All Events in A Dusty Trip and how to deal with them (Wind Update)

Image of Vignesh Raja

From sudden sandstorms to resource scarcity, A Dusty Trip is full of events that can challenge your survival skills . This guide lists all these events and provides practical strategies, ensuring you're always prepared.

How to deal with all A Dusty Trip Events - Roblox

Below, you can find the list of all the conditions in the game and the methods to deal with them.

Drive-By Shooting

a trip event

The Drive-By Shooting is a unique event after 5000M in A Dusty Trip. In it, you will find a group of fully armed NPCs driving a van and shooting at you. If they manage to hit you, it will immediately kill you and cause you to lose all your progress. So, how do you counter them? You can quickly identify the mob from their vehicle's V8 engine, which produces intense noise from miles away. Using this sound clue, stay inside a nearby building. But, if you cannot find one, stay inside the car and travel in the opposite direction. Still, you will take some damage if the bullets penetrate through your windows.

An Image of a player affected by Heatwaves in a Dusty Trip

Heatwaves are random. When they appear, they will make your screen turn red, wobble, and have a mirage-like effect, making your players sweat a lot. Though they don't reduce your health, your hunger will decrease twice as fast, and you can only overcome it by eating more food than normal. Consistently storing a lot of food in the trunk will ensure you're always prepared for any heatwaves you do encounter.

An Image of a player spotting a sandbug hill in a Dusty Trip

You can find several Sandbug hills or holes throughout the map. Each one of these will contain a handful of the annoying insects. They are passive creatures and won't do anything other than temporarily blinding you for a while. So, the only advice is, please don't touch them; even if you do, you won't take any damage or deal with any issue beyond temporary blindness.

Related : What is the ending in A Dusty Trip?

An Image of a player driving through sandstorm in a Dusty Trip

Sandstorms are similar to thunderstorms but are much easier to counter. During a sandstorm, heavy gusts of winds blow towards you and your car, damaging your health. To avoid this, always close the four doors of your vehicle. That's it! You can keep driving without worrying about anything. But if you are on an ATV or motorbike, you can do nothing other than stay at a nearby building until the sandstorm passes.

Solar Eclipse

An Image of a player spotting a solar eclipse in a Dusty Trip

When a Solar Eclipse occurs, your surroundings and screen will turn dark. To avoid this, stop looking at the Solar Eclipse, as it will further darken the screen, and continue with what you were doing. The screen will return to its standard color after the eclipse finishes in 10 to 15 seconds.

Thunderstorm

An Image of a player standing surviving a thunderstorm in a Dusty Trip

Thunderstorms are everyday events in A Dusty Trip. You can find them frequently after crossing the 1500M mark every 10 seconds. It will rain heavily during a thunderstorm, with lightning striking at random locations. The best way to counter a thunderstorm is to take temporary shelter inside a building, as the lightning will kill you if you don't have any rigid protection. You can also drive during a thunderstorm with any four-wheeled vehicle, but please prepare to lose all your gas, the health of your car, and even some of your health if struck randomly by a bolt of lightning.

An Image of a player driving through tornado in a Dusty Trip

Like real life, a tornado resembles a funnel-shaped moving cloud that can destroy your vehicle and send all its parts randomly flying through the air if you drive through it. However, the probability of that happening is low, as you can quickly identify any tornado miles away and change the direction of your car to a safe one or find any building near your vicinity. If you do take shelter, bring your vehicle inside the building, as the tornado will tear your car apart if parked outside.

An Image of a player spotting a UFO in a Dusty Trip

While traveling through the desert, you may encounter UFOs at random locations. Many players say that UFOs may kidnap you if you stare at them for a while, eliminating you from the game. Still, these are just rumors, and nobody has concrete proof about exactly what they do for now. I suggest ignoring the UFOs, giving them a wide berth, and continue driving.

Vehicle Troubles

Fully Assembled Car

Once in a while, your vehicle may stop for some unknown reasons, even if you have adequate fuel, engine oil, or water for your radiators. These are called Vehicle Troubles, and the only way to move forward is to reassemble the automobile from scratch. So, disable and fix it again to move forward. We've got complete guides on how to fix your car and how to fix your van in A Dusty Trip , should you need some further assistance diagnosing and resolving the issue.

A strong wind blowing in A Dsuty Trip

Sometimes, a strong gush of wind blows horizontally in any direction. This mighty wind can throw your vehicle off balance, tumbling into the desert, and will lead to your death. So, how do you save yourself from this event? Well, apply the  handbrake  and sit tight until the wind goes away.

Festival tours

Woman dancing in colourful red and yellow costumes, with headdresses at the Rio carnival in Brazil

For us, festivals are the smell of incense, the fizz of fireworks and the twinkling lights of a Christmas market.

They arrive with the thunder of bespeckled dancers and wind down like a Munich beer hall hangover. They’re the lantern-lit, confetti-filled, mud-slinging reminder that life is there to be enjoyed to the max, and that there’s no such thing as too much fun in the name of pomp and ceremony.

From the embers of a fire pit in Papua New Guinea and the graveyards of Mexico to the tulip fields and orange groves of  Europe , festival season never truly dies – and we’ve got your private pass all ready to go. It’s time to strap on your sandals, pick up some maracas and dive right in.

You haven’t partied properly if you haven’t done it in  Rio during Carnival  – and that’s a promise. Whether you want to watch a parade of elaborate floats featuring costumed dancers showing off their best moves, join a conga line of colorfully clad locals snaking their way through the surging streets or perfect your samba steps so you can blend in with the Carioca crowds, prepare your mind, body, and soul for the biggest party on earth.

As if your 9-day trek through the steamy rainforests of  Rwanda  in search of wildlife you’re used to seeing in books wasn’t good enough, you’ll also get the opportunity to participate in the Kwita Izina ceremony; a naming ceremony for the baby gorillas born in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park during the year. Celebrate this park’s protection efforts and revel in the festivities that encompass this special and unique conservation event.

There are  few experiences  that could make an unforgettable trip to the tropical island of  Vanuatu  any better but witnessing the incredible naghol festival – where local, indigenous men jump from high platforms as part of a coming-of-age ritual - is definitely one of them. Paving the way for present-day bungee jumping, this land-diving ceremony will undoubtedly take your breath away and give you an insight into the Melanesian culture that few visitors ever get to see.

Discover a different side of  Mexico  on one of two trips that’ll lead you straight into the heart of this haunting celebration. From visiting local cemeteries to see how families decorate the graves of their ancestors and creating a traditional altar in TIahuac to watching the colorful and incredible  Day of the Dead  parade as it spills through the streets of Mexico City, your trip will be filled with all of the cultural experiences that make this ceremonial festival one to remember.

The Plains Events

  • 1.1 How To Survive a Crashing Plane
  • 2 Acid Rain
  • 3 Falling tree:
  • 6 Pink fog:

Crashing Plane [ ]

A crashing plane will always spawn close to the starting area (~300m) but can also generate randomly at any time. When a plane is about to crash, you'll hear audio cues such as beeping or turbine noises. To avoid being hit, it's best to start driving backward or forward rather than continuing in a straight line, as the plane is falling from behind and is essentially targeting you. The damage it deals varies widely: a direct hit can instantly kill you, while being near the crash site might only cause minor to moderate damage.

How To Survive a Crashing Plane [ ]

Move out of the way or find cover. The plane is essentially targeting your car so driving backward or forward instead of in a straight line can help you evade it.

If you're walking, the plane will always crash ~100m behind you since it's script is related to the player being inside the car and driving it, as opposed to the player simply walking it.

Acid Rain [ ]

An Acid Rain event occurs randomly, turning the sky green and producing thunderbolts. Similar to a thunderstorm, acid rain poses a threat. Seek shelter under solid objects like buildings or vehicles to survive.

Falling tree: [ ]

A large tree is in the middle of the road, when you get close to it, it will fall, and touching it will damage you. It despawns a few seconds after falling.

Meteors: [ ]

The sky turns red and dark, and meteors begin to fall. If a meteor hits you, it will be fatal, and it will also damage your car. Dark red spots on the ground indicate where the meteors will land

Falling ice cubes descend from above, but they have no impact or effect.

Pink fog: [ ]

In an area spanning approximately 1000 meters, your screen will turn pink, and circles will appear at regular intervals on your location. As long as you keep moving (even walking), you can easily avoid these circles. However, if you remain within the circles and fail to move away, a large meteor will hit the area of the circle making a large explosion, resulting in death on impact. To survive, simply keep moving and avoid the marked areas.(this is just meteors I think)

Resources and Knowledge for the Small Business CEO

How to organize travel and events for a business trip.

A well-organized business trip for your team can transform your business. It will not only pick up everyone’s spirits because it’s always fun to go on a shared adventure to a new location, but it will lead to new connections and strategic partnerships.

It’s even better if you can organize the trip around an event, either one that you’re attending or one that you’re hosting. This will help structure your trip around a clear outcome.

Business team travel planning

Here are all things that need to be done to make your trip and event profitable and fun:

Table of Contents

Arranging the Use of a Virtual Office

Many major cities have virtual offices. If, for example, you are traveling to California, consider taking advantage of the benefits of Modi virtual offices Irvine . Located in the heart of a thriving business center, it will create just the right image for your business—without the expense of setting one up from scratch. For instance, you can use services like call answering, shared office space, private furnished offices, conference rooms, and phone answering services. Everything will be set up in your company’s name.

Besides giving your team a place to work, it’s also a place where you can invite guests and build business relationships. You can use this office to manage your event, conduct business, and develop new client ventures.

Attending or Organizing the Event

If the event is something you’re attending, say an industry conference, then, your work is cut out for you—all you have to do show up, network, and learn as much as you can from the speakers and fellow attendees.

If the event is something, you’re sponsoring, then it’s best to work with an event management agency This third-party has built strategic relationships with hotels. Consequently, when you tell them about your needs, they will coordinate with the best hotels to arrange accommodation, catering, and breakout rooms for your event. In many cases, they don’t charge you a fee because they will make their money from the hotel who will share a percentage of the group booking income.

Making Travel Arrangements

Good planning is essential for success. Without it, your entire trip will be mired in chaos and confusion. As Peter Drucker once said, “Action without planning is the cause of every failure.”

So where do you begin?

First, gather up all the information that relates to your business trip: the destination , the executives who will be traveling with you, the schedule, the travel details (flights, taxis, etc), and any particular preferences you or your group might have in terms of lodging, food, etc.

Second, once you have a good idea of all the diverse elements involved start making reservations, buying tickets, booking hotels, and so on. If you’re lucky enough to be flying using a private jet charter , you can rest a bit easier knowing that all of the flight details will be handled perfectly.

Third, communicate all the travel arrangements to the executives who will be making the trip, so that everyone knows exactly when and how to prepare for it. Advanced notice will also give you room to manage any surprising scenarios or any change of travel or accommodation plans.

In making your travel arrangements, here are 7 things that you should keep in mind:

  • The basic objectives of the business trip and the event.
  • How much to budget for the trip.
  • If your company organized similar business trips in the past, think about what you can learn from the experience. If you had a conference, but it was poorly attended, then you know that you need to start selling tickets to the conference earlier.
  • The relevant personal information from all the executives who are traveling with you so that you can arrange for their tickets and accommodations.
  • All travel-related permissions. You will need to make sure that everyone has an up-to-date passport, visa, and vaccination forms.
  • In some cases, you may have to consider if your trip will need to accommodate other people—for instance, spouses, secretaries, attending physicians, etc.
  • Trips to and from airports are essential to get right so that everyone stays together and travels as a group, or at the least in a coordinated way to your chosen destinations. Also, gather as much information as possible about travel related issues, for instance, business protection basics in the event of an accident , and frequent flyer miles.

In conclusion, organizing travel and events for a business trip involves a lot of details. In order to coordinate everything well, it’s necessary to start planning months ahead.

Why are FAM trips important to event agencies?

FAM (familiarisation) trips are a vital learning tool for TAG's Events team. Our event managers are focused on delivering the best possible experience for our clients – and these inspections ensure that we have first-hand product knowledge and can advise on exactly what to expect. Read on to learn more.

What is a FAM trip anyway?

A FAM trip (or familiarisation trip) is where events planners (and/or potential clients) are invited by a supplier to experience a hotel or an activity first-hand. The supplier shows off what they can offer, so the events manager can develop a better understanding of their services and envision how the event would work before proposing the idea to the client.

How does this benefit our clients?

1. FAM trips play an important role in scouting out the very best locations for our clients . We only want to work with the best suppliers – and our events managers are hard to impress – so it’s important that we experience venues and services for ourselves. The events team attend FAM trips in locations that are relevant to their work or clients, whether it be a city that regularly comes up in event briefs, or whether it could be a “wildcard” destination in a proposal.

2. Our event managers are always in the know. They strive to develop their product knowledge, so you can be certain that the advice you receive on hotels, venues and any other suppliers is accurate and up to date. This enables our clients to make informed decisions because we have seen the quality of the bedrooms, the standard of the food and drink, and the level of customer service you would receive on-site.

strong connections

3. It’s about strengthening the relationships between TAG, our suppliers and key contacts. This brings huge benefits to our clients because it ensures a smooth booking process and means we can negotiate excellent rates for you.

4. We keep our clients in mind. When our event managers attend FAM events, they keep our clients in mind. For example, if they’re exploring a new venue, they’ll keep an eye out for the specific features and characteristics that clients would appreciate. We will always be thinking about new opportunities for you.

What TAG Events say…

“I recently attended a FAM trip with a hotel supplier in Paris and I found it very worthwhile. I experienced first-hand the hotel’s excellent customer service and high-end décor, so I felt confident when proposing the venue for a corporate summer party enquiry. We ultimately booked the accommodation and event space at the hotel, and I liaised with the supplier contact I made on the FAM trip.”

How FAM trips and event strategy can elevate your brand

a trip event

We’re all guilty of it. One minute you’re aimlessly scrolling through your Instagram feed, killing time before your kid’s soccer practice wraps up or your next appointment starts, when suddenly something catches your eye. Maybe it’s a post of someone using a power drill which reminds you that you need to get going on that bathroom reno, new running shoes that you’re positive will finally give you the motivation you need to start running twice a week, or a picture of that resort in Baja you’ve been dying to stay at, like, forever. Whatever it is, it’s enough to prompt you to click the ‘buy’ button–and that’s exactly why influencer marketing and media coverage is so effective.

Whether your company is launching a new product or looking to showcase a destination, proven ways to generate excitement and awareness are by hosting a FAM trip or planning a brand activation.

What is a FAM trip?

Traditionally, a familiarization trip–commonly called a FAM trip or FAM–is when a destination or tourism brand hosts media, travel agents or suppliers for an experience, This could be something as simple as an afternoon hike highlighting offerings from a few providers capped off with a farm-to-table dinner, to a weeklong, all-expenses paid trip to a luxury resort in Thailand. The idea is that the resulting media coverage leads to more bookings, while agents on the supplier side are more knowledgeable about the products they’re pushing which can increase sales.

“You don’t know what you don’t know, and attending FAM trips is a quick and easy way to get insider access to a destination,” explains travel writer Jody Robbins , who goes on hosted trips multiple times a year to research upcoming articles. “A good FAM trip will not only familiarize you with the destination, but will uncover a new perspective.”

Now that bloggers and influencers have developed so much klout and loyal audiences, FAMs are expanding to include this type of new media and trips are no longer just tourism focused. Forward-thinking companies are putting together customized brand activations which give influencers an opportunity to connect with and use their products, creating content they can then share organically with their followers.

“In the past, most companies would launch new products at trade shows and through press releases, which is somewhat effective but not very exciting,” says Aaron Sales, co-founder of Global Sessions which has worked with brands like Nike to support their brand influencer programs. “Today, consumers and media desire authentic experiences that allow them to fully understand and appreciate the product. When you feel a product in your own hands and can have a direct conversation with the designer or someone knowledgeable and passionate about the product, you immediately become an ambassador. It’s one thing to read a one-pager on the latest and greatest, but it’s completely different when you get to cast the rod from shore and hook into a 12 pound trout with the owner of the company.”

Nike brought in Global Sessions to develop the event strategy for a product launch , where they presented new apparel to a group of fashion bloggers, photographers and media from high-profile outlets like Vogue , HYPEBEAST and Gear Patrol. Global Sessions sourced a venue to put Nike’s ACG React Terra Gobe shoe to the test and provide an incredible backdrop to create content, as well as arrange transportation, meals, lodging and experiences.

How to make a familiarization trip successful

Many companies that host FAM trips or influencer marketing events bring in a third-party agency to assist with things like the run of show and venue finding services, and benefit from their insider knowledge.

“Logistics and timing are hugely important factors in running a successful FAM tour,” says Kieron Weidner from First Nature Tours , which is a longtime partner of Global Sessions. His company works with destination marketing organizations (DMOs) like Travel Oregon and Brand USA by providing professional guides, luxury transportation and expert insight into each area.

“Things often take longer than anticipated, and it’s important to know the destinations and attractions well enough to plan accordingly. Also, having relationships in place with key partners can assist in hosting the group, and providing the kind of experience that will really sell the participants on the destination.”

On the media side, journalists appreciate a bit of flexibility and free time built into schedules to give them time to properly explore based on their interests.

“One of the best FAM trips I was on offered two different half-day blocks we could choose from,” Robbins recalls. “One block was culinary, the other family travel, another outdoor adventure, etcetera. Everyone split into different groups and got the [story] angles they needed.”

She adds that including a unique experience is also appreciated, as well as getting an opportunity to meet the locals.

“One example is when I did a UK FAM that took us into Oxfordshire and Highclere House, AKA Downton Abbey. Anyone can tour Highclere House, but this was memorable for a few reasons: it was timely because the movie was coming out in a few months, and it was bucket list-worthy. Sure, you can do it on your own, but that takes some effort and our FAM timed it just right with not only a tour and tea, but an evening performance where we could wander through the castle at will.

“Our FAM had organized a tea with Lady Carnarvon, the mistress of the house. Having unhurried time with her was not only invaluable for my story, but is something I’ll never forget.”

What to avoid when planning FAM tours

The most important thing to remember when planning a media visit or influencer marketing event is that one size does not fit all . Many organizers are guilty of cramming in too many different activities to try and showcase everything, which means participants barely have enough time to properly experience it, never mind actually create content. It’s almost always better to spend more time at fewer places.

“It’s important to balance the learning and site inspections with time to truly relax and enjoy the destination, and [travel advisors] won’t want to return with a group if they don’t enjoy their overall experience,” Weidner says.

He suggests setting accurate expectations for the participants well in advance, and always calling ahead to keep partners updated with arrival time and group size to ensure the experience moves smoothly, Most importantly, be informed.

“Know the answers to the questions that your participants need to know.”

How to Use Your Calendar for Travel

There are many benefits to traveling , such as:

  • Travel may reduce heart disease risk, according to research .
  • One of the most significant benefits of traveling is stress relief. Even a short vacation can help reduce stress, according to a study of 40 German middle managers published in July 2018 in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health .
  • Regular travelers (defined as trips at least 75 miles from home) report being 7 percent happier than those who travel rarely or not at all, according to research on a Taiwanese population published in January 2021 in the journal Tourism Analysis .
  • It may be helpful for you to travel if you’re feeling burned out. Social scientist Adam Galinsky has found that travel and creativity go hand-in-hand, according to his study at Columbia University .
  • Traveling can naturally encourage more movement and physical activity if you spend most of the day at a desk.

The downside, however, is that traveling can be stressful and involve much work. Everything from flights to accommodations to activities and sightseeing needs to be planned. You can quickly become overwhelmed if you don’t have a sound system for keeping track of everything.

It’s here that your calendar comes in handy. How? When planning a trip, an organized calendar can save the day. You won’t forget anything, since you can keep track of everything in one place.

Let me show you how to use your calendar for travel in this blog post. You’ll learn how to create a travel calendar, add events, and keep an organized calendar.

Creating a Travel Calendar

Step 1: pick a calendar tool that works for you..

A travel calendar can be created with various tools. The most popular options are a physical planner, spreadsheet, or travel planning app .

  • When choosing a physical planner, ensure it has enough space for all your travel details. Additionally, you’ll need to decide whether you want a daily planner or a weekly planner.
  • Make a table in a spreadsheet listing the dates of your travel, flight information, accommodations, and activities you plan to do. Keeping track of your budget and expenses can also be done using a spreadsheet.
  • Travel planning apps offer a wide range of features. The most popular apps are Google Trips, TripIt, and Kayak Trips. Your travel calendar can be created, flights and accommodations tracked, and activities in your destination found using these apps.

Step 2: Gather information about your trip.

After selecting your calendar tool, gather all the information about your trip. You must provide information regarding your flight, accommodation, and activities.

If you have received an email confirmation of your flight, you can find it on your airline’s website. Hotels or hostels should provide information about your accommodations. In addition, you can get activity information from friends, family, and travel websites.

Step 3: Add your travel information to your calendar.

Your calendar can be updated once you have all the travel information. Every activity should be listed with the date, time, and location. If you know the cost of the activity or the organizer’s contact information, you should also include it.

Step 4: Make notes.

Remember to note anything vital as you enter travel information into your calendar. You may want to find out about the weather forecast, your activities’ dress codes, or how to get around the area.

Step 5: Review your calendar.

After you have entered all your travel information into your calendar, review it. All information should be accurate and conflict-free. Additionally, you should ensure you have enough time to accomplish all your goals.

Step 6: Share your calendar.

When you travel with others, you can share your calendar . By doing this, everyone will stay on the same page and ensure everyone is always on the same page.

Adding Travel Events to Your Calendar

It is possible to add events to your calendar in various ways. Here are some options:

  • Your calendar app will automatically display event details when you type them in.
  • You can import events from other calendar apps or websites.
  • Recurring events can include weekly business check-ins or family vacations.

The following is a general guide to adding travel events to your calendar:

  • Organize your trip by creating a new calendar. By doing this, you will be able to separate your travel events from your personal and work events
  • Put a descriptive name on your new calendar, such as “My Summer Vacation.”
  • Add events to your calendar. In addition to the event’s date, time, place, and purpose, ensure you include all the details.
  • You can add travel time to your events if you travel by plane, train, or bus. Making sure you arrive on time will help you avoid delays.
  • When you add your events, you’ll be able to add the address and phone number of the hotel you’re staying at. Any time you need to contact the hotel, this will come in handy.
  • You should also schedule meals, sightseeing, and other important events on your calendar.

Organizing your travel events begins when you add them all to your calendar. If you find it challenging to keep track of all your events, you can color-code them, create sub-calendars, or use other features.

You will be able to stay organized and make the most of your trip if you have all your travel events on your calendar.

Your travel calendar can be enhanced by adding these events:

  • When entering event details, please be as detailed as possible. By following this routine, you’ll avoid confusion and ensure that nothing important is missed.
  • Make sure your events have consistent naming conventions. You will be able to find events more easily this way.
  • Ensure your events are color-coded. Using this method makes it easy to identify the type of event.
  • Make use of a travel planning app. Organizing your trip and adding events to your calendar is made easy with many great travel planning apps.

With these tips, you can keep track of your next trip and add events to your travel calendar.

Here are some additional tips.

  • A separate calendar can be created for each destination if you travel to multiple locations. Stay organized and ensure you don’t miss anything important by keeping track of your travel plans.
  • To add travel time to your events, you can also use Google Maps. You can access Google Maps by clicking on the “Location” field when creating an event. You can enter the start and end locations in Google Maps. Your event will be updated with the estimated travel time calculated by Google Maps.
  • Your calendar can be shared with a group if you’re traveling together. As a result, everyone will be on the same page and know where and when they need to be.

Keeping Your Travel Calendar Organized

Your calendar should be organized once all your events are added to it. By doing this, you’ll avoid last-minute surprises and stay on track.

For an organized travel calendar, follow these tips:

Choose a calendar app that works for you.

Many calendar apps are available, so find one that suits your needs and is easy to use. Google Calendar , Apple Calendar, and Outlook Calendar are some of the most popular calendar apps.

Plan ahead as early as possible.

It will be easier to organize your calendar if you begin planning your trip as soon as possible. You’ll have plenty of time to book flights, hotels, and activities and coordinate everything.

Put all the details of your travel on your calendar.

The dates you need to keep track of include your flights, hotel reservations, activities, transportation, and anything else that might be important. To stay on track, ensure your calendar has as much information as possible.

Make use of colors and labels.

In your calendar, colors and labels can make it easier to see what’s happening. Depending on the type of event, such as flights, hotels, and activities, you could use a different color.

Set reminders for important dates.

As a result, you won’t miss any important deadlines or events. If you want, you can set reminders for your flights, hotel check-in times, activity reservations, and any other important event.

Sync your calendar with your devices.

By doing this, you can access your calendar from anywhere. It is even possible to sync your calendar with your phone, tablet, laptop, and even your watch.

Back up your calendar regularly.

In the event of a computer crash or other disaster, you will be able to protect your travel information. An external hard drive or the cloud are good places to back up your calendar.

Maintaining an organized travel calendar and ensuring a smooth trip can be achieved by following these tips.

In addition to these tips, here are a few others that will help you stay organized on your trip:

  • Plan your trip using a template or checklist . You’ll be less likely to forget anything if you do this.
  • Bring a printed copy of your calendar with you. You’ll need this if you don’t have access to the internet.
  • Don’t forget to bring a portable charger for your phone so that you are always able to access your calendar
  • If you take screenshots, your hotel and flight confirmations can be stored on your phone.
  • Ensure you have a backup plan in case your flight is canceled or delayed.

Staying organized and on track while traveling can be achieved with the help of your calendar. With the tips listed above, you can create a travel calendar to make your trip a breeze.

What is the best way to plan my trip using my calendar?

You can plan your trip using your calendar by creating events for each activity. The list includes flights, hotel stays, tours, and any other activities you have planned. Budgeting and expense tracking can also be done with your calendar.

When traveling, you can also utilize your calendar in many ways. Listed below are a few suggestions:

  • Make a packing or to-do list.
  • Track your expenses.
  • Book reservations.
  • Setting reminders on your calendar can help you stay on top of important tasks.

How do I add travel plans to my calendar?

Your calendar can be updated in a few different ways. For each leg of your trip, you can create an event manually. Any relevant details, such as date, time, and location, can be included.

Alternatively, you can use a travel planning tool to automatically add your travel plans to your calendar. In addition to booking flights and hotels, these tools can also assist you in making other travel arrangements.

What should I do if I plan to travel in different time zones?

You’ll need to ensure that the times on your calendar are correct for your time zone when adding travel plans. If you manually add the time zone to each event, you can do this by setting your calendar to the appropriate time zone .

How do I add travel time to my calendar events?

It is possible to add travel time to your events in some calendars. As a result, the travel time to your event will be automatically added to its start time. This can be helpful if you want to arrive on time for your appointments.

Feeling Olympic FOMO? Start Planning Now for the Next Games in Italy

Aaa shares travel advice as the summer olympics kick off in paris this month.

a trip event

WASHINGTON, DC (July 16, 2024) – Have you ever watched the Olympics on TV and thought to yourself “I’d love to see the Games in person one day”? You’re not alone. For many people, attending the Olympics is a bucket-list item. And nowadays more travelers, especially young people , are willing to go the extra mile for a live event. If you’re ready to stop dreaming about it and start making it happen, consider these tips from AAA.

Summer or Winter? The Olympic Games are held every two years in different cities around the world. After Paris, the next Olympics are the 2026 Winter Games in Milan-Cortina, Italy. In 2028, the Summer Olympics return to the United States and will be held in Los Angeles. Decide which experience you want – colder climate or warmer weather – and which location you prefer – overseas or closer to home!

Connect with a Travel Agent. Planning a big trip around a major event can feel overwhelming. Experienced travel agents can walk you through the process. Flights are released 11 months out, so if you’re considering the Italy Olympics in February 2026, you won’t be able to book flights until March 2025. Lodging may be one of your biggest expenses. For example, AAA booking data shows Paris hotels during the Summer Olympics are more than 100% more expensive this year compared to last.

Protect Your Investment. When you’re spending time and money planning a once-in-a-lifetime trip, you don’t want to leave much to chance. Obtaining travel insurance during the booking process protects you from unforeseen events, like medical emergencies or trip interruption.

Planning to Drive?  If you’re planning to rent a car, consider getting an International Driving Permit (IDP), which translates your driver’s license information into 10 languages. Some countries – including Italy – require it. AAA is the only entity in the U.S. authorized by the State Department to issue an IDP. But don’t apply for one too early: IDPs can’t be issued more than six months in advance of your trip.

Extend your Trip. After you’ve attended the Olympic events of your choice (always buy tickets through the official site), stay longer and explore other cities – or even countries – in the region!  Trip Canvas , a free AAA travel planning tool, allows you to browse itineraries and get inspired. Your travel agent can find deals on tours that will immerse you in the culture and guide you through areas beyond the Olympic venues!

Scenes from Vice President Kamala Harris' trip to a Fayetteville high school Thursday

Vice President Kamala Harris finishes up her speech during a campaign stop in Fayetteville at Westover High School on Thursday, July 18, 2024.

Editor's note: This is an updated version of the original story. A Cumberland County Schools spokesman said the cheerleaders mentioned in this story are not current students.

Vice President Kamala Harris took the stage at Westover High School on Thursday to campaign for the reelection of President Joe Biden.

Harris' remarks, which lasted about 15 minutes, were preceded by several local politicians and business people who touted Biden's successes and led the hundreds of supporters at the rally in chants denouncing Donald Trump's policies.

At one point, the crowd spontaneously erupted into a chorus of "Four more years!"

Gov. Roy Cooper remarks before Kamala Harris take the podium | 2:40

Gov. Roy Cooper announced Harris' arrival but before doing so, he made a series of statements about Trump, asking after each, "Do we want Donald Trump's America?" to which the crowd replied, "No!"

"This election is not just about what kind of president we want to have. This election is about what kind of country we want to be," Cooper said as the crowd cheered. "Donald Trump's America is where the wealthy get the breaks and the working families get the shaft. ... Donald Trump's America is where the end of Roe V. Wade is a great thing and politicians police women's bodies. ... Donald Trump's America is where it's easier to get an assault rifle than it is to get healthcare. ... Donald Trump's America is where the president is a convicted felon, a chronic liar and the king of chaos. ... Four years ago we told Donald Trump, 'You're fired!'"

Fayetteville's Mayor Mitch Colvin and Sen. Applewhite take to the stage | 1:45 p.m.

Fayetteville Mayor Mitch Colvin took to the stage shortly before 1:30 p.m.

"She and President Biden have delivered so much for Fayetteville and for North Carolina and now we are ready to deliver for them," Colvin said from the podium in advance of Harris' appearance. "I have served as mayor under President Biden and the other president and I can tell you firsthand there is a clear distinction

"Unfortunately, Trump's failed leadership led many businesses to close."

Colvin said a second Trump term would be disastrous and he alluded to the recent Supreme Court ruling — made by the majority conservative court with two Trump nominees — that overturned the decades-long protection of women's right to abortion.

Colvin said a Trump reelection would "would rip away reproductive freedoms from our women."

"Let's flip this city and this county blue on Nov. 5," he said.

State Sen. Val Applewhite, a former member of the Fayetteville City Council, also spoke to the crowd, touting Biden's accomplishments and decrying Project 2025, being touted by some as a handbook for Trump's second term.

Newsweek reported the 900-page document , crafted by the conservative think-tank, Heritage Foundation, "includes policies that would uniquely affect women, including a clampdown on federal funding for abortion, the removal of 'gender equality' language from government websites, and reducing access to contraception."

Applewhite, a veteran, focused on the project's plan for veterans.

"Donald Trump called our fallen service members ‘losers.' Now, his project 2025 agenda is the latest affront to veterans and our service... (the) 2025 agenda cuts veteran benefits, including (those for) disabled veterans, and it threatens access to health care," she said.

The Associated Press reported July 6 that Trump has claimed to be unaware of the project .

Businessman Scott Peoples, who described himself as a former Republican and 82nd Airborne Division vet, said he now supports Biden.

"A second (Trump) term would be even worse ... Project 2025 (would) cut veteran benefits," Peoples said. "It’s one reason why I changed to Democrat. To quote former president Reagan, 'I didn’t leave the Republican Party, the Republican Party left me.'"

Former county commission chair wants party to unite behind Biden | 1:10 p.m.

As cheerleaders led the cheer, "When I say Biden, you say Harris!" Charles Evans, former chairman of the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners, said he was unhappy with the recent talk that Biden be replaced at the top of the ticket. The rumblings from Biden's own party came after his lackluster performance in a debate with Trump last month. The president, at times, fumbled his words or didn't complete sentences, prompting many to question the 81-year-old's mental acuity and ability to complete a second term.

“I think it’s ludicrous that they’re trying to force President Biden out. I think that we should stand firm behind him as a party to show that we possess unity," Evans said. "As far as Vice President Harris is concerned, if she has the opportunity to become the nominee for the person to run for president, we would have an excellent president, so we win on all accounts. But the first thing that we must do is show our support.”

Evans said he is not worried about Harris' performance in a debate with Trump's vice presidential pick, J.D. Vance, a Republican senator from Ohio.

“(She'll) blow him out the water," Evans said of the former prosecutor. "That’s another thing that Vice President Kamala Harris can do, she can debate and she doesn’t play."

But while Harris has accepted the invitation to a debate in August, the Trump campaign refused to commit until after the Democratic convention Aug. 19 when it will be certain that Biden is the nominee.

"We don’t know who the Democrat nominee for Vice President is going to be, so we can’t lock in a date before their convention. To do so would be unfair to Gavin Newsom, JB Pritzker, Gretchen Whitmer, or whoever Kamala Harris picks as her running mate,” NBC News reported Trump campaign senior advisor Brian Hughes saying in a statement.

As the crowd inside the high school gymnasium grew to more than 250 people by 12:30 it became clear that those in attendance came from various points in Eastern North Carolina.

Sonya Bennetone, an accountant from Willmington, said she hopes Biden stays the course.

"I think he's our only choice for America, and replacing him would be political suicide," she said.

Dr. John Purakal, who practices emergency medicine, attended the event from Durham. He said no matter what name is on the ballot for the Democrats, that will be his pick.

"I know what a Trump presidency looks like so I know I'm voting for whoever the Democratic party candidate is that shows up on the ticket," he said.

People line up to enter the Gene Arrington Gymnasium at Westover High School | 12:20 p.m.

About noon on Thursday, a queue of more than 100 people awaited entrance into the Gene Arrington Gymnasium at Westover High School where Vice President Harris is set to speak shortly before 2 p.m.

Harris is in Fayetteville fresh off a campaign event in Michigan on Wednesday for the reelection of President Joe Biden.

At the Michigan campaign stop, Harris called for unity in the wake of an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday. Harris called the shooting a "heinous, horrible, and cowardly act," and offered her and her husband's condolences to the family of a spectator who was killed and at least two others who were injured.

"There must be unity around the idea that while our nation's history has been scarred by political violence, violence is never acceptable.  There can be no equivocation about that," she said.

Harris is expected to be joined on stage by N.C. Gov. Roy Cooper. Fayetteville Councilman D.J. Haire and Charles Evans, former chairman of the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners, are also in attendance.

As those inside the auditorium — numbering about 120 by 12:15 p.m. — await Harris' arrival, Cyndi Lauper's song, "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," is being played on the loudspeaker.

The vice president's visit is expected to be brief. She is scheduled to leave for Washington, D.C. at 2:50 p.m., according to the itinerary released Wednesday evening by her White House office.

According to the campaign, the event will be livestreamed on social media accounts for the Biden-Harris campaign. The campaign's Facebook account can be found at https://www.facebook.com/bidenharrishq .

Harris to arrive at Pope Army Airfield shortly before 1 p.m.

Vice President Kamala Harris will be in Fayetteville on a campaign stop Thursday for the reelection of President Joe Biden. Harris is scheduled to arrive at Pope Army Airfield at 12:45 p.m., according to a release from the Office of the Vice President.

The campaign event is at 1:55 p.m. in the Gene Arrington Gymnasium of Westover High School. Harris will make remarks before credentialed media, the release said.

Gov. Roy Cooper announced Wednesday afternoon he’d be joining Harris at the event.

The vice president was last in Fayetteville on the eve of the 2020 presidential election when she made a campaign stop at Fayetteville State University on Nov. 1, 2020.

The Fayetteville Police Department, State Bureau of Investigation, and State Highway Patrol will be in the area to assist the Secret Service, according to officials with each of those agencies.

As Trump heads to GOP convention, two parties adjust to a changed campaign

The extent to which the tenor and tone of the program will change will be determined by the former president, who has been intensively involved in planning the event.

MILWAUKEE — The assassination attempt that injured former president Donald Trump reshaped the presidential race and injected uncertainty Sunday into plans for this week’s Republican National Convention in Wisconsin, as both parties recalibrated to address the concerns of a stunned and unsettled nation.

Vowing on social media that he would not allow “a ‘shooter,’ or potential assassin” to force scheduling changes or “anything else,” Trump flew to Milwaukee late Sunday afternoon, abandoning plans to delay his trip by two days. Expressing his eagerness to address supporters this week, he posted on Truth Social that he and his movement would “remain resilient in our Faith and Defiant in the face of Wickedness” and surprised his staff by instructing them to weave a “unity” message into the four-day convention.

The shooting adds a new layer of darkness and unpredictability to an already extraordinary contest between President Biden and his predecessor, who maintains that the 2020 election was stolen from him and has embraced the rioters who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 , 2021.

The shooting has thrust Biden, who is still trying to recover from a stumbling late-June debate performance, into a delicate dual role as a president who has long warned against political violence and a candidate running against a man who has been targeted by that violence. Law enforcement agencies pressed forward with their investigations, but revealed no major clues about the shooter’s motive.

Trump touched down in Milwaukee on Sunday evening. Minutes later, Biden spoke to the nation from the Oval Office, describing the attempted assassination of his rival as part of a chain of violent events that included the Jan. 6 attack, the plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D), the attack on former House speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul, and threats against election officials.

“Disagreement is inevitable in American democracy,” Biden said. “It’s part of human nature. But politics must never be a literal battlefield — God forbid a killing field. I believe politics ought to be an arena for peaceful debate.”

A person who spoke to Trump on Sunday said the former president was almost “spiritual” about his attempted assassination Saturday night. Trump said he was struck by a bullet in his right ear, and officials said one rally attendee was killed and two others were critically injured.

“He thinks he was handed a gift from God. He can’t believe it,” said the person, who like other people interviewed for this story spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss confidential conversations and planning. Though plans are still in flux and subject to change, the convention is expected to focus more on Trump’s “courage and his resilience,” a person close to him said. The convention’s planners “want speakers to dial it down, not dial it up,” the person said, referring to the rhetoric used in speeches.

Seeking to reassure aides in the early hours of Sunday, top Trump advisers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles sent an email to staff obtained by The Washington Post stating that the convention would “continue as planned” as party delegates prepare to “nominate our President to be the brave and fearless nominee of our party.”

Trump rally shooting

a trip event

LaCivita and Wiles said they had enhanced the security presence at Trump’s campaign offices in D.C. and West Palm Beach, Fla., and encouraged aides to stay away from the offices as they assessed the security risks. Several people with knowledge of convention planning said additional security measures were put in place to ensure that events, including those outside the hardened security perimeter, would be safe to attend.

On a call Sunday afternoon, Wiles told staffers the former president was upbeat and in good spirits. She encouraged them to carry on and be careful, but she described the last 24 hours as difficult, according to a person with knowledge of the call.

Trump’s plane had arrived at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey early Sunday after the shooting, according to flight records. In Bedminster, N.J., police guarded the entrance to his golf club and residence, prohibiting any vehicle from idling anywhere near the gate. The officers directed press to the parking lot of a library nearly four miles from the entrance of Trump National Golf Club Bedminster.

The FBI is investigating the Saturday evening shooting at Trump’s Butler, Pa., campaign rally as an assassination attempt and have identified the suspected gunman as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, Pa.

Aides to both Trump and President Biden are grappling with the anger and partisan vitriol that burst forth immediately after the shooting. Many supporters of Trump, both rank-and-file voters and elected officials, quickly took to social media to argue that the rhetoric of Biden and his supporters — casting Trump as a threat to democracy — led to Saturday’s events .

Trump struck a note of defiance in the immediate moments after the shooting, pumping his fist and mouthing the word “fight” several times as his Secret Service detail ushered him offstage. But LaCivita and Wiles sought to cool the temperature in their overnight memo, asking aides not to comment publicly on the shooting. “We condemn all forms of violence and will not tolerate dangerous rhetoric on social media.”

LaCivita initially posted a more pointed commentary on X on Saturday night — suggesting the attack was tied to decisions by Trump’s adversaries. “[W]ell of course they tried to keep him off the ballot, they tried to put him in jail and now you see this,” LaCivita wrote. He later deleted the post.

Many Trump allies, including Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), who is under consideration to be Trump’s running mate, cast blame for the shooting on Trump’s political opponents — with Vance arguing that it was not “just some isolated incident.”

Authorities said they cannot yet speak to the shooter’s motive. As they raced to learn more, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said that Congress would investigate any potential lapses in security that allowed the attack.

“In the meantime, we’ve got to turn the rhetoric down,” Johnson urged on NBC’s “Today” show on what he called a “surreal” morning. Like other Republicans, Johnson noted Biden’s recent call to put Trump in a “bull’s eye.” Johnson added that he knows that Biden “didn’t mean what is being implied there” but also believes “that kind of language on either side should be called out.”

“We’re done talking about the debate, it’s time to put Trump in a bull’s eye,” Biden had said on a Monday call with donors.

In one notable addition to this week’s program in Milwaukee, Nikki Haley — the former South Carolina governor who ran for the Republican nomination against Trump — will speak at the convention, according to several sources familiar with the planning, a nod to the GOP leaders’ interest in trying to bridge divisions within the party.

Biden’s allies have long condemned Trump’s more inflammatory statements, and Biden himself ran for president in 2020 promising to heal the country’s divisions. But in the hours following the shooting, the Biden campaign has largely avoided engaging in a debate over heated rhetoric.

In a televised statement Saturday, Biden called the violence “sick” and asked Americans to “unite as one nation to condemn it.” Democrats had planned a full week of counterprogramming with daily news conferences to push their message about Biden’s economic successes, the Republican Party’s direction on abortion and Trump’s statements about what he would do if he is elected again.

After the shooting, the Biden campaign paused all outbound communications and aides said they were working to pull their television ads down as quickly as possible — creating uncertainty about how the campaign will respond to convention speeches and activities this week. Biden cut short his weekend stay in Rehoboth Beach, Del., to return to the White House, and he has postponed a planned trip to Texas on Monday to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act. The Biden-Harris campaign also suspended a $50 million ad blitz.

But on the campaign trail, Biden’s team was seeking ways to continue criticizing Trump, whom they view as a threat to democracy, while also showing sensitivity and compassion.

The president is scheduled for an interview with NBC’s Lester Holt on Monday, and he could resume campaigning later in the week as Republicans gather for their nominating convention.

Elected officials from both parties tried to reassure Americans that they were taking precautions to ensure the convention would be safe for all attendees.

During a call with members of Congress, the House Sergeant-at-Arms said members should expect increased security at the Republican convention in Milwaukee and that lawmakers attending will have their movements monitored, according to a lawmaker on the call.

Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson noted that his city had joined a bipartisan coalition before the RNC that successfully lobbied Congress to increase the grant for RNC security from $60 million to $75 million.

“I’m a public safety mayor. We want to make sure we have not just a safe convention, but a safe city,” Johnson said. The mayor, a Democrat elected in 2022, said he understands that some convention attendees may be worried about security. “In light of what happened yesterday, that’s a question that would naturally come up in people’s minds,” he said in a telephone interview.

Milwaukee has more than 1,600 police officers and is receiving help from thousands more at outside agencies, Johnson said. A planned march by protesters, the Coalition to March on the RNC, will be permitted to go forward “to ensure they have the ability to express their First Amendment rights.”

“We want this to be a safe convention for all, whether you’re cheering for a candidate or detest them and don’t want to see them elected,” Johnson said.

Dawsey reported from Washington, and Jacobs reported from Bedminster, N.J. Danielle Paquette in Butler, Pa.; Marianna Sotomayor; Marianne Levine; Toluse Olorunnipa and Tyler Pager contributed to this report.

54+ best Target deals that compete with Prime Day 2024

Target Circle members and non-members can shop these sales right now.

Target 's competing Amazon Prime Day deals are still underway. Though Target Circle Week, one of the retailer’s biggest sales of the year, ended last week, the retailer is still offering discounts across categories like home, tech and beauty. Some of these are new deals, while others are carried over from Target Circle Week and remain at the same price. The deals are both in-store and online; some deals will be specific to Target Circle members , while others will be available to members and non-members.

As a writer for NBC Select, I frequently cover shopping events like Amazon Prime Day, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, so I know how to find deals that are actually worth buying. Below, I rounded up the best Target deals to shop now, all of which are highly rated and at least 20% off. Many deals are also at their lowest price in three months. I’ll continue updating this list over the next few days.

When data was available, I ran each deal through price trackers like Honey to ensure products are at their lowest price ever or their lowest price in three months.

Why trust NBC Select?

I’m an associate reporter for NBC Select who has covered deals and sales for over a year. To round up the best Target sales, I found highly rated products that are at least 20% off right now.
