I recently bought this bike used from private party. The bike was very well maintained and is showroom quality. Before this bike I had a Yamaha V Star. Riding this bike home for the first time was sheer pleasure. The bike has endless power, handles like a much lighter bike and riding on the freeway ... felt like I was riding on smooth glass. More than once I noticed I was doing 95mph and didn't even feel it. Since then I am on the bike every chance I get and just love every minute of it. To me, this is the perfect bike.

The 2006 Royal Star Tour Deluxe is the ultimate 2-for-1 deal.

All you have to do is pop on the quick-release touring windshield and passenger backrest, and in a matter of a few seconds, you’ve magically transformed your cool cruiser into a long-haul touring bike. With no compromises in style or comfort. Hit the road.

Engine: 1,294cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC,4-valve, V-4 engine is tuned to produce class-leading power – 98hp @ 6,000 rpm and maximum torque of 89 ft-lb @ 4,750 rpm – for incomparable touring performance.

4-valve per cylinder head design ensures maximum breathing efficiency for greatengine performance.

Four Mikuni BDSR 32mm carburetors with TPS deliver seamless throttle response.

Each carburetor features a single 15-watt heater to ensure consistent fuel/air delivery under varying outside air temperatures.

Dual intake system enhances performance by maximizing the intake volume without sacrificing fuel tank capacity.

Large-capacity radiator ensures superior engine cooling for maximum efficiency.

Single-axis internal counterbalancer reduces engine vibration for maximum rider comfort.

Wide-ratio 5-speed transmission with 4th and 5th overdrive gears reduces engine rpm at highway speeds for smooth, relaxed touring.

Chassis/Suspension

High strength, single-backbone frame with solid engine mounting and 28.8° caster angle (131mm of trail) delivers responsive steering and excellent handling qualities.

Rigid steel swingarm features a hollow left side “arm” that allows the shaft drive to pass through it. Special reinforcements have been added between the swingarm pivot shaft and the arms for additional rigidity. The benefit is predictable, relaxed handling with excellent stability, thanks in part to the extra long 1,715mm (67.5’‘) wheelbase.

Exceptionally roomy ergonomics for maximum rider and passenger touring comfort.

Air-adjustable 43mm front fork with 140mm (5.6’‘) of wheel travel smoothes out the bumps and can be adjusted for varying load capacities.

Air-adjustable link rear suspension features a vertically mounted single shock for that classic hardtail look and outstanding long-distance ride quality. Rear wheel travel is 105mm (4.1’‘)

Air adjustability allows the rider to adjust both front and rear suspension preload to match load and road conditions.

Dual 298mm front disc brakes features twin piston calipers while a 4-piston caliper squeezes the single 320mm rear disc. Both front and rear brakes provide strong, linear stopping power.

Quick, detachable windshield with integrated lower wind deflectors provides excellent wind and weather protection. This windshield can be detached via a dual lever style mechanism within seconds. This design offers the best of two worlds, excellent touring comfort while at the same time allowing the owner to quickly change the unit into a stylish cruiser once at his/her destination.

Easy-to-reach, large-diameter, 1-inch rubber-mounted handlebars provide a comfortable riding position. Polished bar end handlebar weights with special rubber dampers have been added to the ends of the handlebar to further reduce vibration and maximize rider comfort.

Roomy separate rider and passenger seats provide all day riding comfort and support. The overall seat height is 740mm, making it easier to plant both feet firmly on the ground.

Quick detachable passenger backrest provides excellent long distance comfort and confidence for the passenger. Its quick detach design allows a fast transformation from touring machine to stylish cruiser ready to turn heads on your local downtown strip.

Full-sized floating-type rider and passenger floorboards reduce vibration and are positioned for optimal long-distance comfort.

20-liter fuel tank provides an important styling highlight while still providing a good touring-type extended riding range.

Powerful 12V 60/55-watt halogen headlight maximizes nighttime visibility while cutting a stylish profile. The new chrome headlight bezel provides a strikingly stylish design.

‘‘Vintage-style’‘ digital instrumentation features a traditional analog display. The instrument console features include: speedometer, odometer, dual tripmeters and a fuel gauge plus a range of warning lights. The cruise control activation lights are mounted in the centre of the console

Convenient electronic cruise control system. The cruise control operation switch is conveniently located on right handlebar switchgear for ease of use. The operating range is from approx. 50 to 130 kms per hour.

Colour-matched hard saddlebags feature handy, one-touch openers and offer 35- litres of space per bag. The bags are protected by a rugged chromed bar mounted in front of the saddlebags.

Low-maintenance, sealed 18-amp hour battery ensures easy, reliable starting.

Self-cancelling turn signals with new clear white signal lens provide an eye catching appearance

Incomparable fit and finish includes flawless paint, brushed stainless steel accents, and deep valanced steel fenders.

I am the 2nd owner of this 2001 Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe. I bought it 9.5 years ago in July 2006. I do not ride much which is why I am selling it BUT I certainly do not need to. Not giving it away. If it does not sell, it can sit as it does now and I will continue to ride at will. Not a big deal to me. I do not need the money to pay any bills etc. Recently serviced and I have the owners manual and clear title. I bought it with the blemishes you see @ 750 miles. There are a few blemishes or scuffs on the hard side bags. 2 minor dents on the fuel tank. Not easily noticed which is why it is hard for me to get them to show up in the last 2 photos. Only 348 miles as I only go a few hundred a year at most. New Battery purchased several months ago. Not sure if tires are original or not but they are in great shape. I will assist with shipping as I can but cost to ship is Buyers responsibility. The Bike starts and rides effortlessly. No issues. It is a lot of Bike for only $3250. I can assure you; there will be no disappointments at this price. If you don't ride much, want a nice bike and not a lot tied up in it; This is the Bike for you.

AVAILABILITY .   Our website is updated weekly through Yamaha. Occasionally the site will display part status incorrectly or as Unavailable.  Please check back or call us, as the status may change with the next update.  Some parts will display as "back-ordered".  This means the USA warehouses are out of stock. It may be available from Japan immediately, and can ship to us in just a few days.  Some older parts displayed are no longer available.  If so, no price will be shown or they will be marked Discontinued.  We stock thousands of OEM Yamaha parts. If we don’t have it we will find it if available, and ship with your order at our published discount rate.  As stated above, stock levels change weekly so check back or call us for questionable availability. 

SHIPPING.   Orders usually ship from our shipping center the same day as the order is fulfilled.   When parts must come from the manufacture's warehouse, additional time for fulfillment may be required.   Orders will be shipped ”best way” to the shipping address you provide.  Our preferred shipping providers are US Postal Service(USPS Priority) and USPS International (USPS Priority),  and United Parcel Service (UPS Ground). 

OVERSIZE PARTS AND PACKAGES.   On occasion, the online shipping calculator will not recognize the LARGE SIZE of large-lightweight-items such as plastics, fenders, runners, frames, etc.   When your items are packed by us for shipping and there is an additional expense greater than originally charged, we will contact you by phone or email for the additional shipping charges prior to shipping your order.    We apologize that we cannot estimate this in advance but each item and final shipping destination can vary.  Items larger than 130” [(2xheight)+(2xwidth)=130”] or heavier than 70lbs. will be charged a “large package” fee in addition to the regular dimensional/weight  shipping cost.

EXPEDITING YOUR ORDER.  Please contact us soon after placing your order if you wish to expedite your order.  For additional shipping charges we can change your shipping preference.    Note: we do not recommend “3-Day Select” as it is usually not a benefit to the customer.  We offer Express, Next Day and 2nd Day shipping.  When requesting this service please send name, order number and shipping preference to us  via Email. We will reply with cost and payment instructions.

DELIVERY DATES given online or verbally are not guaranteed dates, but are approximate only.  Parts availability, delivery service providers, weather and other factors may affect your delivery.  Delivery delays do not constitute reason for order cancellation (all or partial)  without charging a 20% restock fee of canceled items.

CANCELLED ORDERS. There will be no cancellation charge, when an ordered part is coded UNAVAILABLE, NO ESD (Estimated Ship Date), or DISCONTINUED, by Yamaha.

The cancellation charge for the amount of 20% of the cancelled items total only, when the order has not been completely fulfilled and/or packed for shipment will be subtracted from your refund.

RETURNS.  Refund Requirements:   (No Returns on Electrical Components)

• 20% Restock fee charged for all returned parts.
• EXCEPT, when parts are returned and deemed by seller to be unsatisfactory due to a manufacturers defect.  In such case, parts shall be replaced with the manufacturer’s replacement item at no charge.
• EXCEPT, when parts are returned to the seller in damaged packaging. (see iii. below)
• EXCEPT, when the return is due to our error. We will add your return handling costs to your refund in this case.

All returns require a  YSP Return Authorization  # (RA#) inside each package of returned items.  

We must receive your request for a RAC# no more than 15 days after you receive your order to qualify for a return. 

Part(s) returned MUST BE IN ORIGINAL PACKAGING . Condition and shipping costs of the returned item(s) is the responsibility of the purchaser.  DO NOT tear, cut, tape, re-tape, mark, or write on original boxes or packages, or cover labels or barcodes.  Leave all purchase stickers on packages.  Any part(s) that were sold as part of a bundle or assembly may NOT be returned as individual parts without the complete return of the assembly.

Please do not send us parts that do not meet the return requirements listed above, as we do not issue refunds for non-qualifying items and cannot return the items to you.

To return a product:  Send an email to [email protected]  within 15 days of receiving your order.  In the Subject Line type “RA Request”.   In the e-mail body, list your Name, Online Order Number (found to the right of your first name on your invoice) Mailing Address and Phone Number.  List the Qty. When I went to start my bike today, it didn’t start up as quickly as usual, it cranked for like 30-40 seconds and finally started. When I take the bike off choke it stalls out, however if I leave the choke on, it will idle fine, but it stalls if I try to rev it up a bit. If anyone can point me in the right direction I’d appreciate it. It has never acted up like this until today lol.

Yes, I just bought it about a month ago and the previous owner said it sat for a year.The fuel pump does click when I turn the key. I have driven it a few times and it was fine until today.

Are all 4 exhaust pipes heating up? My experience is that if it runs on choke the carbs are either stopped up or starving for fuel.

Might check air filters to make sure no mouse nests.

Check vent hoses from carbs and make sure they're clear.

Yup have to say it goes towards lean fuel. You may be able to put some sea foam or Berrymans B12 in the tank and run a little to get some in carbs and let it sit a day or so. may un stick some things.

IMHO, it sounds to me too like you are experiencing a starving of fuel condition, very possibly partially plugged jets.. Again,, and understand your getting this from a backyard mechanics pea brain, if you were experiencing a "fat on fuel" condition the symptoms would be the other way around. If it were my bike I would pull the diaphrams and slides, drain the bowls and then refill the bowls with carb cleaner (spray type found at any Auto shop) using a syringe and I would, one at a time, fill the carbs until the carb cleaner flowed out of the emusion tubes that the metering rods on the end of the slides slide into. Once the carb cleaner flows from the emulsion tube on each carb, close the drains and let it sit over night (keep the bike standing as upright as possible - I know the 2nd Gens do not have a center stand like my 1st Gens do which work great for this but maybe placing a board under the side stand getting the as close to standing upright would work in your case unless you have a bike jack you could leave it on?

Next day, hook the syringe back up to one drain at a time, open the drain and pull the cleaner back into the syringe emptying the bowls, look at the carb cleaner, if nasty or discolored, refill syringe with fresh cleaner and repeat. Repeat until all your getting is clear cleaner back into the syringe. Once its clear, force the cleaner back in and pump the syringe to agitate the cleaner in the bowl and then remove with the syringe one more time. Dump the cleaner and refill with good fresh gas and fill the bowls until the gas trickles from the main jets/emulsion tubes. Once all carbs are done put the slides back in, line up the diaphrams, make sure you get the springs back in the caps correctly and put the screws in. Hit starter with no choke and it should start right up on all four. You may have to give it some throttle to get it to clean out.

:sign **** happens:Depending on how it was stored you may want to check your tank for rust, personally I would just check it. If the tank is rusted and you have a plugged fuel filter or petcock screen or, if the carbs are so far gone they need to be taken down and have a full cleaning, that will be much more involved but still VERY doable..

I appreciate the advice everyone.I went to Walmart this evening and picked up a can of sea foam and Berrymans. I disconnected the fuel line from the petcock and used a plastic container to feed into the carbs while it was running a mixture of 40% sea foam and 60 percent gas. I’m going to let it sit for 24 hours and see what happens. If that doesn’t work, then I’ll try the berrymans and cowpucs method.

Bought my 06" RSTD with 6700 miles on it and sitting for over 2 years, in garage. That was Sept. of 2017. The carbs were full of like a green crystal something. had to rebuild and re -jet. after that, fresh oil, plugs and AF's...runs like a champ. Now have just under 15g on the odometer. Fantastic bike.
