Unforgettable, Half-Day Yarra Valley Private Wine Tours

If you are looking for a short but equally enjoyable tour of the Yarra Valley, we offer half day tours. Sample some of the best locally produced food and wine while being surrounded by the Yarra Valley’s stunning views for a great day out. 

Our Yarra Valley private tours can be organised by our team or we can customise the day to suit you, please email us. We have the flexibility to change the itinerary during the tour. Our tours operate 7 days a week with pick up available anywhere anytime in Yarra Valley and Melbourne city area.

This is an example of what the day will look like but is subject to availability. Once the tour is booked in, we can confirm spots just please get in touch to do so.

11am Pick up City or 11.45am Pick up Yarra Valley (both timings can be flexible if needed)

12pm – Soumah wines is our first stop of the day. This is a charming small boutique cellar door with northern italian influence. Try wines you will not see anywhere else like Savarro. The backdrop of the vineyard is stunning and a great photo opportunity also. Try up to 5 wines here available for tastings.

1.15pm – First option - Boat o'craigo winery. Enjoy a casual atmosphere with excellent lunch and wines. Pizza and antipasto share style lunch with a glass of wine. https://www.boatocraigo.com.au/

Second option - Coldstream Brewery (we highly recommend) offer a pub style feed with options ranging from pizza to award winning parma's. As a part of our package we can also give you the option for one beverage of beer or cider. A glass of wine or the popular tasting paddle on offer. https://www.coldstreambrewery.com.au/

Third option - Steels Gate Wines offer a refined upper class lunch with sit down wine tasting and glass of estate wine to enjoy. A refined experience with premium dishes. https://steelsgate.com.au /

Two or three course options available at either lunch venue (additional courses at a fee).

We allow a 2 hour time slot for lunch, which is a comfortable time to spend with your group and not be rushed at all. Take your time and enjoy the views, wine, food and your day off :)

2.45pm - Punt road wines is our final stop of the day. Punt road is a lovely charming setting for a relaxed sit down tasting. Enjoy some olives and biscuit palate cleansers with your wine tasting. In 2023 they won the best Cabernet Sauv in the whole valley. Their wine range is of excellent quality ranging from Chardonnay to Pinot to Shiraz and more.This tasting will include at least 2 premium range wines.

Vinetrekker arranged an excellent tour of a mixture of established and newer wineries in the Yarra Valley. It was good to visit some hidden gems as well. Awesome tour. The company Vinetrekker was proactive and flexible with my pickup and drop off. The tour guide Shane was very friendly and knowledgeable about both the history of the area and wine. The other guests were also friendly which made the trip extra special. We visited a variety of traditional, modern, and edgy wineries for a wide variety of experiences. The landscapes were gorgeous and overall it was a fantastic way to spend a day outside Melbourne. Don’t miss it!

My partner and I had the best time on Paul’s wine tour. Paul was a great host, not only did he drive us from vineyard to vineyard but he knew a lot about the wines, the areas we were in and the different types of wine each vineyard had to offer – to our taste.

About the Yarra Valley wine region 

The Yarra Valley is Australia’s oldest and most respected wine region. Vines were first planted in the valley in 1838 by the Scottish Ryrie brothers, who established Yering Station, which is still operational today. The valley’s cool climate and fertile soils proved to be well-suited to grape growing, and by the late 19th century, the Yarra Valley was producing some of the finest wines in Australia.

The early 20th century saw a decline in the Yarra Valley’s wine industry due in part to the phylloxera epidemic that devastated vineyards around the world. However, the industry began to recover in the 1960s, and by the 1980s, the Yarra Valley was once again producing world-class wines.

Today, the Yarra Valley is home to over 60 wineries, producing a wide range of premium wines, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Shiraz. The valley is also a popular tourist destination, with many wineries offering tours and tastings.
