SUN, SPICE AND SEA BREEZES
It's no coincidence that many of the best European cruises call in the most beautiful ports in the world. Eat your way through the cobbled streets of Italy, contrast the timeless beauty of Greece's ruins with the modern chic that's come to define its islands or hike through forlorn caverns and up lush waterfalls in captivating Croatia.
DISCOVER LA DOLCE VITA
From the storied streets of Rome to the charming canals of Venice, Italy is a country that needs no introduction. Whether you pose with Michelangelo's David in Florence or indulge in to-die-for Pizza in Naples, it's no wonder why so many cruises to Europe visit la bella Italia.
FROM THE ACROPOLIS TO THE AEGEAN
Greece is remarkable, from the ancient Acropolis of Athens to the blue-roofed houses of Santorini. Whether you trek through the limestone hills in the north or swim through the cobalt waters around the Cyclades, it's easy to see why this is one of the best places to visit in Europe.
"GAMES OF THRONES" Lives On
The hit TV show might be finished, but "Game of Thrones" fans will recognize dozens of locations in the walled city of Dubrovnik , the jewel of Croatia's Adriatic coast. Farther afield, explore the countless waterfalls of Plitvice Lakes National Park or pair European cruises with tastings at underrated wineries.
SCENES THAT INSPIRED 1,000 PAINTINGS
Endless possibilities are what the coasts of France, Spain and Portugal have always been about. Generations of painting greats from Van Gogh to Picasso have found inspiration from the crystalline coasts of the French Riviera, to the craggy mountaintops of the Canary Islands. Of course, the best European cruises also dock in timeless cities like Barcelona, Cherbourg, Lisbon and beyond.
CITY OF LOVE, CÔTE D'AZUR
The only thing better than strolling into Paris as the Eiffel Tower lights up at night? Sitting down for a meal of fresh-caught seafood as the sun sets into the harbor of aptly-named Nice. France has got something for every traveler, which is why so many cruises to Europe dock here.
SAY "SALUD" TO SPAIN
Sitting down for Spanish tapas is one of the most satisfying food experiences in the world, especially when you wash it down with fruity sangria. Plus, the Jurassic topography of the Canary Islands and the storied streets of Barcelona are just a few of the best places to visit in Europe you'll find here.
KING OF DISCOVERY
Portugal is where many of the first expeditions to the New World start, but most people on European cruises bound for Lisbon wonder why anyone would leave. Explore the mysterious Quinta de Regaleira castle in Sintra, pour port wine in Porto or practice your surfing skills in the Algarve.

PRICELESS PANORAMAS, FABULOUS FJORDs
Norway is a country in beautiful balance. Had enough of the orderliness of Oslo? Head west to beautiful Bergen, where finger-shaped fjords jut into and out of thousands of miles of coastline. Or contrast a fresh fish dinner at sea level with the view from towering Trolltunga cliff.
Europe is beautiful in every season, but the peak of comfortable weather (especially in the north) is between May and September.
You should always be prepared for rain and colder weather when you travel to Europe, especially in the North. Dress in light layers for your vacation.

Why Cruise in Europe
Cruising vs Land Vacations
The value of vacation.
Revel in first-class experiences without the first-class price tag. On a European cruise, unpack once and save on transportation and baggage fees as well as dining and entertainment costs. Independent land travel through Europe adds up fast — between accommodations, restaurants, train travel, taxis and more. But with Princess, you can spend more time exploring Europe and less time checking into your next hotel.
Experience Different Seasons of Europe
Sail into the season.
See the many faces of the world with seasonal European cruise sailings from Princess. In the spring, shop France’s colorful outdoor markets for hand-crafted souvenirs. Frolic through Norway’s landscapes when they fully bloom in summer. Or visit Italy in the fall to taste the first wines of the season.
Sail Aboard Our Newest Ships
Your best-in-class travel companion.
Built in Italy, our newest ships first set sail in international waters for their inaugural season. On a European cruise, you can be one of the first to travel aboard these vessels, adding a whole new level of excitement and opportunity to your trip. Plus these are the first ships designed with Princess® MedallionClass®, making them the best European cruises at sea.
See Famous Landmarks
Where history books come alive.
Between the castles, towers and ruins, Europe is teeming with ancient architecture. On a European cruise, sail into Le Havre and choose to visit the beaches of Normandy or ascend the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Walk through the Colosseum in Rome, and stop by Livorno to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Or explore hidden gems — like Belfast’s Giant’s Causeway.
A Vacation for Every Generation
Adventures for all.
In Europe, there are activities for all. With exciting tours through age-old cities, kids can see textbooks come to life and return with their own stories to tell. Parents can relish in romance and relaxation amidst fairytale landscapes, and grandparents can relive stories of memories past with their loved ones. Whether on board or ashore, find activities created with every type of guest in mind on a cruise to Europe.
Enjoy the Convenience of Cruising
Travel reimagined.
See multiple international cities without the hassle of transportation or additional planning. Cruise from one destination to the next with world-class entertainment, fresh food and relaxing accommodations at your fingertips. When you return to the ship, continue your exploration with unique activities and global cuisine, or enjoy the familiar comforts of home with your favorite foods — all on our best European cruise ships.
European Cruise Excursions
From thrilling kayak voyages in Flåm to relaxing beach days in Mykonos, find shore excursions that match every guest’s preference with Princess. Fløien and revel in panoramic views of Norway’s woodlands, fjords and cityscapes.

Few places in the world pack in as much culture per square meter as Europe does… and nobody packs fun into Europe like Carnival does! There’s so much variety across the continent and its islands, and with Carnival you have options for experiencing many of these places by sea. Cruise the Mediterranean and soak in the espresso-fueled, yet somehow unhurried, cobblestone-lined street life from a sidewalk café. Snow-capped peaks go great with postcard-perfect glaciers across Northern Europe destinations… plus you’ll find some of the greenest British Isle views on the same itinerary! Western Europe cruises visit the region from which the explorers of the New World kicked off their voyages. If your head is spinning with all the possibilities… great! That means you have choices — and believe us, any one of them is the right choice!
- See some of nature’s most dramatic landscapes.
- Explore historical buildings, ruins and cathedrals that are older than many countries.
- Check out museums and statues... and always read the plaques.

Best European cruises: 6 ships that stand out across the pond
Prospective cruisers often ask me what the best Europe cruises are, but that question is difficult to answer because Europe is massive. It encompasses some 45 countries and includes such cruise regions as the Mediterranean, the Baltic and Northern Europe, the British Isles and the Canary Islands.
While cruisers are spoiled for choice in this part of the world, it can be difficult to know where to begin when researching voyages.
To help you out, I've narrowed down my favorites for the best cruises to Europe for different types of travelers, including families, couples and solo travelers.
Note: Pricing was accurate at the time of publication. Fares are subject to change without notice, and they do not include additional fees or port taxes.

Best European cruises for families: Disney Dream
Disney Cruise Line is great for kids; if you're planning a cruise in Europe with kids, Disney Dream is a logical choice for best European cruise for families.
Character meet 'n' greets, awe-inspiring nighttime entertainment and fun dining experiences mean your kiddos will never be bored. The ship's stellar kids clubs go above and beyond with a likeness of Andy's room from "Toy Story" and a replica of the Millennium Falcon from "Star Wars" (with visits from R2-D2 and a squad of stormtroopers).
Disney Dream is not the line's newest ship, meaning it's a bit more manageable in terms of both size and price. It's not the oldest, either, so families will find more things to do on board than on the line's smallest vessels.
Ashore, Disney's family-friendly excursions will take you to laze on the beach, explore museums and learn about history.
Disney Dream sails three- to 12-night cruises to Northern and Western Europe, the British Isles and the Mediterranean. Cruise fares start from $308 per person, per night, for a windowless inside cabin. You can visit ports like Belfast and Liverpool on cruises from Southampton; Florence and Rome (Civitavecchia) on Barcelona sailings; and Reykjavik, Copenhagen and Lisbon on open-jaw itineraries.

Best European cruises for couples: Viking Star
If you're a couple seeking an upscale Mediterranean experience that offers real value and a chance to reconnect with your partner, look no further than Viking .
The line's Viking Star sails various Mediterranean itineraries, and the European ports the ship visits offer plenty of opportunities for you to feel the love. Have a phenomenal lunch at a table for two in France, take a pizza-making class together in Italy, get a little giggly at a wine tasting in Greece, or run the casino tables together in Monaco.
Viking includes at least one free shore excursion per port in its fares. That means you can wander Europe's romantic cobblestone streets hand in hand with your sweetie without paying a penny extra.
While fares aren't the cheapest you'll find, you'll get a lot for your money. In addition to the tours, Viking includes Wi-Fi, specialty dining, and beer and wine with lunch and dinner in its prices.
Plus, all cabins on Viking's ships have balconies, which is great if you want some fresh air but feel like keeping to yourself. Complimentary room service is available 24/7, so you can order dinner to your cabin for a relaxing alfresco dining experience for two.
Want even more ways to pamper yourselves together? Check out the phenomenal thermal suite in the ship's spa , which offers sauna and steam rooms, tile loungers and aromatherapy rooms at no extra charge. Or, splurge on a couples massage, which will leave both of you feeling loose and refreshed.
Even better, Viking ships do not allow children on board. It's a great excuse for you and your significant other to rekindle the romance without other passengers' kids running around.
Viking's Mediterranean sailings range from seven to 21 nights. Back-to-back itineraries are rarely the same as Viking Star circles the Med. The ship visits ports such as Barcelona, Spain; Marseille, France; Florence (Livorno), Rome (Civitavecchia), Sicily and Venice, Italy; Monte Carlo, Monaco; Dubrovnik, Croatia; Athens and Santorini, Greece; and Kusadasi, Turkey.
Fares start from $381 per person, per night, for a balcony stateroom.

Best European cruises for seniors: Seabourn Sojourn
If you're a senior traveler who loves great food and excellent wine, one of the best luxury European cruises you can book is a Canary Islands cruise on Seabourn 's Seabourn Sojourn.
The small ship carries fewer than 500 passengers, and you won't find raucous parties or tons of children. Instead, you'll be met with stellar service, gourmet food, a room with a view (all cabins have at least a window) and relative peace and quiet. The long itineraries are ideal for wealthier passengers with lots of time to travel.
Seabourn Sojourn's voyages to the Canaries span 10 to 28 days and visit the islands of La Palma, Gran Canaria and Madeira, as well as Lisbon, Portugal. Fares start from $434 per person, per night, for an ocean-view cabin. Extras like Wi-Fi, gratuities and alcohol (including the in-room mini-bar) are rolled into the fares.

Best for solo cruisers: Norwegian Epic
When Norwegian Epic debuted in 2010, it introduced Norwegian Cruise Line 's first cabins for solo travelers. Designed with single beds and a bit less square footage, these so-called studio cabins are clustered around an exclusive lounge reserved for solos. Special activities allow folks traveling alone to mingle and make new friends.
Since Norwegian Epic began sailing, nearly all of the line's new ships — Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Getaway, Norwegian Escape, Norwegian Encore, Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva — have been built with accommodations for one, which don't charge occupants a single supplement . However, it's Norwegian Epic that has a presence in the Western Mediterranean, offering solo cruisers a chance to explore Europe on a ship with staterooms just for them.
On board, passengers have plenty of choices for activities and dining. In addition to the usual cruise-ship offerings — pool games, dance parties, game shows, trivia and movie screenings — Epic offers many fun diversions, including an adults-only beach club at the back of the ship, spa treatments, a bowling alley and even gaming lessons (the latter three for a fee).
The vessel sails five- to 12-night voyages back and forth between Rome and Barcelona, calling on ports that include Naples, Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza, Marseille, Cannes and Florence (Livorno). At press time, last-minute fares started from $90 per person, per night, for a studio cabin for one.

Best European party cruises: Virgin Voyages' Resilient Lady
If your Europe bucket list includes the Greek Isles, you don't want to sail with children, and you enjoy a lively party atmosphere, you can't go wrong with Virgin Voyages ' Resilient Lady. The third ship in the line's fleet, Resilient Lady offers some of the best cruises to the Greek Islands.
Expect a casual vibe where passengers dress up like mermaids, crew dress up like drag queens, and performers look like real people. Toss in an onboard tattoo parlor, a food court ( it's not a buffet ), free fitness classes and an app that lets you order Champagne to wherever you are on the ship, and you've got a product that has turned the cruise industry on its head.
Wild nights on board include raucous and sometimes raunchy theater shows, impromptu dance parties and Scarlet Night, a poolside bash reminiscent of a rave where everyone's dressed in red. If that's not enough, attend enough daily activities, and you might be invited to a secret nighttime tour of the crew bar, drinks included.
The ship offers a regular program of 7-, 10- and 14-night voyages, starting from $148 per person, per night, for an inside cabin. The itineraries involve a mix of ports in Greece, Montenegro, Croatia and Turkey, depending on the specific sailing you choose.

Best European cruises for 'wow' factor: Hurtigruten's Richard With
Looking for a sailing that no other cruise line offers — one that will make everyone on TikTok and Instagram jealous? I'm putting my money on a line you've likely never heard of: Hurtigruten .
What began more than 130 years ago as a way for Norway's residents to move themselves and cargo up and down the Norwegian coast continues today as both a means of transportation and a way for cruisers to experience the country's culture.
On the cruise line's Norwegian Coastal Express route, Hurtigruten's Richard With ship calls on 34 ports in just seven days. Some are quick stops in the middle of the night while cargo is loaded and unloaded, but you technically could get off the ship in each port if you wanted to. That in itself makes this itinerary buzzworthy.
Still need convincing? These voyages also cross into the Arctic Circle and sail into Geirangerfjord (northbound from Bergen to Kirkenes) and Trollfjord (southbound from Kirkenes to Bergen), affording absolutely breathtaking views and, of course, bragging rights.
The two routes can be combined into longer 13-day sailings, meaning you'd sail round-trip from Bergen and see all the fjords. Seven-night northbound itineraries from Bergen to Kirkenes start at $331 per person, per night, for an inside cabin.
Bottom line
Ultimately, the best cruise to Europe is a bit subjective in that it depends where in Europe you'd like to go and what your travel style is. Be sure to weigh a combination of destination, price and onboard vibe when deciding which is best for you and your travel party.

Croatia Deluxe Cruise - from Split
We had a great trip! Our cruise manager David was excellent, the crew did a great job to enhance our experience. The pre and after accommodation transportation was not a good experience. We ended up going to the wrong hotel upon arrival due to a hotel change that was sent to me while we were flying to Croatia, and had to find our way to a new hotel in an unknown city. Our post cruise transportation also failed, it never arrived. We had to find out own way to the hotel. We were also promised transportation from the hotel back to the airport on our last day, and that was never coordinated, so we had to find our own transportation the night before our departure. The begining and end of our trip was tarnished by the poor coordination. David Jiron Araica

Key West & Perfect Day at CocoCay Cruise
Key West, Florida
A five-day cruise to Key West and Perfect Day at CocoCay, our award-winning private island, is the perfect getaway. This relaxing itinerary blends culture, great food, waterslides, and beach life at its best.
During your day in Key West , join a food tour to taste the local cuisine, from conch fritters to Key lime pie, or visit the elegant villa where the great Ernest Hemingway lived and wrote. Explore the beaches, or join a snorkel tour to the nearby Florida Reef, teeming with marine life in brilliant colors.
Thrill Waterpark, CocoCay
Perfect Day at CocoCay offers just as many choices. Perhaps you’re looking for the daredevil experience of North America’s tallest waterslide, which you’ll find in the Thrill Waterpark. Or choose to spend your day in a luxurious overwater cabana, where the only choice required is when to have your next dip in the warm, clear water.
Pick your beach chair on the fringes of the vast, freeform Oasis Lagoon, join a snorkeling excursion, or fly high above the whole scene on the island’s zipline.
There’s a day at sea on this itinerary, too, which is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the ship, whether you want to lounge by the sparkling pool, relax with a spa treatment, or enjoy the many bars and restaurants.
Bahamas & Perfect Day at CocoCay Cruise
Set sail from Fort Lauderdale for the beautiful Bahamas, scattered like jewels across the warm Atlantic. Your first call is our award-winning private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay, a paradise of lagoon pools, white sand beaches, water activities, and thrill rides.
Be as active or as relaxed as you like here. There’s a hot air balloon that takes you up to 450 feet high for incredible vistas. Or ride the 135-foot Daredevil’s Peak, the tallest waterslide in North America. You might prefer simply to lie back with a book in a beachfront cabana on Chill Island.
Blue Lagoon Island, Bahamas
After a day on board to enjoy the luxurious facilities of your Celebrity ship, perhaps basking by the pool or enjoying lunch in the sunshine, you’ll arrive at bustling Nassau. This is the jumping-off point for the blissful beaches of Blue Lagoon and Pearl Island, also home to some of the best snorkeling in Nassau .
Elevate your experience further with a private cabana, or something different in the form of a watercolor painting class. Back in town, you could explore the colorful Straw Market, or join a rum-tasting tour.
Atlantis Paradise Island in Nassau, Bahamas
If you’re traveling with family, your kids will be grateful for a day at Aquaventure, the superb waterpark at Atlantis Paradise Island, where you can hurtle down vertiginous slides, drift along lazy rivers, and see sharks circling in an enormous aquarium.
Key West & Bimini Cruise
Fort Zachary Taylor in Key West, Florida
Relax in the tropical sunshine as your ship sets a course south from Miami to colorful Key West, the home of Key lime pie, coral sand beaches, candy-colored houses, and more than its fair share of history.
If you’re traveling with family, some of the best things to do in Key West with kids include visiting the imposing Fort Zachary Taylor to learn how the island was defended during the Civil War, and snapping a selfie next to the buoy that marks the southernmost point of the continental U.S. You can also explore Hemingway’s home and look out for the unusual six-toed cats that inhabit the lush garden.
Learn to roll your own cigar, or spend time with a historian to find out more about Key West in President Harry S. Truman’s time in the Little White House.
Bimini, Bahamas
Beautiful Bimini is a place to relax on the soft, white sand in the shade of a coconut palm, or explore the underwater world. You can swim among reef sharks, hand-feed stingrays, or even learn how conch is harvested.
Your final day on this blissful getaway is at sea, where you can relax in the sunshine and further recharge. Treat yourself to a massage in the spa, enjoy world-class cuisine, and toast the end of a perfect vacation at the Sunset Bar.
Nassau & Bimini Cruise
Pearl Island in Nassau, Bahamas
Set sail from Miami for a four-night tropical escape to Nassau and Bimini. Nassau is packed with exciting things to see and do, from rum tasting to private island beach escapes. Thrill-seekers can head to the Aquaventure waterpark at Atlantis Paradise Island, where you can ride the waterslides to your heart’s content and admire aquatic creatures in the aquarium.
If you prefer to get away from it all, take a boat cruise to romantic Pearl Island, home to some of the best beaches around Nassau . Here, you could spend your day paddleboarding over the aquamarine waters or sea kayaking. Climb the lighthouse for views over the surrounding islands and enjoy a traditional Bahamian lunch.
Rooftop Terrace
You’ll have a day at sea in between your two island stops to explore your Celebrity ship. Head to the beautiful pool deck and the Rooftop Terrace, where you can bask in the sun or perhaps take in an al-fresco movie.
When you arrive in beautiful Bimini, you’ll be refreshed and ready for another day of exploration. Take a deep sea fishing trip, or join a tour where you can snorkel among reef sharks. Treat yourself to a private cabana on a white sand beach, or relax by the pool in a luxurious beach club.
Bruges & The Netherlands Cruise
Rotterdam, Netherlands
Sail from Southampton to some of the most exciting cities in Northern Europe on a culture-packed 5-day cruise. You’ll start with a relaxing day at sea to explore the many attractions of Celebrity Apex , whether you want to relax by the pool, unwind in the spa, or enjoy the ship’s fantastic array of bars and lounges.
Your first port of call is Rotterdam , a dynamic, multicultural city on the banks of the river Nieuwe Maas, famed for its avant-garde architecture and superb art galleries.
The Museumpark alone is worth a day—and if you want to see “old” Rotterdam, simply cross the iconic Erasmus Bridge and explore the pubs and cafés of Delfshaven. Historic Amsterdam is only an hour away, where you can embark on a romantic canal journey or explore some of the world’s finest art museums.
Markt Square in Bruges, Belgium
You’ll also have a full day to explore Bruges, an exquisite medieval city near the port of Zeebrugge. Cobblestone streets, bucolic canals, and flower-filled window boxes all add to the beauty of Bruges, the splendid Markt square at its heart, overseen by an impressive belfry.
There’s no shortage of entertainment here, not least thanks to its culinary scene. Try sweet Belgian waffles or stock up on chocolate truffles filled with fresh cream. If you prefer something savory, moules-frites is the local specialty; mussels cooked in a deliciously garlicky stock, served with crisp fries.
Taste of Luxury Cruise
Magic Carpet
Make a grand exit from Sydney’s gorgeous harbor as you set sail for Hobart, the capital of mountainous Tasmania .
You’ll have plenty of time to explore the beautiful Celebrity Edge; be sure to take a seat on the Magic Carpet, suspended high above the water with 270-degree views, for the sailaway.
Hobart in Tasmania, Australia
Hobart is a fascinating little city, gaining a name for itself thanks to its many artisan food producers, coffee shops, craft breweries, and spectacular art scene. Explore the city’s darker side on a tour of Port Arthur, a former penal colony.
One of the best things to do in Hobart is to join a tour of the provocative Museum of Old and New Art, dug into the ancient sandstone of a nearby peninsula and with its own winery, making this a great day out.
Mount Wellington in Tasmania, Australia
If you want to experience a bit of the great outdoors, head up Mount Wellington for spectacular views down over the city; you can rent a mountain bike and freewheel down with a guide. See some of Australia’s native creatures at the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, a haven for koalas, kangaroos, wombats, and the famous Tasmanian devil.
Western Caribbean Cruise
Marine life in Cozumel, Mexico
A five-day Western Caribbean cruise itinerary departs from Miami and takes you to beautiful Cozumel, one of Mexico’s true treasures along the Mayan Riviera.
Cozumel , an island off the eastern coast of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, is prized for the reef system that circles the island. Scuba divers come from around the world to explore the abundance of coral and sea life, including whales, sharks, eagle rays, hawksbill sea turtles, lobsters, nurse sharks, and the dramatic-looking Cozumel splendid toadfish.
If you’re scuba certified, you can swim among schools of tropical fish and other marine life, and marvel at the colorful coral. If you’re not certified, book a swim and snorkel shore excursion that lets you enjoy reefs and marine life in shallower waters.
Chankanaab Park in Cozumel, Mexico
Snorkeling in Cozumel is a great option for all ages, and no certification is needed. The best places to snorkel in Cozumel are at Playa Corona, Chankanaab Park, and the Villa Blanca Reef wall.
On this five-day cruise in the Caribbean , you’ll enjoy two luxurious days at sea where world-class amenities, exquisite dining, and exceptional service await. Head to the Rendezvous lounge for a drink and mingle with fellow guests. Then soak up some sun on the stunning rooftop terrace. Choose The Retreat for an exclusive all-suite experience that includes private dining and lounge access that rivals any high-end resort.
Tulum in Cozumel, Mexico
While you’re in port at Cozumel, you’re just a few miles away from some of the best that Mexico has to offer. Visit Tulum, a Mayan ruin that’s located on the coast rather than inland, in a beautiful and much-photographed setting with a backdrop of turquoise sea. See the starfish sanctuary at El Cielo, a secluded sandbar, where you can swim and snorkel in aquamarine water. Take an active tour of the island’s interior on an ATV or dune buggy along rugged trails.
If leisurely and laid-back are your preferred mode of vacation, spend time in town shopping, walking along the waterfront, and enjoying the easy Cozumel lifestyle while eating and people-watching at a sidewalk cafe.
Key West & The Bahamas Cruise
Unwind and relax on one of our colorful and carefree five-day cruises to Key West and Nassau on one of our incredible new ships. Key West and the Bahamas offer endless distractions and are so close to the mainland that they make the perfect short break.
From swimming with dolphins in Key West to shopping for hand-made crafts at the Nassau straw market, you can fill your days with activities, using the time at sea to laze on board and enjoy the tropical sunshine.
Explore all the exciting things to see and do on board one of our luxury cruise ships during your day at sea. Work out at the fitness center, then pamper yourself at the spa. Savor dinner at one of the specialty restaurants, then see a show, try your luck at the casino, enjoy an after-dinner drink at one of the bars or lounges, and dance under the stars.
In Key West , spend a day lazing on a palm-fringed beach or cycle around town to discover this beautiful 4.2-square-mile island. Indulge in a delicious seafood lunch and try the island’s famous key lime pie.
Sun-kissed, white-sand beaches and sapphire blue water await in Nassau . Take the ferry over to Blue Lagoon for beach time on the sand or swaying in a hammock. Enjoy watersports like snorkeling and savor tasty conch fritters.
Get up close and personal with playful dolphins on a dolphin swim excursion, and be sure to stop by the Straw Market downtown to watch artisans at work making straw hats, baskets, and other handicrafts.
Bruges & Amsterdam Cruise
Bruges, Belgium
Discover the charming ports of Bruges and Amsterdam during a five-day cruise that departs from Southampton , a city located less than two hours away from London. Before your cruise, admire famous landmarks like Big Ben and Buckingham Palace, go shopping on Oxford Street, or spend the afternoon in the nearby town of Windsor, home of the famous Windsor Castle.
Chocolate truffles
In Bruges , marvel at the medieval buildings and cobblestone streets in the city center. Board a boat cruise and explore the maze of canals that snake through the city. Bruges is also known as the chocolate capital of Belgium, so make sure to sample handmade chocolate truffles during your time in port.
One of the best things to do in Bruges for art aficionados is to visit the Groeningemuseum, where you can see a wide range of Belgian artworks from the Renaissance and Flemish eras, spanning some 400 years of history. Before boarding your cruise, don’t miss the Basilica of the Holy Blood, a famed 12th-century Romanesque church that is believed to contain a cloth stained with the blood of Jesus.
Amsterdam, Netherlands
During your day in Amsterdam , explore the city’s many museums, including the Anne Frank House, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Van Gogh Museum, which houses the largest collection of works by the Dutch artist. Satiate your sweet tooth with a freshly made stroopwafel—a caramel-filled wafer—as you wander along the streets that curve around the city’s canals.
Don’t miss a visit to Vondelpark, Amsterdam’s urban oasis full of green spaces, man-made waterways, a meticulously manicured rose garden, and more. Just a short taxi or bus ride away lies Amsterdam’s old city center, De Wallen.
Here you can explore the city’s quintessential canals, traditional Dutch homes, and historic monuments all within a compact area. A guided canal cruise will give you a different perspective of the city and its history.
Rent a bicycle and pedal your way around one of the most cycle-friendly cities on Earth. You can admire Amsterdam’s gorgeous 17th-century buildings while traveling through well-organized lanes, built specifically for cyclists.
This is a great way to see a lot of Amsterdam in a short time, and a popular mode of leisure and functional transportation for locals. Before boarding your ship, be sure to do some shopping and people-watching in the bustling Leidseplein Square, a popular and vibrant commercial area famous for its bars, restaurants, and shopping.

Fresh supplies of weapons from the US have begun to arrive in Ukraine but the process needs to speed up, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said.
Speaking alongside NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg at a joint news conference in Kyiv, the Ukrainian president said there had been "timely support for our army".
He added, however: "Today I don't see anything positive on this point yet.
"There are supplies - they have slightly begun. This process needs to be sped up."
A new $61bn (£48bn) US military aid package was finally signed into law last week after months of deadlock in the US House of Representatives.
Kyiv is hoping its critically low stocks of artillery shells will soon be replenished.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy has thanked "partners" as he said Ukraine is "making every effort" to use drones more effectively.
In addition to posting some pictures on X, the Ukrainian president said he wanted to thank people who train drone operators, as well as "our warriors for their efficiency".
He added: "I thank everyone involved in the production and those who ensure better protection of the Ukrainian skies through their work."
Ukrainian servicemen have been saying goodbye to their visiting partners at the railway station in Kramatorsk, eastern Ukraine.
The men were on a short break from frontline duty.
Russia's defence ministry says its forces have taken control of the village of Semenivka in the eastern Donetsk region.
Yesterday, the ministry announced the capture of another village, Novobakhmutivka.
Ocheretyne, also near by, has been a focal point of fighting in recent days.
Ukraine's top general, speaking yesterday, said fighting had intensified in the east of the country, with troops falling back in three areas.
Oleksandr Syrskyi said Russian troops had achieved "certain tactical successes" in the villages of Berdychi, Semenivka and Novomykhailivka.
Ukraine has confirmed that chatbots used by its security agencies on Telegram have been restored after being temporarily blocked.
We reported earlier (6.56am post) that Kyiv's security service described their blocking as "unreasonable".
Now, Ukraine's Centre for Strategic Communication has said three affected bots, used by Ukraine's SBU security service, the GUR and digital ministry for the war effort, had been restored.
A Telegram spokesperson said they were "temporarily disabled due to a false positive but have since been reinstated".
The number of civilians killed or injured in Ukraine in March was 604, according to the UN, which has a human rights monitoring team in the country.
The figure is 20% higher than February's.
The UK defence ministry, highlighting the numbers in its daily intelligence update, said 57 children were reported killed in March, "double the previous month".
Their deaths have been "attributed directly to Russian use of aerial munitions", the MoD said.
Civilian deaths in general are attributed to "missile and aerial-munitions strikes throughout Ukraine and increased bombardment at the frontlines".
The UN's report highlights an increase in coordinated strikes on critical Ukrainian infrastructure, with 20 sites "destroyed or damaged".
In total, there have been 31,366 civilian casualties in Ukraine since 24 February 2022, the MoD said (including areas Russia is controlling).
Of those, 10,810 were killed and 20,556 were wounded.
We reported earlier in our big picture post (6.27am post) that Oleksandr Pivnenko, who commands Ukraine's National Guard, is not ruling out a Russian attempt to target Kharkiv - Ukraine's second-largest city.
Kharkiv has been the focus of recent air attacks.
The US-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW) thinktank assesses that the Russian military "lacks the forces necessary to seize the city".
But the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian armed forces, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi, has said the threat of an invasion is causing Ukraine to allocate additional resources to defend the city - weakening forces elsewhere.
The ISW said: "Syrskyi noted that Ukrainian forces have recently improved their positions near Synkivka (east of Kharkiv)."
The Russians' "combat effectiveness" can be questioned because of their "inability to seize Synkivka despite repeated mass infantry and mechanized assaults", the ISW said.
It went on: "ISW continues to assess that a potential future Russian offensive to seize Kharkiv City would be an extremely ambitious undertaking that would pose significant challenges to Russian forces, particularly since Russian forces will be facing better-equipped Ukrainian forces following the arrival of US military assistance."
Telegram has reportedly restored some blocked Ukrainian bots.
They include those of the security service and ministry of digital transformation, the Kyiv Post said on X.
As we reported earlier (6.56am post) the security service said Telegram had "unreasonably" blocked bots that "opposed Russia's military aggression against Ukraine".
Three men who are entrepreneurs in their day jobs have been assembling drones in a home kitchen in Kyiv.
Denys, Yaw and Eugene send the tiny aircraft on to the Ukrainian armed forces.
There is concern within the international community about the US supplying long-range missiles to Ukraine, North Korea has said.
As we report in our big picture post (6.27am post) Kyiv has used long-range ballistic missiles from the US against Russia twice this month, according to NBC News.
"The US has secretly supplied long-range missiles to Ukraine, sparking off uneasiness and concern of the international community," North Korea's defence ministry said.
"The US can never defeat the heroic Russian army and people with any latest weaponry or military support," it added, according to state news agency KCNA.
Professor Michael Clarke, Sky News's military analyst, has said North Korea is supplying weapons to Russia - facilitated by China.

Amsterdam targets river cruises
The latest target in Amsterdam’s decade-long battle against overtourism is an unlikely one: river cruises .
City finance chief Hester van Buren announced this month that the city wants to halve the number of river cruises by 2028, from the current total of 2125. Councillors have already voted to close an ocean cruise terminal in the city centre.
But local businesses have suggested visitors who take river boat tours from Amsterdam are not typically nuisance tourists. The 271,000 people are often older, enjoy a night at a hotel and spend an estimated €63 million.
However, it is all part of around 100 measures to try to stem tourism, which exploded after late mayor Eberhard van der Laan brokered a deal with Airbnb to officially allow holiday home rentals in 2014 – and take a cut of the tax.
Since 2023, smoking cannabis outside has been banned in the city centre, there are restrictions on alcohol sales, pubs have earlier closing times in the red light district, and the city plans to close 100 brothel windows and move them to an “erotic centre”. City tax is up and a “ stay away ” plan to dissuade nuisance young Brits hit the global headlines and will be expanded to other nations such as the French, Germans and Dutch themselves.
Despite all this, hotel overnights rose to over 20 million last year (not including holiday rentals) and although there’s an official ban on new hotels, 26 are being built. The Dutch came up with the word “overtourism” in 2017 and it’s still an everyday term.
'What fee?' Tourists react to new Venice fee
Tourists arriving in Venice on Thursday were welcomed by ticket controllers as the city became the first in the world to charge an entrance fee.
The hotly debated measure, targeted at day-trippers, kicked in at 8.30am. Most of the day-trippers arriving at Santa Lucia station came pre-prepared with a QR code proving they had payed the €5 toll, but the initiative sparked confusion among people staying in hotels who, even though they are exempt, were unaware they would still have to endure the rigmarole of going online to confirm their exemption.
A steward guided Yvonne McKenna and Ken Mehan, who had just arrived on an overnight train from Vienna, through the process, which took about 10 minutes.
“I knew about the new tax and I knew about the exemption but I didn’t know we would be doing this when we arrived,” said McKenna. “It does seem to take a long time...imagine if you weren’t so up on all the technology?”
Others were totally oblivious to the new measure. “What fee?” asked Elizabeth from America, before being taught how to pay online.
The initiative has caused much division in Venice, with opponents arguing that it is against the principle of freedom of movement and will do nothing to meaningfully address over-tourism.
Some who live in other tourist hotspots sympathise with their plight, but support the fee.
Jana Plevova, from Prague, is spending five nights in the city and so is exempt as she already pays a nightly tourist tax, but said she would have no problem paying €5 to enter for the day.
“I come from Prague which is also suffering from over-tourism so paying €5 is not that much for trying to preserve this beauty,” she said.
Only about one in ten people present in Venice have paid a €5 fee to access the city, Ansa reported today.
The daily Le Parisien ran a front page on the Venice scheme drawing comparisons with the challenges of over-tourism at some sites in France.
For example, the Calanques de Sugiton, in the Calanques national park near Marseille, has put in place a quota reservation system for hikers and swimmers at peak moments in the summer months to protect the ecosystem from erosion and overcrowding.
The paper cited an OpinionWay poll for Evaneos in which 60% of French people said they had suffered because of overtourism. Three quarters said they had given up on visiting a site because of overcrowding.
Éric Straumann , the mayor of the picturesque Alsace town of Colmar told the paper he was thinking about whether to introduce some kind of limited access to the Christmas market, which at weekends can reach 150,000 visitors in a town of 70,000 people.
There are islands in France which limit the number of daily visitors in the summer, for example the Île-de-Brehat in Brittany and at Porquerolles in the south. The Mont-Saint-Michel in Normandy does not have quotas, but shuttle buses to the site have been limited and car-park reservations introduced.
‘A family used to live here’: The Spanish sticker rebellion battling tourist lets
Incensed after finding out his rental home of 10 years was about to become a tourist apartment, Dani Romero took to social media.
What followed swiftly snowballed into a movement, as residents in Málaga began plastering stickers – reading “A family used to live here” or “Go home” – outside tourist lets across the southern Spanish city.
“I didn’t mean to arm a revolution,” said Romero. “I’m just looking for a house to live in.”
At the core of what one Spanish broadcaster called “the sticker rebellion” is not a rejection of tourism, said Romero. Instead, as city residents grapple with a record number of tourists, it’s a cri de coeur for a more balanced approach that could allow for a better coexistence between residents and tourists.
It’s a debate playing out across Europe, as cities from Athens to Amsterdam wrestle with how best to tackle overtourism.

NGO cautions about environmental impact of over-tourism
Transport & Environment, an NGO campaigning for cleaner transport, has warned about the impact of over-tourism.
”The current number of cruise ships globally is higher than it’s ever been, according to data from Clarksons Research,” the NGO said this morning.
“In 2022, Europe’s 218 cruise ships emitted as much sulphur oxides (SOx) as 1 billion cars, T&E’s Return of the Cruise report (2023) found,” it said, noting that “Europe’s cruise ships emit 8 million tonnes of CO2 every year.”
“In 2021 Venice banned large cruise ships from entering the city. This led to an 80% fall in SOX emissions from cruise ships. Barcelona is now Europe’s most polluted port,” Transport & Environment said.
Carlos Calvo Ambel , senior director for Non-Road Transport at T&E, added:
Europe’s luxury cruise ships emit as much toxic sulphur as a billion cars, and low-cost airlines are now polluting more CO2 than ever. The uncontrolled growth of these two sectors must come to an end. Cruise ships should plug into electricity if they want to dock, and the adoption of zero-emission fuels by cruises and airlines needs to happen fast. If cruise lines and airlines don’t radically change how they operate, they will increasingly be seen as unwanted guests.
Venice access fee: what is it and how much does it cost?
Why is this being introduced?
According to Simone Venturini, the city’s councillor for tourism, Venice “affixed itself” to mass tourism in the 1960s and since then visitor numbers have surged to the point that during the busiest periods of the year it attracts an average of 40,000 people a day.
That number has put pressure on the fragile lagoon, while pushing residents away from the main island. Brugnaro said he wanted to make Venice “livable” again.
However, the final push to enact the measure came after Unesco threatened last year to put Venice on its list of heritage sites in danger, citing mass tourism and rising water levels attributed to climate change.
How much is the charge and who has to pay?
The “Venice access fee” costs €5 (£4.30).

‘Are we joking?’: Venice residents protest as city starts charging visitors to enter
Authorities in Venice have been accused of transforming the famous lagoon city into a “theme park” as a long-mooted entrance fee for day trippers comes into force.
Venice is the first major city in the world to enact such a scheme. The €5 (£4.30) charge, which comes into force today, is aimed at protecting the Unesco world heritage site from the effects of excessive tourism by deterring day trippers and, according to the mayor, Luigi Brugnaro, making the city “livable” again.
But several residents’ committees and associations have planned protests for Thursday, arguing that the fee will do nothing to resolve the issue.
“I can tell you that almost the entire city is against it,” claimed Matteo Secchi, who leads Venessia.com, a residents’ activist group. “You can’t impose an entrance fee to a city; all they’re doing is transforming it into a theme park. This is a bad image for Venice … I mean, are we joking?”
Once the heart of a powerful maritime republic, Venice’s main island has lost more than 120,000 residents since the early 1950s, driven away by a number of issues but predominantly a focus on mass tourism that has caused the population to be dwarfed by the thousands of visitors who crowd its squares, bridges and narrow walkways at the busiest times of the year.
