• Language: English is the official and most spoken language, but French, Spanish, and Portuguese are among the other commonly used languages.

Grotto Bay Beach Resort

From the swim-up bar to “Prospero’s Cave,” where a spa is set inside a natural cave, Grotto’s Bay boasts the let-it-go-and-forget-about-the-cost ethos that makes for the best all-inclusive experiences. The only one of its kind on the island, the package, which requires a three-night stay or longer, costs $114 per person per day on top of your room rental. Kids between 3 and 16 cost an extra $84.

That includes three meals, non-motorized water sports such as paddleboats and snorkeling equipment, ferries and bus passes, tennis courts, and weekly rum parties. Oh, and all the booze your heart desires, if you’re the hard-partying sort—with the exception of a few rare top-shelf items. The only hidden fee here is an extra $12 daily per person per room. Suites are fairly streamlined and simply designed, and if you like a lot of privacy, you should request an extra-quiet room; walls here can be thin.

Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa

Thanks to its coral, white, and baby blue color scheme, this hotel has almost a Miami Art Deco feel. Guests rave about its cuisine, particularly that at Tamarisk , an open-air restaurant with stunning views where the menu might include grilled wahoo with mango salsa, garlic-and-coconut baked lobster, or roasted rack of kurobuta pork.

Though there’s no technical all-inclusive package here, a dinner meal plan can be added to your booking for $68 per person per night, including tax and gratuity. (Note: This is an adults-only hotel, which makes it that much more romantic and peaceful.)

Rosewood Tucker's Point

Posh, luxe, grand—all those words apply to this hotel , where grand four-poster beds, deep bathtubs, killer views, and gorgeous restaurants are the order of the day. At The Point, take in the knockout murals by Gerard Henderson, and tuck into one of a thousand bottles of wine the restaurant keeps in its cellar.

Packages available here include one that covers breakfast and dinner in the restaurants or in your room—which is extra-romantic, especially on a terrace, if you have one—and cost $150 daily for adults and $75 per day for kids. Drinks are extra. Pricey? Yes. But for food and wine snobs who love to chitchat with the sommelier about the terroir they love, it’s a find.

The Reefs Resort & Club

Honeymooners tend to rave about the romance package at this boutique resort featuring limestone cliffs, a sleek pink sand beach, and knockout views. Although not specifically an all-inclusive, the five-night deal includes daily breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner, a sultry meal for two on the beach, welcoming champagne and rum drinks, chocolate-covered strawberries, round-trip airport transfers, and an ocean view room in addition to taxes and gratuities.

So if you’re in the mood to just kick back, celebrate being in love, soak in your private hot tub (inquire on the phone!) or paddle around an infinity pool while enjoying breathtaking ocean views, this is the place. Then, on to the Caves, with their breathtaking sights of stalagmites and stalactites 90 feet below ground, followed by the Perfumery and Gardens where local flowers are made into tantalizing fragrances. A short distance away is the historical town of St. George's, with its quaint, winding lanes, shops and places of interest, such as St. Peter's Church (the oldest Anglican church in the Western Hemisphere), and the Stocks and Pillories.

You’ll fly into LF Wade International Airport (BDA). The airport, which began as a WWII airfield now has one terminal that accommodates almost a million people each year and supports aircraft or all sizes, including the 777s that land there regularly. It’s located on the eastern side of Bermuda on St. David’s Island.

Immigration & Customs

All US Citizens need to carry a passport and make sure you have your immigrations form with you when you return home. When arriving in Bermuda, you must complete a Customs Traveller Declaration (CTD) Form 98. Complete both sides of the form. Self-service kiosks are available to calculate any customs duty.

Getting to Your Hotel

Rental cars are not available in Bermuda, but getting around is easy to do. The most expensive way, but the easiest, is taking a taxi. You can book a taxi for an hour or two to tour the island and then back to your resort. Scooters are widely used by locals, so if you’re brave, rent one and zip around the island. Ferries and busses are also available, both being reliable and safe.

Avoid this dump at any cost , the staff rude dishonest! The food was horrible! You can’t eat when you want like being in elementary school . Nasty room towels dirty also can’t rest due to 🐓 cocka doo doo all night cats 🐈‍⬛ everywhere ! Horrible Place !

Beautiful Resort!!

This was our second stay at Grotto Bay Beach Resort and we are already looking forward to going back. The location is absolutely picturesque, very convenient to the airport & bus transportation and easily walkable to local attractions (Bailey’s Ice Cream. Swizzle Inn, and The Crystal Caves). The resort staff was amazing! Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. Throughout each day various employees (restaurant staff, grounds crew, pool staff and housekeeping) took time to talk with us and ask about our experience at the resort. So welcoming and kind! The Cathedral Cave is incredible!! Cold water, but a once in a lifetime experience. The rum swizzle reception with the manager was lovely and included a non-alcoholic option (much appreciated). Every meal was delicious and the restaurant staff was wonderful. Great food, great service, great people!! They truly made us feel welcome and appreciated at every meal.

Would be good except for continual construction

Arrived to find construction going on; continuous truck digging out ledge near the beach. Sit on my balcony and hear and see it, sit on the beach hear it. SO disappointing. The veiews are spectacular , the rooms dated but the location would more than make up for it if it wasnt for the continual construction. Dissapointing suggest go somewhere else or check on when renovations are going to be finished.

Friendly Paradise

A friend and I recently went to Bermuda to participate in the Bermuda Triple Challenge OCR event and stayed at this beautiful resort. Our room was comfortable and the property is beautiful! We took advantage of the available watersports and went paddleboarding, which was fantastic. We both had spa treatments at the unique underground spa and we were both very happy with the experience. We used the hot tub, which was also lovely. We ate one lunch and two dinners on the property and they were all delicious. The Swizzle Inn is also a short walk away which offers great food and drinks, as well. Very much worth mentioning is how helpful and friendly the staff is. From the front desk, to the restaurant, to the Dive Shop - everyone seemed determined for us to have a great time. I would say that about everyone I met in Bermuda - such a warm and welcoming place to visit. And if you do, I highly recommend the Grotto Bay Beach Resort & Spa!

Go to the beautiful island of Bermuda and stay at Grotto Bay, I'm sure you won't regret it.

Our stay in January was for a special birthday so we were slightly concerned when some time after we had booked, we were notified by British Airways that there was going to be construction work during our stay. We didn't need to worry, the disruption was minimal and we were out of the resort exploring the beautiful island of Bermuda during the day so we weren't troubled by any noise. I think the construction is probably over now and I am sure that it will have created some fantastic new bar/dining spaces for future guests to enjoy. Some reviews have mentioned unfriendly staff, but we didn't experience that at all - quite the opposite in fact! I want to mention Veronica, Danny, Jimmy, Dwayne and 'Liverpool Charlie' who took great care of us during our stay - I just wish I could still remember the names of all the other staff because everyone we met was lovely to us. I highly recommend the 'All Inclusive' package because it represents really good value and includes bus/ferry passes for the duration of the stay which we made full use of. The local transport is a brilliant way to see this small island and we recommend trying all the different bus routes so that you see both coasts. We were never unhappy with the food which was always well presented and the menu had options to suit most tastes. We felt that the 'specials of the day' were always a good option as they tended to offer more interesting dishes. We are well-travelled and have stayed in some very expensive, upmarket hotels and whilst this isn't as lavishly appointed as the highest end accommodations, our ocean view room was perfectly comfortable, had everything we needed and was always clean. As fairly sociable people, the only slight downside for us was that we went in January to coincide with a birthday and everywhere was incredibly quiet - completely deserted in some places! Many establishments use the off season to close for refurbishment, but despite this, we still found something new to visit every day. The weather was also a bit mixed, but never cold (not by British standards!) Of course, the hotel can't be blamed for the weather or the fact that it was off season and they did their best to provide entertainment and events in the evenings. On a positive note, it meant that we never had to endure crowds or queues and when we visited the nearby Crystal caves, we had our own private guide on a tour that in peak season has at least 50 people in every group! Similarly, the hotel pool and jacuzzi often only had us in them - I expect it's very different in the summer season. Don't be put off by the proximity to the airport, it's a relatively quiet airport and it is a positive advantage to have a short taxi trip to and from the resort, especially when the international flight is a long one. In summary, go to the beautiful island of Bermuda and stay at Grotto Bay, I'm sure you won't regret it.

A New Way to Fly to Abaco in The Bahamas 

United Is Extending Its Bermuda Schedule for the Summer

United Airlines is expanding its service to Bermuda this summer season, Caribbean Journal has learned. 

The carrier’s seasonal service between Newark Liberty International Airport and Bermuda is being extended this summer. 

United had initially planned to sunset the service in early September; instead, the airline will be extending flights through Oct. 26, 2024. 

That’s another boost for the island’s all-important summer season, and a good sign of increased demand for the destination. 

This month, JetBlue relaunched its daily flight out of New York’s JFK Airport. 

“Early booking data is showing a further increase in travel to the island this year, and we look forward to reaching new markets, as well as continuing to welcome back our Bermuda loyalists,” said Jamari Douglas, VP of Marketing for the Bermuda Tourism Authority.
