A lot of sign in issues and glitches should have been resolved before the transitions/merger CUSTOMER SERVICE IS PATHETIC I WILL BE CHANGING BANKS SOON IF THIS DOES IMPROVE I am a member of a credit union which provides much better service and customer service. I could not sign in to my BB&T account the date the switch over occurred. I waited on the automated service for 1:45 minutes and was hung up on on the date the switch over occurred by your customer service representative. She did not view me as valuable customer She was angry and needs coaching to understand her role as a bridge to resolve issues customers experience. If she does not like performing her job duties she should seek employment performing a different job function. When calling the customer service number after hours I have had difficulty getting to speak with anyone this was as recent as Friday, September 17, 2021. This seems to occur when there are issues with online banking When ATT purchased DirecTV this is the exact way customers were treated and now it is struggling to survive. I was a customer until ATT took control. I found a better provider. I am contemplating taking the same action here. I have a business account, home mortgage, personal account with (BB&T) now Truist, if I continue to have these issues I am leaving. Thanks for the opportunity to share my experiences Michael Warren

Truist truly was not ready, this app is such a disappointment. In addition to being forced to switch from my Suntrust app this app rarely works, the layout, design and ease of use are terrible. Each time I access it there is a message in app that says the service your requesting is not available. I have used my Suntrust debit card for years to receive and send funds via Cash App. After being forced to switch to Truist, I was unable to receive or send money using Cash App. The error said your card is not allowing deposits please add a new card. I had to call Suntrust the rep initially told me to contact Cash App, I told her the problem started as soon as I was forced to switch to Truist. After going back and forth with her she said she refreshed my card which corrected the error with cash app. I tried to send money from cash app today I’m getting an error saying your bank declined this payment please update your card. Not only that, but I attempted to use my debit card in the grocery store yesterday and it was declined. I have used the same card for years. We were assured there would be no interruptions in services, but for me that clearly has not been the case. Truist you need to go back to the drawing board.

Beware, they will steal money out of your account, then deny it!

Out of all the banks I’ve had in my entire life this bank has been by far without a doubt the worst bank I’ve ever had my any experience with! They are extremely dishonest they are thieves, and they do not care about their customers not to mention every single time you go to any bank location in the state you are guaranteed to wait at least 35 minutes. They are extremely slow, extremely rude and most of all they steal money out of your banking account and then try to make you feel like you’re the one that’s at fault, I will never in 1 million years ever consider banking with this piece of crap company ever again you would be an absolute fool to do business with these thieves $100 was taken out of my account without my knowledge and I had not used my debit card within over two weeks and most definitely didn’t spend anywhere near $100 more like less than 20 they are not willing to help you they act like they cannot find the problem when in real allergy it’s sitting right in front of them on their computer screen. They are dishonest. and do not care in the least bit of their customers they’re more worried about stealing from their customers oh, and also if you cash your paycheck, they like to put a week hold on your cash paycheck that you deposit into your account which should be illegal as people live paycheck to paycheck and there is absolutely no rate for them to randomly hold your paycheck for over a week

What is online banking.

Online banking lets you complete everyday banking tasks from a desktop, tablet or mobile device. You can skip the trip to your bank branch or the ATM. What is the benefit of mobile banking?

Mobile banking allows you to bank on the go using your smart phone or tablet. With mobile banking you can complete simple everyday tasks anywhere and at any time from the palm of your hand. You can access and manage your account profile, review your transactions, send money or redeem rewards all from one location. You can even access your account outside of the United States.

What is the difference between online and mobile banking?

The major difference between online and mobile banking is how you access your account. With online banking, you log in to your account via a desktop, tablet or mobile device using your username and password. With mobile banking, once you download the app from your app store onto your mobile device or tablet, you can access your account through the app. Another difference between the two is the mobile app allows you to deposit checks using your mobile device or tablet.

How do I set up online banking and mobile banking?

For personal accounts : Gather your U.S. Bank card or account number and PIN along with your Social Security number to complete a one-time enrollment process . If you don’t have a PIN or need a new one, please contact 24-Hour Banking at 800-USBANKS (872-2657) .

For business accounts : You’ll need an ATM or debit card. You can apply for these at a branch. Use your PIN to log in to mobile or online banking. Next, create a unique username and password to log in securely in the future. Then, just follow the instructions on the enrollment page.

How current is my account information?

Most account information is updated in real time as transactions are processed throughout the day. Mobile and online banking offers you the most current balance and transaction information available.

Can I transfer money to and from other banks?

Yes. Your U.S. Bank checking, savings, money market and U.S. Bancorp Investments brokerage accounts are eligible to send and receive external transfers both through online banking and the mobile app.

What if I forget my username or password, or want to change them?

You can change or reset your username or password in the mobile app or online banking.

What kinds of account alerts can I set up?

You can select from a wide variety of alerts to stay informed of account activity that is important to you. Some common ones by account type include:

For checking and savings accounts:

  • Negative balances
  • Balances that fall below a dollar amount you choose
  • Deposits or withdrawals that exceed a specified dollar amount
  • Overdrafts and overdraft protection transfers (checking only)
  • Availability of new statements and other online documents

For credit cards:

  • Balances and transactions that exceed a dollar amount you choose
  • Available credit that falls below a specified dollar amount
  • Payments and credits posted to your account
  • Payments due or overdue
  • AutoPay payments scheduled or processed
  • Transactions with higher fraud risk, such as ATM cash withdrawals, international transactions, gas station purchases, and purchases made without a card present

What can I do to protect myself against fraud?

The most important thing you can do is keep your login credentials confidential. Logging out of your account when you are finished using digital services is also important. It is also important to never send money to those you do not know and trust. U.S. Bank offers a digital security guarantee that covers you from being liable for unauthorized transactions initiated through the mobile app or online banking. If you’re like most TD Bank customers, you use a combination of cash, checks, online banking, and your debit card to pay bills and make everyday purchases. Your available balance tells you how much money is currently available for you to spend. Different types of transactions affect your available balance in different ways. It’s important to remember that your available balance may not be the same as the balance on your statement, due to pending transactions.

Let’s examine how Available Balance works by looking at a typical customer’s day so you can better understand how to manage your own checking account and avoid overdrafts.

Sam begins the day by using online banking to check his account. He sees that a $500 direct deposit has been made, and his available balance shows as $2000. Sam’s available balance doesn’t reflect any checks he’s written or any scheduled bill payments that have not yet cleared.

Sam remembers he wrote a personal check for $100 to his babysitter and has a $50 check to his niece. Sam should consider this money as unavailable for any future purchases and keep enough money in his account for those payments to process to avoid overdrafts.

While running errands at lunch, Sam buys a cup of coffee using his debit card. His available balance is reduced by $5 right away, and the purchase appears in his Pending Transactions. He also purchases the new bestseller and pays with his debit card, which reduces his available balance by $20 immediately, and will appear in his Pending Transactions. Since this money has already been spent, it will no longer be considered available.

You can check your pending transactions online, on your mobile phone, at a TD Bank store, or by calling TD Customer Service.

On the way home from work, Sam stops by TD Bank to make a deposit: a $200 check, $50 cash, and a $300 check. Sam receives immediate availability for cash deposits, and a $100 courtesy for the total value of all checks he deposited.

New accounts may have to wait longer for their funds to be available. You can find out more by reviewing TD Bank’s Personal Deposit Account Agreement.

Now, let’s look at how Sam’s banking transactions were processed overnight to help you understand what you may see in your own account. All transactions are processed at the end of the business day and are sorted in the following manner.

First, we process transactions based on the date and time that the transaction occurred. Note that pending transactions will impact the available balance, but won’t incur any potential overdraft fees until after the items clear. If Sam had any Wire, Overdraft, or Return Item fees, they would be sorted here, based on the time they were processed by TD Bank. Checks drawn on Sam’s account will all process as if they occurred at 11 pm. When there are multiple checks, they will be processed by check number, from lowest to highest. Lastly, any interest earned or other fees generated by the end of the day, such as non-TD ATM fees, Monthly Maintenance fees, or Paper Statement fees will then be applied.

When the day is done, Sam’s end-of-day available balance is $1975.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR OVERDRAFT OPTIONS At TD Bank, we understand that sometimes the funds available in your account are not quite enough to cover a transaction. We think you should be able to decide how you’d like your account to work if this happens. That’s why we give you different options to choose from. All of our customers automatically receive our Standard Overdraft Service. With this service, if you don’t have enough available funds in your account, your debit card will be declined at the time of the swipe. All other overdrawn transactions may be considered for payment at our discretion. Your available balance can be overdrawn by up to $5 without incurring any fees. If we do pay or return an overdraft item for you, a $35 overdraft fee applies for each item, up to five fees per day. The best way to avoid overdrafts is to actively keep track of your account and know what your available balance is at all times. Here are some additional ways that TD Bank can help. Sign up for Balance Alerts, and at the start of the business day, you’ll receive an e-mail notifying you if you’ve reached the available balance limit that you set. Our Mobile App and Online Banking Services make it easy to keep track of your accounts. Pick up a Checkbook Register and write down transactions as you go. And you can always visit one of our Convenient Locations or call TD Customer Service by phone 24 hours a day. If you’d like to put a plan in place to further manage your account in the event of overdrafts, we offer the following options. With TD Debit Card Advance, you’ll receive the same coverage as our Standard Overdraft Service, plus your ATM and one-time debit card transactions may also be covered when you don’t have enough available funds in your account. There’s no cost to enroll for this service. A $35 overdraft fee will apply for each overdrawn ATM and one-time debit card transaction we pay. When you choose our Savings Overdraft Protection option, we’ll link your checking account to your savings or money market account and automatically transfer funds from them to cover you up to the available balance in those accounts. There is no cost to enroll. For each automatic transfer, a $10 daily transfer fee will apply. If your overdraft protection account does not cover your overdrawn balance, plus the transfer fee, no transfer will occur and you may be charged a $35 overdraft fee for each item we pay or return. It’s important to note that all overdrafts are paid out at the discretion of TD Bank, and payment is not guaranteed. Planning ahead for occasional overdrafts makes smart banking sense, but the best advice is to manage your account and avoid overdrafts before they happen.

How do I transfer money online?

Sign in to your chase.com account and choose “Transfer money” under “Pay & transfer” on the navigation menu. Choose “Schedule transfer” and then choose the account that you want to make the transfer “From.” Then choose the account you're transferring the money “To.” You can do a one-time transfer or set up customized repeating transfers. Choose a transfer date and choose “Next.” Review the transfer details and choose “Transfer Money” if the information is correct. Then you’ll see a confirmation page with a transaction number for your reference. Please review to verify the information is correct before choosing “Submit Transfer.”

How do I access my account information and activity?

Sign in to your chase.com account and choose the account that you would like to see. The Account Activity page displays your payment and deposit information with your present and available balances at the top of the page. For check details, choose the check icon next to the transaction. You can see both the front and back of your checks. To print a copy of the check, choose the “Print Check Details” icon in the top right corner of the page. To verify that you’ve received a deposit, go to the Account Activity page and choose the check icon next to the transaction to see the deposit details. To print a copy, choose the “Print Deposit Details” icon in the top right corner of the page.

How do I make a payment?

Sign in to Chase Online℠ and choose “Pay & transfer” then “Pay Bills” in the navigation menu. Choose your payee, enter the amount, “Pay from” account and the “Send on” or “Deliver by” date, then choose “Pay This Bill.” Review your payment information and if everything is correct, choose “Pay It.” Then you’ll see your payment confirmation. If you're paying a private individual rather than a business, consider using Zelle ® .

What security features are in place to protect my account information online?

Chase Online Banking uses encryption methods to protect your personal information like user IDs, passwords and account information over the Internet.
