Delivery and Shipping Costs

The goods will be shipped by DHL (or UPS to the USA). The goods that we send by DHL, are always shipped insured.

The shipping costs (within Germany) are a flat rate of 6,95 Euro (incl. VAT) per order. This applies to payment by Paypal as well as by prepayment. If  paying by cash on delivery, this costs additional 6,66 Euro.

Orders from other EU countries (e.g. Austria) we charge a flat rate of 14,90 Euro.

Orders from foreign EU-Countries (e.g. Switzerland, United Kingdom) we charge a flat rate of 25,00 Euro.

Orders from foreign Non-EU-Countries (e.g. USA, Russia) we charge a flat rate of 50,00 Euro.

For delivery to foreign Countries (e.g. Switzerland, United Kingdom, USA) the goods are shipped tax-free. There may be additional costs such as customs clearance, taxes or service charges for import into your home country. Please inform yourself in advance at your customs authority. Please also note that for legal reasons we have to state the value of the items.

All other countries according to cost. 

Replacement parts and accessories are generally excluded from exchange, as they are special procurements. In case of any questions please use our contact form . Our technicians will be glad to help you.

If (in exceptional cases) an exchange or a return is approved, we charge 30% of the value as a restocking fee.

Add the convenience of a Retractable Tether to your Tour- Pak Luggage. When extended to its full length, the strong cord holds the lid open at least 10° past vertical for improved stability and easy packing. Then the device automatically coils the tether cord inside the housing to eliminate pinched cords when closing the lid. The attractive housing with Bar & Shield logo attaches to the existing mounting points and replaces the Original Equipment cord.

Fits '97-'13 Touring and Trike models equipped with a King, Ultra, Chopped or Razor-Pak Tour-Pak Luggage. Will not fit Leather or Sport Tour-Pak Luggage.

I saw that too. It seems like a pretty good idea. Is the cord I'n the new retractable tether plastic coated, lightweight, aircraft cable?  

I've seen the retractable tether. While I see it as a way to avoid a minor annoyance, I don't see how the stock cable sticking out (usually forward) could do any real harm.  

pargenz...yup, I agree. The reason I did it was that I pinched that Motor Company stock tether in the same forward position you talk about. Not noticing it was my fault, and it mis-aligned my latches just enough that when I went to snap them down, I almost snapped one of them off. The latches had always lined up nicely before, and I got complacent.  

It's... ...cable. Assuming stainless. .0510 diameter with the plastic coating. My concern is the termination point inside the retractor, and the mechanics of the retractor itself. I just know it wouldn't be pretty to have the lid fall all the way open if something failed. If you find somebody to blow in a beer bottle, you could play the bass line on the thing when it's stretched tight...grin.  

This is something I have done to my last 2 bikes, even though the cable getting stuck in the lid never broke anything it was a total pain in the ass.....  

retractable I like the stock cable because all I have to do is give it a light tug to close the lid on my tour pack. Of course I have to catch it as it comes over the top but I am sure the new retractable would not allow me to do this. I never have to touch the painted surface because I grasp the tour pak rack and lower it into place.

My Tour Pack Lid Tether broke has anyone else had this happen? What did you replace it with if so the original one or something else? Thanks Tone  

I've read where some have used a thin braided stainless steel line (kinda like a fishing leader)....others have used a small chain......but, IF it were me I'd just replace it with the same HD part. They seem to last a long time and aren't all that costly. The OEM can be had on eBay for about $20...and some others (w/HD logos) go for around $26 at Surdyke, House of Harley, Amazon....etc etc.....lots of places and for such an inexpensive part I would just replace it rather than trying to come up with some sort of DIY solution.  

Trying to remember where I've seen them ... a recoil tether for the tourpak lid. Maybe J&P's. I'll take a look around and post up if I find one.  

The OEM tether from Ronnies H-D p/n 53564-97 is only $3.49 !

For insurance against the tether breaking, I attached/wrapped some 25 lb. fishing line around the tether and tied at both mounting ends. It does not get in the way, and really is not noticeable. If the lid flops open when the tether breaks, you are in for some $$$ outlay.  

I use this. You can find it for about 24.00.
