekende Saint-Tropez op 25 minuten rij afstand met op iedere dinsdag- en zaterdagochtend een leuke drukbezochte markt. Een omgeving waar ontzettend veel te zien en te doen is voor een heerlijke strandvakantie en/of actieve/sportieve vakantie!

Hartelijk dank voor jullie mooie beoordeling. Fijn dat jullie zo genoten hebben. Het gasfornuis is inmiddels gerepareerd. Probleem met onsteking. Wij zien jullie heel graag nog eens terug!

Restaurants en winkels op loopafstand. Strand op 15 min rijden. Zeer schoon. Complete inrichting. Fijn zwembad. Airco’s op elke kamer, heerlijk om goed te slapen. Vriendelijke ontvangst.

Le Plan-de-la-Tour  is een gemeente in het  Franse  departement  Var  (regio  Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur ).De plaats maakt deel uit van het arrondissement  Draguignan .

In het wijndorp Le Plan de la Tour kunt u nog de echte ‘franse’ sfeer proeven.  U kunt er terecht voor boodschappen, cafés, restaurants, galeries of voor een wijntje op het dorpsplein onder de plantanen.   Bent u een golfliefhebber dan zijn er twee golfterreinen in de buurt, Beauvallon en Ste. Maxime.

Watersporters kunnen hun hart in de azuurblauwe zee ophalen: duiken, zeilen, waterskiën en lekker snel varen met een jetski zijn mogelijkheden die u hier geboden worden.

Vanuit onder andere St. Maxime en St. Tropez zijn mooie boottochten te maken langs de kust en naar de prachtige Iles d’Or (“de gouden eilanden”). In de haven van St Maxime kunt u op de veerboot naar o.a. St. Tropez stappen wat in de drukke zomertijd aan te bevelen is.

Nascosto tra le montagne e i tesori della natura, l’agriturismo è raggiungibile facilmente con una breve strada di campagna dal piccolo villaggio di Epinel.

Dopo il casello di Aosta Ovest-Aymavilles girare a destra seguendo le indicazioni per Aymavilles-Cogne. Passato il castello di Aymavilles , mantenere la destra e seguire le indicazioni per Cogne. Raggiunto l’abitato di Epinel, frazione di Cogne, seguire le indicazioni per la nostra struttura. L ’agriturismo è dotato di garage gratuito.

La struttura è raggiungibile anche con il pullman di linea per Cogne (circa 6 corse al giorno).
