We guarantee a regulatory valuation as part of our policy, in addition to online pickup location reservation and accommodation. The tour package prices displayed on our website are per person, not per group. Staff, drivers, and crew gratuities are not factored into these prices. We have the right to alter the prices shown on our website at any time and without notice. Only when there is an economic impact on gasoline costs, labor rates, accommodation rates, or transportation rates will these changes be implemented.

Payment Terms

Our Driver will collect the total payment CASH at the time of pick up, it’s applicable on all type of tour packages. If yo don’t have cash and want to pay by bank cards then the certain VAT + Transactional charges will applied.  

Booking Confirmation

Cancelation Procedure

Please inform Like Tourism LLC in writing if you need to cancel your entire reservation or only a portion of it. Failure to do so will result in your reservation being confirmed. This Palm Springs Hideaway Will Make You Feel Like a Golden-age Hollywood Star

Life House Palm Springs opened in late 2023, following a massive update of a retro motel in the center of it all.

The first thing that hit me upon entering the lobby of the Life House Palm Springs was the distinct scent of hazelnut leaves, cashmere musk, cedarwood, and patchouli emanating from the numerous candles lit around the space, filling the room with a sense of calm which set the tone for the rest of my weekend stay.

Standing in the lobby, taking in that scent, I realized that wasn’t the only thing drawing my attention. A wealth of design elements surrounded me: an ornately tiled floor, mid-century lounge chairs and sofas, beautiful fabrics, and plenty of plant life. The lobby's striking design (and smell) was also the first sign that while the hotel looks like a particular era, the 66-room property had indeed been updated for modern times.

Life House Palm Springs opened in late 2023, following a massive update of what was once the Royal Sun Inn. True to the Life House ethos, the '60s-era property was updated while keeping much of its charm — including leaving the original “Royal Sun” signage out front along with the rest of the historic facade.

The center of the action at Life House Palm Springs is Minerva’s Pool House, a buzzy space with both beds and cabanas perfect for spending an afternoon watching the sun slowly fall behind the San Jacinto Mountains while sipping a cocktail from the poolside bar — which I gladly did. In addition to the bar, Minerva’s also features an al fresco dining restaurant and a fire pit for those chilly desert nights after the sun goes down.

After getting plenty of sun, I danced the night away to the sounds of the DJs on hand and had a drink while tucked away in a booth at Minerva’s Apothecary, where expert mixologists used local ingredients to make craft cocktails. I loved that the bar also serves a menu that draws inspiration from the flora of the Coachella Valley. In the mornings, the space is transformed into a peaceful, natural-light-filled room serving breakfast, with no signs having hosted a party just hours earlier.

The hotel also strongly emphasizes health and wellness, frequently offering yoga classes by the pool in the mornings. I watched these classes mostly from the comfort of my cabana, but I would have been able to take a make-up class back in my room. The in-room Apple TV is loaded with yoga and meditation classes from Open, one of the hottest new yoga and meditation spaces in Los Angeles. Features like this made the space feel like a real retreat from the everyday world back home.

Speaking of which, I got a couple of Life House’s signature candles to bring back with me, so my living room occasionally transports me back to those carefree few days in the desert... Just missing the margarita.

Rooms at Life House Palm Springs transport you to the 1960s and may even make you feel like a vacationing Hollywood icon. True to its motel origins, all 66 rooms — including four suites — are connected via three levels of outdoor corridors. Each includes a private balcony with views of the mountains, desert landscape, and, of course, the pool.

Rooms have mid-century desks in case you need to do some work (Wi-Fi included) between trips to the pool, and plush beds are outfitted with linens from Revival. The well-stocked minibar includes wellness favorites Ghia and Ollipop, perfect for responsibly unwinding after a long day. In the bathroom, enjoy the botanical rain shower head while indulging in products by Le Labo.

Each room has a cork yoga mat, which pairs perfectly with the yoga courses from buzzy L.A.-based studio Open , which are available on the in-room Apple TV. The offerings also include meditation and breathwork classes.

Each room also includes a portable Marshall Bluetooth speaker to help keep the party going after you’ve come back from the pool or the Apothecary. I always love rooms that include a Bluetooth speaker and wish they were more common.

At Minerva’s, a menu by chef Jonathan Thoma of Little Angel in Los Angeles features locally sourced plant-forward dishes like a caprese salad, sourdough BLT, and grass-fed beef burgers.

In keeping with the focus on wellness, a full menu of non-alcoholic drinks is also available, including drinks made with sour cherries, cold brew, yuzu, orange, and cinnamon.

The main highlight of Life House Palm Springs is the pool area. You can easily spend an entire day here — read a book on a sunbed in the early morning hours, then hang out with friends with a drink in your hand on one of the many covered cabanas come afternoon.

When the sun begins to set under the mountains, DJs will be on hand to spin hits until the pool closes. That hardly means the party is over, though, since you can then head over to Minerva’s Apothecary to catch another set and slide into one of the intimate booths after you’ve finished dancing. (You can pair it with another cocktail and have a few more bites from the late-night menu.)

The following day, you can practice yoga right back at the pool with one of the many classes offered by guest teachers from around the country. Should you want to wander off-property, a concierge is on hand to provide you with any help you need in the area — I enjoyed a mid-century architecture tour during my stay, and the Palm Springs Art Museum is just five minutes away.

Life House provides cribs for small children upon request. The amazing pool area is not adults only, so kids can partake in the fun as well.

The hotel has multiple ADA-compliant rooms and a wheelchair-enabled entrance and public spaces.

The restaurant is mindful of the local environment and aims to stay as close to the property as possible, even growing some ingredients in its own garden.

We drew inspiration from Palm Springs' local American cuisine, reimagining classics with a plant-forward and mindful twist. Each dish has been crafted to be sustainable, featuring locally sourced ingredients that guests can feel good about,” says Laney Langenstein, vice-president of brand for Life House Hotels. “This ethos extends to our beverage program as well. Our cocktails, ranging from poolside refreshments to evening elixirs, are crafted with ingredients grown in our garden to minimize bar waste.”

Life House Palm Springs is located in the heart of Palm Springs, about four miles from Palm Springs International Airport and two miles from downtown Palm Springs. The hotel is right across the street from the Palm Springs Botanical Garden, so plenty of beauty is visible from the private balconies.

I’ve Waited Decades for a Travel Backpack to Finally Nail This Feature

Black Ember’s new Forge 40 Travel Pack might finally offer everything you could possibly want from an all-in-one carry-on backpack.

I developed an unhealthy obsession with all-in-one travel backpacks in college and have regularly used at least a dozen different versions over the decades (gulp) since then.  

One thing my experience has taught me is that internet-era brands like Aer , DSPTCH , Peak Design , Topo Designs , Tortuga , Matador and others deserve credit for evolving and improving the ideas originally pioneered by classic travel brands like Eagle Creek .

But there’s always been one common travel scenario where every bag I’ve used has fallen frustratingly short.

Acknowledging the elephant in the cabin

Toting everything you need for a trip in a single bag is liberating when you’re on the move, but things can get awkward after boarding a plane or train.

Do you sacrifice your legroom to the gods of travel efficiency to keep essentials close at hand? Or do you scramble to dig through pockets and compartments, pulling out necessities and tossing them into seat pockets before stowing the bag away from your seat in a storage rack?

Experienced travelers who prefer a different choice solve this dilemma by adding another, smaller pouch or hip pack to their travel kit.

Bag maker Black Ember has diligently worked on the problem in its own way for a while now. The company offers Boarding Kit bags, i.e., smaller pouches designed to hold small electronics, chargers and more, in two separate sizes. The brand also already sells a smaller-sized travel backpack with an internal pocket designed specifically to store the Boarding Kit bag. This smaller bag within a bigger bag combo has been the closest thing to an elegant solution I’ve seen in the industry, but it’s not perfect. That’s because accessing the Boarding Kit bag in the smaller Forge 30 requires fully unzipping the bag’s front panel.

But the brand’s new, larger-sized Forge 40 travel backpack seems to finally execute on the concept perfectly. The pack includes a dedicated pocket for the Boarding Kit pouch that’s located in the top of an exterior pocket, making it easy to reach ahead of taking a seat.

The Forge 40 features plenty of other smart storage ideas too

Beyond fully addressing my weirdly specific and longstanding gripe, the Forge 40 also thoughtfully addresses just about every other storage need you’d want from a capable travel backpack.

Two additional exterior pockets offer slots for smaller items and pass-through access to the bag’s larger central compartment, which can hold a weekend’s worth of clothing.

Releasing an expansion zipper also increases the bag’s storage capacity from 30 to 40 liters. Integrated magnetic compression straps make squeezing the bag’s contents easy, too. A quilted EVA foam slot on the back protects a larger 16-inch laptop and a 12-inch tablet.

It’s designed to be carried multiple ways

The Forge 40 is, first and foremost, a backpack, as evidenced by the dual EVA foam-padded shoulder straps, tweakable load-lifters and an integrated magnetic sternum strap. It’s also compatible with an optional hip belt for additional weight distribution on longer treks.

Like many other travel bags, travelers can also carry the Forge 40 like an oversized briefcase thanks to an integrated side handle. And though it’s disappointing that it’s not included with the backpack, an optional shoulder strap provides yet another carrying option. The bag’s so-called butterfly back panel also looks like an intelligent approach to storing the backpack straps out of the way when they aren’t needed.

Thanks to a dedicated handle pass-through strap, the bag can just simple sit securely on a roller board too.

Small security features and rugged materials round it out

The Forge 40 is made of a proprietary textile dubbed EmberTex, which is abrasion-resistant and has a matte black finish that’s common in the category these days.

Like other Black Ember bags, the backpack also features premium YKK Aquaguard zippers with locking zipper pulls.

Together, these features should make the Forge 40 , like other bags of its ilk, reasonably weatherproof, if not fully waterproof.

Currently, the bag is available for pre-order on Kickstarter for an early-bird price of $359, which includes bonuses like the aforementioned longer shoulder strap. A $429 pledge tosses in extras like the Boarding Kit pouch and shoe cube.

The estimated delivery date is December of this year.

Given that the company has already exceeded its desired goal of $5,000, we expect the bag to be available from the company’s website sometime in the future. We’ll be working to review it as well to see how it compares to our current best carry-on travel backpack picks .

‘love’ review: a charming and intelligent norwegian dramedy to win over hearts and minds.

The film, about two colleagues with very different approaches to sex and romance, is the second in a planned thematic trilogy from writer-director Dag Johan Haugerud.

There’s a lot to love about Love (or Kjaelighet ), but the generic English title is not one of them. That handle will get this confused with works by Gaspar Noé and Judd Apatow , among others, and could potentially delay viewers finding it through search engines. Which would be a real shame, because Norwegian writer-director Dag Johan Haugerud’s dramedy, which premiered at Venice, is a refreshing delight.

In contemporary Oslo, Marianne (Andrea Braein Hovig) is a physician specializing in urology, which means we first meet her breaking the bad news to a stunned patient that he has prostate cancer. Nurse Tor (Tayo Cittadella Jacobsen) is in the room at the time, and spots that the patient doesn’t seem to have absorbed what Marianne just told him. He makes a point of seeking the man out to offer clarification. The scene subtly underscores the point that for all of Marianne’s scientific understanding of men’s plumbing and biology, she doesn’t always understand how their minds work — something Tor believes himself to be more conversant with as a gay man.

The two colleagues run into one another on the ferry to an island that’s part of the wider Oslo conurbation. Tor is living there temporarily for the summer; Marianne is heading to a dinner party that’s actually something of a blind date so she can meet the host, Ole Harald (Thomas Gullestad). He’s a geologist who, like nearly all middle-aged single people, has some baggage, in the shape of a young daughter and an alcoholic ex, Solveig (Marian Saastad Ottesen), who live next door to make shared custody easier.

Meanwhile, with the sort of gentle symmetry that makes the film so engaging, we see Tor starting to rethink his commitment to no-strings shagging. On the ferry one night he meets Bjorn (Lars Jacob Holm), a handsome daddy a good 20 years older than Tor who has barely ever used Grindr before. Bjorn shyly backs out of having sex on the boat, but opens up to easygoing Tor in conversation. Some time later, Tor spots him at the hospital clinic where he and Marianne work and notes Bjorn’s agitation over bad news. From there, an at-first-nonsexual relationship develops that brings out Tor’s more domestic, tender side, an aspect that’s clearly helped him to be an excellent nurse.

The unfussy camera setups by DP Cecilie Semec, lit so as to benefit from the low-angle sunlight of Nordic summer nights, unfurl in long languorous takes that just sit back and let the actors do all the work. Fortunately, the cast here is well up to the job, and the dialogue, especially between Hovig and Jacobsen, have a charming musicality about them, like bright duets. Along the way, the film makes some interesting points about friendship as well as romance, especially when it comes to studying the reaction of Marianne’s art historian friend Heidi (Marte Engebrigtsen), who is scandalized by Marianne’s adventures in zipless fucks. Love, to quote that woozy old ballad, is indeed a many-splendored thing that takes many forms — a multiplicity that Love the film is quietly alive to.
