GROUPLOVE IN CONCERT: Grouplove's feel-good live shows make a strong case for a literal reading of the band's name. Featuring passionate performances, upbeat indie anthems, and audience participation, the band's shows are collective experiences that satisfy both musically and emotionally. Propelled by the group's accessible indie pop songwriting, 2013 sophomore album Spreading Rumors landed at No. 21 on the Billboard 2013, building excitement for their 2014 tour dates with supporting acts MS MR and Alex Winston. BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT: Grouplove's formation reads like the plot of a '60s free love coming-of-age story. One week after making each others' acquaintance in New York's Lower East Side, vocalist Hannah Hooper and guitarist/vocalist Christian Zucconi left town for an artist retreat in Crete, where they met the band's three additional members Andrew Wessen, Ryan Rabin, and Sean Gadd. After performing their first show in LA in 2010, the band was invited on tour with Florence and the Machine, generating significant buzz in advance of their 2011 full-length debut Never Trust a Happy Song. On the ensuing international headlining tour, the band honed their performance skills and developed the sound heard on acclaimed 2013 follow-up album Spreading Rumors. Amazing experience.

I’ve been waiting to see Grouplove live for a while now and they were awesome! They were fun, energetic, authentically themselves and sounded great! 9:30 was the perfect venue to see them because it felt so intimate and the phonics were top notch!

Worth Every Cent

This was my first time watching Grouplove live and it was amazing!!!! They sound maybe even better live. The light show was also a big star since it made the experience that much more entertaining. Would pay to see them again!

I’ve been a fan of Grouplove for years but I never would have guessed they would be so amazing live!!!!

Amazing energy and such a great show! I’ve been seeing bands since the early 90s so I’m ‘old’ now and generally don’t love being in the thick mix of people but this was an exception. Also… how many people did they confuse when they covered Blur’s ‘Song2’ 🙌🏻👏🏻

VIP Tickets

I'm not really sure getting the VIP tickets was worth the extra money. Don't get me wrong, the show itself was fantastic. I was just hoping to have a photo op or something with the band. The VIP tickets got us signed VIP lanyards, little art print books, and early access, but it wasn't a 'meet n greet' like I expected. The main band members stood on stage and answered a few questions that were apparently written in advance. They were "running short on time"so they didn't take any other questions from the VIP attendees.

Grouplove was GREAT! Venue was over way over sold IMO

Stars are for the venue. Grouplove rocked it out and sounded great. But it was a huge disappointment when we couldn't even get into / on the main floor because there were so many people there. I have been to St Andrews Hall before and have never been pushed back so far. For my first time seeing Grouplove is sucked that I never really got to "see"them.

Love this band

It was a small venue. GroupLove sounds just like the album. They played old and new. They know how to keep it going. I love the Art on the tee shirts and sweat shirts. I will see this band again for sure.

They put on a fantastic show! They open with "I'm With You" and I hate to say it, but that's the best part. They come out with rapid, crazy lights and TONS of energy so the crowd is at its peak, and it carries through the entire song--truly memorable. That same excitement doesn't hold up, though, so don't expect a high octane show. Again, I had an amazing time and I really, really enjoyed them. I wouldn't hesitate to see them again--I might when they come to Richmond in a few months--but I'm just saying that it's odd how it climaxes early and then mellows out from then on. Interesting stuff. I definitely would HIGHLY recommend them, though, they're bunches of fun and are excellent performers.

Grouplove was amazing!!! The concert was very fun, lit, and full of amazing vibes. Grouplove sure knows how to throw a show, this was their best show yet. Since the first time i listened to Close Your Eyes And Cont To Ten, i fell in love with them. And when you hear them live you get this amazing feeling inside of you and it comes out and you become free. I had so much fun being in the front row singing my heart out, making eye contact with all the band members, and enjoying their music live. Nothing beats live music, especially Grouplove's.

After watching Grouplove's live, I started to feel grateful about life again. I have been in a gloomy mood this week, but when I saw Grouplove, I suddenly felt connected to their energy and hippie spirits, which are so contagious. I absolutely love them. I am not so sure when the new album Big Mess came out because I love Never Trust A Happy Song more, while after seeing their live, I can say that going to their live is among my rightest choices. Christian's voice is amazing, besides Hannah another guitarist sang too and sounded great as well. I love their style, their stage presence and their spontaneous spirits in their heart.

About Grouplove

Grouplove (also typeset as GROUPLOVE) is a US-based indie band that formed in 2009 by Hannah Hooper (vocals, keys), Christian Zucconi (vocals, guitar), Sean Gadd (bass, vocals), Andrew Wessen (guitar, vocals), and Ryan Rabin (drums). Ryan Rabin produced their debut EP which was originally released independently by themselves, and was later re-released by Canvasback/Atlantic with a bonus track and their hit song, "Colours". Their debut album, Never Trust a Happy Song, was also produced by Rabin and was released worldwide on September 13, 2011.
