Limited small lots nearby, some charge $10. - Cruise thru some of the shops. Look for the awesome man-sized Demo Day hammers. - Grab the kids or some guys and play whiffle ball on the turf ball diamond ala "Sandlot". BYO equipment or buy them in the #16 Shop. - Cornhole is another active option. - Ample room for tossing football on the turf. - #16 Shop has great guy merchandise ranging from vintage looking sports balls, man care toiletries, games, to awesome leather goods. - They serve good black coffee and Boylan root beer. We booked an all-day private tour of Dallas and Ft Worth which started in the morning with drive-bys of neighborhoods, different style homes and speculation of who may live there. After 15 minutes, it got very boring and was of no interest to any us. Every aspect: the drive, the stops, the dialogue were extremely scripted and monotone almost as if you were being read to. If you asked a question that was outside of the “speech”, the response was some form of “We’ll get back to that.” and the speech went on. We heard the phrase “…. If you will…” ad nauseam at the end of every third sentence. We saw a church we wanted to stop and look at and were told, “There is a better church scheduled later on.” There is a vast difference between engaging with your group to optimize the experience vs reciting pamphlet copy. No option for deviating from the itinerary which was our whole purpose of going private. We unfortunately had bad weather and instead of pivoting and suggesting some indoor options (like the museum or library) we had to soldier-on adhering to an itinerary that were totally flexible with. We would have been better off cancelling the afternoon and staying in Dallas even if we taxi-ed back on our own. We originally paid for four people and added two more. I asked for a reduction in price for the last two which was refused. It was too late to cancel without penalty but that should have been the indicator to cut our losses. The SUV did not accommodate six adults comfortably especially for that long a timeframe. I enjoy private tours when visiting new cities which is usually 2-3 times per year and up until Dallas have had success with Trip Advisor recommendations. We booked this tour because of the previous five-star reviews but I would disagree and not recommend or use this company on the next trip. Read more Written March 10, 2024

We went to Grapevine and some additions. Rebecca was very knowledgeable and gave me some excellent recommendations on what to do with my remaining days in the city. We booked four tours with them all together. Picked us up at our hotel in a very comfortable SUV. (Always on time). So many details we learned and saw, more than we expected. They shared information about great restaurants which we went to three of them. So nice to have someone to take our picture in front of special places. We came to town for a wedding but wanted to learn more about Dallas. We decided this 4 hour tour would be ideal. Our guide, Erin, communicated with us in the weeks prior to our trip and even recommended a good hotel we could stay at that she could pick us up at to start the tour. We met her at 9am on Monday. Erin showed up in a Lexus SUV which was very comfortable and cool, which was a welcomed thing in the 97 degree heat. We were pleased to learn we were in for a private tour that day. I am hearing impaired and sat in the front and my wife sat in the back. Erin, was super! She was so friendly and welcoming. She is a Dallas native so really knows the history of the city and was able to answer all of our questions in a such a way that we knew she loves the city and knows all about it. The JFK history was the reason we booked the tour but her guide through the parks and the art and the the architecture and the beautiful nearby neighborhood made it difficult to decide what we liked best. We highly recommend Erin and the Dallas Highlights tour to all! We will definitely be back and will tour with Erin again… maybe the Fort Worth and rodeo tour??? Thanks for your style, Erin. I was impressed with Discover Dallas Tours even days before the tour, when Rebecca called me to learn my points of interest. She spent an hour on the phone with me, sharing the latest developments in Dallas and answering questions about my move out there! On the day of my tour, my guide, Erin, was punctual, welcoming, and knowledgable. She tailored the tour to my interests! Instead of glazing past landmarks, she gave us in-depth history and shared hidden gems only known to locals. My dad and I had a great day and felt so much better about my move after Erin's insights. Our tour begins in the heart of Downtown Dallas. You will Visit Dealey Plaza, the site of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination. Learn about this pivotal moment in history and take in the view of the infamous “Grassy Knoll” Pioneer Plaza: Our second stop is Pioneer Plaza, a stunning outdoor sculpture park featuring larger-than-life bronze statues of cattle, cowboys, and pioneers. Learn about Dallas’s Western heritage and take memorable photos with these captivating sculptures. and much more. Then we will transport you to the world of the Ewings. .Explore the Southfork Ranch, known as a set for the TV show ‘Dallas’. Take home some collectibles from the “Ranch Round-Up” store in the visitor’s center where you’ll find a wide assortment of items seen on the show and worn by the cast. Enjoy a guided train from the Visitor’s Center to the Ewing Mansion that will not only provide you with a history of the property but will give you a chance to see Texas Longhorns and American Quarter horses. The mansion itself is the next stop on the tour. You’ll hear interesting facts about the filming done there and character insights as you see the “most famous White House” and even J.R. Ewing’s bedroom. After the mansion tour, you can stroll around the ranch and stop at “Lincolns and Longhorns,” where on display you’ll find Jock Ewing’s original 1978 Lincoln Continental as well as “Dallas” inspired clothing and accessories.
