It offers a generous welcome bonus, high earn rate on dining, groceries, and Expedia bookings, making it a valuable option for frequent travelers. However, if you're looking for more premium travel perks like airport lounge access, consider other cards in the market, including TD's Aeroplan® Visa Infinite Privilege*

How to earn TD Rewards points with the RTD® Platinum Travel Visa

The TD Platinum Travel Visa Card offers an impressive earning rate on several keys categories:

  • Earn 6 TD Rewards points for every $1 spent when you book travel through Expedia for TD
  • Earn 4.5 TD Rewards Points for every $1 spent on groceries and dining out
  • Earn 3 TD Rewards Points for every $1 spent on recurring bill payments
  • Earn 1.5 TD Rewards points for every $1 spent on everything else

How to redeem points

The average dollar value of one TD Reward point is $0.005. To make this math easier, let’s crank up the points.

The best way to redeem your points is by travelling through Expedia for TD portal, where 200 points equal 1 dollar.

You can also book travel through any provider where the value goes down a little for the first $1,200 in spending—250 TD Rewards points are worth $1. Redeeming merchandise is not as valuable, where, depending on the retailer, you’ll get, at best, half and at worth a tenth of the value out of your points.

You can also apply your points as a statement credit if you’re trying to pay down a balance.

Key Benefits of the TD Rewards Card

  • Expedia benefits: If you frequently book through Expedia, this card offers one of the best rewards rates for your bookings.
  • Dining and groceries: Earn a high rate of 4.5 points for every dollar spent at restaurants and grocery stores, making your night out on the town or grocery run even more rewarding.
  • Travel insurance: The card includes decent travel insurance coverage, ensuring peace of mind during your travels. However, you can upgrade your coverage for an additional fee to unlock emergency medical insurance.

TD Rewards Visa credit card insurance coverage

The Platinum Travel Visa credit card from TD provides an impressive selection of travel insurance and everyday protection benefits for cardholders, including:

  • Flight delay insurance of up to $500 if your trip is delayed more than 4 hours.
  • Delayed and lost baggage insurance up to $1,000 per insurance person if delayed more than 6 hours.
  • Travel accident insurance up to $500,000 (while travelling on a common carrier like a plane, train, or bus).
  • Rental car insurance for up to 48 consecutive days up to a maximum MSRP of $65,000.
  • Mobile device insurance up to $1,000 in the event of loss, theft, or accidental damage.
  • Extended warranty insurance that doubles the manufacturer’s warranty up to an additional 12 months.
  • Hotel burglary insurance up to $2,500.
  • [Optional] Apply for travel medical insurance in case of medical emergencies abroad.
  • [Optional] Apply for Trip cancellation insurance to help recover trip expenses or the cost of a trip home.
  • [Optional] Apply for TD Auto Club Membership for roadside emergencies.

Rewards Visa cardholders also receive peace of mind thanks to instant fraud alerts; TD Fraud Alerts continuously monitors your TD account registered mobile phone and automatically alerts you if suspicious activity is suspected.

Extra Benefits of the TD Bank Platinum Travel Visa* credit card

  • Additional rental car savings: At Avis and Budget locations, you can save a minimum of 10% off the lowest base rate fares in Canada and 5% in the U.S.
  • No restrictions: There are no travel blackouts or seat restrictions, and your TD Rewards Points never expire as long as your account is open and in good standing.
  • Earn more stars at Starbucks:  Link the TD Rewards card to your Starbucks account and earn 50% more TD Rewards points and Stars.
  • Mobile wallet compatibility: Use Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay wherever contactless payments are accepted.
  • TD mobile app: The app allows you to manage your account, view transactions, block international purchases, and more. It's available in the Apple App Store and Google Play.

How does the TD Platinum Travel Visa* Compare?

Td platinum travel visa* vs. td first class travel ® visa infinite* card.

The TD Platinum Travel Visa* Card and the TD First Class Travel ® Visa Infinite* Card are both tailored for travel enthusiasts, but they cater to slightly different needs. While any card you choose ultimately depends on your individual travel and spending habits, the TD First Class Travel ® Visa Infinite* card shines with better earn rates and insurance (including emergency medical).

Yes, the TD First Class Travel ® Visa Infinite* charges $50 more in its annual fee, but just like the TD Platinum Travel Visa Card, that fee is waived in the first year. Also, the First Class card gives you an annual TD Travel Credit of $100 with Expedia For TD.

For frequent travellers, especially those who prefer to book through Expedia, the TD First Class Travel® Visa Infinite* Card offers more value and benefits.

TD Platinum Travel Visa* Card vs. TD Aeroplan ® Visa Platinum Card

Both cards charge the same annual fee which are both waived in the first year. They both feature the same travel insurance (and sadly both miss emergency medical travel insurance), purchase security, extended warranty and mobile device insurance.

These cards are virtually identical, except for one crucial difference: the points.

You either earn TD Rewards Points or Aeroplan ® points. With TD, you can book your travel through Expedia or use the “book-any-way” redemption method which reduces your point value, but you can fly anywhere on any airline. With TD’s Aeroplan ® card, you get Aeroplan ® points allowing you to book with Air Canada and its partner airlines.

Essentially, if you bank with TD and love their rewards program, be sure to take advantage of bundle discounts on their chequing, saving, insurance and mortgage. If you’re not loyal to a bank, and love the Aeroplan ® program, go with the TD Aeroplan ® Visa Platinum.

Is the TD® Platinum Travel Visa credit card worth it?

The TD Platinum Travel Visa* Card is best suited for those who frequently use Expedia for their travel bookings. With its generous welcome bonus, high earn rate on dining, groceries, and Expedia bookings, it offers significant value. However, if you're looking for more comprehensive travel perks, there might be other cards in the market that better suit your needs. The biggest benefits of this card are its earn rate and flexibility in point redemption. The main drawback is the lack of premium travel perks like airport lounge access.

Eligibility requirements of the Rewards Visa credit card from TD Bank

To qualify for the TD Platinum Travel Visa* Card, you need to meet the following criteria:

  • You must be a Canadian resident.
  • You must be at least the age of majority in your province or territory.

Is the TD Platinum Travel Visa* worth it?

The TD Platinum Travel Visa* Card offers value for frequent Expedia users with its high earn rate on bookings, dining and groceries. Its comprehensive travel insurance and flexible point redemption enhance its appeal. However, its worth depends on individual spending habits and the annual fee's perceived value.

Is the first-year annual fee really waived for the TD Platinum Travel Visa* Card?

Yes, the TD Platinum Travel Visa* Card often offers promotions where the annual fee is waived for the first year, providing immediate savings for new cardholders.

How do I earn the maximum welcome bonus for the TD Platinum Travel Visa* Card?

To earn the maximum welcome bonus, you have to make a purchase within the first 90 days of activating the card, plus spend at least $1,000 in that same time period.

How does the TD Platinum Travel Visa* Card's rewards program benefit frequent Expedia customers?

The card offers a higher earn rate for travel bookings made through ExpediaForTD.com, groceries and recurring bill payments allowing frequent Expedia users to accumulate TD Points faster.

Aeroplan vs. Air Miles: Differences and Alternatives

Aeroplan is usually an ideal choice for those who want to use points for Air Canada flights, while Air Miles is a better choice for those who want flexible point redemption options.

12 Best TD Bank Credit Cards in Canada for 2024

12 Best TD Bank Credit Cards in Canada for 2024

The best TD Bank credit cards in Canada include several Visa Infinite options as well as co-branded travel credit cards that earn Aeroplan points.

Money We Have

  • $89 annual fee – First year free
  • 10,000 Aeroplan points after your first purchase
  • 10,000 points when spending $1,000 in the first 90 days
  • Earn 1 Aeroplan points per $1 spent on gas, groceries, and Air Canada purchases
  • Earn 1 Aeroplan point per $1.50 on all other purchases

Welcome bonus and earn rate

The welcome bonus for the TD Aeroplan Visa Platinum has consistently been 20,000 Aeroplan points. You get 10,000 Aeroplan points after your first purchase and another 10,000 points when you spend $1,000 in the first 90 days of cardmembership. That welcome bonus can easily have a value of up to $200.

The regular earn rate on the TD Aeroplan Visa Platinum is 1 Aeroplan point per dollar spent on gas, groceries, and purchases made with Air Canada, including Air Canada Vacations. All other purchases earn you 1 Aeroplan point per $1.50 spent. For an entry-level card, that’s not bad.

Benefits and perks

Unlike the other TD Aeroplan credit cards, you don’t get any Air Canada benefits. That said, you do get some basic travel insurance (not medical or trip cancellation), purchase security, extended warranty protection and mobile device insurance.

Earn 50% more Aeroplan points at Starbucks

When you link your TD Aeroplan Visa Platinum Card to your Starbucks Rewards account, you’ll earn 50% more Stars and Aeroplan points. This is in addition to the Aeroplan points you’ll earn when paying for your purchase. If you’re new to Starbucks Rewards, you’ll get 200 Bonus Stars when making a qualifying purchase within 7 days of joining.

Save with Avis and Budget Rent a Car

When renting a car at Avis Rent a Car and Budget Rent a Car locations in Canada and the U.S, you’ll save at least 10% on base rates when paying with your TD Aeroplan Visa Platinum Card. International locations offer a minimum of 5% off base rates.

TD Aeroplan Visa Platinum travel insurance

  • Flight/trip delay – up to $500 / 4 hours
  • Delayed and lost baggage – up to $1,000 / 6 hours
  • Common carrier travel accident – $500,000
  • Hotel/motel burglary – $2,500
  • Auto rental collision/loss damage – 48 consecutive days / $65,000

Although the TD Aeroplan Visa Platinum Card comes with some decent extended travel insurance, it lacks travel medical insurance, which is very disappointing. That said, most entry-level travel cards don’t typically give you even this much insurance, so some would argue that this travel insurance package is great.

Mobile device insurance

When you charge the full cost of your mobile device (cellphone or tablet) to your TD Aeroplan Visa Platinum Card, you get mobile device insurance for up to $1,000. This insurance covers loss, theft, damage, or mechanical breakdown. If you’re getting your device on a subsidized plan, then you need to charge the full amount of your monthly bill to your card for your insurance to apply.

Purchase insurance

  • Purchase security – 90 days
  • Extended warranty – Up to one additional year

Purchase security protects your purchases from loss, theft, and damage for up to 90 days. As for the extended warranty, the manufacturer’s warranty for any of your purchases is doubled up to one additional year.

How to redeem your points

The TD Aeroplan Visa Platinum earns you Aeroplan points, so all your redemptions. Fortunately, you get a lot of options with Aeroplan since you can use your points for flights, hotels, car rentals, vacation packages and even cruises.

With Aeroplan, you can book any available seat on Air Canada with no blackout dates. Since Aeroplan flies to 1,300+ destinations and has more than 45 airline partners, you can get almost anywhere in the world on points. The downside of Aeroplan is that it uses dynamic pricing. That’s where the number of points required for a flight will change based on supply and demand. Obviously, more popular flights will cost you more points (or cash).

Generally, 1 Aeroplan point is typically worth 1.5 – 2 cents each. When looking up flight rewards, if you can find something in that range, it’s worth using your points. If the redemptions have a value below that threshold, you’re better off paying cash and saving your points.

TD Aeroplan Visa Platinum eligibility

  • You’re a Canadian resident
  • You’re the age of majority in the province or territory in which you reside

There is no minimum income requirement to be considered for this card. Although there’s also no posted credit score, it’s recommended that yours be at least 660 before applying for the card.

How the TD Aeroplan Visa Platinum compares

As an entry-level Aeroplan/travel credit card, the TD Aeroplan Visa Platinum Card has a lot of competition. That said, there are three other cards I recommend comparing to.

TD Aeroplan Visa Platinum vs. CIBC Aeroplan Visa Card

The closest competition to the TD Aeroplan Visa Platinum is th e CIBC Aeroplan Visa Card . Both cards have the exact same earning rate, but the CIBC card has no annual fee. That said, the TD card has a higher welcome bonus and comes with some travel insurance (no travel medical)

TD Aeroplan Visa Platinum vs. WestJet RBC Mastercard

It’s not exactly apples-to-apples, but you could also compare the TD Aeroplan Visa Platinum to the WestJet RBC Mastercard . The earning rate for the WestJet card is 1.5% back in WestJet dollars on WestJet flights or WestJet Vacations packages, and 1% on all other purchases. In addition, you get a free annual companion vouche r, starting at $199, which has a lot of value. If you fly WestJet more often than Air Canada, this may be a better choice.

TD Aeroplan Visa Platinum vs. American Express Green Card

When considering any no fee travel credit card, the American Express Green Card needs to be in the conversation. With this card, you earn a straight 1 American Express Membership Rewards point per dollar spent on all purchases, which is arguably a better earning rate than what the TD card offers. More importantly, you can redeem 1,000 points for a $10 statement credit or you can transfer your points to Aeroplan at a 1:1 ratio. That means you can use your points for any type of travel booked or you can transfer them to Aeroplan when you find a good redemption.

Final thoughts

My TD Aeroplan Visa Platinum review is positive. This card is ideal for people in the following situations:

  • You want to earn Aeroplan points – You’ll earn Aeroplan points on almost all your purchases with this card.
  • You bank with TD – If you have an All-Inclusive Banking Plan, you can get the annual fee for this card waived each year.
  • You don’t have a high income – There’s no minimum income requirement for this card.

Although you don’t get any Air Canada benefits with this card, you’ll earn Aeroplan points on all eligible purchases. Aeroplan is arguably the best travel rewards loyalty program in the country, so having a credit card that earns you Aeroplan points can help you save on travel in the future.

TD® Aeroplan® Visa Platinum* Card

td platinum travel visa aeroplan

Application must be approved by September 3, 2024 to receive this offer

Signup bonus:, annual fee:, interest rates:, earning rate:, perks & benefits:.

For those after benefits like preferred pricing on Air Canada ® Aeroplan redemptions, but don’t want to pay a high annual fee, the TD ® Aeroplan ® Visa Platinum * Card represents a solid option, with a decent welcome bonus to boot.

Bonuses & Fees

As TD’s entry-level Aeroplan co-branded credit card, the TD ® Aeroplan ® Visa Platinum * Card currently offers 20,000 Aeroplan points as a signup bonus, structured as follows:

  • 10,000 Aeroplan points upon first purchase †
  • 10,000 Aeroplan points upon spending $1,000 within 90 days of opening the account †

The annual fee of $89 is also rebated for the first year. † Note that in order to receive the first-year annual fee rebate, you must activate your card and make your first purchase on the account within the first three months after account opening, and you must add any additional cardholders by September 4, 2024.

That’s on the higher end of historical offers we’ve seen on this card, so now is a great time to apply.

As a lower-end Visa Platinum * product, this card’s annual fee is relatively affordable at $89. For this offer, the annual fee is rebated for the first year; otherwise, holding TD’s All-Inclusive Banking Plan can also waive the annual fee on this card on an ongoing basis.

If you choose to sign up for the card, take note that the annual fee for the first supplementary cardholder is also rebated for the first year, which is usually $39. †

To be eligible for this offer, you must apply and be approved for the card by September 3, 2024.

Earning Rewards

In terms of the returns on everyday spending, the TD ® Aeroplan ® Visa Platinum * Card offers cardholders the following:

  • 1 Aeroplan point † per dollar spent on eligible Air Canada ® , Air Canada Vacations ® , gas, and grocery purchases †
  • 1 Aeroplan point † for every $1.5 spent  on all other eligible purchases †

The TD ® Aeroplan ® Visa Platinum * Card is best-suited for those who are interested in collecting Aeroplan points while building up a relatively new credit file, or restricting themselves to lower annual fees and credit limits.

I wouldn’t recommend putting your daily spending on this card if you qualify for a card with a better earning rate; however, it’s a decent option to get in the door with Aeroplan and TD.

Redeeming Rewards

Aeroplan remains the program of choice for the vast majority of Canadians aiming to redeem their points for high-value international business class and First Class redemptions.

Redeeming Aeroplan points follows the Aeroplan Flight Reward Chart , and can cost as little as 55,000 points one-way from Vancouver to Tokyo in business class, for example.

From the East Coast, 60,000 Aeroplan points (or often fewer, thanks to Air Canada’s ® preferred pricing benefit if you hold Aeroplan Elite Status or a co-branded credit card ) would unlock a transatlantic flight to most parts of Western Europe.

Closer to home, short-haul flights within North America that are under 500 miles only cost as few as 6,000 Aeroplan points one-way.

With a few months of organic spending on top of the 20,000 points earned on this card, you’ll have the 25,000 points required to travel one-way in business class across the continent on routes such as Toronto – Vancouver or Montreal – Los Angeles.

td platinum travel visa aeroplan

Perks & Benefits

As an entry-level Aeroplan co-branded offering, the TD ® Aeroplan ® Visa Platinum * Card offers a limited set of Air Canada ® travel benefits, including:

  • Preferred pricing when redeeming Aeroplan points for Air Canada ® flights †
  • Your Aeroplan points won’t expire for as long as you’re a cardholder †

Insurance Coverage

As a basic card, the TD ® Aeroplan ® Visa Platinum * Card’s insurance proposition is also relatively weak. Some of the provisions that it does cover include:

  • Delayed and lost baggage insurance : $1000 overall coverage per insured person towards the purchase of essentials such as clothes and toiletries if your baggage is delayed more than 6 hours or lost. †
  • Flight/trip delay insurance: Up to $500 in coverage if your flight/trip is delayed more than 4 hours. †
  • Auto rental collision/loss damage insurance: Coverage for up to 48 consecutive days for cars with an MSRP of up to $65,000, which can help you save on the insurance fees that the car rental company would otherwise charge. †

It’s important to note that these benefits would also apply on Aeroplan reward tickets, as long as you charge the taxes and fees of your booking to your TD ® Aeroplan ® Visa Platinum * Card.

However, the card does not offer emergency medical insurance or trip cancellation & trip interruption insurance, which are two very significant benefits that you’ll find on many of the higher-end products out there.

Additionally, the card also offers Purchase Security and Extended Warranty Protection, covering most eligible items you’ve purchased with your card should they be stolen or damaged within 90 days of purchase, as well as a doubled warranty period compared to the manufacturer’s warranty.

Travel is one of the most popular categories for credit card redemption. From flights to hotels, all-inclusive vacation packages, and even car rentals, credit card points often go a long way when redeemed in this category.

This is especially true for co-branded credit cards or credit cards that have an arrangement with certain travel brands or platforms. While sometimes, these partnerships can be limiting, other times, they allow for some incredible deals available only to specific cardholders. This is the case with Expedia for TD, which is only available to TD credit card holders who collect TD rewards.

Expedia for TD is a rewards platform made exclusively for TD credit card holders whose cards earn TD rewards. The Expedia for TD platform allows those with access to redeem their points to book vacations, flights, hotels, cruises and more with special perks and benefits. It also allows users to earn points at a higher accelerated rate when booking travel on this platform.

How Does Expedia for TD Work?

Expedia for TD works similarly to the original Expedia travel platform that many Canadians already know and use. Like the main platform, Expedia for TD is a one-stop shop for all of their vacation and travel needs. Using this platform, eligible cardholders can book flights, hotels, cruises, car rentals and vacation packages. However, Expedia for TD goes beyond the original Expedia platform by allowing cardholders to earn TD Reward points at an accelerated rate.

 Partnership Benefits

The TD Expedia partnership dates back to 2011, when both brands partnered to create the TD for Expedia portal. The TD for Expedia portal allows users to book all of their vacation needs in one place with a few added member-only perks. These include the ability to earn points faster—users earn up to nine TD Rewards points for every dollar spent in travel purchases by phone or online through Expedia for TD. Additionally, some cardholders (those who have the TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite) will get an annual TD travel credit of $100 when they book travel through Expedia for TD. All eligible cardholders can redeem their TD Rewards to pay for all or some of their trip on the platform.

Navigating the Expedia for TD Platform

Since the Expedia for TD Platform is only for TD Rewards members, you will need to log in. To do so, you can use your existing TD online banking credentials.

Once logged in, you can click through the ‘redeem’ section and search for the destination or type of travel for which you wish to use your TD Rewards. When you find what you are looking for, you can book online via the portal or contact a customer representative by phone who will help you redeem your TD Rewards to book your trip.

TD Rewards is TD’s points program. Certain TD credit cards will earn you TD Rewards that can then be redeemed towards various items including travel from the TD Expedia portal as well as gift cards, merchandise and more.

Earning TD Rewards Points

To Earn TD Rewards points, you will need to hold a TD credit card that collects them. Once you have one of the credit cards, you can earn TD Rewards by using your card for your everyday shopping needs, both in person and online. Different credit cards have different earn rates for various purchase categories. To maximize earning TD Rewards points, be sure to choose the best TD Rewards credit card with the highest earn rates in the purchase categories that most fit your spending habits.

Redeeming TD Rewards Points

If you would like to redeem your TD Rewards towards travel via Expedia for TD, you can do so on the online portal or over the phone. Log into your account using your TD banking credentials and search for the travel deal you wish to purchase. Once you find what you want, you can choose the ‘redeem points’ option. It is up to you whether you would like to redeem all your points or just some of them towards your reward.

Expedia for TD is available to cardholders who have a TD credit card that collects TD Rewards. There are four credit cards that offer this.

TD Platinum Travel Visa* Card

The TD Platinum Travel Visa* Card allows cardholders to earn TD Rewards on everyday purchases and at an accelerated rate for multiple categories, including groceries and recurring bills. One of the biggest perks of the Expedia for TD portal is that you can use your TD Rewards to book all kinds of travel and are not limited by specific hotel brands or airlines.

Hotels and Accommodations

To redeem hotels or accommodations, choose the ‘stays’ tab and search for your desired location and dates, as well as how many guests and rooms you will need. You can use several different filters to find the best property for you and narrow down hotels based on location within the city, ratings, amenities and more. When you find the one you want, choose the option to redeem your points when booking.

Flight Bookings and Seat Restrictions

When searching for flights, click the flight tab and select your start and end destination as well as selected dates and the number of travellers. You can also choose one-way flights or multi-city as well as select the class you want to fly in (ie: economy or business). Once you hit search you can narrow down your options by choosing specific airlines and even the flight duration in terms of if it’s direct or how many stopovers. When you find the best option, choose redeem points when booking. There are no blackout dates or seat restrictions.

Car Rental Services

If you are looking to rent a car, click the cars tab. Enter the pick-up and drop-off point and the dates you want to rent. From there, you can filter based on the type of car and the car rental company as you compare. As with the other travel options, make sure to choose the option to redeem your points when it comes time to check out.

TD Rewards cardholders can also take advantage of the following perks and benefits:.

Travel Insurance Offerings

One of the big perks of travel credit cards is the insurance coverage that they come with. While insurance coverage varies by credit card, some of the insurance options included with TD Rewards cards include the following:

  • Travel medical insurance
  • Flight/trip delay insurance
  • Trip cancellation/interruption insurance
  • Common carrier accident insurance
  • Delayed/lost baggage insurance
  • Auto rental collision/ loss damage insurance
  • Hotel/motel burglary insurance

Be sure to check each card for specific insurance inclusions.

Exclusive Deals and Savings

TD Rewards cardholders can choose to redeem points to pay for some or all of their travel rewards. They will have 24/7 access to a dedicated TD for Expedia support team and can take advantage of Expedia’s Price Guarantee. Additionally, if you are a TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite cardholder, you will receive an annual $100 travel credit.

Non-Travel Redemption Options

It is worth noting that TD Rewards can be redeemed for other non-travel categories, including merchandise, gift cards and cash credit. TD Rewards can also be redeemed towards Amazon and Starbucks purchases.

Travel is expensive, and things don’t always go according to plan. That’s why  the following features are important:

Free Cancellation and Price Guarantee Features

When searching for hotels on Expedia for TD, you can filter your results to show properties that offer free cancellation, meaning you lose nothing if your plans change.

Furthermore, there is also an Expedia Price Guarantee for some Expedia purchases. This price guarantee states that Expedia will refund the difference if you find a cheaper flight and hotel package within 24 hours of booking. Expedia will also refund the difference if you have booked a hotel and find a cheaper rate up to 48 hours before check-in.

Reward Point Expiry Rules

TD Rewards points do not expire as long as you keep your account open and remain in good standing. So if you are saving for your dream vacation, don’t worry. Just keep on using your credit card correctly to collect points and save until you can reach your redemption goal.

While TD Rewards can be used for a variety of redemptions, including travel redemptions with other third-party companies, the best value for your TD Rewards is to book travel through Expedia for TD. You will need a minimum of 200 points to redeem your TD rewards towards travel on Expedia for TD, and each batch of 200 points is valued at a dollar. This means each TD Reward point is worth 0.5 cents when redeemed through Expedia for TD.

Optimizing Everyday Purchases

To maximize earning TD rewards, you will want to choose a credit card based on your purchase habits and take advantage of accelerated categories to earn TD Rewards faster.

Understanding the Rewards Earn Rate

As mentioned above, booking travel through the Expedia for TD portal has the highest redemption rate. However, your TD Rewards can be used for various other redemption options. Here’s a quick breakdown of the rewards earn rate so you can stretch your TD Rewards further.

To help make paying off and monitoring your TD credit card activity easier, TD Bank offers an app that allows you to manage your TD credit card online.

The TD App Experience

The TD app is available on iOS and Android devices and has relatively good reviews on both. From the Apple App Store, the TD App has 4.5/5 stars. On Google Play, it’s rated 3.8/5. The TD App is free to download and use. Reviews overall are positive for ease of use but there are some frustrations with updates, especially if they require an additional learning curve.

Expedia For TD is certainly worth it if you are a TD customer with one of the three TD credit cards that offer a high earn rate for TD Reward Points. Those points will go a long way when booking travel through the service. Even though it takes a large number of points for an entire trip paid with points, the option to pay for your trip partially with points and partially on your TD credit card is a welcome one and will get you a vacation through the Expedia For TD portal much faster. As with a lot of rewards credit cards, booking travel is the best use of your points, but the fact that the trip doesn’t have to be paid entirely with points and you’re not restricted by what airline you can take or what hotel brand you can book at, gives Expedia For TD that little extra flexibility that most credit card travel rewards programs just don’t have.

What can I book through Expedia For TD?

Expedia considers itself to be a one-stop-shop for travel and allows you to book everything from flights and hotels to vacation packages, cruises, trains and even car rentals through the TD for Expedia Platform.

Does Expedia For TD price match?

Expedia for TD does price match to an extent. According to Expedia’s price guarantee, if you find a cheaper flight and hotel package within 24 hours of booking or a cheaper hotel rate up to 48 hours before check-in, Expedia will refund the difference.

What other redemption options are there for the TD Rewards program?

In addition to Expedia for TD, TD rewards can also be redeemed for merchandise, gift cards, cash credit and for both Amazon and Starbucks purchases, as well as other travel purchases.

What’s the difference between Expedia.ca and Expedia For TD?

Expedia.ca and Expedia for TD both allow users to book a variety of different types of travel. The advantage of using Expedia for TD is that you can earn TD rewards at an accelerated rate, and TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite cardholders can earn a $100 travel credit.

Do TD points expire?

Your TD points will not expire if you keep your account open and remain in good standing.
