Is Tom Cruise’s Secluded Hollywood House Priced Right at $13M?

Is Tom Cruise’s Secluded Hollywood House Priced Right at $13M?

Whether you call it a  compound or a mansion , the ultraprivate  Los Angeles  home recently listed  by Tom Cruise is priced … right. At least that’s the opinion of a couple of area experts who believe the home’s privacy, beauty, and location make it a smart buy.

Listed for just a shade under $13 million, the 2.75-acre property in the Hollywood Hills is represented by listing broker  Michael Eisenberg .

Coming up with the necessary cash might be an issue if you’re not on the A-list, but Marisa Zanuck from Nest Seekers Zanuck in Beverly Hills told us the price accurately reflects the home’s size, location, and seclusion.

She’s toured the home, loves it, and thinks it won’t last long on the market. “I’m actually showing it this week to a celebrity client,” she said. “I think [agent] Michael Eisenberg is going to sell it fairly quickly. There aren’t a lot of houses for this price that have this kind of privacy and are done .”

Set back from Mulholland Drive on its own knoll, the home has a long, private driveway that separates prying eyes from the home’s occupants. Zanuck said the isolated locale will appeal to celebs who specifically want to avoid the camera’s gaze when not on set.

“Someone who wants extreme, extreme privacy is going to buy this house. Nobody knows who’s coming or going. Nobody knows if anyone’s home,” she said. “That’s why people like those long, private driveways. Most other houses in the hills don’t have this type of privacy, this sort of frontage separating them from the street. A lot of them are set into the hill, they’re right on the street, and they may have a gate—but it’s easy to look in and see if someone’s home.”

Gary Gold of Hilton & Hyland echoed Zanuck’s opinion: “It’s for someone looking to be private. It’s away from paparazzi, away from attention. There are no tour buses that can see this place.”

Gold also touted the great views from this location, the relative serenity, and the home’s proximity to nature. But that quietude does come with a small cost (beyond the $13 million, of course). As he put it, “The home’s close to everything, and next to nothing.”

He told us you couldn’t roll out of bed and walk down the street for a cup of coffee (or adult beverage), which may diminish the home’s allure for buyers who are party people. But for folks who desire serenity, the compound might be a place they never want to leave.

Zanuck said the property’s spacious layout, which includes a three-bedroom main house and a four-bedroom guesthouse, was what attracted her the most. “It’s like a mini estate. The outdoor living area and the indoor-outdoor flow is like being at a European villa,” she said.

And despite its Euro-inspired feel, she believes it’ll be a local buyer who makes a move for the Cruise compound. Gold agreed and said this home is “more of a local buy.”

“A lot of people are coming to California and parking money here from outside of the country. But this specific house, this type of house, is either going to be a celebrity or a California-based businessman,” Zanuck said.

Zanuck was also impressed by the fact that a buyer wouldn’t have to do much more than bring a moving truck. The location and square footage factor in to the home’s price tag, she said, but also “people are paying a premium for homes  that are done .”

Neither agent believes there’s any sort of celebrity premium built into the list price, but Gold wasn’t quite as gung-ho about the final number. He hemmed a bit and said the price is “not far off,” adding that it’s hard to get $13 million in the area. “If this home was in Bel Air, it would be priceless.”

Where Does Tom Cruise Live And How Big Is His House?

Tom Cruise at the 2018

With a  net worth of $600 million , Tom Cruise and the word "movie star" are practically synonymous. Given his impressive resume, spanning from his breakout 1983 role in "Risky Business" to his ever-more-momentous "Mission Impossible" blockbuster franchise, the actor has not stopped making the big bucks for both himself and everyone around him — with his films earning hundreds of upon hundreds in the three decades he's been a star.

Like many of Hollywood's biggest stars, Cruise's life story was as close to rags-to-riches as they come. "For years, all I had were a bed, a desk and a chair," Tom Cruise told Roger Ebert in 1986. "When I was making a movie, they put me in hotel rooms. Between jobs, I moved back into my apartment, and my lifestyle dropped considerably." Coming from an underprivileged childhood, Cruise quickly learned the value of hard work no matter one's net worth.  "It's a strange thing, being handed so much power," Cruise also related to Ebert.  "My point of view and my values haven't changed. Everybody wants to push and pull me, but I refuse to change my lifestyle."

Nonetheless, Cruise's lifestyle has changed on the surface at least. Given that he has no doubt ditched that scarcely decorated apartment for cushier digs since, let's explore just where and what type of home Cruise inhabits these days!

Tom Cruise's penthouse is cool — even for Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise at the Kremlin in 2013

Tom Cruise has called Florida his home base since 2018. Per Architectural Digest , Cruise fetched a pretty $55 million when he sold his Los Angeles and New York properties in 2016, moving into a multimillion-dollar penthouse in Clearwater, Florida. Planned by a wealthy Scientologist — Cruise is controversially tied to the religion — the 10-story SkyView condominium is one block from the Church of Scientology, per People . With Cruise reportedly close friends with church leader David Miscavige, a source told the outlet that the movie star was "very relaxed when he's here."

In addition to occupying the entire top two floors, according to AD, Cruise's pad packs amenities like a roof deck, a nearly 40-foot pool, a bar, and more. What sets the pad apart from other celebrity dig, however, is the passageway that leads to a private, smaller condo on the second floor (which houses a flight simulator, for one). Additionally, there is a nine-car garage and private car elevator (what a cool phrase to say). Now that's  on par with expectations for the "Mission Impossible" star.

Tom Cruise sold his vacation home in Colorado for millions

Tom Cruise's ranch in Telluride, Colorado, 1994

Although Clearwater, Florida, might be Tom Cruise's personal headquarters, he also owns property in West Sussex, England — for one. Per The Sun , the estate was purchased by Cruise in 2006 for a reported $4.2 million. Bearing the regal title of "Rede Place," the property is located in Dormans Park, East Grinstead, which is reportedly close to the British headquarters of the Church of Scientology. Boasting 14 acres of land and an 11,331-square-foot interior, per insider , the manor was constructed in 2003, meaning Cruise would likely be one of its very first owners.

Cruise parted ways with his longtime 320-acre Telluride, Colo. ranch, which was reportedly a vacation refuge frequented by Cruise with ex-wife Katie Holmes and his children. Putting the ranch on sale for $39.5 million in March, per Forbes , the home sold without a hitch two months later for the asking price . Ardent followers of Cruise's career might remember this was the shooting location for a follow-up to his infamous 2005 interview with Oprah Winfrey , as noted by  Town & Country . However, Cruise's Telluride ranch's main draw, aside from being a ski haven known for its celebrity denizens, is the cozy seclusion it provides for the uber-famous. No wonder it sold so fast!

Tom Cruise's quiet life in Sussex in £3m mansion on exclusive estate away from cameras

The Top Gun star can't seem to stay away from the county

  • 15:55, 5 MAY 2022

Tom Cruise chats to the Duke of Richmond at Goodwood in 2021.

Tom Cruise is one of the most recognisable faces in Hollywood. From his iconic role in Top Gun, to acting parts in Mission Impossible and Jack Reacher - the American actor is never far from the big screen.

While he is known across the globe, many people may not realise that the 59-year-old has strong links to East Grinstead . He just can't seem to stay away.

But why is the superstar actor so fascinated with the West Sussex town? We've done some digging into Tom Cruise's links to the county and this is what we found.

Tom Cruise's links to East Grinstead

Back in 2006, the American actor forked out around £3 million on an enormous house in East Grinstead, measuring 11,000 square feet. Since then, he's been pictured in the county on many occasions, and it is believed he even spent the first national lockdown in the West Sussex town.

Some may wonder why the film star chose to spend part of his life there, but it holds great significance for the famous Scientologist. Scientology's headquarters, Saint Hill, are located in East Grinstead - the religious movement followed by Cruise and numerous other A-list actors.

The Church of Scientology's is going to have to fork out a huge sum of money for a new sewage system at their UK headquarters

After selling his house in 2016, he returned to the town last summer. During the first national lockdown, the actor was believed to be staying in a wing of the headquarters.

Saint Hill had a multi-million pound renovation in 2016, which includes a new Michelin-starred chef and luxury accommodation. Cruise's former mansion continued to attract famous residents, with singer Peter Andre taking the property off his hands for around £5 million.

The six-bedroom property is more than eight times higher than the average house price in East Grinstead - but it features a cinema room as well as a gym, outdoor swimming pool and a tennis court.

Has Tom Cruise visited other parts of Sussex?

In July last year the producer was spotted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2021. He was seen enjoying the event and was pictured alongside the Duke of Richmond at the festival's final day.

This wasn't the first time he'd attended the racing event. He made an appearance in 2014 on Ladies' Day, where he was photographed with supermodel Edie Campbell and Theo Fennell.

However, Cruise wasn't able to stick around in Chichester for too long last year. He was spotted just hours later waving to fans at Wimbledon, London.

Tom Cruise waves to fans as he watches the Gentlemen's Singles Final between Matteo Berrettini and Novak Djokovic on centre court on day thirteen of Wimbledon at The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Wimbledon.

He watched Serbian Novak Djokovic win his sixth men's title against Italian Matteo Berrettini. His socialising didn't stop there, though, because he was later seen at Wembley sat beside David Beckham cheering on England in the Euro 2020 final against Italy.

The star was seen celebrating Luke Shaw's goal in the first two minutes.

What does Tom Cruise think of England?

When approached at the last Jack Reacher premiere, he said that England "is a really great place to live". In 2020, sources told The Sunday Mirror that Cruise was looking into buying a home in Britain.

A source said: "Tom is active more than ever in the organisation. His role is getting bigger and bigger. He wants to move to the UK permanently and has been looking at properties around Saint Hill Manor so he can be on hand and close by."

Let’s draw a parallel between his previous and present homes and discuss their distinguishing characteristics– all from an architect’s perspective.

Tom Cruise House: 10 Facts through Architect's Lens - Sheet1

Heart in Hollywood Hills | Tom Cruise House

The country estates in Tuscany, Italy, inspired the Hollywood Hills House’s striking Old World charm. With seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms , and light-filled living areas with vaulted ceilings, European-style decor, and wide-plank hardwood flooring, the entire house was remodelled in 2006, most likely by Cruise. In addition, there are multiple outdoor dining terraces, a stunning chef’s kitchen, and a three-acre garden with a lagoon-style pool. This stunning home is ideal for Hollywood royalty since it offers breathtaking 180-degree views of Los Angeles from its private gardens.

Cosy in Colorado

The stunning 320-acre Colorado ranch provided him with privacy, serenity, and breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape . The 930 sq. m  house includes vaulted ceilings, floor-to-ceiling fireplaces, and spectacular views of the mountains. The stunning residence has four bedrooms and was constructed from native stone and bleached cedar timbers. The spacious lower level houses a formal dining room, den, and game area with wood pillars and exposed beam ceilings.  The apartment, packed with high-end home amenities, has a fitness centre, a cutting-edge security system, a snowmelt system, a wet bar, and underfloor heating. This house was indeed an escape away from reality for Cruise.

Tom Cruise House: 10 Facts through Architect's Lens - Sheet5

Architects of Grandeur | Tom Cruise House

An average family of 2-4 people requires 140-240 sq. m of space to lead a comfortable life. Tom Cruise’s houses have a main structure that is 930 sq. m on average, which is over 4-5 times the size of the typical home. While the size of a typical garden is approximately half an acre, Tom Cruise’s Colorado Ranch was a whopping 230 acres!

What makes the area of his houses so grand? The size of the house ultimately increases as more spacious areas like bedrooms , bathrooms, living rooms, kitchens, and various spaces for entertainment and comfort are added. Anthropometrically speaking, designing large spaces is in itself a challenge, too– making sure the distance between two points is convenient yet grand, practical yet impressive, and in the end, user-friendly. For example– the working triangle of the kitchen is not disrupted due to larger spaces, and the distance between a bedroom, bathroom, and a walk-in closet is reasonable.

Real Estate as an Investment

Tom Cruise purchased several houses in order to live comfortably, but he also sold them for a profit when he no longer required the property, demonstrating his investment in real estate as a source of revenue. He paid $30.5 million for his Beverly Hills property, which he then sold for $38 million nearly a decade later. Furthermore, he purchased his west Sussex mansion for $4.2 million and sold it for $6.2 million. Additionally, he sold off his Colorado ranch and Hollywood Hills villa for sums of $39.5 million and $11.4 million, respectively. This shows that the real estate market has the potential for high returns on investments in the long run.

Lush, Lavish, and Luxurious | Tom Cruise House

Built with a gorgeous classical European facade– the Beverly Hills mansion is spread over a land of 1.3 acres offering a living space of 930 sq.m –consisting of seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms. It also has a spacious backyard, pool, tennis and basketball courts, multiple guest houses, and a large playground for children. There is a lovely connection to nature evident across the exteriors. A beautiful facade is displayed by the simplicity and blend of green, white, and grey colours. This house undoubtedly offered the privacy Tom needed due to its lush surroundings and high walls.

Privacy is Power

When you look at Tom Cruise’s houses, you’ll see that they all share the trait of being incredibly secluded and having few neighbours. After having their entire life talked about, celebrities prefer their isolation and the freedom from dealing with their neighbours. For instance, the Colorado Ranch is tucked away among mountains in a rural area, and Beverly Hills Mansion is situated in a quiet area far from the limelight, giving the actor a relaxing environment to enjoy with his family and/or on his own.

Another question is whether this has an impact on the site’s accessibility. It sure does. In reality, anyone who can afford a million-dollar home is likely to afford a driver and a vehicle for their convenience– accessibility being the least of their concerns.

Spatial Arrangement

A lovely arrangement of spaces can be seen in Tom Cruise’s houses. All of his homes feature spacious gardens and backyards , tennis and basketball courts, a fitness centre, a home theatre, a game room, a hot tub, numerous bedrooms and baths, a chef’s kitchen, guest rooms, and numerous terraces, which not only make a beautiful place to live in but also offer a wonderful connect to nature.

Traditional Meets Modern: A beautiful blend | Tom Cruise House

The 14-acre mega-mansion known as Rede Place (the West Sussex estate) boasts beautiful interiors of 1050 square meters. It displays a blend of traditional and modern design, displaying dramatic patterns, gabled roofs, and large windows. The home perfectly combines the best features of both worlds, from coffered ceilings to natural timber accents, from zoned dramatic lighting to integrated sound systems. The vast area is split between the main home and a guest pavilion, with 8 bedrooms and five bathrooms. A large dance studio, a movie theatre, and other amenities can be found in the basement, while the master suite and a separate sitting area are on the top floor. There is a tennis court, a hot tub, and a pool in the exteriors.

Tom Cruise House: 10 Facts through Architect's Lens - Sheet4

Life in the Big Apple

Some of Cruise’s earlier properties were purchased in New York City, his birthplace. Tom resided in a 200 sq.m unit in an apartment building, which is quite the opposite of his now enormous and secluded home. This must be Tom Cruise’s simplest house, with only two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a gym.

Fabulous Florida | Tom Cruise House

His most recent and current residence is that of a multimillion-dollar penthouse in Florida. This 10-story structure, also known as the “Sky View” building, offers approximately 36 residences, with Tom Cruise residing on the top 2 floors– offering stunning views at all times. The residence features four bedrooms, a gym, a game room, a home cinema , a roof deck with an infinity pool, a hot tub, gardens, and a bar. This building, which is not far from the Church of Scientology headquarters, was created by fellow Scientologist Moises Agami. Cruise has also been a proud member of this Church.

Over the years, Tom Cruise has had a number of gorgeous properties, some with stunning architectural characteristics that range from classical to modern. Tom Cruise’s houses have it all, with gorgeous interiors and exteriors and a brilliant connection to nature. In the end, what everyone wants to do is go home to a comfortable and relaxing place because, after all there’s no place like home.

Gina Gershon appeared on “Watch What Happens Live” and was asked by host Andy Cohen if she ever hooked up with Tom Cruise . The two actors starred together in 1988’s “Cocktail,” where Gershon remembered nearly breaking Cruise’s nose during the filming of a sex scene. The moment just so happened to be Gershon’s first time shooting a love scene in a movie. The actor said Cruise “totally” took care of her while filming.

The actor said on the  “It Happened in Hollywood” podcast that her agents told her specifically that she “can’t play a lesbian” because it would tank her Hollywood career.

“It was a great script and I could tell they were incredible directors, but my agents were like, ‘We will not let you do this movie. You are ruining your career. You will never work again,’” Gershon said, adding that her agents said they could no longer represent her if she took the part.

KATIE Holmes has reportedly bought a $24,000 playhouse for her daughter that comes complete with running water and electricity.

The Grand Victorian Playhouse, created by Sweet Retreat Kids, comes with adaptable lighting, a sun room, an eat-in-kitchen and a media room, the Daily Mail reports.

The two-storey structure can be customised to include a garage, picket fence and its own landscaping.

Intercoms can connect the playhouse to the main house.

Suri's garage is not expected to stay empty for long, according to The Sun. Holmes has apparently splashed out on a $9,700 children's Mercedes along with an iPad mini and a designer fur coat this Christmas.

Inside Suri's playhouse

Not to be outdone by his ex-wife, Tom Cruise has reportedly bought a $13.5 million house in upstate New York that can accommodate another of his daughter's Christmas presents - a pony.

Inside Suri's playhouse

"Tom is determined to make this the best Christmas ever," an insider told British magazine Grazia.

"Obviously there isn't anywhere to keep a pony at Katie's apartment, so this place is ideal. It also has space for her toys, many of which have been in storage since Katie quit their LA mansion."

Gossip websites speculated that the playhouse would likely end up in the garden of the new house.

For more than 25 years, the  Top Gun actor  has retreated to his vacation home in Colorado, but this winter the star will be staying elsewhere, as he sold the custom-designed estate this week. According to The Wall Street Journal , the four-bedroom house fetched the full asking price after just two weeks on the market.

TOM Cruise is living the high life in London while filming the new Mission: Impossible - staying in a two-storey penthouse in the incredible Corinthia Hotel.

The movie star's £335,000-a-month rental is in a block of 12 luxury apartments previously owned by The Queen - and is just down the road from 10 Downing Street.

The idyllic four-bedroom penthouse boasts a huge roof terrace with breath-taking views of the River Thames and the London Eye.

The stunning outdoor entertaining space also features an sleek firepit, chic white all-weather furniture and a life-size chess set should he get bored of London's skyline.

The apartment has four large bathrooms, which are lavishly decorated with Calacatta marble, mirrored sinks and vanities.

After a long day on set, Tom can relax in one of the three living rooms with neutral-coloured walls and sofas.

The three spaces, which boast lots of natural light, featured dark wood coffee tables and eye-catching pendant lighting.

Following an evening unwinding at home, Tom can venture up his spiral staircase to rest his head in the lavish master bedroom.

The room is most definitely a calming space and a relaxing colour palette of greys and whites.

The penthouse also has access to the Corinthia Hotel and all its incredible amenities including its luxurious spa with indoor pool.

The bedrooms sport muted decor for a restful night's sleep

Tom can treat himself to spa treatments spread over four floors and can indulge in a spot of retail therapy at the hotel's own boutique version of Harrods or dinner at top chef Tom Kerridge's restaurant.

The Sun revealed earlier this week that five staff had quit the new Mission: Impossible film after he erupted on the set for a second time .

Over the weekend,  the actor let rip after two crew breached Covid rules by standing too close together .

Another eruption followed on Tuesday night as news of his rant emerged.

One room has a trendy semi-circular sofa and eye-catching art

A source said: "The first outburst was big but things haven’t calmed since. Tension has been building for months and this was the final straw. Since it became public there has been more anger and several staff have walked.

"But  Tom  just can’t take any more after all the lengths they have gone to just to keep filming at all. He’s upset others aren’t taking it as seriously as him. In the end, he’s the one who carries the can."

Delays have blighted the franchise’s seventh instalment.

The Sun revealed earlier this week that five stars had quit the film after he erupted on the set

Cruise, 58,  who plays Ethan Hunt  and is a producer, has pumped a fortune into Covid measures including hiring a cruise ship so staff can isolate.

In October, he held crisis talks with director Christopher McQuarrie days  after 12 people on set in Italy were said to have tested positive .

Since returning to the UK two weeks ago,  Cruise has been pictured wearing a mask on set .

In his first rant, he warned the 50-strong crew they’d be "f***ing gone" if they ignored guidelines.

Tom Cruise jumps off Paris stadium roof as part of Olympic Games ceremonial handoff to Los Angeles for 2028

The 2024 Paris Olympic Games are officially closed and Los Angeles is on deck for the next summer event in 2028. The closing ceremony took place at the Stade de France on Sunday and was filled with exciting performances, wild stunts and surprise guests.

One of the most surprising and jaw dropping moments of the event was when actor Tom Cruise descended from the roof, into the crowd and held up the Olympic flag. As H.E.R. played guitar, standing beside Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, Olympic gymnast Simone Biles passed the Olympic flag to Cruise to symbolize the Olympic handoff to the Los Angeles 2028 Games.

Cruise took his motorcycle, with the Olympic flag on the back, on a military cargo plane, in a scene that looked like it could've been right out of the "Mission: Impossible" film franchise. After that, he was shown skydiving into L.A., transforming the OO of the Hollywood sign into the bottom of the Olympic rings logo. The montage took us to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, which was one site of the Games when the city served as host in 1984 and 1932.

American skateboarder Jagger Eaton skated with the Olympic flag, taking it to one of Southern California's iconic beaches where the Red Hot Chili Peppers were performing "Can't Stop."

Following the Red Hot Chili Peppers performance, Billie Eilish took an adjacent stage to perform. We all know Olympics unofficial ambassador Snoop Dogg wouldn't miss an opportunity to get in front of a crowd, and he did performing his classic hit "Drop It Like It's Hot."

In a full Olympic ring outfit, he was later joined by Dr. Dre and the two California natives performed "The Next Episode." The event was complete with color cannons firing off the Olympic colors amid and picture-perfect California beach scene.

Meanwhile, back in Paris, Alain Roche played the Hymn to Apollo on a piano suspended in the air, with opera singer Benjamin Bernheim.

The closing ceremony including many performances, including French musicians Thomas Mars, Angèle, Cambodian rapper Vannda, French duo Air and French band Phoenix.

The torch, carried by star French swimmer Leon Marchand, was extinguished and the 2024 Olympic Games were officially declared closed.

Yseult, a French R&B singer, performed "Comme d'habitude," which was later adapted to "My Way" by Frank Sinatra.

French rugby star and flag bearer Antoine Dupont passed a French flag to Paralympic track and field runner Nantenin Keita, to symbolize Paris' switch to host the Paralympics Games, from Aug. 28 to Sept. 8.

The event concluded with a fireworks display over the stadium.

As far as the Games that just concluded, the United States won 126 medals than any other nation, but shared the lead in gold medals with China at 40 each.

Tom Cruise's Political Play: From Hollywood to the White House

Tom cruise's foray into politics and power dynamics in hollywood..

description: an anonymous man in a sharp suit, surrounded by a crowd of onlookers, gestures confidently as he navigates a room filled with political figures. his intense gaze and charismatic presence hint at a deeper connection to the world of power and influence.

Tom Cruise, one of Hollywood's most well-known movie stars, recently made headlines for his unexpected political maneuvers. Known for his death-defying stunts in movies like the Mission: Impossible series, Cruise showcased his knack for high-stakes drama in the real world as well. From rubbing shoulders with Russian socialites with political ties to showing support for fired agents, Cruise's political presence has been felt in various arenas.

Tom Cruise will reportedly bring his penchant for death-defying stunts to the Paris Olympics closing ceremony on Sunday. However, his actions off-screen have also been garnering attention. In a recent incident in the U.K., Cruise stumbled into the world of politics, causing a stir in the already murky waters of power dynamics. His unexpected involvement led to speculation about his potential influence in political circles.

LONDON — It was nearly the weirdest crossover episode ever. Hollywood megastar Tom Cruise briefly stumbled into the murky world of U.K. politics, sparking rumors and intrigue. With his larger-than-life persona and penchant for thrilling stunts, Cruise's foray into politics has left many wondering about his true intentions and potential impact on the political landscape.

Stay updated on the latest developments in Cruise's political journey and how they intersect with the broader political landscape.

The Mission: Impossible series is burdened by none of the hamfisted politicking that drags down every other blockbuster. Tom Cruise, the star of the franchise, is known for his dedication to his craft and his willingness to take on daring challenges. His political maneuverings have added a new layer of complexity to his public persona, leaving fans and critics alike intrigued by his next move.

Tom Cruise would be a perfect fit for Hollywood's Golden Age. The “Top Gun: Maverick” star isn't as suave as Cary Grant, and he lacks Jimmy Stewart's boy-next-door charm, but his political exploits have added a modern twist to his classic Hollywood appeal. Cruise's ability to navigate the complex world of politics while maintaining his status as a Hollywood icon is a testament to his versatility as an actor and public figure.

A new peer's introduction to the House of Lords is briefly sidelined as a mobile phone's ringtone is heard. The distraction is quickly forgotten as Tom Cruise's name is mentioned in connection with a new political controversy, drawing attention away from the mundane proceedings of the political institution.

Cruise's reported new love interest is Russian socialite Elsina Khayrova, whose father is a political supporter of Putin and whose connections have raised eyebrows in political circles. Cruise's romantic entanglements have added a new dimension to his political persona, sparking speculation about his potential ties to powerful figures in Russian politics.

Tom Cruise showed support to his longtime agent, Maha Dakhil, after she was fired from her job for voicing her opinion on an ongoing political issue. Cruise's loyalty to his associates and his willingness to stand up for what he believes in have cemented his reputation as a Hollywood star with a political conscience.

Tom Cruise's Stunts Are Costing Hollywood A Ridiculous Amount Of Money

  • Tom Cruise's impressive stunts may thrill fans, but they come with a hefty price tag and financial risks behind the scenes.
  • His latest Olympic stunt cost an additional $70 million and halted production for nine weeks, showing the potential consequences.
  • Cruise's dedication to doing his own stunts not only impacts film budgets, but also highlights his unique approach to filmmaking.

He has a net worth of $600 million, yet Tom Cruise remains hungrier than ever before. He was the talk of the Olympics closing ceremony, suspended in the air as millions were watching in awe at home. In truth, stunts are cool to watch, but they also come with insane costs behind the scenes.

Not only is the prep and training expensive, but if an accident is to take place, lawsuits and reshoots can further complicate things, especially from a financial standpoint. Although fans know and love Cruise for his stunts, the actor has put Hollywood in a tough spot in the past because of it.

Let's take a closer look at the impact of Tom's stunts from a financial standpoint, and other problems that emerged.

Simone Biles Was Almost Responsible For Unintentionally Reuniting Tom Cruise And Nicole Kidman After 23 Years

Celebs were all over Simone Biles' return to the Olympics, and that included exes Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman.

Tom Cruise's Stunt Injury During Mission: Impossible Ballooned The Budget To $250 Million (Added $70 Million)

At the age of 62, Tom Cruise is still in the headlines for his stunts. This time, he took things to the next level, performing a stunt at one of the biggest stages in the world at the Olympic Games. The moment was one fans won't ever forget. However, we can only imagine the planning that went into it, along with the costs attached. Yes, the stunts are great to watch, but they don't come cheap either. Tom knows all about that...

Let's not forget, there's a major risk involved in every stunt Tom Cruise takes on. During Mission: Impossible–Fallout (2018), production stopped for nine weeks. Suddenly, the budget went up to $70 million! Which is a massive budget in itself for a film alone. That's really what you get when it comes to Tom Cruise and his films. The actor does things his way, even with massive risks involved. During Mission Impossible—Dead Reckoning Part I (2023), the film adjusted to the risk. Cruise's dangerous motorcycle stunt was filmed at the start in fear it would skyrocket the budget near the end of the film.

Variety wrote, If production on the $200 million-plus tentpole was already underway and Cruise got severely injured or died because of the motorcycle stunt, then a lot of money wouldve been wasted.

Then there's the training involved and the cost of that part of it. Cruise's films tend to be extremely expensive and, some might say, over-budget.

Tom Cruise told Jimmy Fallon his worst injury came from kicking a co-star in his private area.

Fans Are Encountering Tom Cruise And The Olympics, And Reaction Is Unanimous

Candid photos and videos of Tom Cruise at the Olympics have gone viral on X.

Top Gun: Maverick co-star Miles Teller won't call it over-budget and instead, admits that working with Tom Cruise is no joke , and unlike anything he has ever experienced.

"I think the reason why Tom does this stuff is because when the audience knows that its really you and theres no cutaways, that the level of immersion you get as a viewer, as a voyeur, is elevated. So Im open to it, but also, Ive got injured on some films doing some weird things, and when you have a perfectly good stunt guy, I dont want to put him out of a job, you know? Thats just me being an honest guy," Teller tells CinemaBlend.

On one hand, there's risk, and on the other hand, there's the massive reward that comes with working alongside Tom Cruise. Like Teller revealed, it involves getting out of your comfort zone, while the box office numbers usually make up for that budget.

Tom Cruise Is Instead Taking A Stand Against Hollywood For Different Reasons

Tom Cruise has his own bone to pick with Hollywood. Nevermind the actor's stunts, instead, Cruise has concerns of his own over the future of the industry. So much so that Cruise joined SAG-AFTRA discussing the future of AI in Hollywood. Cruise was looking for new guideline in TV and film for AI use, along with performers getting compensated if the tech is used. Cruise also demanded consent for AI content being used.

Google was forced to remove an AI commercial at the Olympics given the backlash it received from fans and media.

Tom Cruise Gladly Paid The Bill For Bella's Wedding, But The Groom's Mom Revealed A Strange Detail

The groom's mother admitted she didn't get much time with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman ahead of Bella and Max's wedding.

Fans were able to rejoice as Keanu Reeves shares the same concerns . Keanu Reeves himself admits he won't do a film that features deepfakes.

"Early on, in the early 2000s, or it might have been the ’90s, I had a performance changed,” Reeves recalled with Wired. “They added a tear to my face, and I was just like, ‘Huh?!’ It was like, ‘I don’t even have to be here.'”

He added, “What’s frustrating about that is you lose your agency. When you give a performance in a film, you know you’re going to be edited, but you’re participating in that. If you go into deepfake land, it has none of your points of view. That’s scary. It’s going to be interesting to see how humans deal with these technologies. They’re having such cultural, sociological impacts, and the species is being studied. There’s so much ‘data’ on behaviors now.”

Along with the concerns, use of AI and deepfakes can also be very costly behind the scenes, and another way of skyrocketing costs for a film.

Tom Cruise's knee injury may have changed the course of his life, leading him to become a Hollywood actor instead of a professional wrestler. Although it may have been an unforeseen obstacle, this event served as a major turning point in his life and ultimately helped him become one of the world's most well known and celebrated artists. With the majority of his movies grossing over $100 million at the box office and diligently getting so into his roles that he even impresses and outperforms other actors by doing his own stunts , Tom Cruise is a superstar.

Early Life/Education

Born July 3, 1962, Tom Cruise grew up as the third child and only son of Thomas Cruise Mapother III and Mary Lee Pfeiffer. He has three sisters named Lee Anne, Marian, and Cass Mapother. Due to his father's job as an electrical engineer, they moved around frequently and lived in different places, such as Ottawa, Louisville, Kentucky, and Wayne, New Jersey. Eventually, they settled in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, where Tom's mother remarried a man named Joseph South after her divorce from Tom's father.

After graduating in 1980, to give himself a more trendy public persona, Thomas Cruise Mapother IV changed his name to Tom Cruise . He put in a lot of effort as a table cleaner, butler, and bus boy to support himself.

He used some of his earnings to study drama at the esteemed Neighborhood Playhouse, where he was instructed by renowned acting teachers Phil Gushee and Sanford Meisner. As he developed his abilities, he started doing auditions for parts and eventually got one in the musical "Godspell."

Tom Cruise's breakthrough role came in Risky Business, which garnered a lot of attention from people due to his performance and good looks. Prior to that, he had starred in the comedy film "Losin' It" in 1983.

Then, after delivering a standout performance in

All the Right Moves, he earned an unofficial place among the Brat Pack, a group of up-and-coming actors expected to dominate Hollywood in the early 1980s, as dubbed by the media. The original group consisted of Emilio Estevez, Anthony Michael Hall, Rob Lowe, Andrew McCarthy, Demi Moore, Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald, and Ally Sheedy.

In 1984, Tom Cruise received his first Golden Globe Award nomination for his outstanding performance in a comedy or musical motion picture. Two years later, he gained immense popularity and success when he starred in Top Gun as Lt. Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell, which became a box-office hit and made Tom Cruise a household name worldwide.

By carefully selecting only challenging projects, Tom Cruise has made a conscious effort to maintain his career in the film industry. His roles in The Color of Money, Rain Man, and Born on the Fourth of July demonstrate his dedication to more intricate and demanding characters.

Tom Cruise didnt slow down either, next came Cocktail (1988), Days of Thunder (1990), and Far and Away (1992). Cruise then made a pivot in his career and did A Few Good Men (1992). This showed a different side of the actor, and the film went on to gain commercial success and garner praise from critics.

After The Firm (1993), Tom played the character of Lestat, a vampire, in the film adaptation of Anne Rice's best-selling novel Interview with the Vampire (1994). In 1996, Tom Cruise made his debut as a film producer with "Mission: Impossible," in which he also starred. He followed this up with a role in "Jerry Maguire" alongside Cuba Gooding Jr. and Renee Zellweger.

During the 2000s, Cruise appeared in several action-packed films.

He starred in Steven Spielberg's thrilling sci-fi movie Minority Report (2002), as well as The Last Samurai (2003), where he portrayed a dissatisfied American soldier who joined forces with a samurai society. Additionally, he played the role of an unyielding hitman in the gritty Los Angeles-based movie Collateral (2004).

Cruise starred in action thrillers Knight and Day (2010) and Jack Reacher (2012), playing a former army investigator. He reprised his role in Jack Reacher: Never Go Back (2016). Cruise also appeared in Rock of Ages (2012), Obligation (2013), Edge of Tomorrow (2014), The Mummy (2017), and Top Gun: Maverick (2022).

Business Ventures

His success as an actor is not solely responsible for his wealth, as he has also produced multiple films. This sets him apart from other wealthy actors in the industry. In 1993, Cruise and Paula Wagner founded Cruise/Wagner Productions, which has since generated $3 billion globally through its films.

However, their exclusive deal with Paramount ended in 2006 after Tom's controversial comments regarding psychiatry and anti-depressants caused a stir within the industry.

Hedge funds and Dan Snyder, the founder of Washington Redskins, have been providing funding for the studio since then. United Artists recruited Paula and Tom in 2006 to revive the struggling studio. Even though Paula left UA in 2008, she and Tom still possess a 30% stake in the studio.

Personal Life

Tom Cruise has quite an extensive relationship timeline:

Cher, Mimi Rogers, and Nicole Kidman, who he married and adopted two children with. After they divorced, he dated Penelope Cruise and Nazanin Boniadi. Tom married Katie Holmes in 2005, they had a daughter, Suri. In 2012 they divorced. Tom Cruise hasnt been too active in the dating market since then, however he has been rumored to have recently been dating Shakira.

Tom Cruise is worth $600 million , which shouldnt be a surprise given the fact he has acted in roughly 55 movies and directs some of them too.

Tom Cruise is a well-known advocate for Scientology, but his philanthropic efforts extend far beyond that. He has been involved in numerous causes such as adoption, fostering, orphans, AIDS and HIV, children's issues, creative arts, diabetes, disaster relief, education, family/parent support, grief support, health initiatives, human rights advocacy, literacy programs, poverty reduction efforts, and anti-slavery and human trafficking campaigns.

Controversy

The biggest controversy surrounding Cruise is mainly due to Scientology. In 2005 for example, he criticized Brooke Shields, and basically anyone else, who used antidepressants. There has been a lot of other back and forth commentary due to his religion as well.

Another alarming fact is that Tom Cruise admitted during a 1999 appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman , a story about a flying experience where he and his co-pilot ran out of oxygen while flying to Colorado. To avoid any danger, Cruise and his co-pilot turned off the oxygen supply for the plane's other passenger so that they could continue their flight safely. He laughed about it, but David Letterman was appalled.

  • Fans speculate that Tom Cruise's recent youthful appearance may be a result of plastic surgery rumors he has denied in the past.
  • Experts suggest that Cruise's efforts to maintain his youthful looks may be taking a toll on his appearance and looking unnatural.
  • Recent shirtless photos of Tom Cruise have sparked discussions among plastic surgeons about the possibility of liposuction procedures.

Tom Cruise has been defying two things throughout his career — death during those costly daredevil stunts and aging. But fans have been worried about the latter in the last few years. In October 2021, the Interview with the Vampire alum was seen looking puffy and bloated, with people calling him a "chipmunk". By May 2022, he appeared to be his youthful self again.

The 62-year-old Mission Impossible star has recently been the subject of plastic surgery rumors, which he's previously denied . Ahead of Cruise's viral appearance at the Paris Olympics , an insider also claimed that his efforts to look young have "taken a toll on his looks,"and experts agree . Apparently, the actor's recent shirtless pictures show signs of some cosmetic procedures...

Tom Cruise's Expensive Anti-Aging Treatments Have Taken A Toll On His Appearance

Tom cruise's face has been "sagging" and "collapsing".

Tom Cruise's Beauty Routines Has Taken A Toll On His "Collapsing" Face

In May, an insider expressed concerns about Cruise's "sagging" and "collapsing" face, claiming that he'd overdone his anti-aging treatments. " Tom's had all these surgeries and other beauty rituals that have taken a toll on his looks to the point where his face is collapsing and sagging in weird places ," the source told InTouch , adding that "people are begging him to stop trying to look younger and telling him to accept it and age gracefully. But that's not his style."

They then addressed his "unnatural" transformation from that puffy face in 2021, saying: "A couple of years ago, he was so puffy that people were comparing him to a chipmunk. But now it's the opposite — all the extra volume is gone, so his skin is drooping and unfortunately it doesn't just look like normal aging, it looks really unnatural."

One of the reasons the Edge of Tomorrow star "spends a fortune" trying to keep his youthful looks is that "he's convinced that with the right procedure he can turn back the clock again," according to the insider. " He's researching the latest rejuvenation techniques and putting a lot of hope on things like stem cells and lasers ."

But they added that "the fear is he could wind up permanently scarred. He always seems to go overboard and ends up looking pillow-faced — he doesn't look like himself anymore!"

"Tom may never admit [getting plastic surgery], but the truth is written all over his face."

Tom Cruise had procedures for his unaligned and discolored teeth, which were noticeable in the 1980s.

Experts Say Tom Cruise Has Had Liposuction Despite Working Out And Healthy Diet

Tom cruise's recent shirtless photo had people talking.

Experts Say Tom Cruise Has Had Liposuction Despite Working Out And Healthy Diet

Plastic surgeons quickly weighed in on Cruise's physique after going viral for his shirtless photos back in May. Some say the loose skin on his torso indicates peck implants and liposuction . "Usually, if you lose weight naturally over time, you get less of that skin rippling and irregularity, because it's gradual," said Dr. David Hill from Chicago . "With liposuction, because it's more immediate, the skin doesn't have time to contract as much."

"Tom's Cruise's saggy skin could be a hallmark of [liposuction]," Dr. Hill concluded.

Howwever, the plastic surgeon noted that the liposuction was done well . "I don't see any hallmarks of irregular contour on his body that would suggest bad liposuction, but there is enhanced muscle definition, which is reflective of his earlier photos when he was younger," explained Dr. Hill. "If they did it, they did it well."

But for cosmetic dermatologic surgeon, Dr. Howard Sobel, Cruise's saggy skin still passes as natural sign of aging . "In any 61-year-old guy you would expect to have some skin sagging, because as we get older, we lose that elasticity in our skin," said the New York-based expert.

"The areas of your chest, and the areas below your chest, the skin around your ribs and your abs are very often the first to lose the elasticity, especially in a man," he added.

Tom Cruise Looked Puffy And Bloated Again During His Paris Olympics Stunt

A plastic surgeon said tom cruise likely had a facelift.

Fans couldn't help but focus on Cruise's "puffy" and "bloated" face during his Mission Impossible -style stunt at the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics (pictured above). "I wondered how long it would take Tom Cruise to resort to extreme plastic surgery. I got my answer," one wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Some even likened Cruise's "new face" to his deformed prosthetic face in Vanilla Sky . According to Dr. Kshem Yapa, the original Brat Pack member looks like he might have gotten a facelift recently . "As we age, two things happen — we develop skin laxity, so the face droops and you see deeper nose-to-mouth lines, jowls and a loose neck," the expert told The Daily Mail .

"We also lose volume, from around the temples and mid face, which can lead to a more gaunt appearance," Dr. Yapa continued. "A facelift moves the facial tissue back into their more youthful position, while fat — taken from elsewhere in the body, usually the stomach or flanks, and placed into the face using tiny injections — supplements lost volume."

The cosmetic surgeon, who specializes in facelift, also discussed the downsides of getting a facelift, which Cruise might have experienced . "But those fat grafts will still behave like stomach fat, even in the face," said Dr. Yapa. "So we warn patients if they put on weight, they'll put it on in their face quite visibly. You also have to be judicious in how much you graft into the face, for this reason."

Overdone facelifts result in "a puffy, mask-like appearance where the mid-face doesn't move."

It took over a year to plan Tom Cruise's stunt for the Paris Olympics closing ceremony.
