Taylor Swift in London: Eras Tour timings, dates, set list, support acts and everything you need to know

Swifties prepare yourselves, her first Eras Tour Wembley shows are in sight

Amy Houghton

Attention, Swifties. This is your reminder to get those friendship bracelets made, your  Lover, Reputation  or  Speak Now  outfits decided and the  Tortured Poet's Department  lyrics learned. The Eras Tour is arriving at London’s Wembley Stadium this weekend. The first London Eras show (of this initial run – she’s back in August) is on Friday.

Taylor has already landed on UK shores, having played three massive shows in Edinburgh  and  Liverpool , and another show in  Cardiff . You can already get into the spirit of things, as  official merch has gone on sale in London this week . There are also loads of events and parties happening to celebrate the Eras Tour .

Social media has provided UK fans with a few glimpses of what to expect from the shows, which last a whopping three hours. Expect the biggest hits of Tay’s career, a couple of surprise songs and some truly epic stage production. If you were one of the lucky ones who managed to get tickets, here’s everything you need to know to prep for one of the most anticipated events of the year.

When is Taylor Swift’s Eras tour coming to London?

Get ready for it! Taylor will be playing eight London dates: June 21, 22 and 23 and August 15, 16, 17, 19 and 20.

What time will Taylor come on stage?

Timings haven’t been released for Wembley just yet. However, in Edinburgh and Liverpool she took to the stage between 7.15-7.20pm. Expect something similar in London (though be warned: on one night in Liverpool she started as late as 7.45pm).

Are there any tickets left?

Nice try. We hate to break it to you, but all tickets sold out on Ticketmaster extremely quickly.

Be careful if you’re trying to buy secondhand tickets. Ticketmaster, AEG and AXS have strictly stated that ‘any tickets found to be purchased via re-sale on the non-official secondary market will not be valid for entry’.

How much did tickets cost?

Tickets ranged from around £59 (for partial or obstructed view tickets) to £110 for general admission standing. Front standing was priced at about £172, while seated tickets went up to  £194.

For ultra-Swifties who went for VIP packages, the prices apparently went all the way up to £662.40 per person. Damn.

What’s the full setlist for the Eras Tour?

Stans of folklore and evermore , look away now. Following the release of Taylor’s 12th studio album  The Tortured Poet’s Department,  the singer has rejigged the setlist and cut some fan faves. Don’t worry, the show is still over three hours long. The full confirmed Eras Tour setlist is as follows:

  • Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince
  • Cruel Summer
  • You Need to Calm Down
  • You Belong With Me
  • We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together
  • I Knew You Were Trouble
  • All Too Well (10-minute version)
  • … Ready For It?
  • Don’t Blame Me
  • Look What You Made Me Do

Folklore/Evermore (now combined into one Era)

  • champagne problems
  • illicit affairs
  • my tears ricochet
  • Blank Space
  • Shake It Off
  • Wildest Dreams

The Tortured Poets Department (new!)

  • But Daddy I Love Him
  • So High School
  • Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?
  • The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived
  • I Can Do It With A Broken Heart

Two surprise songs

  • Lavender Haze
  • Midnight Rain
  • Vigilante Shit

And these are the songs that have been removed:

  • The Archer (from Lover era)
  • Long Live (from Speak Now era)
  • the 1 (from folklore era)
  • the last great american dynasty (from folklore era)
  • ’tis the damn season (from evermore era)
  • tolerate it (from evermore era)

Who will be supporting Taylor in London?

For her European leg, Taylor is being supported by the one and only Paramore. The pop-punk band’s nine-song setlist includes ‘Hard Times’, ‘Misery Business’, ‘Still Into You’ and ‘Ain’t It Fun’.

In London, Taylor will have three additional support acts, which will come on before Paramore.  On the June leg of the Eras Tour in London, she’ll be supported by Mette on June 21, Griff on June 22 and Benson Boone in June 23.

Are there any banned items?

As per Wembley’s policies, you won’t be allowed to bring:

  • Bags larger than A4
  • Large umbrellas
  • Aluminium and glass drink containers, plastic bottles over 500ml
  • Food and drink
  • Selfie sticks
  • Weapons and tools
  • Flares, lasers, smoke devices and cannisters
  • Large-bodied cameras and camcorders
  • Unauthorised musical instruments and vuvuzelas

The time has finally come for you to experience Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour as tickets will soon go on sale for UK fans. But first there are some important things you should know ahead of time to make sure the process is as smooth as possible, and to give you the best chance of getting your hands on those all-important tickets.

Firstly, you must register to get access to all ticket sales for Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour

Ticket Sale Registration is being used to filter out buyers looking to resell tickets and prioritise genuine fans like you, ensuring that tickets go directly into the hands of those who truly want to attend the show.

It’s also important to note that Ticket Sale Registration does not guarantee access to the sale, or to tickets. We expect there will be more demand than there are tickets available, meaning only a limited number of fans will gain access to the sale. On 5 July, you will be contacted by the promoter, AEG Presents, confirming next steps.

The label pre-sale is ONLY open to fans who participated in the UK store Midnights pre-order offer between Monday 29 August 2022 and Thursday 27 October 2022. Taylor Swift performing songs from The Tortured Poets Department during the Eras Tour

Here Are All of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour European Dates So You Can Follow Along Online

Image of Leah Marilla Thomas

Planning on living vicariously through Taylor Swift’s ongoing stadium tour this summer? Here’s what you need to know about the Eras Tour Europe dates.

I’ll also list the local time at each tour stop in relation to Greenwich Mean Time. (If you’ve never seen that before, the Prime Meridian that determines GMT is located in the Greenwich borough of London, though since it is a dividing line most of London is actually GMT+1, meaning one hour ahead of GMT. In the United States “Eastern Standard Time” is GMT-4, they are four hours behind GMT, and “Pacific Standard Time” is GMT-8, eight hours behind. Why am I explaining all of this? We’re supposed to be talking about Taylor Swift.)

If you’re not in the mood for math, you can also click the times below to be taken to a “what time is it in ___” Google result for your convenience. That way, you’ll know exactly when to tune into social media for the latest acoustic set/secret songs and other Eras updates.

The European era of the Eras tour opened in Paris, and as fans across the world discovered in horror shock it’s a totally different show this summer. We knew that The Tortured Poets Department would mix things up, but things are majorly different. What else is in store? Well, Taylor’s famous for her Fourth of July parties, and this year she’ll be in a party city. But not, like, a Party City. You get it. There are Olympic stadiums, old cities galore, and an extended stay in Germany. Oh, and the opener for the entire European leg of the 2024 tour, by the way, is Paramore. What a treat!

Paris, France – May 9-12

Venue : Paris La Defense Arena Local Time: GMT+2

Stockholm, Sweden – May 17-19

Even if you’re not going to the show, there are still ways to watch “The Eras Tour” from home. The “Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” singer will play Liverpool Night 1 on Thursday, June 13; Liverpool Night 2 on Friday, June 14; and Liverpool Night 3 on Saturday, June 15.

Swifties have been clowning on social media once again about what surprises Swift may have in store for the Liverpool shows. The mass amounts of fan speculation on X stems from the fact Swift was seen wearing the same clock chocker necklace that she wore to the 2024 Grammys when she announced “The Tortured Poets Department” while out and about in London, England, leading up to the Liverpool Night 1 show.

Taylor is wearing the same clock necklace in London recently that she only wore once before at the Grammys when she announced TTPD 👀 What is she up to? 🤍 pic.twitter.com/3tsMHAVn2J — Taylor Swift Updates (@SwiftNYC) June 12, 2024

Fans who are anxiously awaiting the release of “Reputation (Taylor’s Version)” believe the clock chocker may indicate Swift is going to announce the rerecorded album’s release day at one of her three “Eras Tour” shows in Liverpool — perhaps at the 100th show, which takes place on Thursday, June 13. Others believe her donning the clock chocker means she’s going to drop a new music video for another TTPD track, such as “Florida!!! ”

All this to say, the only way to find out if Swift does, in fact, have surprises in store for her “Eras Tour” shows in Liverpool is by tuning into a grainy livestream of the show. Luckily, there are a handful of reliable Swifties out there hosting free livestreams of each show for their fellow fans around the world.

Taylor Swift, the self-proclaimed 'Hugh Grant stan,' responds to his 'Eras Tour' message

Taylor Swift had a sweet response to Hugh Grant after the English actor praised her recent run of "Eras Tour" concert performances at London's Wembley Stadium.

Grant attended Swift's show on June 22 with his wife, Anna Eberstein, and at least one of their children. The following day, the actor left a glowing review in a message on X .

For Swift's June 21 show, “Bridgerton” star Nicola Coughlan posted a photo on her Instagram story showing off her friendship bracelets, which have become a staple for fans on the “Eras Tour.”

In the caption, Swift wished William, who turned 42 on June 21, a happy birthday, writing, “Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start.”

Taylor Swift Announces End of Her Eras Tour Era: “I Think I Once Had Hobbies”

england eras tour

There’s long, and then there’s “perform a very physical three-hour-plus concert 150ish times around the world throughout two calendar years.” The latter is where Taylor Swift finds herself, announcing onstage at her 100th Eras Tour performance that her December 2024 run in Vancouver, Canada will be the end of the tour.

While introducing the 10-minute extended version of “All Too Well” (speaking of long) Thursday evening in Liverpool during the first of her three planned shows there, Swift announced the news.

“You know, this is actually the 100th show of the show,” she said, saying that it “blows my mind.”

“This has definitely been the most exhausting, all-encompassing, but most joyful, most rewarding, most wonderful thing that has ever happened in my life,” she said. But all good things must come to an end, or so we hear. “This is the very first time I’ve ever acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is gonna end in December,” she said. “Like, that’s it.

“And that feels like so far away from now,” she added. “But then again, it feels like we just played our first show on this tour. Because you have made this so much fun for us that we wanted to do a hundred shows, 150-something shows that we have on the whole tour.”

She went on to admit that “this tour has really become my entire life. Like, it’s taken over everything. I think I once had hobbies, but I don’t know what they were anymore. Because all I do when I’m not on stage is, like, sit at home and try to think of clever acoustic song mashups and think about what you might want to hear. So when I’m not on the stage, I’m dreaming about being back on the stage with you guys.” She thanked the fans for their effort and told them that “I appreciate every single ounce of effort that you put in to be with us.”

Notably, Swift has dropped the (Taylor’s Version) re-recordings of two of her older albums, Speak Now and 1989 , during the tour’s run, plus the super-sized 31-track album The Tortured Poets Department . Oh, and she released that record-breaking concert film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour . And she nabbed a historic fourth Album of the Year Grammy . That to-do list of hers has gotten plenty done, and there’s still time yet for more of the singer's signature surprises.

Though she sings in “Gorgeous” that she’ll “stumble on home to my cats,” Swifties know that there’s someone else the singer has been spending time with offstage, and he also has whiskers, despite being human. Swift stayed up late Thursday night to virtually join in on celebrations for boyfriend Travis Kelce as he and the Kansas City Chiefs accepted their latest championship hardware during the ring ceremony for their 2024 Super Bowl win. While Swift couldn’t do a repeat of February’s post-game celebrations (smooches, lip-sync serenades , and all), she hopped onto the Instagram Live cast of the ceremony to watch Kelce put a ring on it and dropped some choice all-caps comments in real-time.

“JOINING THE PARTY FROM LIVERPOOL LET’S GOOOOOOOO,” she commented on the stream, throwing in some “AHHHHHHH” and “YESSSSSSSS” to make her feelings clear. Eventually, she decided that it was time to get some sleep, presumably to prep for Friday night’s show and have those dreams about being onstage that she talked about. “Gotta go to sleep it’s so late here love you guys❣️❣️❣️,” she wrote in parting.

The Eras Tour continues its European run through August, before Swift takes a several-week break. In mid-October, she concludes the tour with stops in three U.S. cities, then a final jaunt to Canada to close out the run, which began in March 2023. Then, perhaps, she will rediscover her hobbies.

Taylor Swift Brings Travis Kelce Onstage at London Eras Tour Show

By Althea Legaspi

Taylor Swift closed out her final Eras Tour date in London, England, on Sunday with a bevy of guests in attendance, including Sir Paul McCartney . The Beatles member was spotted by fans as he entered the VIP tent and danced along with fans during Swift’s third and last Eras concert at Wembley Stadium. But it was the appearance of Swift’s boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce , who made his onstage Eras Tour debut that was the biggest surprise of the night.

During the intro to “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart,” Kelce appeared as one of her dancers and carried her to the couch during the vaudeville-styled segment.

Sunday drew an A-list set of musical VIP stars, reportedly including Peter Gabriel and Jon Bon Jovi, though none of them took the stage. However, McCartney joined fans to dance during “But Daddy I Love Him.”

On Saturday, Swift invited Paramore’s Hayley Williams onstage — the band is serving as the opening guest for Swift’s European and U.K. Eras Tour dates — during the acoustic section. The pair performed the piano-led “ Castles Crumbling ” which features Williams, a from-the-vault track from Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) . Swift also performed a live debut of The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology  track “Thank You, Aimee,” which she played on acoustic guitar and mashed it up with “Mean.”

Next weekend, she heads to Dublin, Ireland. The European and U.K. leg runs through August, before the tour heads to Canada for a string of dates that concludes on Dec. 8 at BC Place in Vancouver. Swift recently announced that she will be  wrapping the Eras Tour for good  at the end of 2024.

Which Celebs Went to the Eras Tour in London?

Portrait of Olivia Craighead

What a weekend to be a Swiftie. Just when you think that the Eras Tour is winding down , Taylor Swift goes to London. Swift performed three nights at Wembley Stadium, and over the course of the weekend she drew out some of the most famous people from both sides of the pond, brought Travis Kelce onstage, and, most importantly to me, sang “The Black Dog” for the first time. So who came out to see Swift in London? If you guessed Tom Cruise and Hugh Grant, you’d be right! There were lots of other stars too, so let’s get into it.

In a real “game recognize game” moment, the action star took a break from filming the eighth Mission: Impossible to appreciate someone else who’s as obsessed with entertaining as he is. He may not have attended daughter Suri’s graduation in New York on Friday (not like it seems that she wanted him there, having dropped his last name), but he wasn’t going to miss out on London’s hottest club: the VIP tent on the second night of the London Eras Tour.

Never one to do something half-heartedly, Cruise went to the Eras Tour the same way a young Swiftie would. He exchanged friendship bracelets , he danced along, and he brought an adult man who seemed confused the whole time. In Cruise’s case, it wasn’t a father figure but rather his longtime Mission: Impossible collaborator Chris McQuarrie. He’s the guy in the blue suit just sort of nodding along in every video.

Prince William

Speaking of dancing, Prince William was getting his life during “Shake It Off.”

Not to be a royalist, but this guy has had a tough year , and sometimes you really do need to dance it out. It was his birthday, after all. He brought along two of his children, George and Charlotte. I guess Louis heard that Swift cut “Long Live” from the set list and couldn’t abide by it. Too bad for him, because his siblings got a photo I bet they’ll be lording over him for the rest of his life.

Paul McCartney

While most of the celebs preferred to stay in the relative comfort of the VIP tent, Paul McCartney opted to be in his safe space (surrounded by screaming girls). Here he is bobbing along as a couple young women shriek “But Daddy I Love Him” directly into his face.

Gracie Abrams

Fresh off the heels of releasing her new album (and telling everyone about Swift’s fire-safety credentials ), the former Eras Tour opener was invited back onstage to sing her song “Us,” a Swift collab.

@maitaylorsver I know for a fact “us” is gonna be good can’t wait to hear itt!! #taygracie #thesecretofus #taylorswift #gracieabrams #swiftie #fyp #collab #gracie #us #therastour #surprisesong #newalbum #viral #erastour #dontflop #swiftietok #yall #imissyouimsorry @Taylor Swift ♬ original sound - Maitaylorsver

Sophie Turner

Of course one of Swift’s favorite dinner companions was going to show out. Turner also partied with Swift and Kelce after Sunday’s concert, bringing along that handsome viscount she was seen snogging back in October. Happy to see that they’re still going strong.

Greta Gerwig

I can’t say I’m surprised that Mr. Gerwig (Noah Baumbach) didn’t tag along for this outing; not really his speed. Gerwig, on the other hand, had the time of her life. At one point, she rocked out to “Shake It Off” alongside Kelce, which hopefully inspired a Ken spinoff that’s actually just a buddy comedy starring him and Ryan Gosling.

Cate Blanchett

This is kind of exactly what I’d imagine if you told me to picture “Cate Blanchett at the Eras Tour.”

Andrew Scott and Phoebe Waller-Bridge

Yes, this is a Fleabag reunion, but that’s old news by now. These two are always hanging out. What’s new intel is the fact that Scott is a 1989 stan, as evidenced by a video in which he grabbed Waller-Bridge and dragged her back to the VIP tent as soon as “Style” started. Taste!

Not only did the Notting Hill star attend the Eras Tour, but he got there early to watch Paramore and eat baby carrots . He also fired off this tweet, which is an immediate Hall of Fame post for me.

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis

Not much to say about these two. They were in the tent; they brought their kids. They danced a lot.

This Little Trio (Nicola Coughlan, Cara Delevingne, and Jonathan Van Ness)

I don’t think they actually all came together, but it’s fun to imagine.

Salma Hayek

Okay, so Salma’s just as obsessed with Nicola as the rest of us right now.

Ellie Goulding

I know the “Bad Blood” music video feels like forever ago, but Goulding was in the OG squad! Clearly, she’s still friends with Swift as she was spotted collecting friendship bracelets and dancing in the VIP tent.

Piers Morgan

Notably, Morgan had to buy his own ticket.

Travis Kelce

Of course I saved the best for last. Kelce attended all three London shows and had the best night of his life every single night. He brought along his brother Jason and Jason’s wife, Kylie; he hung out with Tom Cruise; and he sang along to just about every song. We really cannot forget that before he was a boyfriend, he was a fan. To me, that’s why what happened on Sunday night was such a big deal.

For context, in the Tortured Poets Department portion of the set list, there’s a little skit as Swift transitions from “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” to “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.” Usually, two of her dancers carry her limp body over to a sofa, where they prop her up and get her ready for her big number despite her protestations. She’s basically a doll that they’re winding up. On Sunday, Kelce got up onstage to take part in the skit — a first for a Swift boyfriend.

@ieucooke PARDON ME ? #foryou #erastour #taylorswift #traviskelce ♬ original sound - ieu

This basically broke the Swiftie corner of the internet. They (we) had never seen anything like it before. Joe Alwyn certainly wasn’t donning a custom snake outfit during the Reputation Tour. The audience went wild, as did the VIP tent upon his return. Most importantly, we got this GIF, which has been playing in my head nonstop for the last 20 hours with no sign of slowing down.

18 Behind-The-Scenes Secrets You Probably Didn’t Know About The Eras Tour

Whether you’ve been lucky enough to attend Taylor Swift ’s Eras tour in person on its recent UK leg, or you’ve just been following the spectacle on social media, the chances are you’ve been asking the same question as us – how on earth do she and her team do it?

Between performing for more than three hours straight night after night, whizzing through numerous fast-paced costume changes and visiting a seemingly endless list of cities on the world jaunt, there’s no doubt the gargantuan tour is a real feat.

But, it’s also left us with endless questions about how the whole thing comes together. Allow us to help you out with some of the big ones.

The stages are set up days in advice

Even when Taylor Swift momentarily disappears during her seamless transitions, her interactive stage is a show in itself.

As the singer journeys through the Eras, the display changes with her – from the golden glow of Fearless to the lavender haze of Midnights.

So, how does she bring such a complex set-up all around the world with her?

Founder and CEO of market intelligence company FreightWaves Craig Fuller estimated that the Eras tour will cost more than $30 million (around £23 million) for transportation and logistics alone. And with tours of this magnitude (just like Beyoncé ’s Renaissance shows) it’s not uncommon to have two or more sets on the go so that crew can begin assembling at the next location.

Dave Brooks, Billboard Senior Director of Live Music and Touring, outlined the process with The New York Post , sharing: “They have advance teams that can be prepping and pre-building.”

“It takes two to three weeks, in my understanding,” he added.

However, while one report suggested that an estimated 90 trucks will arrive at the venue to construct the stage, a source supposedly close to the tour told automotive publication Jalopnik that this figure is actually closer to around 50.

Fans on Reddit who have actually been to the tour have also recalled seeing the stage being deconstructed almost immediately once the concert finishes, so they really don’t waste a minute before hitting the road to do it all over again.

And Taylor is fully aware what a huge operation it is behind the scenes, even giving her drivers $100,000 (£79,000) bonuses .

In total, she handed out over $55 million (£43 million) in bonuses to the crew working on the tour, as a source told People . One trucker told Rolling Stone that the sum was “life-changing”.

Taylor did a lot of prep to be able to perform for that long

How, when our lower back was aching and feet were screaming just as an Eras tour audience member, can Taylor do what she does for over three hours night after night?

Well, first of all, she started boosting her endurance well before the tour started. In her recent cover profile with Time magazine, the singer shared: “I knew this tour was harder than anything I’d ever done before by a long shot.”

Joking that she has been “like a frat guy” on past tours, this time around, she began training a whole six months before the shows started.

“Every day I would run on the treadmill, singing the entire set list out loud,” she said. “Fast for fast songs, and a jog or a fast walk for slow songs.”

Her gym even created a personalised programme for her, focusing on strength, conditioning and weights work.

“Then I had three months of dance training, because I wanted to get it in my bones,” she added. “I wanted to be so over-rehearsed that I could be silly with the fans, and not lose my train of thought.”

Taylor also completely cut out alcohol to make sure she was on top form at all times

“Doing that show with a hangover,” she said, “I don’t want to know that world.”

There are also other strict measures in place to ensure the singer doesn’t get sick

Just imagine the disappointment of hearing your night at the Eras tour was cancelled because poor Taylor had caught a cold. Apparently her team does everything in its collective power to keep her fighting fit on the road.

A music industry source told Yahoo Lifestyle that Taylor wasn’t planning to take in the sights or meet fans while in Australia, just in case she got ill.

“When Taylor is on tour, strict measures are put into place to stop her interacting with anyone outside of her ‘bubble’. They can not risk her getting sick under any circumstances,” they said.

“Even those in her bubble, including her dancers and managers, are restricted [in] what they can do and where they can go during their downtime.

“Going on a world tour may sound exciting, but the reality of it is each day just consists of going from a hotel room to the venue and repeat.”

However, we, of course, know that Taylor will sometimes make an exception when there’s a window of downtime, whether it’s grabbing dinner with her famous friends or cheering on boyfriend Travis Kelce in the Super Bowl .

She also told Time that being sick isn’t enough for her to cancel a show.

“I know I’m going on that stage whether I’m sick, injured, heartbroken, uncomfortable, or stressed,” she said. “That’s part of my identity as a human being now. If someone buys a ticket to my show, I’m going to play it unless we have some sort of force majeure.”

And she doesn’t play around when it comes to recovery

It turns out that Taylor recovers from a show exactly as you would imagine.

“I do not leave my bed except to get food and take it back to my bed and eat it there,” she told Time .

“It’s a dream scenario. I can barely speak because I’ve been singing for three shows straight. Every time I take a step my feet go crunch, crunch, crunch from dancing in heels.”

How did Taylor Swift choose songs for the Eras tour setlist?

By now, we know that the Eras tour is a journey through all the various albums of Taylor’s career.

That means we get all the hits – both old and new – along with the odd deep cut, as well as different surprise songs at every show in her dedicated acoustic segment.

It can’t have been easy choosing the setlist from such a huge back catalogue of songs, and so far Taylor hasn’t really opened up about how exactly she does it.

However, we do know that she loves to keep fans on their toes and switches things up occasionally.

“You think you can just go online, you think you can just scroll and know the setlist?’” the pop star joked during a show in Arlington, Texas earlier this year.

“You think you can just come prepared with your little flashcards in your pocket,” she added. “Let it be said about the Eras tour, we’re tricksy. That’s what we are. We enjoy a good, healthy setlist hijinks.”

That night, she swapped her Folklore song Invisible String to The 1.

And what about picking the surprise song each night?

E ach night during the acoustic portion of the Eras show, Taylor will perform two songs. These could quite literally be anything from across her lengthy career, and sometimes they even come in the form of a mash-up .

For a while, Taylor refrained from performing any repeat songs throughout the whole tour. But in February this year, she did away with that rule .

“I’ve been thinking, I want to be as creative as possible with the acoustic set moving forward,” she told a crowd in Melbourne.

“I want to be able to play songs more than once if I feel like it, and I wanna be able to make changes to songs.”

As for how she actually picks them, it’s still a mystery, despite fans’ best efforts to work out her methods .

How did Taylor Swift incorporate The Tortured Poets Department portion of the Eras tour?

Europe may have waited longer than anyone to finally experience the Eras tour, but our patience was rewarded in the form of The Tortured Poets Department segment – a newly-added run of songs featuring bespoke set-pieces, costumes and even a one-off surprise appearance from Taylor’s boyfriend Travs Kelce .

It’s even more impressive that Taylor somehow managed to create a whole extra part of the tour after the already-lengthy show was up and running.

During her second night in Paris this year, the singer revealed to fans that planning started months before The Tortured Poets Department ever made it to the stage.

“We started planning this surprise for you about eight or nine months ago and then when we got ‘two months off’ of the Eras Tour, we really didn’t take any time off at all,” she said in a video shared by Variety .

“We just went directly back into rehearsals. So I’d like to give it up for my crew, my dancers, and my band.”

However, some setlist sacrifices did have to be made in order to make room for Taylor’s newest era, with songs like The Archer, The Last Great American Dynasty and ’Tis the Damn Season not making the cut for the second leg of the tour.

Taylor previously disclosed that work on her latest release began “ right after I turned in Midnights”, with work continuing throughout the US leg of her world jaunt last year.

Those costume changes happen like clockwork

There are 16 costume changes throughout the Eras tour, most of which only last two minutes or so.

There’s no official behind-the-scenes confirmation of how it all works just yet, but our best guess (along with those of some experienced theatre performers ) is that there’s some quick-change magic going on. Taylor will also have a team of people helping her backstage, who will be around for hair and makeup touch-ups as well as costume changes.

Dan George, a tour manager who has worked for Shakira and Britney Spears in the past, told the New York Post : “All costumes are typically modified in some way that’s going to make it really easy to get in and out of.

“A dress that would typically have buttons, maybe they add a zipper on it instead. Or the performer might need to have a pouch for a battery pack in a costume. You know, little customizations that make things easier.”

One TikTok user also captured a pretty good angle of a costume change during Midnight Rain.

While performing in locations where it gets darker earlier, Taylor was even filmed doing some outfit adjustments and taking a quick water break on the stage.

And, as anyone who’s seen the show before will know, some of those costume changes even take place on stage as part of the show – which is how Travis wound up making his cameo in London .

Taylor’s parents adorned her bejewelled Fearless guitar by hand

Even a globe-trotting pop star needs a little help from mum and dad every now and again.

Taylor’s crystal encrusted guitar, which she plays during the Fearless portion of the night (matching the one she used on her 2009 tour), was hand-finished by her parents, who stuck the shimmering stones on by hand using “super glue and a free afternoon.”

Who decides which audience member gets Taylor Swift’s 22 hat?

Each night during the Red portion of the set, Taylor gifts her signed bowler hat to a very lucky fan while singing 22.

While neither Taylor nor her team has ever said anything about how the fan in question is chosen, there are plenty of theories out there.

One of them is that Taylor’s mum, Andrea , will scope out the crowd to look for fans. During her closing night Wembley show in July, Taylor confirmed that her parents will, indeed, take a look at the crowd before the show and report back how the energy is looking that night.

Previous recipients have reported being approached by Taylor’s team during the concert. Nine-year-old Milana Bruno was chosen at Taylor’s first Melbourne, and thought she was “getting told off” for dancing on her chair at first, according to the Sydney Morning Herald .

The mother of another fan at the Cardiff show, seven-year-old Evie Frith, recalled being chosen totally unexpectedly.

“At the end of Love Story, someone grabbed Evie and me and said ‘quick, run’,” mum Kayleigh told the BBC . “They took us to the ground floor bit – I have no idea how they spotted Evie. I really believe it was meant to be.”

But other times it seems she’s the Mastermind behind it all…

Kobe Bryant’s daughter Bianka was gifted the hat at one of Taylor’s Los Angeles Show, and when New Zealand TikToker Oliver Mills received the hat in Melbourne, Taylor was filmed telling him: “I love your videos, you’re so funny”.

In an interview with The Project , Oliver teased that while he wasn’t one to “share secrets”, he said he was in the “right place at the right time” (though later admitted in a TikTok that he’s been “lying” to the media to keep the secret.

Taylor’s method of getting backstage is hilariously unglamorous

If you’re deep on Swift-tok, you’ll have seen plenty of theories that Taylor makes her way backstage via…a cleaning cart.

One video actually appeared to prove that this is how Taylor secretly gets into position, which you can watch below. Also, absolutely 10/10 touch with three conveniently placed mops.

How does Taylor Swift pull off that Eras tour dive every night?

You know the one, where she dives head first (fearless!) into a gap in the stage like she’s entering a body of water.

Attendees who have been at just the right angle spotted that Taylor takes her cue to dive from an LED light. When the floor opens up it’s red, and when it’s time to go the light will turn green.

As for how she zooms to the other end of the stage, back in 2018 Taylor gave fans a little behind the scenes video of the “rocket sled” that takes her from one end of to the other, so we suspect it’s something similar helping pull off the illusion that she’s actually swimming underneath walkway.

Taylor’s choreographer has also worked on some HUGE movies

If you’re a big Swiftie you might have taught yourself some of the Eras dance moves by now (we can’t get enough of the Karma steps , personally), and it turns out Taylor had some help from a choreographer who’s a pretty huge deal in the movie industry.

Mandy Moore not only choreographed Taylor’s steps, but she’s the dance expert behind those amazing La La Land dance scenes. She’s also got credits for Babylon starring Margot Robbie and has worked on Dancing With The Stars since 2015.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight about working with Taylor, she shared: “I love that she is a hard worker, she cares so much about what she’s doing, she wants the fans to have the best show possible, and she stops at nothing to get that done.

“And I appreciate it because I like to work hard too, and we are really alike. We had a really good working relationship; it was awesome.”

The show has (sort of) caused mini earthquakes

When Taylor was performing in Seattle, the city generated seismic activity equivalent to a 2.3 magnitude earthquake, according to a seismologist who spoke to CNN .

Then she did it again in Edinburgh, with the British Geological Survey reporting that earthquake readings were detected up to 6 km away from the venue.

The Eras tour is raking in even more cash than you’d expect

With stadiums ranging from 50,000 to 90,000 capacity and an expected 152 Eras shows performed by the end of 2024, it’s pretty mind-boggling to try and fathom how much cash that is raking in.

As of 2023, it was the first tour in history to gross $1 billion (£ 791.5 million) – and Taylor is estimated to make an additional  billion in ticket sales in 2024 alone.

Taylor Swift donates to the food banks of every city she stops in

If Taylor Swift is coming to town, you can be sure that the whole city is going to know about it. And in a generous gesture to mark her visit to each location, she donates big sums of money to food banks .

The Cardiff Foodbank said Taylor’s donation was the largest the charity has ever received, which it said has now given them “breathing space” to try new things .

St Andrew’s Community Network in Liverpool, added that her donation there was the “most incredible gift”.

Travis Kelce reflects on joining Taylor Swift onstage during London Eras Tour stop

Kelce said the moment allowed him to "just be a ham and have some fun."

Travis Kelce is reflecting on his surprise cameo during girlfriend Taylor Swift's Eras Tour stop in London.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end opened up about the moment on his "New Heights" podcast with his brother Jason Kelce, in the season 2 finale that debuted July 3, and revealed the surprise appearance was his idea.

Taylor Swift says she is 'swooning' over Travis Kelce's Eras Tour debut: See London photos

"I initially mentioned it to Tay. I was like, 'How funny would it be if I just, like, rolled out on one of the bikes?'" he recalled.

Kelce said Swift laughed before asking if he would seriously be up for it.

"I was just like, 'What? I would love to do that, are you kidding me? I've seen the show enough, might as well put me to work here,'" he added.

Kelce said Swift -- whom he called a "true showman" -- found the "perfect part of the show" for him to join her on the stage at Wembley Stadium during the June 26 concert, with Kelce dressed in a full tuxedo and bow tie.

Travis Kelce  is giving credit where credit is due, or so it seems!

After  Patrick Mahomes  said he takes " some credit " for Travis' relationship with  Taylor Swift , the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback found himself and his wife,  Brittany Mahomes , vibing alongside Travis and enjoying Night 3 of Taylor's Eras Tour concert Saturday night in Amsterdam.

Video circulating on social media shows Patrick and Brittany getting cozy in a suite at Johan Cruijff Arena with Travis in tow. Brittany can be seen hugging her man as he smiles and appears to sing along to "Lover." Meanwhile, Travis is also singing his little heart out while swaying side to side. You can see he's holding a drink with one hand while the other hand taps his heart before forming half of Taylor's signature hand heart.

This marks Travis'  second show in Amsterdam , while Patrick and Brittany made it just in time as Saturday's show marks her last show in The Netherlands before the tour heads to Zurich. It's been quite the eventful few days for Patrick and Brittany, who just days ago were dressed to the nines checking out the Wimbledon Tennis Championships in London, England.

Brittany, who very quickly endeared herself with Taylor and became part of her posse , was stoked about being at the Eras Tour in Amsterdam, as she documented her experience with a Boom and a couple of videos on her Instagram Story.

It's also a full circle moment for the two couples.

You'll recall it was Patrick who said he's the one who invited Travis to his first Taylor concert back in July 2023. It was during that outing when Travis later revealed he created a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it in hopes of giving it to the Tortured Poets Department singer. That plan didn't pan out, and Travis said he was " a little butthurt ."

But Travis wouldn't be deterred. And months later, once  their romance  was secured, Taylor reacted to Travis' failed gesture.

"This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,"  Taylor told  Time   last year. "We started hanging out right after that."

And now they're easily the most popular couple in the world .

During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show in May, Patrick shared his thoughts on Travis and Taylor's budding romance and why he thinks he's responsible for the relationship.

"We enjoy it. It's been a fun run," Patrick said of the tight end's romance with the superstar. "I like to take some of the credit. I was the one who invited Travis to the first Taylor concert when the friendship bracelet [plan was made]."

"He was sitting in my suite, so I feel like I was the matchmaker," he added. "I had some input in there as well. I was like, 'Dude, you should just go for it. Just go for it!' And you know Travis, man. He does it. He's a great dude."

By the way, if it seems like Travis and Patrick are squeezing in a lot of fun outings in such a short period of time it's because their vacay's almost coming to an end. The NFL stars will soon have to report to training camp with the Chiefs, and then it's back to business and begin their quest for a third straight Super Bowl win, a feat that has never been accomplished.

Travis Kelce reflects on 'honor' of joining Taylor Swift onstage and how they came up with the idea together

Swifties have been buzzing since Travis Kelce made his onstage debut during girlfriend Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” show in London on June 23, and now, he’s sharing details about how his surprise appearance came to be.

On the July 3 episode of his “New Heights” podcast, which he co-hosts with brother Jason Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end revealed he originally thought of the idea to join Swift onstage at Wembley Stadium.

“It’s very unlike me,” the three-time Super Bowl winner joked. “I don’t love going on stages.”

His brother, who attended Swift’s other London shows with wife Kylie Kelce, asked who came up with the idea.

“I initially mentioned it to Tay. I was like, ‘How funny would it be if I just rolled out on one of the bikes during the ‘1989’ [portion of the show],’” Travis Kelce explained.

“She started laughing,” he continued. “She was like, ‘Would you seriously be up for doing something like that?’”

He told her he would “love” to be involved.

“I’ve seen the show enough — might as well put me to work here,” he recalled.

“Sure enough, she found the perfect, perfect part of the show for me to come in. There was no bike in case I ran into somebody else or hit one of the dancers or anything. It was the safest option,” the younger Kelce explained.

He also shouted out some of Swift’s dancers, including Kameron Saunders, who is the brother of Kelce’s former Chiefs teammate Khalen Saunders, and explained how the dancers are trying to bring Swift back to life during the newer “Tortured Poets Department” section of her show.

“[They’re] trying to bring her back to life, get her ready to perform the rest of the show, so to speak — knowing she can do it with a broken heart, right?” he added, the latter part being a reference to lyrics from Swift’s song “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.”

Jason Kelce added that song may be his “favorite.”

“It’s such a fun, playful part of the show,” Travis Kelce said. “It was the perfect area, or perfect time, for me to go up there — just be a ham and have some fun.”

He added he had “an absolute blast” and got to “pull out” one of his favorite moves, which was inspired by Jim Carrey’s character’s moves in “Dumb and Dumber.”

“And then just made sure I played with Tay and got her makeup right,” he said.

He said it was “an honor” just to be on the stage with Swift and her team of dancers and again shouted out Kam and how he won two Super Bowl titles with his brother, whom he also described as one of his “all-time favorite teammates.”

Travis Kelce wasn’t too nervous about messing up during his appearance and said, “You can do no wrong when Taylor’s onstage.” However, there was “one thing” he was hesitant about.

After walking onstage, he  carried Swift  to a red sofa and pantomimed getting the singer ready to continue her performance.

“Listen, the one thing I told myself is: ‘Do not drop the baby. Do not drop this — do not drop Taylor on your way over to this damn couch.’ The golden rule was: ‘Do not drop Taylor getting her over to the couch,’” he recalled.

During his time on the stage, Travis Kelce also pulled out a heel-click dance move.

“About time my heel-click paid off,” he said. “I’ve been doing that s--- since I was a f------ toddler.”

Swift acknowledged Kelce’s appearance  during the “Eras Tour” in  a social media post June 24 .

“I’m still cracking up/swooning over @killatrav’s Eras Tour debut 🥰,” she wrote, adding she’s “never going to forget” these London shows. The singer performed for three nights in June at Wembley Stadium and will return for  five more shows in August .

Taylor Swift will not extend her record-breaking Eras Tour into 2025, the singer announced, which means she'll end the U.S. run of the tour with her three-night stop at Lucas Oil Stadium this November.

The 34-year-old shared the news onstage in Liverpool, England — the 100th show on her massive world tour.

"This is the very first time I’ve ever acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is going to end in December," Swift said.

More from USA TODAY: Taylor Swift to end record-breaking Eras Tour in December, singer announces

"This tour has really become my entire life, it's taken over everything, like I think I once had hobbies," she joked.

She'll perform in Indianapolis Nov. 1-3, at Lucas Oil Stadium, before heading to Canada, where she'll perform in Toronto and Vancouver.

Here's the speech she gave to fans:

Eras Tour ticket prices soar, and Indy is no exception

The singer announced the first leg of her stadium tour in November 2022. Initially the tour was to span 27 shows and serve as a musical journey through her career. She later expanded to 66 shows for the first year and 86 in the second, visiting nearly two dozen countries.

The Indianapolis shows were announced in late summer 2023 , and fans immediately scrambled for access to Ticketmaster presales and waitlists.

Ticketmaster woes: 'Do we even have a chance?' Fans have fingers crossed for Taylor Swift tickets

This tour has been notoriously difficult to score tickets to; Ticketmaster canceled a planned general onsale for the tour in November 2022 due to "extraordinarily high demands on ticketing systems." The meltdown was so bad U.S. senators eventually grilled executives of Live Nation Entertainment over their practices. The Justice Department, 29 states (not including Indiana) and the District of Columbia have since sued Live Nation , Ticketmaster's parent company, alleging it has monopolized live events.

Some fans who had hoped to snag tickets for Swift in Indianapolis eventually decided to fly to Paris to see her relaunch the tour for its European leg, saying it was cheaper to book the flight, accommodations and concert tickets overseas than it was to attend an Indianapolis performance.

Eras Tour a hot ticket: Fans who considered buying tickets to Indy shows saved money at the Eras Tour shows in Paris

Ticketmaster still shows all three Indianapolis dates as sold out, but tickets are available via third-party resale sites. As of June 14, the cheapest resale ticket to any of the Indianapolis shows was $1,897 on SeatGeek and $2,040 on StubHub.

Eras Tour setlist varies by city

In her speech to Liverpool fans, Swift joked that her new hobby when not on stage is to "sit at home and try to think of clever acoustic song mashups and think about what you might want to hear."

The acoustic section of her show has been unique to every city, and she began mashing up her songs this year, USA TODAY reported. She still has about 30 songs in her discography to perform .

Dad of Swifties:

Why don't the government remove VAT on concert tickets like in other countries and announce stronger regulation on sites like Ticketmaster? Prices are a joke

Here's what  Ian King , our business presenter, says on this one...

Labour promised not to increase the rate of VAT during the election campaign.

That is very different from cutting it or making some products and services tax free.

I'd be surprised if it happened. The government needs to raise money, not give it away.

That said, I note that US Congress has recently been talking about tougher regulation of businesses like Ticketmaster, so doubtless parliamentarians on this side of the Atlantic will be watching closely.

May I ask who is likely to be eligible for the proposed new housing as outlined today? I have a son of 43 and his wife living with us as they can't afford a mortgage, and aren't eligible for social housing. Not everyone in Britain wants the responsibility of owning a house.

Ian King , Sky News business presenter, says...

Labour is aiming for increasing housing availability across the board with a mix of both public/social housing and also private sector accommodation – while also looking to stimulate the "build to rent" sector.

It's not a case of eligibility, as such.

They're seeking to increase supply in the first instance – get that right and demand will be met.

Haven't we heard all this before with housebuilding targets - what's different this time?

Good question – which reminds me that one of the most dangerous phrases in investment and business is "it's different this time".

What genuinely appears to be different is that Labour seem totally committed to sweeping away the planning rules and regulations that stand in the way of more homes being built.

If they can pull this off then, all other things being equal, they will have a fighting chance of completing 1.5 million new homes over the life of this parliament.

The other thing I would say is that this is a hugely ambitious target and so Labour, by making it public, have confidence it can be done.

You can rest assured that Labour will be asked about it a lot towards the next general election.

The political graveyards are littered with those politicians – Harold Macmillan, Conservative prime minister from 1957-1963, is a good example – who made promises on housebuilding they failed to keep.

The last government promised an end to no-fault evictions... is this legislation still alive?

Another short answer from our business presenter  Ian King ...

The legislation died with the last government but, yes, the expectation is that Labour will abolish no-fault evictions.

What will Labour do with dividend tax? And what about corporation tax?

Rachel Reeves is already committed to keeping corporation tax unchanged for the life of this parliament.

But no such commitments have been forthcoming on the taxation of dividends.

And some people fear the worst because Labour has form here - Gordon Brown took away tax relief on the dividends that pension funds received on their investments in 1997 - which contributed to the near extinction of gold-plated "defined benefit" or "final salary" pension schemes in the private sector.

In fairness, Labour can point out that the Conservatives also stripped away protections enjoyed by savers on their dividends.

You can now only receive dividends of £500 on shares or investment funds held outside an ISA. The allowance stood at 10 times that just seven years ago.

The moral of the story is clear – if you hold shares or investment funds which pay dividends, protect them in an ISA, which ensures the payouts will be tax-free.

If memory serves me correctly weren't the railways an unmitigated disaster last time they were in public ownership? How is renationalising meant to help anyone?

Here's what  Ian King , our business presenter, says to this...

Labour argues that, in state ownership, the rail network can be more coherent with one "fat controller" type figure in charge to oversee timetables and ticketing.

Bear in mind most of the railways more or less have been renationalised already – the exception being the rolling stock companies, which will remain privately owned.

You are right to point out the shortcomings of the nationalised model – as I did in this article for Sky News back in 2017 .

The nationalised model is not a silver bullet – as English and Scottish football supporters to have used Germany's nationalised rail service during the Euros will testify.

We heard nothing in the campaign about how growth would be achieved - how much convincing detail did we get from Reeves?

The UK's sclerotic planning rules have been a major drag on growth over the last decade.

If Labour has found a way of obviating those rules then it should generate growth. But bear in mind this is going to cause huge rows as Whitehall orders local planning managers what to do and rides roughshod over them when they don't co-operate.

Not everyone will like it and especially those who find their views interrupted by, for example, new homes. The same applies to tearing up the rules banning more onshore wind farms.

All other things being equal, it should also be positive for growth, but those who have views of open countryside blighted by new wind turbines may disagree.

Croydon Ajay:

Can anything be done to scrap the disparities in stamp duty which means young buyers in London have to pay when the same people in the North East don't pay a penny?

Stamp duty is a rotten tax and, if you want to promote growth, scrapping it would certainly be a good way of doing so. But given that Stamp Duty Land Tax brought in £11.6bn in the last financial year, the government is likely to want to keep it in place.

The differing tax takes to which you refer reflect the fact that house prices are cheaper in the North East than in London.

SDLT is very much a London tax – the capital accounted for 36% of all SDLT paid in 2021-22, the latest year for which figures are available.

Homebuyers in the London borough of Westminster alone paid more SDLT than the whole of the North West of England. I doubt those disparities to which you refer will change unless house prices in London collapse and house prices rocket elsewhere.

You are right to point out the pernicious effects of this.

In some London boroughs, primary schools are starting to close, because parents find they cannot live in the capital and raise a family. They're moving out – reducing demand for London school places in some areas.

Disgruntled:

Ian can you give us an idea of how much scrapping the two-child benefit cap would cost and why is this not achievable with a windfall tax on oil and gas companies raking it in? Starmer is a Tory with a red rosette

The Resolution Foundation has estimated that the two-child benefit cap will save the government £2.5bn during the current financial year – which would rise to £3.6bn if applied to all families claiming universal credit.

Labour is committed to raising the levy on North Sea oil and gas producers from the current 75% to 78% - and has earmarked the money raised will go towards funding its wider plans for energy and, in particular, decarbonisation.

It would be ill-advised to raise taxes further. The decisions it has made have already had an impact on investment in the North Sea, as I report here .

And don't forget, the cap is not just about saving money. It's also about avoiding awkward newspaper headlines and stories about big families being paid a small fortune in benefits of the kind that embarrassed the last Labour government and angered so many of its traditional working-class supporters in particular.
