'Time traveller' from 2671 warns of 2024 disasters including 'Pandora's Box' opening

I n this chilling video , a self-proclaimed "time traveller", who goes by the handle @radianttimetraveller on TikTok, says he's back from the year 2671 with a warning of upcoming disasters. Eno Alaric has more than 826,000 TikTok followers who listen to his predictions about potential calamities that could hit our planet.

In earlier posts, Alaric warned followers about twin planets crashing into Earth, extra-terrestrial visitors, and the possible start of World War 3. This time, he spoke about strange and frightening events that he claims are coming up. These include an earthquake and a "Pandora's Box" opening a path to another universe.

But first, he warns of an unprecedented destructive tornado, the likes of which we have never seen before - a force six. He predicts it'll strike Houston, Texas , causing extensive damage to humanity.

If you can't see the post below, click here .

He begins his prediction saying: "Attention, yes I am a real time traveller, these are major events to come in the rest of 2024." Then he dives into the specifics, starting with: "Part 1. February 17: The first ever f6 tornado occurs, hitting Houston, Texas. It destroys almost the entire city, making it the worst tornado in history of mankind."

"March 28: An ancient artifact is found, when touched, it sends you to another universe. It's called 'Pandora's Box', the universes can be very similar, or completely different, like people being dorito shaped. April 2: A 9.8 magnitude earthquake, called Big John, occurs on the San Andreas fault. Soon after this, a 750ft high tsunami hits the California coastline, many large cities are in ruins, including San Francisco ."

"May 15: An alien lands on Earth known as 'The Champion', he is here to take 10000 people to another habitable planet. He was here once before and has returned to try to save us from The 47, they will be chosen randomly."

These prophecies have gained enormous popularity with over 39,000 likes and 2,237 comments. Some of these mention his prediction about a hurricane hitting Houston. One person wrote: "I live in Houston and do not approve of this message," while others said: "I don't think you have any idea of how big Houston really is."

However, there have also been numerous skeptics. One comment was: "Please make a video of all your predictions that have come to pass" and another remarked "They only share bad things. Why not share some positive." Yet another added: "How come no time traveller can ever share the winning lottery numbers?"

An infamous Ukrainian time-traveller story has finally been explained

An infamous Ukrainian time-traveller story has finally been explained

If there’s one thing we like on indy100 , it’s a good time traveller story.

There’s been an influx of people on TikTok claiming to be from the future over recent times, but nothing will come close to the story of Sergei Ponomarenko for sheer weirdness.

In one of the most infamous cases of its kind, the story centers around a man who turned up in Kyiv, Ukraine back in 2006 claiming to be from years in the past.

He told authorities that he was born in 1932. He looked the part, carrying an old-fashioned camera and a dated outfit.

Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter

The most compelling thing was that he held a Soviet document from the 1950s, which he claimed showed he was the age of 25.

@bethany.gets.weird Time Traveler Sergei Ponomarenko #timetravel #ufo #conspiracy #unexplained

Ponomarenko then proceeded to show people pictures that he claimed he’d taken on his camera in Kyiv. After they’d been developed, authorities found that the images did indeed show Kyiv in the 50s, and they also showed him with an unnamed woman – as well as an image that Ponomarenko claimed showed a UFO.

The bizarre story took another turn when authorities looked back into the records and found a man by the same name who went missing in 1958. Strangely, they tracked down the man’s girlfriend who by that time was in her 70s. It turns out that the girlfriend was the woman in the photographs.

She then told authorities that Ponomarenko had disappeared for two years and then reappeared in the 50s. Not only that, but she then received a photograph showing him as an older man, with the picture purporting to have been taken in Kyiv in 2050.

time traveller video

It’s all kinds of weird, but the mystery might finally have been solved all these years later.

YouTuber Joe Scott has delved back into the case, and come up with an explanation that might put the whole incident to bed.

As Joe finds, the picture of Ponomarenko purportedly from 2050 Kyiv has been “cloned” and possibly includes the Empire State Building.

More compellingly, Joe also found that the photos were taken from the Ukrainian TV show Aliens . The show discusses the possibility of extraterrestrial life and is similar to the type of show you would see on The History Channel but according to Scott has a number of inaccuracies.

It was fun while it lasted, but it looks like the ‘time traveller’ has been busted.

Israel's war cabinet, chaired by Benjamin Netanyahu, meets in Tel Aviv to discuss the drone attack launched by Iran.

Iran missile and drone attack on Israel – what we know so far

Israel’s military has reported minor damage after Iran launched dozens of drones and missiles towards it late on Saturday

  • Iran attack on Israel – live updates
  • Full report: Iran launches drones and cruise missiles against Israel

Iran launched hundreds of drones as well as cruise missiles towards Israel , in the Islamic Republic’s first ever direct attack on the Jewish state, in response to the 1 April strike on an Iranian diplomatic building in the Syrian capital, Damascus, which killed a senior figure in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards and eight other officers.

Benny Gantz, a member of the war cabinet, said that Israel will exact a price from Iran in response to its mass missile and drone attack when the time is right. His comments came ahead of a war cabinet meeting alongside Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and the country’s defence minister, Yoav Gallant.

Tehran has warned it will strike again with greater force if Israel or the US retaliate for the Iranian strike on Israel by more 300 drones and missiles on Saturday night. The air raids , the Islamic Republic’s first ever direct attack on the Israeli state, brought a years-long shadow war into the open and threatened to draw the region into a broader conflagration as Israel said it was considering its response.

However, the attack, mostly launched from inside Iran, caused only modest damage in Israel as most were shot down with the help of the US, Britain and Jordan. An air force base in southern Israel was hit, but continued to operate as normal and a seven-year-old child was seriously hurt by shrapnel. There were no other reports of serious damage. Israeli military spokesperson Rear Adm Daniel Hagari said that 99% of the launches had been intercepted.

Most of the Iranian drones flying over Syria’s airspace during Tehran’s strikes overnight were downed by Israeli and US jets before reaching their targets in Israel, two western intelligence sources told Reuters .

The UN security council will hold an emergency meeting on Sunday at the request of Israel’s ambassador to the UN, the council’s president said in a statement.

Iran informed Turkey in advance of its planned operation against Israel, a Turkish diplomatic source has told Reuters . The source also said that the US conveyed to Iran via Ankara that its operation must be “within certain limits”. These reports come after Iran’s foreign minister, Hossein Amirabdollahian , said in a meeting with foreign ambassadors in Tehran that Iran had informed the US that its attacks against Israel will be “limited” and for self-defence only.

John Kirby, the White House’s top national security spokesperson, told ABC’s This Week programme on Sunday that the US will continue to help Israel defend itself, but does not want war with Iran. “We don’t seek escalated tensions in the region. We don’t seek a wider conflict,” Kirby said. News outlet Axios reported that Joe Biden , the US president, had told Netanyahu that he would oppose an Israeli counterattack against Iran and that the prime minister should “take the win”.

UK Royal Air Force fighter jets and refuelling aircraft were also involved in Israel’s defence, taking off from bases in Cyprus. Their role, according to the UK Ministry of Defence, was to fill in for the US air force in the sorties against Islamic State normally carried out over Iraq and north-eastern Syria, but also to intercept Iranian drones if they came into the UK area of operations.

World leaders have condemned Iran’s attack, with regional powers including Saudi Arabia and Egypt calling for restraint. The UN secretary general, António Guterres, said: “I am deeply alarmed about the very real danger of a devastating region-wide escalation. I urge all parties to exercise maximum restraint to avoid any action that could lead to major military confrontations on multiple fronts in the Middle East.”

Explosions seen over Israel and West Bank after Iran launches drones and missiles – video

Jordan’s prime minister, Bisher Khasawneh , warned that any escalation in the region would lead to “dangerous paths”, joining a chorus of condemnation from world leaders to the attack. Other countries including the UK, Spain, the US, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and China, have called for restraint amid fears of a regional escalation of conflict across the Middle East. Iran’s foreign ministry has summoned the ambassadors of the UK , France , and Germany to question what it referred to as their “irresponsible stance” regarding Tehran’s retaliatory strikes on Israel, the semi-official Iranian Labour news agency reported .

Major airlines across the Middle East, including Emirates Airlines and Qatar Airways , announced they would resume some of their operations in the region after cancelling or rerouting some flights in response to Iran’s attack on Israel. Israel said it had reopened its airspace as of 7:30am local time on Sunday morning, with Beirut airport also reopening this morning. Several Iranian airports, including Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International, however, have cancelled flights until Monday.

AlUla Old Town: A living time capsule

After 800 years, AlUla Old Town was abandoned in the 1980s, leaving a fascinating time capsule for historians and tourists to explore.

AlUla Old Town is one of those special places where the walls seem to speak: the presence of past peoples is so deeply embedded into the fabric of this ancient settlement that its history feels palpable to any who explore its maze of winding mudbrick alleys. Every stone, every building, every street has a story to tell and at every turn there is something to transport you back in time: it’s as if a thousand years of history just left the room.

time traveller video

No-one is sure when people first settled the site that grew into AlUla Old Town. The twelfth-century settlement we see today was built on an archaeological tell, an elevated area suggesting previous occupation; stone blocks built into the walls of some houses carry inscriptions dating back to the first millennium BCE and were probably recycled from the ruins of earlier Dadanite period buildings. Indeed, given its location near ancient trade routes and at the narrowest point of the lush AlUla Valley where fertile soils and accessible water make for good farming, the area may have been occupied for millennia. What is certain is that after 1200CE, Old Town emerged as a major center for travel and trade and was continuously occupied until the 1980s when the last residents moved to a new purpose-built city nearby.

Seen from above, AlUla Old Town seems tiny, squeezed against the valley’s sheer sandstone cliffs with great waves of green date palms lapping at its perimeter. AlUla embraced irrigated agriculture during the first millennium BCE, and alongside Old Town’s many wells there is also evidence of qanats. These gravity-fed underground irrigation channels are a testament to ancient ingenuity and helped keep Old Town’s fields productive, enabling its population to grow. And grow it did. Almost organically, houses were built onto houses, their outermost walls consciously connected to form a defensive fortification that eventually enclosed more than 900 buildings across 150 acres of urban development.

time traveller video

Passing through one of its defensive gates and plunging into the town itself you are immediately immersed in a labyrinth of narrow alleyways formed haphazardly by the walls of the densely packed mudbrick homes. Typically, these houses were built on two levels: downstairs were the majlis, a living room where guests were entertained, while upstairs were the kitchen and bedrooms. Livestock, such as goats, were kept beneath the stairs. About a quarter of Old Town’s homes also include an unusual floating feature—a Tayara. Literally translated as ‘airplane’, these were additional rooms built onto the upper sides of other houses and accessed by covered aerial passageways.

time traveller video

Stepping out into the streets, you can clearly see the layers of history where buildings have been built out of or into each other as the town regenerated itself over the centuries. Following its twisting passageways, you inevitably arrive at one of Old Town’s market squares, each perhaps selling a different type of goods or catering to a different clientele. These must have been bustling, noisy, and colorful places packed with traders, travelers, pilgrims, and residents buying local produce and possibly more exotic luxuries. Although the golden age of AlUla’s incense route had faded before the first millennium CE, Old Town remained an important hub for international trade. Outside its walls, along the western road, foreigners would gather in an outdoor market to trade in expensive spices and incense including the coveted frankincense from southern Arabia.

But for hundreds of years, what brought most outsiders to Old Town was pilgrimage. Muslims from the west and north would pass through Old Town on their way to Makkah and Madinah, the town becoming the main stopping point on the pilgrim route through AlUla. For many Muslims, Old Town already held a powerful religious attraction: the Masjid Al-Itham or Mosque of Bones. In the sixth century, the Prophet Muhammed passed through the valley on his way to battle. Stopping to pray, he found no suitable stones to mark the qibla and so he used bones instead. To commemorate this event, the locals built the Masjid Al-Itham on the spot where Muhammed had prayed, and the restored mosque still stands in what became the southeast corner of Old Town.

Not far away is another of Old Town’s unique historical treasures—the Tantora sundial. Nobody is sure when the sundial was built, an obelisk atop an otherwise unremarkable wall that casts a shadow onto the ground. But for hundreds of years, residents and visitors flocked to this small square to celebrate its marking the passage of the seasons, and especially the start of the winter growing season. Local farmers also depended on the movement of its shadow to designate their allocation of water from springs and wells, the clear timings helping to prevent arguments. Today, it is still a site of celebration with the Tantora Winter Festival now a major cultural attraction featuring concerts, plays, sports, and feasting.

time traveller video

Such spectacles have long been watched over by Old Town’s towering tenth-century stronghold, the AlUla Fort. The 150-foot outcrop on which it was built commands panoramic views across the valley, so it was probably used as a lookout since the area was first settled. Indeed, the stronghold was once called Musa Bin Nusayr Fort after an acclaimed sixth-century general who was said to have stayed there, hinting at an even earlier fortification. But around the tenth century, the outcrop was reinforced with the impressive stone walls seen today, enclosing a sizeable area complete with its own well and dominating the town that emerged around it. It remains the oldest building found in Old Town—so far.

time traveller video

Because today, Old Town is undergoing extensive historical study and sympathetic restoration. The south end of the site has been carefully restored by conservationists with the eco-lodge Dar Tantora Hotel offering luxurious comforts to visitors immersing themselves in the heart of old town. Revitalized as an award-winning cultural hub with local shops and eateries, its whispering walls are being encouraged to share their tales with archaeologists and historians who are peeling back the layers of its past to better understand AlUla and the people who lived here. Like the nearby heritage sites of Dadan and Hegra, AlUla Old Town has much to explore and even more to yet reveal.

In today’s dynamic airline landscape, where competition is fierce, margins slim and consumer choice abundant, airlines must prioritize the end-to-end traveler experience to not only survive but thrive.

When Sabre set out to develop our strategy to enable industry transformation and greater traveler-centricity, we started by asking our airline partners what they needed to better meet the needs of travelers in a modern airline retailing world.

Listening to the needs of our airline partners – both FSCs and LCCs – our strategy became clear. Build a retail travel marketplace that enables airlines to :

  • Provide more CHOICE for travelers resulting in diversified revenue
  • Apply INTELLIGENCE for greater relevance and conversion
  • Optimize the traveler experience by delivering greater EASE of service

These three principles that underpin our strategy – choice, intelligence and ease – emerged from our countless workshops, meetings and conversations with airline executives.

time traveller video

The ability to sell a broader range of products and services – and to control where and how these offerings are retailed – is fundamental to the way most airlines wish to conduct business in the future. An offer and order model will enable airlines to retail their full range of air products and services both directly and indirectly.

In the open retail environment that the industry is now entering, airlines have the ability to evolve beyond the traditional ‘air + air ancillary’ product model and diversify the range of products and services they sell. This will create new revenue streams, while ensuring customers are presented with a broader range of choices.

Intelligence

It’s undoubtedly a good thing that airlines will have the ability to offer more choices to travelers. But in a world where choice abounds, it’s critical to ensure that travel shoppers are not overwhelmed by options. The choices (offers) presented must be relevant, personalized and contextualized to successfully convert into orders. While optimization of individual products is available today, the near future lies in optimizing a multi-product bundle , thus offering competitively priced one-stop shopping for travelers.

For the most advanced capabilities in this space, Sabre looked to the intersection of science and technology – more specifically Google’s best-of-breed AI/ML and experimentation model. This class-defining technology algorithmically ensures that only the most ‘intelligent’ offers are created and presented to consumers, reducing decision fatigue and optimizing the likelihood of turning an offer into revenue for the airline.

Bringing together Sabre’s deep industry expertise, with Google Cloud’s state-of-the-art AI technology and advanced machine learning capabilities, will enable airlines to take retailing and customer experiences to the next level. Mike Reyes, SVP Product Management, Sabre

Advanced experimentation is one of the key differentiators of Sabre’s solution, and we’re using it to determine which intelligent retail offers to create and present to individual consumers to maximize the probability of conversion. We let science help answer retailers’ age-old questions ‘what does the customer want’ and ‘what is its value to the customer’. It’s one of the things that sets our solution apart – and will help our airline partners achieve their retailing ambitions.

More complex offers and higher conversion bring the challenge of ensuring seamless order fulfillment at scale. Sabre’s retail travel marketplace is designed to ease this complexity. For airlines, greater workflow automation will improve efficiency by eliminating repetitive tasks and synchronizing orders as a master record.

Maintaining trip equilibrium, which means preserving offer and order integrity throughout the travel experience, is a strategic priority for Sabre. As the industry transition towards a retail-powered future accelerates, and more complex offers become the norm, we believe a focus on trip equilibrium will become increasingly important.

Sabre is also making things easier by providing an open test and learn capability (think of it as a ‘sandbox’) as an integral part of our solution. We’re putting airlines in control by giving them access to APIs in a test environment where they can experiment whenever they choose before applying them in a live environment – maximizing agility and accelerating speed to market.

Travelers will enjoy a streamlined experience, including greater control of their own experience through more self-service options, in addition to existing full-service helpdesk support. When travel plans change unexpectedly, travelers will be notified automatically, minimizing any inconvenience. Reaccommodation will be synched across all aspects of the trip, even at scale, with self-service capabilities available should the airline and/or traveler prefer.

Whether it’s sourcing the broadest choice of travel offers, applying intelligence to refine those down to exactly what each traveler is looking for, or delivering an easy experience for travelers and travel providers, Sabre is building the right technology toolkit for the job. We’ve worked closely with industry bodies and our airline partners to build a suite of products tailored to the needs of our customers in an open, retail-powered future.

Airspace closures: how Iran’s attacks have affected flight routes

Drone and missile attacks on israel mean that flights are being re-routed — here’s what you need to know and what to do if your journey is impacted.

Flights to several destinations, including Nepal, may face disruption

I ran’s “retaliatory” strike on Israel last weekend has triggered the greatest disruption to air travel since 9/11, according to one industry expert.

“Not since then have we had a situation with that many different air spaces closed down in that quick succession, and that creates chaos,” says Mark Zee, the founder of the airline operations association OPSGROUP.

Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan and Lebanon closed their airspace during the attacks on April 13, and while all technically reopened on April 14 — and remain so after Israel’s retaliatory strike on April 18 — the European Union Aviation Safety Agency recommends that airlines “exercise caution” and notes that “there continues to be an increased potential for miscalculation and/or misidentification at present over Tehran”.

Cancelled flights at Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv, Israel

Consequently flights eastwards from Europe have been facing disruption that could potentially get worse if the conflict escalates — especially as available routes are already significantly compromised by the closure of Ukrainian airspace since February 2022.

So if you’re flying to Asia or Australasia in the next few days or weeks, here’s what you need to know.

What is the problem.

Concerns about the safety of flying over a conflict zone are leading airlines to avoid Iranian airspace and seek alternative routes east. The options are to fly north of Iran, through the Stans (Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan), or south, via Egypt and the Red Sea. There is, though, a risk that in the event of further conflict between Iran and its allies and Israel, Houthi drone and missile attacks on Israeli targets would overfly Saudi Arabia and force the closure of that airspace too.

Which destinations are affected?

Many airlines, including easyJet, have suspended flights to Israel. Lufthansa has also cancelled departures to Tehran, Beirut and Amman. But the potential for disruption extends beyond the Middle East to many popular destinations east of the Arabian Sea. These include Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines, Australia and New Zealand.

• Travel insurance guide: everything you need to know

Which airlines are avoiding Iranian airspace?

Virgin Atlantic says it has “made the decision to temporarily avoid the airspace of Iraq, Iran and Israel, meaning some Virgin Atlantic passenger services between the UK and India will be adjusted. We will continue to monitor the situation and apologise for any inconvenience caused to customers by slightly longer flight times”.

Singapore Airlines is now routing through Central Asia, with the airline warning that “some flights may take slightly longer than usual,” and Malaysian Airlines flights from London — its sole European route — have diverted both to the north and the south of Iran over past days. Qantas’s nonstop route to Perth will now land to refuel at Singapore, and both Air India and Vistara are flying around Iran. Finnair and SAS have also re-routed some Asian departures. Emirates, Oman Air, Fly Dubai and flights from Wizz Air’s Abu Dhabi base are still overflying Iran.

Wizz Air flights from the Abu Dhabi base, however, are still flying over Iran.

BA is continuing to operate four times a week to Tel Aviv, with outbound flights stopping in Cyprus en route for a crew change. Its flight departed London on Monday as scheduled. The airline said it is closely monitoring the situation in the country. The Times understands BA was already avoiding Iranian airspace.

How long could I be delayed?

The duration of flights in both directions between Europe and Asia and Australasia has increased due to the extra distance involved in avoiding Iran. The shortest flight time from London to Singapore — avoiding Ukrainian airspace — is about 13.5 hours, but diverting south via the Arabian peninsula could push that to about 15 hours. Stops for refuelling can add further delays — Virgin’s VS354 from Heathrow to Mumbai was hit by a five-hour delay for refuelling in Istanbul last Saturday. But in most cases delays appear to be minimal.

Are all flights east affected?

Not necessarily. If you’re transiting through a Middle Eastern hub such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Doha your onward flights to Asia are unlikely to be affected by airspace restrictions over Iran, which lies to the north. But with so many other flights now flying via the Arabian peninsula or Central Asia, there’s a possibility that you may encounter minor delays as air traffic controllers cope with the congestion. Will that cause significant disruption? John Grant at the aviation analyst OAG doesn’t believe so. “It’s certainly going to make the space a bit busier but they can handle the volumes and hopefully this will only be a short-term issue.”

Will flight prices rise?

In the short term that’s unlikely, but, if conflict in the Middle East escalates, airlines will pass on the increased operating costs to passengers — and it’s not just a matter of the extra fuel burnt re-routing around Iran. Oil prices haven’t increased since the start of the Gaza war simply because production has not been affected, but if Israel targets Iranian infrastructure that could change.

What happens if I miss my connection?

If your flight originated in the UK or the EU, your airline is legally bound to offer assistance with accommodation, onward travel at the earliest opportunity — even if it’s with another airline — and, where appropriate, compensation for delays or denied boarding. For flights into the UK or EU, on airlines registered outside those jurisdictions, no such obligation applies, but in most cases the carriers will do their best to help. In some cases you’ll have to run to catch connections, and be aware that while you may make it on board, your luggage might not.

Can I cancel and get a refund?

In the absence of formal Foreign Office advice against travelling, normal booking conditions apply, so while you may cancel if you wish, you cannot expect a refund.

How will I know if my flight is affected?

Your airline will be in touch.
