Taylor Swift has officially touched down in Ireland to kick off her sold-out Eras Tour concerts at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium tonight, tomorrow night, and Sunday.

Swift took to Instagram on Friday - not long before she took the stage at the Aviva - to share the sweet gesture she received from hometown heroes U2.

“Already feeling that Irish hospitality,” Swift captioned her story that showed the bouquet of flowers sent to her from Bono, Edge, Adam, and Larry.

“U2, thanks for always being the classiest and coolest,” Swift wrote, adding an Irish flag emoji.

Dubbing themselves as Swift’s “Irish fan club,” the U2 lads wrote: “Welcome back to our hometown … Leave some of it standing?!”

On Thursday, An Garda Síochána extended a cead mile failte to Swift (and her Swifites!) while announcing traffic management plans that had been in place.

Marking the occasion, members of the An Garda Siochana were filmed performing a version of Swift's hit song "Shake It Off."

This weekend will be the fourth time Swift is headlining one of her tours in Ireland. She brought her Speak Now world tour to Belfast and Dublin in 2011, her 1989 world tour to Dublin in 2015, and her Reputation world tour to Dublin in 2018.

The Grammy winner has also spent a considerable amount of time in Ireland in a personal capacity, specifically in Co Donegal and Co Limerick . She's also visited Co Wicklow , which she references in her song "Sweet Nothing" from her 2022 album "Midnights."

Last week, EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum revealed that Swift actually has Irish roots .

Taylor Swift Dublin news: Exciting update as Eras Tour start time confirmed

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour will arrive in Ireland in just over a month's time, with three sold-out concerts in Dublin's Aviva Stadium. With the countdown well and truly underway, the shows official start time has been confirmed.

  • 15:22, 22 MAY 2024

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is currently making its way across Europe, and Irish Swifties don’t have much longer to wait until the incredible show comes to Dublin.

There’s just over a month to go until the superstar performs three sold-out concerts in the Aviva Stadium on June 28, 29 and 30. It's the first time the All Too Well singer has performed here since bringing her Reputation Stadium Tour to Croke Park in June 2018.

With the countdown well and truly underway, organisers have confirmed what time the gig is due to start at.

According to the official Taylor Swift Eras Tour website , all three concerts will kick off at exactly 6pm. Paramore are the support act for the Dublin shows, so the band are expected to be on stage at that time.

While the official timings for the entire show are yet to be confirmed, based on the European Eras Tour gigs that have already taken place, Paramore are likely to perform for around 45 minutes - from 6pm until 6.45pm - with Taylor Swift probably taking to the stage around 7.30pm. The mammoth show, which lasts over three hours, would likely finish up at around 10.45pm.

The promoters will confirm the full timings closer to the concerts.

It comes as many fans are still desperate to get their hands on tickets, which sold out almost instantly after going on sale last year. All hope is not lost, as there is still a chance for Swifties to see the impressive performance in person.

Those who can’t attend the Dublin shows may resell their tickets before the Fortnight singer takes to the stage in June. Ticketmaster has officially activated resale for the Aviva Stadium concerts, however ticket transfer will not be made available until much closer to the date of the shows. Once it goes live, tickets will likely be snapped up very quickly, but fans can keep an eye on Ticketmaster HERE for official resale tickets and they could get lucky.

Another option to consider is ticket resale websites. Viagogo is selling Eras Tour tickets for the shows across Europe and the UK, with some currently available for less than €50 ! This is less than their original price, which ranged from €86 to €206 for Dublin.

By purchasing from retailers like Viagogo, fans have been able to buy their perfect tickets - standing or seated - for their gig of choice. However, the trade-off is that the prices may be different to the original face value of the Taylor Swift tickets, and fans are buying at their own risk. But, considering this is one of the only ways to get access to the gigs right now, it may be your best bet.

If you can manage to make your way to Lisbon, Portugal this weekend, Viagogo has a number of low price Eras Tour tickets , from as little as €48, at the time of writing. You can see full details HERE .

For those willing to travel outside of Ireland, fans can snag tickets this very moment to other venues . As well as Dublin, the 34-year-old is bringing the concert to UK venues in Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cardiff and London, as well as European venues in Lisbon , Madrid, Lyon, Amsterdam, Zurich, Milan, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Munich, Warsaw and Vienna.

Last month, we scoured the internet for tickets to some of the European and UK venues and rounded up the cheapest resale tickets available at the time of writing, for any Swifties who may want to see the Eras Tour and make a holiday out of it. You can check out the full round up HERE .

Many of the venues are hosting several nights of the concert, so it might be worth exploring all the different options to find a seat or standing ticket within your budget. You can do so on Viagogo HERE .

Should you buy Taylor Swift resale tickets?

Taylor Swift fans may be looking for tickets to the star's Eras Tour shows by any means necessary. However, they may find fear in looking at products being sold by the aforementioned reseller sites, such as Viagogo .

Viagogo's ticket guarantee reads: "When You purchase tickets on viagogo, viagogo guarantees that you will receive the tickets you paid for in time for the event. In the rare instance that a problem arises and the original ticket seller does not provide you with the tickets listed for sale, viagogo will, in its discretion, review comparably priced tickets and offer you replacement tickets at no additional cost, or viagogo will issue you a refund for the cost of the tickets.

"'Comparably priced' replacement tickets are determined by viagogo in its discretion. When you sell tickets on viagogo, provided you provide the exact tickets listed for sale and the ticket buyer successfully gains entry to the event, viagogo guarantees that you will be paid for your sale."

Meanwhile, Ticketmaster and AXS - Taylor Swift's official retailers - also released a statement claiming that any tickets purchased other than authorised retailers would not be valid. They said: "The only way to obtain a valid ticket for Taylor Swift’s shows is via the approved ticket agents. In the UK, the approved ticket agents are Ticketmaster, AXS or directly through the venue’s website. In Ireland, the approved ticket agent is Ticketmaster. Any tickets found to be purchased via re-sale on the non-official secondary market will not be valid for entry into the concerts and will be cancelled in accordance with the terms and conditions of sale.

"Through official resale facilities, ticket resale prices are capped to help combat the inflation of ticket prices and put a stop to ticket touting. For more information on official resale facilities, fans should visit the website of their approved ticket agent. These resale facilities enable fans to sell their tickets with confidence and empower fans to purchase resale tickets with the assurance that the ticket they are purchasing is genuine."

Fans attending live events with tickets acquired through resale websites are advised to double check the ticket terms and conditions at the point of sale - such as Ticketmaster or Live Nation - to ensure a smooth live event experience. Tickets could be voided if they were found to be bought second-hand. As a result, fans are buying at their own risk.

With that said, Viagogo also commented: "viagogo is a regulated marketplace where fans have the guarantee."

Everything you need to know ahead of Eras Tour Dublin as Taylor Swift makes divisive changes

eras tour ireland twitter

Taylor Swift fans, brace yourself, the Eras Tour setlist is getting a makeover!

The All Too Well singer kicked off the European leg in Paris last night and she’s made some pretty significant changes to the setlist, with some fans up in arms by the omissions.

Today's top videos

Story continues below.

The Shake It Off global  star  will take to the Aviva Stadium stage in the Irish capital for three must-see shows from June 28-30.

But sadly, for Irish swifties who are fond of the Folklore and Evermore eras, things are about to look very different.

Swift has removed multiple songs from four of the Eras, including Lover, Speak Now, Folklore and Evermore.

The scrapped songs include; The Archer, Long Live, The 1, The Last Great American Dynasty, Tis The Damn Season, and Tolerate It.

eras tour ireland twitter

Fearless, 1989 and Midnights have all remained untouched.

It now seems as though Swift is performing both Folklore and Evermore them together instead of as separate eras.

While this is disappointing for fans of the later albums, Swift has been known to switch up the set-list from country to country, with changes likely to be made prior to her Dublin shows.

eras tour ireland twitter

The changes were made in order to accommodate seven new songs from Swift’s recently released album, The Tortured Poet’s Department.

These songs are as follows;

  • But Daddy, I Love Him
  • So High School
  • Who’s Afraid Of Little Old Me
  • The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived
  • I Can Do It With A Broken Heart

Other changes to the set include several costume changes as well as new updated looks for the European leg. It also seems that each era now has a new costume attached to it.

If Paris is anything to go by, Dublin will see Taylor begin the concert with  Lover the Fearless era, then Red, Speak Now, Reputation, a combination of the Folklore / Evermore albums, then 1989 before debuting the brand new The Tortured Poets Department Era, and finally, Midnights.

Pop goddess Taylor Swift has just announced she is adding not one, not two, but 14 new dates to the UK and European leg of her 2024 Eras tour.

Taking to Twitter to share the news with fans, the 32-year-old said: Really can’t contain my excitement because… we’re adding 14 new shows to The Eras Tour. And I get to travel the world doing shows with @paramore !!

"Hayley and I have been friends since we were teens in Nashville and now we get to frolic around the UK/Europe next summer??? I’m screaming???"

Her dates for Dublin next summer will now be June 28, June 29 and June 30 being the new date.

Ticketmaster's official UK account has also posted: "Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour is coming to the UK for thirteen nights from 07 June to 17 August 2024 with NEW shows added in June. All shows with special guest Paramore."

It comes as fans have been waiting "all day" today (July 5) to see if they have successfully been selected to gain access to the singer-songwriter's presale tickets. Ticketmaster will be emailing those who registered in advance to inform them whether they have been successful or not - leaving many "anxious" and "stressed" online.

A Ticketmaster spokesperson said: "If you are selected to receive an access code, you will receive an email the afternoon before the ticket sales begin. This email will include timing details and a link to where the on-sale will occur, and your unique, non-transferrable access code."

It is important to note that Ticketmaster has announced access for the singer's 2024 UK Eras tour tickets will be handed out on a first come, first served basis, "while currently available inventory lasts." After waiting hours, fans have taken to social media to say they have finally begun receiving their all-important Ticketmaster email.

I Took My Daughter to See the Eras Tour in Ireland—And Lived to Tell the Tale

The day I decided to have a baby on my own , I met a famous Irish movie star at a Sam Shepard play and asked if he wanted to be my anonymous sperm donor. When he apologized that he’d recently had a vasectomy (“I’m fixed, darlin’!”), I asked if he knew Colin Farrell.

Which is to say, I’ve always been obsessed with the Irish. Growing up in Massachusetts in a tight-knit Jewish family that never drank much or mingled, many of my friends were from wicked fun and wickedly funny Irish families, who socialized like it was a high art. I idolized them, and all their shenanigans.

My Irish fetish never faded. And why would it? Samuel Beckett. Sharon Horgan! Sweater weather. The Boston Celtics. Irish twins. Irish goodbyes. Irish coffee. Lucky Charms! Normal People . The Hot Priest! Stoicism. Chitchat. Guilt. Humor! Hell!

When I did indeed get pregnant with an anonymous sperm donor (not Irish, as I ultimately didn’t want to deal with the sunblock) my mother urged me not to name an innocent child “Siobhan Shelasky.” So instead, I leaned into mainstream Irish grandma-core, and named my baby Hazel.

Hazel is now nine years old. And a lot has happened . I met a great guy (a quarter Irish!) when she was a baby, and we’ve since had another child, a boy, named River. We all love each other very much—but possibly not quite as much as Hazel loves Taylor Swift .

So, with the news that The Eras Tour was coming to Dublin, coupled with my uncanny attachment to Ireland, we (well, I) decided to plan a family trip there. Hazel and I would go to the concert, and then the four of us would explore the country I’ve romanticized forever.

In case our travel plans went sideways, I waited until the airport to tell Hazel about the concert. To maximize the reveal, I pulled some strings to get us into the new, super-luxe Delta One lounge—the It girl of all airport lounges, according to the deities at Las Culturistas . We sat down at a bistro table that felt like we were in Balthazaar, and I handed Hazel a present of 30 friendship bracelets, code for: We are going to Taylor Swift! We screamed. We cried. Then instantly, a beaming tween ran over and asked Hazel if she wanted to swap bracelets, and if they could be friends. Then another Delta One Swiftie came over. And another! Each time, my heart swelled.

On to Dublin. I was told by my jet-set literary agent that the Shelbourne was the place to be, and she was right. The lobby, restaurants, and lounges were aflutter with bubbly, attractive people all day and night. (More than once, I thought to myself, “To be single and child-free and sitting at that bar….”)

I Took My Daughter to See the Eras Tour in Ireland—And Lived to Tell the Tale

Instead, though, I paced nervously while considering our journey to the Aviva Stadium, overwhelmed by the minutiae that go into attending a massive event in a foreign country. The heroic team at the Shelbourne, however, took special care of all its Swiftie guests, of which there were hordes. Dublin as a whole, that weekend, was a sea of young women shimmering in watermelon Glow Recipe and Forever 21 sequins. (I wore a more sensible look of a black tee with chunky rhinestones, mom jeans, and white Freda Salvador flats.)

The concert was, needless to say, heaven on a homemade scone. Hazel sang and danced for hours straight. I too sang and danced, while sporadically crying my eyes out every time I looked up at the steel blue sky, thinking about everyone I’ve ever loved, and anyone I’ve ever lost. (Ireland will do that to you—it’s heavy!) The friendship bracelets and free hugs came faster and more feverishly at the show. I’ve never seen such an extroverted, inclusive, open-hearted community as the Swifties. And I’ve been to BravoCon.

7 Signs You’re Not Drinking Enough Water

But the come-down, plus the jet lag, was rough—and by day three in Dublin, even Hazel was ready to leave the electromagnetic Swiftie scene to chill in the countryside. Our first stop was Dromoland Castle , in County Clare, a sprawling country pile set on 500 acres of wildflowers, lily ponds, golf courses, tennis courts, and helicopter landing strips. (Think Saltburn meets Logan Roy meets Champagne all day.) Once we got over the shock factor of staying in a proper castle and being treated like real-life royalty, we took a falconry lesson with a falconer named Clementine and a hawk named Aria. We relaxed in the drawing room over chicken goujons (for the kids) and frothy iced lattes (for us). We strolled through the woods, with little fairy abodes galore, making wishes for ourselves and each other and the world. My mother always says old money loves no money (which doesn’t really track), but nevertheless, it might explain why I felt the love at Dromoland.

From the castle, we drove inland toward Cashel Palace in County Tipperary, a grand manor owned by ultra-wealthy horse people who have exceptional taste in art, rugs, upholstery, sconces, settees, sea-salted chocolate, and staff. Think: your fabulous and rich Auntie’s country house, and then give her a couple more million, and an “ equine concierge ” who looks a little like Emily Blunt. The best part about the Cashel Palace, for me, was the location. We had the Rock of Cashel, a spiritual and historical wow , in our backyard, and a charming Irish town in the front, which meant I could easily pop out to escape my kids who were, at this point, in their “murder each other” era. With the whole intimate yet palatial, run-by-a-prestigious-family, dazzling nature of it all, the Cashel Palace reminded me of my favorite hotel in the world, the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni on Lake Como.

Image may contain Home Decor Lamp Couch Furniture Art Painting Desk Table Plant Animal Horse Mammal and Rug

Which leads me to mention that Ireland is… not Lake Como. The July weather—chilly, rainy, with seldom sun—can be disheartening. Symptomatic of that, none of the sundresses that I packed worked, which sounds superficial but is shorthand for—vulnerability alert—I kind of looked like crap, a mild indignity on holiday. Luckily, baggy clothes are probably for the best. The food in most of Ireland, while hearty and honest, is what one might call gut-unfriendly. (Would a wee kale salad kill ya?) But if it sounds like I was turning on Ireland, I was not. Not exactly. I was just a bit worried that the absence of good hair days (on my end) and decent avocado toast (on their end), might make for a destination that was not particularly… sexy. Which is fine, as it was a family trip, but would I actually yearn to return?

As I wondered about that, we made our way south to a seaside hotel in Waterford that was the one wildcard reservation. I had a Hotels.com gift card that could cover something special, and so I rolled the dice and went with a random place I had never heard of or read about called The Cliff House in the fishing village of Ardmore. After an hour on the road, with little expectations, our eyes began to widen at the aquamarine water ahead. A flowery, beachy, superchill oasis—straight out of an indie film directed by Sofia Coppola—was up around the bend. And it slowly unfolded to be what I would call: Irish Malibu. Suddenly, not only was Ireland crazy stupid sexy, but it was finally in a healthy relationship with the sun.

Image may contain Animal Canine Dog Mammal Newfoundland Pet Nature Outdoors Promontory Water Scenery and Land

The Cliff House was built so that every room faces the sea. The whole thing has a funky 1970s feel. I sort of anticipated a washed-up rockstar to surface from the bar, but instead, cheerful friends and families perched on a big cliffside terrace, drinking, smoking, gossiping—European summer style. For the first time all trip, I recited the three transcendent words: Aperol spritz, please? Back in our groovy room after swimming in the ocean, sunkissed and satisfied on every level, Hazel turned up Taylor’s apropos song, “Style”: And when we go crashing down, we come back every time… ’Cause we never go out of style, we never go out of style.

By now, I was beginning to feel a bit depressed as our very own Eras Tour of Ireland was drawing to a close. But we had a marvelous time. The country is as warm and welcoming as the band of Swifties. Our trip embodied The Tortured Poets Department and Folklore all at once. Best hotels. Deep thoughts. Crashing waves. I felt proud that I made the concert happen, just as I made my own motherhood happen. I always knew I’d give my daughter a happy life—I just had no idea the soundtrack would be this good.

Since then, Swift has released five brand-new albums and a slew of rerecorded albums and has reached unfathomable levels of fame in the process. Leading up to Swift’s three shows in Dublin, the “I Hate It Here” singer played her first set of dates in London, England. The Grammy-winning artist packed in many surprises for the Swifties in attendance at each London show, leaving fans wondering what may go down in Dublin.

The sure-fire way to find out what Swift has in store for her upcoming shows at Aviva Stadium — like what “surprise songs” she’ll sing during the acoustic set — is by tuning into livestreams of the Night 1, Night 2 and Night 3 shows in London.

Where to watch livestreams of ‘The Eras Tour’ shows in Dublin, Ireland

There are a handful of reliable streamers Swifties can rely on for livestreams, with the first being Tess Bohne, or tessdear. This streamer consistently has backup “Eras Tour” streams to switch to if/when problems arise, which is greatly appreciated for those who don’t want to scroll their life away looking for another stream on social media.

You can check out Bohne’s livestream on TikTok here or Instagram here . This streamer usually goes live for Paramore’s opening set, which is expected to start in Dublin at 6 p.m. local time each night, or noon CT.

Another streamer who also keeps a backlog of streams to switch to when needed is taylorswifthockeybro on YouTube. Taylor Swift announces new Irish concert date and surprise support band for Eras Tour

The singer confirmed 14 new shows across Europe, including a third Dublin date on Sunday, June 30.

Taylor Swift performs onstage during "Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour " at Paycor Stadium on June 30, 2023 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Taylor Swift has announced an extra tour date in Ireland bringing some music to the ears of fans desperate to get their hands on tickets.

The US star sent fans in Ireland into a frenzy last month, as she announced she will be bringing her Eras Tour to Dublin next year.

Swift was already scheduled to perform in Dublin’s Aviva Stadium for two nights on Friday, June 28, and Saturday, June 29, 2024.

And now she has confirmed she will play a third night in Dublin, Sunday, June 30.

The Lover hitmaker announced the date is part of 14 extra nights she is adding to the European and UK leg of her 2024 Eras tour.

In an announcement, she said: “Really can’t contain my excitement because… we’re adding 14 new shows to The Eras Tour.”

The singer also announced she will be joined on tour by Paramore, adding: “And I get to travel the world doing shows with @paramore!! Hayley and I have been friends since we were teens in Nashville and now we get to frolic around the UK/Europe next summer??? I’m screaming???

The news comes as fans have been eagerly awaiting confirmation of their pre-sale tickets, following huge demand for the tickets nationwide, and around the globe.

Taylor Swift announces European Eras Tour with Irish dates

The Love Story hitmaker has already been selling out multiple nights at massive stadiums across the US since March of this year, so demand for tickets has been huge as she finally makes her way to Ireland and around Europe.

Tickets for all UK and Europe dates will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, while ticket inventory lasts.

Organizers have warned: "We expect there will be more demand than there are tickets available. A limited number of fans will get access to the sale, and others will be put on the waitlist. Getting access to the sale doesn’t guarantee tickets.

"Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you aren’t initially selected, you’ll be placed on the waitlist and may receive an invitation if any further tickets become available."

Halfway through her sold-out US tour, the superstar sent fans into a meltdown as she officially confirmed she will be adding extra dates to the Eras Tour schedule, including two nights in Dublin.

She has also revealed UK dates for Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cardiff and London.

The UK and Europe leg will be kicking off on 9 May 2024 in Paris and wrap up on 17 August 2024 in London.

Taylor Swift Eras tour: London setlist and everything you need to know

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

Forget the Euros, Glastonbury or Wimbledon. The hottest tickets in the UK and Ireland this summer are for one show only: Taylor Swift’s Eras tour , which has now finished its run in Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cardiff, Dublin and London – until August, that is, when the singer will return to cover Wembley Stadium in another five nights’ worth of sequins, friendship bracelets and VIP guests.

What time do gates open?

Secret songs

How long is the concert?

Of course, actually getting tickets for the biggest tour in a generation – my colleague, Neil McCormick , wrote in his recent definitive review that the Eras tour is “worthy of six stars” and more akin to a religious ritual than a pop concert – is only half of the battle. You might have beaten the Ticketmaster queue and planned an outfit, but are you ready for a three-hour extravaganza packed with secret clues and rituals?

Eras tour UK dates

Swift is playing five more dates in the UK and Ireland:

August 15-20: London, Wembley Stadium

Here’s your one-stop shop for everything you need to know about the UK and Ireland leg of the Eras tour – past, present and future – from timings, support acts and the 46-strong setlist to potential secret songs and special guests.

Fans with early entry should be able to enter Wembley from 4pm, with general ticket holders permitted from 4.30pm.

Swift’s main performance will begin between 7pm and 7.20pm (with the primary support act, Paramore, taking to the stage around 6pm, and the earlier opener expected around 4.30-5pm).

Which songs are on the setlist?

In order, the full setlist is as follows:

From Lover:

Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince

Cruel Summer

You Need to Calm Down

From Fearless:

You Belong With Me

We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together

I Knew You Were Trouble

All Too Well (10 minute version)

From Speak Now:

From Reputation:

…Ready For It?

Don’t Blame Me

Look What You Made Me Do

From Folklore/Evermore:

Champagne Problems

Illicit Affairs

My Tears Ricochet

Blank Space

Shake It Off

Wildest Dreams

From The Tortured Poets Department:

But Daddy I Love Him

So High School

Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?

The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived

I Can Do It With A Broken Heart

Surprise song section (see below)

From Midnights:

Lavender Haze

Midnight Rain

Vigilante Shit

The majority of the Eras setlist hasn’t changed since Swift kicked off the tour in Arizona last March – it still opens with Lover and ends with Midnights, spanning 46 songs and 10 albums (her poor Debut still doesn’t get a look in). But the arrival of The Tortured Poets Department back in April resulted in a predictable switch-up, with certain songs taken off the setlist (The Archer, Long Live, The 1, The Last Great American Dynasty, ’Tis the Damn Season and Tolerate It) to make room for seven from the new album.

Fans disappointed at the changes can always hold out hope that one will appear as a secret song during the acoustic set – which immediately follows The Tortured Poets Department’s section.

The secret songs played so far – and what could be next

The secret song (or acoustic) section of the show is easily the most anticipated by fans. Every night is different – although Swift has abandoned her rule from the US leg that secret songs can only be played once, unless a mistake was made – with Swift having 11 albums of material to choose from.

Swift has swapped performing two full secret songs for ‘mashups’ including, usually, two or three tracks. Here is the full list of secret songs from each UK show so far, and which could be next.

Edinburgh night one:

Would’ve Could’ve, Should’ve/I Know Places

‘Tis the Damn Season/Daylight

Edinburgh night two:

The Bolter/Getaway Car

All of the Girls You’ve Loved Before/Crazier

Edinburgh night three:

It’s Nice to Have a Friend/Dorothea

Haunted/Exile

Liverpool night one:

I Can See You/Mine

Cornelia Street/Maroon

Liverpool night two:

This Is What You Came For/Gold Rush

The Great War/You’re Losing Me

Liverpool night three:

Carolina/No Body, No Crime

The Manuscript/Red

Cardiff:

I Forgot That You Existed/This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things

I Hate It Here/The Lakes

London night one:

Hits Different/Death By A Thousand Cuts

The Black Dog/Come Back Be Here/Maroon

London night two:

thanK you aIMee/Mean

Castles Crumbling (with Hayley Williams)

London night three:

Us (with Gracie Abrams)

Out of the Woods/Is It Over Now?/Clean

Dublin night one:

State of Grace/You’re on Your Own Kid

Sweet Nothing/Hoax

Dublin night two:

The Albatross/Dancing With Our Hands Tied

This Love/Ours

Dublin night three:

Clara Bow/The Lucky One

You’re On Your Own Kid

Our predictions:

British fans will be delighted that London Boy and So Long, London live to see another day as potential surprise songs; surely, the first will be turned into a shorter mash-up (I can’t see her playing it in full, what with it being a love letter to her ex boyfriend - awkward) and the latter played on the final night at Wembley on August 20. There’s a few collaborations with British artists that haven’t been played yet, either: I Don’t Wanna Live Forever (featuring One Direction’s Zayn Malik), Everything Has Changed (Ed Sheeran) or Florida!!! (Florence Welch), so they’re looking likely.

Taylor Swift’s set lasts for three hours and 15 minutes: up there with career-spanning performances from Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney and The Cure.

The main show begins with the appearance of a ticking clock on stage, which counts down from a total of two minutes while songs from Lady Gaga (Applause) and Lesley Gore (You Don’t Own Me) play in the background.

Once the countdown reaches zero, dancers brandishing ginormous, pastel-hued flags walk out on stage to a backing track listing her various albums (the crowd’s biggest scream being reserved for when it says “My name is Taylor, and I was born in 1989!”). Then, the fabric flags fall to the floor, lifts and reveals Swift beneath, in the centre, ready to be hoisted up on a rising stage block to sing a short version of opener Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince (from Lover) before going straight into her biggest streaming hit, Cruel Summer.

Swift takes no substantial breaks during the three-hour plus set – aside from various outfit or stage changes in between Eras – but there are fleeting moments you can rest, including after the Speak Now section (which is a mere single song, Enchanted) which has a slightly longer interval before Swift begins to perform songs from Red. Don’t forget, either, to put on the special wristband you’re handed on entry – it flashes different colours throughout the set and can often signal surprise songs or special moments.

Prepare your friendship bracelets

Whether you’re a bona fide Swiftie or the parent or guardian of one, I guarantee you will have heard of friendship bracelets. Inspired by a lyric from Midnights’ You’re On Your Own, Kid (“So make the friendship bracelets / Take the moment and taste it”), Swift’s fans wear armfuls of homemade, largely plastic bracelets featuring beads that spell out song names or inside jokes.

Then, once at the show, the fans “trade” bracelets with each other to make new friends. The internet is full of tutorials on how to make them, but if your show is drawing closer and you’re yet to make any, Amazon Prime is your best bet.

What to pack?

Despite what Gen Zs on TikTok may suggest, the Eras tour is just a concert. Thus, it doesn’t necessitate buying fancy new cameras, iPhones, earplugs or battery packs – but you would be wise to pack a jumper (it gets cold – and the ones for sale on the official merchandise will set you back around £60); those friendship bracelets, as well, of course, as your ticket.

The tour is completely sold-out for all dates, but it is worth keeping an eye on your emails as Ticketmaster are reportedly sending out last-minute purchase codes ahead of each date.

What to wear?

Sequins, glitter, cowboy hats – anything goes, as long as you go for it. Find the link to our all-ages guide on what to wear to Swift’s Era’s tour below.

Learn the fan lyrics

If you’re lucky enough to have tickets to the Eras tour, learning 11 albums worth of songs – plus the Vault tracks from her ‘Taylor’s Version’ rerecords – might seem like an impossible task. Unluckily, it’s not just Swift’s 274 official singles (46 of which make up the setlist) that you need to know, because the crowd adds special lines to multiple songs.

During Delicate, from Reputation, fans yell the chant “One, two, three, let’s go b—h!” after she sings “We can’t make any promises, now can we, babe?” Chart-topping revenge anthem Bad Blood, meanwhile, taken from 2014’s 1989, sees fans screech the end of the line “You forgive / You forget / But you never let it go”. Swift’s knowing winks during the songs indicate she knows exactly what the crowd is gearing up for.

Who are the support acts?

US pop-rock band Paramore are the primary support act for all UK Eras shows, and typically begin their 45-minute set at 6pm. There were extra support acts for the first three shows at Wembley Stadium (Mette, Griff and Benson Boone), but ones for the August dates have yet to be announced.

Standout moments so far – concert by concert

The Eras tour is a tightly-run ship revolving around immaculate choreography, a watertight setlist and a performer renowned for her professionalism, but that doesn’t mean every single night is the same. The weather can be temperamental, Swift could bring out a special guest, or you might just spot your favourite A-lister lurking within the crowd (or, more likely, the coveted VIP tent in front of the sound desk). And of course, there’s the secret song section, for which we’ve dedicated a separate section above this one.

Edinburgh: Night One

Fans present at the opening show in Edinburgh were quick to record the moment Swift had to take a break from performing Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve on acoustic guitar – as part of the secret songs set – because of a pesky hand-cramp. As Swift put it: “My hand has frozen in a weird way. This has never happened before!”

Videos of her shivering on stage suggest the reliably-volatile Scottish weather was to blame. Another highlight came courtesy of her backing dancer Kam, recently in the news for his decision to buy a kilt (after worrying it was cultural appropriation), who contributes a city-specific line to We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together – Edinburgh’s first one being “Ya wee raj”. Think of it as Taylor does Trainspotting.

Edinburgh: Night Two

Proving that the secret song section is truly what gets the crowd (and internet) talking, Swift’s decision to perform Crazier, a track taken from 2009’s Hannah Montana: The Movie – that she has never played live before – had Swifties around the globe hyperventilating, not least because its inclusion suggested it will appear on the rerecording of her debut album.

Elsewhere, fans of Amazon Prime Video’s hit Outlander would have been wise to peer towards the VIP tent, where the show’s cast – including Sam Heughan – were busy dancing the night away.

Edinburgh: Night Three

Scottish singer Nina Nesbitt, who watched the third show from the VIP tent, shared a moving message on Instagram about her long-term love for Swift. The 29-year-old, who hails from West Lothian, wrote: “It was so special to hear the songs that made me want to pick up a guitar back in the place I’m from”.

Swift’s influence was also keenly felt during her surprise performance of Exile, in which the crowd – all 73,000 of them – dutifully sang Bon Iver’s parts of the song; you can see her joy in videos from the performance in which she’s grinning, in disbelief, that this many people know her music this inside-out.

Liverpool: Night One

You’ll be surprised to learn that Liverpool’s biggest Swiftie is not, in fact, a random teenage girl singing along to Fearless in her bedroom. Jurgen Klopp, the former Reds manager, who has spoken of his love for Swift’s music before, showed up on the first night at Anfield (wearing pink heart-shaped sunglasses, no less) to show his support. Elsewhere, Swift performed I Can See You, a Vault track from Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), as the first secret song - fitting given it was filmed in the city last year. No appearance from Sir Paul McCartney - also an avid Swiftie - but there’s two nights left…

Swift used her 100th Eras Tour show to confirm that the tour will end this year, ending speculation that more dates would be added. “The celebration of the 100th show for me means this is the very first time I’ve acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is going to end in December. Like, that’s it,” she told the rain-sodden crowd at Anfield. “I think that this tour has really become my entire life,” she said during her intro to All Too Wel. “It’s taken over everything. I think I once had hobbies, but I don’t know what they were anymore.

“All I do when I’m not on stage is sit at home and try to think of clever acoustic song mash-ups and think about what you might want to hear.”

Liverpool: Night Two

Stood just a few heads back from where Swift was seated for the surprise songs set, nothing could have prepared me for the first track: This Is What You Came For, the 2016 hit originally performed by Calvin Harris and Rihanna – that Swift wrote. It will surely be on Reputation (Taylor’s Version); Harris, Swift’s superstar DJ ex-boyfriend, clearly couldn’t be bothered to deal with the social media attention, because he deleted his account on X after this performance. I’ve seen Swift on multiple tours, in wildly different stages of her career, but seeing her on Eras – so confident and self-assured – is a privilege.

British rising star Griff, who will open for Swift on the second night at Wembley, was also present - warning that “if I don’t have a voice next week at Wembley it’s because I lost it at Eras a week early.”

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Griff (@wiffygriffy)

Liverpool: Night Three

A highlight of the Red set is always We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, when Swift’s dancer Kem tries out his best local slang. The third night in Scouseland saw him listen to the TikTok advice and yell “Jog on lad,” much to the delight of the crowd. The Red trend continued through to the surprise songs, when Swift performed the title track from that album – an ode to love, but for one night only, Liverpool FC. Or, of course, the Kansas City Chiefs.

A special mention goes to the Swifties who dedicated a selection of friendship bracelets to victims of the Hillsborough disaster.

Swift had obviously been doing her homework before heading to the Welsh capital’s Principality Stadium, as she uttered a number of Welsh phrases throughout the gig, from “Shwmae Cardiff” (Hello Cardiff) to “Croeso I daith Eras” (Welcome to the Eras tour) and “Un, dau, tri, pedwar” (1, 2, 3, 4). Fan favourite dancer Kam, meanwhile, went for “ych a fi!” (gross) during We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together. As the only indoor/closed-roof concert of the UK leg of Eras, meanwhile, some fans in Cardiff were left disappointed there was no firework display during Karma, the closing song.

London: Night One

The first night in the capital was always going to be starry, and Wembley certainly didn’t disappoint. Swift’s boyfriend, the NFL star Travis Kelce, showed up with his brother Jason, along with supermodel Cara Delevingne, fashion designer Stella McCartney, actresses Rosamund Pike, Salma Hayek and Nicola Coughlan and even Labour leader Keir Starmer (with his wife, Victoria). Meanwhile, the Prince of Wales opted to celebrate his 42nd birthday at the show , watching from a private box with his children.

As always, the surprise songs segment proved a winner, as Swift launched into The Black Dog, for the first time ever, which was inspired by her past visits to an unassuming boozer in Vauxhall. Swift has always had a special relationship with London, having lived here for a time when she was dating British actor Joe Alwyn, meaning her first night at Wembley (she has played at the stadium before, as part of 2018’s Reputation tour) was always going to be special. Little wonder she called it “the most exhilarating city in the world”! She even got the weather to bend to her every whim, with the day’s rare sun giving way to rain during Midnight Rain.

London: Night Two

The second night at Wembley took a look at Friday’s guestlist and said oh no, you’re not getting away with that. Two future Kings and a (potential) future Prime Minister had nothing on the second night’s VIP guests: Tom Cruise, Greta Gerwig, Liam Hemsworth, Rachel Zegler, Jamie Dornan, Hugh Grant (eating a bag of carrots in the VIP tent, no less), Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Emily Maitlis, Beth Mead and, again, Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce (seemingly with his full family in tow).

The show turned into a “who’s who” of Hollywood, but it was the appearance of Swift’s beloved mother, Andrea - who got choked up by a hero’s welcome from fans - that touched the heartstrings. Eighteen years of guiding her daughter later, and she’s the biggest popstar in the world, her tickets a hotter commodity than gas or oil (*kind of).

even after all these years, she is so touched by the love of her daughter's fans, and so incredibly proud of taylor's impact. 🥹🫶🏻💜 pic.twitter.com/2fOjuRkaqn — swiftie wins (@swifferwins) June 22, 2024

Also, the secret song choices made this path even more poignant: first up was thanK you aIMee (the capitalised letters spell out Kim, widely thought to be a reference to former nemesis Kim Kardashian) crossed with Mean, Swift’s Grammy-winning country single about classmate jibes and irrelevant haters from Speak Now, where she swapped the lyrics to “Someday I’ll be singing this song at Wembley”. Then came a long-awaited duet with Paramore’s Hayley Williams for Castles Crumbling, also from Speak Now, a sparkling showcase for both women’s talents - and mutual respect and adoration.

London: Night Three

Travis Kelce appearing on stage as one of Swift’s backing performers for I Can Do It With A Broken Heart! The Sir Paul McCartney trading friendship bracelets from the VIP tent, where he was hanging out with daughter Stella! Swift bringing close friend Gracie Abrams out to sing Us, their collaboration from Abrams’s new album . Once again, it was the VIP guests who got the crowd talking: Macca at the top, closely followed by Jon Bon Jovi, Ellie Goulding, Sophie Turner, Cate Blanchett, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Andrew Scott and Piers Morgan.

Paul McCartney dancing with fans to But Daddy I Love Him 😭😭😭😭 #LondonTSTheErasTour @taylornation13 pic.twitter.com/Dcy6iXEtfV — Zoe 🤍 (@camdenswiftt) June 23, 2024

Swift also made a few pointed comments about the pitfalls of playing live (during the 10 minute-long All Too Well, she stopped for a few seconds, saying “I swallowed a bug, can you sing?”), and the talents of her extensive live band, seemingly in response to disparaging comments made by Dave Grohl in London the day before. At a Foo Fighters gig at the London Stadium, Grohl warned the crowd “Be nice! You don’t want the Swifties after you” before suggesting Swift doesn’t sing live at her live shows.

Dublin: Night One

Swift was welcomed to Dublin with a bunch of flowers from her old friends – and “Irish fan club” – U2. “Already feeling that Irish hospitality!!” she posted on Instagram. She paid tribute to the “folklore” of Ireland and there were Irish references sprinkled throughout the evening, from a “haon, dó, trí, ceathair” countdown in I Can Do It With a Broken Heart to costume changes in the colours of the Irish flag. Paramore singer Hayley Williams also wore a Cranberries t-shirt for her support set.

Dublin: Night Two

Graham Norton showed up at the second Dublin date, with the presenter writing on Instagram that the show was “off the scale fabulous” and calling Swift a “class act in every way”. We wonder if he’s gunning for another appearance from Swift on his famous red sofa back in London; after all, she’s featured many times over the years. In August, ahead of the final Wembley shows, perhaps?

View this post on Instagram A post shared by graham norton (@grahnort)

Dublin: Night Three

With Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks (who is currently on her own tour) watching on, Swift performed Clara Bow from The Tortured Poets Department for the first time. Introducing the song, which includes the lyric “You look like Stevie Nicks”, Swift said: “The reason I want to play this tonight is because a friend of mine is here who is watching the show and who has really been one of the reasons why I or any female artist gets to do what we get to do. She’s paved the way for us. And she’s mentored so many artists. I can’t tell you how rare that is. She’s a hero of mine and also someone that I can tell her any secret and she would never tell anybody. She’s really helped me through so much over the years.” Then, Swift sang You’re On Your Own Kid in full, a song Nicks previously said helped her to process the death of her bandmate, Christine McVie. Nicks was seen wiping away tears from the VIP tent during the performance. Hollywood actress Julia Roberts was also in attendance.

Potential special guests

Swift has brought a number of famous guests on stage to sing with her throughout the Eras tour – typically artists with feature credits on her songs. The National’s Aaron Dessner, who produced much of her lockdown albums Folklore and Evermore, appeared in Santa Clara, California, to perform melodic break-up ballad Right Where You Left Me. The National are in Europe throughout the summer for festivals, so he could make a surprise appearance again.

Then there’s sister-indie trio HAIM, who are personal close friends with Swift and featured on No Body, No Crime. Pictures of them out for a meal in London with Swift (and other famous faces, including Kate Moss, Lena Dunham and Andrew Scott) suggest they could make an appearance.

Other potential secret guests range from Lana Del Rey (who sang on Snow on the Beach, and is in the UK in August for Reading and Leeds festivals), Ed Sheeran (Everything Has Changed), Jack Antonoff (Getaway Car and more) and Zayn Malik (I Don’t Wanna Live Forever). All are probable, since Swift already brought out Paramore’s Hayley Williams for their collaboration, Castles Crumbling, and Gracie Abrams (for Us).

The secrets to look out for – and what they all mean

Ask any Taylor Swift fan what the secret to her colossal success is, and you might be surprised by their answer. Her emotionally vulnerable lyrics and 11 chart-topping studio albums come into play, of course, but it’s her Easter eggs – the secret clues she hides in her songs – that have established her as an unprecedented force in the music industry. And she’s done the same with the Eras concert, filling it with clues, tips and tricks hidden behind certain stages, lyrics or costumes that throw light on her life, her passions and her songs. Here we interpret it all for you.

The show opens with Lover – to mark Taylor’s creative rebirth …

Released in 2019, Swift’s seventh studio album was meant to get the full bells and whistles treatment: chart-topping singles (Me!, You Need to Calm Down, Lover and The Man) and a sold-out tour (“Lover Fest” was supposed to be a worldwide phenomenon, that included a show at London’s BST Hyde Park). Lover was also intended to mark a creative rebirth for Swift, whose popularity had waned following public spats with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian (that resulted in 2017’s Reputation).

Instead, Covid arrived, the tour was cancelled, and some of the singles flopped (although the album did feature Cruel Summer, surprisingly now her biggest, most-streamed hit). Swift had multiple reasons to open the Eras tour with the Lover section, and track Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince. The album was her first record to be entirely hers – following her legal battle with former record label Big Red Machine, that has seen her rerecord much of her back catalogue – and it never got its glory days because of the pandemic, so she seems to be picking up where she left off.

Some fans have even construed the choice to be aimed at former boyfriend Joe Alwyn, who she reportedly broke up with in March 2023 (the same month the Eras tour kicked off in the US), with Swift the all-American golden girl and he, the brooding British actor, the prince who wound up breaking her heart.

… Then the house burns down

For much of the Lover section, Swift performs on stage in front of a huge glass house with rooms nodding at previous music videos or Eras. As the titular track ends and she prepares to move into the Fearless era, the house bursts into fake flames and looks like it is burning down on stage. Could it symbolise the breakdown of her relationship with Alwyn, an end to her romantic side, or a potential hiatus post-Eras tour?

The Fearless dance

Nostalgia forms the heart of the Eras tour. Over two decades, Swift has released 11 studio albums packed with hits – from Love Story to We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together – and made billions of dollars from her music. The tour itself is a celebration of this (as Swift announces at the beginning: “We are about to go on a little adventure together”), as well as her old and new fans. The second part of the show is dedicated to 2008’s country gem Fearless – which won her first Grammy for Album of the Year – and features multiple nods to her younger years and earlier performances, including the jump and spin dance and heart sign she makes with her hands during the title song.

The meaningful outfits

Colours are important in Taylor Swift’s World, because each album is colour-coded (gold for Fearless, purple for Speak Now, black for Reputation, etc). Those signifiers form the heart of many fans’ chosen outfits for the tour, but also Swift’s own style choices on stage. When she announced 1989 (Taylor’s Version) in Los Angeles on August 9, she swapped her usual outfits for blue variants (1989’s colour) throughout the show. The show’s newest Era, dedicated to 11th album The Tortured Poets Department, sees her wear a toned-down spin on a circus ringmaster outfit for I Can Do It With a Broken Heart (a knowing nod to her 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards outfit) – a song about powering through heartbreak to dazzle fans and critics – while the logo on the t-shirt she wears during 22 (from Red) changes depending on the show.

One particular outfit to keep an eye on is the black and red, snake-emblazoned sequin catsuit she wears during the Reputation era – because it’s the only outfit that hasn’t changed since the beginning of the tour.

I Can Do It With a Broken Heart – and the Reputation glass boxes

ICDIWABH, mentioned above, is a defiant, gloriously poppy middle finger-up to anyone who thought Swift would buckle under the pressure of heartbreak and fame. “They said, “Babe, you gotta fake it ‘til you make it” and I did,” she sings. “Lights, camera, bitch smile, even when you wanna die”. The staging itself involves a motionless Swift, lying on the ground after performing The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived, being picked up by two grinning circus masters, who strip her dress and replace it with the ringmaster outfit. After flopping and falling around like a ragdoll, Swift suddenly jerks to life and bursts into song – a true professional, at whatever personal cost.

During the Reputation section, meanwhile, and in particular Look What You Made Me Do, Swift performs in front of a collection of glass boxes containing dancers dressed in similar costumes to ones worn throughout her career. The song itself, which was originally aimed at West and Kardashian, is Swift’s way of standing up for herself in front of an industry who expected her to be the meek, good-girl country star, instead of a powerful woman. Taken together, the imagery of both songs (ICDIWABH and LWYMMD) supports this – Swift seeing herself as someone who hasn’t been allowed to grow up, whose entire adolescence (and now, adulthood) was catered to pleasing the public.

Taken from her fourth studio album, 2012’s Red, 22 marked a musical switch for Swift from country to pure pop. During her performance of the song at the Eras tour, she storms down the long stage with her crew of backing dancers to reach one lucky fan at the other end, who is handed the black (personally signed) trilby she wears during the performance (and wore in the original video).

Fans looking to secure the hat would be best to direct their attention to the Taylor Nation social media accounts – allegedly run by a combination of 13 Management, her mother Andrea and father Scott – who personally choose the recipient. One such lucky fan was the late basketball player’s Kobe Bryant’s young daughter, Bianka, who was handed the hat (and embraced) by Swift in Los Angeles.

The Folklore house

Between the pop-tastic anthems of Red and 1989, Swift brings down the tempo for the Folklore section (twinned with Evermore on the European leg). The album, which she wrote and released during the pandemic, was a critical darling; co-written with and produced by The National’s Aaron Dessner, it marked a switch from pop to a more indie, mature sound. During the set, she performs songs from Folklore and Evermore from atop a grassy woodland cabin (inspired by her 2021 Grammy performance) that is also home to the moss-covered piano where she sits and performs Champagne Problems.

So High School’s ode to Travis Kelce

When Swift began the Eras tour, she was newly single and heartbroken, tearing up on stage while performing for songs she had written in honour of former beau Joe Alwyn. Since then, she’s released The Tortured Poets Department, another break-up album widely interpreted to be about Matty Healy, the 1975 frontman who she dated afterwards.

But her current boyfriend, the NFL star Travis Kelce, has no reason to fear, because he gets his love story during So High School. Swift only sings part of the song, which is about her falling head over heels for this teenage-kind of love (and includes the line “You know how to ball / I know Aristotle”), but the accompanying dance is the clearest nod to Kelce. She and her backing dancers sit atop makeshift bleachers and “swag surf” – a waving motion typically used at US sporting events, that she was seen doing during a Kansas City Chiefs game earlier this year.

The Bejeweled TikTok dance

It’s easy to attribute the unprecedented success of the Eras tour to the rise of TikTok. The day after the tour began in Arizona in March 2023, I had seen it in its entirety – from my bedroom in London – thanks to people live-streaming from the concert, or uploading multiple videos. Since then, of course, there has been the blockbuster concert film, but the video sharing platform offered the first opportunity for international fans (or those who couldn’t afford tickets) to see the show.

TikTok even provided Swift with a free choreographer. New Jersey-based creator Mikael Arellano went viral in 2022 with his dance to Bejeweled, the ninth track from Midnights, where he shimmies and shakes his hands and body to the chorus. It racked up billions of views and sure enough, when the Eras tour opened, Swift and her dancers did the same dance. As a way of saying thank you, Arellano was even called up to accept the much-fêted 22 hat in May 2023.

Josh hartnett details seeing taylor swift’s eras tour with daughters (exclusive).

eras tour ireland twitter

Josh Hartnett is dishing on the new M. Night Shyamalan thriller “Trap.”

“Extra’s” Mona Kosar Abdi spoke to Josh, whose film character is a serial killer who joins his daughter at a concert for a pop star — an event he realizes is a trap set by police to catch him.

In real life, Hartnett took his daughters to see Taylor Swift in London, which he admitted was “bizarre” after doing this movie.

“My girls are now, like, old enough to go to, sort of old enough to go to these things,” Josh said. “I wanted to give them exactly what they wanted, the whole experience, and we did and they had such a wonderful time.”

Josh noted that the “fervor” of the Swifties was similar to what Night captured in their movie.

He added, “I did the movie before I went to one of those concerts. I didn’t really know and it felt to me on the day like these [people] have lost their absolute minds. Like, all the kids were so obsessed and they’ve been given Lady Raven’s music beforehand and they became genuine fans and they were all singing along and going crazy… It was exactly what I experienced at the Taylor Swift concert, basically.”

Harnett joked that his character Cooper helped him prep for a Taylor Swift concert.

For his role, Josh had to research sociopathy and the darkness of serial killers, reading tons of books. He commented, “There are plenty of books on these people that exist now and why they did what they did, and the thing that struck me kind of right off the bat is that the person who was writing each of these books, honestly, was charmed by them.”

Josh opened up about coming back to Hollywood after some time away.

He said, “I was always looking for kind of the most unique story and the most unique character with the most interesting director that I could find and I’ve got a little bit of sort of contrary streak in me… All throughout my career, I’ve been trying to focus on kind of expanding my sort of reach as an actor, being able to play different types of roles.”

As for the narrative that he left Hollywood and is now back, Josh “sort of” agrees with that assessment.

He commented, “I wasn’t doing Hollywood films, but it wasn’t like, one day, you know, like I picked up my bags and in a huff turned away and walked out of L.A., never to return. It was more just, like, my interest was different from what people wanted from me within the system, and that happens sometimes, and now our interests are more aligned.”

Harnett also dished on his family life in the countryside in the U.K. He shared, “Everything’s different in a way. Even, you know, the nouns are different.”

His kids even have British accents! He added, “The kids loved being, you know, there.”

“Trap” is out August 2.

Taylor Swift Jokes About Her Piano Malfunction at Milan Eras Tour Night 2: 'We Have Finally Broken This Thing'

The instrument glitched while Swift performed 'Getaway Car' during the secret songs segment of the July 14 show

Taylor Swift thinks there's been a glitch !

During her second Eras Tour show in Milan, Swift, 34, treated fans to two surprise mashups during the secret song segment of the concert. The mishap happened after she performed a guitar mashup of Fearless (Taylor's Version) vault track "Mr. Perfectly Fine" and "Red" from Red (TV) .

Things took a turn for the unexpected when she moved to the piano. The 14-time Grammy winner began a mashup of Reputation 's "Getaway Car" and "Out of the Woods" but could barely get past the opening lines when her piano, painted with colorful flowers, malfunctioned.

"We have finally broken this thing," Swift told the crowd as she peaked beneath the piano's lid, as seen in a fan video shared on TikTok . A crew member can also be seen trying to fix the instrument.

Another fan's video on X (formerly Twitter) shows the triumphant moment after the piano was fixed. Swift closed the lid and said, "Oh, I did it!"

Swift has played "Getaway Car" three other times on the Eras Tour. Most memorably, she performed it with frequent collaborator Jack Antonoff in East Rutherford, N.J.

Before her Milan tour stop, Swift performed two shows in Switzerland, her first time in the "stunningly beautiful" country, as she called it on Instagram .

She also treated the crowd to her favorite songs to celebrate the 113th concert on the Eras Tour during the secret songs segment.

She kicked off the set with evermore track “Right Where You Left Me” and the 1989 song “All You Had To Do Was Stay.” She then pivoted to Speak Now songs “Last Kiss” and “Sad Beautiful Tragic” as a nod to the one-year anniversary since releasing Speak Now (Taylor's Version) .

She then said she's "been looking forward to playing" in Milan for so long.

Meanwhile, Kelce, 34, even made his Eras Tour stage debut . During the June 23 performance at Wembley Stadium in London, the NFL star helped Swift during the costume change skit before "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart."

Kelce has been a mainstay at her shows, attending all three of her London concerts , along with Kansas City , Argentina , Australia , Singapore , France , Ireland and Amsterdam . Countless celebrities have made it to the shows as well, joining Kelce in the crowd.

After Milan, up next on Swift's record-breaking tour are Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg and Munich in Germany, plus Warsaw in Poland, Vienna's Austria and then London once more for five more Wembley Stadium shows.

Travis Kelce attends Eras Tour concert in 'Swiftkirchen,' Swift asks staff to help fan

Portrait of Bryan West

Oh hi, Travis Kelce !

Fans noticed the Kansas City tight end in a dark tee and white cap watching the Eras Tour from a suite inside the Veltins-Arena on Wednesday.

The Gelsenkirchen, Germany, appearance is Kelce's 12th since he and Taylor Swift went public last September. He attended his first concert in Buenos Aires, Argentina , followed by Sydney, two nights in Singapore , the final night in Paris, all three nights in London, one night in Dublin and two nights in Amsterdam.

Will Kelce appear onstage in Germany?

It's possible that Kelce will make a second onstage cameo in Gelsenkirchen. He loves to make not-so-subtle teases on his podcast "New Heights."

Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.

After carrying Swift during her "Tortured Poets" set on the final night in London, the football player told his brother Jason and Swifties, "You guys will have to keep showing up to the Eras Tour to see if I pop out of the stage or whatnot."

Although the singer has 35 more concerts in 10 cities, the tight end is due back at training camp for the Chiefs from July 21 to Aug. 15, and there is a preseason game during her Wembley Stadium shows in the United Kingdom.

Swift pauses German concert for distressed fan

"We need some help back there, thank you very much," Swift said holding her guitar before singing her song "Betty."

In her cream-colored "Folklore" dress, the singer-songwriter pointed down the catwalk. "Just right there," she said to stadium staff before sing-talking, "Gonna wait until I see that it's happened."

Swift has paused her concerts at 47% of her European dates to make sure distressed fans on the packed, open seating floor receive help. The interruptions occur during a number of different songs and at different times but are usually close to one of her speeches ahead of "All Too Well," "Betty" or "Champagne Problems." She then thanks the stadium crew if they get to a fan with haste.

"The incredible crew at this stadium are so quick getting to you guys really, really fast and helping out to make sure that you have water and make sure you're cared for," she said of the Veltins-Arena staff. "I always really appreciate that when we play at a stadium and they really care about the people who are coming to the concerts so that is just incredible."

As the staff approached the fan in need of help, Swift went on with the Eras Tour show saying, "Anyway this is a story I wrote about a girl named 'Betty.'"

Welcome to 'Swiftkirchen'

Thirty creative and fun yellow "Swiftkirchen" signs are scattered around Gelsenkirchen. The colorful signs have a printed magenta outline of Swift's Eras Tour poster photo with classic Swift iconography (hearts, heart-shaped glasses, stars, a butterfly and a guitar).

The bright idea came from teenager Aleshanee Westhoff from Emmerich. In an Instagram video by the 25th-most populous German city, the diehard Swiftie submitted a petition to temporarily change the city's name.

"It’s a great idea to temporarily rename Gelsenkirchen to 'Swiftkirchen,'" Mayor Karin Welge said in a German letter to Westhoff, "which is why I'm particularly pleased that you can experience the short-term 'renaming' of Gelsenkirchen."

The name "Swiftkirchen" roughly translates to "Swift Church." Swift will perform to 60,000 screaming fans inside the Veltins-Arena on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The singer-songwriter has a total of seven German shows. Next week she will head to Hamburg and Munich.

Biden-Harris Administration Announces Preliminary Terms with GlobalWafers to Significantly Increase Production of Silicon Wafers in U.S.

Proposed chips investment would establish the first domestic source of 300mm silicon wafers for advanced chips and expand production of silicon-on-insulator wafers, strengthening the domestic supply chain for key semiconductor components.

Square with rounded edges. Fill of square looks like American flag. Coming off the sides of the square are lines with unfilled circles at end. Words underneath: CHIPS for AMERICA

Media Contact: Madeline Broas, madeline.broas [at] chips.gov ( madeline[dot]broas[at]chips[dot]gov ) .

Today, as part of the Investing in America tour, the Biden-Harris Administration announced that the U.S. Department of Commerce and GlobalWafers America, LLC and MEMC LLC (“MEMC”), subsidiaries of GlobalWafers Co., Ltd. (“GlobalWafers”), have signed a non-binding preliminary memorandum of terms (PMT) to provide up to $400 million in proposed direct funding under the CHIPS and Science Act to help onshore critical semiconductor wafer production and advance U.S. technology leadership. President Biden signed the bipartisan CHIPS and Science Act, a key component of his Investing in America agenda, to usher in a new era of semiconductor manufacturing in the United States, bringing with it a revitalized domestic supply chain, good-paying jobs, and investments in the industries of the future. The proposed CHIPS investment would support the construction of new wafer manufacturing facilities and the creation of 1,700 construction jobs and 880 manufacturing jobs. This proposed investment will support projects with total capital expenditures of approximately $4 billion across both states.

“President Biden is restoring our leadership in the entire semiconductor supply chain – from materials to manufacturing, to R&D. With this proposed investment, GlobalWafers will play a crucial role in bolstering America’s semiconductor supply chain by providing a domestic source of silicon wafers that are the backbone of advanced chips,” said U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo . “As a result of this proposed investment, the Biden-Harris Administration is helping to secure our supply chains, which will create over 2,000 jobs across Texas and Missouri and ultimately lowering costs and improving economic and national security for Americans.”

“President Biden is taking historic action to bring semiconductor manufacturing back in the United States,” said Arati Prabhakar, Assistant to the President for Science and Technology and Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy . “The semiconductor wafers that will come from today’s announcement will be the foundation for the complex chips we need to compete in the global economy. We’re bolstering our national security, advancing our clean energy transition, and creating good jobs that support families in Texas and Missouri.”

Silicon wafers are critical components in the semiconductor ecosystem as they are a foundational input used in all chips. There are five leading companies, including GlobalWafers, that currently hold over 80% of the global 300mm silicon wafer manufacturing market and approximately 90% of silicon wafers are sourced from East Asia today. As a result of this proposed CHIPS investment, GlobalWafers would build and expand facilities in:

  • Sherman, Texas: Establish the first 300mm silicon wafer manufacturing facility for advanced chips in the United States. Of note, 300mm silicon wafers are a key input used by foundries and integrated device manufacturers to manufacture leading-edge, mature-node, and memory chips.
  • St. Peters, Missouri: Establish a new facility to produce 300mm silicon-on-insulator (“SOI”) wafers. Importantly, SOI wafers allow for significantly improved performance in harsh environments and are commonly used in defense and aerospace end uses.

Further, as part of the PMT, GlobalWafers plans to convert a portion of its existing silicon epitaxy wafer manufacturing facility in Sherman, Texas to silicon carbide (“SiC”) epitaxy wafer manufacturing, producing 150mm and 200mm SiC epitaxy wafers. SiC epitaxy wafers are a critical component for high-voltage applications, notably including electric vehicles and clean energy infrastructure.

Supporting the development of a local semiconductor workforce in Texas, GlobalWafers is a member of the Southern Methodist University-led Texoma Tech Hub and is involved in the North Texas Semiconductor Workforce Development Consortium led by the University of Texas Dallas. GlobalWafers is also part of an innovative partnership with Sherman High School, Denison High School, and Grayson College to establish an electronics lab at the schools that provide targeted training towards technician certifications required for new hires in the semiconductor industry. In St. Peters, MEMC is likewise developing an apprenticeship program for Maintenance Technicians with the National Institute for Industry and Career Advancement (NIICA) and local high schools. Further, MEMC is collaborating with St. Charles Community College on a program named MegaTech, which supports dual-enrolled high school students as they step into careers involving advanced manufacturing and automation.

As explained in its first Notice of Funding Opportunity , the Department may offer applicants a PMT on a non-binding basis after satisfactory completion of the merit review of a full application. The PMT outlines key terms for a potential CHIPS incentives award, including the amount and form of the award. The award amounts are subject to due diligence and negotiation of award documents and are conditional on the achievement of certain milestones. After the PMT is signed, the Department begins a comprehensive due diligence process on the proposed projects and continues negotiating or refining certain terms with the applicant. The terms contained in any final award documents may differ from the terms of the PMT being announced today.

About CHIPS for America CHIPS for America has announced up to $30.1 billion in proposed funding across thirteen preliminary memoranda of terms to revitalize America’s semiconductor industry. These proposed CHIPS for America investments are already delivering significant results, including unlocking more than $300 billion in public and private investment between now and the end of the decade – far and away the most investment in new production in the history of the U.S. semiconductor industry.

Earlier this year, Secretary Raimondo announced that we anticipate that America will produce 20% of the world’s leading-edge chips by the end of the decade, meaning our innovation capacity will no longer be as vulnerable to supply chain disruptions as it is today. The Semiconductor Industry Association released a report saying that America is on track to triple its domestic semiconductor manufacturing capacity from 2022 – when the CHIPS and Science Act was enacted – to 2032.

With these announcements, America now has four of the world’s five leading-edge companies making significant efforts to expand on our shores. No other economy in the world has more than two of these companies producing leading-edge chips on its shores.

The Department has received more than 670 statements of interest, more than 230 pre-applications and full applications for NOFO 1, and more than 160 small supplier concept plans for NOFO 2. The Department is continuing to conduct rigorous evaluation of applications to determine which projects will advance U.S. national and economic security, attract more private capital, and deliver other economic benefits to the country. The announcement with GlobalWafers is the thirteenth PMT announcement the Department of Commerce has made under the CHIPS and Science Act, with additional PMT announcements expected to follow throughout 2024.

CHIPS for America is part of President Biden’s economic plan to invest in America, stimulate private sector investment, create good-paying jobs, make more in the United States, and revitalize communities left behind. CHIPS for America includes the CHIPS Program Office, responsible for manufacturing incentives, and the CHIPS Research and Development Office, responsible for R&D programs, that both sit within the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) at the Department of Commerce. NIST promotes U.S. innovation and industrial competitiveness by advancing measurement science, standards, and technology in ways that enhance economic security and improve our quality of life. NIST is uniquely positioned to successfully administer the CHIPS for America program because of the bureau’s strong relationships with U.S. industries, its deep understanding of the semiconductor ecosystem, and its reputation as fair and trusted.
