These rock songs are all pretty amazing. My husband is going to especially love these songs on our vacation playlist.

I know and love almost all of these songs from my youth, and I find it very interesting that they have common themes that reflect the times several decades ago. Compliance status

We firmly believe that the internet should be available and accessible to anyone, and are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of circumstance and ability.

To fulfill this, we aim to adhere as strictly as possible to the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1) at the AA level. These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with a wide array of disabilities. Complying with those guidelines helps us ensure that the website is accessible to all people: blind people, people with motor impairments, visual impairment, cognitive disabilities, and more.

This website utilizes various technologies that are meant to make it as accessible as possible at all times. We utilize an accessibility interface that allows persons with specific disabilities to adjust the website’s UI (user interface) and design it to their personal needs.

Additionally, the website utilizes an AI-based application that runs in the background and optimizes its accessibility level constantly. This application remediates the website’s HTML, adapts Its functionality and behavior for screen-readers used by the blind users, and for keyboard functions used by individuals with motor impairments.

If you’ve found a malfunction or have ideas for improvement, we’ll be happy to hear from you. You can reach out to the website’s operators by using the following email [email protected] .

Screen-reader and keyboard navigation

Our website implements the ARIA attributes (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) technique, alongside various different behavioral changes, to ensure blind users visiting with screen-readers are able to read, comprehend, and enjoy the website’s functions. As soon as a user with a screen-reader enters your site, they immediately receive a prompt to enter the Screen-Reader Profile so they can browse and operate your site effectively. Here’s how our website covers some of the most important screen-reader requirements, alongside console screenshots of code examples:

Screen-reader optimization: we run a background process that learns the website’s components from top to bottom, to ensure ongoing compliance even when updating the website. In this process, we provide screen-readers with meaningful data using the ARIA set of attributes. For example, we provide accurate form labels; descriptions for actionable icons (social media icons, search icons, cart icons, etc.); validation guidance for form inputs; element roles such as buttons, menus, modal dialogues (popups), and others. Additionally, the background process scans all of the website’s images and provides an accurate and meaningful image-object-recognition-based description as an ALT (alternate text) tag for images that are not described. It will also extract texts that are embedded within the image, using an OCR (optical character recognition) technology. To turn on screen-reader adjustments at any time, users need only to press the Alt+1 keyboard combination. Screen-reader users also get automatic announcements to turn the Screen-reader mode on as soon as they enter the website.

These adjustments are compatible with all popular screen readers, including JAWS and NVDA.

Keyboard navigation optimization: The background process also adjusts the website’s HTML, and adds various behaviors using JavaScript code to make the website operable by the keyboard. This includes the ability to navigate the website using the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, operate dropdowns with the arrow keys, close them with Esc, trigger buttons and links using the Enter key, navigate between radio and checkbox elements using the arrow keys, and fill them in with the Spacebar or Enter key.Additionally, keyboard users will find quick-navigation and content-skip menus, available at any time by clicking Alt+1, or as the first elements of the site while navigating with the keyboard. The background process also handles triggered popups by moving the keyboard focus towards them as soon as they appear, and not allow the focus drift outside of it.

Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.

Disability profiles supported in our website

  • Epilepsy Safe Mode: this profile enables people with epilepsy to use the website safely by eliminating the risk of seizures that result from flashing or blinking animations and risky color combinations.
  • Visually Impaired Mode: this mode adjusts the website for the convenience of users with visual impairments such as Degrading Eyesight, Tunnel Vision, Cataract, Glaucoma, and others.
  • Cognitive Disability Mode: this mode provides different assistive options to help users with cognitive impairments such as Dyslexia, Autism, CVA, and others, to focus on the essential elements of the website more easily.
  • ADHD Friendly Mode: this mode helps users with ADHD and Neurodevelopmental disorders to read, browse, and focus on the main website elements more easily while significantly reducing distractions.
  • Blindness Mode: this mode configures the website to be compatible with screen-readers such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack. A screen-reader is software for blind users that is installed on a computer and smartphone, and websites must be compatible with it.
  • Keyboard Navigation Profile (Motor-Impaired): this profile enables motor-impaired persons to operate the website using the keyboard Tab, Shift+Tab, and the Enter keys. Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.

Additional UI, design, and readability adjustments

  • Font adjustments – users, can increase and decrease its size, change its family (type), adjust the spacing, alignment, line height, and more.
  • Color adjustments – users can select various color contrast profiles such as light, dark, inverted, and monochrome. Additionally, users can swap color schemes of titles, texts, and backgrounds, with over 7 different coloring options.
  • Animations – epileptic users can stop all running animations with the click of a button. Animations controlled by the interface include videos, GIFs, and CSS flashing transitions.
  • Content highlighting – users can choose to emphasize important elements such as links and titles. They can also choose to highlight focused or hovered elements only.
  • Audio muting – users with hearing devices may experience headaches or other issues due to automatic audio playing. This option lets users mute the entire website instantly.
  • Cognitive disorders – we utilize a search engine that is linked to Wikipedia and Wiktionary, allowing people with cognitive disorders to decipher meanings of phrases, initials, slang, and others.
  • Additional functions – we provide users the option to change cursor color and size, use a printing mode, enable a virtual keyboard, and many other functions.

Go Viral With These 10 Trending Travel Songs For Instagram Reels in 2024

Whether travelling to an exotic location or taking a road trip, posting your adventures on platforms like Instagram Reels has become an effective means to document and highlight your experiences.

But just posting doesn’t guarantee engagement. One vital element that can boost your travel content is your choice of music. A well-chosen song can define the tone, elicit emotions, and increase the engagement of your videos.

To help you go viral with your travel content, we’ve prepared a list of 10 trending travel songs for Instagram Reels.

What Exactly Are Travel Reel Songs?

Travel reel songs are trending music used in Instagram Reels to create entertaining and engaging vacation content. Using popular songs that evoke a sense of excitement or wanderlust can help bring your adventure reels to life and make them more appealing to your audience.

However, if you want to get engaging travel songs for Instagram reels, there are three options. They are as follows.

  • Use music that complements the vibe of your brand.
  • Make use of viral music.
  • Make use of background music.

How to find the right music to match the vibe of your brand

Finding the right music to match the vibe of your brand is essential for creating reels that resonate with your followers. The songs you select should fit the overall tone and message you want to convey.

Furthermore, the following are methods that will help you find music that matches your brand:

  • Define the personality and values of your brand: Is your brand modern and edgy or traditional and classic? Do you want to exude vigour, sophistication, or relaxation? Finding music that matches your brand will be easier once you understand its personality and values.
  • Investigate your target audience: Select music from genres and eras your target audience enjoys. For example, classic rock songs may appeal to Baby Boomers, whereas recent pop hits are more likely to appeal to Millennials and Gen Z.
  • Seek inspiration: Look through music blogs and playlists to find new and emerging artists who fit the vibe of your brand.
  • Test and refine: Once you’ve chosen some potential tracks, run them by your target audience to see how they react.

How to use viral sounds to expand reach and engagement

Using popular sounds and music on Reels is a simple way to boost views and engagement. People enjoy discovering new songs and sounds, so highlighting what is currently popular or trending is an excellent strategy.

Furthermore, the following are methods for obtaining viral sounds for your Instagram reels:

  • A trending TikTok sound : Reusing popular TikTok sounds on Reels is a simple way to capitalise on their popularity.
  • A new song snippet: When a famous artist releases a new song, posting a short clip on Reels within a day or two of its release allows you to capitalise on the hype.
  • A sound from a recently released film or TV show: Profit from the popularity of movies, TV shows, characters, or quotes.
  • A sound of a viral meme: Meme sounds and catchphrases are notorious for spreading like wildfire across platforms. Including one in your Reel can increase its visibility and shares.
  • To get trending IG songs, follow @creators and @reelstips : On Fridays, they upload a lot of viral Instagram trends.

How to make Instagram reels with background music

Are you tired of using the same sound as everyone else? Do you want something unique for your brand? Here’s an idea: use background music for reels.

Here are some ideas to help you go viral:

  • Voiceovers: Your voice is a potent tool, and including a voiceover in your reel can help bring your travel experiences to life. Your voiceover should be exciting and informative while complementing the visuals in your reel.
  • Use soft and mellow instrumentals: Mellow, soft instrumentals are ideal for travel-themed reels. They create a soothing and relaxing environment that transports viewers to your location.
  • Make use of nature sounds: The sound of waves crashing against the shore, birds chirping in the morning, or rain falling on leaves can enhance the immersion of your footage.

Note: Keep your reel short and sweet – aim for 15-30 seconds – and always make sure the music and sounds you use are licensed for commercial use or fall under fair use guidelines.

75 Travel Songs to add to your Playlist in 2024 – Mixtape #2

Nour De Wilde Salhab - Hostel Expert on Hostelgeeks.com

We curated the second mixtape of the best travel songs.

This list features classic songs about traveling to brand new tracks.

You can find more travel songs here:

  • Summer Mixtape #1 for the perfect travelers playlist
  • 17 best Backpacker Songs you’ve to know
  • 10 songs for exploring the world

This list features a lot of cool songs you’ve to put on your phone. However, and always remember this, go out there and create your own travel songs.

What do we mean by that?

During your travels you will end up in a lot of fun situations.

You will collect memories, and a few songs will take part in it. Then, when you are back home or wherever, you will hear this special song in the radio – and it takes you right back to those fun situations you will cherish forever.

For us, this is for instance “We don’t talk anymore” – we traveled Vietnam for 3 months and some local in every single village, town and city played it at least once. We turned crazy, yet it’s today a part of the experience. Then in Labuan Bajo, while taking the boat cruise around the Komodo National Park, the boat crew only had only one song to play, HIOKO TOBELO 2 – Yopie Latul .

Okay, enough of the mambo jambo. Turn on your audio and hit the play button. This list of the best 75 travel songs is waiting for you.

I included my personal favorite travel song as #75.

Update : We had to break the songs in several pages, otherwise the page takes too long to load.

Please be patient and wait for the YouTube video to load.

1. Ricky Nelson – Travelin’ Man

I’m a travelin’ man I’ve made a lot of stops all over the world And in every part I own the heart Of at least one lovely girl

I’ve a pretty Señorita waiting for me Down in old Mexico If you’re ever in Alaska stop and see My cute little Eskimo

Oh, my sweet Fraulein down in Berlin town Makes my heart start to yearn And my China doll down in old Hong Kong Waits for my return

Pretty Polynesian baby over the sea I remember the night When we walked in the sands of the Waikiki And I held you, oh so tight

2. The Melodic – “On My Way”

I found an open door (I’m on my way) I think of love once more (I’m on my way)

Precious time on your own Seeing more than you care to say And the mist falls away (I’m on my way)

At times I’ve tried to feel (I’m on my way) With the thoughts I tried to steal (I’m on my way)

Left forgotten like young love All the choices I am made of When the push comes to shove

3. Passenger – Traveling Alone

Australian man, Scandinavian tan, Kicking stones round a square. Sat for a while and carved out a smile, As if someone would care.

Said I’m a long way from the Gold Coast. Furthest I’ve ever known, Oh and this just ain’t my home. It was my wife’s idea, but she’s no longer here. She left me travelling alone.

I never heard silence ring out like a bell. I never heard silence like last night in my expensive hotel. Well, I’m loving a shadow, I’m trying to catch the rain. But I never heard silence ’til I heard it today.

She walked out of the hotel, I could still smell the smoke of the burning heart left inside. She said men are all assholes And life’s a bad joke. She laughed and started to cry.

See, ten years with this man, And a life time of plans, Oh, and I loved him to his bones. Now I’ve lines on my skin And he’s traded me in. He left me travelling alone.

Well, I never felt silence hit me like a train. I never felt silence like blood coursed through my veins. Well, I’m loving a shadow, and I’m trying to catch the rain. I never heard silence ’til I heard it today. I never felt silence ’til I felt it today.

4. Band of Horses – The Funeral

I’m coming up only to hold you under I’m coming up only to show you wrong And to know you is hard, we wonder To know you, all wrong we were

Ooh-ooh Ooh-ooh

Really too late to call, so We wait for Morning to wake you, that’s all we got To know me as hardly golden Is to know me all wrong, they were

At every occasion, I’ll be ready for the funeral Every occasion, once more, it’s called the funeral Every occasion, know I’m ready for the funeral Every occasion, oh, one billion-day funeral

5. X Ambassadors – Renegades

Run away with me Lost souls and reverie Running wild and running free Two kids, you and me

6. Noah And The Whale – Blue Skies

This is a song for anyone with a broken heart This is a song for anyone who can’t get out of bed

I’ll do anything to be happy

Oh, ’cause blue skies are coming

But I know that it’s hard

This is the last song that I write while still in love with you This is the last song that I write while you’re even on my mind

’cause it’s time to leave those feelings behind Oh, ’cause blue skies are coming But I know that it’s hard

7. Coldplay – Adventure Of A Lifetime

Turn your magic on, to me she’d say Everything you want’s a dream away We are legends, every day That’s what she told him

I feel my heart beating I feel my heart beneath my skin I feel my heart beating Oh, you make me feel

Like I’m alive again Alive again Oh, you make me feel Like I’m alive again

8. Red Hot Chili Peppers – Californication

Psychic spies from China try to steal your mind’s elation And little girls from Sweden dream of silver screen quotation And if you want these kind of dreams it’s Californication It’s the edge of the world and all of western civilization

The sun may rise in the East at least it’s settled in a final location It’s understood that Hollywood sells Californication Pay your surgeon very well to break the spell of aging Celebrity skin is this your chin or is that war you’re waging?

9. Of Monsters and Men – Dirty Paws

Jumping up and down the floor My head is an animal And once there was an animal It had a son that mowed the lawn The son was an OK guy They had a pet dragonfly The dragonfly it ran away But it came back with a story to say

Her dirty paws and furry coat She ran down the forest slope The forest of talking trees They used to sing about the birds and the bees The bees had declared a war The sky wasn’t big enough for them all The birds, they got help from below From dirty paws and the creatures of snow

10. Foo Fighters – These Days

One of these days, the ground will drop out from beneath your feet One of these days, your heart will stop and play it’s final beat

One of these days, the clocks will stop and time won’t mean a thing One of these days, their bombs will drop and silence everything

But it’s alright, yeah it’s alright, said it’s alright Easy for you to say Your heart has never been broken Your pride has never been stolen Not yet, not yet, one of these days I bet your heart ‘ll be broken I bet your pride ‘ll be stolen I’ll bet, I’ll bet, I’ll bet, I’ll bet One of these days, one of these days

11. David Bowie – Heroes

I, I wish you could swim Like the dolphins Like dolphins can swim Though nothing, nothing will keep us together

We can beat them, forever and ever

Oh, we can be heroes just for one day

I, I will be King And you, you will be Queen Though nothing will drive them away We can be heroes just for one day We can be us just for one day

12. Ben Howard – Old Pine

Hot sand on toes, cold sand in sleeping bags I’ve come to know that memories Were the best things you ever had The summer shone beat down on bony backs

So far from home where the ocean stood Down dust and pine cone tracks We slept like dogs down by the fire side Awoke to the fog all around us

The boom of summer time We stood Steady as the stars in the woods So happy-hearted

And the warmth rang true inside these bones As the old pine fell we sang Just to bless the morning

13. The Byrds – I Wasn’t Born To Follow

Recommended by the Hostelgeeks community member Alexandra.

No I’d rather go and journey Where the diamond crescent’s glowing And run across the valley Beneath the sacred mountain And wander through the forest

Where the trees have leaves of prisms And break the light in colors That no one know the names of

And when it’s time I’ll go and lay Beside the legendary fountain ‘Till I see her form reflected

In its clear and jewelled waters And if you think I’m ready You may lead me to the chasm Where the rivers of our visions Flow into one another

14. Imagine Dragons – Not Today

There she goes in front of me Take my life and set me free again We’ll make a memory out of it Holy road is at my back Don’t look on, take me back again

We’ll make a memory out of it We finally fall apart and we break each other’s hearts

If we wanna live young, love, we better start today It’s gotta get easier, oh easier somehow

‘Cause I’m falling, I’m falling Oh easier and easier somehow

Oh I’m calling, I’m calling And it isn’t over, unless it is over I don’t wanna wait for that It’s gotta get easier and easier somehow But not today Not today

15. Mumford & Sons – Hopeless Wanderer

You heard my voice, I came out of the woods by choice Shelter also gave their shade But in the dark I have no name So leave that click in my head And I will remember the words that you said Left a clouded mind and a heavy heart But I am sure we could see a new start So when your hopes on fire But you know your desire Don’t hold a glass over the flame Don’t let your heart grow cold I will call you by name I will share your road

But hold me fast, hold me fast ‘Cause I’m a hopeless wanderer And hold me fast, hold me fast ‘Cause I’m a hopeless wanderer

16. Paper Lions – Travelling

Travelling the road, last known is where I want to be My compass directing, electing, an open road with golden trees But there’s an old man in need on the ground, I try not to make a sound He holds out his hand as I walk away, I hear him say

Please don’t be a stranger in my place Travelling come to a tavern for a momentary rest

I see the old man that I passed on the road in his distress As I turned to go I can hear him say, “Son, stay. Have a drink, I’ll pay.” Let bygones be gone, it’s all in the past, we raise a glass Please don’t be a stranger in my place

What if I could be what you wanted me to be What if I could see what you wanted me to see Come on and show me Please don’t be a stranger in my place

17. Ramon Mirabet – Home Is Where The Heart is

Shining sun means new start.

it’s time for me to face my fate

and follow my heart.

I’m coming home,

I’m coming home.

home is where the heart is.

it’s never late to find the answer up in the stars.

18. Dream Land (Road Trip)

19. Our adventure – The Long Valley

20. The Weeknd – Wanderlust

Is it so hard to say the same thing? And you’re so weak to say the same thing And burn a hole into your apprehensiveness And let the wildfire shine And repeat after me

Good girls go to heaven, And bad girls go everywhere And tonight I will love you And tomorrow you won’t care

You’re in love with something bigger than love You believe in something stronger than trust

Wanderlust Wanderlust

21. Creed – With Arms Wide Open

Well I just heard the news today It seems my life is going to change I close my eyes, begin to pray Then tears of joy stream down my face

With arms wide open Under the sunlight Welcome to this place I’ll show you everything With arms wide open With arms wide open

22. The Lumineers – Ho Hey

I been trying to do it right (Hey) I been living a lonely life (Ho) I been sleepin’ here instead (Hey) I been sleepin’ in my bed (Ho) I been sleepin’ in my bed (hey ho)

23. Bastille – Pompeii

I was left to my own devices Many days fell away with nothing to show

And the walls kept tumbling down In the city that we love Grey clouds roll over the hills Bringing darkness from above

But if you close your eyes Does it almost feel like Nothing changed at all? And if you close your eyes Does it almost feel like You’ve been here before?

24. Green day – Time of your life

Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road Time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go

So make the best of this test, and don’t ask why It’s not a question, but a lesson learned in time It’s something unpredictable, but in the end it’s right I hope you had the time of your life

So take the photographs, and still-frames in your mind Hang them on a shelf in good health and good time Tattoo’s of memories and dead skin on trial For what it’s worth, it was worth all the while

It’s something unpredictable, but in the end it’s right I hope you had the time of your life

25. The Script – Hall of Fame

Yeah, you could be the greatest You can be the best

You can be the King Kong banging on your chest You could beat the world You could beat the war

You could talk to God, go banging on his door You can throw your hands up You can beat the clock You can move a mountain You can break rocks You can be a master Don’t wait for luck Dedicate yourself and you can find yourself

26. Red Hot Chili Peppers – Road Trippin’

Road trippin’ with my two favorite allies Fully loaded we got snacks and supplies It’s time to leave this town it’s time to steal away Let’s go get lost anywhere in the U.S.A.

Let’s go get lost, let’s go get lost

Blue you sit so pretty West of the one Sparkles light with yellow icing, just a mirror for the sun Just a mirror for the sun Just a mirror for the sun

These smiling eyes are just a mirror for So much as come before those battles lost and won This life is shining more forever in the sun Now let us check our heads and let us check the surf Staying high and dry’s More trouble than it’s worth in the sun

27. Moby – Porcelain

28. Imagine Dragons – On Top of the World

If you love somebody Better tell them why they’re here ’cause They just may run away from you

You’ll never know what went well Then again it just depends on How long of time is left for you

I’ve had the highest mountains I’ve had the deepest rivers You can have it all but not til you move it

29. Part-Time Friends – Here We Are

Silence Ici nos âmes tutoient le ciel Et nos hymnes éternels

Here we are Something rise and fall We thought we never lost control

Here we are

30. Crystal Fighters – Love Natural

Everyone, anyone who want to hear Move in a little closer, let me tell you about A love natural, oh that love actual Love that you just can’t help feeling

When feelings with meanings keep on appearing And it’s almost midnight, the time is coming up The time is getting closer, the time is almost here Life is upon us and the time for love is here and now

When I look at you, oh I feel my heart Oh, I feel your love deep inside

32. U2 – Song For Someone

You got a face not spoiled by beauty I have some scars from where I’ve been You’ve got eyes that can see right through me You’re not afraid of anything they’ve seen I was told that I would feel nothing the first time I don’t know how these cuts heal But in you I found a rhyme

33. José González – Stay Alive

There’s a rhythm in rush these days Where the lights don’t move and the colors don’t fade Leaves you empty with nothing but dreams

In a world gone shallow In a world gone lean

Sometimes there’s things a man cannot know Gears won’t turn and the leaves won’t grow There’s no place to run and no gasoline

Engine won’t turn And the train won’t leave

Engines won’t turn and the train won’t leave I will stay with you tonight

Hold you close ‘til the morning light In the morning watch a new day rise We’ll do whatever just to stay alive We’ll do whatever just to stay alive

34. Don’t fight it, Feel it – AronChupa

Oh baby when the band is playing

And you begin to feel a funny little thrill

Moving up your spine

35. The Chainsmokers – Paris

We were staying in Paris To get away from your parents And I thought, “Wow If I could take this in a shot right now I don’t think that we could work this out” Out on the terrace I don’t know if it’s fair but I thought “How Could I let you fall by yourself While I’m wasted with someone else”

If we go down then we go down together They’ll say you could do anything They’ll say that I was clever If we go down then we go down together We’ll get away with everything Let’s show them we are better

I never let My guard go down But you messed me up When you came around When the high wore off

39. OK Go – Here It Goes Again

It could be ten, but then again I can’t remember half an hour since a quarter to four Throw on your clothes, the second side of Surfer Rosa And you leave me with my jaw on the floor

Just when you think (think) you’re in control Just when you think (think) you’ve got a hold Just when you get on a roll Here it goes, here it goes, here it goes again Oh, here it goes again I should have known, should have known, should have known again But here it goes again Oh, here it goes again

40. Traveling Wilburys – End Of The Line

Well it’s all right, riding around in the breeze Well it’s all right, if you live the life you please Well it’s all right, doing the best you can Well it’s all right, as long as you lend a hand

You can sit around and wait for the phone to ring (end of the line) Waiting for someone to tell you everything (end of the line) Sit around and wonder what tomorrow will bring (end of the line) Maybe a diamond ring

Well it’s all right, even if they say you’re wrong Well it’s all right, sometimes you gotta be strong Well it’s all right, as long as you got somewhere to lay Well it’s all right, everyday is judgment day

41. Bright Eyes – “First Day Of My Life”

This is the first day of my life Swear I was born right in the doorway I went out in the rain, suddenly everything changed They’re spreading blankets on the beach

Yours was the first face that I saw I think I was blind before I met you I don’t know where I am, I don’t know where I’ve been But I know where I want to go

And so I’d thought I’d let you know That these things take forever, I especially am slow But I realized that need you And I wondered if I could come home

I remember the time you drove all night Just to meet me in the morning And I thought it was strange, you said everything changed You felt as if you just woke up

She wants to know his name Wants his wealth, but not his fame Watch your pride

43. Depeche Mode – Enjoy the Silence

Words like violence Break the silence Come crashing in Into my little world

Painful to me Pierce right through me Can’t you understand? Oh my little girl

All I ever wanted All I ever needed

Is here in my arms Words are very unnecessary They can only do harm Vows are spoken

To be broken Feelings are intense Words are trivial Pleasures remain

Is here in my arms Words are very unnecessary They can only do harm

He’s leavin’ (leavin’) On that midnight train to Georgia (Leavin’ on the midnight train) Yeah, said he’s goin’ back (Goin’ back to find) To a simpler place in time (Whenever he takes that ride) oh yes he is (Guess who’s gonna be right by his side)

45. The Sounds – Painted By Numbers

Could I act like you, and put a smile on face? Not even for a second would I lie to myself.. Too many things are missing And there’s a tear in my eye It’s not a question or an answer

46. Kings Of Convenience – I’d Rather Dance With You

I’d rather dance with you than talk with you So why don’t we just move into the other room There’s space for us to shake and hey, I like this tune

Even if I could hear what you said I doubt my reply would be interesting for you to hear Because I haven’t read a single book all year And the only film I saw, I didn’t like it at all

And we’ll all float on okay And we’ll all float on okay And we’ll all float on okay And we’ll all float on anyway, well

A fake Jamaican took every last dime with that scam It was worth it just to learn some sleight of hand Bad news comes, don’t you worry even when it lands Good news will work it way to all them plans We both got fired on, exactly, the same day Well, we’ll float on, good news is on the way

61. MGMT- Kids

You were a child Crawling on your knees toward him Making momma so proud But your voice is too loud

We like to watch you laughing Picking insects off of plants No time to think of consequences Control yourself Take only what you need from it A family of trees wanting to be haunted

62. Franz Ferdinand – Take Me Out

So if you’re lonely You know I’m here waiting for you I’m just a cross hair I’m just a shot away from you And if you leave here You leave me broken, shattered, I lie I’m just a cross hair I’m just a shot, then we can die

63. Black – Wonderful Life

Here I go out to sea again The sunshine fills my hair And dreams hang in the air

Gulls in the sky and in my blue eyes You know it feels unfair There’s magic everywhere

Look at me standing Here on my own again Up straight in the sunshine

64. Beirut – Elephant Gun

If I was young, I’d flee this town I’d bury my dreams underground As did I, we drink to die, we drink tonight

Far from home, elephant guns Let’s take them down one by one We’ll lay it down, it’s not been found, it’s not around

Let the seasons begin – it rolls right on Let the seasons begin – take the big king down

65. Eagles – Hotel California

On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim I had to stop for the night.

There she stood in the doorway; I heard the mission bell And I was thinking to myself ‘This could be heaven or this could be Hell’ Then she lit up a candle and she showed me the way There were voices down the corridor, I thought I heard them say

66. The Cranberries – Zombie

Another head hangs lowly Child is slowly taken And the violence, caused such silence Who are we mistaken?

But you see, it’s not me It’s not my family In your head, in your head, they are fighting With their tanks, and their bombs And their bombs, and their guns In your head, in your head they are crying

67. The Strokes – You Only Live Once

Some people think they’re always right Others are quiet and uptight Others they seem so very nice nice nice nice (oh-ho) Inside they might feel sad and wrong (oh no)

Twenty-nine different attributes Only seven that you like Twenty ways to see the world (oh-ho) Twenty ways to start a fight (oh-ho)

68. The Black Keys – Lonely Boy

Well I’m so above you And it’s plain to see But I came to love you anyway So you pulled my heart out And I don’t mind bleeding Any old time you keep me waiting Waiting, waiting

Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting I’m a lonely boy I’m a lonely boy Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting

69. Come With Me Now – Kongos

Come with me now Come with me now

Woah come with me now I’m gonna take you down

Woah come with me now I’m gonna show you how Woah come with me now I’m gonna take you down

Woah come with me now I’m gonna show you how

Afraid to lose control And caught up in this world I’ve wasted time, I’ve wasted breath I think I’ve thought myself to death

70. Passenger | The Wrong Direction

When I was a kid the things I did were hidden under the grid Young and naive I never believed that love could be so well hid With regret I’m willing to bet and say the older you get It gets harder to forgive and harder to forget It gets under your shirt like a dagger at work The first cut is the deepest but the rest still flipping hurt You build your heart of plastic Get cynical and sarcastic And end up in the corner on your own

‘Cause I’d love to feel love but I can’t stand the rejection I hide behind my jokes as a form of protection I thought I was close but under further inspection It seems I’ve been running in the wrong direction oh no

71. Billy Joel – Travelin’ Prayer

Hey Lord, take a look all around And I’d a find where my baby’s gonna be Hey Lord, would ya look out for her tonight ‘Cause she is far across the sea Hey Lord, would ya look out for her tonight And make sure that she’s gonna be alright And things are gonna be alright with me

Hey Lord, would ya look out for her tonight And make sure that all her dreams are sweet Said now, would ya guide her on the roads And make them softer for her feet Hey Lord, would ya look out for her tonight And make sure that she’s gonna be alright Until she’s home and here with me

72. Creedence Clearwater Revival – Travellin’ Band

Seven thirty seven comin’ out of the sky Won’t you take me down to Memphis on a midnight ride I want to move Playin’ in a travelin’ band Yeah Well I’m flyin’ ‘cross the land tryin’ to get a hand Playin’ in a travelin’ band

Take me to the hotel baggage gone, oh well Come on, come on won’t you get me to my room I want to move Playin’ in a travelin’ band Yeah Well I’m flyin’ ‘cross the land, tryin’ to get a hand Playin’ in a travelin’ band

73. Have Love, Will Travel – The Sonics

Wow,Have love Whoa baby will travel Uh huh, uh huh, have love Woah baby will travel I said if you need loving then Mm,hmm,I’ll travel

Yeah,I’ll travel from Main to Mexico Just to find a little girl that loves me so No matter when, no matter where I’ll be I’m looking for a woman that’ll satisfy me

74. Queens Of The Stone Age – Go With The Flow

She said “I’ll throw myself away, They’re just photos after all” I can’t make you hang around. I can’t wash you off my skin. Outside the frame, is what we’re leaving out You won’t remember anyway I can go with the flow But don’t say it doesn’t matter anymore I can go with the flow Do you believe it in your head? It’s so safe to play along Little soldiers in a row Falling in and out of love With something sweet to throw away. But I want something good to die for To make it beautiful to live. I want a new mistake, lose is more than hesitate. Do you believe it in your head? I can go with the flow But don’t say it doesn’t matter anymore I can go with the flow Do you believe it in your head?

75. Maïa Vidal – Our Place

Last but not least, the ultimate travel song to wanderlust. I’d like to stay here For a while And go wild You’ll call me crazy But I don’t care ‘Cause I know where

Where I go where I go, you’re gonna take me Where I go where I go, you’re gonna take me Take me for a ride, And I’ll be by your side

Just let me stay here A little while We’ll go wild They’ll call us crazy But I don’t care ‘Cause I’ll be where you are

This all happened fast But I know how I feel Like you were the sand And I was the se

Extra 76. Sky on the Loose – Inkfield

Do you want an insider tip for cool travel songs? Then listen into Inkfield’s Sky on the Loose. Inkfield is a solo solo indie rock act from Edinburgh, UK.

Here are the lyrics.

Messaging like nights before, crashing through the wall I’m using all my strength and breath, I’m gonna show them all

You talk of my impending doom, no promise nor a myth You justify avoiding me to sell out on a whiff

Oh if I, I want to be the lonely one, I want to be the only one And if I, lord I And if I, I want to be the chosen one, I want to be the chosen one And if I, lord I

Don’t you tire of telling me? ‘The world ends at the sky, You’re just a little fish another simple passer by, All your songs and poetry are droplets in the sea’ I said ‘That is ok for you, your words won’t follow me!’

PS: Looking for more Instagram tips? You might also like our guide to increasing traffic on Instagram.

NOTE: What’s trending on Instagram Reels can depend based on what the algorithm has determined you like. The following trending songs and audios for Reels come from our own research/feeds, as well as the official Trend reports released by the Instagram @creators account.

General Tips on How to Find Trending Songs and Audios for Instagram Reels

Finding Trending Songs and Audios to use on Instagram Reels is a challenge for multiple reasons, including:

  • Many viral Reels songs/audios come from TikTok, and are re-uploaded into Reels so they aren’t easily searchable due to a lack of name/proper credit to the original artist
  • Instagram doesn’t provide an easy chart or way to see what songs/audios are trending on Reels
  • Trends on Instagram Reels come and go very quickly, much like TikTok trends, so articles on supposed trending songs/audios for Reels become outdated really quickly

But while finding these trending songs is difficult, it’s not impossible.

The best way to get a feel for what’s trending is by scrolling through your Reels tab on Instagram to identify patterns and songs that frequently repeat.

We’ve found that the Instagram Reels algorithm loves repetition, so it’ll often serve you the same audio multiple times in a row, or within a short time frame.

Once you’ve identified the most frequently heard audios, tap on the audio icon in the bottom right hand corner.

This will take you to that specific audio’s page. If you see an upwards arrow on the number of Reels that have used the audio, then that is a good sign that the audio may be trending, or at the very least, growing in popularity.

This is the basis for how we’ve found the trending songs and audios for IG Reels below, along with official picks from the Instagram @creators account. For audios which are “original audios”, we have included links so they are easy to find.

We’ll aim to update the list at least once a week so you can stay on top of trends!

30 Road Trip Hindi Songs to Ad in Your Travel Playlist

We went ahead and made the complete list on Spotify for you here - Holidify's Road Trip Playlist .

1. Yunhi Chala Chal (Swades)

If you're treading along the lesser travelled roads of India, make sure you have this song on your playlist to keep your spirits up when you are squashed in a bus full of locals. Bonus fun if you can find a 'baba' to sing along on the trip.

2. Dil Chahta Hai (Title Track)

It's hard to leave this one of the list. Farhan Akhtar's 2001 debut film is when travel took a front seat in a Bollywood film than just as a backdrop to a scene. Dil Chahta Hai in our opinion will always remain the  ultimate hindi travel song for road trips, especially if during from Mumbai to Goa through the Konkan coast, where this song was shot.

3. Khwabon Ke Parindey (ZNMD)

Exactly ten years later, Farhan Akhtar's sister Zoya comes out with an extension of the road trip  vibe movie, only this time on a much larger scale. As a result, we have a film that not only has travel as the central theme but inspires you to travel . Haven't you all tried waving your hand against the wind, as Hrithik did?

4. Tanha Dil (Shaan)

5. Suhana Safar Aur Ye (Madhumati)

There is a reason why 'old is gold', it's because of classics like this song. From the 1958 movie Madhumati, picturized on Dilip Kumar and Vyjantimala, the tune is so melodious you can't help but hum along with it - A must add on your list of road trip songs.

6. Hum Jo Chalne Lage (Jab We Met)

7. Zindagi Ek Safar Hai Suhana (Andaaz)

8. Yeh Dil Na Hota Bechara (Jewel Thief)

Another of Kishore Kumar's best songs, add to that the evergreen Dev Anand's classic strut and you can't help but tap your feet to tunes of S.D. Burman's music while taking in the scenic beauty of the trip. We wholeheartedly approve that this song be added to the greatest list of best hindi travel songs ever.

9. Aaj Kal Zindagi (Wake up Sid)

Whether you're trying to scale the Mt. Everest or take a plunge in the Arabian Sea, this feel-good song is all the pep talk you need. From the movie Wake up Sid, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy's beautiful composition!

10. Ilahi (YJHD)

Admit it, you wished for Bunny aka Kabir aka Ranbir's life in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. You repeated this dialogue, " Main udna chahta hoon, daudna chahta hoon, girna bhi chahta hoon bus rukhna nahi chahta" , to anyone who asked you why you want to travel !

11. Patakha Guddi (Highway)

This song from Highway won everyone's heart with its catchy lyrics and music and awesome video showing an actual road-trip ! Put on your headphones, turn up the volume and take a lift on the back of a truck for the best experience.

13. Musafir Hoon Yaaron

14.    Hai Apna Dil Toh Awara - Solva Saal

One of the best songs to bounce to, this number so aptly reverberates with the ethos of our generation, that it is impossible to not be in love with. All the more so when we have our travelling boots on! It is surely one of the best Hindi travel songs from the bygone era.

15. Kabira (Ye Jawani Hai Deewani)

Bunny was pretty nomadic, and boy wasn't his life awesome! Kabira is perfect for when you're leaving a tiny part of your heart in a new place and are dealing with all the blues of separation.

Noah Kahan's 'You’re Gonna Go Far' is the new graduation anthem making people ugly cry

When I first heard the song, my youngest daughter had warned me as we were driving to school that it made her friend’s mom cry.

After hearing just a few bars, my throat clenched to a point where words weren’t possible without the threat of a deluge of tears. Noah Kahan's “You’re Gonna Go Far” did that to me, on a weekday morning, in my pajama pants, while running carpool for my eighth grader.

Tucked inside the song’s lyrics is a vivid reflection of my oldest daughter, a senior in high school, preparing not only for graduation but for a new chapter that will take her away from home. Away from me. And through my speakers, one of the most popular indie-folk singer-songwriters was singing about this transition and the complicated emotions that come with it, to me.

Or, so it felt.

How a song becomes your anthem or soundtrack

“I had no idea. I didn't even think about it that way. That’s so exciting,” Gabe Simon, who wrote and produced the Stick Season album with Kahan, says from his backyard in Nashville, Tennessee. “It’s so powerful that a song can do that. That you have a visceral experience in your body with your child heading off.”

Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.

Simon and Kahan were thinking about their own moments of leaving as they wrote the song, which was rereleased this year with a Brandi Carlile feature that injects even more emotion. Both men are from small towns where people didn’t leave. Both understood the difference between simply surviving and truly living. And both wanted to feel like it was not only OK to leave, but that sometimes it’s necessary. And when it is, that people will understand.

“I think what’s great about songwriting is you can take a simple concept and make it an anthem,” he says. “I think a lot of people want to leave and have a hard time accepting they want to leave … but some people got to go.”

I had to. And when I did in 1999, “Wide Open Spaces” by The Chicks was the soundtrack for a pilgrimage that took me away from everything and everyone I knew. It seemed fitting for a girl moving from the Midwest to the West. Other strike-out-on-your-own anthems from the past include “Good Riddance” by Green Day and, more recently, “We Are Young” by fun.

Kahan tells USA TODAY the Green Day song was "the quintessential graduation song" when he was in middle school, and he performed The Head And The Heart's “Rivers and Roads” when he graduated high school.

"To think that there might be a generation of kids playing “You’re Gonna Go Far” at their graduation is an honor," said Kahan. "I hope the song brings the same optimism for the future to the families and friends and students themselves that those aforementioned songs brought to me.“

TikTok and Reels give new life to songs

Even in an unofficial anthem capacity, “You’re Gonna Go Far” is different from its predecessors. It’s alive in an era of TikTok, Instagram and Reddit. It’s being used to give rhythm and context to photos and milestones across social media. It’s giving people a collective space to lament the bittersweet feeling of leaving – confessing that they’re “ugly crying on the couch” and admitting that the song hits them “like a train” even years after moving away.

It shares both sides of emotions that come with leaving and letting go, the crux of emotions during graduation season. And, thanks to our ability to stream whatever we want whenever we want, it’s part of a musical thread that this generation of teens and young adults is able to share with this generation of parents.

It wasn’t always like that, Jonathan Perkins , the assistant chair of the songwriting department at Berklee College of Music, tells me. Parents didn’t always listen to or connect with the music their kids were listening to. My parents, for example, did not get down with Nirvana and Dr. Dre. The democratization of music, through streaming capabilities, has allowed kids to introduce parents to what moves them.

And sometimes, like with Noah Kahan, and even Taylor Swift and Harry Styles, parents get on board.

“We had much more dictated mediums of how we heard things. Radio had a strong influence,” Perkins says of Gen Xers who are now parents. “Now all the kids are sharing all kinds of stuff and I also think at the same time you’ve had a proliferation in a change of family psychology in the way parents get along with their kids. I think it only helps them connect with their kids.”

Parents and kids bonding over 'You're Gonna Go Far'

Many are connecting over this one song, in part because it somehow suggests empathy for both sides of the “leaving” coin.

For parents and for kids, the distinct imagery used in the song – “pack up your car, put a hand to your heart” and “we ain’t angry at you love, you’re the greatest thing we’ve lost” – gives pause to a season of life that has so much momentum, each milestone can feel like another rotation on an Indiana Jones-style boulder gaining speed as it rolls downhill.

Michelle Cox hasn’t yet allowed herself to imagine the moment she drives away from Addy, her oldest, headed to college about four hours from home. But when she hears the song, introduced to her by her daughters, she needs a minute. It reminds her of her own desire to leave when she was a high school senior, graduating from the same high school her daughter is.

“There are moments where songs get you and this is definitely one of them,” Cox says. “I see a lot of similarities in my own feeling of needing to leave.”

The beauty of the song, as is the case with life and these complex moments of necessary growth, is that it moves the listener through a series of emotions. Its anticipatory tempo at the outset gives way to a more comforting pace as the lyrics propose pride and protection in the place of loss or anger.

And isn’t that what we’re feeling as parents? Bittersweet pride?

Parents share in kids' success

Ritta Fagain does. Her oldest graduated high school in 2020, when the COVID-era ceremony was set up as a drive-thru. Her youngest son will graduate this spring and attend school about two hours away, which means she’ll be an official empty nester.

Milestones this school year have stirred emotions. And she has had to explain to him that the day he leaves it may seem like she is crying and hoping he will stay, but she is actually crying and pushing him on his way.

“We’ve not only earned these emotions, but we’re mourning the end of an era. It was a time in life that was fast and it was slow. It’s every cliche in the book coming true,” she says. “What we’re mourning is this time being over, not just that we miss our kids. And the sadness of it is wonderful because it means it was wonderful.”

Amy Wolff can relate. As she’s preparing for her youngest to graduate and attend college, and as an admittedly obsessed Noah Kahan fan, this song gains more meaning with each passing day.

“Music in general allows you to release some of that energy and emotion that you stifle,” she says. “I don’t want her to feel bad that she is causing this emotion. She’s exactly where she should be and she is going to set the world on fire and I can’t wait to be a witness to that. I’m so proud of her.”

Pride isn’t reserved exclusively for the graduate. Michael Klinkner, a Phoenix-based licensed clinical social worker, said many times the emotions that come with graduation and an impending empty-nest period are associated with joint achievement.

Parents and kids have reached this milestone together, he says. When I think back to what my daughter and I have navigated together, how we’ve had to grow alongside each other through some pretty gnarly challenges, graduation very much ties a beautiful bow around the emotional muscles we’ve sprouted and the bond we’ve formed.

I feel comfortable saying we’ve hit our stride. And we got there by wading through and holding each other up through some incredibly sticky family court quicksand that could have swallowed us. For others, the pandemic tripped them or teenage years created a divide.

“All of the things that were a struggle are now part of this achievement,” Klinkner says. “We pulled this off together. I’ve earned (the right) to get to be sad about this. I’ve been on this road. You’ve done it, but I’ve been pushing and pulling and sometimes holding your hand and using a cattle prod, but I get to have all these emotions.”

Couple that sense of achievement with the loss of routine, the turning of a page and the realization – for those who are sending their youngest off to school – that life with a spouse or alone returns to what it was before children existed, and it’s natural to feel uneasy, if nostalgic, for what we’ve known for nearly two decades.

“It’s the same exact feeling now as when you had a newborn,” Klinkner says, harkening to that terrifying unfamiliarity. “Someone will probably poop their pants, but it’s OK. You’ll figure it out. You get to be sad. You get to be nervous. You don’t get to freak out and show them you think they’re ill-equipped. They don’t get to know you’re afraid of that.”

Noah Kahan's song as a journey

So that’s the official line. And, according to Simon, that was the vibe for the song. It needed to somehow weave together the anxieties of someone leaving with the assurance that person needs from the people sending them off. It needed to hold promise. It needed to be comforting.

Simon said “You’re Gonna Go Far” was the most challenging one on the album, so challenging it had to be rerecorded four times. The energy had to be just right. Because in the end, they were singing it to themselves, in the way some people give advice that they themselves are meant to take.

To me, it is apropos that a song about a milestone in life that comes with a complex, mixed-bag of difficult-to-describe emotions was itself challenging to master. The song itself was a journey.

“That song in particular, we never knew why it resonated with so many people on so many levels. It just kept doing so well. It’s got to be this thing about wishing you well. I think this whole time we’ve been wishing ourselves well,” Simon said. “I love that song because it starts melancholy and ends joyful. We’re watching a butterfly. It should be full of hope and love and joy. You’re getting your sea legs and then you’re riding off into the sunset.”

As a parent, that hits, doesn’t it? Wishing someone well is the only way to wish them. Especially when they’re your kid, starting their life. They are butterflies. You just hope they’re ready to navigate the inevitable headwinds.

And if mine ever needs a breather, to rest her wings, I’ll “be here forever.”

Pasadena reels from Tesla crash that left 3 dead, 3 injured

P asadena is reeling from a violent car crash over the weekend that left three young adults dead and three other young people badly injured.

The victims, whose ages range from 17 to 22, all had roots in the City of Roses.

A memorial of flowers and candles assembled near a ruined building in east Pasadena marked the spot where the car's driver crashed his Tesla after hitting a nearby curb at more than 100 mph just before 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

The driver and two passengers died in the crash, and three more passengers were hospitalized with serious injuries, according to authorities.

By Monday morning, the memorial outside the unoccupied building on East Foothill Boulevard was replete with votive candles, a soccer ball and shoe, flowers and a pair of leather notebooks in which friends and family members could leave messages.

It's where 20-year-old Sergio Nava laid a bouquet of flowers for his friend Stephan Michael "Mike" Pfeiffer, whom he met in middle school at Marshall Fundamental Secondary School in Pasadena. They talked almost every day, and Nava thinks that if the circumstances were different — if maybe Nava hadn't been scheduled to work Saturday at a local Ralphs supermarket — he could have been in the car with his friend.

"I know he's in a better place now and he's looking down on us," Nava said, placing the flowers.

Pfeiffer, 20, was from Pasadena, according to the Los Angeles County medical examiner's office. The two other people killed were a man in his 20s whom KABC7 identified as Esrom Fessemaye and Moheb Reda Samuel, 22, of Pasadena. The medical examiner's office previously provided an incorrect spelling for Samuel's first name.

Samuel was the driver of the white, five-seat Tesla Model 3 that was heading west on Foothill Boulevard when it appeared to have lost control navigating a bend in the road. It hit a curb and launched into the air, according to Lt. Anthony Russo with the Pasadena Police Department.

The car probably soared more than 130 feet before it struck a utility pole and the building, Russo said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but based on preliminary information, it does not appear that the vehicle malfunctioned, according to Russo. The county medical examiner's office will perform a toxicology test to determine if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

Samuel and the passenger in the front seat, who police believe was Fessemaye, died at the scene, while three of the four rear passengers were thrown from the vehicle during the crash, Russo said. The fourth passenger remained in the vehicle because they were wearing their seat belt.

One of the passengers thrown from the vehicle, who police believe was Pfeiffer, died, and two others were transported to a hospital along with the survivor who remained in the vehicle's back seat, Russo said. All three passengers — identified by police as Emerson Newquist, 20, of Pasadena and Bella Ramirez, 18, of Monrovia, and by KTLA as Samuel's 17-year-old sister, Emily — are expected to survive, according to authorities.

Samuel was charged in September with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level above the legal limit, according to court records. He appeared in a Pasadena courtroom in March for his arraignment and a plea hearing.

Maranatha High School in Pasadena released a statement about the crash because some of the victims involved were or had been students at the private Christian school. It did not offer any names, but a school athletics website shows that Samuel was a varsity soccer player who graduated from Maranatha in 2020. Grief counselors were being made available to the school and community, according to the statement posted to Facebook on Sunday .

The school asked the public to respect the privacy of the families whose loved ones were involved in the crash.

"We are deeply saddened by this weekend's tragic car accident that claimed precious young lives. We mourn this immense loss and extend our heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of all those affected," the statement said. "During this difficult time, we turn to our faith in Christ Jesus for comfort and strength and ask others to join us in praying for all who are suffering due to this tragedy."

On Monday morning, a student wearing a Maranatha sweater approached the memorial and left flowers. Pieces of the Tesla remained strewn about the street and sidewalk.

A large gash in the sidewalk spoke of where the vehicle went airborne, and another large scratch on the ground at a nearby corner showed where the Tesla eventually came to rest.

Among the items at the memorial was a skateboard propped on the handles of the ruined building's door with the name "Mike" scratched onto the board's deck.

"He was a humble guy and he didn't like to show off. He was just very sweet to his grandfather and grandmother," Nava said. Pfeiffer had taken care of his grandfather until his grandfather's death, and was living with his grandmother at the time of the accident, according to Nava.

Nava said his friend was a skateboarder who studied kinesiology at Pasadena City College. Pfeiffer had planned to change his major, but remained undecided about what to study next.

"I guess we'll never know," Nava said as he picked up one of the notebooks to write a message for his friend. Pfeiffer would have been 21 this July, according to Nava.

A GoFundMe campaign has been started to help pay for Pfeiffer's funeral services.

How to Fast Travel in Animal Well

Don’t ignore the fish that teaches you the fast travel song.

A screenshot of Animal Well showing the egg room.

Animal Well is a game that communicates almost exclusively in riddles, even when it comes to its core gameplay mechanics. Take fast travel, for example. At the start of your journey, you might wonder if fast travel is even possible. You don’t even get a map until you’ve explored the opening sections of the game, so who’s to say if Billy Basso designed the game with fast travel in mind? Are you destined to backtrack everywhere?

Related Content

Fortunately, Animal Well does, in fact, feature a fast travel system. To unlock fast travel, you’ll first have to find eight eggs . Eggs are hidden all across the map in treasure chests, so as long as you have a keen eye for exploration, you should hit this goal before too long. For reference, there are sixty-four eggs in the entire game. Once you hit this eight-egg threshold, return to the room to the left of the central hub that has the large peacock in it . It’s marked by a giant egg on your map, so you can’t miss it.

The player obtains the animal flute.

If you have eight (or more) eggs in hand, the bottom-most door will open on the left. Go through here, and pass through the hallway. You’ll enter a room with a treasure chest on a small platform. Jump over to it and open the chest to obtain the Animal Flute . Use this item immediately to awaken the sleeping chinchillas all around you, and then use them to jump up to the entrance on the top right side of the map.

The player uses the animal flute to open the crow's mouth.

Inside this room, you’ll see a crow’s head and a small shrine that looks like a flute. Jump in front of that shrine, and play the Animal Flute again. This will open the crow’s mouth. Leap into it (don’t worry, it won’t bite), and you’ll find yourself in a new room on the bottom-left corner of the map. This is your fast travel hub!

The player uses the animal flute to open the bear's mouth.

All across the well, you’ll see animal heads that correspond to different sections of the map. If you’ve passed by these heads during your travels, they’ll immediately open up for you. Otherwise, you’ll need to explore some more to unlock every single fast travel location. Each corresponding animal head you’ll find in the world will have that same flute shrine in the same room, so just play the Animal Flute in those spots if their mouths aren’t already open for you.

The player stands in the center of the fast-travel hub.

How to instantly warp using the fast travel song

So that’s a nice shortcut and all, but can you really say Animal Well has fast travel if you have to backtrack to those heads? Fortunately, the game features a solution for this too.

In the fast travel hub with the six animal heads, you’ll see a ladder at the bottom of the room. Climb down that, and you’ll enter another room with a fish that pops its head out of the water. Jump down to the small shelf of land by the water, and you’ll see the fish pop its head out repeatedly, this time facing different directions each time.

The player recites the fast travel song.

If you piece together that each direction the fish faces has a differently pitched sound effect, you may realize that this is, in fact, a song you can play using your Animal Flute .

If you just want to know the song outright, play the following notes on the Animal Flute: Right, Right, Left, Left, Down, Down, Up, Up .

If played correctly, your character will instantaneously warp back to the fast travel hub. This works anywhere on the map, so you can enormously cut down on your backtracking time. Make sure to put stamps on your map to help you remember where each animal head will warp you to, and explore the well to your heart’s content!

The player warps using the secret fast travel song.

How to play the other secret warp song

In true Animal Well fashion, even fast traveling has layers of secrets for you to uncover. Admittedly, it’s not a game-changing secret like the first fast travel song, but it does come in handy if you’re determined to uncover every secret in the game.

You can uncover this song after you first see the credits of the game, and it won’t do you much good before then . Needless to say, light spoilers are ahead.

To find the other warp song for yourself, you’ll need to obtain the UV Light . This is one of four secret items you’ll discover as you progress into Animal Well ’s “second layer,” which involves collecting all 64 hidden eggs. Once you find this item, return to the house that you found after watching the credits roll. Travel to the right until you reach the screen with the ominous-looking donut floating around, and use the UV Light. You’ll see a string of arrows written on the wall to the left, followed by a swirly symbol.

The player uses the UV light to reveal a secret song on the wall.

If you’re here just to reference what the song is, play the following notes: Down-Right, Up-Left, Down-Right, Up-Left, Down-Right, Up-Left, Down-Right, Up-Left.

Playing this will warp you to the top of the “well” you find after first finishing the game. This song is very handy if you want to access those endgame areas again, but won’t do much for you before then. Still, make sure to memorize this one once you can make use of it. It’s just two notes repeated over and over, after all.

Cardi B has big plans for the rest of this year, including some chill time, maybe a trip to the beach, but, sorry to report, not releasing her long-awaited sophomore album. The revelation came on Monday (May 14) in a since-deleted response to a comment from an X user who said it was “time for her to pull back from social media platforms,” dubbing the “Bongos” rapper’s engagement with her fans as “unappreciated.”

Watch Cardi B Eat Caribbean Food Off Her Spotify Plaques in New ‘Billions…

Then Cardi dropped a very disappointing truth bomb on the Bardigang. “Anyway NO album this year I don’t care I’m relaxing this year .. Dropping these features I already committed to and traveling and enjoying my summer.”

The revelation was especially harsh considering Cardi celebrated the sixth anniversary of her debut album, Invasion of Privacy , in April by teasing what fans can expect from her forever delayed second full-length. “6 years ago I released my first album and it broke so many records GAH LEE!!” she wrote at the time of the album that debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and earned a Grammy award for best rap album at the 2019 Grammys. “6 years later I’m preparing to drop the next one this year.. it’s so different from what everyone is expecting and I’m sooo excited.”

For now, it seems, fans will have to sate their appetite for more Cardi with her most recent loosies, “ Enough (Miami) ” and the Shakira collab “Puntería,” the latest single from Shak’s Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran album.

Catching up with Ma Lo Ma, the Coke Studio Bangla song ruling your Instagram Reels

Coke studio bangla's "ma lo ma" is a song about inevitable transitions of life and not just bangladesh, the world is catching up to it..

Listen to Story

travelling songs for reel

There are songs that make you fall in love and then there are others that give you motivation. There are ghazals that make you yearn for your lost love, and then, of course, the jazz that makes you want to dance the night away. But how many songs actually make you want to ponder your life’s choices, the journey of life and the dualities of adulthood?

Coke Studio Bangla Season 3 has released its second song "Ma Lo Ma" which has kind of caught up with music enthusiasts across borders. With the rap and folklore brought together in the Bangladeshi song, it is a perfect example of modernity meets tradition.

Listen to the song here:

Produced by Shayan Chowdhury Arnob, “Ma Lo Ma” is sung by Pritom Hasan, Shagor Dewan and Arif Dewan. It is Shagor and Arif’s ancestors who were the original writers of the song “Ma Lo Ma Jhi Lo Jhi”.

They are fourth-generation singers and are synonymous with the folk song genre pala gaan (old performative form that involves the reciting and singing of long narrative oral verses accompanied by mimetic gestures ) .

The brilliant rap, on the other hand, which adds a modern edge to the song, has been done by Aly Hasan.

Ma Lo Ma: What does it mean?

The song starts with the chorus sung by Arif Dewan which goes like this –

Ma lo ma, jhi lo jhi

This translates to: Mother, O mother, Daughter, O Daughter

Boin lo boin, ami korlam ki

This translates to: Sister, O sister, see what I have done here!

Ronge bhanga nouka

This translates to: Just playfully I came to row

Baite anlam gange

This translates to: A broken boat in this riverway

This folk fusion song beautifully captures the journey of life, using powerful metaphors like a broken boat representing life's challenges while river symbolises the world. Through these images, the song explores themes of personal growth and discovery, offering a reflection on the inevitable life changes.

According to the description on YouTube:

“#MALOMA embodies the realisation that life is a journey where the inevitability of adulting and nostalgia work as two sides of a coin. As we grow up, there comes a time echoing the question: 'What am I doing here?' But within this very questioning lies the potential for a beautiful transformation, a self-acceptance that allows us to bloom even in the most demanding seasons. This folk fusion song serves as a conversation acknowledging this inevitable shift, using the metaphor of a broken boat symbolising life and a river symbolising the world.”

There’s another poignant part which evokes nostalgia about our own childhood when singer Shagor Dewan reminisces about his days as a child.

Chilam shishu chilam bhalo

This translates to: I was a child, I was good

Naa chilo shongsharer jala

This translates to : There was no family pressure

Sadai thakitam maa-er shonge

This translates to: I used to be with my mother always

Amar dehete ailo juwani

This translates to: And then, adulthood hit

These lyrics resonate with everyone. As children, we have nothing to worry about, and our world revolves around our mother's protection. However, inevitably, we must step out of that sheltered environment and confront the real world's hardships. This song eloquently captures life's transitions, both universal and personal, in various phases.

The composition gains depth from the infusion of "Chaad Petano Gaan," a form of Shaari Gaan rooted in folk traditions dating back to the Mughal Era. It was later adopted by labourers and building masons working in the urban landscape during the 80s and 90s. The unique musical style merges rhythm and melody with the labourers' toilsome work.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Coke Studio àæ¬àæ¾àæ‚àæ²àæ¾ (@cokestudiobanglaofficial)

You don't have to be proficient in Bangla to enjoy the song. In case you haven't watched the music video of "Ma Lo Ma" yet, go and enjoy it now.

The Techno Pioneer Jeff Mills Blazes a Trail to Space, and Beyond

At 60, the D.J. and producer is inspiring fresh generations with new work, including an LP that approximates the experience of traveling through a black hole.

A black-and-white photo of a man dressed in a dark top and baggy pants walking on a stage between two curtains.

By Mike Rubin

During a recent performance by Tomorrow Comes the Harvest that had some attendees dancing in the aisles at BAM’s Howard Gilman Opera House, a thrilling rhythmic conversation began between the percussionist Sundiata O.M., who was playing African talking drums, and the Detroit techno pioneer Jeff Mills , who tapped out beats on a Roland TR-909 drum machine. Over a 90-minute set, the musicians boldly blended techno, jazz and modern classical, embodying the Art Ensemble of Chicago’s famous credo “Great Black Music, Ancient to the Future.”

Tomorrow Comes the Harvest began in 2018 as a collaboration between Mills and the Afrobeat originator Tony Allen , Fela’s longtime drummer. Despite their stylistic differences, they created a sonic language — based around total improvisation, not typically a techno hallmark — that Mills found so fruitful, he wanted to continue it even after Allen’s 2020 death. “My hope,” Mills said, during an interview backstage, “is that Tomorrow Comes the Harvest becomes an approach to play music — not always the same sound, but the idea of figuring it out while playing.”

Mills has blazed a singular trail over the past four decades: from his 1980s roots as the Detroit nightclub and FM radio D.J. the Wizard to his early 1990s period with the politically conscious Motor City techno collective Underground Resistance to his solo work helping define the sleek, stripped-down minimal techno genre. While always known as a dazzling D.J., Mills has continually expanded his horizons beyond the booth, including on high-concept album projects that began with “Discovers the Rings of Saturn” from the group X-102 in 1992, up through his new LP, “The Trip — Enter the Black Hole,” released last week on vinyl via his own Axis label.

Mills lifted Tomorrow Comes the Harvest’s name from a phrase coined by the science fiction author Octavia Butler, who was describing the potential power of seeds, properly sown, to influence the future. The metaphor seems apt for Mills’s entire career, which has inspired generations of electronic musicians, like Mali Mase, a 25-year-old D.J. and producer who releases music as Sweater on Polo.

“To me, Jeff Mills is someone who exhibits mastery, not only in techno, but all forms of expressions he explores,” said Mase, who spun a set dedicated to Mills during the 2023 edition of Dweller , a Black-centered annual techno festival in New York. “It would be so simple for him to sit back and bask in the spectacle of his own greatness. Instead, he challenges the forms established, reinvents, and still beats it sicker than anyone on a drum machine.”

At 60, Mills carries himself with a low-key cool befitting his role as one of techno’s elder statesmen. In conversation he’s thoughtful but soft-spoken, gently proposing visionary ideas between sips of tea. His stylish outfit — an olive velvet Jil Sander turtleneck with wide-legged pants by the design house Pet-tree-kor, accented by his recently dyed blond hair — seemed appropriate attire for the “Man From Tomorrow,” the title of a 2014 French documentary about him. In a text message, the veteran Detroit house music producer and D.J. Theo Parrish called Mills “the example of how to carry yourself out of nightlife and into proper artistry.”

“The Trip” is the soundtrack to a live multimedia production billed as “the world’s first cosmic opera,” which Mills and the avant-garde vocalist Jun Togawa presented last month in Tokyo . The project — Mills’s attempt to grapple with what might happen to humans journeying via spacecraft toward and through a black hole — expresses the potential distortions of time and reality through glistening ambience, propulsive percussion, swirling synth storms and interstellar sound effects.

Space travel is a running theme in Mills’s work, a fascination that dates back to his childhood watching syndicated reruns of the 1960s TV show “Lost in Space.” The Tokyo live presentation required nearly a year in preproduction, Mills said, employing dancers, choreographers and costume designers. He even went to Las Vegas to study casino floor shows, he said, so that he could better reimagine electronic music and how the audience might engage with it.

“I was always into the more innovative part of music, the conceptual, because that’s closer to comics,” Mills said. “I always had this idea that music should be like that: You should walk away with something after you hear it.”

On the opening night of Dweller last year, Mills premiered the newest version of his soundtrack to Fritz Lang’s 1927 silent sci-fi classic “Metropolis” (he’d composed an earlier iteration in 2000), and found a receptive audience among the festival’s young attendees. “He’s a teacher, and I appreciate that his music provides space for thought, as well as providing a blueprint of how to inscribe music with liberatory potential,” said Ryan C. Clarke, the festival’s director of educational programming. “When he was doing his mixing thing as the Wizard on WJLB, he might as well have been Charlie Parker at Minton’s Playhouse. We’re still coming to grips with the amount of complexity that he brought to the music.”

Indeed, Mills is techno’s Renaissance man. Besides “Metropolis,” he has created soundtracks and “cinemixes” for a number of silent films. He’s recorded classical versions of his techno tracks with France’s Montpellier Philharmonic Orchestra, electronic jazz as the Paradox, and Latin jazz as the Zanza 22. Where Mills once hid his identity behind a balaclava back in his Underground Resistance days, last year he became the face of the German fashion brand Jil Sander’s ad campaign, and provided the soundtrack for the unveiling of the Dior Men’s fall collection in front of the Pyramids of Giza.

“It’s not fashion that I’m interested in,” Mills said. “It’s people and how we’re evolving. What we wear is an extension of who we are and who we’d like to be. Clothing or a second skin shows our ambitions. It shows where we want to go.”

Mills began D.J.ing in high school, fooling around with his older brother’s disco records, and by his late teens his skills were already worthy of his chosen nickname the Wizard . By the time he was 20, he’d made a reputation for himself spinning at Detroit clubs like Cheeks, and soon joined the Detroit radio station WDRQ. While there (and later at WJLB), he became a sensation for his dizzying, high-velocity mixes blending hip-hop, electro and industrial music on three turntables; Mills explained that WDRQ execs were so terrified that his pyrotechnic scratching would break a needle live on air, they put an emergency third turntable nearby, and he eventually just began to use all three.

In 1989 he joined up with the former Parliament-Funkadelic session musician Mike Banks and the rapper and producer Robert Hood in Underground Resistance , techno’s answer to Public Enemy, which espoused a philosophy of defiant D.I.Y. self-reliance. With the motto “Hard Music From a Hard City,” the trio brought a new aggression to Detroit techno that proved a massive influence on the evolution of the German techno scene. In a text message, Banks described their global role as “sound ambassadors.”

Mills left Detroit for New York to become resident D.J. at the Limelight, and then spent the next three decades bouncing between Chicago and Berlin. A few years ago he moved his studio to Miami, though he spends most of his time in Paris. Recently, however, he and his wife also acquired an apartment in downtown Detroit, and he says he has a long list of projects he plans to initiate there. “It should be a city that spurs and develops ideas and creates them from the ground up,” he said.

Tomorrow Comes the Harvest was presented at BAM as part of the Long Play festival, curated by the experimental music organization Bang on a Can. David Lang, one of the group’s founders, said there was a connection between Mills’s ensemble and the lush pulsing of works like Steve Reich’s “Music for 18 Musicians.” “Jeff Mills has always noted his commitment to minimalism,” Lang said, “to reducing musical ornament, to his concentration on structure, and you hear all that here, loud and clear.”

The group’s BAM performance was Mills’s largest non-D.J. booking in the United States, but he’s hopeful there are even larger spectaculars on his event horizon. “We can really work to create more of an experience, rather than just the performance of music,” he said. “We can really create magic. We need to make the audience disappear and reappear somewhere else. That’s what we should be working on.”
