Nashville TV Show: The Bus Tour For Country Music Fans

Country music lover?

I’m not. Or rather, I wasn’t.

Until Nashville .

Have you seen the popular TV show Nashville ? A friend introduced me to Nashville a few seasons in and I have to admit, I was dubious. I had no interest in country music, except for Walk The Line by Johnny Cash, and my pop-country love affair with Taylor Swift (she’s a genius!).

nashville tv show bus tour

From the very first episode I was hooked. It was everything I loved in a good TV series – hot guys, rich people, great storytelling, plenty of drama and of course, music. It took only 4 episodes of over-the-shoulder watching before Josh decided he didn’t want me to ever watch it without him. Yes, he was hooked too.

Thanks to the TV series I knew I wanted to visit Nashville, Tennessee. Couple that with a glowing report from our friends at Flashpacker Family , and I was convinced. Then Viator asked if we’d experience the Insider Tour of ABC’s ‘Nashville’ and we were set. Lights, camera, action!

nashville tv show bus tour

I admit proudly I have all the Nashville soundtracks on my phone and play them continuously at every opportunity. In the shower, on our US roadtrip , in my head and as my phone’s ringtone. The morning I was getting ready for this tour it was on loud and proud.

24 hours before the tour kicked off we confirmed our pick-up location. And when the big day arrived, we waited impatiently in the lobby of our resort. We stayed at the Wyndham Nashville and they provided free popcorn in the lobby so we grabbed a few bags to take on our tour.

It was a cold, crisp Sunday morning in January as the mini bus pulled up to collect us. The kids opted for the back seat and we quickly settled in. The tour group size was just right. I had been worried we’d be herded around like sheep, but it was a reasonable 20-seater mini bus. It also made the hotel pickup and drop off a lot faster than the average bus tour.

nashville tv show bus tour

I noticed although there was an unused TV screen, there was no footage from the TV series in the bus and was slightly disappointed. Not that our guide needed it. He was a Nashville enthusiast and barely took time to breath, he was so filled with knowledge and love for the city of Nashville and it’s namesake TV series.

He slipped in that 2 of his fellow tour drivers did not watch the TV series, so we were extremely lucky to be on his bus that day.

The majority of the tour took place on the bus so it was easy for older and younger travellers alike. Both our kids managed to take a nap on the back seat, which was perfect.

We drove past locations like the Grand Ole Opry , famous music studios, honkey tonks, cafes and restaurants. My favourites, though, were the houses the TV series used for their characters, with Rayna James’ home being the most extravagant.

nashville tv show bus tour

On top of the TV series, the guide also pointed out many other fascinating points of interest. My favourite was Taylor Swift’s gorgeous home in Northumberland estate. Apparently she was home (or at least someone was) since her white jeep was parked in the front, as well as a security guard.

nashville tv show bus tour

At one point in the tour we stopped at the Ryman Auditorium , which has a long history steeped in gospel and country music. Entry tickets were included with the bus tour so we could watch the amazing video presentation (highly recommended) and visit the spectacular hall that has held performances from legends like Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton.

nashville tv show bus tour

Our final stop was at the famous Bluebird Café . Although the café was not open, at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon there was already a queue for the 5pm opening. We disembarked to take a few photographs before starting the journey back home.

nashville tv show bus tour

The friendly guide was full of knowledge and fascinating titbits. As a tour company they also offer private car rentals for celebrities and he had insider information on a lot of them, including the best places to spot them around town. Unfortunately we didn’t run into any that day, but he reported that he’s been on plenty of tours where they saw the cast around town.

It was much to my disappointment that we never spotted Avery that day. He’s by far my favourite character. Although our driver revealed that Leila, Gunnar, Avery and Deacon are fairly frequent performers around town.

nashville tv show bus tour

If you are in love with the TV series Nashville then this on-location tour will not disappoint. I can’t wait to watch the new season and pay more attention to the homes and filming locations. Perhaps you aren’t a lover of the show (yet), then you’ll be glad to know it’s still a great tour. The points of interest on the route combined with the knowledgeable guide highlights Nashville’s history and give you a great overview of the Music City.

Now if only they could only add a little country music in the bus I would have scored this tour a “Johnny Cash”, but without any toe-tapping tunes I’m rating it a “Dolly Parton”.

I've never seen Nashvile but I'm sure if I had I'd love this. I'm a big Game of Thrones fan and really hope to do the tour in Northern Ireland one day.

Like you I'm starting from the point of zero knowledge but it sounds like a great tour for Country Music enthusiasts. Not sure I'd be bothered to queue for 2 hrs for any cafe!

I love that show! I'd totally do that tour.

Old Town Trolley Tours Nashville 4.5

Hop On Hop Off Nashville Tours

old town trolley tour driving down broadway street during nashville tour

The very mention of Nashville often conjures up the image of a stage full of ornate boot and cowboy hat clad, banjo picking entertainers performing in front of star-struck concert-goers keeping time to the rhythm and dreaming of one day gracing that stage themselves. While that’s a fairly common scenario, we’re going to show you that Nashville is so much more than that.

Admissions

“Hop aboard one of our trolleys and you’ll experience a delightful combination of transportation and entertainment.”

Welcome to Nashville!

Long before Nashville got its name, it was a promised land for pioneers and idealists of varying genre – A place for talented, hard-working, passionate folks to stake their fortunes not only in music and the arts, but medicine, high tech, academia and even candy!

From the hunter-gatherers making their home along the Cumberland and the lone French fur trader establishing a trading post, to the initial hearty settlers of Fort Nashborough and the first musician to step off a bus onto Broadway with nothing but a guitar and dream—Nashville has been the hook on which the brave and entrepreneurial have hung their hopes and aspirations.

Their success inspires others to hone their chops and journey to Music City in search of their own big hit. As we weave our way through this rich and vibrant city learning about, and paying tribute to its legends and pioneers, you won’t help but feel inspired, too!

Meet the Denver Local Behind Morgan Wallen’s One Night at a Time Tour

Thursday’s concert at Empower Field will be Cort Lawrence’s first hometown stadium show.

Jessica Giles

The Local newsletter is your free, daily guide to life in Colorado. For locals, by locals. Sign up today!

You might think that the breeding ground for music industry giants would be the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville or maybe Joe’s Pub in the Big Apple. But for Cort Lawrence, it was a strip-mall pizzeria in Centennial.

“During high school, I spent a lot of time being a part of a small, little broadcast show that was filmed at Big Bill’s New York Pizza ,” Lawrence says of the Colorado institution where he got his start. The Highlands Ranch native would interview local sports stars, former Miss Colorados, and other Mile High City celebs as part of his high school TV club. One such connection landed him on a tour bus with rock band Third Eye Blind at age 19.

  • 10 Must-See Concerts in Colorado This Summer

Lawrence wasn’t playing bass or singing backup; instead, he was setting up lights, designing visuals, and planning pyrotechnics. Over the course of a decade, he worked his way up the ranks from grunt work to creative direction, ultimately launching his own production company, Raw Cereal , in 2022. Alongside his co-founder, Anders Rahm, Lawrence has spent the last several years bringing to life the visions of big-name artists including Machine Gun Kelly, Megan Thee Stallion, Avril Lavigne, and Lainey Wilson.

Now 31, Lawrence is climbing up to the next rung: working as the show director for Morgan Wallen’s One Night at a Time tour . When the country superstar’s concert rolls into Empower Field at Mile High Stadium on Thursday, it will be Lawrence’s first hometown stadium show. We caught up with the creative ahead of this milestone to get the lowdown on his Denver roots, the inspiration behind the tour’s design, and what it’s really like to work with the biggest name in contemporary country music.

Editor’s note: The following conversation has been edited for length and clarity.

5280: For the uninitiated, can you explain what it means to be a show director for a musician’s tour? Cort Lawrence: I see myself as an architect. That’s a term that was brought up maybe 30 years ago by someone I looked up to. He called himself a “show architect.” I agree with that. He was coming up with the drawings, the renderings, the creative intent, and all these ideas, and then he would take that and disperse it to all these teams and say, “This is what we’re going to build.”

You went straight from high school to a tour bus. What tour did you join? They needed somebody to come out on tour with Third Eye Blind at the time. That was my first tour. I was a lighting tech, but at that point in time, I didn’t know anything about the music industry or how it works. I was purely just a roadie: helping set up the stage, helping set out some lights, touring with them from stop to stop, and learning the ropes. I think that was the best classroom environment I could have ever been in.

So are you a self-taught graphic and show designer? Yeah, no formal education besides YouTube and just learning from myself. That’s the thing about design and creativity; there are no right or wrong answers, which is great, and that’s why it’s such an open environment.

nashville tv show bus tour

Talk to me about the vision behind Morgan Wallen’s One Night at a Time Tour. What can fans expect to see? This design took eight to 10 months of planning. We came up with this giant screen that wraps around the stage. One of the reasons for that, though, is because Morgan wanted to have more audience. It helps the audience imagine the music, and it gives them a place to look, much like a movie.

Then behind that screen, we have a lot of lights and pyrotechnics, and we even have a smaller version of his mamaw’s house. So his mamaw’s house was recreated, and it lowers in for a few songs, and it gives that side of the audience a unique moment. Then on another side of the stage, we have some baseball bleachers that represent Morgan’s pastime: He was a baseball player in high school. And then we have a stadium light that comes down and finishes that scene. So we created all these different scenes to give the audience more of a TV performance and these more intimate moments to provide more connection for Morgan and the audience.

What has it been like to work with Morgan Wallen? We worked with him previously, and we’ve worked with his team a lot. That’s the one thing about the Nashville community—it’s so small, friendly and very family-oriented, which is amazing. We see Morgan as part of our family, and he sees us as part of his family out there. He’s very kind and courteous, and he’s a busy man. But we always appreciate working with him because we get to come up with something unique, and he gets to do his thing and really connect with his audience.

How are you feeling ahead of your very first hometown stadium show? It’s funny, every time I would come home it would be either at the Bluebird Theater or the Ogden Theatre, and then the Fillmore Auditorium, and then Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre, and then Red Rocks, and then Ball Arena. So I’ve worked all these from the ground up. And now, I finally get to say that I came to the biggest venue in Colorado, which is Mile High Stadium. That is huge.

Is there anything about your show design for Morgan Wallen that you think will particularly shine at Mile High Stadium? The audience is pretty close to the field, which is awesome. Some stadiums have the audience set back from where the actual field is, but Mile High has people surrounding all sides. So I think the crowd layout is going to be the biggest benefit. We utilize the light-up wristbands. That’s one of the big pieces to the show because it involves the audience, but Morgan gets to see it as well. He gets to see it moving to the music, creating shapes and color throughout the crowd. The crowd is a huge element.

Do you have a favorite tour you’ve worked on? I toured with the Red Hot Chili Peppers for quite a while. That’s where I met my wife—in London. She was visiting the Chili Peppers at a London show, and our love carried on from there. The Chili Peppers are a family-oriented camp, and those friends and family even attended our wedding. It’s a blast to see how your career grows and brings in new people and new life.

You’ve worked with huge names like Megan Thee Stallion, Machine Gun Kelly, Lainey Wilson, and now Wallen. Have you had a moment yet in your career where you felt like you’ve “made it”? I’m getting there. I think this has been really exciting, but we’re going to keep on pushing, because there are so many things still to create on our side. We’re so lucky to work with all of those big names, and no matter what size they’re at, I think our goal is to continue creating new things and pushing the boundaries. We just haven’t pushed the boundaries far enough yet. But once we have the ability to create something really new and shocking for this world, I think that’s where we’ll make it.

Morgan Wallen’s One Night at a Time tour comes to Empower Field at Mile High on Thursday, June 27, and Friday, June 28. Tickets start at $115 and can be purchased online .

Post Malone to play Nashville's Nissan Stadium as part of concert tour

Post malone will perform at nashville's nissan stadium on oct. 19, 2024 to close out a six-week run of concerts nationwide..

nashville tv show bus tour

There are now roughly "F-1 Trillion" reasons to come to Nashville's Nissan Stadium on Oct. 19, 2024.

Yes, pop's most successful country crossover in many generations, Post Malone, will headline a concert across the Cumberland River from Lower Broadway as the final date of a just-announced, six-week, 21-date stadium, festival and amphitheater tour nationwide.

"I love y'all so very much and I'm so excited to get out and play new music for you," says Malone, who, just last week, announced that his debut country album, "F-1 Trillion," arrives on Aug. 16, 2024.

How to purchase tickets for Post Malone at Nissan Stadium

Tickets will be available through the Citi Entertainment program from a Citi presale beginning June 26 at 10 a.m. local time until June 30 at 11:59 p.m. local time. For complete presale details, visit www.citientertainment.com .

Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.

Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general on sale beginning July 1 at 10 a.m. local time on livenation.com

The tour will also offer a variety of different VIP packages and experiences. Packages vary but include premium tickets, pre-show VIP Lounge, exclusive VIP gift items and more. For more information, visit vipnation.com .

Are there other Post Malone dates in Nashville?

On J uly 16, Malone will perform at a free , exclusive Bud Light-sponsored "A Night in Nashville" concert event that (at a soon-to-be-named venue), via a press statement, will "bring fans 21+ closer to one of most highly anticipated album releases of the year."

Fans are encouraged to direct message Bud Light's Instagram or Facebook "A Night In Nashville" for information on how to enter for a chance to win tickets to the show through Bud Light's Easy Wishes  sweepstakes platform .

"I Had Some Help" and "Pour Me A Drink"

The first two singles off "F-1 Trillion", a pair of duets — the Morgan Wallen collaboration "I Had Some Help" and Blake Shelton collaboration "Pour Me A Drink" — have arrived with considerable excitement.

The former has been on top of Billboard's all-genre Hot 100 charts for the past month and a half while tallying the highest weekly sales and streams of any single released in the past half-decade.

Earlier in June , Malone and Shelton debuted "Pour Me A Drink" at Nissan Stadium and at Shelton's Ole Red honkytonk's "Spotify House" installation.

"Let's hear it for our new adopted son in country music," Shelton said regarding Malone's appearances.

"F-1 Trillion"

Recently, Malone has spent time making appearances at  CMA Fest  alongside Blake Shelton, playing his classic hits at a 700-acre farm at the  Bonnaroo Festival  in Manchester, Tennessee (featuring a guest appearance by Billy Strings) and an intimate songwriting round set (featuring ERNEST, Lainey Wilson, and chart-topping songwriter Ashley Gorley) of acoustic takes on hits and unreleased songs at West Nashville's legendary  Bluebird Cafe .

This follows a consistent series of stops in Nashville over the past year, presumably compiling the work that will reveal itself as "F-1 Trillion."

More information on Post Malone and "F-1 Trillion" is available by visiting postmalone.com .

Why Is Everybody Talking About the Hawk Tuah Girl?

By Tomás Mier

Over the past few days, social media has been set ablaze thanks to a viral on-the-street interview with a young woman with a particular favorite sex move. The initial video, posted by creator duo Tim and Dee TV on June 11, captures a young woman, named Hailey, being asked what “move in bed makes a man go crazy every time?”

Her response: “You gotta give ’em that ‘hawk tuah’ and spit on that thang!” she says with a country twang in the clip. “Hawk tuah” is meant to emulate the sound of spitting, and … you can come to your own conclusion as to what “that thang” is about.

The clip, filmed in Nashville, has been remixed, re-created, and discussed so much online that Hailey is now dubbed the “Hawk Tuah Girl”: She has her own merch line and has even spawned a rumor that she was fired from her job.

“We have kids spitting on each other and everything else … They really look up to her as a role model and imitate the things that she does,” read a fake statement from the fake school’s fake director. “We love Hailey but unfortunately we cannot allow this type of behavior from one of our very own faculty members.”

The post even joked that Hailey was going to host a fundraiser to “retain the attorney” and pay for her legal battle with the school.

Every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term, the 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history.

One of the most viral items on sale is a cap that reads “ Hawk Tuah ’24 ” as if it were a political campaign, with each word representing a candidate for president and vice president. The campaign slogan is, obviously, “Spit on that thang.” The hats go for $40 if signed, or $30 without a signature.

“The Fathead Family is extremely grateful for the response we’ve gotten over the ‘Hawk Tuah’ movement,” wrote the merch brand behind the clothing. “However, with the rapid amounts of messages and calls we are trying to respond as quickly as possible. Please allow up to 24 hours to get back to you. We appreciate your patience!”

Hawk Tuah Girl Has Already Sold at Least $65,000 Worth of Merch

Trump allies urge him not to be a ‘raging asshole’ at debate, 'the bear' season 3 is everything you've been waiting for and (maybe too much) more.

Rolling Stone has reached out to Hailey for comment on this developing story.
