If you want a front-facing bedroom but don’t want to go the length of your camper to use the restroom in the middle of the night, the Heartland North Trail 33RETS may be more appealing.

This type has a 39’8″ outside length with a capped roof that allows for an 82″ inside ceiling height. That implies plenty of headroom for travelers above 6 feet tall. The first slide is in the bedroom to make a place for the king-size bed. Front wardrobe with sliding glass doors, hanging storage, and washer/dryer hookups. A wide window and above storage area flank the bed.

The bathroom is accessible from the trailer’s entryway or the bedroom. The bathroom has a corner shower with sliding doors, a foot flush toilet, a sink, and a linen closet. The other two slides are carpeted in the main living room. The entry slide contains a free-standing table and chairs, as well as theater seating with cupholders. This slide includes four windows for plenty of natural light whether you’re eating breakfast or relaxing at night.

Next to the theater chairs and galley is the entertainment center with a fireplace. Also in the galley are two (yes, TWO) double-door residential-style refrigerators. The slide-out fridge and cooking area free up one wall for counter and cabinet space, making prep work and cooking with two people much easier. The dual sink is at the center island, which also has storage and counter.

Heartland North Trail is another travel trailer RV built for couples and small families that wish to travel in style and comfort. It features a king-size bed and an attached bathroom, so it seems like a master suite. Even if the sleeping quarters are a little cramped.

This is a slight trade-off for a vast living area. A spacious kitchen island or counter space and a three-burner range/stove combo complete the kitchen. The living room has a huge couch that may be used as a hide-a-bed for kids or a guest couple.

The bathroom is large, with plenty of elbow room in the shower. The Heartland North Trail 33RETS has a 52-gallon freshwater tank, making it ideal for couples who like to boondock or camp off-grid. The gray and black water tanks are each 42 gallons, and the fresh water tank is 52 gallons. It also reduces the need to run to the RV park’s disposal station. Invest in large-capacity portable wastewater tanks. So you can get to the disposal station in one or two journeys.

Entertainment center with fireplace, kitchen island with sink, enclosed bedroom with bathroom access The North Trail features three slide-out portions, which is very normal. The dining and seating area, the kitchen, and the bedroom.

With so many slide-outs, there’s more room to move about and stretch. Keep in mind that setting up for the night will take longer. Its huge tanks should last up to a week depending on usage.

The North Trail includes a large kitchen island with a sink. The eating area also features normal chairs that can be moved around. Having conventional chairs in the dinette is rare in RVs. Regarding seats, there are two alternatives (or the built-in fireplace). Two recliners flank the TV, while a sofa flanks it on the side. This king bed travel trailer offers an enclosed bedroom and its own bathroom. Lastly, there is a large wardrobe beside the bed, so plenty of storage room can be utilized.

What to Look for in a Travel Trailer with a King Bed

When buying a new trailer, there are various factors to consider when looking at the bed. These considerations will heavily influence your choice of RV, so take your time. Taking your time will ensure you get the best RV.

How many companions will you be having?

Before buying an RV or travel trailer, determine how many people will be sleeping in it at any given moment. This determines the size of the trailer and the number of beds required. Which beds you want in your trailer will depend on your budget.

If you are traveling with your spouse, a king-size bed may be best. It’s big enough for both of you and uses less space than two twin beds.

However, if you plan to travel largely with your pals, a king-size bed may not be necessary. Instead, acquire a camper with multiple twin beds to conserve room. The king bed is useless if you are the only one sleeping in it.

Total Travel Trailer Layout

You must also analyze the trailer’s overall design. RVs and trailers come in a wide range of designs. So a bed for one trailer may not fit in another. So, before you buy a bed, consider the trailer’s design.

A king-size bed may not fit in a smaller trailer. Other trailers may be spacious enough, but you may have to give up the night tables to have a king bed.

Underneath the King Bed Storage

When you first pack for an RV trip, you will notice that it is difficult to fit everyone into the trailer. It’s difficult to put everything into the trailer, including rv gear.

So you must learn to bring and leave. But there are things you can do to increase your storage capacity. One of them is a king bed with storage underneath.

Several mattresses in an RV take up a full area of the room, removing all storage space. The lack of storage space under the bed makes the master bedroom difficult to organize. However, a trailer with a king bed and storage underneath is available.

This will provide you with a lot more storage because the space underneath your bed is now storage. Additional storage without eating up extra trailer space. This will allow you to bring a few extra items on your trip.

A secondary bedroom

Consider if you ever need a camper with a separate bed from the remainder of the trailer.

Q. What is the smallest travel trailer with a king-size bed?

A. The Keystone Cougar 22MLS is a great option for families. With a length of under 26 feet, the Cougar is one of the shortest travel trailers on the market today. When compared to other travel trailers with king-size beds, this travel trailer has fewer facilities and only sleeps four people, which is a significant disadvantage. In such a case, this rig would suit couples or small families well.

Q. Can you fit a king-size bed in an RV?

A. Yes, it is possible. As long as you opt for a larger vehicle such as a Class A motorhome, a huge Class C motorhome, or a 5th wheel trailer, you should be fine. The majority of manufacturers of these larger recreational vehicles (RVs) provide floorplans with King-sized beds. Bear in mind that RV mattresses are available in a variety of sizes that differ from residential mattresses.

Why a Travel Trailer with a King Bed?

• More sleeping room: Of course, this is the obvious one. If you have a king bed at home and don’t want to downsize, you don’t have to! King beds mean you can fit one more person in your RV since three people can sleep relatively comfortably in a king bed.
• Bedroom suites: Many travel trailers with king beds have enclosed, private bedrooms. This means if you’re traveling with family, you’ll be able to escape to your bedroom suite that’s usually separated from the living area and other sleeping areas. 
• High-end trailers: A travel trailer with king bed is definitely considered a luxury amenity. This means that trailers with king beds generally have “fancier” amenities overall. If you pick a travel trailer with a king bed you’ll likely have other amenities that are just as luxurious as a king bed.

Are Camping Trailer King Beds the Same as Regular King Beds?

A residential king bed is 76 inches wide, and 80 inches long. They’re the same length as a queen bed but they’re over a foot wider.

In travel trailers with king beds, it’s very rare to find a bed that’s 76 inches wide. Typical travel trailers will have an “RV king” which will be between 70 and 74 inches wide. 

King size beds in travel trailers are not as wide as residential beds simply because there’s only so much space to work with inside a travel trailer.

Here are my top 12 travel trailers with king beds. I’ve included a mix of small, mid-sized, and very large travel trailers with king beds so there are plenty of options for you…

Heartland North Trail 25RBP

Key features:

The Heartland North Trail is a mid-sized travel trailer with residential-style features. Seriously… the inside of the trailer really looks like you’re inside a luxury condo.

The king sized bed is gel-infused and it’s located at the front of the trailer. The bedroom area has overhead cabinetry storage surrounding the bed and led lighting. 

On either side, you’ll get a small shelf that acts as a nightstand, underneath two nicely sized windows. There’s a sliding privacy door that separates it from the kitchen area.

In the kitchen and dining area are a four-person dinette, and a large lounge. At the back of the trailer, you get a large bathroom with TWO sinks and a large walk-in shower.

Altogether, the Heartland North Trail sleeps four people.

Venture RV SportTrek Touring STT333VMI

Key Features:

The floorplan of the Venture RV SportTrek Touring has some great privacy that gives the bedroom a true master bedroom feeling. 

The 70” x 80” king-size bed is located all the way at the back of the trailer, and there’s an electric fireplace right in the bedroom!!! Plus, you get washer/dryer prep right in your bedroom closet.

Separating the bedroom from the living area is a large bathroom with a walk-in shower.

The kitchen has tons of floor space with an island in the middle and a residential-style dining table.

The tri-fold sofa sits at the very front of the trailer and adds extra sleeping room.

The Venture RV SportTrek Touring also has an outdoor “campfire kitchen” with a griddle, sink, and refrigerator all underneath one of two awnings.

At just 25 feet, the Cruiser RV Embrace is on the smaller end of travel trailers with king-size beds. 

Cruiser RV markets the Embrace EL210 as a “couples coach”, but it can sleep up to six people with the tri-fold sofa.

The Embrace has a couple of pretty unique features, like a full underbelly storage system, as well as exterior speakers.

The most unique feature of the Cruiser RV travel trailers is the patent-pending sliding king-size bed. 

The system allows you to slide the bed over to one side. This creates 12 inches of extra floor space in the bedroom whenever you need it.  The bedroom, though, isn’t much of a “master bedroom” since it’s basically in the same room as the kitchen and living room area. 

So, this Cruiser RV travel trailer will definitely work better for just two people who may occasionally bring friends or family along.

Winnebago Voyage V3235RL

Key Features:

The Winnebago Voyage V3235RL is a larger travel trailer with a king bed and residential-style amenities. The two slide outs in the living area make the space feel very large. The kitchen area comes with an island and a large sink surrounded by counter space. 

Plus, there’s a four-person dining area, reclining theater seats, and a tri-fold sofa. Sweet!

The master bedroom offers tons of privacy as it’s separated by a door from the rest of the trailer. Winnebago offers an upgrade to a king-size bed in all of the Voyage floor plans for a few hundred bucks.

The bedroom has a wardrobe and nightstand on either side of the 72” x 80” king size bed. You’ve also got washer/dryer prep in the closet of the bedroom. The bathroom is between the living area and the bedroom and has a really nice large walk-in shower.

Jayco White Hawk 30FLS

The Jayco White Hawk is a very popular travel trailer with a king bed. The bedroom itself really feels like you could be in a master bedroom at your house. 

The 72” x 80” king size bed is tucked under overhead storage cabinets and faces a wardrobe with a TV. On one side of the bathroom, you’ll also get two large wardrobes and a bench in between them.

(The master bedroom also has its own private entrance!)

In the middle of the trailer is the large bathroom area, which has two sinks and lots of counter space. 

The living area in the Jayco White Hawk has a u-shaped dinette and a tri fold sofa, along with a large double basin sink.

The entertainment center in the living area faces the tri-fold sofa and has an electric fireplace underneath.

Dutchmen Kodiak Ultimate 2921FKDS

• Hinged cabinets cover entryway
• Electric fireplace in master bedroom
• Tons of counter space
• Booth dinette
• Electric reclining seats
• Heated underbelly

The Dutchmen Kodiak has one of my favorite floorplans I’ve seen in a travel trailer. The king bedroom is completely private, separated from the living area by the bathroom with doors on either side.

In the bedroom, you get three large windows, an electric fireplace, and an entertainment center. Plus overhead storage cabinetry, LED lighting, and two wardrobes.

The living area is completely closed off by a hinged door, so you can’t even tell you’re in an RV when you’re hanging out in the kitchen.

The pullout offers lots of extra floor space and natural lighting from the windows above the entertainment chairs and booth dinette. The kitchen in this trailer has maybe the most countertop space I’ve seen in any travel trailer. 

So, this kitchen is great if you love to cook when you’re on the road and find you need to use a lot of counter space for prepping.

Cruiser RV Shadow Cruiser 215RBS

• Sliding king size bed
• Work from home desk space
• Just 22 feet in length
• Curtain for master bedroom privacy

Cruiser RV’s Shadow Cruiser is the smallest travel trailer with a king bed I’ve found. It’s just 22 feet long!

The Shadow Cruiser is another couple’s coach from Cruiser RV. It’s made for two but can sleep up to six. The king size bed is enclosed by a curtain and has Cruiser RV’s sliding system for extra elbow room on either side of the bed.

The living area has a u-shaped dinette and an L-shaped kitchen with lots of kitchen space.

At the back is a space that’s designed for you to use if you work from home–half the back wall is a desk with some storage underneath. Next to the work area is a mid-sized bathroom with lots of counter space.

If you don’t have the towing capacity to lug around a huge 40 foot trailer, the dainty 22 foot Shadow Cruiser is a great option for you.

It’s especially great if you plan to travel by yourself, with a partner, and you really need a good workspace with you. Plus, there’s lots of extra sleeping room in case you want to bring friends and family with you.

Palomino Puma 31FKRK

The Palomino Puma is a large trailer with a large living space and a private master bedroom. The living space is a large room with a tri-fold sofa, a dinette, and reclining seats that face the entertainment center.

The kitchen area has a three-burner stove and an overhead microwave. You’ll also get a large kitchen sink with a high-rise faucet and tons of counter space.

The king-size bed is located in one of two pull-outs in the trailer, which makes the room feel very spacious. 

There isn’t any room on either side of the king bed, but you do get overhead cabinet space and a large wardrobe. Plus, there’s a closet with washer/dryer prep in the corner of the bedroom.

The bathroom in the Puma is pretty standard. It separates the king bedroom from the living area and has a shower, sink, toilet, and small linen closet.

But the biggest plus? The whole trailer has heated floors so you can have nice warm feet on cold mornings. YES!

Forest River’s Vibe 28RB has tons of fancy amenities and built-in features that might catch your eye if you’re looking for a trailer that feels like home.

The bedroom is totally private and has a 72” x 80” king size bed with storage underneath. There are nightstands with USB charging ports on either side of the bed, and overhead storage above.

The bedroom also offers a walk-in closet with washer/dryer prep behind a barn door. The whole bedroom area is enclosed by a really gorgeous country chic barn door.

The living area features in the Vibe are pretty standard, except that it has a very large refrigerator and a walk-in pantry!! In the bathroom, you’ll get two large linen closets, a toilet, shower, and sink. Outside, the Vibe has a little outdoor kitchen with an induction cooktop.

Plus, panoramic windows wrap around the living area. And the whole thing comes with solar in the standard package.

Keystone RV Cougar Half-Ton 22MLS

The Cougar Half-Ton is a mid-sized trailer from Keystone RV with a really gorgeous interior. The travel trailer has hardwood cabinetry throughout, and heated flooring. 

In the kitchen, you’ll get a large double basin stainless steel sink with a high-rise faucet. Plus a booth dinette with a TV above it, and a large pantry. 

The bathroom is pretty standard, with a toilet, sink, shower, and sliding door. 

The king bedroom is separated from the rest of the space by a curtain. You’ll get underbed storage in the 70” x 80” king bed, and nightstands on either side.

The nightstands are set up with USB charging ports. The bedroom comes fitted with a “platinum series” king mattress which Keystone claims is very comfortable.

This travel trailer also comes with some pretty sweet extras, like a shoe cubby right when you walk in the door, and solar panels in the base package.

Highland Ridge Open Range Light 275RLS

• Kitchen island with sink
• Lots of daytime seating
• Two pullouts
• Outdoor kitchenette
• Laundry chute in bedroom

The Highland Ridge Open Range is a larger travel trailer with a king suite and tons of living space.

The king bedroom is pretty roomy for a travel trailer bedroom. It has lots of storage space, plus nightstands on both sides of the bed.

The bedroom also has a laundry chute, which is a super unique feature I haven’t seen in any other travel trailer. You’ll also get a wardrobe with washer/dryer prep inside.

The bathroom has a large walk-in shower, a sink, and a toilet, and is enclosed by a sliding door. The living area has lots of floor space because of the two opposing pullouts.

On one side are two theater seats and a dinette, and on the other are all your kitchen appliances, an entertainment center, and an electric fireplace. There’s also a kitchen island in the center of the space. In the very back, you’ll get a tri fold sofa for extra sleeping space.

The Lance 2465 is a great mid-range travel trailer perfect for couples.

The king size bed is located in a pull out, which makes the bedroom feel super spacious. The large windows in the bathroom add a lot of natural light to the space. 

There’s a huge entertainment center in the bedroom, with a 40” TV, and wardrobes on both sides. The second pull-out is located at the dinette, and has wrap-around windows.

The underbelly of the trailer is totally enclosed and heated, so this trailer is perfect for winter camping. 

The standard package also comes with a roof rack for hauling kayaks, skis, or whatever outdoor equipment you have!

What Types of King Mattresses Can You Get for Your Trailer?

Although many RV manufacturers claim that their mattresses are ultra-comfortable, this isn’t always the case. RV mattresses are notoriously thin and uncomfortable, so many people opt to purchase a mattress separately. 

If you do want to pick your own mattress, there are a few different options out there. I’ll explain them and why I’d recommend (or not recommend) any of the following options.

Air Mattress: Not Recommended

Air mattresses are one option for a king mattress in travel trailers. However, I really do not recommend them because they can be really uncomfortable. Plus, you have to inflate them pretty often. 

If you’re going to invest in a king sized bed for your travel trailer, invest in a quality mattress as well. An air mattress doesn’t really cut it unless it’s just temporary use.

Residential Memory Foam Mattress: Comfortable But Might Not Fit

Memory foam mattresses like the ones you buy online and are shipped to your house in a box are super comfortable. (If you have one, you know).

These are a super comfortable option for an RV king mattress, but you’ll have to make sure they will fit in the given space. 

Since some RV king beds can be as small as 70 inches wide, the extra 6 inches on a residential mattress just might not fit in the layout of the RV.

Mattress Toppers: Great to Boost Comfort

Memory foam mattress toppers are a great option if you find your mattress is a tiny bit uncomfortable. A mattress topper will not fix all your problems, but it’ll just boost the comfort of a thin mattress a bit.

These are inexpensive and can be cut to fit the size of your mattress. You can also order a custom-sized topper from Mattress Insider .

However, they might slide around a bit and aren’t a permanent solution to a highly uncomfortable mattress.

There aren’t currently any travel trailer manufacturers that offer king-size murphy beds. This would be an upgrade you’d have to take on yourself.

Can I use a regular king mattress in my travel trailer?

Yes you can, though it might not be a perfect fit.

Typical king bed dimensions in a travel trailer are between 70 and 74 inches wide whereas a residential king mattress is 76 inches wide.

What is the smallest travel trailer with a king bed?

The Cruiser RV Shadow Cruiser might be the smallest travel trailer out there with a king bed at just 22 feet long.

Can I put a king bed in a queen sized space in my travel trailer?

If your travel trailer has a queen size bed and you want a king, it is possible to put a king bed in the travel trailer.

You’ll need to make sure, most importantly, that there’s enough room on either side of the queen bed for a king bed to fit in the space.

Then, you may have to add some extra supports for the overhang of the mattress.

A king bed in a travel trailer may seem like a big luxury, but it’s not really such a huge reach.

You don’t necessarily have to shell out a ton of cash or purchase a huge rig to find a travel trailer with a nice comfy king bed.

Fortunately, there are plenty of options out there, from large trailers with king beds in master suites and tons of extra sleeping room, to studio-style couple’s trailers.

And why not amp up the comfort even more by adding a custom mattress to replace the thin mattress that usually comes with travel trailers??

Just a FYI for would-be buyers of new travel trailers (and any other type), make sure the PDI is complete and ALL warranty repairs conducted before you leave the lot. Especially if you are not from that area and plan on taking it home in another state.

The dealers in your home state may not conduct warranty work on your trailer since you didn’t buy it from them and can’t be bothered with you. Service work may not be available as well if you didn’t buy it from them. They prioritize service techs for people that bought from them. Lastly, they may perform warranty repairs, but make you pay for the warranty work upfront and YOU then have to make your case to the Manufacturer for reimbursement.

Just my experience in my area. Your experience will vary. Find out if you can get warranty work for your trailer in your area IF you bought it elsewhere.

What Are the Dimensions of a King Bed in Travel Trailers?

King mattresses come in a variety of sizes and dimensions, so you will need to look around to find the perfect one for you. However, you can usually assume that king-size beds will range from 74 to 76 inches wide by 76 to 80 inches long.

California King beds are approximately 72 inches wide by 84 inches long. So for you taller folks out there a California King may be the perfect king-size bed for you but we have never seen a travel trailer with a California King bed yet. And we have toured and reviewed thousands of trailers.

It’s also important to remember that RV mattresses have different dimensions compared to residential mattresses. And many manufacturers do not list the actual bed size in their specs. Some just say King Bed but who knows what size the bed is.

RV mattresses are usually smaller than the ones you use at home. So be sure to bring your tape measure like I do when we tour RVs to make sure you know exactly what you are getting.

There are a wide range of travel trailers out there with a king bed, and they come in a variety of sizes. Just because it has a king bed doesn’t mean it has to be a monstrous RV.

The kitchen in the Heartland North Trail 25FK might be on the opposite end of the RV from the king bed, making those midnight snacks more of an effort, but the size is worth the placement. The counter space is exceptional, with a giant window in the front that offers plenty of morning sunshine over a hot breakfast.

The bathroom is a split affair, but there’s more than enough space, with a large shower and plenty of legroom. The king bed is part of a slide, offering more space in the master bedroom, with a second, large window for plenty of natural lighting throughout the day.

The Winnebago Voyage 2427RB comes with several options. For one, you don’t get the king automatically, unless you choose that as one of the various floorplans. You also have the option of going with theater seating, a sofa with a chaise, or the more standard, tri-fold sofa.

Regardless of which entertainment seating arrangement you elect to go with, the TV is directly across from it, which is always a very welcome feature. King bed or queen, you still get dual, flanking wardrobes for hanging clothes or extra storage space.

4. Palomino Puma 31FKRK

The king bed is surrounded by storage, with a huge wardrobe, alongside another closet. The additional closet also features a washer and dryer hookup, if you prefer to go with that. You also get overhead storage above the king bed, and an additional dresser at the foot of the bed.

The East To West Alta 2350KRK is a shorter travel trailer that mimics much larger ones. It features two entryways, one of which directly accesses the king bed. The bathroom is split, but this allows for some space improvements, especially for the bathroom counter space.

The kitchen is laid out across the back, so you get plenty of counter space there as well. Instead of going with a traditional dinette, you get a “dinette/coffee table” in front of the tri-fold sofa, which you can replace with theater seating if you prefer.

6. Forest River Flagstaff 826KBS

The Forest River Flagstaff 826KBS is a neat little couple’s camper with several features designed to make the interior feel much larger than it really is. The bathroom takes up the entire back end and even includes a sizeable linen closet, with additional overhead storage as well.

If you prefer to cook outdoors, there’s an outside kitchen, which includes a refrigerator and a slide-out griddle beneath a 22′ awning. The kitchen is spacious too, with an L-shape counter that provides plenty of space for meal prep.

7. Gulf Stream Trailmaster 303RLI

There is a ton of living space on the Gulf Stream Trailmaster 303RLI , even with the kitchen island smack in the center of everything. Theater seating, a large dinette, and a lengthy sofa surround the entertainment center, fireplace, and kitchen island.

You only get the neckbreaker deal if you’re watching TV from the sofa unless it’s just you and you can kick back with your head on one end. There are windows everywhere, especially around the dinette, so there’s plenty of natural light pouring in, even on a rainy day.

8. Lance 2465

As you can see, there are plenty of travel trailers with a king bed that don’t have to be extremely long or overly large. The Lance 2465 is yet another smallish RV with a king, and plenty of remaining space to work with throughout.

The bathroom is split but, again, this allows for more counter space and legroom in each room. The king bed may be large, but you’ll still have plenty of room to walk around it. Also, if you work remotely, there’s enough room at the foot of the king for an extensive office space, with plenty of drawers and a telescoping TV.

9. Highland Range Open Range 321BHS

4 Things to Consider When Buying a Travel Trailer with a King-Size Bed

When you are shopping for a new trailer, there are several things you need to consider when looking at the bed it comes with.

These factors will have a serious impact on which RV you purchase, so it is important to take your time with the process. By taking your time you will ensure that you purchase the best RV possible. 

1. How Many People Will Be Sleeping in the Travel Trailer?

The most important thing to figure out before you purchase an RV or travel trailer is how many people will be sleeping in it at a time. This affects the size of the trailer you are going to purchase, and it affects how many beds you are going to need. It will also have an effect on the types of beds you want in your trailer. 

If you are planning on traveling with your spouse, then it might be a good idea to get a king-size bed. It is large enough for both of you to sleep in and is more space-efficient than two twin beds.

However, if you are planning on mostly traveling with your friends, it might not be in your best interest to purchase a king-size bed. Instead, you might be better off getting a trailer with several twin beds to save space. If you are the only one that will be sleeping in the king bed, then it is a waste of space. 

2. Overall Design of the Travel Trailer

You also need to consider the overall design of the trailer. RVs and trailers can have significant variations in their designs. As a result, a bed that fits in one trailer may not fit in another. Therefore, you will need to factor in the design of your trailer before you purchase your bed.

If you have a smaller trailer it might not even be possible to fit a king-size bed in the trailer. Other trailers might be big enough, but you may have to give up the night tables on each side of the bed to increase from a queen bed to a king bed.

3. Storage Space Under the King Bed

The first time you pack for an RV trip, you will quickly realize that it is hard to fit everyone’s things into the trailer. Along with the things you need for certain activities like fishing gear, it can be hard to pack everything into the trailer.

So, you need to learn what to bring and what to leave behind. However, there are things you can do to give yourself a little bit more storage space. One of those things is to purchase a king bed with storage space underneath it. 

Several beds go into an RV and take up an entire section of the room, taking away all available storage space. There is no space under the bed, making it almost impossible to store things in the master bedroom. However, you can purchase a trailer with a king bed that has storage space under it.

This will give an immense amount of extra storage because all that space underneath your bed becomes storage space. You will be getting extra storage without taking up any extra space in the trailer. By doing this you will give yourself the ability to bring a few extra things with you on your trip. 

4. Is There a Separate Bedroom?

One more thing to consider is if you need a trailer with a separate bedroom so it is closed off from the rest of the trailer. For example, if you and your spouse have different sleep schedules, like one of you is a night owl and the other is an early riser, then a separate bedroom may be worth considering.

Are There Any Travel Trailers With 2 King Beds?

There are travel trailers with king beds, however, they are pretty rare and difficult to find. The Keystone Outback 343DB is one of them and it’s surprisingly lightweight, leaving the factory at 8,265 lbs UVW, with a hitch weight of 1,165 lbs.

If you’re looking for something smaller, there are some travel trailers out there with a king and queen, or a queen and queen. For instance, the Cherokee Grey Wolf 29QB features two queen-size beds. The Grand Design Solitude 391DL comes with two queens, but a king in the primary bedroom is an option.

Final Words About Travel Trailers With a King Bed

Travel trailers with a king bed are surprisingly common, as the ten on this list attests. Plus, there are many more options out there as well, such as the above-listed Grand Design and Cherokee options.

Some RVers just love that extra sleeping space and, if you’re simply used to sleeping in a king and looking to dive headlong into the RVing lifestyle, you don’t necessarily have to sacrifice your sleeping accommodations.

Couples who enjoy having a bit of extra elbow room are also good candidates for a king mattress. In either case, if you expect to have any small children or pets sharing the bed with you, you’re sure to appreciate the additional space.

Deciding on a king sized bed for your travel trailer is far simpler than choosing one for your bedroom at home. For one thing, you don’t have to worry whether your bedroom is large enough to accommodate the extra width. Similarly, you won’t have to maneuver the mattress through any tight doorways. And as far as budget is concerned, you’re planning on purchasing a new travel trailer anyway. Great Travel Trailers With King Size Bed: Product Review Guide

Jayco has a reputation for packing a great deal of fun into smaller spaces. With the 2020 model of the White Hawk 32KBS, they’ve given you a comfortable place to crash when you’re through enjoying the rest of the amenities.

As you enter the trailer, the bedroom area is to the right. The king bed dominates the space without overwhelming it, leaving room for two wardrobes, a bench, and a dresser with built-in fireplace. To the left of the entrance, you’ll find the kitchen, which is distinguished by a generous pantry, double sink, microwave, 8-cubic foot refrigerator, and U-shaped dinette.

A second fireplace is built into the entertainment center, opposite the tri-fold sofa. The bathroom is located to the rear of the trailer, outfitted with a sink, toilet, stall shower, and walk-in closet. An outdoor kitchen can be set up beneath the 21-foot awning, increasing the living space still further.

Clearly, the White Hawk 32KBS is designed to appeal to buyers who prefer to bring a few creature comforts into the wilderness. The oversized bed is a definite perk, but it’s only one of many.

The cozy, well-appointed living area is the best reason to consider investing in this offering from Forest River. However, that’s no reason to overlook the rest of the amenities, which are just as impressive.

The bedroom, situated in the rear, has its own private entrance and a wardrobe-vanity combo to complement the king-sized bed. A pocket door leads to the bathroom, which can also be accessed from the tiny hallway. A comfortable sofa and two theater-style seats form an L-shape across from the fireplace and entertainment center. In between the sleeping area and the kitchen is a bathroom with toilet, sink, linen closet, and stall shower. A three-burner stove and double sink are set into the L-shaped counter, which offers plenty of prep space. A refrigerator and small pantry round out the kitchen amenities.

The sofa and small dinette allow campers to gather and chat about the day’s activities, or take in a movie on the 30-inch TV that’s situated on the outer wall of the bunkhouse. Through the bunkhouse doors, you’ll find an additional dinette and entertainment center, in addition to a set of bunk beds.

It should be noted that the king bed, at just 70 inches wide, is significantly narrower than the 76-inch standard. The trailer is also a bit larger than some of the other units listed here, but if your towing vehicle can handle it, this is a great option.

The Puma 31FKRK is aimed at couples and small families who enjoy the outdoors, but are looking for a comfortable place to escape at the end of the day. With its modest length and durable construction, it succeeds on both counts.

The front-facing kitchen features an oversized L-shaped counter and a deep sink, along with a three-burner range, oven, 6-cubic foot refrigerator, and microwave. The fridge can be upgraded to 11 cubic feet if you need additional space. An entertainment center and built-in fireplace grace the living area, and can be viewed from the trifold sofa and theater-style recliners. Buyers can choose either a stand-alone table and chairs or a cozy dinette for mealtimes.

Considering the relatively small size of the trailer, the bathroom is impressively appointed, with a 34×34 inch shower and skylight. It sits adjacent to the master bedroom, which offers a king sized bed and two wardrobes for storage. A second TV can be hooked up in the bedroom, if desired. There’s also a washer/dryer option if you plan on taking longer journeys.

These thoughtful touches combine to make the Puma 31FKRK feel more like a home than a camper. If you only need sleeping space for up to six people, this could be right up your alley.

Despite the fact that it sleeps only four people, the Prime Time LaCrosse 3299SE offers a remarkable amount of living space. The LaCrosse line is Prime Time’s premier brand, and this particular model puts that luxury on full display, with a solid construction that elevates it into a true home away from home.

In the master suite, you’ll find a wardrobe and overhead storage in addition to the king bed. The bedroom adjoins the sleeping area and offers a large shower in addition to the sink and flush toilet. We’re not crazy about the fact that the only entrance to the bathroom is situated just steps away from the bed, but couples and solo travelers aren’t likely to mind.

Theater seating and a plump pull-out sofa offer a place to unwind and enjoy the entertainment center. The kitchen takes center stage, with a free-standing dinette, sink, refrigerator, pantry, and hutch. There’s also an outdoor cooking station with a grill and separate fridge for cold beverages.

In addition to measuring just under 37 feet in length, this camper has a relatively low dry weight of 8,149 pounds. As such, it would be a solid option for beginners, especially if your vehicle can only tow modest loads.

The North Trail line is distinguished by open, airy living spaces that allow for lively conversation and relaxed evenings. This is one of the smaller options, but the oversized windows promote a spacious feel, along with prime views of the outdoors.

The interior provides a sizable feast for the eyes as well. A front-facing master bedroom pairs the king-sized bed with a wardrobe and space for a washer/dryer. The bathroom is cubbyhole-sized, but still manages to make room for a stall shower. It can be accessed through either the bedroom or the hallway , a perk that’s usually reserved for larger campers.

A center island with double sinks gives the kitchen area a gourmet vibe. Along the rear wall, an oversized refrigerator sits alongside a three-burner stovetop range. A pull-out sofa can sleep an additional two people. If you take advantage of the two slide-outs, the space opens up still further, with a table, four chairs, and two theater-style recliners.

Like the Sportsmen Destination model, the Sprinter Limited 333FKS has a king bed that measures just 70 inches wide. In our opinion, though, the additional space you’ll get in the bedroom is well worth the sacrifice.

Along with the bed—which is still larger than you’ll find in most small travel trailers—the sleeping area contains a wardrobe, dresser, and overhead storage. A linen closet and radius shower can be found in the adjacent bathroom. From the trifold sofa, campers can enjoy either a flickering fire, or their choice of media on the nearby entertainment center. A slide-out offers additional theater seating and a table that seats four.

The kitchen contains a center island with three-burner range, as well as a huge sink, double refrigerator, microwave, and ample pantry space. We’re particularly fond of the way the front-facing kitchen is configured, as it doesn’t interfere with the rest of the living area. Take a closer look at the 333FKS if you prefer a bedroom that offers space to walk around in, as well as a larger bed.

Measuring just over 27 feet long, the Radiance R-22RB is the smallest model in our roundup. Despite its modest length, it offers a generous interior height of 83 inches—more than enough to allow you to travel in style.

Cooking enthusiasts will enjoy the ample counter and storage space in the U-shaped kitchen, as well as the 6-cubic foot refrigerator and three-burner range. There’s also a huge sink with a high-rise faucet and a conveniently located trash chute.

A snug dinette rounds out the living area. The bathroom features a stall shower and plenty of counter space, but only a small shelf for storage. Similarly, the king sized bed takes up much of the bedroom, with only a smidgen of room on either side to get in and out.

While the living space of the R-22RB is decidedly less opulent than the majority of the travel trailers listed here, it’s cozy enough to suit close couples and small families. As a bonus, it’s compact enough to be parked and maneuvered easily, even if you’re a novice.

In Conclusion

As you can see, small doesn’t necessarily mean cramped, particularly when it comes to sleeping space. If you’ve balked at purchasing a travel trailer because you were afraid you’d have to sacrifice a good night’s sleep, fear not. There are plenty of quality campers on the market that combine a luxurious bed with a manageable length and towing weight—and plenty of other amenities to boot.
