• Although many of the Kauai sunset cruise boats and catamarans will have an indoor area where you can sit and relax, it is recommended that you bring a light jacket or sweater to wear once the sun goes down. While Hawaii is quite warm and temperate, it can become a bit chilly out on the water once the sun has set.
• Depending on the ocean conditions and the size of the boat used for your Kauai cruise departing from Lihue and Hanapepe, it is recommended that you wear flats or low heeled shoes for your safety since ocean conditions can change at the drop of a hat.
• Although there is no dress code for many of the island's sunset dinner cruises, most guests wear casual or aloha attire.

Fun but very bumpy and wet

The boat itself was nice and the crew were lovely. Thankfully there was a place to hide slightly from the waves but it's also where the sea sickness gets really bad. Unfortunately, there aren’t many tours that leave from Princeville or Hanalei . Holo Holo Charters used to offer tours from the North Shore, but they recently told us that they sold their vessel to  Hanalei Charters .

Unfortunately, Hanalei Charters does not offer a dinner sunset cruise, but they have a Na Pali Snorkel Adventure if you are interested.

Things to Keep In Mind When Booking a Sunset Cruise in Kauai

• While these tours are sunset cruises, the tour companies cannot guarantee that you will see a perfect sunset due to weather conditions that are out of their control. After all, Mother Nature is unpredictable! We have been on sunset cruises multiple times in Kauai and only had this issue twice. We were still glad to see some dolphins and whales to compensate.
• Be sure to arrive early for check-in. These tours depart on time!
• If you are prone to motion sickness , take the necessary medication prior to departure. Always ask the crew for help if needed. The crew will also tell you the best place to sit if you are prone to motion sickness. Learn from my mistakes; I recently went on a whale-watching tour in Kauai and forgot to take/bring my motion sick medication. Let’s just say the tour started fun, but the last hour was brutal. Don’t be like me! Bring your medication or purchase some when you check in to the tour, as most tour companies will sell some.

We’ll be riding in comfort and style on Holoholo , our company’s namesake vessel that was designed and built here on Kauai, by our company’s founder and crew. Chances are we’ll see some ocean wildlife while we’re out there; Hawaiian spinner dolphins, flying fish, green sea turtles, and pelagic sea birds are commonly seen on our Kauai sunset tours, year-round! And from December through April– it’s whale season, when thousands of North Pacific Humpback Whales migrate over 3,000 miles from their summer feeding grounds in Alaska to the warm waters of Hawaii, to mate and calve. • Screen-reader optimization: we run a background process that learns the website’s components from top to bottom, to ensure ongoing compliance even when updating the website. In this process, we provide screen-readers with meaningful data using the ARIA set of attributes. For example, we provide accurate form labels; descriptions for actionable icons (social media icons, search icons, cart icons, etc.); validation guidance for form inputs; element roles such as buttons, menus, modal dialogues (popups), and others. Additionally, the background process scans all of the website’s images and provides an accurate and meaningful image-object-recognition-based description as an ALT (alternate text) tag for images that are not described. About the Fleet:

65′ deluxe catamarans, Blue Dolphin and Blue Dolphin II. Designed by America’s Cup designers and engineers Morrelli & Melvin, the boats are specifically designed to navigate the waters of Kauai for a smooth ride. Aboard there are fresh water showers, spacious bathrooms for both men and women and plenty of room to roam adding comfort to your experience. Both boats recently upgraded with new Lugger 6125 H2 Komatsu engines installed to meet Tier 3 Emissions required by 2017. These engines are gentle on the environment – low rpm, fuel efficient, quiet, producing near zero emissions and little odor, offering you a pleasant passenger experience.

We were unable to cruise to the Napali Coast due to rough seas. However, we had a wonderful time crusing the other coast and whale watching. We also saw spinner dolphins and sea turtles and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful coast and sunset. The food was surprisingly good, not to mention the Mai Tais! Only disappointment was that we had to eat on our laps. Will take the trip again when we return so that we can see the Napali Coast!

This cruise was our favorite part of our Honeymoon! We saw sea turtles, Dolphins and my most memorable – WHALES!! There was a whale that gave us a 5 minute show! Tons of pictures and videos. One of the most exciting times of my life! Loved it! Also, a lot of credit to the Captain and Deck hand. They were awesome and so much fun. Christian whom was one of the deck hands was very helpful and tentative. My husband was sea sick and he helped him get through it and kept checking up on us. Loved the service.

I am travelling to Kauai for a week with my wife and 1.2 year old son. We are eager to see the Na Pali coast during a sunset, but we came across a disclaimer that kids below 2 years are not allowed on the cruise. Are there any exceptions to this disclaimer or do you have any other cruises to Na Pali coast that allows kids below 2 years old. My wife is disoppointed that she won’t be able take the cruise.

We did the sunset cruise along the Napali Coast on Wednesday the 14th and had a wonderful time. They stopped the boat so we could see the spinner dolphins & took us up close to a waterfall. We were close enough to see the rainbow. It was spectacular!!!! Our meal was very good also. We had a great time. The Napali Coast is beautiful and the sunset cruise is an awesome way to see it!!

Is there a reason why pregnant women can’t be on this cruise? Please advise.
