CLUTCH Announces Summer/Fall 2022 U.S. Tour With HELMET And QUICKSAND

U.S. groove rock masters CLUTCH will embark on a U.S. tour in late summer. Joining them on the 26-date run will be HELMET and QUICKSAND , who will be rotating the main support slot nightly, and special guest JD Pinkus . Ticket for the tour go on sale this Friday, June 17 from ClutchOnTour.com .

Earlier today, CLUTCH dropped a brand-new single, "We Strive For Excellence" . The track is available digitally from all DSPs.

CLUTCH released its first new single, "Red Alert (Boss Metal Zone)" , back in April to much acclaim from fans and critics alike. The track has already hit nearly 300,000 streams on Spotify alone and the official music video, directed by David Brodsky , has clocked up 340,000 YouTube views.

Early last year, drummer Jean-Paul Gaster told the Chicago-based webzine Metal Kaoz that he and his CLUTCH bandmates had "written a lot of songs" for the follow-up to 2018's "Book Of Bad Decisions" LP. He said: "We've been writing now for our new album, and I think we're spending more time than ever in the studio, just trying out different ideas. And most of the ideas don't ever really make it to the end; we try 10 things and we keep one.

"I think we are even more selective than we were before as to which ideas we really decide to focus on. And I think it is because we have so much more time. Before, we would come home for a tour and maybe we would have three weeks off. So, the first week, we don't do really much of anything — everybody goes back home to their families and we rest — and then the next two weeks we would get together and we would just jam really hard and get a bunch of ideas, and then on the road and play those ideas, and then come back and do it again. And that process might go on for a year and a half. This has been different. This is the first time where we've had so much time at home to work on ideas and never really tried them in a live setting. So I'm not sure how it's gonna impact the record. But I think it's gonna make for a different album — whether it's good, bad or otherwise, it's too early to tell. But, for sure, it's a different dynamic, and it requires more of us.

"So often, when we have new ideas and we put them in front of an audience, you can really tell right away — we know right away if the song is the right tempo, we know right away if the riffs are where they need to be, if the chorus is the way it needs to be," Gaster added. "It's a testing ground. And we don't have that right now. So, for that reason, I think we are being a lot more careful about what ideas we really wanna focus on, and which ones we think, 'You know what? We've done that before. Let's do something a little different.'"

"Book Of Bad Decisions" was recorded at Sputnik Sound studio in Nashville, Tennessee with producer Vance Powell . The record sold 26,000 copies in America during its first week of availability, giving the group its third consecutive Top 20 album on the Billboard 200.

Clutch Announce Fall 2022 Tour with Helmet and Quicksand, Unleash New Song “We Strive for Excellence”: Stream

The stacked North American tour package launches on September 13th

Clutch have announced a Fall 2022 North American tour with support from Helmet and Quicksand . In addition, they’ve shared the new song “We Strive for Excellence,” with the promise of a new album on the way.

The new song had been played live on Clutch’s recent tours and finally sees a proper studio release. Snappy riffs connect frontman Neil Fallon’s verses, which are delivered through his imitable drawl. The lyrics are steeped in nostalgia and call back to Fallon’s days of youth.

“‘We Strive for Excellence’ looks back fondly on childhood summers filled with grand plans gone awry, inexplicable bruises, untreated injuries, and of course, the timeless wisdom of Evel Knievel,” Fallon remarked in a press release.

The track certainly stokes the hype for the aforementioned North American tour. It features an utterly stacked bill including Helmet, Quicksand, and JD Pinkus.

The outing kicks off September 13th in Toronto and will remain stateside thereafter, running through an October 16th show in Chicago. Tickets go on sale Friday, June 17th), with a Live Nation pre-sale occurring one day earlier on June 16th (using code DAZZLE ). Tickets can be purchase via Ticketmaster .

Clutch have a new album coming soon and as fans await those precious details, the band is keeping everyone satiated with the new song "We Strive for Excellence" and the announcement of a headlining tour with support from Helmet , Quicksand and JD Pinkus.

"'We Strive for Excellence' looks back fondly on childhood summers filled with grand plans gone awry, inexplicable bruises, untreated injuries, and of course, the timeless wisdom of Evel Knievel," singer Neil Fallon says of Clutch's second new single this year, which follows the release of "Red Alert (Boss Metal Zone)."

Musically, there's no surprises here and that's just fine because Clutch again deliver on what they've always done best — a steady, bobbing groove with plenty of push and pull, bluesy guitar licks, driving bass lines, forceful and anthemic drumming with Fallon's knack for storytelling and bravado taking the spotlight.

On Sept. 13, Clutch's 26-date tour will kick off in Toronto, Ontario, which is the lone Canadian stop on the run, which comes to an end on Oct. 16 in Chicago, Illinois.

Bluesy groove rockers Clutch have premiered the studio version of their new song “ We Strive For Excellence ” online. It’s the latest single to emerge ahead of the band’s forthcoming new album, which they plan to release this year.

Speaking of this latest offering from it, the band’s vocalist Neil Fallon stated:

Quicksand Unveil New Song “Giving the Past Away” Ahead of Tour with Clutch and Helmet: Stream

Quicksand have unveiled the brand new song “Giving the Past Away” ahead of their North American tour with Clutch and Helmet. The track was recorded during the sessions for Quicksand’s 2021 album, Distant Populations , but the band ultimately decided to save the song for its own stand-alone release.

The tour with Clutch and Helmet kicks off September 13th in Toronto and runs through an October 16th show in Chicago, with tickets currently available via Ticketmaster .

While “Giving the Past Away” didn’t make it onto Quicksand’s most recent album, the New York City post-hardcore band hails it as one of their strongest songs to date.

“The working title for this song was ‘Greatest Quicksand Song Ever,’ so you can imagine it was a very tough call leaving this song off Distant Populations ,” the band stated in a press release. “The only reason we could agree on to leave it off was that we wanted to have some really strong material in reserve for later in the year. Ultimately the title came from the most prominent line in the song which is an embrace of the present which is very in line with our thinking with Distant Populations , we’re super proud of this one and are very psyched to share it with the world.”

Clutch Release New Single, Plot Fall Tour With Quicksand and Helmet

The trek kicks off on September 13

Clutch have released their new single “We Strive For Excellence.” The track is available digitally from all DSPs  HERE . The band has plans to release an all-new studio album soon. Fans can now RSVP HERE to be the first to get notified of the official details and early access to all of the albums exclusive variants and bundles.

“‘We Strive for Excellence’ looks back fondly on childhood summers filled with grand plans gone awry, inexplicable bruises, untreated injuries, and of course, the timeless wisdom of Evel Knievel,” frontman Neil Fallon said of the new song.

Clutch have also announced a new set of US headline dates this fall. Joining them on the 26 date run will be Helmet and Quicksand who will be rotating the main support slot nightly.
