The warner bros. studio will transform into stars hollow from ‘gilmore girls’ this holiday season.

T o Gilmore Girls fans, the town of Stars Hollow might feel like an out-of-reach utopia, but now they can actually visit it in real life. No, this doesn’t just mean you can visit a town that looks like Stars Hollow or is renovated to mimic it. The Warner Bros. Studio Tour in Hollywood will transform into Stars Hollow for the holiday season, with all the original sets and props. That means Luke’s Diner, Stars Hollow High School, Lorelai’s house, and the town gazebo will all be there. Props like Lorelai’s jeep, and Lorelai and Rory’s wardrobes, are also still intact.

The main town square, including the gazebo, has always been viewable by taking the studio tour, but the sets have been repurposed dozens of times, so it never fully felt like the real Stars Hollow. For this event, though, the sets will be decorated specifically to replicate Stars Hollow at Christmas — twinkle lights and all. Now, considering the studio tour is in Los Angeles instead of Connecticut, it probably won’t be covered in snow — but you never know what movie magic the studio will pull out.

Fans of the show know that the only way to tour Stars Hollow right is while munching on junk food, so the tour will provide plenty of snacks (and, of course, coffee coffee coffee) along the way.

Garo Soloff, Director of Marketing at Warner Bros. Studio Tour, said in a press release , “Gilmore Girls touched the hearts of so many fans and spans generations. This holiday season, our guests will enjoy a one-of-a-kind fan experience as they tour the iconic Warner Bros. backlot that will be transformed into the majestic town of Stars Hollow.”

Warner Bros.’ “Holidays Made Here” returns for the 2022 holiday season, bringing the world of “Gilmore Girls” to life in Burbank, California. After the event was canceled for two years for COVID-19 safety, fans of the show will be able to participate in the guided tour around Warner Bros. studio from Dec. 22 to Jan. 1.

According to an official release from Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood, the Christmastime tour will whisk guests to the Midwest Street Backlot, where “Gilmore Girls” was filmed for seven seasons. Featuring a fully-decorated set, costumes and props, guests can ring in the holidays while exploring Stars Hollow, the fictional town where “Gilmore Girls” takes place.

Visitors will be able to visit major locations from the show, including Luke’s Diner, Lorelai’s house, the Stars Hollow town sign and much more. Guests may also find pop-up shops in the town, with festive “Gilmore Girls” merchandise exclusive to the “Holidays Made Here” event. Hot coffee and Poptarts will be available for Stars Hollow visitors, as well as photo opportunities around the town.

Stars Hollow, Connecticut, isn’t the only place guests will visit, Warner Bros. wrote. Fans of the hit TV sitcom “Friends” can travel to Stage 48, where the Friends Boutique and Central Perk Café will be decked out for the holiday season. The Holiday Armadillo costume — a gag from the show — will be on display for Central Perk patrons, the area features authentic costumes and props from the series.

“Holidays Made Here” will guide guests through the sets of other favorite Christmas films, such as “Elf” and “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.” KTLA reported that the Warner Bros. crew is excited to have guests back at the studio this holiday season.

“After two years of missing out on celebrating the holidays with our Warner Bros. fans, we are thrilled to have guests back on the lot for “Holidays Made Here,” said Danny Kahn, vice president and general manager of Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood. “This event will be a must-see for fans, and we can’t wait to share the magic of exploring Stars Hollow with everyone during the holiday season.”

Tours will run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 22 to Jan. 1., with the exception of Christmas Day. Tickets are available on the Warner Bros. website , with access to the “Holidays Made Here” event included in every ticket package.

And few television series have boasted a beautiful burg like Stars Hollow, the charming, gazebo'd hamlet at the sparkly center of "Gilmore Girls."

Stars Hollow was set in Connecticut, but Luke's Diner, Mrs. Kim's Antiques, and the other storied structures of the close-knit village were located on Midwest Street, found on the legendary Warner Bros. Studio backlot.

The Stars Hollow sign will be erected for "Holidays Made Here," and a number of photo opps will pop up around the sweetly realized, oh-so-strollable area. And merchandise created for the cozy celebration?

That, too, will be for sale in pop-up shops dotting the backlot.

As has been a tradition with the popular tours in recent years, a peek around Stage 48 concludes the outing.

An array of iconic artifacts from both television and films on dazzling display, a gift shop brimming with tees, toys, and more, and the "Friends"-inspired Central Perk coffee bar are all found within the sizable structure.

The Warner Bros. Studio in Hollywood is transforming into Stars Hollow from 'Gilmore Girls' for thei...

The Gilmore Girls Holiday Pop-Up Features Real Stars Hollow Sets

Oy with the poodles already — this experience begins Dec. 22.

There’s no better place to spend the holidays than Stars Hollow. Just like Lorelai Gilmore, you may love the wintertime and can “smell snow” before the first flake even falls. To get you into the Gilmore Girls spirit, celebrate the holidays in Stars Hollow at the Gilmore Girls holiday pop-up from Warner Bros. Studio, which features real sets, costumes, and props from the series.

While the fictional Stars Hollow may be located in Connecticut, the Warner Bros. Studio in Hollywood is home to the actual set where Lorelai, Rory, Sookie, and Luke lived. On a typical Warner Bros. Studio Tour, you get to travel through the backlot and see where they filmed Gilmore Girls and even Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. Hardcore fans could recognize the gazebo and even an empty Luke’s Diner anywhere, but for the holidays, Warner Bros. Studio is transforming the set to look like Stars Hollow once again. Not only can you snap some pictures in front of the Stars Hollow and Luke’s Diner signs, but you can also grab a cup of coffee or Lorelai’s favorite Pop-Tarts as you stroll around.

If this sounds about as dreamy as Rory’s dreams of getting into college, you may just want to round up all your Gilmore Girls fans to visit the Warner Bros. Studio this December.

When Is The Holidays Made Here Gilmore Girls Pop-Up?

The Holidays Made Here event is being added to all Warner Bros. Studio tours happening Dec. 22 to Jan. 1, 2023. While the studio will be closed on Dec. 25, you and your fam or besties can enjoy this limited time Gilmore Girls experience leading up to Christmas and the new year. Since this is included in all tours, you also don’t have to buy an extra ticket to immerse yourself in Stars Hollow.

What’s Happening In Stars Hollow During Holidays Made Here?

As part of your tour, you’ll get to walk around the Midwest Street Backlot — aka Stars Hollow — at the Warner Bros. Studio. For this event, the fictional town will be decorated for the season and OG Gilmore Girls sets will be available for you to see with some of the actual props and costumes from the show on display. This is truly an Insta-worthy experience and you’ll want to snap a pic on the iconic gazebo where Luke and Lorelai finally said “I do.” You can also take a selfie in front of the Stars Hollow town sign and with Lorelai and Rory’s Bjork Snowman.

As you take a walk around town, you’ll be able to see Luke’s Diner, Lorelai’s house, Mrs. Kim’s Antiques, and even Doose’s Market where Dean kissed Rory in aisle three — a “good aisle,” according to Lane.

Along with an Instagram photo sesh, you can also grab food from the Gilmore Girls pop-up. There will be tasty treats like Pop-Tarts, and of course, coffee. It wouldn’t be a proper Gilmore Girls day without coffee! And it wouldn’t be a proper Warner Bros. Studio Tour visit without some shopping as well. The Holidays Made Here experience will also have exclusive and festive Gilmore Girls merch for purchase in Stars Hollow that has been created just for this event. You can also shop around in the Friends Boutique and Central Perk Café near to Stars Hollow. Friends fans will appreciate the holiday decor and props that will be on display there, including the infamous Holiday Armadillo costume.

Lorelai was right when she said, “Everything is magical when it snows.” Even though Southern California may not get a lot of snowfall in the winter, you can have the most magical time in Stars Hollow this year.

It's a 'Gilmore Girls' Christmas! Fans Can Now Visit the Real Stars Hollow During the Holidays

Experience a little piece of the fictional town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut, in Burbank, California

Lorelai and Rory lovers can now experience a little piece of Stars Hollow first hand, as the “ Gilmore Girls Holiday” backlot makes its return to Warner Bros. Studios !

Between December 21 and January 5, visitors to the studios in Burbank, California, can visit the real house the mother and daughter called home on the show, which aired from 2000 to 2007 on the WB and CW.

While there, fans can eat lunch (think Pop-Tarts and pizza!) like the famously indulgent mother and daughter — played by Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel respectively — check out some of the show’s real costumes and props, and even enjoy recreated scenes.

Visitors can also stop by the town square and take a picture in their beloved gazebo.

To gain admission, guests will have to pay for either a regular Studio Tour, a Classics Made Here Tour or a Deluxe Tour. Warner Bros. Studios highly suggests booking tickets in advance, and shares that guests will get the best value if they book at www.wbstudiotour.com .

Lunch isn’t included in the cost of the ticket, but you can buy holiday-themed snacks — as well as Lorelai favorites like hamburgers, chicken tenders and hot dogs — on site, and plenty of exclusive Gilmore Girls merchandise. As should be expected, there will also be lots and lots of coffee !

Thinking about taking the warner bros. studio tour to catch a glimpse of stars hollow read about brittany’s experience on the backlot and learn how you can make the most of your studio tour as a gilmore girls fan.

wb tour stars hollow

My Love for Gilmore Girls

The Warner Brothers Lot is home to my favorite TV show, Gilmore Girls. I started watching Gilmore Girls two years ago when it was put on Netflix. From the moment I heard Lorelai beg Luke for more coffee, I was hooked. Once my family started watching the show with me, it made it even more special. My mom is my Lorelai Gilmore and through our relationship, I was able to relate to Lorelai and Rory in a special way. Since staring my Instagram account about the show, named @GilmoreGirlsOnly, last December my fondness for it has grown even more and continues to grow with every post, fan interaction, and experience I have. I am super lucky to live close to Warner Brothers studio and to have had the opportunity to go on their tour three times. With the upcoming release of the Gilmore Girls revival titled, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, I decided to visit the Warner Brothers tour again in December of 2015, when the construction was beginning to take place.

wb tour stars hollow

The Initial Moments of the Tour

The thing that I love most about the Warner Brothers tour is that each visit is a new, unique experience. My main focus for the tour this time was to find as many Gilmore Girls landmarks as I could and to see if I could sneak a peek at the revival construction. I immediately spotted a poster of Rory Gilmore and a behind the scenes photo from season 2 of the show after walking into the lobby and knew from there that my day would be a success. After being separated into multiple groups, I was led to a tram by my tour guide. We introduced ourselves, told him our favorite shows, and explained why we were excited to go on the tour. From there, we were off on our journey through entertainment history. When we finally arrived at Anytown U.S.A. – home to Stars Hollow- I was initially in a state of shock due to the emptiness of the city.

wb tour stars hollow

An Empty Backlot

Luke’s Diner wasn’t a diner. The gazebo was nowhere to be found. The buildings were almost unrecognizable. The town of Stars Hollow was deserted. The fast-talking town was silent. Our tram drove by the empty shop windows. Workers were busy painting the details back into the set: to bring Stars Hollow back to life.

wb tour stars hollow

Star’s Hollow Book Store, Miss Patty’s School of Dance, Doose’s Market, Mrs. Kim’s Antique Shop, and the Church were all visible while on the tour. Although their names were not displayed in the familiar fashion seen on the show, true fans were able to decipher which towns member owned what building.

wb tour stars hollow

The Deception of Television

Television is sneaky. It takes a strip of houses located directly next to a town and makes it appear miles away. As a viewer of the show, you would have never guessed that Sookie St. James’ house was located walking distance from the Church. You also wouldn’t know that Lorelai and Rory Gilmore’s house was directly attached to Sookie’s house; that by walking through one house, you arrived at the other.

wb tour stars hollow

wb tour stars hollow

A Unique Photo-Opportunity

Now, if you did go on the tour and walked into the Gilmore House standing outside you would see two things: 1) an empty space and 2) the stairs that Lorelai and Rory walked down multiple times throughout the series. On the exterior portion of the house, the stairs that the cast walked up and down on to get inside of the house are still there and provide a wonderful photo opportunity where you can recreate some famous scenes from the show.

wb tour stars hollow

My suggestion is using the lawn to recreate when Rory comes home after her fight with Lorelai or using the photo my mom and I replicated to create the perfect mother-daughter moment. Lorelai’s garage, where Help Alien performed and Luke’s boat resided, is still intact and located adjacent to the house. Inside, there is the smallest piece of pink wallpaper from the show that was preserved by the Warner Brothers community. Sadly, my tour did not have the same love for Gilmore Girls as I did, so we could not stay in the vicinity of the house long, but the few minutes I got to stand in the footsteps of Lorelai and Rory Gilmore are moments that I will never forget.

wb tour stars hollow

Top 5 Tips for the WB Tour

  • When you meet your tour guide, let him know that you are a big Gilmore Girls fan.
  • There will most likely be 8-10 strangers on the tour with you. Be loud and speak up to your tour guide so you can have the best experience possible.
  • If you really want to see a specific place, let your tour guide know. For example, in order to see the Gilmore house, I had to yell at my tour guide to stop the tram.
  • For the most accessibility, go on the tour on the weekends.
  • If you want to possibly see a celebrity, go on the tour on the weekdays.

I’ll be back!

The Warner Brothers tour will always be one of my favorite places to go to in Los Angeles and will continue to provide the perfect look into the entertainment business for fans. Attention Gilmore Girls fans, you no longer have to imagine what it would be like to visit the fictional town of Stars Hollow. Warner Brothers is giving fans a chance to step into Amy Sherman-Palladino’s world in Connecticut and visit all of the show's most iconic spots. Yes, you can revisit the local places of Stars Hollow and follow in mother-daughter duo Rory and Lorelai Gilmore’s (Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham) footsteps for a day.

For the second year, Warner Brothers Studio Tour is opening a Gilmore Girls holiday-themed event, which is running from Dec. 21 through Jan. 5 at the backlot in Los Angeles. So, if you’re a Gilmore Girls superfan, get your sassy one-liners ready. Here’s what you need to know about the holiday studio tour.

Visit Stars Hollow IRL for a holiday-themed Gilmore Girls studio tour.

The holidays in Stars Hollow always seemed magical on TV, and now you can visit the set in real-life. While we don’t expect the cold weather, snow, or cast of characters to make an appearance on the studio backlot, your imagination will run wild with the props and set pieces at fans’ disposal.

Get your camera ready, and be prepared to relive some of your favorite scenes, because you and your friends will definitely be snapping a ton of pictures as you walk through the iconic set. Whether you’re looking to visit Sookie’s front porch, or grab a coffee at Luke’s Diner, this tour will surely impress any die-hard fan.

According to the website, you can also book a chance to eat lunch at Lorelai’s house. If you decide to opt out of the holiday-themed meal, you can still tour the house and see classic outfits from the show on display around the many rooms. Basically, this is an opportunity that fans will not want to miss.

Will there be a Season 2 of the Gilmore Girls revival?

After nearly a decade off the air, fans got to return to Stars Hollow in a four-episode Netflix special which wrapped up the beloved series on showrunner Amy's terms. Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life ultimately saw now-writer Rory's return to the small town, telling her mom that she is pregnant. While fans have constantly been yearning for a reboot or a second revival special, nothing has been greenlit at the moment.

In a 2017 interview, Lauren spoke with TVLine about the possibility of a reboot. While she had no word on if she'd ever revive her role as Lorelai again, she did share her idea about which direction the show could go. "To me, what would be a great next step — whenever it is, five years, 10 years — would be a Christmas movie," she said.

For now, we'll just have to continue to binge-watch past seasons with a big cup of coffee in hand.

I visited the Stars Hollow set for a holiday-themed lunch and felt just like a Gilmore girl

  • I visited the Warner Bros. Studio in Burbank, California, on the first day of its special holiday-themed " Gilmore Girls " tour.
  • The tour included a look at some of the most iconic locations from the show, including Lorelai Gilmore's house, Luke's Diner, and the gazebo located in the middle of Stars Hollow.
  • While there, I also enjoyed a festive "Lunch With Lorelai," which consisted of oven-roasted turkey breast and mashed potatoes.
  • I even got the chance to speak with Scott Patterson, who played Luke Danes on the show.
  • The "Gilmore Girls" holiday tour runs until January 5, 2020. You can purchase tickets on the Warner Bros. Studio Tour website, and prices start at $59 for children and $69 for adults.
  • Visit Insider's homepage for more stories.

When I got to the Warner Bros. Studio lot, I felt eager to board the tram that would transport us to Stars Hollow, Connecticut.

When I first arrived at the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank, California, there was a long line of people who had bought tickets for the special "Gilmore Girls" holiday tour .

My tour was set for 2 p.m., and there were about 10 people in my group. As we boarded the tram that would take us to the set of "Gilmore Girls," we all talked about what the experience would be like. Everyone in my group was a huge fan of the show and could not be happier that a holiday-themed tour was taking place almost 20 years after the show premiered.

Along the way, our tour guide mentioned that "Shameless," "The Real," and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" were just a few of the other shows that currently film on the lot.

The tram dropped us off at the entrance of Stars Hollow, and I made my way to a colorful sign that provided directions.

I noticed the colorful sign from a distance and immediately headed straight for it. Our tour guide explained to us that we were free to roam the lot and that we could take a tram back to the pickup area whenever we liked.

The sign directed guests to iconic spots from the show, including Luke's Diner, the town square, and Lorelai Gilmore's house.

wb tour stars hollow

Since we were free to roam on our own, I decided to head to the town square first. It seemed like a lot of people were also choosing to walk in that direction.

The first house I saw as I was walking toward the town square was Sookie St. James' home, which was decked out for the holidays.

wb tour stars hollow

Fans of the show will remember Sookie St. James (played by Melissa McCarthy ) as Lorelai Gilmore's (played by Lauren Graham ) best friend and an excellent chef. Her house, which she shared with her husband Jackson and their two kids, was always known for its laughs and good food.

As I walked by, I noticed that the Gilmore house set was directly attached to Sookie's house, which is something you wouldn't guess from the show.

As I continued walking, I noticed the iconic gazebo right in the middle of the town square. Some of the most memorable moments from "Gilmore Girls" were filmed here.

wb tour stars hollow

The gazebo was decorated with festive garland and traditional nutcrackers, but the set as a whole needed some snow in order to make it really feel like Stars Hollow during Christmas.

I stopped to capture the perfect "Gilmore Girls" moment on the steps of the gazebo.

wb tour stars hollow

The gazebo was one photo opportunity I couldn't miss.

Each building on the lot had a sign in front of it with a description and some fun facts about the location.

wb tour stars hollow

I found it helpful to be able to read about each location.

The description in front of the gazebo said it was "one of the most filmed locations on the studio lot."

Next up, I stopped by Mrs. Kim's antique shop.

wb tour stars hollow

Mrs. Kim (played by Emily Kuroda) was the strict mother of Rory Gilmore's (played by Alexis Bledel ) best friend, Lane Kim (played by Keiko Agena).

According to the description, Mrs. Kim's shop also appeared in an episode of "Friends" ("The One With the Prom Video"), as well as the NBC series "The West Wing."

I stepped inside Mrs. Kim's home to find Scott Patterson, who played Luke Danes on the show, waiting to speak my group.

wb tour stars hollow

My group was guided inside of Mrs. Kim's house for a surprise Q&A with Scott Patterson, who played Luke Danes on the show. Fans planning to visit the set on a future date shouldn't expect to see Patterson, as it was the only day he would be making an appearance.

When asked in what ways Patterson felt like he was similar or different from his character Luke, he replied: "I think we're similar in that we're kind of old-school guys and we're loyal people, we love fiercely."

"We're not anything alike in terms of how much fun I like to have, he's a very uptight guy," Patterson added. "I enjoyed playing him because he was so specific. I love characters that are a little tight because they evoke so much mystery."

Patterson made his way to the gazebo after our discussion to answer more questions from fans.

wb tour stars hollow

Patterson was escorted out of the house and to the gazebo, where many excited fans screamed at the sight of him.

"I love surprising people! Thank you to all the fans attending the 'Gilmore Girls' holiday event yesterday on the Warner Bros. Studio Tour of the Stars Hollow set," Scott wrote in a Facebook post the following day. "Seeing you all is such a joy to me. Much love and Happy Holidays!"

As I continued to explore the town, I couldn't help but feel as though I had actually been transported to the real Stars Hollow.

wb tour stars hollow

I felt like I was actually following in the footsteps of Rory and Lorelai Gilmore. On television, all of these iconic locations appear to be more spread out, but in reality, they're just steps away from each other.

The town felt very real and included a number or recognizable locations, like the church ...

wb tour stars hollow

The church appeared smaller in person.

... Doose's Market ...

wb tour stars hollow

Doose's Market is the only grocery store in Stars Hollow, and it witnessed its fair share of dramatic moments.

... and the infamous Luke's Diner.

wb tour stars hollow

Warner Bros. mentioned that the Luke's Diner photo opportunity was a new addition to the tour. While fans were only allowed to take photos of the exterior, it was still an ideal setting for a dose of nostalgia.

Fans channeled Rory and Lorelai Gilmore in themed outfits.

wb tour stars hollow

A mother and daughter standing in line to take a picture in front of Luke's Diner donned Rory and Lorelai Gilmore-inspired outfits.

I stopped to take a picture in front of the Stars Hollow sign.

wb tour stars hollow

Fans of "Gilmore Girls" will instantly recognize the blue-and-white Stars Hollow sign.

Although the lot did have some holiday props, I would have liked to see more snow in the area since it was a holiday tour.

wb tour stars hollow

The "snow woman" that Rory and Lorelai built for the Stars Hollow snowman contest was front and center.

Visitors could see the entrance of Stars Hollow High School up close.

wb tour stars hollow

Rory Gilmore attended Stars Hollow High School with Lane before leaving for Chilton.

As an added bonus, the tour also featured the signature couch and fountain from "Friends."

wb tour stars hollow

The "Friends" couch was not plush like I expected it to be.

I circled around to the front of the lot and saw people standing in line for "Lunch With Lorelai."

wb tour stars hollow

To my surprise, "Lunch with Lorelai" didn't actually take place in Lorelai Gilmore's home.

I made my way to the back of the line, which was really long and extended past the front of the fence.

The "Lunch With Lorelai" menu featured a variety of festive options.

wb tour stars hollow

The menu offered seasonal items like oven-roasted turkey breast with mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts, and grilled flank steak with roasted red potatoes and green beans. Other options included chicken tenders, pizza, and french fries — some of Lorelai and Rory's favorites.

I was expecting the interior of the home to mimic Lorelai's living room, but that was not the case.

wb tour stars hollow

I waited in line for about 15 minutes before I got to the register to order my food.

Though the food wasn't prepared by Sookie herself, it was still warm and tasty.

wb tour stars hollow

I ordered the oven-roasted turkey breast since I was in the mood for a holiday lunch. The plate came with turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, and brussels sprouts.

Overall, the meal was delicious. The brussels sprouts seemed to be steamed instead of roasted as the description said, but they were still tasty. The gravy was by far my favorite part, adding loads of flavor to the mashed potatoes I ordered.

After I finished my meal, I visited Lorelai's house, which was my favorite stop on the tour.

wb tour stars hollow

After I finished my meal, I walked back toward the front entrance of the lot and made my way to some of the other locations I didn't get to see yet.

Lorelai's house, which doubled as the gift shop, was next up on the list. It was decked out in colorful Christmas lights.

The Gilmore mailbox was on display outside of the residence.

wb tour stars hollow

The mailbox was filled with Rory's acceptance letters from Yale, Harvard, and Princeton University.

Costumes from the show were on display inside the Gilmore home.

wb tour stars hollow

When I first stepped into Lorelai's home, I noticed the original costumes that Rory and Lorelai wore were on display. There was a line to view the rest of the house, which takes you through Rory's bedroom and the living room.

As soon as you walk into the house, you're standing in Rory's bedroom.

wb tour stars hollow

Rory's bedroom looked exactly like what I remembered from the show, and was decorated with props, including her laptop and pajamas.

Rory's dresser was covered in books, and the mirror featured a Yale flag.

wb tour stars hollow

Rory was a big bookworm in the show, so it felt fitting that her dresser was stacked with her favorite books.

The TV inside Rory's room was playing an episode of "Gilmore Girls."

wb tour stars hollow

I enjoyed how guests could watch episodes of "Gilmore Girls" while they roamed through the house.

The living room was decked out in holiday decor and included a Christmas tree.

wb tour stars hollow

Lorelai's living room matched the exact setup that they had on the show.

I noticed a photo of Luke on one of the tables in the living room.

wb tour stars hollow

The photo was a sweet nod to Luke's relationship with Lorelai and Rory on the show.

Other decorations inside the house included snow globes and photos of Rory and Lorelai.

wb tour stars hollow

I personally loved all the small touches in the home that made the set feel more realistic.

Luke's clothing was also on display in Lorelai's house.

wb tour stars hollow

Luke's signature blue baseball cap made an appearance.

I continued past the living room to the gift shop.

wb tour stars hollow

The gift shop located inside Lorelai's home sold exclusive "Gilmore Girls" merchandise like magnets, mugs, clothing, and more.

Lorelai's Jeep was another prop that was on display directly outside her home.

wb tour stars hollow

By the time I walked out of Lorelai's house, it was dark outside and the lights were finally on.

I noticed Lorelai's 2000 Jeep Wrangler parked outside of her home.

I saw people carrying Luke's Diner coffee cups, and decided I needed one of my own.

wb tour stars hollow

The stand right outside of Lorelai's house sold items like hot cocoa, coffee, Pop-Tarts, and cookies.

I opted for the hot cocoa and dragonfly shortbread cookie.

wb tour stars hollow

The hot cocoa felt like a perfect addition to the holiday-themed experience.

I sipped my hot cocoa outside of the Independence Inn, which featured a sign that said: "I smell snow."

wb tour stars hollow

"I smell snow" was one of Lorelai's most iconic quotes from the show.

The building was supposed to represent the potting shed that Lorelai and Rory lived in behind the Inn while Lorelai was working as a maid.

I took advantage of the photo ops and snapped a few holiday pictures.

wb tour stars hollow

A sleigh in front of the shed was lit up and decorated with holiday decor. I stood in a decent line to get this photo.

Once I saw everything there was to see in Stars Hollow, I stood in line for the tram to pick me back up from the entrance of the lot.

wb tour stars hollow

A tram came to pick people up every 10 minutes. TV screens playing on the ride back shared a little history about the Warner Bros. Studio lot.

In the end, the holiday tour was a magical experience that will make any "Gilmore Girls" fan feel nostalgic.

wb tour stars hollow

Visiting iconic locations like Luke's Diner and Lorelai's home made me feel nostalgic, and I want to rewatch the series right away.

The "Gilmore Girls" holiday tour runs from December 21, 2019, to January 5, 2020. You can purchase tickets for the tour on the Warner Bros. website, and prices start at $59 for children and $69 for adults.

My Day in Stars Hollow – Gilmore Girls Set Tour

wb tour stars hollow

Calling all Gilmore Girls Fans! For those of you who don’t know, I am a huge Gilmore Girls fan. Not only did I watch the series when it originally aired many years ago, but I also watch the full series once a year (maybe not all of the episodes, but many of my favorites).

If you are not familiar with Gilmore Girls, the fast-talking mother/daughter series is set in the fictional New England town of Stars Hollow, presumably near Hartford, CT. On more than one occasion, I’ve thought about what it would be like to actually visit the town that Stars Hollow was based on or maybe even visit some of the places featured in the show. After doing some research, I learned that, although Stars Hollow is loosely based on several small communities around Hartford, there really is no one single place that represents Stars Hollow.

wb tour stars hollow

But little did I know that on my recent trip to Southern California , I was about to be transported right to the middle of that very quaint town, where Lorelei and Rory would walk arm in arm, chattering at light speed as they headed to Luke’s Diner for coffee.

If you’ve read my previous posts, you know that I just recently returned from Southern California where I took the Warner Brothers Studio Tour for the first time. I can say, without question, that if you have an affinity for all things Gilmore Girls, taking the WB studio tour should be on your GG bucket list!

wb tour stars hollow

From the moment we entered the main studio street, I knew that I had arrived in Stars Hollow. The famous Stars Hollow town gazebo – which is vital to the town’s charm and a key identifier in the series – was impossible to miss as was the huge smile on my face! I just couldn’t resist snapping a picture of me on the famous steps, but what Gilmore Girls fan could? And, my dear friends, the gazebo was just the start. The tour took us to several places around the town where the guide would stop and talk about the various scenes that were filmed there and other interesting facts about the show and its sets.

wb tour stars hollow

And, not only did we walk past many of the notable Stars Hollow locations, but we were also allowed to step inside a few – which made the experience much more fun and real! I mean, how many people can say they’ve actually been in Lorelei’s house or Luke’s Diner?

wb tour stars hollow

But something you won’t find on the tour are the actual internal sets used in the series. Most, if not all, of the buildings we toured were empty inside, but it was still easy to imagine Lorelei standing on her front porch or customers walking in and out of the very familiar diner door to take a cell phone call (we all know, no cell phones allowed in Luke’s Diner!)

wb tour stars hollow

Overall, the tour included 9 Gilmore Girls buildings or set pieces including :

  • The Town Gazebo
  • Luke’s Diner
  • Lorelei’s and Rory’s House
  • Sookie’s house – Fun fact – Lorelei’s house and Sookie’s house are connected on the set so when you walk all the way through Lorelei’s house to the other side, you actually come out of Sookie’s house!
  • Doose’s Market
  • Kim’s Antique’s
  • Christopher’s House
  • Mitchum Huntzberger’s office building

wb tour stars hollow

My only disappointment was not seeing either of the famous Inns featured in the show – the Independence Inn or the Dragonfly. (I think they are featured on some tours, but not others). But, there’s always next time!

So if you’re looking to relive your Gilmore Girls years, the Warner Brothers Studio Tour is a must do!

Happy Travels Everyone!
