Then, we are back in our coach, relaxing and enjoying the sites of the Everglades as we travel along the Tamami Trail (US Hwy. 41). Sometimes the canal is on one side, sometimes it’s on the opposite side of the coach and sometimes it’s on both! Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for alligators up on the canal bank sunning, or maybe in the water keeping cool. We’ll be stopping for dinner at one of the local restaurants along the way (on your own) before arriving at our final hotel destination, the Hampton Inn in Marathon. (Lunch is included this day.)

Day 2: Tuesday, January 30

Before heading out this morning, enjoy a hot buffet breakfast at the hotel. We’ll board the coach for a short trip (approximately 1 hour) to Key West!

Our coach will drop us in the new designated bus drop off area, where we will board the Conch Train for a 1-hour introductory tour of the island. This is the time I suggest you begin to make your plans for the areas you want to go back and visit. Enjoy on-and-off privileges for the whole day on the train, providing your transportation around the city. You will have a chance this evening to witness the beautiful sunset Key West is known for, as well as having an opportunity to witness all the hoopla that takes place in the evenings at Mallory Square. Be sure and grab dinner early so you’ll have time to enjoy all of this as we will depart Key West soon afterwards.

At the end of the day the train will take the entire group from Mallory Square back to our coach (exact time will be given to you before arriving in Key West for the day). Our coach will be waiting for us back at the drop off spot for our return trip to Marathon. (Breakfast is included this day.)

Day 3: Wednesday, January 31

Enjoy breakfast this morning before checking out of our hotel and beginning the journey home. Upon arrival back on the mainland we’ll grab an early

lunch on your own at the Cracker Barrel located in Florida City before traveling on to Miami Beach and boarding the Ducks for a 90-minute

land/water tour of the area. If you’ve never experienced a Duck Tour, then you’re in for a treat!

Then it’s on to Ft. Lauderdale. Time permitting, we will check into our hotel, the Holiday Inn Express, before enjoying an evening cruise on the Jungle Queen. The Jungle Queen will take us on a narrated sightseeing cruise down the “Venice of America”, where you will see homes of the rich and famous. Once we arrive at their private tropical island, we will have an

all-you-can-eat BBQ dinner featuring baby back ribs, chicken and delicious sides. During your meal, sit back and enjoy the show of comedy, magic, music and more. (Breakfast and Dinner are included this day.)

About Muzium Negara

c&d tours tours

Muzium Negara is located in the heart of the city of Kuala Lumpur and set amongst a neighbourhood of historical buildings and romantic parkland. Muzium Negara’s architecture is a fine blend of traditional Malay style and modern lines. The museum building, apart from being stimulating from the point of tradition also presents a panoramic view of the development of Malaysia, as depicted by the two large murals of Italian glass mosaic, which extend across the museum’s façade. Muzium Negara was officially opened on 31 August 1963, on the site of the Selangor Museum, which was accidentally bombed during the Second World War.

The main museum building houses four exhibition galleries featuring Malaysia’s history and rich cultural diversity.

c&d tours tours

Gallery A The Prehistory Gallery showcases the formation of the Malay Archipelago with findings of numerous important prehistoric archaeological sites in Malaysia. An example is Kota Tampan, a pebble tool production workshop with the latest findings dating it to about 75,000 years ago.  A highlight among the exhibits is a complete skeleton of the Perak Man dated 10,000-11,000 years ago.

c&d tours tours

Gallery B The Early Malay Kingdom Gallery features the existence of the Malay States and highlights the zenith of the Malaccan Empire during the 15th century as centre for the spice trade and the proliferation of Islam. Malacca was known as the ‘greatest emporium the world has ever seen” and a “Golden Chersonese .” It is an anthropologist’s delight due to its astonishing diversity of people, cultures and images.

c&d tours tours

Gallery C Colonial Era The fall of Malaccan Empire in 1511 to the Portuguese was the start of 446 years of foreign influence, from the Dutch, British and then Japanese. In the Colonial Era Gallery, the visitor is able to observe the influences that have molded the development of the nation during the 19th century. Alongside the exhibition texts are displayed weapons, ceramics, shipwreck porcelains, coins and paper currencies, medals and decorations, a model of a tin dredge and tin ingots. The masterpiece exhibited in this gallery is the Pangkor Treaty Table used by the Malay Sultan and the British to sign the Pangkor Treaty of 1874.

c&d tours tours

Gallery D The Malaysia Today Gallery brings visitors to the sights and sounds of the Road Towards Independence. It begins with the nationalistic movement of the 1940s to the glorious achievements of Malaysia today. The gallery provides an insight for visitors, with a knowledge and understanding of the changes and continuity of Malaysia from the 1930s to a dynamic and progressive Malaysia today.

iwant to come to this place and I have a dream to be a archaeologist

Nice! All the best to you.

It is quite user-friendly and pleasant to read. Please correct the typos, especially serious ones regarding our nation and facts, like in the section above for Gallery B, it should be Chersonese instead of Cherosene.

Dear Mohd Sayuti b. Abdullah,

Many thanks for your mail and for pointing out the typo in the Gallery B where Cherosene is written insted of Chersonese. You mention that there are some serious typos on the site, please could you tell me where these are, so that I can correct them.

Many thanks, Lorien (MV Website)

I would love to hear about anyone's experiences on the A B C D tours.

Trying to decide which are best as we will only be there for 2 nights.

Also is the combo tours too much to do in one day?

Is it better to do a single tour?

c&d tours tours

https://www.tripadvisor.com.au/ShowTopic-g294256-i9213-k5233483-o10-Which_Island_Hopping_Tour_to_choose-El_Nido_Palawan_Island_Palawan_Province_Mimaropa.html#39943754

Hi, you are better to do combine tours if you only have a short stay, because it is a shame to go all that way to do just one tour out of 4, and each island tour only has 4 or 5 stopovers, so combining 2 tours into 1 day is easy to do, as long as your boat operator departs around 8am just to add an extra hour to your schedule.

These are 3 custom island tour maps that i created earlier this year for those who only have 1 or 2 days.

Tour 1: This is a combination of the traditional tours A & B, which includes what i believe are 10 of the best stopovers that are available out of all 4 island tours, and this tour can easily be done in a single day, as long as your boat operator is prepared to depart at around 8am, and return by 5pm.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/7ggxdkektj9tccq/El%20Nido%20Island%20Tour%2001.jpg?dl=0

Tour 2: this is a combination of the traditional island tours C & D, with a few extra stopovers at Miniloc island on the way back, if your boatsman has time to do them, and this tour can also be done in a single day, as long as your boat operator is prepared to depart at 8am, and return by 5pm.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/dtlksq3au95fwqu/El%20Nido%20Island%20Tour%2002.jpg?dl=0

Tour 3: this is a combination of the traditional half day island tour D, plus a trip over to the ZipLine at Delpeldet Island (Las Cabanas) after having lunch at Helicopter Island at 1pm, but do remember that you will need to pay for your tickets for the ZipLine on top of the cost of the tour, unless your tour operator includes it in the tour cost.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/5kr8t72wuwayxcx/El%20Nido%20Island%20Tour%2003.jpg?dl=0

Tour 3 will is not available from any of the tour operators in El Nido as it was a tour that I devised myself, so you will need to download the Map and send it to your tour operator to see if they can do the tour for you, and to give you a quote to do it.

Wow thanks!

I have heard from people that tour C is the best? Any thoughts?

I seriously can't understand why they say that, when tour A and tour B are far better (in my opinion) and even tour D is better than C as well.

Tour C is furthest from town, and you spend a lot more time in the boat because the stopovers are further apart.

Also, if you are not a good swimmer, or not very confident in the water, then you cannot go into Secret Beach on tour C without a kayak, because the boat stops outside a rocky outcrop, and you need to go thru a small hole in the rocks to get into this beach.

Small Lagoon on tour A is similar as it is a lagoon behind the rocks, but the opening is bigger, but you still need a kayak to go inside to paddle around.

Anyway, others will disagree with me, but what i will say is that if you had 4 days to do 4 tours then it may be a good idea, but for me, doing 2 combined tours rather than 4 separate tours is easier to do, less draining on your time, and it can work out to be cheaper as well, depending which tour operator you use.

Thanks for the reply!

Any recommended tour operator? Can I book the tour when I get there?

The island tours that operate from the main beach and pier near town are usually public joiner tours, which takes various tourists on the single island tours, and you could be on a boat with several other tourists.

To do the combined tours, you usually need to pre-book these thru one of the tour operators in El Nido, which you do thru their websites.

Below is a list of 5 tour operators that i personally know of who are located in El Nido, and all of them offers a variety of tours.

Midnight Sun is a small family run business based in Caalan beach, they own 3 or 4 of their own boats of various sizes, and they actually operate their own tours, with the owners sons being the licensed boat captains, so if you book tours with them you are dealing direct with the family who own the business.

The other 4 tour operators do not own their own boats for their island tours, they simply act as a booking agent who will book your group into a tour with one of the local island tour boats.

Rock trailblazer Heart reunites for a world tour and a new song

NEW YORK — Heart — the pioneering band that melds Nancy Wilson’s shredding guitar with her sister Ann’s powerhouse vocals — is hitting the road this spring and fall for a world tour that Nancy Wilson describes as “the full-on rocker size.”

“I’ve been strengthening. I’ve got my trainer,” she says. “You go one day at a time and you strengthen one workout session at a time. It’s a lot of work, but it’s the only job I know how to do.”

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers who gave us classic tracks like “Magic Man,” “Crazy on You” and “Alone” will be playing all the hits, some tracks from of their solo albums — like Ann Wilson’s “Miss One and Only” and Nancy Wilson’s “Love Mistake” — and a new song called “Roll the Dice.”

“I like to say we have really good problems because the problem we have is to choose between a bunch of different, really cool songs that people love already,” says Nancy Wilson.

Like “Barracuda,” a sonic burst which first appeared on the band’s second album, “Little Queen” and is one of the band’s most memorable songs.

“You can’t mess with ‘Barracuda.’ It’s just the way it is. It is great. You get on the horse and you ride. It’s a galloping steed of a ride to go on. And for everybody, including the band.”

The tour kicks off Saturday at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina, and will hit cities including Atlanta, Boston, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, Cleveland, Detroit, as well as the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado. International dates include stops in London, Oslo, Berlin, Stockholm, Montreal and Glasgow.

The band’s Royal Flush Tour will have Cheap Trick as the opening act for many stops, but Def Leppard and Journey will join for three stadium dates in Cleveland, Toronto and Boston this summer.

Ann and Nancy Wilson will be filled out by Ryan Wariner (lead and rhythm guitar), Ryan Waters (guitars), Paul Moak (guitars, keyboards and backing vocals), Tony Lucido (bass and backing vocals) and Sean T. Lane (drums).

The tour is the first in several years for Heart, which was rocked by a body blow in 2016 when Ann Wilson’s husband was arrested for assaulting Nancy’s 16-year-old twin sons. Nancy Wilson says that’s all in the past.

“We can take any kind of turbulence, me and Ann, and we’ve always been OK together,” she says. “We’re still steering the ship and happy to do it together. So we’re tight.”

The new tour will take them to Canada, which was warm to the band when they were starting out as what Nancy Wilson calls “a couple of chicks from Seattle.” She recalls Vancouver embracing Heart, and touring in one van across Canada in the dead of winter on two lane highways.

The Wilson sisters broke rock’s glass ceiling in the ‘70s and Nancy Wilson says they only had male influences to look to, like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and the Moody Blues.

Now she says she looks out and loves seeing generations of female rockers. “You have boygenius and you have Billie Eilish and you have Olivia Rodrigo and so many amazing women — Maggie Rogers and Sheryl Crow, who calls us her big influence. And then Billie Eilish might have Sheryl Crow as her influence. So it’s a really nice legacy to pass along. I like to say we’re the OG — the original gangsters — of women and rock.”

Heart has made it into the Rock Hall, won Grammys, sold millions of albums and rocked hundreds of thousands of fans but Nancy Wilson has one place she’d still like to shine.

Next year will mark the 50th anniversary of their debut album, “Dreamboat Annie,” which was the same year that “Saturday Night Live” started. “So we’re actually kind of putting it out there — Heart never played on ‘Saturday Night Live.’ But what about the 50th birthday party with Heart?”

El Nido Island Hopping – Guide To The Best Tours

Posted on Last updated: June 4, 2023

El Nido is a small, beachside town on the northern tip of Palawan island, which has become increasingly popular over the last few years.

It’s mostly used as a base for exploring the incredible natural splendour of the surrounding archipelago.

Known as the Bacuit Archipelago, the area is home to some of the most beautiful islands, lagoons, and beaches in the world. There’s stunning scenery everywhere you look.

The waters are incredibly clear and the sand is always brilliant white. Striking limestone rock formations pepper the sea, with tropical trees and coconuts in abundance.

Enjoying the untouched beaches of El Nido

I was lucky enough to explore the area with some island hopping tours during my trip through the Philippines , and I’m here to tell you how to do the same. A bit of island hopping is a must on any El Nido itinerary .

In this guide, I break down everything you need to know about going island hopping in El Nido, and share some tips on how to make the most of your visit.

If you’re looking to spend some incredible days in paradise island hopping amongst pristine beaches and clear water, El Nido is the place for you!

You might just be unsure about what tour to do, which is where this El Nido tours overview comes in!

A brief run down of the El Nido standard tours

Taking a Palawan island hopping tour is without a doubt the best and most popular way to experience the area. There are four main El Nido island hopping tours. Named simply A, B, C, and D.

Tour A is the most popular of the bunch, meaning it’s also generally the most crowded. But it’s a favourite for good reason, boasting some of the most epic islands and stunning lagoons.

It makes stops at Small Lagoon, 7 Commando Beach, Secret Lagoon, Big Lagoon, and Shimizu Island.

Check out prices & availability for your El Nido Tour A on GetYourGuide , Klook , or in the calendar below!

Tour B is less popular and more laid back than Tour A. This makes for an amazing day of adventure and sightseeing without as many tourists.

Tour B’s stops include Pinagbuyutan Island, Vigan Island, Cathedral Cave, Cudugnon Cave, and Entalula Beach.

Tour C is a strong contender for the most popular tour and is often considered the best one. This, of course, means that it can also get quite busy.

But it stops at some incredible destinations, including Helicopter Island, Secret Beach, Mantiloc Shrine, Hidden Beach, and Star Beach.

Tour D explores the path less-travelled. It’s the quietest of the four and avoids most of the ‘must-see’ attractions.

But it stops at some hidden gems: Ipil Beach, Paradise Beach, Cadlao Lagoon, Pasandigan Beach, Bukal Beach, and Natnat Beach.

My El Nido, Palawan island hopping experience

Most travellers here just pick one or two of the four classic El Nido boat tours and follow the crowd. But island hopping in the area has become incredibly popular. So the standard tours can get quite crowded and feel overly ‘touristy’.

Fortunately, there are other ways to do it. We organised all of our El Nido island tours through Outpost Beach Hostel , and I’m really glad that we did.

The tours we took allowed us to see the best bits of all the classic tours with a great group of people. All while avoiding the crowds.

The Hostel is set right on a stunning beach, just outside of El Nido town. The crowd is young, vibrant, and interesting. And this atmosphere certainly carries over to the tours.

Unlike most El Nido island hopping boats, the hostel’s boats are occupied only by people who have booked directly with Outpost Beach Hostel, which means the typical hostel crowd. All the passengers are laid-back backpackers.

There aren’t any families or older couples on board. This creates a really cool atmosphere for enthusiastic, adventurous travellers and makes for plenty of great conversation. We couldn’t have asked for more!

The Outpost Hostel’s El Nido Tours

Outpost Beach Hostel only offers two tours which they alternate between on a daily basis. One day is a combination of tours A and B and the next day is a combination of tours C and D.

These tours can be organised with the hostel directly when you arrive. The combo tours are great because they each blend a popular tour with a less popular tour, allowing you to get the best of both worlds.

They stop by at most of the main highlights of the standard tours. But they do so in the opposite direction – for the sake of avoiding the crowds. It’s a simple trick that makes a world of difference.

We genuinely felt like we were visiting private beaches most of the time. Both of the hostel’s island hopping tours are the usual all-inclusive fare, each stopping for lunch along the way.

And so far as lunches go, the one they offer is pretty amazing. They cooked up some delicious barbecued fish which we ate on the beach. And there’s free-flowing rum on the cruise back at sunset!

The tours are a fixed price of 1,500 pesos per person. Just a little more expensive than each of the classic tours (which go for around 1,300 pesos on average).

But each of the combo tours offers highlights from two classic tours, so they could be seen as more affordable.

Each of the combo tours offers a unique experience, and I’m really happy we ended up doing both. Here’s a breakdown of each tour, with some more detailed information on my favourite stops.

El Nido Tour A and B Combo

The stops include:

– Pinagbuyutan Island

– Snake island

– Pupolcan island

– Entalula island

– Seven commandos beach

Pinagbuyutan Island

A narrow strip of white sand and coconut trees line the shores of Panagbuyutan, with rugged rocky cliffs towering up above. It’s an impressively dramatic island that juts boldly out of the sea.

The main destination here is Ipil beach, where visitors can relax, swim, and explore. There’s a distinctly desert island type atmosphere, with very little evidence of human presence.

And being a Tour B stop, it’s not particularly popular, meaning it’s usually really quiet. It’s worth venturing beyond the beach if time allows. There are a bunch of little secret coves and pockets tucked away.

Snake Island, El Nido

Vigan Island, or as it’s more commonly known, Snake Island, is a tiny island just off of mainland Palawan.

It earned the name Snake Island thanks to the long, winding sandbar that connects it to the mainland (not for actual snakes – you can relax).

The sandbar is usually covered in roughly half a meter of water. Most visitors spend their time walking through the water and soaking up the breathtaking scenery.

There is also a little viewpoint from which you can see the sand bar from above.

The view of the sandbar of Snake Island from the viewpoint

Entalula Beach

Entalula Beach is a textbook paradise. The water is impossibly clear, the sand is dazzlingly white, and the rock formations are truly stunning.

It’s almost entirely undisturbed wilderness, with a series of tiny bays and coves to explore. Each one peppered with tropical vegetation.

A stop here will likely entail a lot of swimming and splashing in the warm waters, relaxing on the pristine beach, and admiring the unreal natural beauty.

As a tour B stop, it’s usually pretty quiet, so there won’t be hoards of tourists to detract from the magic.

Seven Commandos Beach

Seven Commandos Beach is a little bigger and more popular than many of the others. So while there are usually quite a few other people, the beach is big enough to share.

It remains almost entirely undeveloped, with the exception of a few huts and shelters. The palm-lined beachfront is a prime spot to relax and have a few dips in the water.

It’s also a popular spot to do a bit of snorkelling. You may even spot a sea turtle or two while exploring the beach’s underwater world.

El Nido Tour C and D Combo

– Paradise beach

– Bukal Island

– Pasandigan beach

– Cadlao Lagoon

– Helicopter Island

Here are some of the best bits in detail.

Paradise Beach

Paradise Beach is certainly one of the lesser-known gems of El Nido. It’s a stop on Tour D, so it’s often less busy than the better-known islands.

The beach certainly lives up to its name, with a small white-sand shorefront, palm trees, and crystal waters. While there isn’t much to do other than admire it, hang out, and swim, it’s a great little beach with a charming remote-island vibe.

Pasandigan Beach

It might not be called Paradise Beach but Pasandigan Beach comes second to none when it comes to natural beauty. Fine white sand, clear turquoise water, palm trees lining the edge of it and sheer cliffs in the backdrop.

Even if you may soon get used to these beautiful scenarios while island hopping in the Philippines, trust me when I say it never gets less impressive. This is a fun beach for chilling, tanning and swimming.

Helicopter Island, El Nido

As a Tour C stop, Helicopter Island is one of the most popular in El Nido and can be busier than other stops. But there’s a good amount of space, so it doesn’t feel overly crowded.

Believe it or not, the island actually resembles a helicopter from certain aerial angles. Hence the rather obscure name. It’s a great place to relax and swim, but it also offers some fantastic snorkelling.

The waters by the shore are home to a stunning variety of underwater life. So be sure to put on a mask and dive under the surface for an otherworldly experience.

Cruising towards Helicopter Island… can you see the helicopter?

Playing on the beach of Helicopter Island

Cadlao Lagoon

Cadlao Lagoon is the only lagoon that the Outpost Beach Hostel tours visit. The standard island hopping tours go to more famous lagoons, which ultimately are always incredibly busy.

During the tour C and D combo we visited Cadlao Lagoon which was a perfect in between experience.

We still got to see the stunning scenery of the clear turquoise water surrounded by the steep limestone cliffs, with only a few other boats around.

Trees and dramatic rock formations hang over turquoise waters at Cadlao Lagoon. It’s a little pocket of heaven on Tour D that immerses you fully in an incredible landscape.

The rocky walls that surround it are sheer, with plants growing from the cracks. And the water is perfect for a swim.

Here the hostel boat put some kayaks in the water for us to explore the lagoon with. You should also grab a mask and snorkel and swim close to the cliffs, the underwater views are so different from those of a beach!

Kayaking in El Nido

The Classic El Nido, Palawan tours attractions

While the hostel’s tours hit most of the top attractions, there are a few that they miss out. The following are some of the best attractions that are offered on the classic tours.

The El Nido lagoons on Tour A

The main element that’s lacking in Outpost Hostel’s tours is a focus on lagoons . They revolve more around the beaches, which are great. But there are some amazing lagoon stops on Tour A which the hotel leaves out.

El Nido is famous for its stunning lagoons, with Big Lagoon and Small Lagoon being two of the most popular. They’re basically isolated little pockets of seawater, surrounded by stunning cliff faces, vegetation, and rock formations.

The lagoons are almost the opposite of an island; water surrounded by land rather than the other way around. So they can be a refreshing change.

The tour boats tend to be too big to access the lagoons, due to shallow sections and small entrances. So you can usually rent a kayak to explore them or brave the waters and opt to swim.

Island hopping in El Nido

Island hopping in El Nido

The caves on Tour B

The caves of El Nido may not have the same tropical charm as its beaches and lagoons. But they certainly make for an interesting and memorable experience.

Cathedral Cave and Cudugnon Cave are two of the most popular, both of which can be explored on tour B. Cudugnon Cave is accessed by climbing through a small hole in a cliff face.

Once inside, it opens up to reveal steep, jagged ceiling and rocky walls. There are holes overhead, pouring in golden sunlight and creating an ethereal vibe.

Cathedral Cave is larger and less closed off. And it’s a pretty amazing space. The boat anchors nearby and you can swim or kayak inside.

Where to stay in El Nido

As you may have guessed from this post I stayed at Outpost Beach Hostel , and I loved it. Besides the epic island hopping tours, Outpost is possibly one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at.

The hostel itself is very cool, located right on the beach with spacious communal areas. They have a great restaurant and bar, with fun social events on every night.

They also have a 10:30PM curfew time so you can get drunk and socialise, but if you want to go to bed early you don’t have to cope with loud party travellers.

The dorms all have aircon, with big and spacious beds and big drawers under the bunkbeds to lock up your belongings.

If you don’t want to stay in a hostel there are a few guest houses and boutique hotels next to it along the beach, where you can get a private room.

That way you can have your own room but still go to Outpost in evenings, bond with the hostel crowd and join their island hopping tours.

However Outpost is around a 5-minute tuk-tuk journey out of El Nido town centre. If you prefer to be central a couple good options are either El Nido Garden Resort or El Nido Beach Hotel .

Final Thoughts about island hopping in El Nido

The island hopping tours that are available in El Nido offer a range of fantastic experiences to suit a variety of tastes and preferences. Outpost Hostel’s tours are a great option, but everyone’s different, and some may choose to stick with the standard tours.

If the classic tours sound more appealing to you, you can book them ahead of time online. I’ve listed them below with a recap.

Tour A – The most popular one that hits all the main highlights, but also the busiest one

Tour B – Goes off the beaten track to spots without as many crowds

Tour C – Great snorkelling and caves, second most popular and contender with tour A for the title of best tour in El Nido

Tour D – Visits the hidden gems the other tours don’t go to.

This is also a good option for those who want to have everything booked and sorted before travelling.

The incredibly turquoise water of El Nido

The incredibly turquoise water of El Nido

Whichever tours you choose, you’re bound to have an unforgettable adventure! Just be sure to pack wisely for your trip .

Island hopping in El Nido was one of the most magical things I’ve experienced. We went island hopping also in Siargao and in Coron , but the boat trips in El Nido were simply way more fun.

With so many incredible sights, perfect-temperature water, amazing island vibes, and wonderful weather, the area is nothing short of paradise.

I hope you find this El Nido island hopping guide useful in deciding what tour to do, and in planning your own time in El Nido!

From “shallcross”.

I’m sure there is a word In English there is always a word What is that low-flying short-winged bird Your mother would know Even if she can’t call up its name They fly alone notwithstanding They are abundant But they fly only the breadth of a field

from One Big Self ["Count your fingers"]

Count your fingers

Count your toes

Count your nose holes

Count your blessings

Count your stars (lucky or not)

Count your loose change

Count the cars at the crossing

Count the miles to the state line

Count the ticks you pulled off the dog

Count your calluses

Count your shells

Count the points on the antlers

Count the newjack’s keys

Count your cards; cut them again

Expert Picks: RBC Heritage

How it works: Each week, our experts from PGATOUR.COM will make their selections in PGA TOUR Fantasy Golf. Each lineup consists of four starters and two bench players that can be rotated after each round. Adding to the challenge is that every golfer can be used only three times per each of four Segments.

Aside from the experts below, Golfbet Insider Rob Bolton breaks down the field at the RBC Heritage in this week's edition of Power Rankings .

Betting picks

WILL GRAY (Lead, Fantasy & Betting)

  • Winner: Collin Morikawa (+2000) – A lot of pieces fell into place last week in Augusta for the two-time major champ. Now he makes the short trip to another layout that should accentuate his ball-striking, assuming the irons travel with him to the coast.
  • Top 10: Shane Lowry (+300) – The Irishman has had some success here in recent years, including three top-10s in the last five years with a pair of T3 results among that bunch.
  • Longshot: J.T. Poston (+6600) – The North Carolina native knows a thing or two about playing in this part of the country, and his track record at Harbour Town includes three top-8 finishes in the last five years.
  • H2H: Cameron Young (-120) over Jordan Spieth – I’m not sold that a trip to Low Country will cure what ails Spieth, despite his recent run of success here. Young finished T3 here two years ago and should have similar success this time around.

BEN EVERILL (Senior writer, Fantasy & Betting)

  • Winner: Xander Schauffele (+1400) – They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. I guess I’m insane.
  • Top 10: Matt Fitzpatrick (+200) – Defending champion loves this place. Once walked the famous lighthouse with Fitz and could see his true desire to be remembered in Harbour Town. Could easily defend.
  • Longshot: Cam Davis (+5000) – A constant contender on this track who also found some form at the Masters. The Aussie relies on confidence and last week returned his positive thoughts.
  • H2H: Russell Henley (-110) over Si Woo Kim – Henley is in the midst of a solid season while Si Woo is a roller coaster who I’m banking is on the down this week, not up.

CHRIS BREECE (Senior content manager, Golfbet)

  • Winner: Patrick Cantlay (+1600) – No one has gained more strokes on the field at Harbour Town than Cantlay in the last five years. He was third and second here the last two years here.
  • Top 10: Tommy Fleetwood (+160) – He’s the kind of guy where one great week at a big venue can spark something. T15 and T10 the two years here.
  • Longshot: Cam Davis (+5000) – Great week in Augusta. The only person who has gained more strokes on the field at Harbour Town is Cantlay.
  • H2H: Cameron Young (-120) over Jordan Spieth – Spieth’s comments on his injured wrist are sticking with me, especially after his Masters performance.

MATT DELVECCHIO (Social content manager, Fantasy & Betting)

  • Winner: Will Zalatoris (+2500) – Little to no history at Harbour Town with only one start in 2021 where he finished T42. With that being said, he’s the eighth favorite on the odds board in a stacked Signature Event for a reason. His game is perfect for Harbour Town ranking eighth in SG: Approach and 21st in SG: Tee-to-Green. A solid performance last week at the Masters makes me think he’s on the cusp of his second TOUR victory.
  • Top 10: Akshay Bhatia (+375) – Looked healthy last week in his Masters debut, Akshay did not disappoint posting a respectable T35. Same reasoning as Willy Z, Akshay's game is perfect for Harbour Town as Akshay tops the charts in both of those same categories of SG: Approach and SG: Tee-to-Green. His shaky finish at Valero is why I’m hesitant to take him to win, so I’ll go with the high finish.
  • Longshot: Lucas Glover (+5500) – There is so much to like about Lucas Glover's game this season as he’s carried the momentum exactly where he left off from last season winning two playoff events. The 44-year-old is only +5500 in a Signature Event… he is the perfect mold for a Harbour Town Golf Links W. I may regret not taking him as my main winner...
  • H2H: Morikawa (-110) over Cantlay – Cantlay has an unbelievable course history but he’s been mediocre over the last two months. Morikawa came out of nowhere last week and competed down the stretch. I think that makes him hungry to make up for it and come out swinging this week.

Woman tried to board flight at Memphis Airport with 56 pounds of marijuana: Reports

c&d tours tours

Before a 21-year-old Memphis woman could board an United Airlines flight, Memphis International Airport Police found 56 pounds of marijuana in her luggage, according to multiple reports.

The woman was charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intention to manufacture, deliver or sell, Shelby County jail records show. This charge is a felony offense that "carries harsh penalties," the Law Office of Bernie McEvoy , an attorney in Nashville, Tennessee, said.

The woman is now free after posting a $5,000 bond, according to Shelby County jail records.

TSA best catches: Naruto throwing knives, weed diaper, projectile and more

Woman allowed airport police to check her luggage, had name tag on bags, according to reports

Memphis airport police caught the woman Sunday after finding her luggage "busted open" on a United Airlines bag cart, WMC-TV reported. The woman's name tag was attached to the bags, the Memphis, Tennessee-based TV station said.

After locating the woman's luggage, she gave airport police permission to search her bags, WMC-TV said. Once the drugs were found, she was subsequently arrested.

USA TODAY contacted Memphis International Airport Police on Thursday and was told the department is working to provide a police report.

How much would 56 pounds of marijuana go for on the street?

When a St. Paul, Minnesota man was arrested for possessing 56 pounds of marijuana in May 2013, now-retired Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom estimated the drugs had a street value between $171,000 and $342,000, WCCO , branded CBS Minnesota, reported.

More recently, the Butler County Sheriff's Office seized 56 pounds of marijuana from a property in El Dorado, Kansas in July 2021 and valued the drugs at $180,000, the Witchita Eagle reported.
