7 day Southwest National Parks Grand Canyon Tour Tour

7 day Southwest National Parks Grand Canyon Tour

All We Could Have Asked For and More! We recently returned from the ""7 day Southwest National Parks Grand Canyon Tour"". Our tour was led by Kaitlyn Usher. The tour was wonderful, everything was near perfect and Kaitlyn is one of the kindest, hardest working and knowledgeable guides we've ever had! I had mentioned that my husband was turning 70 on the 1st day of the tour to someone at Bindlestiff 2 weeks before the tour and Kaitlyn had a small birthday cake and candles on that first lunch stop! What a nice surprise for my husband. Most anything we asked of her was taken care of and questions answered. We just can't say enough good things about her! The itinerary of the tour was great, we saw and did everything we wanted to do. The van was comfortable and kept clean by Kaitlyn every night. Plenty of items for the picnic lunches (a super idea). She always had options to match physical abilities. The 50 minute ride over the Grand Canyon (optional) was spectacular, the heliport is a distance from the rim, so be sure to do the longer ride to have enough canyon viewing time. The optional Hummer tour was very exciting and scary (in a good way). Thank you for a wonderful birthday trip and great memories!

Hiking Utah\'s Mighty 5 Tour

Hiking Utah's Mighty 5

Utah’s Big 5 My trip was absolutely amazing! We had Matt as our guide/CEO. He’d always make sure everything is going all right, never rushed us on hikes, was knowledgeable and would always tell stories about places we visited. It was raining the first two days, and we couldn’t make it to some trails, but it didn’t stop our guide to come up with some other plans. Since he knows the area well, we went on a couple more different hikes instead of the ones we couldn’t do. Cannot be more happier with the amount of trails we’ve done! Also, I was the only vegan in our group, so I was happy to know that there would always be something for me to eat, it was not a problem at all. The campgrounds were nice and clean, definitely better than I expected. I loved everything about the tour, thank you for making it such a great experience ????☀️

Thank you for this tour and experience.

Tim was a great tour guide. He was knowledgeable, helpful, and always upbeat. Time with the wildlife expert was phenomenal. the tour itself was excellent. The good ranking has to do with communications from Intrepid Travel, which were poor and lead to changed air flights and other headaches.

Hogan was our tour guide driver, fun fact infotainment, cook, photographer... he was outstanding.
Did the 3 day mini park explorer tour to Zion, Bryce, Monument Valley, Antelope Canyon and Grand Canyon. Joe and Adrian, our guides, were exceptional and made the trip comfortable and very memorable. They were knowledgeable, helpful, accommodating to special requests, and very approachable. Great planning, incredible views and hikes, a real window to the American southwest. This was my second tour with Bindlestiff and I highly recommend traveling with them!
Although the tour was very expensive- over $2000 for 3 days is over the top- it wss a great experience, saw lots of wildlife and the guide was outstanding

Where is Rocky Mountain National Park?

Rocky Mountain National Park is located in the north-central region of   Colorado , United States and is just a small part of the impressive mountain range known as the Rocky Mountains.

Nicknamed ' the Rockies ', the Rocky Mountains begin in northwest  Canada  and stretch through six of the US states before ending in   New Mexico . It is considered the largest mountain system in North America.

How do I get to Rocky Mountain National Park?

To get to Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP), you'll need to either drive or take a seasonal shuttle bus from a neighbouring town, as there is limited public transportation into the park.

The closest airport to the park is Denver International Airport (DIA) which is approximately 97 kilometres (60 miles) from the park.

The closest towns to RMNP are Estes Park to the east and Grand Lake to the west. There are highways that connect both towns to the park, however, winter weather may affect the roads, so it's always wise to check before you drive.

How do I get around Rocky Mountain National Park?

Most people get around Rocky Mountain National Park with private or group vehicles as entrances to certain hiking trails are most accessible by car.

There are shuttle services within the park that operate from May to October within the Bear Lake corridor area. There are also seasonal buses that operate in and out of Estes Park.

Cycling is also allowed within the park, but check to see where your bike can go before heading out.

When is the best time to visit Rocky Mountain National Park?

The best time to visit Rocky Mountain National Park is usually from mid-April to mid-August during the spring and summer months. However, the weather may not always be predictable because of the high altitude and mountain climate.

The busiest months at the park are typically from late July to early August and from mid-September to mid-October.

The best times for   winter activities   are from December to March, when snowfall is more likely and you may get a better chance at seeing wildlife.

Can you get altitude sickness in Rocky Mountain National Park?

Yes, you can get   altitude sickness   in Rocky Mountain National Park. The lowest point in the park has an elevation of 2,316 meters, while its highest peak reaches 4,326 meters. The town of Estes Park also sits at a higher elevation of 2,290 meters.

It is often recommended that you spend some time acclimatizing to a higher elevation before you begin hiking or trekking. This is especially recommended if you live closer to sea level.

Are there bears in Rocky Mountain National Park?

Yes, there are black bears in Rocky Mountian National Park but seeing or encountering one is rare. There are only a small number of bears in the park and they are known to be shy and likely to run away when they hear humans.

The black bear found in this part of Colorado isn't always black in color. This species can have black fur but they may also have a lighter brown coat.

Are Intrepid trips accessible for travelers with disabilities?

We are committed to making travel widely  accessible , regardless of ability or disability. We do our best to help you see the world, regardless of physical or mental limitations.

We are always happy to talk to travelers with disabilities and see if we can help guide them toward the most suitable itinerary for their needs and, where possible, make reasonable adjustments to our itineraries.

About this Guide to Rocky Mountain National Park Tours

Inside this local guide to Rocky Mountain National Park tours, you’ll find expert advice about:

  • When to visit Rocky Mountain National Park
  • What you need to know about reservations for Rocky Mountain National Park
  • How to tour Rocky Mountain National Park
  • The best Rocky Mountain National Park tours, sorted by start location
  • Additional resources for exploring Colorado

When to Visit Rocky Mountain National Park

You can visit Rocky Mountain National Park all year-round, but different seasons have different considerations to keep in mind.

Generally, late June to mid-October is the best time to visit Rocky Mountain National Park.

Local Tip: This is when Trail Ridge Road is open (generally) and you can access all areas of the park.

In the summer and early fall, the park will be extremely crowded, and you will have to make a timed entry reservation (see below), but you will also have lovely weather and could see wildflowers in bloom or beautiful fall foliage.

In the winter, the park is especially gorgeous in the snow, and snowshoeing in RMNP is a fantastic experience.

But avalanche conditions may exist on hikes, and Trail Ridge Road is closed, so you won’t be able to drive from the east to west side of the park.

View of the Rocky Mountains early in the morning during one of the best Rocky Mountain National Park tours.

Do You Need a Reservation for Rocky Mountain National Park?

Rocky Mountain National Park is the most popular of the Colorado National Parks , so a timed entry system has been implemented during peak season.

From late May to mid-October, reservations are required to enter Rocky Mountain National Park. You can find out more details about timed entry and how to make reservations on the RMNP site here.

The timed entry system is a little tricky – if it sounds really overwhelming, then selecting a tour that handles this part of the planning for you is the way to go!

Just be sure to check what’s included in your tour. (Psst: we’ve added that info below, but be sure to double-check with the tour provider, since details can change.)

What is the Best Way to Tour Rocky Mountain National Park

You can definitely explore Rocky Mountain National Park on your own, but the best Rocky Mountain National Park tours are guided by local experts who can make sure you visit all the best spots in the park.

A private tour lets you customize your itinerary if you have specific places you want to see.

One of the biggest advantages of a tour is the increased chances to see wildlife. Tour guides generally know where the bigger herds of elk are and they have a trained eye to spot wild animals.

Of course, there are no guarantees, but if you’re looking for a wildlife expert, then a tour is a great option.

3. EXCEPTIONAL TREKKING GUIDES

Wildland Trekking guides are some of the very best in the outdoor adventure industry. We know this to be true because we listen to our guests’ feedback and contrast it with average statistics for adventure travel companies. Wildland Trekking holds #1 spots on 6 different national park Trip Advisor pages in the United States. As mentioned above, our post-trip evaluations are 98% “Excellent,” which is several points above the industry average of 94% “Excellent.” And, as you can see, our industry is doing well to begin with! Wildland guides are selected not only because they love hiking and backpacking, but because they are equally passionate about sharing that love with others. And it shows.

5. ALL-INCLUSIVE TOURS

Wildland Trekking trips are all-inclusive, which means we are worrying about the pesky details of executing a Colorado hiking vacation so you don’t have to! Transportation (on multi-day tours), food, gear, other supplies, permits, first-aid, emergency communication, bear safety, reservations and more – we handle nearly everything. Many companies do not provide all of these things or charge more for them to be provided. When you hike with Wildland, we’ve got you covered!

2. VARIETY OF WAYS TO HIKE COLORADO

We offer many different ways to hike and explore the great state of Colorado, and especially Rocky Mountain National Park! We offer guided backpacking trips for guests looking to challenge themselves on exciting, backcountry adventures that go deep into the mountains. We offer portered and llama-supported treks for folks looking to enjoy the backcountry, sleeping under the stars AND hike with lighter backpacks than on a backpacking trip. Our basecamp tour and inn-based tours are opportunities for people to discover, explore and enjoy Rocky Mountain on amazing day hikes with the comfort of wonderful lodging or camping accommodations at night. And finally, if your time is limited, our day hike tours offer long, fantastic hikes into the Park that take you to remote peaks, alpine lakes, glaciers, mountain cirques and more!

4. AMAZING BACKCOUNTRY CUISINE

Food is a critical component of a premier Rocky Mountain hiking tour or Colorado backpacking trip. Not only are tasty meals important for enjoyment, they’re also an imperative piece of risk management. A hot, healthy, delicious meal fuels the body, mind and soul – it can boost morale in unmeasureable ways on a multi-day adventure. Our hiking trips are 3-5 days in length, and that can be a long time to be out in the wilderness, even on an inn-based or basecamp tour when you’re day hiking. Stopping to dine on gourmet meals is nourishing and revitalizing. And it’s part of what makes a Wildland trip a Wildland trip.

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT ROCKY MOUNTAIN TRIPS

Choosing the right rocky mountain hike.

Whether you’re a veteran hiker or just starting out, we have incredible backpacking trails that will fit you, from our basic Thunder Lake hike or the more daunting Mummy Range Trek and many in between. You can enjoy all kinds of natural wonders, from mountain lakes to glaciers to forests to flowering meadows.
  • Basecamp Rocky Mountain Hiking Tours – If you’re looking for a fantastic mountain hiking adventure without an overly long trek and a lot of heavy gear, you’ll love our Basecamp Rocky Mountain Hiking Tours. It’s the perfect, relaxing, low-key tour of the Rocky Mountains.
  • Inn-Based Colorado Hiking Tours – Looking to combine a hiking adventure with a charming inn vacation? Try out of our Inn-Based Colorado Hiking Tours. It’s the type of adventure vacation the whole family will love.
  • Porter and Llama Treks – You enjoy the full Rocky Mountain National Park hiking tour experience, and we handle all the gear. • Rocky Mountain National Park Day Hikes – Day hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park hiking are among our most popular adventures. You’ll enjoy a full day of great Rocky Mountain National Park hiking. Some people don’t always have a free week to explore the Rocky Mountains, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy some of the best the Rocky Mountains have to offer. We make it happen with these one-day guided tours right into the heart of the Continental Divide. You won’t believe how much exploring we can pack into one day. You’ll see waterfalls, wildlife, wildflowers, alpine meadows and more, all under the watchful eye and guidance of our professional trip guide.

You’ll enjoy four days of amazing snowshoeing past animal winter habitats, alpine lakes and some of the most breathtaking views anywhere. If four days is more time than you have, ask about our one-day Emerald Lake snowshoe tour.

WHEN TO HIKE Rocky Mountain National Park

The Colorado Rockies offer phenomenal year-round outdoor adventure. However, from a strictly hiker perspective, the best times of year are summer and fall. Summer is the peak season. Mosquitoes in Colorado do not tend to be very bad, which opens up the entire summer to trekking opportunities, unlike the northern mountains Wyoming and Montana, where the mosquitoes make backpacking in July hit and miss in terms of comfort and difficulty. Colorado also thaws out more quickly than its northern siblings and so the “summer” begins earlier. Great hikes can be had beginning in June and the wonderful summer temperatures last through August. In September, fall begins to creep in, and with it a truly magical transformation in Colorado. With massive elk herds, the bulls of which bugle in the fall as part of their mating rituals, and vast Aspen stands that turn deep yellow, orange and red, fall is truly a spectacular time of year to hike the Rockies. By early to mid November the mountains are becoming less hospitable, but for the hardier backcountry travelers, this time of year is still prime time. By mid November winter is normally setting in and the backcountry becomes a home for winter recreational enthusiasts, sleeping bears, and hardy mountain creatures.

PREPARING FOR YOUR Rockies TRIP

First, be sure you’re physically prepared for the trip you’ve signed up for. That means hitting the gym or exercising outdoors several days per week in the months leading up to your vacation. We heartily recommend the Stairmaster as a fantastic training tool for hikers. Additionally, you’ll want to be acclimatized for the higher elevations of the mountains. Plan on arriving a couple days early and spending some time in Denver or Estes Park so your body can produce additional red blood cells that are required at higher elevations. Finally, hydrate hydrate hydrate! Especially at altitude you can easily become dehydrated, but also because Colorado is a dry climate. If you’re coming from a most climate, your body may become rapidly dehydrated if you’re not drinking plenty of liquids. Finally, mix some electrolyte mix in with your water to avoid hyponatremia , which happens when you exercise and drink lots of water without salt and other minerals your body needs.

Excellent tour. Accommodations, meals, vehicle met and many times exceeded expectations. Each day offered new adventures, sites, options. Itinerary was perfect with driver/guide Kara being professional, cheerful, thoughtful and adaptable. I highly recommend Discover Canada and wish they did tours in the east as well. Great value for money. The support from Jennifer at head office to reconfigure end of trip helpful as well. Thanks for memorable holiday in the west.

5-stars

My mom and I, along with her friends did the full day sightseeing tour to Vancouver island with a visit to the Butchart Gardens. We had an absolutely fantastic experience and I would highly recommend if you want to see the island and gardens as the travel is all planned out and you get to sit back and enjoy everything!

Discover Canada also provides very good pricing for everything you get and our tour guide Joe was fantastic and very kind! He was very knowledgeable and made everyone feel comfortable and answered random questions everyone had throughout the day.

Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Value

I took the Whistler sightseeing tour with Joe as our guide, it was really great! Joe was very friendly and helpful, informative and knowledgeable about BC and its history; he told us interesting tidbits and stories about the province and Whistler/Blackcomb. I enjoyed being able to do my own thing on the tour, Whistler was beautiful! Thanks again to Joe and Discover Canada Tours!

Rocky Mountain wildlife we often see include American Elk, Mule Deer, Bighorn Sheep, Moose, Yellow-bellied Marmots, American Pika, Coyotes and birds like Steller's Jays, Mountain Bluebirds, Black-billed Magpies, Common Raven, Bald Eagle and so many more.

Wildlife Tours involve a good bit of driving throughout the park, a number of stops, and generally only a few minor walks as we explore Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park for animal encounters. When we find wildlife, we will generally park the vehicle and get out if its safe. Some sightings are very close, others may be so far we can only see them through the spotting scope.

Most large animals, especially Elk and Moose, are most active near dawn or dusk, so morning tours will start before sunrise, and evening tours finish after dark. Start times account for the drive time so we get amazing animal sightings.

Summer Tours starting in late May, we will likely drive over Trail Ridge Road, to 12,183 ft and back to find wildlife.

Spring and Fall Wildlife Tours follow the animals as they migrate through the Estes Park region and may spend less time in the National Park.

Winter Wildlife Tours will spend about half of the tour in Rocky Mountain National Park where Bull Elk, Mule Deer, and Coyote roam the wintering grounds. The other half of the tour we will explore the Estes Park region, some days including Devils Gulch and Dry Gulch for more elk, the Big Thompson Canyon for Bighorn Sheep, and the foothills for Prairie Dogs and birds of prey.

**Everyone will be provided a pair of world class Swarovski Binoculars, and on more distant mountain views Kowa Spotting Scopes will be set up so you get closer animals sightings than you could ever imagine.**

Photo Tours Main Goal: Take the best Photos in Rocky Mountain National Park, and improve your photography skills.

Learn how and where to take great pictures in Rocky Mountain National Park on one of our Photography Tours . Our guide has over 20 years of experience teaching Beginners how to use and understand their camera and composition, and guiding seasoned professionals and Advanced Photographers on Private Photo Workshops to help you get the best Rocky Mountains photos the Estes Park area can offer. **Included with the tour fee you have access to our professional Nikon mirrorless Z9 camera, pro f2.8 and f4 lenses from 14mm to 850mm, tripods, and filters.**

Be sure to check on the seasonal highlights to see examples of locations and subjects we can photograph. Let us know if you have major interest in any particular photographic target. Over the years, some folks have shared more interest in water over mountains, or a love of moose, pika, and wildflowers. Your guide will read the weather, time of year, and current conditions to recommend the best locations and animals for your Estes Park vacation.

Summer Photo Tours are likely to experience the common summer weather pattern of clear blue skies with some minor chance of eastern clouds. Mid morning there is a building cloud layer and by mid day the entire sky is cloudy as the afternoon thunderstorms build. Usually by 4:30 to 6pm those storms pass and more than half of the time evenings clear just before golden hour offering great light and less crowds after the storm.

Winter Photo Tours are more likely to have a risk of clouds blocking the peaks and grand views on roughly half of winter days from November until April. If we plan for grand views and the weather doesn't cooperate we can target either winter wildlife or intimate landscape scenes of snow covered trees and the like.

Best of Rocky Tours Main Goal: Experience Rocky Mountain landscape vistas, nature, subalpine lakes and forests, Alpine Tundra, waterfalls and more. We may see a few animals long the way but the focus is the best views and nature Rocky Mountain National Park has to offer.

Summer Best of Rocky Tours: On a Best of Rocky Tour we have the whole park to explore from the lowest 8,000 foot elevation glacial valleys, to the highest continunusly paved highway in the continential United States, Trail Ridge Road, driving over 12,183 feet.

There are two Naturalist led Nature Tour types: our Best of Rocky Tours, and our Nature Tours.

Best of Rocky Tours focus on an overview of Rocky Mountain National Park and visiting the best views and special ecosystems of the park. We'll visit locations including Bear Lake, and travel Trail Ridge Road.

Nature Tours focus more on "Nature Walks", diving deep into the science of the national park and relying on your particular interests in the natural world. This is a highly customized tour, so be sure to share your general interest topics and our guide can recommend a customized nature tour just for you.

Winter Best of Rocky Tours travel both in Rocky Mountain National Park, and the surrounding Estes Park region. If we have poor weather, with heavy clouds blocking the views of the high peaks, we can often find better views at lower elevations. But maybe you are interested in getting out on to a frozen subalpine lake in the middle of winter to be blasted by the wind for the experience. We can almost always customize a great experience for you.

Hiking Tours / Winter Hiking

Hiking Tours Main Goal: Experience the grandure of Rocky Mountain National Park on foot.

Summer Rocky Mountain National Park Hiking Tours: Our most heart pumping Rocky Mountain National Park Tours are Hiking Tours. We depart Estes Park in the early morning to avoid crowds and thunderstorms. We can explore glacial valleys and lakes on an easy 2 mile round trip hike to Dream Lake and Nymph Lake, to very hard all-day 10 to 15 mile hiking tours to Rocky Mountain National Park's more remote lakes and summits like Flattop Mountain. Guided Hikes provide access and timing so you have a great hike without having to worry about getting a parking spot and keeping the trail. Along the way we will point out great features of geology, ecology, and nature.

Winter Hiking and Snowshoeing Tours often have variable conditions day to day. Ice packed trails one day where snowshoes would be dangerous to use, and the next day it can snow making snowshoes a must. In the last few years Winter Hiking with Ice Cleats and Hiking Poles, starts in late October going through early December when the snow starts to really pile up. Snowshoeing season, with it's lovely soft powdery snow, runs from December until February. Once it starts to warm again in March we transition back to Winter Hiking to stay safe as wet heavy snow will cling to Snowshoes making travel hard and dangerous.

Please let us know when booking in the winter if you would only be interested in Snowshoeing.

“Rocky Mountain Ride was amazing and our guide Theressa was the best! Water and snacks were provided for us to enjoy on the way to the summit. Even though the summit was covered in clouds when we got to the top, we enjoyed the scenic drive. Theressa was a very safe driver and was very knowledgeable about Pikes Peak and the surrounding area and even offered suggestions on things to do in the area. We considered taking the COG to Pikes Peak but so glad we went with Rocky Mountain Ride instead. Theressa made frequent stops along the way where we were able to get out of the van to take lots pictures. Theressa even took several family pictures for us! Rocky Mountain Ride is the way to go to see Pikes Peak!!”

“we had an amazing time with loring and rocky mountain ride, even with the wildfire smoke affecting a good part of our view. we were looking for a more budget friendly pike’s peak tour than the ones offered by the “big boy in town”. we paid less than half the price and we didn’t have to deal with the elements. loring was a great guide who was very knowledgeable of the the mountain and its points of interest. he also took great care of us and stopped multiple times to help us adjust to the changes in altitude. snacks and waters were also included to help us adjust. (i didn’t think i would need it since i had been in the mountains before at various camps as a teenager but i am glad we stopped. my head was feeling a little “whooshy” when we hit the summit.) loring even stopped at one of the gift stores on the way down that we had already hit on the way up so my son could get the perfect sticker for his trombone case. i can’t recommend rocky mountain ride enough. thanks for taking such great care of us”, “had a fantastic time at pikes peak with rocky mountain ride nick our tour guide was fantastic, answered all our questions and also gave us highlights at the stops made. he even put on a big foot costume which the kids were thrilled by. highly recommended and got to enjoy the views and nick was a safe driver.”, “we loved our tour up to pikes peak nick was super knowledgeable, fun, and expert in driving. nick shared interesting facts and stories along the way, and he was fun to have conversation with. the views were amazing, and he did a great job of pulling over/stopping for scenic views and picture taking along the way. we felt totally comfortable with his driving and were worry-free coming up and down the mountain (we couldn’t have enjoyed doing the driving ourselves). it was great getting dropped off at the top for the visitor’s center and not worrying about parking. we appreciated the bottled water and snacks provided in the van great tour and worth the money”, “1) my family and i had a wonderful ride with nick, we booked a private tour to pikes peak summit, he picked us on time from our hotel. nick was very kind and friendly , he made couple stops and explained everything, he knew the best areas to stop for the best views. we kept asking him questions and he responded kindly and never got tired of answering our questions. he also took family pictures for us. will definitely use rocky mountain ride again and recommend to anyone looking for private or group tour ride.”.

Where do the tours begin? Our tours pick up from our office location in downtown Colorado Springs. 111 E Cimarron St., Colorado Springs, CO 80903. If you are staying at the Garden of the Gods RV Resort or Pikes Peak RV Park, we can pick you up along the way!

How long does it take to get to the top of Pikes Peak? The Pikes Peak Highway is a 19 mile, steep, paved road to the summit of Pikes Peak. There are lots of winding switchbacks. If we went straight up the mountain with no stops, it would take about an hour. Our tour takes about 1.5 hours to the summit. While we may not make stops at every single location, there are a few points of interest along the tour that we’d like to show you including Crystal Reservoir, the Bigfoot sighting area, Devils Playground, the Bottomless Pit, the historic Glen Cove Inn, and of course, all the sights from the top of Pikes Peak which include views into Kansas and New Mexico. You can also see the Catamount Reservoirs and Rampart Reservoir. 30 minutes is allowed at the top where you can visit the Summit House and sample Pikes Peak’s world famous doughnuts!

Do your tours go all the way to the top? Yes, our tours go all the way to the summit as we are allowed. Sometimes a weather event might prevent us, along with all other traffic, from being able to access the summit even if most of the Pikes Peak Highway remains open. We will always go as far as we can only if it’s open and absolutely safe to do so. Getting to the summit is never a guarantee.

Should I bring water? Can I bring snacks? We strongly suggest drinking lots of water before and during the tour. We will provide water bottles and snacks for our passengers. There will be an opportunity to purchase food from the Summit House on Pikes Peak as well.

What should I wear? You’ll have to dress for a dramatic temperature change! We recommend layers of clothing. While it may be hot in Colorado Springs, the summit of Pikes Peak may be 40 degrees colder with gusty winds. Bring a jacket or sweater with you. Since the terrain is rocky and uneven, closed toe shoes are strongly suggested.

Does the driver make stops along the way? The driver makes 3 to 4 stops along the tour at certain points of interest. At the summit, you will have up to 30 minutes of time to explore on your own before returning to the vehicle.

What if I need to use the restroom? Restrooms are available along the Pikes Peak highway and at the summit of Pikes Peak.

Which vehicle will we ride in? Most of our Pikes Peak Tours will occur in a passenger van with captain’s chairs. If there is an especially large number of passengers, we might send multiple vans. If there is a very small number of passengers, a minivan might be used. If a child in your group needs to use a car seat or a booster seat, please bring yours and we will help you install it.

Do you allow pets on the shuttle? We are a pet friendly company! If you wish to bring your pet along on your Pikes Peak shuttle, please reserve a private ride. Pets will not be allowed on the regular, shared ride tour. Be aware that pets are not allowed inside the Summit House or any other gift shop along the Pikes Peak Highway. Pets must always be leashed any time they are outside of the vehicle.

Car Seat Policy: Please provide a car seat for your children. Our drivers will install the car seat for you if you wish. If you are traveling without a car seat and you have a child under 2 years old, you may request to use ours. Children requiring a car seat must be always restrained in a car seat when the vehicle is in motion. See the Colorado Child Passenger Safety Laws for more information . Children or adults of any age are never permitted to ride in the lap of another passenger.

Cancellation Policy: 100% refund if canceled at least 48 hours prior to scheduled departure (pick up) time. 50% refund if canceled between 24 – 48 hours in advance. No refund if canceled less than 24 hours prior to scheduled departure time.

NEW Private Tours Available! Your group can choose to make a reservation for a private tour of Pikes Peak with custom times and pick ups from your hotel, vacation rental, or home. Choose the private tour option when booking.
