The director has long been a vocal voice in the vegan community.

Vegan Avatar director James Cameron

James Cameron has broken his silence after attending a “dolphin show” as part of the Avatar: The Way of Water publicity tour.

The director, who went vegan a decade ago, said he had no idea he was attending such a show. And, that he was “seething” about the situation while on stage.

The incident occurred earlier this month. He was promoting the new film in Tokyo, Japan, alongside stars Jon Landau, Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, and Stephen Lang.

As part of the press conference, they all watched an Avatar-themed show at a marine park. Cameron introduced the proceedings, saying “Welcome to Pandora” (referring to the fictional world the movies are set in).

Cameron has long been a vocal voice in the vegan community, so his attendance at the show was met with backlash.

‘I was seething’

In an email apparently written by Cameron and sent to ocean photographer Brian Skerry, who he previously worked with, Cameron said he hadn’t known about the show until the last minute.

The email, which was shared to Facebook , reads: “We were on a whirlwind publicity tour for Avatar: The Way of Water across multiple countries, and I was getting whisked along from one appearance or interview to another for a week straight, literally doing twenty or thirty interviews a day.

“I got handed a schedule that showed, as my first of six stops of the day, a fan event at an aquarium. I was visualizing something like the Monterey Bay Aquarium, with its great science and conservation programs. There was zero mention of a dolphin show. I literally found out there was a dolphin show AS we were walking out on stage. We were already out in the lights and fans were cheering.

“I said something snide on-mike like, ‘I’m sure the dolphins were all asked for their consent to be part of the show’ or something like that. I was seething. But I didn’t want to create a big public incident. Maybe I should have, in retrospect. But my instinct is always to meet people where they are. Which is the whole point of Avatar: The Way of Water . To shift consciousness.”

The dolphin show

The show featured a number of dolphins performing “tricks,” and one appearing to dance with a trainer. After applauding the show, Cameron seemed to claim that the dolphins themselves agreed to be in it.

He said: “I love these animals, I love their intelligence. I love their sociability, their ability to connect with us and to interact with us and learn from us. And I’m sure everybody asked their permission to be in the show.”

Animal rights organization PETA criticized the director’s decision to attend the show. Speaking to Plant Based News ( PBN ) at the time, PETA US Senior Vice President Lisa Lange said: “James Cameron waited 13 years for the development of the right technology to bring the underwater world of Pandora to life. So why on Earth didn’t he pause for just five minutes to consider whether he should have allowed himself to be seen as endorsing the cruelty of marine parks?

“Confining far-ranging dolphins to concrete tanks and using them as surfboards – riding on their faces in circus-style shows – is something the villains of  Avatar  would do. PETA urges him to reject such animal misery outright and encourages everyone to shun these cruel parks.”

Activist Bailey Mason ( @warriorforanimals ) also slammed the filmmaker. Mason told PBN : “James Cameron, as a high profile environmentalist, should never associate himself with the captivity of dolphins. Dolphin shows are cruel, not conservation.”

Is James Cameron vegan?

The video came as a shock to some of the vegan community, as the director has long been an outspoken advocate for animals.

Cameron was also an executive producer of the 2018 Netflix film The Game Changers , which looked at the health benefits of a vegan diet.

Cameron first adopted a plant-based diet in 2012. He recently announced that he now refers to himself as a “ futurevore ,” rather than vegan, in reference to his belief that it’s the diet of the future.

Video from the press tour shows dolphins performing tricks in the water, with the two trainers being lifted into the air by the aquatic mammals.

The actors, who were sat in a row with clips from the Avatar film playing on a screen behind them, can be seen cheering and clapping throughout the show.

Following the show, which featured more than six dolphins jumping across the pool simultaneously, Cameron joked that he was sure 'everybody asked the animals permission to be in the show'.

PETA says dolphins suffer physical and behavioural harm during live shows and confinement in captivity.

Of greatest concern is the practice of trainers riding dolphins through the water while standing on their backs and beaks.

Such stunts strain the marine mammals' sensitive lower jaws in a way that can damage their hearing, injure joints and muscles and worsen other injuries caused by confinement within holding tanks where the dolphins are kept.

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Cameron and Avatar's producers 20th Century Studios for comment.

The film 'Avatar: The Way of Water' premiered last week in London, 13 years after Cameron released the highest-grossing film of all time, 'Avatar'.

The long-awaited sequeltakes audiences back to the enchanting world of Pandora, where in the first film the native blue Na'vi people battled human colonists for the moon's natural resources.

Set more than a decade later, 'The Way of Water' sees actors Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana return as Jake Sully and Neytiri, now parents of five children.

Their peaceful life in the paradise-like jungle is interrupted by the return of the 'Sky People', the Na'vi name for humans, who are after Sully. To protect their family and their tribe, Sully, Neytiri and their children flee to a far-flung territory and seek refuge with the oceanic Metkayina clan.

Critics rave about Avatar sequel's 'ravishing' visuals... but James Cameron's $350m epic comes under fire for being VERY long with 'no plot' and 'atrocious dialogue'

After a number of different premieres all over the world, the reviews are finally in for director James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water.

The first waves of reviews were published on Tuesday evening, with the film scoring a strong 83% on Rotten Tomatoes, out of the first 133 reviews.

Critics from around the world - including Daily Mail's own Brian Viner - heaped praise on Cameron's direction and astonishing visuals, though the story and bloated three-hour-12-minute runtime were points of contention in many reviews.

Viner stated in his four-stars-out-of-five-stars review, 'This sequel is tremendous fun, even bigger and better than the original, but by golly it will test your bladder.'

He added, 'Yes, this is an insanely long film – but so was David Lean's Lawrence Of Arabia, which director James Cameron cited as a major influence on Avatar for its 'good, old-fashioned, adolescent adventure storytelling', and that was even longer.'

Viner added that Pandora, 'looks absolutely ravishing,' particularly in 3D, though he doesn't think it's, 'a film for the ages.'

'It is tailored so carefully for our own age, with ecological and environmental messages that could not hit the audience any more forcefully if they came flying out of the screen at them, which of course sometimes they appear to do,' he added.

Entertainment Weekly 's Leah Greenblatt also agreed the sequel was better than the first in her A- review.

'A meticulous world-building as astonishing and enveloping as anything we've ever seen on screen — until that crown is passed, inevitably, in December 2024, the projected release date for Avatar 3,' she said.

She admitted that the film is, 'almost certainly too long' while adding the acting works in 'varying degrees of success.'

'Saldaña's mother-warrior makes herself ferociously vulnerable, and Weaver somehow gets us to believe she's an outcast teen; Worthington often sounds like he's just doing his best to sound 10 percent less Australian,' she said.

'Even the non-verbal creatures — bioluminescent jellyfish as delicate as fairy wings; whales the size of aircraft carriers, with four eyes and flesh like an unshelled turtle's — have an uncanny anthropomorphic charm, stealing several moments from their speaking counterparts,' she added.

Deadline 's Todd McCarthy added, 'There is beauty everywhere you look, from the spectacle provided by nature's creations, the tactile sense you get from the skin and hair of humans and other natural life, and the emotional expressions of strength and sensitivity.'

He added that moviegoers should see it on the big screen, adding those who wait to see it at home are, 'wimping out.'

One of the few negative reviews was from Variety 's Owen Gleiberman, who admitted it's, 'bigger, longer and even more dizzyingly spectacular sequel,' though he was not impressed with its substance.

'I'm sorry, but as I watched 'The Way of Water' the only part of me that was moved was my eyeballs,' he said.

The Daily Beast 's Nick Schager also posted a negative review, adding, 'The Oscar winner's latest does nothing if not take itself oh-so-seriously, be it with regards to its endless barrage of sound and fury or its puffed-up narrative about Pandora's Na'vi resuming their good fight against villainous humanity.'

He added, 'The director keeps pushing closer and closer to photorealism and yet coming up just short; the more he strives to meld the fake and the authentic, the more the contrast shows.'

Perhaps one of the most negative reviews of the sequel came from The Daily Telegraph 's Robbie Collin, giving it just one star out of five, stating, 'it's like being waterboarded with turquoise cement.

'James Cameron's decade-in-the-making The Way of Water has no plot, no stakes and atrocious dialogue,' adding, 'What happened to this great director?'

It was also reported by Deadline  that the sequel is eyeing a worldwide opening weekend of a whopping $525 million in what will be Disney's largest worldwide debut ever playing in over 52K screens.

It's projected to take in $175 million for its domestic debut, though that's at the high end of tracking, with some projecting a $150 million domestic debut.

Analysts are also predicting $350 million from foreign markets - $100 million of which will come from China alone.

James Cameron accused of animal cruelty for holding 'Avatar' event at dolphin show

James Cameron is under fire and being accused of "endorsing cruelty of marine parks" for holding a press conference for "Avatar" at a captive dolphin show in Japan.

The famed director hyped up his newest film, "Avatar: The Way of Water," by reportedly telling attendees, "Welcome to Pandora." Just then, dolphins entered the pool with two trainers, The Daily Mail said.

James, alongside others in the film, proceeded to take questions and speak about the film while more than six dolphins performed tricks at the Tokyo marine park.

This promo video for @JimCameron new Avatar movie shows him applaud the captive performing dolphins show he just witnessed. Imagine the impact his Avatar franchise would have if he included an anti-dolphin captivity message in his films. #AvatarTheWayOfTheWater #EmptyTheTanks pic.twitter.com/X9ikbOXPSq — Alison (@alibarbiepro) December 14, 2022

Perhaps expecting a negative reaction from animal advocates, James joked, "I'm sure everybody asked the animals permission to be in the show."

He added: "I love these animals, I love their intelligence. I love their sociability, their ability to connect with us and to interact with us and learn from us."

Following the press conference-masquerading-as-a-dolphin-show, a spokesman for the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals said, "James Cameron waited 13 years for the development of the right technology to bring the underwater world of Pandora to life. So why on Earth didn't he pause for just five minutes to consider whether he should have allowed himself to be seen as endorsing the cruelty of marine parks?"

The statement, given to Plant Based News, said, "Confining far-ranging dolphins to concrete tanks and using them as surfboards – riding on their faces in circus-style shows – is something the villains of Avatar would do. PETA urges him to reject such animal misery outright and encourages everyone to shun these cruel parks."

Twitter soon lit up with others critical of the decision to hold the press conference at a marine park.

"@JimCameron had a chance to be a voice for dolphins held in captivity and make a stand. Instead he chose to ignore them so he could sell his #Avatar movie," one person said.

Another added, "You should have never exploited captive dolphins in Avatar tour press! Disappointed in your decision, Never applaud any wild animal forced to perform for you!"

Ironically, James is a vegan of 10 years.

Singer abruptly walked off 'Today' gig over dressing room

Kelly Rowland

Kelly Rowland was just not destined to guest host the "Today" show.

According to a new report, the former Destiny's Child singer was set to fill in for Jenna Bush Hager in the fourth hour of "Today" on Feb. 15, 2024, but she instead walked off the set because she was unhappy with her dressing room, Page Six reported. Kelly's abrupt departure left "Today" in a bind, as producers scrambled to find a last-minute replacement.

Kelly Rowland appeared on "Today" as a guest in the 8 a.m. hour to promote her Tyler Perry-produced Netflix movie "Mea Culpa." (She stars in the film, which she also produced.) She was also set to guest host the fourth hour of the show with Hoda Kotb. However, Kelly decided to pull the plug on the hosting gig because she and her team were displeased with her dressing room — Team Kelly apparently wanted the bigger dressing room Jennifer Lopez was occupying at that moment.

"Kelly and her team were not happy. They did not like the dressing room, so they decided to pull her off the show, leaving Hoda without a guest host for the 10 a.m. hour," a source told Page Six.

Kelly Rowland's sudden exit stunned "Today" show producers.

"She's beloved at 'Today.' She was getting the full hour, and Hoda's the biggest hype woman on the planet! It made no sense," a source said, adding that Kelly and her team were playing a game of "musical dressing rooms." The Destiny's Child singer "didn't like the one she was in."

"Today" dressing rooms are known to be some of the smallest in the business, and Page Six's source even compared them to "glorified closets."

"They're not nice. It's the oldest building. There are major space limitations, [it's] not glamorous. It's not fresh flowers and candles and gourmet food. It's basically [a] white box," the insider said.

It seems that Kelly Rowland was offered multiple dressing room options, including a large utility makeup and hair area.

"They didn't want that. [The show] basically offered up as much as possible, but they weren't happy with it, so they walked and they left," the Page Six source said.

Amid the drama, singer Rita Ora volunteered to step in. The "For You" singer took over the spot intended for Kelly Rowland — and delivered a flawless performance!

Congressman sinks impeachment bid after casting vote from wheelchair, plus more reactions

shutterstock_editorial_13868776bb

A vote to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas failed in the House of Representatives after some unanticipated dramatics. Due to the hospitalization of Democratic Rep. Al Green, Republicans believed they had the votes to impeach the cabinet member. However, the Texas congressman stunned his colleagues after rushing back following abdominal surgery to vote "no," all while sitting in a wheelchair and wearing hospital scrubs. The vote failed 216-214. Four Republicans joined the Democrats in their "no" votes, but one of those votes was done as a procedural matter so that the vote can be brought up again.

Following the House drama and the unsuccessful vote, many in the House chambers reacted. From his hospital bed, Al Green, himself, told The New York Times, "I was determined to cast the vote long before — I had no idea how close it was going to be. I didn't come assuming that my vote was going to make a difference. I came because it was personal."

Keep clicking to see how others in Congress are reacting….

"The sham impeachment of Secretary Mayorkas was demanded by Donald Trump and is being led by Marjorie Taylor Greene. What does this have to do with fixing the challenges at the border? Absolutely nothing." —Rep. Hakeem Jeffries via CNN

"There was a motion to recommit. That means that we can bring the Articles of Impeachment back to the floor maybe as early as next week. So, this is not over yet." —Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene

"Welcome to another week of Impeachment Unlimited. Having no legislative accomplishments to show for their 14 months in power, Republicans are voting on yet another pointless resolution. These are not serious people." —Rep. Adam Schiff

"Last night was a setback but democracy is messy. We live in a time of divided government. We have a razor-thin margin here and every vote counts. Sometimes when people show up when they're not expected to be in the building it changes the equation. We have a duty and a responsibility to take care of this issue…We will pass those articles of impeachment. We'll do it on the next time round." —House Speaker Mike Johnson

"Wouldn't it have been nice to still have Kevin McCarthy in the House? Never thought you'd hear me say that. But McCarthy after being dislodged as speaker took his marbles and went home, he would have been a reliable vote for impeachment, but if we wasn't speaker, he wasn't willing to stick around…  the abject selfishness of Kevin McCarthy contributed to this result" —Rep. Matt Gaetz via Newsmax

"This is a not a high crime or misdemeanor. This is not an impeachable offense. This is a policy difference … it's wrong, and we should not set this precedent." —Rep. Ken Buck

"The Trump-Putin-maga faction, headed up by the distinguished gentlelady from Georgia, has been given this worthless trinket on a consolation prize, the opportunity to bring a slapstick impeachment drive against a cabinet member of unimpeachable integrity who has obviously committed no treason, no bribery, no high crimes, not misdemeanors, nothing indictable or even in-dict-able, if you prefer." —Rep. Oscar winner and long-term partner 'exchanged vows' for their three kids before he died following a secret years-long battle with ALS: Report

Sandra Bullock and longtime partner Bryan Randall were every bit a husband-wife team despite not being legally married. In fact, they were so committed that they reportedly "exchanged vows" in 2017.

On Aug. 8, DailyMail.com published a video of the couple dancing on the beach in the Bahamas allegedly following an intimate ceremony during which they exchanged vows.

avatar press tour dolphins

"They really did this for the children, to kind of seal the deal and show them this was a forever thing. After the ceremony [Sandra's kids] Louis and Laila started calling Bryan dad," a source shared.

The Academy Award-winning actress and began dating the model-turned-photographer in 2015 after they met when he photographed her son's birthday party. Although Sandra has spoken publicly about never wanting to marry again, she called Bryan "the love of my life" on a 2021 episode of "Red Table Talk."

"We share two beautiful children — three children, [including Bryan's] older daughter. It's the best thing ever," she said. At the time, she didn't reference his health issues.

Bryan passed away on Aug. 5 following a secret three-year battle with ALS, a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. He was 57.

avatar press tour dolphins

While Sandra's sister said the actress was there until the end, an insider told DailyMail.com that Bryan's illness did strain their relationship. But they were "more together than ever" at the time of his death, the insider added. Sandra also arranged and paid for his around-the-clock care.

Interestingly, split rumors had surrounded the couple for the better part of a year, largely due to the fact they hadn't been seen together in public for a while. That speculation actually helped them keep his health battle private.

avatar press tour dolphins

"Sandra kept Bryan hidden away in the back of the house. It's so big that you could conceal what was going on with him but towards the end she really didn't let people into the home beyond the doctors and nurses who were looking after him," the insider said. "It was quite convenient for them to have these rumors that they'd broken up because it helped conceal what was really going on. It was easier to let people assume they hadn't seen him because they were no longer together."

A separate source noted, "The relationship was absolutely strained by it, and it was really hard for the children. He had been living in one of her Malibu properties for a while just because it was nicer for him to be there, by the ocean, and I think some people assumed they had split because it looked like they were living separately, but there weren't. She'd have the house stocked up with everything he needed, and his nurses would go there."

According to a statement from Bryan's family released after his death, "Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private and those of us who cared for him did our best to honor his request." The statement continued, "We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours. At this time we ask for privacy to grieve and to come to terms with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan." The statement was signed by, "His Loving Family."

Singer's nanny killed in freak accident after elderly driver crashed SUV into reception area at car dealership

Yadira Calito — who nannied Katharine McPhee and David Foster's son — died in a freak accident after she was run over by an SUV at a car dealership in the Los Angeles area.

According to reports, an unnamed 84-year-old woman went to a San Fernando Valley car dealership on Aug. 11 to get her Toyota RAV4 serviced. She then somehow hit the gas pedal rather than the brakes, launching her vehicle from the service bay driveway into the customer reception area.

Yadira, who was at the dealership, suddenly found herself pinned under the car and was dragged for about 20 feet, TMZ reported. Kat and David's nanny was eventually freed from under the car and, according to DailyMail.com , an off-duty nurse started performing CPR on her before emergency services arrived.

The nanny to Kat and David's 2-year-old son, Rennie, was eventually transported to a hospital in critical condition but later died.

Two men working at the dealership were also injured in the shocking incident, but their injuries were not life-threatening. The driver of the car stayed on site to answer authorities' questions and declined to be taken to the hospital. She was not arrested.

Images from the crash — which occurred around 9 a.m. — show the white SUV parked among shattered glass.

Upon learning about Yadira's injuries and death Katharine — who found fame as a runner-up on "American Idol" in 2006 — canceled two shows in Asia, where she was touring with her Grammy-winning husband.

"Dearest Jakarta fans, it's with heavy heart I announce I have to miss our final two shows of our Asia run," she  wrote on Instagram  on Aug. 11 without providing further details. "David and I have had a horrible tragedy in our family and at least one of us need to get back home to our family."

She added, "Please know how sorry I am and how much I wish to return one day and perform for you all. Love Katharine."

The songstress flew back to Los Angeles the same day. TMZ reported that the superstar couple considered Yadira "family." After several celebrity friends, including David's ex-wife Linda Thompson, commented with well wishes, Kat disabled the comments section of her Instagram.

On Aug. 17, the car dealership, Hamer Toyota, issued a statement about what happened. "We extend our deepest condolences to Yadira's family, friends, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. The loss of such a vibrant life in such tragic circumstances is a heavy burden to bear, and we share in their grief," the dealership's director of communications told Us Weekly.

"At Hamer Toyota, we take the safety of our customers and our community very seriously. We are fully cooperating with the Los Angeles Police Department as they conduct their investigation into this unfortunate event," the spokesperson added. "Our commitment is to ensure transparency, assist the LAPD in every possible way, and to learn from this incident so we can prevent such tragedies in the future. In these moments of profound sadness, we ask our community to join us in remembering Yadira and extending our collective support to her loved ones."

Viral tanning salon mom reveals why she's running for a U.S. Senate seat in Florida as a Republican

Remember "Tan Mom"? In 2012, she went viral after she took her 5-year-old daughter to a New Jersey tanning salon. Now the pop culture personality — whose real name is Patricia Krentcil — is running for office.

avatar press tour dolphins

On Jan. 15, 2023, Patricia filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission to run for a U.S. Senate seat in Florida,  TMZ  confirmed. She's challenging incumbent GOP senator Rick Scott in the 2024 election — and she's running as a Republican despite not exactly following the party line on multiple issues, especially amid a controversy-filled political climate in Florida, where she now calls Boca Raton home.

Patricia spoke to "TMZ Live" to explain why she's running, explaining that she's not a fan of some of Republican governor Ron DeSantis's controversial policies and thinks others in her party feel the same way.

MORE: Stars who became politicians

"I was blessed and was able to be a part of raising money for the Sunshine Cathedral in Florida. I saw the amazing work they had done and it really impressed me," Patricia told TMZ, referring to the Ft. Lauderdale church with a ministry based in progressive Christianity that has a constituency of same-gender and gender non-conforming people and prides itself on being a safe and open community for LGBTQ+ people to worship.

Patricia also said she's concerned about the banning of books in her new home state. "I was horrified about the book banning [in schools] in Florida … just a lot of the episodes that are going on here," she told TMZ. "And nobody is addressing them."

avatar press tour dolphins

She also said Medicaid was an issue for her, as she believes it's "just being abominably banished for the elderly especially. That's three reasons I started doing this," she added of what sparked her interest in going to Washington.

During their chat, TMZ founder Harvey Levin pointed out that Patricia's positions make her sound more like a Democrat than a Republican. But according to her, she's running as  Republican because "I've always been a Republican and my feeling and my issues may sound more Democratic but I am a Republican through and through," she insisted.

"I'm trying to embrace it for people who realize the situation at hand, more today than it ever was, and maybe if I sound more like a Republican, Republicans need to take this not for granted," she continued.

avatar press tour dolphins

She's hoping people will see her in a new light. "I don't want to be known as what I was as 'Tan Mom.' I've grown and I'm here to help and want to help people that are struggling," she said. "And maybe more Republicans should have a different taste in their mouth when they're trying to help people in the world today."

Patricia further told TMZ, "I know that I am different. And I have suffered for it. But us all being different is what makes this country so amazing and unique."

According to the New York Post , her candidacy comes as she's starring in the TV docuseries "Tan to 10," which chronicles her efforts to stop tanning and change her life. Patricia – who went to rehab for alcohol addiction in 2013 – named her producers Gregg Maliff and Adam Barta as her campaign managers.

Princess of Pop and actor-trainer husband of 14 months are divorcing

Britney Spears and her husband of 14 months, Sam Asghari, are divorcing.

TMZ reported on Aug. 16 that the duo separated the previous week after a "nuclear argument" during which Sam confronted her over unconfirmed rumors that she'd been unfaithful .

"It's only a matter of time before Sam files for divorce," a source shared.

avatar press tour dolphins

Sam filed for divorce later the same day, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split and listing July 28 as their date of separation. In court documents, he's asking for spousal support and attorneys fees.

The writing was seemingly on the wall, as reports of blowout fights and arguments between the two have been floating around for several months. In May, a TMZ documentary claimed their marriage was in "deep trouble" and that Sam was rarely staying in their home. Britney even ditched her wedding ring during a spring vacation in Puerto Rico.

Sam was simply at his "wits' end" with Britney's often erratic behavior , the webloid reported.

Publicly, though, Sam has backed his wife, recently defending her following a physical incident with an NBA player in Las Vegas in July.

avatar press tour dolphins

Britney and Sam met in 2016 when he starred in one of her music videos. They quickly began dating and became rather inseparable. The couple got engaged in the midst of her conservatorship battle , and they eventually tied the knot in June 2022.

Prior to their 2022 wedding, the "Toxic" singer's lawyers set up an "ironclad prenup" to ensure the finances and assets Britney had going into the marriage would remain hers should she and Sam ever call it quits. Britney has an estimated net worth of $60 million. Regardless, it's believed that she will likely settle things with Sam financially. Divorce docs hint at a potential prenup challenge, TMZ reported, with Sam's attorney noting the actor-trainer "has yet to determine the full nature and extent of the separate property assets and obligations of each party" and that "There are various items of community and quasi-community assets and debts, the full nature and extent of which are unknown to [Sam] at this time."

Her crumbling marriage is just  one piece of the troubling puzzle involving the Princess of Pop. According to a February TMZ  report, those close to Britney  felt an intervention was direly needed  because people around her had become deeply alarmed by what TMZ described as "her erratic, volatile behavior." A source told the webloid that the singer was taking medications that "hype her up" — but not taking the medications that stabilize her — and that she'd been "flying off the handle" with increasing regularity. But an intervention was suddenly scrapped, TMZ reported, after Britney caught wind of it. "I'm afraid she's gonna die," one source in regular contact with Britney told TMZ at the time.

'Fast & Furious' star sues The Home Depot for $450M for discriminating against him

Singer-actor Tyrese Gibson is accusing The Home Depot of discrimination and racial profiling after an incident in February that occurred at one of the brand's California stores.

avatar press tour dolphins

On Aug. 9, the "Fast & Furious" franchise star and two other plaintiffs — Eric Mora and Manuel Hernandez, craftsmen who've provided construction services to the singer-actor — filed a lawsuit claiming "outrageous discriminatory mistreatment and consumer racial profiling" at a Home Depot in West Hills, California, on Feb. 11, 2023.

NBC News reported that in the complaint, Tyrese says he, Eric and Manuel went to The Home Depot together to buy some materials for a project they were doing at his home. A cashier allegedly took 20 minutes to ring up the items. Meanwhile, other shoppers began recognizing and approaching the actor, prompting him to wait in his vehicle to prevent a disturbance. Before he went outside, Tyrese told the cashier that the craftsmen with him would complete the sale on his behalf. The suit claims Eric and Manuel were not allowed to do so, which led Tyrese to come back inside to show ID so they could finish the transaction. He asked to speak to a manager, who allegedly refused.

avatar press tour dolphins

"The actions of the cashier and manager were discriminatory based on race and origin," the complaint states. "There is no other plausible explanation for the mistreatment of Plaintiffs. The transaction was refused, despite Gibson's repeated authorizations, because of Plaintiffs' skin color and, in the case of Mora and Hernandez, also because of their national origin."

The suit calls the "humiliating and demeaning" interaction "a clear and deplorable instance of discriminatory mistreatment and consumer racial profiling" and further alleges that The Home Depot has "doubled down, lawyered-up" instead of holding itself accountable for what transpired. In short, The Home Depot "invited this civil rights lawsuit," the complaint further alleges. "This is the absolute height of hypocrisy for a company that disingenuously promotes itself to the world as 'an environment of mutual respect that is free of harassment and discrimination.'"

According to court documents, the three plaintiffs are seeking more than $1 million in damages, which Entertainment Weekly reported is how much Tyrese estimates he's spent at The Home Depot over the years, plus statutory damages, attorney's fees, punitive damages, a declaratory judgment confirming that The Home Depot's actions violated California's Unruh Civil Rights Act, pre-judgment and post-judgment interest and also "such other relief as the Court may deem just and proper."

avatar press tour dolphins

The actor's team released a statement on his Instagram page on Aug. 11 alongside a video of Tyrese speaking to The Home Depot staff inquiring about their policies. According to the social media post, they're seeking a total of $450 million in damages.

"Craftsmen Eric Mora and Manuel Hernandez are an integral part of my team and have made significant contributions to my visions for over a decade. Together, we ardently uphold our commitments to civil rights, promoting empathy, and understanding," the statement began. It continued, "The Home Depot, we envision a world free from discriminatory practices and consumer racial profiling. Just as I have done for the past 20-plus years, I pledge to continue to utilize my platform to empower the voiceless, fostering a spirit of unity and hope, while illuminating our shared path forward."

The Home Depot claims they've tried to address what happened: "Diversity and respect for all people are core to who we are, and we do not tolerate discrimination in any form," a company spokesperson told Today.com in a statement on Aug. 11. "We value Mr. Gibson as a customer, and in the months since this happened, we've reached out to him and his attorneys several times to try to resolve his concerns. We will continue to do so."

TV star leaves ESPN after settling lawsuit over Obama race and COVID vaccine comments

After 16 years, Sage Steele has left ESPN so that she can exercise her First Amendment rights "more freely," the broadcaster said. The ex-"SportsCenter" host and her former company both confirmed the news on Aug. 15.

avatar press tour dolphins

"Life update. Having successfully settled my case with ESPN/Disney, I have decided to leave so I can exercise my first amendment rights more freely. I am grateful for so many wonderful experiences over the past 16 years and am excited for my next chapter!" she shared on social media.

In a statement, ESPN said the company and Sage "mutually agreed to part ways," adding, "We thank her for her many contributions over the years."

The announcement comes after Sage settled a lawsuit with the company that she filed in 2022. In that suit, she claimed ESPN violated her First Amendment rights as well as Connecticut free-speech laws when she was suspended over public comments she made about the network's COVID vaccine policy and former President Barack Obama's racial identity.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Sage Steele (@sagesteele)

It all began when Sage was a guest on a September 2021 episode of the "Uncut With Jay Cutler" podcast. She said she'd just been vaccinated against the coronavirus but called ESPN and parent company The Walt Disney Co.'s corporate vaccine mandate "sick" and "scary to me in many ways."

She also shared on the podcast that she felt late TV journalist Barbara Walters had belittled her for identifying as biracial. (Sage's father is Gary Steele, the first Black football player at U.S. Military Academy West Point, and mother is Mona Steele, who is white.)

Sage said that after the founder of "The View" asked her what race she'd choose on the census and she responded, "well, both," Barbara made a comment about Barack choosing Black. "And I'm like, well, congratulations to the president," Sage said on the podcast. "That's his thing. I think that's fascinating considering his Black dad was nowhere to be found but his white mom and grandma raised him. But hey, you do you. I'm going to do me."

avatar press tour dolphins

In the wake of her podcast comments, ESPN took her off the air for 10 days and pulled her from several big assignments at the network. "At ESPN, we embrace different points of view — dialogue and discussion makes this place great," the company said in a statement. "That said, we expect that those points of view be expressed respectfully, in a manner consistent with our values, and in line with our internal policies."

Sage issued an apology, saying in a statement, "I know my recent comments created controversy for the company, and I apologize. We are in the midst of an extremely challenging time that impacts all of us, and it's more critical than ever that we communicate constructively and thoughtfully."

In her lawsuit, which was filed in 2022, her lawyers accused ESPN of relying "on the misleading characterizations of her comments" and said her employer "forced her to apologize, allowed media to destroy her, and let media reports that she had been suspended go unchallenged, and allowed Steele's colleagues to defame her in violation of company policy without so much as a reprimand."

The Associated Press reported that in June 2023, court documents showed that ESPN offered to settle Sage's claims for $501,000.00 plus reasonable attorney's fees and costs. Details on their settlement terms, however, were not made public when Sage and the company announced they'd parted ways in August.

James Cameron slammed for holding Avatar 2 press conference at a dolphin show

James Cameron slammed for holding Avatar 2 press conference at a dolphin show

The director and actors were seen watching a group of dolphins perform in a pool.

Dominic Smithers

James Cameron has been criticised for holding a press conference for Avatar: The Way of Water at a dolphin show.

The famed director took part in the event at an animal centre in Tokyo, as part of the Japanese leg of the promotional tour for the new movie.

Sitting beside Zoe Saldaña, Sam Worthington , Sigourney Weaver, and Stephen Lang and Jon Landau, the 68-year-old watched as dolphins performed in the pool below.

Introducing the show, Cameron said, 'Welcome to Pandora', referencing the fictional world he created in the film franchise .

In footage from the event, the dolphins, who were brought into the pool by their trainers, are seen performing tricks, with the actors looking on.

James Cameron took part in a press conference at a dolphin show.

Following the show, Cameron, who is a vegan , joked: "I love these animals, I love their intelligence. I love their sociability, their ability to connect with us and to interact with us and learn from us.

"And I'm sure everybody asked their permission to be in the show."

However, the writer has now come in for some criticism from animal rights activists , who say that he should not have held the press conference at the dolphin show.

Speaking to Plant Based News, a spokesperson for PETA said they were disappointed by Cameron's actions.

They said : "James Cameron waited 13 years for the development of the right technology to bring the underwater world of Pandora to life.

"So why on Earth didn't he pause for just five minutes to consider whether he should have allowed himself to be seen as endorsing the cruelty of marine parks?'

"Confining far-ranging dolphins to concrete tanks and using them as surfboards – riding on their faces in circus-style shows – is something the villains of Avatar would do.

"PETA urges him to reject such animal misery outright and encourages everyone to shun these cruel parks."

Another activist added: "James Cameron, as a high profile environmentalist, should never associate himself with the captivity of dolphins.

"Dolphin shows are cruel, not conservation."

UNILAD has contacted James Cameron's representatives for comment.

Avatar: The Way of Water is set to be released on 16 December.

They did it on porpoise.

It took 13 years to make “Avatar: The Way of Water” and mere minutes for animal lovers to get upset about a stunt involving live, captive dolphins at the Japan premiere Saturday, Yahoo News reported.

Director James Cameron and actors Zoe Saldaña, Sam Worthington and Sigourney Weaver attended the Tokyo event, which featured dolphins performing tricks in a pool to orchestral music.

“I’m sure everybody asked their permission to be in the show,” joked Cameron in a video of the affair . “I love these animals, I love their intelligence.”

Dolphin fans expressed varying degrees of “heartbreak” and “anger” over the spectacle. Some even threatened to boycott the film entirely.

After 13 years of working on "Avatar 2: Th Way of Water," the film finally premiered Saturday in Japan but was immediately sent up the creek without a paddle over a stunt that involved live, captive dolphins.

“I would love to see James Cameron pledge to never attend a dolphin show ever again and to denounce the cruel capture and slaughter of dolphins happening in Taiji, [Japan],” activist Bailey Mason urged in an Instagram.

The Post reached out to Cameron, 68, for comment.

Animal welfare activists say they initially believed the mammals were digitally produced because Cameron is vegan , and he creates movies with strong environmental messaging.

Lisa Lange, senior vice president of communications for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals , said she thought the dolphins were animatronics, or some kind of “movie magic” was used — but the more she watched, the more she realized they were real.

“To see James Cameron, Sigourney Weaver and Sam Worthington sitting there applauding was shocking,” Lange told Yahoo News. “The trainers were treating those dolphins like circus clowns. They were riding on the noses of the dolphins, I mean, that’s as bad as it gets.”

The dolphins -- which was part of the event attended by director James Cameron as well as actors Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington and Sigourney Weaver -- swam around a large pool and performed tricks to orchestral music.

Ric O’Barry, who was featured in the Oscar-winning documentary “The Cove” — which explored the horrors of the Japanese dolphin industry — called the promotional performance “crazy.”

O’Barry trained dolphins for the 1960s television show “Flipper” before quitting and advocating against dolphin captivity.

The World Animal Protection group said the stunt was “confoundingly out of step” with Cameron’s reputation.

“Captive dolphins are confined to a tiny, barren, artificial environment 200 thousand times smaller than their natural habitat. They endure severe suffering and distress and live much shorter lives on average than their wild counterparts,” US programs director Cameron Harsh said in a statement.

“Avatar: The Way of Water,” meanwhile, continues to make waves at the box office. The film earned $15.8 million in 15 overseas markets on its opening day, far surpassing the original “Avatar” and “Top Gun: Maverick,” reported Variety .

James cameron angers animal activists with dolphin show at 'avatar 2' promo, james cameron in hot water with animal activists for 'avatar 2' live dolphin show.

James Cameron 's pissing off animal welfare activists by promoting his ocean-themed epic, "Avatar: The Way of Water," with a dolphin show many see as, at least ironic, and definitely cruel.

The director sat alongside stars Zoe Saldaña , Sam Worthington , Sigourney Weaver and others in Japan to promote the much-anticipated sequel -- he kicked off the press conference by saying, "Welcome to Pandora" ... and then the controversial show began.

The dolphins in a tank performed tricks with the help of trainers ... and as the conference continued, Cameron mentioned how much he loved a dolphin's intelligence and sociability ... before joking, "I'm sure everybody asked their permission to be in the show."

That joke did not land with animal activist groups like PETA -- because its spokesperson told Plant Based News , "Why on Earth didn't [Cameron] pause for just five minutes to consider whether he should have allowed himself to be seen as endorsing the cruelty of marine parks?"

Shockingly, Cameron's been an animal advocate for years ... he says he's been a vegan for a decade, and even produced a documentary alongside the director of the 2009 flick, "The Cove," the Oscar-winning animal rights film that exposed the cruelty of dolphin hunting in Japan, of all places.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

Even "The Cove" director, Richard O'Barry , is calling out Cameron for his hypocrisy in using captive dolphins to promote a film whose central plot is about conserving ocean resources.

A little more CGI could've gone a long way in helping James dodge this bullet.

Dolphins perform in front of the Avatar cast (Maxell Aqua Park Shinagawa)

Last Updated on December 17, 2022 by Steve Weinman

Film director James Cameron, long associated with a deep devotion to the ocean, appears to have chosen to risk alienating conservationist cinema-goers – by introducing an Avatar: The Way Of Water press conference in Japan with a captive dolphin performance.

The film director appeared poolside on 10 December along with stars of his new movie Sigourney Weaver, Zoe Saldaña, Sam Worthington and Stephen Lang at the Maxell Aqua Park Shinagawa aquarium in Tokyo. The facility is not only a dolphinarium but holds 18,000 animals of 450 species.

After Cameron had welcomed the assembled Japanese press “to Pandora”, the name of the fictional planet on which the Avatar movies are based, six dolphins performed an interactive show with two of their trainers.

Cameron, the actors and Avatar producer Jon Landau were seen applauding as trainers rode on the dolphins’ backs and beaks. After the show, the director was quoted as saying: “I love these animals, I love their intelligence. I love their sociability, their ability to connect with us and to interact with us and learn from us. And I’m sure everybody asked their permission to be in the show! ”

Avatar team (Maxell Aqua Park Shinagawa)

Marine conservationists have described the publicity stunt as a “mis-step”, pointing out that in 2009 Cameron had produced a documentary alongside the director of The Cove to highlight the cruelty of dolphin-hunting in Japan, whether it ends in death or captivity.

UK-based charity the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) Foundation, which in 2010 awarded Cameron a “Proggy” for outstanding feature film for the original Avatar , condemned the director’s decision to promote the sequel through a dolphin show of the sort that has been banned in many countries, including the UK and some US states.

“James Cameron waited 13 years for the development of the right technology to bring the underwater world of Pandora to life, so why on Earth didn’t he pause for just five lousy minutes to consider whether he should have allowed himself to be seen as endorsing the cruelty of marine parks?” asked PETA’s US Senior Vice President Lisa Lange.

“Confining far-ranging dolphins to concrete tanks and using them as surfboards – riding on their faces in circus-style shows – is something the villains of Avatar would do, and PETA urges him to reject such animal misery outright and encourages everyone to shun these cruel parks.”

Avatar: The Way of Water was released in UK cinemas yesterday (16 December), with an in-depth feature about the diving involved in making the movie appearing on Divernet . Walt Disney Studios has been approached for comment.

That Disney, Avatar 2’s distributer, is a member of the Alliance of Marine Mammal Parks and Aquariums, might have something to do with it. Whether or not it does, James Cameron should release a public statement of regret for having attended and praised the dolphin show if he wants to try to redeem himself for it.

‘Vegan’ Filmmaker James Cameron, attends dolphin show to promote Avatar 2, faces backlash

avatar press tour dolphins

VeganFirstDaily

December 16th, 2022

Some of the most intelligent creatures on the planet are dolphins, which are sea mammals. They are the centre of attention in the majority of marine animal presentations in aquariums, oceanariums, zoos, and theme parks thanks to their impressive abilities. Visitors attend such shows to watch dolphins swim or be fed at the dolphinarium, while some watch them act in the performances. Many individuals, however, are against keeping these intelligent animals in captivity as they plead for their freedom. They are suffering a lot more than we might imagine and this is precisely why vegan filmmaker James Cameron of Avatar fame has been facing brickbats lately.

James Cameron, who became vegan 10 years ago, has caused controversy after going to a "dolphin show" as part of the Avatar: The Way of Water marketing tour. The filmmaker had previously been a strong member of the vegan community. Read on for a deeper insight into the incident.

James Cameron and Avatar: The Way of Water Cast attend a dolphin show

Along with the actors Jon Landau, Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, and Stephen Lang, the filmmaker was promoting the new movie in Tokyo, Japan. They all attended a marine park show with an Avatar theme as part of the press conference. "Welcome to Pandora," Cameron said to begin the event (referring to the fictional world the movies are set in). Several dolphins performed "tricks" during the presentation, and one even made an appearance dancing alongside a trainer.

However, dolphins kept as pets reside in little tanks. It's crucial to realise that dolphins can cover great distances in the waters (some species up to 200 kilometres a day). Dolphinarium critics contend that visitors learn little about dolphins and only pay attention to the show, which has little to do with the dolphins' daily lives in the ocean. This issue is comparable to that faced by other domesticated animals in circuses.

The widespread backlash

The director's choice to attend the show has drawn criticism from the animal rights organisation PETA. PETA US Senior Vice President Lisa Lange said: “James Cameron waited 13 years for the development of the right technology to bring the underwater world of Pandora to life. So why on Earth didn’t he pause for just five minutes to consider whether he should have allowed himself to be seen as endorsing the cruelty of marine parks? Confining far-ranging dolphins to concrete tanks and using them as surfboards – riding on their faces in circus-style shows – is something the villains of Avatar would do. PETA urges him to reject such animal misery outright and encourages everyone to shun these cruel parks.”

avatar press tour dolphins

Few people are aware of that fact that many dolphins are killed and injured as a result of dolphin hunting. Dolphins who don't meet the aesthetic standards of dolphinariums frequently die. In nations like Japan, activists are seeking to end dolphin hunting. But if you take a closer look at these mammals, you shall see that due to their high intelligence and capacity for a wide range of emotions, dolphins often experience despair when they are away from their families and other social groupings. Moreover, dolphins kept in captivity eventually lose several abilities needed for ocean survival, such as hunting.

When in their natural habitat, wild dolphins fight among themselves when there’s conflict, and some leave the group. In captivity, dolphins can experience violence from other dolphins that in the wild they might avoid by breaking away from the pack!

Cameron’s justification of his move

Cameron appeared to assert that the dolphins themselves agreed to join in the presentation after everyone had applauded it. He explained, “I love these animals, I love their intelligence. I love their sociability, their ability to connect with us and to interact with us and learn from us. And I’m sure everybody asked their permission to be in the show.”

Notable personalities share their take on the controversy

Furthermore, Bailey Mason, an activist, criticised the director. Mason said, “James Cameron, as a high-profile environmentalist, should never associate himself with the captivity of dolphins. Dolphin shows are cruel, not conservation.”

Parul Chheda, the Vice President Strategic Alliances at CoreStack shared her two cents on the controversy. “Having conviction and standing by it, no matter what, is a critical trait of a leader-Leadership 101. A disastrous show of leadership by Mr. Cameron with this PR tour where captive dolphins show was put up. Ironically, the movie emphasizes respect for oceanic world. For those who don't know the brutality that is rendered upon Cetaceans who are used in such shows, please google Taiji or watch the documentary movie "The Cove". With power comes responsibility where INTEGRITY is at the core." Mr. Cameron has sadly lost a big chunk of his fan club with this contradictory action.”

avatar press tour dolphins

Can James Cameron be considered truly vegan?

In 2012, Cameron made the switch to a plant-based diet. He recently said that, in light of his conviction that this is the diet of the future, he now refers to himself as a "futurevore" as opposed to a vegan. The director has always been a vocal supporter of animals, so the video might surprise the vegan community. Even the 2009 animal rights film The Cove, which examines the Taiji dolphin hunt in Japan, was a product of his work. The dolphins that are killed during this hunt are frequently sold to marine parks like the one he visited. Moreover, the Game Changers, a 2018 Netflix film that examined the advantages of a vegan diet, was also executive produced by Cameron.

However, dolphin shows use animals for entertainment, thus going to one isn't regarded as being in line with a vegan lifestyle.

James Cameron angers animal welfare activists over Avatar dolphin show

  • by FactsTalky
  • December 19, 2022

Avatar Director James Cameron

Veteran director James Cameron is usually regarded as one to evade controversy. That seems to have changed now.

Press Tour In Japan

Cameron and his Avatar 2 cast comprising Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington travelled to Japan to promote the Avatar sequel. Avatar 2: The Way of Water has finally hit theatres, 13 years since ‘Avatar’ first released in 2009.

To promote the ocean-themed movie, James Cameron and the cast were at a dolphin show in Japan. Cameron can be seen saying “ welcome to Pandora ” to officially flag off the dolphin show.

Controversy Escalates

Before the show, Cameron joked that the dolphins partaking in the show surely consented to it. “ I’m sure everybody asked their permission to be in the show .” This did not sit well with animal welfare activists and groups. Additionally, the dolphins were forced to perform and even had performers stand on their face. Nothing natural about any of this.

Dolphin shows are known to exhibit animal cruelty and hold dolphins captive. Dolphins who ideally deserve to be roaming the free seas of the world. Many lashed out at James Cameron for actively contributing to this inhumane practice. Especially, since the very foundational pillar of the Avatar films revolve around animal and marine conservation . Many fans were left disappointed at the abandonment of moral values and care of oceanic welfare at the cost of a few cheap tricks.

Double-faced James Cameron?

What makes matters worse is the fact that James Cameron himself has been an advocate for animal rights for numerous years. He made changes in his own life-style by becoming vegan as well. Furthermore, Cameron produced the 2009 Oscar-winning documentary ‘ The Cove ’. The Cove ironically touched upon the harsh reality of dolphin hunting in… Japan . Hypocritical to say the least.

“Avatar 2” talks about environment protection, yet abuses dolphins in its promotion?

Despite calling for the protection of the marine ecosystem, “avatar 2” comes under fire for a recent “dolphin show”..

On December 10th, the team of “ Avatar: The Way of Water ” (“Avatar 2”), including director James Cameron and actors Zoe Saldaña, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, and Stephen Lang, watched a dolphin show prior to the film’s press conference, which was held at Maxwell Aqua Park Shinagawa in Tokyo, Japan. In the show, the keepers climbed on the dolphins’ beaks, jumped, and stomped on the dolphins as if riding a jet ski, spinning on the water. In addition, the dolphins jumped up all at once to the music and moved in perfect order.

avatar 2 thumbnail

At the end of the show, director James Cameron and the actors applauded. James Cameron was asked about his feelings about the dolphin show, to which he said, “I love these animals, I love their intelligence” . He also added that he loved the dolphins’ ability to communicate with humans and even joked that the people asked the dolphins for “their permission to be in the show”. Finally, he expressed the wish to be in the show, and that he’d love to ride a dolphin.

Such words and actions are extremely ironic, seeing that James Cameron often called for the protection of the environment and animals. While the event was organized by The Walt Disney Company Japan and James Cameron was making a joke, his remark was problematic. Dolphin fans and environmentalists also expressed their disappointment, shaking their heads at the director’s mistake.

James Cameron

In addition, Walt Disney Company Japan’s promotion direction has gone wrong. Planning a dolphin show along with the promotion of “Avatar 2”, which contains the message criticizing humans for destroying the marine ecosystem, is more of a disaster than just a lack of movie-making understanding. All branches will proceed with the promotion after receiving confirmation from the headquarters, which is Walt Disney’s company-wide communication problem and business setback.

Regardless of the reason, this controversy has left a painful stain on the reputation of “Avatar 2”. It is such an irony when the main character actors of “Avatar 2”, who accuse humans of killing marine life through their work, casually applauded at the dolphin show, which forces dolphins that are raised in small aquariums to move like machines. The sincerity of James Cameron, who voiced for environment and animal protection, also went in vain.

avatar 2

However, director James Cameron of “Avatar 2” has not released any position regarding this issue.

Despite the controversy, “Avatar 2” team is still eagerly promoting its movie by releasing promotional content and achieving 2 million viewers on the 5th day of its release. According to reports as of 7 a.m. on December 18th, “Avatar 2” succeeded in attracting 2,414,554 moviegoers. In this regard, “Avatar 2” production team said, “We achieved this box office success faster than the previous film ‘Avatar’, which surpassed 2 million admissions after 6 days. This has revitalized the sluggish performance of the cinema industry and showed the power of a movie that raised high expectations from people all around the world”.

While watching the dolphin show, “Avatar 2” team clapped enthusiastically. James Cameron even made a slip of the tongue, saying “I want to join this show. I want to ride a dolphin” . However, the controversy is being overshadowed by the promotion of “Avatar 2”, which is focusing on the achievement of hitting 2 million viewers faster than the previous film. This makes netizens raise doubts about the message of “Avatar 2”, which is “Mankind must take the lead in protecting nature and animals”.
