Absolutely loved this tour! Big shout out to Sohaila & Anas who were both fantastic tour guides. There were a couple of things along the way that could have gone a little better, but they were insignificant in the grand scheme of things. The sites included in the tour are all breath taking and somehow get better and better. I'd highly recommend doing all of the extras, particularly Abu Simbel and the Luxor hot air balloon. Accom was also much better than I had expected and sleeper train wasn't too bad either, surprisingly.

8 Days Pyramids and Nile Cruise Aswan - Abu simbel - Luxor - Hurghada

The trip to Egypt was amazing. Regarding the organisation the company really took care of us and organised every step from beginning till the end. You really have the feeling to be in good hands. Concerning the several spots of the trip we saw a lot of Egypt in a short time. It was a rough schedule but it was worth it. We saw many things, from pyramids to many impressive temples. The highlights were the Nile Cruise and the hot air balloon in Luxor. Next to all these experiences, Anas and Taher did a great job. Anas made the whole trip with his huge knowledge about the ancient Egyptian era very interesting. Not only his knowledge, also his funny and humorous way to explain and show us things made the trip special. There is only one thing that should be communicated better, because depending where you come from, the tipping for us was unusual and should be explained at the beginning.

We joined the tour as three people, my friend and my sister. We were welcomed as soon as we landed in Egypt in the middle of the night. Ahmed welcomed us at our hotel and helped us with early check-in. A smooth transfer was made by plane to Luxor. Our guide Ahmed Saladino welcomed us in Luxor. We spent 5 days with our guide Saladino. It went perfectly for us. Saladino was very knowledgeable and helpful in every aspect. Our balloon tour money, which was canceled due to wind, was refunded without any problems. Our group was quite harmonious. Many thanks to our guide Saladino, who did his best for us, and to tourradar and beyond the nile for the smooth organization. As soon as we were picked up from the airport, we were sent off from the airport with a warm farewell. The points I will criticize are; The ship is tired of years and unfortunately full of old materials. Even though the staff is devoted, this ship should definitely be better.

To Whom it may concern, this letter is being sent to issue the award for EXCELLANCE. my name is Oweda " Weasy " Gerald. my family, son Andrew " Dru " Gerald and daughter Rachel " Rae " Gerald selected Egypt for our family vacation. our transportation was ready and waiting for us @ the airport. we arrived on a late flight. We missed the meet and greet session. we were escorted to our room and received a call to return to the lobby. Mudi was there waiting to give us 3 the " meet and greet " we developed a fast friendship because he returned back to the hotel just for us. he escorted us to the dinning room where we had a pleasant interaction. also informed that we were waiting for another couple who arrived after us. we dined and received our morning instruction. By day 3 , our group became so close that we named our group " the Mudies ". ( of course I adopted him on the spot !!!! ) the following information are acts of kindness shown to group members that were only made public by those who receive great love and selflessness . this is Mudi . 1.) he made arrangement for a couple's lost luggage to be waiting for them when we arrived @ a tour destination. 2.) my late mothers camera slid out of my pocket , got stuck between bus seats on tour bus.my Kids mentioned it to Mudi. my camera was waiting for me @ the next hotel. 3.) one of our group members arrived ill and Mudi took him straight to the hospital , stayer with him and got all his prescription medication. once his health care services were complete , Mudi brought him to the hotel. We have traveled to all continents except the south pole over the years and Mudi is , by far the most AWESOME and WONDERFUL guide EVER. I saved the best for last. our farewell dinner happened to fall on my 62nd birthday. no one know but my children. guess what ??? I had a surprise party there on the spot with singing and dancing !! Mudi gave group attention as well as one-on-one attention. this is why he should be recognized as the tour guide of the year or of the century !! His devout and loving dedication to us and those before us should earn him this great honor. Respectfully Submitted, the entire Gerald Family.

Timeless Tours is the kind of operator we were looking for when we started planning our Egypt tour - one who can customize a private tour for our family of four, engage and help in planning by providing quotes for different variations in the itinerary, suggest and guide with professionalism and empathy. Hany, the CEO, was a pleasure to work with right from the time I sent him the initial whatsapp message. He always responded with detailed and well-thought answers. His responses might not be immediate, but they were always within reasonable time frame. He was patient with my questions and flexible with my requests (like my desire to book my own hotels). During the trip, he provided Mina Magdy as the guide. All Hany's employees and driving staff have been exemplary. Mina, however, went above and beyond with personalized service. His knowledge of Egypt's history, attention towards my family's comfort and safety, as well as understanding of our need were all superlative. The price was reasonable, but the service was outstanding. I would hire Timeless again if needed!

What people love about Christmas & New Year Tours in Egypt

the tour was fantasticand and most of accomodations were fine except i did not enjoy the overnight sleeping train experience, it was not clean and too noisy we wish if I made the flight upgrade like the other travellers in our group, we enjoyed the free all inclusive upgrade at hurghada resort .With the optionals and site entry fees keep in mind they aren’t included but so so worth it! Overall good adventure .
Queen Cleopatras is a great tour, highly recommended, Anas is a great guide, he explained everything about Egyptian culture and toke care about our group! I will recommend to head office to deliver schedules with the tours to be able to plan our days. Cruse was amazing, service is great and everyone is very friendly! Also there is laundry available at your room! Ruby II is a great option, the room is very nice! I won’t recommend to take the train from Cairo to Aswan, service is great but services are not good (very old and dirty), washrooms very dirty!
Mina was such an amazing guide he is extremely accommodating and knowledgeable. He made the entire trip so convenient.

A Radiant Tapestry: Christmas in Egypt

A Radiant Tapestry: Christmas in Egypt

In the cradle of ancient civilizations, where the eternal Nile nurtures the sweeping Sahara, an ancient community kindles the glow of Christmas with threads of faith, tradition, and cultural brilliance. Beyond the sparkling lights and familiar carols, the Egyptian Christmas weaves a rich tapestry—one that reveals an enduring mosaic of Coptic heritage for discerning travelers on a private Egypt tour by Osiris Tours .

Table of Contents

Historical roots: christianity in egypt.

Before we delve into the enchanting festivities, let’s unravel the origins and significance of Christmas in Egypt. Christianity first came to Egypt in the 1st century AD, taking root in the religiously diverse urban center of Alexandria. Legend has it that the Evangelist Mark himself brought the gospel to Egyptian shores shortly after Christ’s crucifixion, founding the Church that still bears his name. Egypt’s long history of vibrant spiritual traditions lent fertile ground for this new faith to spread.

Within three centuries, the Coptic Orthodox Church based in Alexandria had grown into one of the largest Christian bodies, wielding tremendous influence in the early development of Christian theology. As the Roman Empire Christianized in the 4th century AD, Egypt stood at the center of the Christian world. Despite the rise of Byzantine power and the tumultuous conquests by Arab armies in the 7th century, the Coptic Church demonstrated remarkable resilience over the ages. After centuries of periodic persecution, the Church still claimed the allegiance of most Egyptians by the 14th century.

Today, around 5-15% of Egypt’s population still identifies as Coptic Christians—upholding a faith tradition born some 2000 years ago. The enduring Coptic language and calendar directly descend from Pharaonic times, standing as proud symbols of cultural continuity.

For Egyptian Christians, Christmas marks the pinnacle of this vibrant heritage passed down through unbroken generations. The holiday carries all the richer meanings when celebrated in the land that once delivered the infant Jesus and His family when they sought refuge so long ago.

Woven Into this Ancient Tapestry

As we reflect upon the luminous tapestry of faith and living heritage that is the Egyptian Christmas, an opportunity awaits you to experience these enduring wonders firsthand. Osiris Tours, specialists in crafting custom private journeys , invites you to embark on your own luminous passage to the cradle of wonders this season—embracing Egypt’s magical complexity that endures the ages.

Cultural and Culinary Revelry

Now, let’s immerse ourselves in the culinary and cultural delights that make Christmas in Egypt truly magical.

As much of the world packs away the mistletoe and tinsel, Egypt warms up for the grandest celebration of the year. For the Coptic Orthodox Church, which accounts for the majority of Egyptian Christians, Christmas falls on January 7th —adding a touch of mystery to an already magical event.

In anticipation, Coptic households spring into action, decorating Christmas trees with colorful ornaments and bathing buildings in festive lights. Like the luminous constellations above the desert, neighborhoods transform into kaleidoscopes of color, reflecting the harmony of the season.

Step inside the ancient Coptic cathedrals, with flickering candles casting a golden glow upon weathered stones. Lifting their voices in celestial Coptic hymns, the faithful turn these hallowed spaces into chambers of living history. The liturgy and ceremonial dances fuse faith with tradition, composing a symphony that bridges ages. Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve remains the pinnacle of spiritual devotion. Bathed in candlelight, pilgrims and locals gather to rejoice in the symbolic victory of light over darkness, hope over despair—retelling an ageless story of divine grace.

Unlike the West, Christmas spills out of churches and into the bustling Egyptian streets—morphing into a shared public celebration that embraces all Egyptians regardless of faith. Mosques and markets burst into color with shimmering decorations that exude infectious joy. The aroma of holiday treats fills the air as carolers spread festive cheer.

For a fleeting moment, the grinding routines of daily life halt, giving way to smiles and camaraderie. Strangers exchange tidings, embracing common humanity. The Egyptian Christmas belongs to all.

Beyond the Coptic faithful, Christmas cheer permeates Egyptian culture at large. Festive displays and hospitality extend into Islamic neighborhoods. Streets fill with shimmering lights as Christmas trees adorn shops and homes of every creed. The sweet scent of holiday treats wafts through bustling local markets, shared by all Egyptians. Though Muslims don’t partake in religious services, many still gather to celebrate. They join Christian friends and neighbors to exchange gifts, feast on seasonal delicacies, and share the contagious joy spreading during this beloved time of year.

In a cultural melting pot like Egypt that has absorbed influences across three millennia, Christmas retains its singular glow. Yet the resulting celebrations reflect a fusion of native spirit and diverse heritage, much like the composite identity of Egypt itself. Just as the Nile valley has nourished a resilient civilization since antiquity, this pluralism has allowed once-foreign traditions to strike root. They have organically become part of local culture.

A Culinary Journey Through Time

In the warm embrace of Egyptian homes, the air is filled with the enticing aroma of Christmas delights, drawing families together around lavish meals that awaken the senses. This culinary celebration is more than a feast; it is a reflection of a mature food culture that has been intricately shaped by the fertile banks of the Nile over centuries.

As the family members gather, they are greeted by an array of dishes that showcase the exquisite balance between savory and sweet. This delicate equilibrium is not merely a gastronomic feat but a testament to the culinary legacy woven into the fabric of Egyptian life. It is a celebration of flavors that have evolved and matured, mirroring the rich tapestry of the nation’s history and its diverse influences.

Assorted Kahk for Eid

Among the signature dishes gracing the festive table is the ancient Fata lamb stew , a hearty and flavorful concoction that has stood the test of time. Its preparation involves a meticulous process, with each step contributing to the depth of flavor that resonates with tradition. Another culinary gem is the semolina-based Kahk cookies , bathed in golden honeyed nectar. These sweet treats transcend mere edibles; they are an edible embodiment of familial bonds and shared heritage.

In the heart of the kitchen, gathered families engage in the age-old tradition of preparing these culinary masterpieces. The rhythmic sound of rolling dough, the gentle drizzling of honey, and the sizzling of frying sweets create a symphony that resonates with the joy of the season. Meanwhile, bubbling stews, such as the molokheya leaf soup, simmer on stovetops, infusing homes with fragrant compounds like lemon and cumin.

As stories are exchanged, and laughter reverberates through the kitchen, relatives bond over the preparation of spiced grilled meats sourced freshly from bustling markets. The vibrant colors of spices and the sizzle of meats on grills become a sensory backdrop to the familial tales that intertwine with the culinary artistry unfolding in each household.

Some families choose to enrich their celebrations with the age-old tradition of caroling ancient Coptic hymns. These lyrical voices harmonize in a timeless melody that transcends the ages, transporting all present to a realm where faith persists and traditions endure. The resonance of these hymns rekindles the light within gatherers, connecting them to a heritage that stretches far beyond the confines of the holiday season.

Tour Name: Experience Egypt Cultural Sightseeing in 10 Days

This was the trip of a lifetime that I was able to have with my eldest son - an absolutely Read More amazing experience. To be able to actually see the places and artifacts that I had read about and studied was truly phenomenal. Our hotels were great, the travel to and from sites was completely taken care of, we never felt unsafe or left to our own devices, and the itinerary was just right. But what made the experience so fab was our two guides - Mahmoud Nour in Luxor/Aswan/Abu Simbel and "Max" in Cairo/Memphis/Saqqara. They taught us history and context as it related to each site we visited and they indulged my myriad questions. They were both so incredibly knowledgeable and my questions were never ignored or unanswered. In addition, they shared their culture with us and treated us to some awesome dining experiences. We were reminded that Egypt is more than just ancient ruins. I would recommend without reservation this tour experience. And "hats off" to Mahmoud and Max!!! I left feeling like I had made some great new friends. And I can't wait to try some home-made kushari. Read Less

The entire experience was smooth from start to finish. Both Mahmoud and Max spoke excellent English, were extremely knowledgeable, and went out of their way to ensure our experience was everything we hoped it would be. This was the second time I have used ETP, and I will continue to recommend them to anyone who expresses any interest in exploring Egypt. We especially liked that our tour group was limited to only our party, which meant we got one-on-one attention at all the sites, and allowed us to get answers to all our questions. And for those of you who are worried about safety or health in Egypt, in our experience it was extremely safe, and we never had any issues related to COVID-19. Nile cruises at christmas..

A Nile cruise during Christmas is a magical way to spend the holiday season. Egypt’s mild winter weather, historical sites, and serene river views make it a unique and memorable experience. Here’s what you can expect from a Nile cruise during Christmas:

  • Mild Weather: December in Egypt offers pleasant, cooler temperatures compared to the scorching summer months. While it’s not beach weather, it’s perfect for exploring historical sites without the intense heat.
  • Historical Sites: Nile cruises typically include stops at iconic landmarks like Luxor and Aswan. You can explore the temples of Luxor, the Valley of the Kings, the temple of Karnak, and the Philae Temple, among others. These sites are beautifully lit up at night, creating a magical atmosphere during the Christmas season.
  • Christmas Celebrations: While Egypt is a predominantly Muslim country, Christmas is still celebrated, especially in tourist areas. Many cruise ships decorate their interiors with festive lights and decorations; you may even find a Christmas tree on board. Some ships also offer special Christmas dinners and entertainment.
  • Relaxation: A Nile cruise offers a perfect blend of sightseeing and relaxation. You can unwind on the deck, take in the breathtaking views, and enjoy the calm waters of the Nile River. It’s an excellent way to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and reflect on the year’s end.
  • Local Culture: You’ll have the opportunity to interact with locals and learn about their traditions and way of life. Many Egyptians are warm and welcoming, making your Christmas Nile cruise a culturally enriching experience.
  • Unique Souvenirs: Christmas is a great time to shop for souvenirs, and the local markets in cities along the Nile offer unique gifts and handicrafts. You can find everything from traditional Egyptian clothing to jewelry, spices, and more.
  • New Year’s Celebration: If your cruise extends into the New Year, you’ll have the chance to ring in the new year with a memorable celebration on board. Many cruise ships host special New Year’s Eve parties and fireworks displays.
  • Scenic Sunsets: The sunsets over the Nile River are stunning. You can enjoy these picturesque moments from the comfort of your cruise ship or while taking a leisurely walk along the riverbanks.
  • Diverse Cuisine: Nile cruises typically offer various cuisine options, including local and international dishes. You can savor Egyptian specialties like koshari, falafel, and kebabs while also enjoying familiar holiday favorites.
  • Unforgettable Memories: Ultimately, a Nile cruise during Christmas offers a unique blend of culture, history, and relaxation that creates lasting memories. The serene beauty of the river and the captivating historical sites make it a special way to spend the holiday season.

How to Celebrate Christmas in Egypt?

In Egypt, Christmas is celebrated uniquely with Coptic Christian traditions and modern festivities. Families attend midnight Mass on Christmas Eve, followed by a festive meal. Homes are adorned with nativity scenes, candles, and colorful lights. Traditional dishes like “Fata” and “Kahk” cookies are prepared and exchanged among friends and family. Egyptians also decorate Christmas trees and exchange gifts, much like Western traditions. Visiting Coptic churches, especially in cities like Cairo and Alexandria, offers a glimpse into the rich cultural and religious aspects of Christmas in Egypt.

Egypt Christmas Tours: Discover the Magic of the Land of Pharaohs

Cruising the nile: a majestic journey.

A cruise on the Nile River is a must-do activity that lets you learn about Egypt’s rich past while enjoying luxury ease. Get on a classic cruise ship on the Nile and start a trip that will take you to some of Egypt’s most famous places.

  • Luxor was once the capital of ancient Egypt. It is often called the world’s best open-air museum. Its churches, tombs, and old ruins make it an excellent place for people interested in history. Check out the massive Karnak Temple, walk along the Avenue of Sphinxes, and see how great the Luxor Temple is as the sun goes down.
  • Aswan is a busy city in the southernmost part of Egypt. It gives visitors a taste of Nubian culture. Visit the beautiful Abu Simbel buildings, which were moved to a higher spot when the Aswan High Dam was built. Take a relaxing felucca ride down the Nile. You’ll see beautiful green islands and towns along the way.
  • Ancient Egyptians’ religious views can be seen in the temples of Edfu and Kom Ombo, which is very interesting. The Temple of Horus in Edfu is one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt. It was built for the falcon-headed god Horus. The two temples of Sobek and Horus in Kom Ombo show how two different gods interact.

Dive into the Red Sea: Looking for Treasures Underwater

  • Ras Mohammed National Park is great for swimmers and snorkelers because it has some of the world’s most beautiful coral reefs. If you dive into the warm water, you might see all kinds of fish, sea turtles, and even the occasional dolphin. Shark Reef and Yolanda Reef are well-known places to visit because they have a lot of marine life.
  • Giftun Island, near Hurghada, is famous for people who want to relax and go diving. Snorkel through colorful coral gardens full of strange fish, or relax in the sun on the island’s beautiful beaches. Enjoy a delicious fish lunch and let the soft breeze from the water calm your mind.
  • The Blue Hole is a unique place to dive in the Gulf of Aqaba town of Dahab, known as a laid-back beach town. Divers love this natural pit because it has beautiful underwater caves and sea life. Dive into the depths and see how light and shadows play together in this watery world.
  • Sharm El Sheikh is a lively tourist town that caters to people who want to dive, swim, or just lay out in the sun. Explore the world-famous dive sites of Tiran Island and the Straits of Tiran, where you can see groups of colorful fish, beautiful rays, and even majestic whale sharks. After a day of exploring the underground, you can relax at one of the seaside villas and eat delicious food.

Getting to Know Cairo’s Cultural Delights

  • Cairo, the country’s lively capital, is a must-see on any trip to Egypt. Spend some time in the busy streets of Cairo’s famous market, Khan El Khalili , where you can buy unique gifts and eat traditional Egyptian food. Visit the ancient Saladin Citadel , where the beautiful Mosque of Muhammad Ali is located, and look out over the whole city from its high spot. Cairo has much to offer regarding culture, history, and the modern world.
  • The Pyramids of Giza are a great example of how good the ancient Egyptians were at building things. As you get closer to these huge buildings, you can’t help but be amazed by their beauty and sheer size. The Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure dominate the scenery, and each one is beautiful.

Frequently Asked Questions related to Christmas holidays

How does Egypt celebrate Christmas? Christmas in Egypt is a vibrant and joyful occasion. Coptic Christians attend church services on Christmas Eve, which is one of the most important traditions. The services are marked by beautiful hymns, prayers, and the reading of biblical passages. At midnight, the churches announce the birth of Jesus Christ with the ringing of bells and the lighting of candles. Families gather for a festive meal after the church service, enjoying traditional dishes such as roast lamb, koshari (a popular Egyptian dish made with rice, lentils, and pasta), and various pastries and desserts. Many homes are decorated with colorful lights and nativity scenes. Gift-giving is also a part of the celebration, with families exchanging presents.

Where is the best place to celebrate Christmas in Egypt?

One of the best places to celebrate Christmas in Egypt is in Cairo. The capital city is home to numerous Coptic Orthodox churches, including the famous Hanging Church (Saint Virgin Mary’s Coptic Orthodox Church) and the Church of St. Sergius and Bacchus. These churches hold grand Christmas Eve services and are beautifully adorned for the occasion.

Another enchanting location is the city of Alexandria, where you can visit the Cathedral of St. Mark, the largest Coptic Orthodox church in the city. The coastal atmosphere adds to the holiday charm.

For a more serene celebration, consider spending Christmas in one of the monasteries in Egypt’s remote desert areas, such as St. Anthony’s Monastery or St. Paul’s Monastery, where you can experience a peaceful and spiritually rich Christmas.

Is Egypt busy at Christmas?

Yes, Egypt can be quite busy during Christmas, particularly in major cities like Cairo and Alexandria. The holiday season sees an influx of tourists, both domestic and international, who come to witness the festive atmosphere and the unique Coptic traditions. Local markets, streets, and popular tourist sites may experience increased crowds.

However, it’s worth noting that Christmas in Egypt is a religious holiday for Coptic Christians, so the level of busyness may vary depending on your location and activities. If you prefer a quieter experience, you can opt for a more secluded destination or attend smaller church services in less crowded areas.

How much does an Egypt vacation package typically cost? In addition to visiting historical sites, popular activities for tourists in Egypt include cruising the Nile River, scuba diving in the Red Sea, and taking a hot air balloon ride over the Valley of the Kings.

Are the pyramids open on Christmas Day? Yes, the pyramids in Egypt are typically open to visitors on Christmas Day. The Egyptian authorities understand the significance of tourism during the holiday season, and they strive to accommodate tourists by keeping major attractions like the Pyramids of Giza open. It’s advisable to check the specific opening hours and any potential holiday-related closures in advance, as schedules may vary.

What do Egyptians eat for Christmas?

Breathtaking places to see and visit in egypt.

  • Greater Cairo: Enjoy visiting the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, The Egyptian Museum, the Pyramids of Saqqara and Dahshur, Citadel of Salah El-Din, Mosque of Mohamed Ali, and Khan al Khalili bazaar.
  • Alexandria: Alexandria, with several historical tourist attractions including Roman and Greek monuments, Bibliotheca Alexandria, Qa’edbay’s Castle, and Qasr El Montaza (El Montaza Palace).
  • Luxor: Its picturesque temples, including the temples of Luxor and Karnak, and the West Bank across the Nile is full of monuments like Hatshepsut temple & Valley of the Kings.
  • Aswan: In Aswan, you can see even more temples and ancient monuments like the Temples of Abu Simbel. Perhaps the most popular activity in Luxor and Aswan is to do the Nile Cruise on a ship from Aswan to Luxor.
  • The Red Sea: The Red Sea resorts in the Sinai peninsula, including Dahab, Hurghada, and Sharm el-sheik with amazing sights of the Sinai peninsula, including Saint Catherine’s Monastery and Mount Sinai.

Tips for traveling responsibly

  • Learn the language:  Although English is widely spoken as a second language in Egypt, make an effort to learn a bit of Arabic.
  • Sail the Nile: There are many dahabiya and cruises operating between Esna, Luxor, and Aswan.
  • Don’t bribe guards: Give them a present if you want – they are paid so little that any amount will be welcome.
  • Don’t touch the ruins: The deterioration of temples, pyramids, and monuments due to rampant tourism has reached critical levels.
  • Dress conservatively: Rural areas in the deserts are home to very conservative communities that do not see many travelers. Be cautious with revealing dress, showing affection in public, and any behavior that may offend sensibilities.

Your Guide To Egypt Nile Cruises

Your Guide To Egypt Nile Cruises

Frequently asked questions, is travel to egypt safe.

There is no warning from the British Foreign Office not to go to Cairo, Alexandria, the tourist areas along the Nile, Sharm el-Sheikh or Hurghada on the Red Sea. People also believe that the part between the Nile and the Red Sea is mostly safe.

How much does it cost to go to Egypt?

It will cost per person about 1500 USD to spend 8 days in Egypt, including a Nile river cruise and private tours with professional guides. Not bad, considering that this estimate includes private guides to all of the sites and attractions.

Should I go to Egypt now or later?

If you care a lot about the weather, the best time to visit Egypt is in the fall, winter, or early spring (October to April) in the northern hemisphere. Try to avoid high season if you want to avoid crowds at ancient sites such as the Pyramids of Giza, Luxor, and Abu Simbel (December and January).

Can I get a visa on arrival in Egypt?

Most travelers, including people with US and UK passports, need an Egypt visa. Americans and people from 40 other countries can obtain a visa to enter Egypt at Cairo International Airport at bank kiosks before immigration offices for $25 USD. These visas are valid for up to 30 days and can be used by people from the United States and 40 other countries.

Can I bring a stock of cigarettes and alcohol while visiting Egypt?

It is always recommended for travelers who want to have their own cigarettes and alcohol with them in Egypt to buy them on arrival. There are duty-free markets at airports in Cairo, Luxor, Hurghada, El Gouna, and Sharm El Sheikh. Tourists are allowed to purchase up to 3 liters of alcohol and up to 200 cigarettes upon arrival.

What do women wear in Egypt?

Leggings, Capris, and Shorts… As long as your knees are covered, you should be fine. So whether you’re wearing pants or a Capri, you’ll feel good and be polite. Women in the region wear long skirts or pants.

What types of Nile river cruises do you offer?

All of our Egypt tours that head south to Aswan come with a 3 or 4-night Nile cruise. You can always upgrade to a luxurious 5-star Nile Cruise, which has well-appointed cabins facing outward.

How much do I need to put as a deposit?

The fixed deposit is 25% of the total tour cost, excluding trips to Egypt around Christmas, New Year, and other busy times, when it goes up to 50%.

What are the working hours of shops and stores in Egypt?

Most shops in Egypt open from about 10 in the morning and stay open until 10 in the evening; however, many shops, cafes, and restaurants, especially in big cities, remain open late, and some facilities and shops are open 24 hours a day.

What are the working hours of monuments in Egypt?

Most of Egypt’s monuments, historical sites, and museums are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Open historical sites, such as the Pyramids of Giza, are open from 8 a.m. to sunset. Some museums operate in the morning, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., from 5 p.m. to 9 or 10 p.m. During Ramadan, the holy month in the Islamic calendar, know that these hours will change dramatically.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

Best Egypt tours Ever, we enjoyed our tour to Egypt with Egypt Tours Gate.

Jim D

We would sincerely like to thank Egypt Tours Gate for providing a safe, comprehensive, and memorable tourist experience of Egypt. My girlfriend & I were provided excellent service from flight touchdown to departure day. We met our first representative as we stepped off the plane, who quickly navigated us though customs, baggage collection, visa and money exchange, and finally to our hotel via private shuttle. Although the trip itinerary was outlined in advance of the trip, our guides were very receptive to making adjustments to our liking, where possible. We enjoyed seamless and headache-free travel and entrance to all the sites and adventures Egypt had to offer, with no surprises. The tour guides were very knowledgeable of all we visited, provided recommendations for how to spend time between sites, and were available virtually 24/7 for any questions/concerns we had. The accompaniment of personal guides removed a significant amount of upfront planning and the threat of costly and time-consuming logistical mistakes. This allowed us to focus on and enjoy Egypt as it was meant to be experienced. Overall, it was a great value for money. One of our favorite highlights was unwinding at the Siwa Oasis for our last leg of the trip. We decided to tag this on last minute as we were planning out the itinerary and are sure glad we did!. Siwa was a great spot for rest and relaxation as well as more fun adventures including a 4x4 keep excursion into the desert! We will never forget our cruise down the Nile either! Truly a once in a lifetime experience. We highly recommend Egypt Tours Gate for personalized tour services. They will tailor your trip to your exact needs! We are so thankful for our excursion there... Truly a childhood dream come true.
