In Maria Pohsarang cave, there is a small cave which features the first statue of Mary placed before the inauguration of the cave. 5. Hwie Tjoe Kiong Temple

6. Hill of Ongakan Turtle

About eight kilometers from the Kepung district, there is a new tourist destination ideal for those who love the natural landscape. Located on the slopes of Mount Kelud, Mount Ongakan is also known as the Turtle Hill because of its turtle-like shape.

Going to the hill, you'll walk down the pine forests by a motorcycle. Unfortunately, the road is narrow with heavy terrain, so it's quite an effort. Nonetheless, your struggle will be paid with a charming view presented from the hill.

On top of the hill, there is a wooden platform to take photographs. In addition to the beautiful scenery, there is a waterfall to visit. The entrance fee is only Rp4.000 per person, but it's not advisable to come after 5 p.m. due to the quite ambiance around.

7. Takwa Tofu Center

You’re not visiting Kediri without tasting its delicious tofu. There are several places to buy takwa tofu, such as Yos Sudarso and Pattimura streets. There, you can enjoy a variety of tofu dishes, such as fried yellow tofu, pong tofu, or tofu cracker.

The products are sold at affordable prices, ranging from Rp3.000 to Rp10.000 for a portion of four to ten fried yellow tofu. Additionally, you can also bring home the products as gifts for relatives and friends.

8. Tegowangi Temple

When visiting Kediri, try to take the time to visit the Tegowangi temple. It is the relics of the Majapahit kingdom and was built in 1400 AD. Although it is quite far from the city center, approximately about 24 kilometers from Kediri, Tegowangi temple is one of the attractions to be missed.

Its small size does not necessarily make this temple lost its beauty. There are reliefs in the main temple, depicting the sanctification of Dewi Durga to Dewi Uma. 9. Gumul Paradise Island

Want to play in the water during holiday in Kediri? Gumul Paradise Island can be the place to fill your needs. The place is located in Simpang Lima Gumul complex, not far from the famous monument of Simpang Lima.

In Gumul Paradise Island, you will be pampered with a variety of rides such as flying fox, speed slide, mushroom pool, fun boomerang, and others. The complex is also equipped with several facilities like toilets, buoy rental center, lockers and a prayer room.

The entry ticket price is quite affordable, which is Rp15.000 on weekdays and Rp30.000 on the weekend. Gumul Paradise Island opens every Tuesday to Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

10. Surawana Temple

Just as Tegowangi temple, Surawana is also an artifact of the kingdom of Majapahit. This temple complex is about 25 kilometers from Kediri and can be reached by car. Judging by its location, you can visit Surawana before or after visiting the temple Tegowangi.

The temple has a relatively small size, which is 8x8 square meters. Unfortunately, the body and the roof of the temple have been destroyed, leaving only part of its foundation. 12. Mount Kelud Mountain

Located 27 kilometers from the city center Kediri, Mount Kelud offers the charm of the forest that blanketed the mountain scenery. From the center of the city, a trip to this attraction can be reached in about one and a half hours by car.

Before reaching the parking area, you will pass through the "mysterious" road. That said, if you turn off the engine and move the gear into neutral, the car will keep climbing uphill. The same things you can prove is by putting a bottle of mineral water over the road and see the bottle rolls toward the road uphill.

Once you passed the road, you will move through the ancient tunnel to reach the mountain. The inside of the tunnel was equipped with lighting, so you do not need to worry. Once arrived, the main point of interest to see is a giant lava dome surrounded by green hills.

13. Kediri Soto Bok Ijo

Besides takwa tofu, soto Kediri is also a popular culinary dish you must taste. In the eastern of Tamanan bus terminal, you can find some soto Kediri stalls, also known as soto Bok Ijo. According to the story, the name Bok Ijo comes from the initial location of the stall, that is near the green bridge. This dish has already existed since 1969.

A plate of rice and a bowl of soup with shredded chicken meat, bean sprouts, lime juice, and chopped cabbage are ready to pamper you. If you do not have time to enjoy it during the day, the stall is open until midnight. The price is very affordable. With five thousand rupiahs, you can enjoy this appetizing soup dish.

14. Irenggolo Waterfall

Located in Mount Wilis, this waterfall is an interesting tourist destination in Kediri. The distance is about 28 kilometers from the city center and can be reached in about 30 minutes by car. With a height of about 80 meters, this waterfall has its own uniqueness that may not be found in other waterfalls.

Unlike the other waterfalls, its streams do not fall vertically, but passing a sort of "ladder" of rocks, falling into a shallow pond. You can play the water with the family in the pond. Along the way to the waterfall, you will be presented with a view of the slopes of Mount Wilis.

This attraction is also equipped with several facilities, such as children's playground, public bathrooms, and a pool. Entry ticket is sold for three thousand rupiahs per person.

15. Selomangleng Cave

Selomangleng cave is a tourist attraction located about 7 kilometers from the city center of Kediri. The cave, which is the site of royal heritage of Kediri kingdom can be reached using public transportation and is quite close to the Museum of the Airlangga and Penataran Agung Kilisuci.

When entering, you are greeted with the smell of incense that is enough to sting. The inside of the cave is decorated with reliefs. In the middle of the cave, there is a sculpture of meditating woman. That said, the female statue is a representation of Dewi Kilisuci. Meanwhile, on the right side of the cave, there is a special room to put offerings.

On the outside of the cave, there are some ruins of statues, and also boulders. Although the ambiance feels mystical, especially with a strong smell of the incense, the Selomangleng cave remains a viable tourist destination to visit, especially for those who are interested in the history of the kingdoms in Indonesia.

16. Kediri Syu Monument

In the city center of Kediri, there is a monument known as Kediri Syu. This monument is a statue of a man with typical Japanese army uniforms that represent PETA army. The giant golden statue will greet any visitor who passes through the small roundabout connecting Jaksa Agung Suprapto and KH Wakhid Hasyim roads.

Its location in the city center makes it easy to visit the monument. Not far from the area, there are several other places that can be visited, such as the Red Church and Sekartaji Park. After taking pictures in front of the monument, you can also enjoy snacks that are sold around the Jaksa Agung Soeprapto road.

17. Dolo Waterfall

Besides Irenggolo waterfall, Kediri also has Dolo waterfall. Its location is adjacent to Irenggolo and can be reached in about 45 minutes from Kediri by car. Unlike the Irenggolo waterfall, Dolo has three levels, with the top height of about 90 meters.

On the way to the waterfall, you will be spoiled with a beautiful view of the pine forest. The road to the waterfall is stone-shaped staircases that look fabulous with a length of about one kilometer. Located at an altitude of 1,800 meters above sea level, Dolo waterfall offers a serene atmosphere amidst the pine forest and the cool air of Mount Wilis.

18. Off-road in Mount Kelud

There is a selection of jeep ready to take you to explore the forest and the area around Mount Kelud. Be prepared because you will pass a very steep terrain. The main off-road package (one car with a capacity of 4 people+1 guides) is available at a price of Rp375.000 for a duration of 2.5 to 3-hour tour.

In addition to the main package, there are also some other package options to choose from. The additional package includes a trip to the Sepawon plantation with colonial ambiance or Orchid village on the slopes of Mount Kelud. With the additional package, you can enjoy a 3 to 5-hour tour.

19. Konto River Rafting

Want to experience the challenge? Kediri offers a more challenging attraction, namely Konto River Rafting also known as Kediri Rafting. This attraction is operated since 2011 and is in the watershed of Konto River. To get there, you can drive for about 45 minutes from the city center.

In this site, you can have rafting through the 12-kilometer stream and 11 rapids on a 2-hour journey. Once it's over, you'll have a buffet lunch and snack at the resting area.

Konto River Rafting Package is offered at around Rp150.000 per person. If rafting is still less challenging for you, there is also additional packages for those who want to do other outdoor activities, such as outbound, paintball, flying fox, and the airsoft gun.

20. Sentono Gedong Site

Sentono Gedong is a complex with an area of 3 hectares located in the Doho, Kediri. In this complex, you can find a large verandah, mosques, and the cemetery, mostly visited by pilgrims. Setono Gedong is a heritage site of Kediri kingdom from the 12th century.

The large pavilion in the complex has foundation structure of stone that was once a temple. It is also reinforced by a giant stone gate that is believed to be the gateway to the temple. Unfortunately, it has been a lot of changes in the structure so that the original form is not so apparent.

In addition to the hall and the mosque, there are lots of remains of the temple stones and reliefs scattered around the complex. Near the complex, there is an old well that supposedly used in ancient times by people who wanted to purify themselves before entering the temple.

21. Sumber Ubalan

Located approximately 15 kilometers from the Monument of Simpang Lima Gumul, Sumber Ubalan (also known as Ubalan Park) is a tourist attraction that is worth to visit. This attraction is actually a protected forest area and natural water springs housed in a gorgeous pool.

In the area of 12 hectares, you can enjoy a variety of relaxing activities in a beautiful garden, boating, biking, swimming, and camping. You can also try the freshness of the water from Sumber Ubalan which, supposedly, is efficacious. Entrance to the site is pretty affordable, which is Rp4.000 on weekdays and Rp10.000 on weekends. This attraction is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

22. The Pagora Park

Adjacent to Brawijaya Stadium, there is a Pagora Park to visit while you’re in Kediri. This tourist site has been established since 1963 and offers a swimming pool as its main attraction. Its location in the center of Kediri is easy to reach.

The Pagora Park has two swimming pools, an adult pool, and a kid's pool. The adult pool already has national standards. For those of you who don't want to play water, there are other rides such as carousels, rabbit train, mini zoo, duck boat and a fishing pond. In addition, there is also an outbound arena for those who want a more strenuous activity.

The swimming pool at the Park Pagora is filled by water from the pure springs that do not contain chlorine and, of course, refreshing. Its entrance fee ticket is ranging from Rp7.500 for adult and Rp5.000 for kid visitors.

23. Kediri Waterpark

When visiting with family, do not miss this particular tourist site in Kediri. The 5 hectares attraction was opened in 2014 and are the largest water attraction in East Java. Kediri Waterpark is located on the Pagung road, about 12 kilometers from the city center.

There are several types of pools that you can try, such as the adult pool, wave pool, and the trumpet pool. Pump up your adrenaline by climbing some slides like the racing slide, tsunami slide, and the slide tower. The slide tower has a length of about 206 meters and is the longest slide in Asia. For those of you who don't want to jump in the water, there are other rides like the mini coaster, carousels, extreme cinema 5D, and go-karts.

This place is open daily (except Mondays) and operates from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There are two types of tickets that can be purchased, a rail pass for Rp45.000 during the weekdays and Rp70.000 during the weekend, or normal ticket for Rp35.000 during the weekdays and Rp50.000 during the weekend.

24. Airlangga Museum

Airlangga Museum is located near Selomangleng Cave. The distance is not so far from the city center, which is about 7 kilometers. From Kediri terminal, you can ride public transportation with the route to Selomangleng. This museum was first opened in 1992 and is a house of a variety of relics from Hindu Mataram kingdom.

Although it has a simple design, the museum has a collection of approximately 118 artifacts from Hindu Mataram kingdom. The collection is dominated by statues and yoni. One of the "main stars" in this museum is a statue of Shiva in the main hall of the temple. The museum opens every day (except Friday), from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Entry ticket it sold at Rp1.000 for adult and Rp500 for child visitors.

25. Penataran Agung Kilisuci Temple

In Kediri, there is a magnificent temple named Penataran Agung Kilisuci. The location is adjacent to Airlangga Museum, so if you have the opportunity to visit the museum, you can easily visit this temple.

Upon arrival, you are greeted with the magnificent main gate. Behind the gate, there is the main yard (Madya Mandala), decorated by a huge banyan tree. Also in this yard, there is Kori Agung or the main gate that connects the courtyard with Mandala Utama, the main hall of worship for Hindus.

26. Museum of Photography Kediri

Located on Kapten Piere Tendean road, the museum displays about 300 photos depicting the history and development of Kediri in the past. In addition to photographs, this museum also has a collection of various types of cameras, ranging from ancient antique cameras to practical pocket camera. When visiting, you will not only take a peek at the old Kediri in the past, but also gain knowledge about photography.

27. Tirtoyoso Waterpark

Close to Brawijaya Stadium and Pagora Park, Tirtoyoso Waterpark can be an alternative to enjoy water recreation with family. Among the local citizens, this attraction was formerly known as the Kuwak Swimming Pool.

The attraction of this place is the swimming pool. There is an adult Olympic pool for those who want to exercise and refresh the body, and a kid's swimming pool with slides. Do you want to stay away from the water? Just enjoy some delicious snacks sold in the area.

Stand to face the Monuments Kediri Syu, GPIB Immanuel is one of the oldest churches in Kediri. Its original name is Kerkeraad der Protestanche Te Kediri, but also known as the Red Church because of the color of its exterior walls is so flashy.

The church of Dutch colonial heritage is still maintaining its authenticity since it was built in 1904. At first, the outer wall of the church is painted in ivory. However, in 1994 the outer wall is repainted in dark red color. A strong European architectural style is reflected in the form of towering buildings, large high windows, and the furniture inside the church, such as chairs, cabinets, and the pulpit.

Every corner of the outer wall of the complex is adorned with a statue of Brahma, Vishnu, Bayu, and Indra. Inside the complex, there is a field that is shaded by mature trees. 34. Bendung Gerak Waru Turi

Located about 15 kilometers from Kediri, Bendung Gerak Waru Turi is 20-minutes' drive away. It replaced the old Bendung Mrinca and used to control the water in the Brantas River that divides the city into two parts.

Bendung Gerak Turi Waru has a length of 150 meters and has nine gates, 4 sediment depletion doors, and 2 channels of irrigation. There is mail controlling floodgates lined up neatly at the top of the dam. When visiting, you could see some people coming and fishing around the dam. The complex is also equipped with a small park located on the left side of the dam.

This attraction also comes with some great supporting facilities, such as swimming pools, deer stables, fishing area, flying fox, outbound arena, motor boats, water bikes, campsite, entertainment stage, and a golf course. To fill the stomach, you can enjoy the grilled fish from stalls lined up neatly on the edge of the park.

35. Statue of Totok Kerot

About 4 kilometers from the Monument of Simpang Lima Gumul, there is a 3-meter height statue, known as Totok Kerot. It is the artifact of Kediri kingdom. This statue is said to be the incarnation of a beautiful princess who was cursed and turned into a giant (Dwarpala).

Previously, this statue is buried, and in 1981, the excavation removes the statue. Its location is surrounded by plantations and paddy fields so that it can be the main attraction for those who like a natural atmosphere of the countryside. You can access this site easily by a car because it's located on the side of the highway.

Regardless of the location that is quite easy to reach, not many people visit this site. In addition, the statue is not in its intact condition since it's missing the left hand. Nonetheless, you still can see the detail on the statue's body, such as detailed crowns, bracelets, and necklaces. The yard around the statue is decorated with plants.
