Nordfjordeid is a cruise port and village in western Norway (Eid in Sogn og Fjordane county, Eid municipality) with a population of around 3,000. The port is located at Eidsfjorden's end (fjord part of Nordfjorden) and west of Hornindalsvatnet (lake). The closest villages are Starheim (12 km / 8 mi) to the west, Mogrenda (5 km / 3 mi) to the east, and Lote (7 km /4 mi) to the southeast.

The cruise port is at approx 9 hours drive distance from Oslo (Norway's capital city), ~5 hours from Bergen , and ~3 hours from Alesund . Nordfjordeid is Eid municipality's administrative center and commercial hub, with the main/largest industries being shopping and tourism. E39 highway (connecting Bergen with Alesund) passes nearby. National Road 15 (linking Maloy with Otta) passes through Nordfjordeid.

The best-known among the many tourist attractions are Geirangerfjord (15-km / 9 mi-long branch off Sunnylvsfjorden/Storfjorden), Briksdalen (glacier), Harpefossen (ski resort), popular outdoor activities (mainly hiking).

Kan ik een drankenpakket bijboeken?

Dan zit er vaak het AIDA Comfort Deluxe drankenpakket (vanaf 25 jaar) en Kids & Teens Comfort drankenpakket (2-24 jaar) inbegrepen ! Wanneer het drankenpakket nog niet direct inclusief zit, kun je deze altijd later nog bijboeken ( na het maken van een boeking met AIDA ) via je persoonlijk AIDA omgeving of vaak op de eerste dag aan boord.

De voertaal aan boord van AIDA Cruises is voornamelijk Duits . Er is op de meeste schepen ook bemanning aanwezig welke Engels spreken. 

Waar boek ik mijn excursies?

De rederij biedt verschillende begeleide excursies aan wal aan van cultureel , ontspannend , avontuurlijk tot aan culinair . Wanneer je de cruise definitief geboekt hebt, krijg je een boekingsnummer waarmee je online kunt inloggen om je excursies vooraf bij te boeken. Vaak is dit mogelijk tot 3 dagen voor vertrek of aan boord van het schip. Heb je een excursie gezien die je echt niet wilt missen? Dan is het raadzaam om de gewenste excursies vooraf te boeken om teleurstellingen te voorkomen. 

Ben ik verplicht om excursies te boeken via de rederij?

Nee, dit is niet verplicht. Je kunt natuurlijk ook op eigen gelegenheid van boord om de diverse havens te verkennen. Het voordeel van een excursie welke door de rederij georganiseerd wordt, is dat de rederij verantwoordelijkheid draagt tijdens de excursie en zorgt ervoor dat je optijd weer terug bent op het schip. Indien je op eigen gelegenheid van boord gaat en te laat terug komt, dan wacht het schip niet op je.

Zeedagen zijn het ideale moment om het schip te ontdekken! Het is aan jou wat je op deze dag wilt ondernemen, of even helemaal niets! Heerlijk relaxen in de spa of aan het zwembad, volg een yogales of kookworkshop of neem deel aan groepsactiviteiten zoals basketballen of volleyballen.

Zijn er rookruimtes aan boord?

Het is in de meeste ruimtes aan boord, o.a. de hutten, showrooms en binnenruimtes niet toegestaan om te roken. Het is ook niet toegestaan om te roken op je balkon. Aan boord zijn enkele aangewezen locaties aanwezig waar het wel is toegestaan.

Bij AIDA Cruises wordt aan boord gebruik gemaakt van Euro's . Wanneer je bent ingecheckt open je een boordrekening dat gekoppelt staat aan je credticard (Visa, MasterCard of American Express). Wij raden het altijd aan om te reizen met een CreditCard, zodat je vooraf ook geen contant geld mee hoeft te nemen!

Welke betalingsmogelijkheden zijn er aan boord?

Het is mogelijk om met CreditCard (Visa, MasterCard, American Express en Discover) te betalen aan boord. Je CreditCard wordt gekoppeld aan de boordrekening en aan het einde van de cruise ontvang je een eindoverzicht met het bedrag dat uiteindelijk van je CreditCard wordt afgeschreven. Het is niet mogelijk om in bijvoorbeeld de bars, spa en winkels contant te betalen.

Voor inwoners van Nederland betekent het dat je heel ontspannen vanuit Nederland kan vertrekken. Er zijn een aantal reizen die uit Kopenhagen vertrekken. Gelukkig is deze stad goed bereikbaar met trein, auto of vliegtuig.

Hoe kies ik de beste cruise voor mij?

Welke cruise je het beste kan maken is afhankelijk van heel wat factoren. Het is goed om jezelf een aantal vragen te stellen voor je een cruise kiest.

• Reisdoel : Welke bestemmingen en bezienswaardigheden wil ik graag zien of bezoeken?
• Tijd : Hoeveel dagen wil en kan ik weg?
• Budget : Hoeveel mag de reis maximaal kosten?
• Haven van vertrek : Vanaf welke plek wil je vertrekken? Wil je vertrekken uit Nederland of mag het ook buiten Nederland zijn?
• Datum : in welke precieze periode wil je een cruise maken?

Uiteraard zijn er meer vragen te stellen maar deze drie vragen sturen je al tot een kleinere keuze van beschikbare cruises.

Welke pakketten.

Holland America Line biedt niet op voorhand reizen aan die volledig all inclusive zijn. Belangrijk bij het boeken van een cruise vakantie is wat nu wel of niet inbegrepen is. Het meest makkelijke is natuur om een all inclusive reis te boeken. Dat moet je goed afwegen. Uiteraard is dit dus kostbaarder en zou je kunnen betalen voor iets waar je geen gebruik van maakt. Bij Holland America Line krijg je bij het boeken de keuze uit een aantal pakketten. Deze zijn afhankelijk van de reis en de mogelijkheden op de verschillende cruiseschepen. De twee belangrijkste pakketten voor op het schip zijn een WiFi pakket en het drankenpakket. Wanneer je geen alcoholische dranken nuttigt is nadenken over een pakket geen meerwaarde. Ze in ieder geval in verschillende varianten te boeken.

Wat is de beste tijd voor een cruise naar Noorwegen?

De meeste cruiseschepen varen in de maanden april t/m oktober op Noorwegen. Welke tijd voor u het beste is hangt af van uw wensen? In de april en mei is de temperatuur lager maar zijn de bergtoppen vaak nog wel met sneeuw bedekt. Wanneer de het weer en de temperatuur belangrijk is zijn de maanden juni, juli en augustus het best. September en oktober zijn dan uiteraard weer kouder.

Wat is inclusief bij Holland America Line?

Dat is een goede vraag. De cruisevakanties van Holland America Line zijn in verschillende varianten te boeken. Wanneer je een cruise boekt zijn in principe alle basisfaciliteiten beschikbaar tijdens je vakantie. Daarnaast zijn verschillende pakketten te boeken. Zo zijn de maaltijden inbegrepen maar zijn er ook restaurants waar je een toeslag voor betaald. Vrijwel alle entertainment is inbegrepen. De spa en het casino zijn daarentegen weer toegankelijk na een toeslag. Dit geldt ook van de drank, wifi en landexcursies. Deze zijn in verschillende vormen extra bij te boeken. Wanneer je gaat boeken zal je zien dat bij de verschillende hutten automatisch ook bepaalde pakketten toegevoegd zijn. Hoe duurder de hut hoe meer pakketten er doorgaans automatisch aan toegevoegd zijn. Bij veel hutten is het signature drankenpakket opgenomen. Voor de meeste mensen is dit een zeer royale toevoeging aan de reis.

Aanbiedingen

Het is altijd goed om op aanbiedingen te letten. Regelmatig zijn er acties waarbij je voor dezelfde prijs een hut upgrade kan krijgen of een aanvullend pakket. Het gebruik maken van een aanbieding kan behoorlijk in de prijs schelen.

Cruiseschepen

Holland America Line heeft 11 schepen maar vaart doorgaans met 3 verschillende schepen op Noord-Europa en Noorwegen. Het zou zomaar kunnen dat je een voorkeur hebt voor het maken van een reis met een specifiek schip. De MS Rotterdam gaat door als stijlvol schip. De MS Nieuw Statendam is modieus ingericht en geeft een modernere beleving. De bemanning bestaat doorgaans uit veel Nederlanders. Dat geeft voor veel reizigers de doorslag om met Holland America Line naar Noorwegen te reizen. 

MS Rotterdam

De MS Rotterdam is een iconisch cruiseschip dat sinds 2008 in de vaart is. Het opereert wereldwijd en biedt passagiers een luxe en onvergetelijke ervaring. Met ruime binnendekken en comfortabele suites en passagiershutten is het de perfecte manier om te ontspannen en de wereld te verkennen. Met een breed scala aan activiteiten en entertainment aan boord is er voor elk wat wils. Er is een theaterpodium, een vijfsterrenrestaurant, een zwembadcomplex met uitzicht op de oceaan, een spa en een fitnesscentrum, een casino, een belastingvrije winkel en nog veel meer. Gasten van MS Rotterdam kunnen ook profiteren van de ruime buitendekken of deelnemen aan excursies aan wal in geselecteerde aanloophavens om de lokale cultuur te proeven terwijl ze ver van huis reizen.
