Starting at the Peninsula Hotel and Spa in Agia Pelagia, we give you a theoretical introduction and a small driving practise, before we take the adventure in our hands and the quads on the road.

Lonely tracks away from main traffic and in the midst of the most beautiful nature take you to a beautiful cliff path along the sea and later into the heights of Achlada.

Here we enjoy a breathtaking view over the surrounding area, before we continue to the long time ago and abruptly abandoned ghost village of Achlada. Find out more about the background of the village, the ancient and traditional Cretan way of life and share a special personal moment with the three last and only inhabitants of this village.  Enjoy a drive and a walk through this village which is not accessible by any other means.

We continue, beginning in the heights of Achlada, passing in between the mountains in breathtaking natural surroundings to Fodele, a traditional Cretan village, which is also called the village of the oranges and is the birthplace of the famous painter ‘El Greco’. Here you can explore Crete’s culture and marvel at its local handicrafts. Time for some shopping or a visit of the museum or its orthodox churches is of course considered.

For those of you who like it relaxed there is the possibility to enjoy a freshly squeezed orange juice from the local oranges in the calm.

A tour in the early evening hours takes you through beautiful nature, breathtaking view-points and lets you enjoy the fresh evening breeze. 

This tour takes you to the heights of Rogdia. In Rogdia you have the possibility to visit the 16th century tower of Modino. 

From there on you continue to Achlada to visit the mysterious ghost village. After a short guided tour in this village you carry on to a traditional cafe where we offer you a free tasting of home made local jam, honey and olive oil whilst you enjoy a breathtaking view and  the sun setting into the sea between the mountains. 

By 21:00 we have returned to our premises, Please note that according to the season arrival and departure times may vary.

Driving a quad cycle requires a B category driving licence, and minors must be accompanied by an adult (a parent).

One quad cycle can carry up to two people, who can switch at some point.

Please dress in accordance with the weather. We hope getting dirty is acceptable to you, because the rides can be muddy or dusty, depending on the weather.

A comfortable car will pick you up from your accommodation in Antalya. Then, the members of our team will take you to the starting point of the tour which is approximately 15 minutes away from Antalya city centre in the countryside of Antalya. Are you worried that you are new to riding a quad, and thus you are not fit for this quad biking adventure? Cabot House students expressed frustration at this year’s upperclassmen housing lottery after extra beds were added to suites due to limited capacity.

Thirty suites were modified to accommodate an extra bed, 20 of them being four-person suites converted for five residents, according to a document sent to students. A total of 12 four-person rooms remain, eight of which are “N+1” housing — suites with a bedroom for each person and a shared common room.

Several Cabot suites will be turned into administrative offices over the summer so that administrators are “accessible to all students,” according to an April 2 email to residents from Cabot House administrator Palmer A. Berry obtained by The Crimson.

“Unfortunately, even with Cabot’s swing housing (I can’t speak for other Houses), we still don’t have enough bed spaces for all of the students with a fall room reservation,” Berry’s email said.

Berry’s email also stated that Cabot will have to “return” some “borrowed” swing housing in the Cronkhite Center to its neighboring Quad Houses, Currier and Pforzheimer.

While the three Quad Houses are about a 15 minute walk from the nine River Houses, they have traditionally boasted larger rooms and more N+1 housing.

“It kind of loses the magic of being in the quad,” Khanh Le ’25 said. “A very well advertised perk of being in the quad is having N+1”.

“Now we feel like we live in Kirkland or Eliot or something,” Le added.

Pema Choedon ’25 said she was initially in “disbelief” when she realized she might not get N+1 housing as a senior.

“I was just really sad,” added Choedon, a Crimson Design editor. “Cabot, we’re known for really nice suites, but we got to the point of looking at hallway singles.”

“I was just really shocked that we had to look at singles instead of suites,” she added.

While Choedon and her roommates had N+1 housing this past year as juniors, they will have an “N” suite with three bedrooms and a common room for four people as seniors.

“Next year, one of us will be sleeping in the common room — since we are not going to be sharing the double — so we are not going to have a common room anymore,” she said. “I think it’s really going to affect our social lives.”

Nina S. Janmyr ’26 — a rising junior in Cabot — said she has heard a lot of students complaining in a Cabot-wide GroupMe chat about the decline in N+1 rooms this year.

“I think what you expect in the upperclassmen houses is that it gets better each year,” she said. “The room that we’re getting now is the same that we got our sophomore year.”

Students speculated that the cause of the limited capacity is due to the inflated size of the rising senior class. Some attributed it to renovations at River Houses increasing the number of rising sophomores in the Quad.

According to the Cabot housing lottery spreadsheet, 119 beds — 24 singles in overflow housing and 19 five-person rooms, all of which were originally intended to be four-person rooms — remain for the rising sophomores.

Some students expressed concerns about housing for Cabot’s incoming sophomore class, who will be forced to choose between singles and five-person suites, rather than the historically more common four-person suites.

“Now, the incoming sophomores will more likely be randomized together so that they will probably have random roommates in a group of five,” Le said.

Many students said they were frustrated by the lack of information provided in advance of the lottery, the results of which took away a “perk” of living in the quad.

“This is all being taken away relatively shortly without clear communication,” Le said of N+1 housing.

Thomas S. Smyers ’25 said student frustration stems from a perception that administrators “either don’t know what’s going on, or aren’t really able to do anything about it.”

“It seems like for students — especially for seniors — who are frustrated with their living arrangements, that there’s no recourse and there’s no plan for anything that we could do,” Smyers added.

A College spokesperson wrote in a statement that the housing lottery process can be “stressful” for students, “particularly in this moment given our expanded population of undergraduate students and the use of multiple swing buildings after the COVID years and during House Renewal work.”

“Many departments coordinate together to support the residential communities, including the College Housing Office, the Dean of Students Office and the House staff, and we deeply appreciate the patience of our students as we navigate these factors together,” the spokesperson wrote.

Featuring the WCU Symphony Orchestra and the Latin Jazz and Steel Drum Ensembles, the Concert is also a Neuro-Inclusive Campus Event that is FREE and Open to the Public

West Chester University’s Symphony Orchestra (WCUSO) and the Latin Jazz and Steel Drum ensembles from West Chester University’s Wells School of Music will perform FREE for the public at the seventh annual Concert on the Quad on Thursday, April 25, from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. The concert takes place on West Chester University’s Academic Quad, located just behind the Philips Memorial Building at 700 S. High Street, West Chester. Information at www.wcupa.edu/quadconcert .       

More than 80 students from the Wells School of Music will perform at this year’s concert, which will feature the WCU Symphony Orchestra at 5:30 p.m., preceded by the WCU Latin Jazz and Steel Drum Ensembles from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. The Symphony Orchestra’s program – titled Music from Across the Pond -   will play selections from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, a James Bond Orchestra medley, and George Gershwin’s American in Paris.

Director of the WCUSO Paul Bryan says, “The Concert on the Quad is one of our favorite events of the year. It’s the perfect time to enjoy beautiful music amidst the springtime flora on our campus quad. We invite all students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding community to join us.”

This concert is also a Neuro-Inclusive Campus Event (NICE) and invites all audiences. The night of memorable music will be partnered with accommodations that include trained volunteers, ASL interpretation, giveaway squishy toys/stress balls, a quiet area, therapy dogs, and a visit from WCU mascot Rammy! The Sprouts Famers Market Collegiate Quad is coming to Oklahoma City in 2025.

Five of the eight national semifinalists from this year's national tournament are already in the field for next season, including the number one-ranked University of Oklahoma Sooners.

This is the second year of the event, which will also include LSU, California, Utah, Arkansas, NC State, Arizona, Clemson, Michigan, Ohio State, UCLA and Kentucky.

The competition is set for Jan. 10-11, 2025.

OKC to host 2025 Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad, featuring OU women's gymnastics

NORMAN — The top NCAA women's gymnastics teams are headed to Oklahoma City in 2025.

Five of the eight semifinalists competing in this weekend’s NCAA women’s gymnastics championships — No. 1 OU , No. 2 LSU, No. 3 California, No. 5 Utah and No. 10 Arkansas — will participate in the second annual Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad Jan. 10-11, 2025, at the Paycom Center. Reigning ACC champion NC State, Big 12 newcomer Arizona, ACC runner-up Clemson, Michigan, Ohio State and UCLA from the Big Ten and Kentucky from the SEC round out the field.

The lineup for the trio of quad events will be based on the final rankings from nationals. The first year of the quad was held outside Salt Lake City in January and saw 634,000 viewers tune in to the second session between Oklahoma, LSU, UCLA and Utah on ABC.

It marked the most-viewed live regular-season collegiate gymnastics meet in ESPN history. The Sooners' audience peaked at nearly 800,000.

The meets will be presented on ESPN platforms, with the top four teams jumping into the ABC slot at 3 p.m. CT Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025. Tickets will be sold on a session-by-session basis and are set to go on sale at a later date. Fans can secure pre-sale access by signing up for the event mailing list at www.sproutscollegiatequad.com/tickets.

OU is looking to win its third consecutive NCAA title this weekend. The Sooners will compete beginning at 8 p.m. Thursday in Fort Worth on ESPN2.
