Malam Jabba Ski Resort

The Malam Jabba Ski Resort is in the Hindu Kush mountain range and has all that a sportsperson would like to climb or travel at the elevation of 2,804 meters (9,199 ft) for perfect winter sports. The beautiful Malam Jabba Ski Resort is nearly 48 Km (29 miles) to the east of Saidu Sharif Swat and about 275 km (170 miles) to the northwest of Islamabad. The Ski Resort has two 800-meter ski runs, an Ice skating rink, and adequate accommodation facilities for visitors.

Right in the backyard of the Malam Jabba Ski Resort, tourists also enjoy ice skating, sledging, ice hockey, bandy, snowboarding, speed skating, and curling, which you might consider when you visit swat. All health and safety gears and the equipment that is necessary for playing skiing and other winter sports are available there at a minimum price.

Tourists can bring their own skis, ski boots, ski bindings, ski poles, ski wear, ski helmets, and snowboard and ski goggles, or they can just rent them there and focus on their game and tour.

Malam Jabba To Kalam by Road

The easiest way to travel from Malam Jabba to Kalam is through the N95 route. The total distance from Malam Jabba to Kalam is 76 miles (122km) which can be travelled in just over an hour on a good day.

On Malam Jabba road, carry on travelling downhills (westbound) towards Manglor in the mainland for approximately 22 miles (35km). At the Manglor junction, take a right turn to the N95 road (northbound). Travel through Charbagh, Khwazakhela, Madyan and then Bahrain for approximately 54 miles (87km) to reach Kalam.

Its beauty, height, and location Heavenly looking. In my opinion, This place is the most beautiful as compare to other Places ok Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. I visited this place in Sep so there was no Snowfall. But enjoyed a great view of surrounding mountains.

The best place to come and skiing. It’s the best to place to visit here. You will feel the V real beauty of Malam Jabba here. The best time to come here is ager march and April in winter mostly it is covered Allah with snow and you can enjoy the unlimited snow here in December January and February.

Pakistan is a country with diversity in its landscapes, culture, and social factors. There are many places for tourist attraction and Malam Jabba ski resort is one of them. Chair lift, skiing, and zip rope are the attractions. The best time to visit is in the winter season. When you can enjoy skiing and other snow sports activities.

This excellent place is rated much more beautiful than Murree. Easily accessible by road. Gen public is cooperative. Commodities are reasonable.

An amazing place with overloaded natural beauty. The cable car, walking track, and skiing track (in winters) are the key features. If you can get to stay in the military messes which are situated at the most prominent locations, you will enjoy it a lot. The destination is not much far from the main city Mingora. However, due to improper road, it takes around 2 hours to reach there.

Much close to Mangora and in addition to few footsteps away from the recently built PC hotel. Chairlift, Skiing, and Zipline are adventure sports being offered with the serene natural beauty of the area.

A lifetime experience I had. A lot of fun, ice tubing, skiing, and many more. You can visit Malam Jabba from March to Dec but perfect if you come in Dec after the first snowfall of the season.

I stayed in Pearl Continental which is a newly constructed building in Jan 2020. It’s slightly operational but not yet completed.

Both adults and kids can do ice sports as I mentioned above. I do not remember the cost of the ticket for all the games but I did ice skiing and I paid around two thousand rupees for one piece of equipment for 1 hour, which is very good. If you are more than one adult or if you have more than one kid, you can buy one piece of equipment for adults,s and the rest of the adults can use the same. Just the time limit you have to follow. The same goes for the kid’s equipment.

Other than ice sports there is a chair lift and zipline that adds to the taste. The ticket price is 2500 inclusive of both. However, you can buy a separate ticket for the chair lift or zipline. I think the ticket price for the chair lift was 600 rupees.

Worth every moment spent in that place. People are more than helpful. In the offseason, there is Rs.100/each Entry only, Rs.600/each for Entry+Chairlift ride only, Rs.1400/each for Entry+Zip line ride only, Rs.2000/each for the full package.

In the season they charge Rs.2500/each for the full package.

Note: You can buy any 7 tickets for the price of 6. The chairlift starts at 2 PM every day. Tickets are nonrefundable.

We went there on January 9th, 2021. It was -6° to -8° or more I am not sure but was hell cold. It’s a really good place offering a chairlift, skiing, tube, and zip line. Beautiful scenic views were breathtaking. They have clean washrooms there and that too was good in numbers. To my surprise, there was hot water available in the sink taps as well. PC was giving a mesmerizing view at night. They charged 800 rupees for the chairlift and 300 for entry and adding skiing and the tube it was around 1250 per head after bargaining. Initially, he was telling 1700 per head. Unfortunately, the zip line was closed due to weather conditions.

The resort, chairlift, zipline, and view are wonderful. Travel time to a fun spot is too much although a colorful scenic view on the way in fall is amusing.

Best hill station for skiing and chairlift. You can also have a snow tube during snow season and of course how can I forget about zipline. Small cafes are there to offer you tea and snacks. Policemen are always present there to assist the tourists.

There is just one hotel over there offering rooms but that’s quite expensive. You won’t have options for the eateries. So plan accordingly and since the place is at the peak of the mountain so I would suggest to ger back to your hotel before sunset. The roads get very slippery during snowfall.

Heaven on earth. A mesmerizing place and a must-visit place when you go to swat. Chair lifts are operational and present the best view when the place is covered with snow. It is a long drive from the city up to the hilly area of Malam Jabba. If you have a 4×4 car or a car with a good engine you can go easily. Plz, take some extra shoes with you because of the dirt and mud caused by the snow beside the road. Bring cloth for cleaning and extra pair of socks and shoes.

Overall it is a family-friendly place, a secure place where the Pak army is present every time. You can enjoy boiled eggs and tea once you go to the top of the chair lifts. A great place overall and a must-visit.

Beautiful place with some awesome views and sceneries. Ski resort where international and national skiing events held every year. Hotels and staff services are very good. Nice family place. It has a chair lift, children’s parks, ski resort.

This ski resort is a real wow place. The view is great. You can enjoy a chair lift and zip lining. also available. Expensive place to have meal or snacks. So better to be there only for activities (chair lift, and zip line). One caution is about young kids. Temp is too i.e below freezing point in the month of March. So toddlers can’t bear this. Better not to be there with toddlers or must have enough warm clothes to cater that cold weather.

If u want to have real fun of the Swat tour plz reach there at 10 AM bcoz of a huge crowd and long queues to get tickets. U can get long shoes on rent if u don’t have them.

Great experience with the chairlift and zip line. Would highly recommend it. The only feedback is that the stairs leading to the zip line need some work as they’re strangely built with loose stones and quite a walk from the top.

This is one of the basic reasons to visit Malam Jabba in any season. In summer or autumn, you may use chair lift charges Rs 600 for round trip and if you use Zipline in return from peak to PC roof it is Rs 2000 (Nov. 2020 rates). You may also enjoy tracking by feet.

It was an awesome place to visit. Especially exciting for the kids. Full of adventure and really peaceful place. It has an exciting zip line which is the longest zip line in the whole of Asia. Chair lifts are also really exciting showing the birds-eye view of the whole place. The tracks which lead to the jungle gives you a feel of gloomy dark forests. The ski track is the major highlight of this place. Best for winter sports lovers. Must visit the place. Highly recommend.

Beautiful place to visit in swat valley every season. Newly inaugurated Perl Continental hotel with newly installed chair lift and zip line are amazing recreational and adventurous activities for this area on top of skiing during the winter season. Road to Malam Jabba is well constructed now and every kind of car can easily reach the top. Many hotels have been built on top, some are under construction. This is a highly recommended place for families in swat valley which is full of fun and serenity.

It’s a good place to visit in winter, the attraction is a chair lift. Cleanliness is a major issue there which is common in all across areas of SWAT as well. The usual Temp in DEC is around -10.

Enjoyed it there although the prices were seriously high. You need to have a budget of 3-5k per person to get 3-4 rides (jet ski, chair lift, etc) there. Although the view was breathtaking and maybe that’s why I’m inclined to give it a full five stars.

It’s a must-go place for people who want to experience their adrenaline rush by enjoying snow sport activities. I have tried zipline, chairlift, skiing, and tube activities. And undoubtedly, I had the most amazing and amusing time of my life.

One of the best attractions in Swat. Packed with fun air-lifts & also boasts a zip line. The weather is always nice and plenty of options for food. Recommended to be visited sometime in April or May so that there’s enough ice. Air-lift costs Rs.600/seat and zipline is Rs. 2500/person and entrance also costs Rs. 100/person.

One aspect that truly impressed me was the attention to detail. It was an awesome experience with k2climbers. Both Bilal and Javed bhai were amazing in managing the trip. Islamabad – Scenic Swat Valley teemed with tourists and winter sports lovers who enjoyed skiing galas during the recent ‘Malam Jabba Snow Festival.’ Over 30 national and international players participated in competitions that included slalom, giant slalom, and free downhill races. The four-day skiing gala and snow festival—jointly organized by the Pakistan Army, district administration, and Samson group of companies—concluded at a good end. The Swat Deputy Commissioner team won the event held at the 9,000 ft high ski slope in Malam Jabba; meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority team took second place, followed closely by the Pakistan Police team taking third position.

If you are coming from Islamabad, it’s about 173 miles, or a 4-hour drive, to reach here. You can get Malam Jabba from Islamabad by driving M1, N95, and M16. In addition, these destinations can be reached by air because flights between Islamabad and Saidu Sharif Airport are offered. Despite the short distance between Sawat and Malam Jabba, the drive can take an hour and a half.

Continue on AH1/M-1 and M-16 for 1 hour 56 minutes (171 km) to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Travel along Bahrain Rd/N-95 to Malam Jabba Rd in Malam Jabba in 2 hr 23 min (84.3 km).

You can fly into Saidu Sharif Airport to reach Malam Jabba. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) currently operates two weekly flights between Islamabad and Saidu Sharif Airport (Monday and Friday).

A one-hour, 30-minute drive within Swat Valley will take you from the airport to Malam Jabba Ski Resort, which is approximately 50km (31 miles) away. Follow Airport Rd – 7 minutes (2.9 km). Then proceed via the Mingora Fizagat Bypass to Bahrain Rd/N-95 in Mingora – 18 minutes (7.6 km). Follow Malam Jabba Rd for 1 hour 15 minutes (41.1 km). Continue straight to stay on Malam Jabba Rd – 6 minutes (1.6 km). The destination will be on the right.

Continuing the journey from Mangalore beyond Jehanabad, Malam Jabba is a beautiful resort situated at an altitude of 9000 feet above sea level, 50 km from Mandurah. Two Buddhist stupas and 6 monasteries in the area testify to its history of more than 2000 years. Due to its high altitude and heavy snowfall, this area is known for its beauty and uniqueness. This place is very ideal for ice sports especially ice skating. Ice sports competitions were also held every year. Accordingly, PTDC built a luxury hotel here and a chair lift was also installed with the help of Austria. A few years ago these two points disappeared. Since 2011, ice sports competitions have been restarted. All the way from Mingora to Malam Jabba will force you to stop again and again. On the way, Restaurants and hotels for accommodation will be found near the top.

Malam Jabba - A Beauty That Smiles Back

Malam Jabba is a hill station in the Hindu Kush mountain range about 40 kilometers from Saidu Sharif in the Swat Valley, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It is 314 kilometers from Islamabad and is located at an altitude of 7,000 feet [8,800 m]. It had been originally a skiing resort created by Pakistan Tourism and Development Corporation but was demolished some years ago. However, it is still a ski resort, and there are many other hotels in the area where one can stay.

In 2014, Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) signed a MoU agreement with Samson Group of Companies to establish a resort. There are rollers and ice skating rinks in the mountains of Malam Jabba. So if a person does not want to ski, they can always be busy with other activities. There are two Trekking trails located and is the finest ski resort in the country.

A perfect spot for your winter vacations

Every year a three day event, the winter festival is organized by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Foundation. It features a wide range of winter sports. These include skiing, speed skating, ice hockey, sledding, tobogganing, archery, curling, snow-tubing, music show, food, display of handicrafts and others.

Malam Jabba Two trekking trails

There are two trekking trails at that offer scenic views . The first passes through the Ghorband Valley and Shangla Top and begins about 18 miles [18 km] from where the resort was. The other route passes through the Sabonev Valley and is ten miles [17 km] from where the resort was.

Finest ski resort of the country

Malam jabba is home to Pakistan’s most beautiful ski resort, the Malam Jabba Ski Resort. Currently owned by Samsonons Group, the recreation area covers an area of 270 hectares and has an 800-meter slope with a maximum slope of 2804 m (9200 ft) above sea level. The resort faced its own challenges when it was destroyed by anti-government protesters during the Swat military coup. But now that things have been sorted out and Swat is free and safe again, the place of restoration has been restored to its former glory.

 The road to Malam Jabba is 80% complete. The first 10-15 miles of road are completely ready. This part of the road is paved, fitted with cat eyes, safety blocks, display paint, and everything that will never stop you from getting a good trip.

Swat Valley is rich in archaeological sites, and significant relics from prehistoric civilizations that once ruled these lands. Some of them can also be found in Malam Jabba. The resort has six Buddhist stupas and six monasteries located in the mighty 2000-year-old state.
