HiSky Review [2024]: A Low-cost Airline with Good Service?

HiSky Review [2024]: A Low-cost Airline with Good Service?

Hidden costs while traveling are never fun. Thankfully, HiSky is a low-cost airline that frees you from this issue with its smart cost model and fee transparency. Discover HiSky and determine whether it's the airline for you!

hi travel opiniones

The prices of goods and services and interest rates have increased. This makes selecting a cost-effective airline vital during travel planning. But finding one that guarantees a good experience is easier said than done due to hidden costs.

Hidden costs are a deceptive marketing technique businesses use to get customers to pay more for the overall expenses. You know that feeling when you purchase a flight ticket, only to soon find out that several other costs are added to the actual price?

HiSky stepped ahead to tackle this issue. The airline charges for all additional services in a transparent way to allow customers to keep track of how much they are paying. This unique feature has gained the trust of many passengers who have traveled with HiSky and other prominent airlines discussed in this article.

HiSky logo

What is HiSky?

HiSky  is an air carrier in Chișinău, Moldova, established in 2022. HiSky strives to adhere to high health and safety standards because the team understands the importance of these standards.

A skilled team of experts in the aviation field, who all share the same passion, work together to ensure the efficient functioning of the airline. The company operates air travel to and from the most desired destinations in Russia and Europe.

The Founder of HiSky

Iulian Scorpan is the founder of HiSky. He is a long-time pilot and airline executive. Having learned firsthand what was missing in the airline market, he founded his own company to fill this gap.

How to Make Ticket Bookings

You can book with HiSky through their website. Choose your departure and return dates on their homepage. Then, select the number of passengers traveling.

Remember to select the correct currency of payment from the available options and whether or not you'll be flying with them round-trip.

Screenshot of HiSky booking process

HiSky's Pricing Policy

HiSky's cost strategy combines minimal cost with a wide variety of extra services, each priced in a way where passengers are informed of their fees. This feature has made it a worthy option to consider alongside other budget airlines such as  Play Air  and  Pegasus Airlines .

If you want to cancel, change, or make any upgrades to your flight, keep in mind that the seat reservation amount is not refunded, nor does your seat number get transferred to the other flight. To make changes to your ticket details, you may have to pay a rebooking fee depending on your flight class.

Managing finances along with traveling can be hectic. In such circumstances, a personal finance app like  Splitwise  will be your best friend to help you stay budget-conscious on your travels.

HiSky's Service Packages

HiSky offers economy and premium economy class tickets in four different service packages: Basic, Classic, Premium, and Premium Plus.

All their packages include free online check-in services 24 hours before departure and an 8 kg allowance for 1 in cabin baggage. No matter your choice, you will receive quality services and be attended to professionally by the company staff.

You can also find out if HiSky is offering flight deals with  SkyScanner !

  • Free online check-in 24 hours before departure
  • €10 charge for airport check-in
  • One 8 kg cabin luggage

Where Does HiSky Fly?

It's a bit complicated, so I'll leave their  list of destinations  here. They fly to a small set of international destinations from specific local Maldova airports. So be sure to double-check the departure and landing location before booking your flight.

HiSky was founded only 2 years ago and is still expanding its list of destinations. So be sure to keep an eye out for future destinations that may interest you!

Is HiSky Worth It?

The team at HiSky strives to maintain airline standards in terms of consistency, flight infrastructure, diversity, and services provided to passengers.

Despite being a diverse and cost-effective airline, HiSky does have some flaws to keep in mind. Just like many other airlines, there are concerns over delays and cancelations. It's not news to an experienced budget traveler, but if you're new to this, keep this in mind and allow for some flexibility in your travel plans.

If you value a good flight experience and other benefits like affordable fares with no hidden costs, HiSky is worth considering.

Our Rating: 3.8/5

  • Experienced and professional crew members
  • Minimal costs
  • No hidden costs
  • Unexpected cancellations
  • Customer care inactive to queries
  • Flight delays

Touring the Top 10 Moscow Metro Stations

By Claudia Looi 2 Comments

Komsomolskaya metro station

Komsomolskaya metro station looks like a museum. It has vaulted ceilings and baroque decor.

Hidden underground, in the heart of Moscow, are historical and architectural treasures of Russia. These are Soviet-era creations – the metro stations of Moscow.

Our guide Maria introduced these elaborate metro stations as “the palaces for the people.” Built between 1937 and 1955, each station holds its own history and stories. Stalin had the idea of building beautiful underground spaces that the masses could enjoy. They would look like museums, art centers, concert halls, palaces and churches. Each would have a different theme. None would be alike.

The two-hour private tour was with a former Intourist tour guide named Maria. Maria lived in Moscow all her life and through the communist era of 60s to 90s. She has been a tour guide for more than 30 years. Being in her 60s, she moved rather quickly for her age. We traveled and crammed with Maria and other Muscovites on the metro to visit 10 different metro stations.

Moscow subways are very clean

To Maria, every street, metro and building told a story. I couldn’t keep up with her stories. I don’t remember most of what she said because I was just thrilled being in Moscow.   Added to that, she spilled out so many Russian words and names, which to one who can’t read Cyrillic, sounded so foreign and could be easily forgotten.

The metro tour was the first part of our all day tour of Moscow with Maria. Here are the stations we visited:

1. Komsomolskaya Metro Station  is the most beautiful of them all. Painted yellow and decorated with chandeliers, gold leaves and semi precious stones, the station looks like a stately museum. And possibly decorated like a palace. I saw Komsomolskaya first, before the rest of the stations upon arrival in Moscow by train from St. Petersburg.

2. Revolution Square Metro Station (Ploshchad Revolyutsii) has marble arches and 72 bronze sculptures designed by Alexey Dushkin. The marble arches are flanked by the bronze sculptures. If you look closely you will see passersby touching the bronze dog's nose. Legend has it that good luck comes to those who touch the dog's nose.

3. Arbatskaya Metro Station served as a shelter during the Soviet-era. It is one of the largest and the deepest metro stations in Moscow.

4. Biblioteka Imeni Lenina Metro Station was built in 1935 and named after the Russian State Library. It is located near the library and has a big mosaic portrait of Lenin and yellow ceramic tiles on the track walls.

5. Kievskaya Metro Station was one of the first to be completed in Moscow. Named after the capital city of Ukraine by Kiev-born, Nikita Khruschev, Stalin's successor.

7. Kurskaya Metro Station was one of the first few to be built in Moscow in 1938. It has ceiling panels and artwork showing Soviet leadership, Soviet lifestyle and political power. It has a dome with patriotic slogans decorated with red stars representing the Soviet's World War II Hall of Fame. Kurskaya Metro Station is a must-visit station in Moscow.
