One Piece treasure cruise character analysis - God Usopp

Author's Avatar

Since it's Usopp week #UsoppWeek and the new legend God Usopp just released in the Japanese version of the game I thought it might be interesting to do a small character analysis on him. This blog is mostly directed towards players who are somewhat experienced in the game and its mechanics already. Read One piece treasure cruise character guide to learn most of what there is to a character. However this blog will also contain a few aspects that go beyond what is explained in the character guide. Now let's get into the blog.

usopp one piece treasure cruise

6* God Usopp

At maxed level 99 his stats are:

Attack: 1,291

Recovery: 441

Socket slots: 5

Overall these stats are alright, a little low for a legend maybe but still it isn't bad either. Especially considering it'san Usopp character who are usually known for their not so good stats.

His captain ability:

Boosts ATK of all characters by 1.5x if HP is below 50% or by 1.75x if HP is below 30% at the start of the turn. Makes STR, DEX, QCK, PSY, INT, RCV, and TND orbs "beneficial" to all characters.

So you won't be able to do that much damage with Usopp as a captain mostly because of the low attack boost. However the guaranteed matching orbs (in most situations) make sure you do very consistent damage. So you'll do a little less damage most of the time but at least you know you are gonna do some damage. I wouldn't reccomend using him as captain on any team except when your friend captain relies on having matching orbs. The best captain to pair Usopp up with is SW Ace, who gives you a x3 attack boost when you have matching orbs but doesn't increase the chance of getting matching orbs. Having a Usopp paired with SW Ace will mean the whole team is guaranteed of Ace's x3 attack boost.

His sailor ability:

Completely resists Blindness

Very nice. Blindness usually means your timing will be off so you either miss a lot or hit goods and greats meaning you will deal considerably less damage. It's a very annoying debuff overall especially for captains who need to hit either a good, great, or perfect.

usopp one piece treasure cruise

His special ability:

Long-Range Attack: Bagworm

Stage 1 (13 → 10 turns): Delays all enemies for 3 turns

Stage 2 (18 → 15 turns): Delays all enemies for 4 turns, adds 0.2x to Chain multiplier for 4 turns

Stage 3 (24 → 21 turns): Delays all enemies for 5 turns, adds 0.3x to Chain multiplier for 4 turns

His special is what makes this Usopp so amazing. A multi staged special that on the lowest stage does exactly the same as Golden pound Usopp letting you get an extra 3 turns of attack. On the third stage it delays for 5 turns, which is amazing. You can do so many damage over the course of 5 turns. But on top of that he also adds to the chain multiplier. This is a pretty unique buff so you can stack it with other buffs for that bit of extra damage.

Overall I think this is an amazing unit to use as a sub. You can literally use him on almost any team and make it work. Overall not the best captain in my opinion but matching orbs can still be very nice.

But wait there's more...

usopp one piece treasure cruise

6*+ Captain Usopp

That's right God Usopp already has a 6*+ form right after his release, that is like the original 6* God Usopp pretty amazing.

Attack: 1,341

Recovery: 481

These stats are alright, a small upgrade from his original 6* form which is pretty nice.

Boosts ATK of Shooter characters by 1.5x if HP is below 50% or by 1.75x if HP is below 30% at the start of the turn. Makes STR, DEX, QCK, PSY, INT, RCV, and TND orbs "beneficial" to Shooter characters. At the beginning of each Stage, increases the Attack Timer of all enemies by 1 turn

Note: The Attack Timer increase is NOT a delay, so the enemies can still be delayed. Attack Timer increase ignores Debuff Prevention barriers

This captain ability now only works on a shooter team unfortunately, however this still means it would work well on a SW Ace team. It still gives the same attack boost and still has the matching orbs which is nice. But the best part about it is that it delays all enemies on the whole stage you're playing by one turn, without it counting as a delay so you can still delay the enemy. This will let you stall for about 5 more turns in total on stages like raid bosses or Coloseums. This captain ability is very useful if you want to be able to stall for longer periods of time without taking too much damage on the rest of the stage. But the boss will also be dalayed by 1 turn so you'll be able to have dealt more damage by the time the boss attacks.

This is literally the same as his original 6* form, which is still very nice.

usopp one piece treasure cruise

Green Star, Impact Wolf

Cuts the current HP of each enemy by 10%. If enemies have Delay Prevention, ignores it and Delays all enemies for 1 turn. Otherwise, Delays all enemies for 3 turns

Cooldown 16 turns → 13 turns

The HP cut here is nice, but the best thing about this special is that it can go trough delay protection. The enemies with delay protection aren't meant to be dalayed but Usopp just doesn't care. This allows you to delay some tough enemies to do some extra damage in that extra turn you get. And if they don't have a delay protection you'll delay them for 3 turns. This is a great special to have and on a fairly decent cooldown.

Overall both of these are amizing in different circumstances so you really want to think about wether to evolve your 6* Usopp to 6*+. This concludes my analysis on 6* Usopp and 6*+ Usopp, hope you all enjoyed it.

One Piece Treasure Cruise Guide: Tips and Strategy

usopp one piece treasure cruise

PUBLISHED 9 YEARS AGO

OPTC is an excellent game very similar to Brave Frontier, except that you get more action and fun. There is no auto battle option and requires way more skill, which is something for a change. Here is a general guide for One Piece Treasure Cruise.

One Piece Treasure Cruise Guide: Tips and Strategy

Character Types and Relationships

Character Types

Source: OPTC Guide

Each type comes with its on strength and weaknesses.

  • STR – Strong against DEX (2x Attack Power) and weak against QCK (0.5x Attack Power)
  • DEX – Strong against QCK (2x Attack Power) and weak against STR (0.5x Attack Power)
  • QCK – Strong against STR (2x Attack Power) and weak against DEX (0.5x Attack Power)
  • PSY – Strong against INT (2x Attack Power)
  • INT – Strong against PSY (2x Attack Power)

If you ever forget these relationships, check the top left corner of your game when in battle. Each character type can further be classified into a subclass of Fighter, Shooter, Slasher or Striker.

How to Open Cases in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Keep Your Starting Characters

Monkey D Luffy

Sometimes, you will be tempted to sell off characters that you think are not that strong. Keep in mind you will get the following characters – Luffy, Coby, Zoro, Usopp, Sanji, Nami and Chopper from story mode.

We recommend upgrading Usopp to Golden Pound Usopp by swiping right. He is one of the best characters in the game. Golden Pound Usopp’s special takes 15(10 max special lvl) turns to charge and that could be the deciding factor in winning a battle later on.

Leveling Your Characters and Crew Cost

Always be sure to power up your characters by feeding characters you won’t be using to the ones that are in your main team. Just make sure you don’t feed those we mentioned earlier. 🙂

Crew cost can only be increased as your pirate level increases. The pirate level is basically your experience bar. You gain them by fighting regular campaign maps. Every time your pirate level goes up, your crew cost will increase.

Special Attacks and Captain Abilities

Special Attacks OPTC

Each character will have a special attack. For example Usopp is great character with a good special attack but weak normal attacks. His special attack will delay the enemy for 3 turns, which is very helpful against bosses. Special attacks can be leveled by feeding the same character with the same skill.

Captain Abilities(CA) are leader skills which gives the entire party a specific bonus. For example, Zoro’s CA boosts Dex by x1.5 and is very good in an all DEX team. Use the most suitable CA that will benefit the entire team.

Tandem Attacks

Tandem attacks are special moves only usable when you have specific characters in your team. They are very powerful and deal tonnes of damage. Here are a few tandem attack combos:

Tornado Tabasco Pound Phoenix – Deals 3x character’s ATK in damage to all enemies in back. Requires  Nami Tornado Tempo ,  Usopp Tabasco Star  and  Roronoa Zoro Pound Phoenix .

Weak Trio/Guts Attack – Deals 2x character’s ATK in damage to all enemies in front. Requires  Nami ,  Usopp  and  Tony Tony Chopper .

Golden Mirage Shot – Deals 2x character’s ATK in damage to all enemies. Requires  Usopp Usopp Golden Pound ,  Nami Mirage tempo  and  Chef Sanji Hot Rock Stew .

For more tandem attack info, check this out .

Need More Beli and Gems?

Beli is what you need to level or evolve your characters. The best place to get Beli is on weekends at the Golden Cavern Island. Depending on which level you farm, you should be expecting ~30k to 70k Beli. Regular maps also drop Beli but not as much as Golden Cavern Island.

Gems is the “Pay to Win” currency which you can get some even if you are free to play. Here are a few ways to get free gems:

  • Login daily to get a free gem
  • Login streaks will provide more gems
  • Completing story mode provides gems upon completing it for the first time
  • Completing new islands on Extra Isle will give you 1 gem.
  • Raid bosses provides 1 gem for completing all difficulties(one time only)
  • Special events Bandai gives will give gems

Guest Captains and Friend Points

Always add friends and use any Guest Captain relative to your level to make battles easier. It is important to add friends initially when you are weaker. Once your characters get stronger, you can opt to be more picky with who you add as a friend.

Friend points can be used to get new characters. The odds of getting a good character is slim, but you can save all friend points until you get a special event where they give higher odds of getting things like pigs. It will be more worthwhile.

Ships

Source: OPTC

Merry Go is the only ship worth using cola on. It provides 1.5x boost to crews attack and 300Hp, which is pretty nice. Cola is used to upgrade the ships.

Cola can be gotten from regular maps and treasure chests. Spend some stamina farming story mode with plenty of stages such as Twin Cape 10 or Little Garden 10.

Good Characters to Farm

You can get some decent characters from story mode. The drop rates are quite low however. We do recommend you farming these characters suggested by optcguide.com :

  • Alvida (Ch 3 – Alvida’s Hideout & 2 Ch 2,6 Loguetown)
  • Morgan (Ch 9 – Shells Town)
  • Buggy (Ch 5,13 – Orange Town & Ch 8 – Lougetown )
  • Kuro (Ch 5,13 – Syrup Village )
  • Zeff (Ch 3 – Baratie)
  • Don Krieg (Ch 5,15 – Baratie)
  • Arlong (Ch 14,15 – Arlong Park)
  • Tashigi (Ch 10 – Loguetown)
  • Smoker (Ch 12 Loguetown)
  • Vivi (Ch 5,6,8 Twin Cape & Ch 4 Whiskey Peak)
  • Laboon (Ch 9,10 Twin Cape)
  • Miss Monday (Ch 3,7 Whiskey Peak)
  • Mr.5 (Ch 9,13,14 Whiskey Peak)
  • Mr.3 (Ch 11,15 Little Garden)
  • Broggy (Ch 6 Little Garden)
  • Dorry (Ch 7 Little Garden)

There you have it guys! Now go kick some butt!

Usopp is a three-star character. His special is liar.

One Piece Treasure Cruise - Best crews to start off your voyage

One Piece Treasure Cruise - Best crews to start off your voyage

One Piece Treasure Cruise features an extensive roster of characters built up over its almost ten-year pedigree, featuring a variety of both obscure and famous fighters from across the Grand Line and New World for you to play.

What is a crew?

So, tandems are really only present for FTP (free-to-play) characters. They can be useful very early on if you want to boost your team’s damage but don’t rely on them as they’re not particularly useful in the long run. But, as for how to build your crew there’s a variety of methods, with complimentary abilities, specials and more.

Now, for a basic overview of how characters work; each character has an element, which is a pretty common mechanic in most Japanese games . These represent different attributes and how they’re strong or weak against another, to start off with you’ll want to prioritise getting your commonly unlocked characters levelled up, the Strawhat Pirates. After that you'll concentrate on experimenting with new characters, it can seem a bit overwhelming at first, but we've got some sample crews to get you started, and one highly recommended deck from a few years ago that should let you breeze through the early game.

Here are some crew suggestions to get you started:

1 #1 - “Straw Hat Pirates”

usopp one piece treasure cruise

Characters: (Captain) Luffy, Sanji, Zoro, Usopp, Nami

The Straw Hat Pirates are probably the most recognisable group from the series. And, as we noted in our tier list, they also have the greatest variety of evolutions and variants in One Piece Treasure Cruise. Since you unlock these characters throughout the main story, you’ll most likely have them, and they’re a great way to introduce yourself to how evolutions work; Luffy, Sanji, Zoro and Usopp also gain their own tandem attack, although as we noted this won’t be of much use early on, but can still be helpful if you’re mainly using FTP characters.

2 #2 - “Arlong Pirates”

usopp one piece treasure cruise

Characters: (Captain) Arlong, Choo, Hatchan, Kuroobi, Fishman Pirates or duplicates to round out

One of the early teams who also have a tandem attack, the Fishman Pirates are another group that you’ll unlock through your adventures in the main story. They’re a good choice to expand beyond the central Straw Hat Crew, and at one point Arlong’s evolution was considered a top-tier character. Time, and updates, have neutered that potential somewhat but as you go through the vanilla story arc he’ll be more than suitable for a hard-hitting team. This is also one scenario where you may want to use generic fighting characters to round out - if you want to keep the theme that is. Otherwise, sub in a Straw Hat or anyone else who rounds out your elements.

You’ll also be able to evolve Arlong further as you go, although the other Fishmen will likely need to be subbed out in order to make space for other characters as you progress.

3 #3 - “EXPLaw”

usopp one piece treasure cruise

This is a team you’ll frequently see cited for newer players. The bad news is you’ll need this version of Trafalgar Law and most likely Smoker to make it work, as well as a friend who has Law as well to be your ‘guest’ fighter. However, the good news is that the other three Straw Hats are all evolutions of their starting characters, so even if you’re FTP there’s only a need for about three out of six characters to be unlocked via pulls. As it stands this is one of the more detailed teams for clearing early-game content, but always bear in mind that mileage may vary with newer updates.

However, the general layout of this team speaks to the fact that - if you play your cards right - you’ll likely end up with rarer recruits early on. If you’re a lore purist this may be a little off-putting, but when you get rare team characters that you can play or want to grind and farm earlier content there’s no reason not to break out of the Straw Hat team.

4 Additional Tips & Resources

Thanks to nearly ten years of development and community engagement the One Piece Treasure Cruise fandom has put together a number of resources. The One Piece Treasure Cruise wiki offers detailed breakdowns of almost half the entire cast, although it cuts off some of the newer cards, while Nakama Network is an excellent resource for seeing what teams other players are running to clear content as well as trialling your own.

As we recommend in our reroll guide for One Piece Treasure Cruise , one key thing to remember and that we see shouted from the rooftops for new players is to wait for Sugo Fests when pulling. These roughly twice-per-month events allow for much greater pull chances of rare recruits and are considered basically the only time you should spend your Rainbow Gems, or - God forbid - real money.

"God" Usopp [10] is the sniper of the Straw Hat Pirates and one of the Senior Officers of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet . [2] He is the fourth member of the crew and the third to join, doing so at the end of the Syrup Village Arc . Although he left the crew during the Water 7 Arc , he rejoined at the end of the Post-Enies Lobby Arc . [17]

Usopp is the son of Yasopp and the late Banchina . He was born and raised in Syrup Village , serving as " captain " of the Usopp Pirates and being Kaya 's close friend. After working with the Straw Hats to defeat Kuro and the Black Cat Pirates , he was invited to join the crew. Despite his usual cowardice, Usopp dreams of becoming a brave warrior of the sea just like his father and lives every day in pursuit of living up to this dream.

Before the Timeskip

Usopp is a slim tan-skinned teenager with medium-length black curly hair, prominent lips and a long nose, which is apparently an allusion to Pinocchio (a wooden boy from a story of the same name who possessed a nose that would stretch after he lied). Usopp inherited his famous nose from his mother, while the rest of his face closely resembles his father's. During the Straw Hat separation , after landing in the Boin Archipelago , Usopp grew obese from overeating.

Like the rest of the males of the crew, he wore one outfit for the majority of the series before wearing different clothing by the end of the Paradise . Usopp usually wore an olive green plaid bandanna, a blue and white striped armband on his left arm, along with special sniper goggles (he also has a pair of clear rectangular goggles that he sometimes wears in situations where he does not have his sniper goggles, like when he first met the Straw Hat Pirates or when his sniper goggles were stolen by Mr. 2 ), brown overalls with a white sash and no shirt underneath. He also carries with him a yellow satchel, which he stores all his tools and gadgets in.

During the Drum Island Arc , he wore a brown jumper with white fur collar and cuffs, faded yellow gloves and grey pants with a black "c" pattern.

During the walk through the desert in the Arabasta Arc , he wore a brown keffiyeh under his goggles and a dull red (blue in Volume 19 cover, and dull green in the anime) and black striped desert cloak.

During the Skypiea Arc , he wore a murky green shirt underneath brown overalls and some bandages on his torso and arms after getting attacked by Enel .

During the final game of the Davy Back Fight , he wore a yellow zip-up coach jacket, a red towel around his shoulders, and silver sunglasses with purple lenses. Usopp was also trusted with Luffy's straw hat which he wore on his head.

During the Water 7 Arc , he wore bandages under his overalls again after being attacked by the Franky Family .

While onboard the Puffing Tom he put on a gold-colored sun-like mask he found in a compartment over his goggles and wore a red cape, calling this superhero persona " Sogeking ". Usopp wore this costume for the rest of the Enies Lobby Arc .

During the Thriller Bark Arc , Usopp wore a purple cape and a wide brim purple hat with a necklace of garlic to ward off evil creatures.

During the Sabaody Archipelago Arc , Usopp wore an unbuttoned turquoise shirt instead of his overalls and some green shorts with a yellow flower pattern on one leg.

After the Timeskip

After the two-year timeskip, Usopp has become much more muscular than before and has grown his hair out. He has become "manlier" and is slightly taller than before.

Usopp now has a new pair of goggles around his neck (his sniper goggles weren't shown) and has some headphones or ear protectors on. He also now has a little goatee along with a new white wide brim sun cap he wears on his head. He also has a new pair of rolled-up yellow pants with red suspenders and a pair of boots.

His trademark yellow satchel has been replaced with a red one, but he still has his blue and white striped wristband on his left arm.

During the Punk Hazard Arc , he wore a purple coat with light blue lining on the sides, which he took from one of Brownbeard 's Centaur Patrol Unit .

During the Dressrosa Arc , he wore an orange open jacket with a ring of circles on the arms and a red cap which has a pointy stub on the end, which he used to make the Dwarves believe he was a descendant of Noland .

During the Zou Arc , he wore a light green short-sleeved collared shirt buttoned up halfway with a short, black line on the middle of each sleeve and a dark green cap with his signature goggles resting on top of it.

In the Wano Country Arc , Usopp wears a light blue yukata underneath a pair of black and white striped hakama , as well as a green bandanna adorned with a frog and fake old man beard. During the Raid on Onigashima , Usopp wears his usual yellow pants, blue and white striped wristband, satchel, and headphones, however instead of suspenders, Usopp decides to wear a dark multi-colored armor plate with brown gloves and red protective head gear. When Kin'emon used his Devil Fruit abilities again to disguise them, he wore a Beasts Pirates disguise, adding his googles as a part of the disguise.

During the Egghead Arc , Usopp wears a lime green jumpsuit, a forest green jacket with matching gloves, a purple bandana with a gear pattern, and a gold earpiece with an antenna on it. He also wears a pair of sunglasses with yellow-orange lenses, an orange satchel with a beige strap, and a pair of gold DOM Shoes.

In the Movie 2 , he initially appears with a red and white striped swimwear. After the Trump Pirates stole the Going Merry with his clothes inside, he had to wear a brown kimono and a black hat from a wedding store. Then he changes his clothes for an orange jacket and dark green pants, returning to wear his usual bandanna.

In the Movie 3 , he wears overalls with camouflage print, his white sash at the waist. He also wears his orange glasses during the plot. Also momentarily, he wears an extravagant lion costume designed by himself.

During the G-8 Arc , he infiltrates as a Marine soldier, wearing a Marine uniform and cap.
