Ghost are, regardless of whether you're particularly into corpse painted, Satanic-inspired heavy metal, one band that you should not miss live. Their concerts are not simply events to watch but experiential, jaw-dropping journeys to embark upon, and here's why: The Swedish sextet, clad in black hooded gowns and pointed beard-masks (yes, this is a thing) are led by their singer, known as Papa Emeritus, who dons full skull make-up and the robes and hat of a Roman Catholic pope (aside from the upside-down crosses adorning them). As well as their appearances, the band add to the intoxicating atmosphere of their shows with a backdrop of faux stained glass windows, and burn incense to give the audience the impression of being in a church, about to undergo something more than simply watching a group of men play musical instruments on a stage. They achieve this by including the audience in their twisted act, for example during the song Body and Blood, scantily-clad women appeared at the front of the stage offering the 'Eucharist' of a goblet of blood (aka wine) to the lucky fans in the front row.
I saw Ghost at the Fillmore Silver Spring, shorty after the release of their highly anticipated second album, Infestissumam, and was, frankly, blown away by the quality of their live show. Their appearances and Satan-worshipping act are contrasted by the liveliness of their music, which while categorized as heavy or black metal, is definitely more riff and vocal-driven than most metal, with songs such as the single Monstrance Clock and even an amped-up cover of the Beatles' Here Comes The Sun as part of their catchy, dancable set.
Even if you are the biggest metal-phobe around, you should go see Ghost. If heavy metal is your jam, but you're really not into the whole make-up/ crazy outfit thing, you should go see Ghost. If you're a fan or the music but are undecided on paying for a ticket, you should most definitely go see Ghost. The entire experience is something intoxicatingly unforgettable, and you will not regret it!

The wife and I got into the game a bit late but Ghost is as much a part of our yearly plans as is eating, sleeping, and hydrating. We were fortunate to have caught their last two rituals in Sweden last year and were able to capture video of Papa III being pulled off stage during Monstrance Clock. We were so happy that we made the trip from the states because seeing the end of Papa III in videos is nothing compared to the excitement of seeing it in person, from the barrier, and right up front. This band is very exciting to watch and being able to share the experience with my wife has made our evenings with Ghost that much better. My wife met Papa III last year and we've had the opportunity to meet Cardinal Copia 3 times this year during the meet and greets in New York and Pittsburgh. We're looking forward to meeting him again 4 more times out of the 6 rituals we'll be attending in December. We also already have our tickets and vacation planned for the 2 upcoming rituals taking place in Sweden in February 2019. When they make their way back to the states in 2019, we will begin planning our schedules around their tour dates. Here's a short back story as to why they are so important to me. My wife and I were just a couple of months away from signing the official court documents stating we were divorced. While trying to keep things amicable we would meet to discuss things and we'd often listen to Ghost. By the time they would be coming Philadelphia that year, we would have been attending as two single individuals and no longer married. We'd have fun listening to them and as that common ground grew stronger, so did we and slowly began reconciling. By the time they did come to Philadelphia that year, we attended as a happily married couple and continue to do so today. Getting my wife back, I can honestly say, is all thanks to Ghost and I couldn't be more grateful to them or happier sharing the experience with anyone else except for Kelly.
The concert at Liseberg amusement Park was amazing. They opened doors at 11:00 am and there was already like 30 people waiting for the concert impatiently. Security guards and workers of the Amusement Park were very nice and help people when there was an incident outside the park.
The concert started at 8:00 pm without any problem, the crowd went crazy when they went on stage. The setlist was the following:
- Square Hammer
- From the Pinnacle to the Pit
- Elizabeth
- Con clavi con Dio
- Per aspera ad Inferi
- Body and Blood
- Devil Church
- Year Zero
- Spokosonat
- Absolution
- Deus in Absentia
- Monstrance Clock.
At the end of the last show was when 2 bodyguards came on stage and dragged Papa Emeritus III from stage and Papa Emeritus Zero came in, anouncing that the party was over and a new era was about to start.
I only got into Ghost recently and caught their show last night in Toronto.
I decided to get some cheap tickets because I liked the music and thought they'd be fun to see live.
They by far exceeded anything I was expecting. The creepy church vibe, use of incense(which I have never encountered before, very nice touch!), Papa engaging the audience at every opportunity and even took a few minutes just to chit chat and kept us roaring and laughing for more. The use of costumes and masks was amazing.
Being an introvert I don't really go out much, and when I do I just kind of sit there and enjoy the music and the show. This is the first band that's made me get up from my chair and actually get into the show. Next time they come to the area, I'm definitely saving up and treating myself to WAY better seating!
Oh my Ghost, this is the live ritual gig experience your soul is crying out for. Full disclaimer: I love Ghost to bits and have been preaching my dark passion for years. Seeing them live again - this time in a bigger arena off the back of a couple more hit albums - reaffirms the faith.
Go and see Ghost and you will get a diverse setlist drawn from the band's spectacular back catalogue. You will get theatrics and pyrotechnics. You will get both humour and deep emotion, dark anthems and sublime instrumentals and an uplifting sense that you a witnessing something novel and special.
Ghost are - musically, aesthetically, spiritually - something to cherish and the live experience is one that is fun, compelling, cathartic and oh-so-damn-rock-n-roll. Go worship and have the time of your (after)life.
I can see Ghost every night and never get bored. It's not just the band and music, Tobias has created characters, including his own, for this band that are incredibly humble and patient with their fans. While the material can be considered risque, you will see children younger than 10 years old attending that are not only having the time of their lives, but participating in the meet and greets with their parents. Everything about these shows from the music, to the costumes, the characters, and the theatrics is so very much entertaining. We know as fans that there is so much more to look forward to with the future of Ghost and we'll have the opportunity to enjoy them for many more years. It is very exciting when tomorrow becomes today and you're standing in front eagerly awaiting Ashes to start.
If you have Ghost, you have everything.
Theatre; spectacle; a sense of cult worship; dark humour; thick fugs of incense; electric, otherwordly energy; lighting and atmospherics; collective frenzy; and most of all, the sweet music of the night.
Ghost are beautiful for so many reasons. Beneath their sublime subversive style - iconoclastic and gleefully irreverent - is a musical powerhouse making the most compelling and catchy rock in this epoch. The craftsmanship is incredible. The mystique is immense. It's a joy to behold in the flesh (and blood) and if you have the opportunity to absorb the spirit of Ghost in person, surrender to it.
Honestly, Ghost was one of the greatest entertainment experiences I've had. Join them in their ritual and hail your Master...
This was the best show I have ever been to (I have seen a lot too). Ghost put on an electric performance with great theatrics as well as fun conversational bits while the musicians took a couple minutes to get water, wipe the sweat off from under those masks, etc. We were also delighted by the pyrotechnics, fog machines, and surprise mummy dust confetti! Well executed and the band sounded amazing live. I wish I had gotten tickets for the following night too! I will definitely be seeing them when they come back into town. Ghost really knows how to stimulate all their fans' senses. Many thanks to the band for their commitment to their fans and the melodic tunes they share with us. Keep them coming please!!!
The Ghost show was truly amazing. For me, this was mainly due to two things:
1. Each and every member of this band knows his instrument very well, and they play their songs flawlessly and with ease. Leaving them energy to interact with the crowd while still not missing a note/beat.
2. Their concept is so well thought through. From the incense and small unveiling ritual before their set starts to the sisters of sin and perfected visual in set, movements and costumes, everything works brilliantly. And with Papa giving some background info to songs and rituals, you really get the feeling you are part of a well-oiled ritual.
I am very glad I've been to the show, and can't wait to see this band again :)
Awesome band! I had a older friend come with last night to the Stockholm show and even thou she said "It's not exactly my favourite but it was a terrific show, tunes to sing along to and this isn't the last time we do this!" with a huge smile on her face. This was my second Ritual, i love the costume changes, you really feel like your seeing a theatrical show instead of a regular concert, I'm use to sitting up front but this time sat in the balcony to see a spectacular light show and pyrotechnics, we sat in the upper balcony and could feel the heat from the pyro effects.I only wish i could have been yp front closer to Cardinal Copia,to get his blessings. Will not be the last time i go to see Ghost!

Ghost Tour 2021
Ghost Tour 2021 6 th year
Contributed by Jan Petersen, photos courtesy Northeastern Nevada Museum
This year’s Downtown Ghost Tour will be expanded to two weekends – October 23-24 as well as Nevada Day weekend, October 29-30. Tickets will be available online through the DBA website beginning the week of October 4. Cost is $35 per person. Local actors will portray the events in first person chilling detail.
Four people will be featured from Elko’s colorful and historical past. “Ghosts” this year will be Dr. Mabel Young, a traveling woman dentist in northeastern Nevada in the early 1900s. Dr. Young promised painless extractions and other professional dental work at reasonable prices. At this time, it was unusual for women to be professionals in the medical field. She will tell you of her training and experiences dealing with patients and her public adventures at a time when women were not medical professionals. Other ghostly appearances will be made by Montana Charlie, who had an untimely end in 1877 after a shooting scrape took place at the Corner Saloon in downtown Elko. Arthur Keddie played football for the University of Nevada in Reno in 1900. He was also a champion bicycle racer. He married and became the manager of the Williams Estate ranching properties for his father-in-law in northern Elko County. Arthur was quite the daredevil, drove fast cars and learned to pilot one of those new air machines. He lived a fast-paced life and died young. The final guest ghost will feature a mysterious death of Del Young’s husband in May of 1931 in remote rural Midas, Nevada. Prohibition was in effect and resistance toward the enforcement of the Volstead Act played an active role in the demise of Mr. Young.
The Ghost Tours give residents and visitors a glimpse into the more colorful side of our area’s past. Join us for our sixth year of historical fun in downtown Elko!

Join us for a ghost tour with stories and visits to sites of old asylums, cults, and haunted bars next to dark alleys that harbor the spirits of gangsters and bootleggers. Windy City Ghosts brings you to the most haunted locations in Chicago on a nightly excursion full of supernatural terror. Discover the haunting stories that gave the city its horrid reputation amongst the world of the living and the dead.
Red Lion Pub
The Red Lion Pub is one of the oldest bars in the US and one of the most haunted. The building, erected in 1882, has seen many historical events play out inside it and around its neighborhood. One top of that, famous mobsters such as Al Capone and many others, were seen here as commonly as the handful of ghosts that now allegedly frequent this historic pub.
Biograph Theater
One of the oldest movie theaters in Chicago, the Biograph Theater is particularly well-known for the mobster activity and tragic events that occurred there back in the day. Most famously, bank robber John Dillinger was shot here in 1934, ironically after watching a gangster film. It’s attracted ghosts, mobsters, and historians alike ever since.
Until quite recently, Oz Park was pretty run down. Today, it is a scenic place to hang out with friends, kids, or pets. The park gets its name from the children’s story written by Chicago resident and novelist L. Frank Baum. A delightful display of Wizard of Oz-themed statues adorns this public space. However, due to some of the tragic events that occurred in its vicinity, it has reputation for some ghostly visitors.

Why You Should Book Your Chicago Ghost Tour Tonight!
Entertaining and full of history – and gore!
Our tour offers thrilling supernatural insight into the dark side of the city. We also cover a wide array of educational and historical details of the city that you will not learn anywhere else!
Chicago has a fascinating history , springing from the trade of fur traders, missionaries, and business people who saw its potential to control access to the Mississippi basin and the overland routes via rail to the whole Mid-West. Many of the waves of new Americans that came from Europe, Scandinavia, and further afield were drawn to this unionized town’s high wages.
The unions and the powerful ward system of politics meant Chicago was a power base for politicians of the day, and where power flows, blood surely follows. Corruption and murder were the lingua franca of the streets for decades, and all every deal gone wrong left a ghost behind.
Find out which gangsters , bootleggers, politicians, and jazz singers still haunt the windy shores of Lake Michigan today.
Knowledgeable Chicago tour guides
When you take a tour with Windy City Ghosts, you will be in the hands of professional and passionate guides, as well as being locals and incredibly knowledgeable about local culture and stories of hauntings they are courteous and adaptable.
If you bring the family you will still have children that will sleep tonight, but everyone will be remembering the stories for years to come! The tour is fully accessible and suitable for everyone. Bring a date and have stories to share for decades, if it works out!
Only the finest stories of hauntings and real history
All the stops on the Windy City ghost itinerary give you a deep look into Chicago’s dark past and shady characters. You’ll hear stories from the Second City that you won’t find in the history books, but that will bring different periods of the history of the City by The Lake to life, in a way that will stick in your memory like nothing from school. Hear tales of human suffering, bad luck, and tragedy with twists and turns that make them memorable beyond belief.
We research eyewitness accounts of the hauntings, like the ghost of a murdered jogger in Oz Park, who looks real but speaks with a distinctive tinny and faraway sound, eternally looking for a safe way out of the park to avoid her horrible fate.
Fun and frightening all in one
All the reviews talk of how fun the tour is. Windy City Ghosts is not like seeing a horror movie at the cinema (although with the extended tour it is a little shorter than the average movie); the fear creeps up on you and is suggested, not explicit.
Chicago at night is an atmospheric experience. The streets have a special light, and it does not take much to put you in a supernatural frame of mind. Whether you take the standard tour or extend dive deeper into the haunted history of Chicago with the extended tour, we know you will have fun, learn something, and have some truly terrifying tales to tell your family and friends when you get home, even if your home is already in Chicago.
Join us for a whirlwind fun and frightening wander through the terrible tales of the Windy City Ghosts.

The magic of Nightly Spirits started in 2012. We were 2 roommates that didn’t know a whole lot about tours and had been working in the private sector of D.C. since graduating from college. One thing we had in common that made us great roommates was our love of the paranormal. We had been on a lot of ghost tours around the country, but found them to be widely different in experience and entertainment. So, we set out to create a better tour that could be enjoyed by the super ghost hunters, casual believers, or non-believers.

Excellent walking tour led by Candice. Walked by several buildings and statues that have significant history and ghost haunting stories. She keeps her info up to date by speaking to several people around town who work in these buildings.
Amanda B | October 2019
Candice was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the city and buildings that were haunted as well as a great storyteller. If you are looking for a fun, but super informational and a little spooky experience this is the company for you!

The tour guide was super knowledgeable and not only did we get to hear ‘spooky stories,’ we learned a TON about Grand Rapids. Highly recommend. Next time I’m back in town I am going to do this again and choose a beer and history tour. Lots of fun!
Kate Dietz | October 2020
Candice was punctual, very knowledgeable, and she just made the tour so much fun! She was upbeat, smiling constantly, and made sure to accommodate everyone in the group. My husband and I both learned so much history about Grand Rapids, as well as many super cool ghost stories about buildings downtown.
Tedd Swartz | August 2020
Having lived in GR for thirty years, I learned more about the city than I ever thought possible! Both my Son and I enjoyed the history lesson and found the stories of spirits that exist in buildings around GR to be fascinating.

First time in Williamsburg and we went on this ghost tour our first night. Our guide, Kenny, was so knowledgeable and wonderful. We loved his storytelling ability and humor. This tour was just the right amount of spooky while giving a good introduction to the historic town. Would highly recommend!
Cynthia, Young was very knowledgeable about the history of one of the first states in our nation. Really intriguing and interesting stories. Williamsburg, VA has been through many wars, including the Civil War and Revolutionary War. There are many buildings built in the 16th Century that endured fires, bullet holes, but stood the test of time. A very fun and exciting tour, plus an education about our Country's history.

My sister and I decided to do the Murder Tour and Pub Crawl for our birthdays and it did not disappoint. Our tour guide was so personable and knowledgeable and you could tell she truly enjoyed her job. She called us to make sure we knew where to meet her and to discuss any food allergies. When we arrived we were able to quickly find her and we met the rest of our group as well (I think there was like 10 of us total). It was sprinkling a little bit but thankfully the weather held up throughout the night. She took us all around Williamsburg on foot and told us the murder stories of each location. We went to three pubs i think and enjoyed some delicious drinks. Our group was a lot of fun and we decided to hang out after we hit the last pub and restaurant and we all talked the night away. Highly recommend this tour.
We had so much fun on this tour!! Our guide Vladimir was amazing and so much fun. He was very informative and open to questions and made the tour very personable. I would recommend with tour for anybody who is in the area!
This was something we done in the past in another city. We decided to give this one a try. The tour did give some history along with some tragedies that have some ghost stories. A lot of walking so be prepared on the comfortable shoes. No bathrooms along the route until you double back so be thoughtful of that This was a one and done for me but to each their own.

This was a very entertaining tour thanks to our tour guide Rick. He was funny, knowledgeable, and interactive. He had some great stories to share and he included everyone in our group during his stories. He had a lot of personal stories and experiences that were very interesting, but they didn't all have anything to do with Williamsburg. The only downside to the tour is that there were just too many other tours going on simultaneously. We kept stacking up and waiting or moving around other groups. Rick kept us entertained but it was a little frustrating. I took this tour a few years ago and our group had several paranormal experiences during it. This time, we didn't have any obvious incidents but a few people caught some orbs in their pictures. Overall, I do recommend this tour. It's especially interesting if you have guests who want to do something interesting and maybe learn a few things at the same time.
Ricky was the best! Better then the rest! Way better then William very interesting and informative so glad to explore Williamsburg
Our 90 min tour was more like 2 hours. Randy was fun and had great stories to share. Lots of history lessons in there, because you are in the middle of Colonial Williamsburg that is all about history. That made this tour both interesting and entertaining. Very happy our family did this tour (with two teenagers), and everyone enjoyed it. I also found it cheaper than the competition that offered a shorter tour.
(This visit was made during the times of Covidious earlier this month. When things return to a look of normality - your experience likely will vary.) First, a bit of context: No, you're not going to see any funny lights, orbs, probes, ghosts, ghouls, kitchen appliances or apparitions past a blue WiFi router light or two in a window. But if you're lucky you'll get a guide who's a great story teller who will also give you some good wiki-style Williamsburg trivia. Thankfully for us, we got that with Rick. The basic setup is that you make your reservation via their website and then you meet the guide(s) in front of the W&M bookstore a few minutes before the start of the tour. I say guides because I don't know what the tour capacity maxes out at but for us on a Saturday in mid-March they had two guides who I assume took everyone to the same places just in different loops (we never saw the other group the rest of our tour). Each group had about fifteen people in it and all were wearing masks. Rick said that in season on weekends he'll do multiple tours a night versus the single tour they were doing that night. From the bookstore we walked across Boundary Street/Wren Yard and up to the Wren Building. From there it was across Boundary Street and back on to DOG Street while stopping a few times in the middle of the street or in front of Bruton Parish Episcopal Church. We then turned down the Palace Green and stopped in front of and then across from the George Wythe House which is where the tour ended. Overall from door to door it was almost exactly the advertised 90 minutes. Having been to Williamsburg many times prior, in terms of history we didn't hear or learn anything that we hadn't heard before. Between the Colonial angle and the Civil War angle and the Black Beard pirate stuff it was all old hat, which seemed to be the same for most of the people on the tour. That's not to say that Rick wasn't engaging or didn't put a good spin on it because he absolutely does, but honestly, there's only so much that you can cover. Aside from the history he told stories about things he and other tours supposedly saw over his many years of giving these tours. Do I believe any of it? Of course not. But it was still entertaining. Like telling good BS stories around the camp fire. Now this is by no means the only ghost tour in town as a few other private companies operate in the same area and CW offers their "official ghost tour" seasonally which overall is no different from what you would get here in terms of content, experience or price. The main difference is that the CW tours always stop at an hour and depending upon what they're doing that year they might go into a building or two yet other years you only walk through the gardens or rear entrances while staying outside. What's a better value or experience? I can't tell you. Way too subjective. Like I usually say after doing something like this, once you've done this once do you really ever need to do this again? Not likely but there is honestly only so much you can do at night in Williamsburg especially in the off season which is why I never say never again.
Booked this tour on a whim while visiting Colonial Williamsburg. We did it for the history, not the ghosts, and can say that there are definitely plenty of cool stories and fun facts here. The tour lasts approximately an hour and 20 min and costs $14 per adult when booking online. Be sure to dress warmly because it does get chilly in VA once the sun goes down, even in September!!
