• Tour du Lac de Joux : 24 km avec un dénivelé de 198 m, un parcours pittoresque autour du plus grand lac du Jura Suisse, offrant une expérience de course à pied naturelle et authentique.
• Course relais : 24 km (11.3 km + 12.7 km), pour les équipes de deux, avec un départ et une arrivée au Sentier.
• Demi-Tour du Lac : 12 km, avec un dénivelé total de 18 m, une course moins exigeante mais tout aussi charmante.
• Walking et Nordic Walking : 12 km, pour une approche plus détendue de la compétition.
• Courses enfants : Distances de 1, 2, et 4.3 km, adaptées pour les jeunes athlètes, offrant une introduction parfaite à la course à pied.

Uniquement au Centre Sportif du Sentier dès 11h. La clôture de remise des dossards a lieu à:

 13h20 pour le Walking et Nordic Walking.

 1 5h20 pour les 12km course et relais 24km.

Les vestiaires et les douches se trouvent au Centre Sportif Le Sentier pour toutes les épreuves. Les vestiaires sont non surveillés. Un bus ramènera les sacs des participants prenant le départ depuis Le Pont.

16h25 depuis Le Centre Sportif du Sentier pour le Tour du Lac de 24km (135m de dénivelé total

16h25  depuis Le Centre Sportif du Sentier pour le relais 24km . 1er coureur 11,2km jusqu’à Le Pont puis  pour 12,7km pour le second.

Pour les 24km, deux temps limite de passage sont fixés: 

• Ravitaillement du Pont (km 11,7)  à 17h50 ( Retour possible au Sentier par le train de 18h00 ou le bus AVJ de 18h03).
• Ravitaillement Camping Les Bioux (KM 17) à 19h00. (Retour avec voiture ou bus de l’organisation).

Le transport en train CFF et  les bus de lignes AVJ depuis la gare Le Sentier jusqu’à Le Pont pour tous les porteurs de dossards est compris dans l’inscription.

Départ des bus à la gare du Sentier-Orient à 13h33-14h33-15h33

Départ du bus pour les Bioux (Minitour du lac 4,3km) devant la caserne des pompiers à 13h55

La gare est située à 300m du Centre Sportif. Pas de parking organisé au Pont.

Pour la course relais, le train et bus de ligne peuvent ramener les 1ers relayeurs au Centre Sportif du Sentier.

Ravitaillements

Les ravitaillements sont en nombre tout au long du parcours Km 3 (Les Entonnoirs après Le Rocheray),  KM 7 (Le Lieu), KM11,7 Le Pont (Départ 1/2 Tour du Lac et passage du Relais), KM 14,5 (L’Abbaye), KM 17 (Camping Les Bioux), KM 19,5 (Les Bioux Altitude 1004), KM 22 (Les Crêtets)  et   KM 24 (Arrivée).

Buvette et restauration

Buvette dès 11h30 (sandwiches, hotdogs, pâtisseries) .

Pasta Party dès 17h45 (avec sauce pesto, tomate ou morilles)     15.-  CHF sur place

Remise des prix

Au Centre Sportif à 15h30 pour les courses enfants ( aucun prix ne sera envoyé) à 19h30 pour les adultes (aucun prix ne sera envoyé)

Vallée de Joux

The Vallée de Joux with its lake and long watch-making tradition is a world of its own in rugged and unspoilt countryside nestling between Jura Mountain Ranges.

Description

From Mont Tendre - the highest peak in the Vallée de Joux (1679 metres above sea level) - affords a fantastic view of Lake Geneva and the Savoy Alps all the way to the Bernese Oberland. The whole region with its many beautiful vantage points is a paradise for hikers, horse and mountain bike riders. The Lac de Joux at an altitude of 1000 metres above sea level is the biggest water surface in the Jura Massif. Famous for its winds, it attracts keen windsurfers and sailors as well as other water sports enthusiasts and bathers. In summer there is a ship service. A railway line runs along the lake and through the pine forest and Jura moorscapes from Le Sentier to Le Brassus which for almost 300 years have been strongholds of the watch-making industry.

Lac de Joux

Lac de Joux is the largest lake in the Jura mountains. There are many leisure activities all year round.

Lake Joux is a very popular destination with nature lovers. The lakeshore villages offer a whole range of restaurants, hotels and activities in winter and summer. The largest body of water in the Jura mountain range, Lake Joux is a paradise for open air activities. In the summer, given the altitude (1,004 m), visitors can enjoy the cool mountain air and the water is the ideal temperature for swimming (up to 24 degrees). For sports enthusiasts, the favourable currents make this a favourite spot for wind surfing and there’s also sailing, biking and hiking for families and groups of friends to enjoy together. In winter, when the conditions are right, the lake freezes completely to form the biggest natural skating rink in Switzerland and Europe. Adults and children can then cross the lake on foot or don their skates and glide across. Equipment is available for hire in Le Sentier or Le Pont during the busy period. Check the tourist office website on the day to find out whether the lake is open for enjoyment.

Cycle tour to Lac de Joux

The Lac de Joux valley: elves and fairies are said to have lived here in bygone days. So, it's high time to explore this mys­ti­cal place on a cycle tour. A trip worth making in this beautiful Jura landscape.

Cycling and biking certainly rank among the most popular sports in Switzerland. And rightly so, as these sports are fun for people of all ages and the range of excellent tours on our doorstep is huge. With just a leap in the saddle, the adventure begins.

Lac de Joux: Alpine meadow or road

Even though you can almost always see the lake in front of you, the stretch between L’Abbaye and Le Sentier at the other end of the lake – on a main road with cycle lane – isn't exactly a highlight. Making the ride along the left bank of the lake all the more relaxing. There are plenty of opportunities here to stop directly by the lake and enjoy the views out over its calm surface.

In Le Revers, cyclists have to choose between an Alpine meadow or the more comfortable road. If your bicycle has decent tyres and sus­pen­sion, you can opt for the mountain bike trail. Everyone else is advised to follow the road through the village of Séchey. In our case, we chose the Alpine meadow. Which led to a surprising encounter: a small herd of practically tame chamois were grazing right by the side of the trail. They weren't disturbed in the slightest by the passing hikers and bikers, who enthusiastically pulled out their cameras. In Les Charbonnières – about three kilometres away – the two routes meet up again: by Lac Brenet, the small lake neighbouring Lac de Joux.

Setting off from the foot of the Jura

However, the starting point for this cycle tour is another mystical place: the small village of Romainmôtier at the foot of the Jura mountains. The settlement of no more than 100 houses is dominated by the imposing abbey church, a historical monument unlike any other in Switzerland. According to legend, the original monastery dates back to the 5th century, making it the earliest founding of a monastery on Swiss soil. Even if you're not a big fan of old buildings, this place, tucked away in a narrow valley, casts a spell all of its own. An absolute must on this cycle tour.

Classic Jura landscape

From Romainmôtier, the journey continues through the small villages of Jurien and Vaulion, up to a classic Jura landscape: with Alpine pastures, stone dykes and wispy morning clouds hanging over damp meadows, all of which lend the landscape a certain charm. The Hôtel des trois Coeurs (i.e. 'three hearts') stands at the side of the road in Vaulion. It's true, there are a few metres in altitude to be tackled. But these are all gentle climbs that don't require three hearts' worth of effort. Although we're on a main road, there is barely any traffic on this summer morning, allowing our thoughts to wander and soak up the landscape. Shortly before the village of L’Abbaye, the view opens up to reveal the legendary Lac de Joux, which has no natural outlet. Instead the water seeps down into the karst substratum and only rises from the ground again in Vallorbe, where it forms the source of the Orbe river.

Heritage site of national importance

It's time for a rest in Le Pont. Situated directly on the shore, and looking out over the entire length of the lake, the village is classed as a heritage site of national importance. Its building façades form a neat architectural ensemble along the lake. Now strengthened, the journey back to the starting point can begin. There is yet another pass to be tackled – the Col du Mollendruz. But with an uphill climb of only 200 metres, it doesn't pose a problem. After a few kilometres' descent, we turn right towards La Praz and then back to Romainmôtier. But not without stopping along the way to enjoy the expansive views towards Lake Geneva and the French Alps.

Fancy a shortcut?

The tour can generally also be shortened. If you merely want to take in the delights of Lac de Joux, it's best to start off and finish in Le Pont directly by the lake. That practically rules out any uphill cycling

Guided tour of the oldest monument in the Vallée de Joux

This building, built in 1326, was the first inhabited place in the Valley. Despite its eventful history, the Tour de L'Abbaye still stands proudly today and serves as the bell tower for the present church. Following recent renovations and new archaeological discoveries, it is now open to the public for guided tours from April 1 to October 31.
