Taylormade Shaft Adapter Compatibility Chart

When it comes to customizing a golf club, one important component to consider is the shaft adapter. A shaft adapter is used to attach the shaft to the clubhead, and different adapters can have varying levels of compatibility. In this article, we will be discussing the TaylorMade shaft adapter compatibility chart in golf.

What is a TaylorMade Shaft Adapter?

The TaylorMade Shaft Adapter is a component that connects the shaft to the clubhead in TaylorMade golf clubs. It allows golfers to customize their club by changing the shaft or adjusting the loft and lie angle. The adapter also helps to maintain the overall balance and weight of the club, ensuring consistency in swing and performance.

Understanding the TaylorMade Shaft Adapter Compatibility Chart

The TaylorMade shaft adapter compatibility chart lists the different models of TaylorMade clubs and the corresponding adapters that can be used with them. The chart can be helpful when selecting a new shaft or adapter to ensure compatibility with your existing club.

Compatible Adapters for TaylorMade Clubs

The following are some examples of compatible adapters for TaylorMade clubs:

  • M1 and M2 Drivers : The M1 and M2 drivers are compatible with the TM 1.0, TM 2.0, and TM 3.0 shaft adapters.
  • M3 and M4 Drivers : The M3 and M4 drivers are compatible with the TM 4.0, TM 5.0, and TM 6.0 shaft adapters.
  • M5 and M6 Drivers : The M5 and M6 drivers are compatible with the TM 7.0, TM 8.0, and TM 9.0 shaft adapters.
  • Fairway Woods : Fairway woods in the M1, M2, M3, M4, M5, and M6 models are compatible with the TM 1.0, TM 2.0, and TM 3.0 shaft adapters.
  • Hybrid Clubs : Hybrid clubs in the M1, M2, M3, M4, M5, and M6 models are compatible with the TM 2.0, TM 3.0, and TM 4.0 shaft adapters.

Choosing the Right Adapter for Your TaylorMade Club

When selecting a new adapter for your TaylorMade club, it is important to consider the model of the club and the intended use. For example, if you want to increase the loft of your driver, you may need to choose an adapter that allows for a higher degree of adjustability. It is also important to ensure that the chosen adapter is compatible with the shaft you plan to use.

Other Considerations When Customizing Your Club

While the TaylorMade shaft adapter is an important component in customizing your club, there are other factors to consider as well. For example, the type of shaft you choose can have a significant impact on the club’s performance.

There are a variety of shaft materials available, including graphite and steel, and each has its own unique characteristics. Graphite shafts tend to be lighter and offer more flexibility, while steel shafts are heavier and offer greater stability and control.

Additionally, the length and flex of the shaft can also impact the club’s performance. The length of the shaft can affect the club’s swing weight and balance, while the flex can impact the club’s trajectory and feel.

When customizing your club, it is important to consider all of these factors and consult with a professional club fitter to ensure that your club is customized to your specific swing characteristics and needs.

Maintenance and Care of Your Customized Club

Once you have customized your TaylorMade club with the appropriate adapter and shaft, it is important to maintain and care for it properly. Regular cleaning and inspection can help to prolong the life of the club and ensure optimal performance on the course.

Be sure to clean the clubhead and shaft after each use, removing any dirt or debris that may have accumulated. Inspect the club for any signs of damage or wear, such as cracks or dents in the clubhead or shaft.

Additionally, storing your club properly can help to prevent damage and maintain its performance. Store your club in a dry, cool place, away from extreme temperatures or humidity.

TaylorMade Shaft Adapters Compatible with M1 Driver

Taylormade shaft adapters compatible with m2 driver, taylormade shaft adapters compatible with sim driver, taylormade shaft adapters compatible with p7mc irons.

The TaylorMade shaft adapter compatibility chart is an essential resource for golfers who wish to customize their clubs. By understanding the compatibility chart and choosing the right adapter for your TaylorMade club, you can achieve optimal performance on the golf course.

got ahold of a spectacular condition sldr 460 driver head. is a current generation type taylormade adapter for the sim, stealth and m series heads going to fit or do i need to find something different for this 8 year old club ?

the reason i have to ask is i see so many totally conflicting statements that yes the m series adapter is correct, and yes, the r series adapter is correct.

it can't be both.

That's just a difference in labeling - not in the actual design of the adapter or basic functionality.   Well, also the fact that the R9 was an +/- 1* adjustment while the r11s/RBZ increased that

thank you, this is exactly the explanation i needed and couldn't find anywhere.

The date is right but not all R-series was the first gen adapter design.  R1 was actually the first to use the second gen adapter.

- R9, R11, R11s, RBZ - used the first gen adapter

- R1, R15, SLDR, JetSpeed, and RBZ stage 2 - used the second gen adapter (prior to M series release)

As you see above it can - depending on which R series one is referring to.

Thanks

I have a Taylormade R9 with original Fujikura regular shaft. I would like to try a senior shaft, but don't want to mess with the existing shaft, because I may go back to it.

Most replacement shafts have 0.335" tips. There are cheap Chinese adapters on Amazon and eBay, but some reviews are not good!

I found some surplus original shafts with 0.35" tips. But to use those, I would need an original 0.35" adapter. Don't seem to be available.

Any suggestions welcomed 🙂

The description say " TaylorMade R11s Factory Sleeve". But they look a lot like the aftermarket sleeves sold on Amazon  https://www.amazon.com/Degree-Adapter-Sleeve-TaylorMade-Driver/dp/B00MP2R8RO/ref=sr_1_3?crid=2HVSUI3P15JLT&keywords=taylormade+shaft+adapter+r11&qid=1687359384&sprefix=taylormade+shaft+adapter+r11%2Caps%2C258&sr=8-3

Question is - Are they well made and reliable?

They look the same because the knock offs are made to look like the real thing.

If BillyBob's says they are OEM, then they are OEM - not aftermarket made by some random Chinese company.  They have their own brand of aftermarket adapters (CMX brand) they use for aftermarket options (which are actually very good quality too).

Although to be perfectly honest, when it comes to the TM adapters,  they are not all that complicated.  Most (very large majority) of the knock offs end up working perfectly fine.

Being in Canada, I was hoping to find the shaft and adapter locally because shipping costs from USA can be a killer. But nothing on offer seems to match my original adapter.

The various adapters on offer don't look like the original on my R9 460. They appear to have loft adjustment while the original only has lie adjustment (closed/open/upright/neutral). Don't seem to be what I need and make me wonder if they may have different insert depths and perhaps also need different length and/or thread bolts?

That's just a difference in labeling - not in the actual design of the adapter or basic functionality.

Well, also the fact that the R9 was an +/- 1* adjustment while the r11s/RBZ increased that to become +/- 1.5* adapter.  So you'll actually get a little more adjustment.

Which is also why no one has offered the original r9 or r11 adapters for a long time.  No one wanted just the smaller 2* adjustment adapters once the 3* adapter became available.

The screw stays with the head, not the adapter so doesn't matter - but it didn't change in that time period either.

Whether the adapter fits into the head has nothing to do with the insertion depth of the shaft into the adapter.

All are 100% interchangeable and fully compatible with each other.   I personally owned the r9 super-tri, r11s, and rbz tour heads and can guarantee that.

The reason for the label change was because the R9 adapter was marketed as Face angle adjustment ("L" or left, "R" for right,  "N" for neutral) as well as a lie adjustment (upright or std).   But the problem was that when the r11 (and r11s) was released, they added the sole plate to provide additional adjustment to the face angle - so having two different face angle settings was too confusing so they changed the labeling to indicate loft instead of face angle.

The reality is that in both cases, the face angle is changing and the effective loft is changing.  Those two changes are fixed - no adapter design can change that.   The only difference is in where the emphasis is directed in the marketing.

The Hireko adapter is an aftermarket - most likely made by CMX.  Who also supply aftermarket options to golfworks and Billy Bob's.

40 minutes ago, freeagent said: Being in Canada, I was hoping to find the shaft and adapter locally because shipping costs from USA can be a killer.

Several options on ebay.ca

Thanks for the input - Very useful!  Seeing existing bolts will likely fit, I will probably go with the Hireko adapter because they also have a couple of shafts I am interested in buying. Getting older so I want to experiment with A-Flex shafts for driver & fairway woods and see if they help at all.

  1. Taylormade Tour Adapter Adjustment Chart?

So for a +/- 1.5* adapter, the lie angle at std loft is now 58.5* and 59* for a +/- 1* adapter. If the tour spec sticker is the lie angle at std loft, then the "middle" lie angle is 61* for that head, std loft setting will have a lie angle of 60* and adjusting one notch will bring it to 60-1/3.
