A wonderful day on the water!
We have been on many catamaran cruises off the west coast of Barbados and have used many of the companies that offer these trips. We keep returning to Calabaza. It is always a great experience. The crew of Chad, our captain, and our crew, Fabian and Ben were wonderful. They looked after us, made us feel at home and created an atmosphere that allowed us to really enjoy our day on the water. I would highly recommend the experience.
The whole experience was excellent. We were in a group of 12 guests which meant the boat was not crowded. There was a seat in the shade for everyone and plenty of space on the sun deck to enjoy the sun and views of the Barbados coast. The crew of three were really nice people who offered a running supply of food and drinks. When we went snorkling, we saw turtles, fish and some WW2 wrecks. Our snorkel buddy Sean was informative and kept us all together. Back on board, to more food and drinks. The food was hot and tasty, the rum punch served cold and spicy and mixed with safety in mind so nobody had too much rum. A memorable experience and thoroughly recommended. My wife who likes to snorkel remained on the boat and she had a great time watching the turtles from the deck. Thanks Mikey and crew for a great afternoon.
The best catamaran cruise I have been on. Only 12 people so not crowded, from moment we stepped on board the crew was absolutely incredible, very attentive Plenty to eat and never an empty glass. Icing on the cake was when we saw a whale I would highly recommend this trip
Amazing boat cruise, not crowded whatsoever with only about 12 people on board. I also told them I was vegan beforehand and they prepared me some delicious food so I didn’t miss out. Drinks were constantly topped up. Couldn’t recommend more, such a brilliant day out
If I could give this company 6 stars I would! This, by far, without exception is the best catamaran trip we have been on in Barbados aimed at both family’s and adults (and over the years we have experienced most of them) So good in fact, that we book every week for the month that we are staying in Barbados each year. Gina and her team go above and beyond to make sure everyone has a wonderful pampered experience on board the catamaran. The numbers are always limited to a maximum of 12 and the crew look after you from the minute you board to the minute you leave. The safety and well being of their passengers are a number one priority. Each trip consists of a couple of snorkelling opportunities including spotting rays and turtles as well as the abundance of fish on the shipwrecks. A delicious buffet lunch is then served on the West coast when another opportunity to swim in the calm gentle sea is a must. Throughout the trip you are provided some canapés and unlimited drinks of your choice. If you do nothing else on this island then make sure you do this. You will not be disappointed.
Excellent guidance and support for first time snorkellers. The crew (Chad, Shane and Fabien) were very friendly and attentive. The catamaran is spotlessly clean and there was plenty of food and drink on offer. It was a wonderful experience to see the shipwrecks and the turtles, and of course the wonderful Barbadian sunset. We highly recommend this snorkelling and sunset sailing experience to all.

Calabaza Catamaran Barbados
Being a frequent traveller to Barbados, the one thing I always do is go out on the catamaran trip for the day. On this occasion, I was visiting with a friend and wanted to make the day more special. I found Calabaza after Googling catamaran sailing. After contacting them and reading some of the reviews, decided to book. We were picked up by a lovely driver from out hotel for a private transfer and taken to the boat at Bridgetown where we were welcomed onboard by Gina, Danny & Fabian. After sailing off, we were offered freshly prepared fish cakes and drinks to wash them down, after the usual snorkelling stops a beautiful buffet lunch was served whilst we were anchored right beside Sandy Lane. The staff could not have been more helpful to any of the group which ranged from children to an older lady. Fabian took many, many photographs which were emailed to us that same night along with a selection of recipe's!! The boat was very clean, laid out well and again, the staff very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. I will definitely sail with them again. FIRST CLASS!!!
I had booked a lunch cruise with Calabaza 2 weeks ago. My 2 best friends and I had a Wonderful Day out. Gina, Dany and Andrew were so friendly and never stopped taking care of everyone during the whole trip. All the other boats always have minimum 20 or even 30 or more people for these cruises unless your privatise them. with Calabaza it's 12 maximum and it is very enjoyable. We ended up only 9 instead of 12 and it was just absolutely great, everyone on the boat was very friendly and the atmosphere really fun. We even all went for a few drinks back to our villa afterwards as the day went too fast and we were a bit sad to go our seperate ways so quick. My friends who live on the Island don't even want to try another boat, they will go back as soon as they have more visitors or even just the 2 of them when they have some free time. We already are recommending Calabaza everytime we speak about going out on a boat in Barbados! A truly fantastic experience! Thank you so much to all 3 of you and Good Luck! Maud
A group of us went on a lunch cruise to celebrate a birthday. The crew provided us with a very special experience. Calabaza is a beautiful catamaran. We swam with the turtles, among schools of fish on a sunken wreck, and lazily paddled in the calm beautiful waters of the Caribbean Sea. We were plied with tasty home-made food, and drank from a well stocked open bar. They even picked us all up from our hotel, and safely returned us. It was a memorable cruise, and was very good value. I thoroughly recommend this attraction.
Calabaza is definitely the boat you want to sail on... everything was perfect from the pickup at our hotel to the boarding and the fun ride and crew. we were immediately welcomed on board and offered refreshments while the very competent crew readied the boat for departure. the boat is beautiful and in excellent condition. Dan, the captain, exuded confidence in a very laid back manner which made me very comfortable. the crew of Fabian and Bobby were equally confident and attentive to their responsibilities to the safety of all on board but also to the enjoyment and pleasure of all on board. with only 12 passengers there is plenty of personal attention and space on board. premium driks were readily available along with an unending offering of great hors d'oeuvres. they crew also took lots of pictures, allowing the guests to fully enjoy themselves without being behind a camera. snorkeling and swimming with the turtles was perfect... not sure that they had a unique spot but the small group and personal attention and the friendly nature of the crew as perfect. i could go on and on about how this trip aboard the Calabaza was the highlight of our trip to Barbados... if you are looking for a booze cruise... choose another boat. if you are looking for a very nice relaxing and fun cruise with personal attention and no huge crowd... just reserve your spot on Calabaza and forgo the rest... you will be very pleased... Fabian, congrats on the wedding! thank you to Dan, Fabian and Bobby... thank you all very much for a great time. we will see you again! Steve & Lin in NY
We went on the morning trip a few days ago and have to say that is was a brilliant day out. As soon as we got on the boat refreshments were served... Tea and coffee or beer and rum, whichever you chose! All the crew were great fun and took photos throughout the day which were then emailed to us afterwards. The snacks and lunch were really tasty and the beer/rum punch readily available, though I want to be clear, this was not a typical "booze cruise". The fact that it was a small group of you (12) meant that you got a chance to chat with everyone and when you went snorkelling it was so much calmer. They chose spots to see the turtles and snorkel which were quiet and no other boats there which made the experience all the better. If we're back in Barbados again, we will do this trip again for sure!
My husband and I just got back from a Southern Caribbean cruise with a stop in Barbados. We are so tired of doing the ship's rushed shore excursions. I searched TripAdvisor and came up with Calabaza Sailing Cruises in Barbados. DO IT. Don't waste your time on anything else if you are looking for a day on and in the water. From the moment we arrived, we were pampered by the crew. Drinks were non-stop, served in real glassware, and the rum punch was unlike any I've ever had. Coffee and banana bread waited for us as we boarded, too. Our first stop was snorkeling with the sea turtles. Amazing! They had all the necessary equipment, from masks, snorkels, fins (we didn't wear them around the sea turtles, but did later over the shipwreck), snorkel vests, and swim noodles. Snorkeling at the shipwreck was crazy! They bring a bag of fish food along and suddenly you are surrounded by hundreds of fish! Later we anchored just off sore, where they served lunch - first class all the way and delicious, complete with dessert served to you by the crew. Swimming off the boat was an option, but it was so relaxing just to be there, we simply enjoyed our time on the catamaran. The only issue was that it had to end! When we got home, they send us a link to over 400 photos taken that day, onboard, and underwater. They are ours to go through and remember the wonderful day! Great job, guys! We will definitely be back onboard the next time we are in Barbados.
