The 2022 BWF World Tour Finals was the season-ending tournament of the 2022 BWF World Tour. The tournament took place at the Nimibutr Arena in Bangkok, Thailand from 7 to 11 December 2022. It had a total prize of $1,500,000, the biggest among all 2022 BWF World Tour events.
The top eight players and pairs in each category in the BWF World Tour Rankings were invited to compete, with a maximum of two players or pairs per Member Association being eligible. Reigning world champions received invitations as automatic qualifiers.

Badminton Asia Championships 2024: Jonatan Christie and Chen Yu Fei march into men's and women's finals
Indonesian ace Jonatan Christie marched into the men’s singles final at the 2024 Badminton Asia Championships in Ningbo, People's Republic of China after beating home favourite Shi Yuqi 18-21, 21-19, 21-12 on Saturday (13 April).
Christie reached his second career final at the continental championships and will be looking to upgrade the silver he won in Manila 2022 to gold. The third-seeded shuttler is in hot form after winning his maiden World Tour Super 1000 title at the All England Open last month.
The day before, the badminton star beat former champion Lee Zii Jia of Malaysia in a repeat of the 2022 final to set up a mouth-watering battle against men’s top seed Shi.
Shi made a strong start to the contest that lasted 71 minutes, taking the first game 21-18 to put his Indonesian challenger on the back foot. However, Christie levelled the scores in a tightly contested second game.
With his tail up, Christie delivered the goods in the third with a comprehensive 21-12 win to book his place for the final.
Earlier in the day, the women’s finalists were confirmed for an all-Chinese affair after Wang Zhi Yi and reigning Olympic champion Chen Yu Fei won their respective semi-finals.
Wang overcame compatriot He Bing Jiao 21-19, 21-17 for a date against number-seed Chen, who had the better of Han Yue , also from China, in straight games.
The Asian Championships is one of the last major events to award Olympic qualification ranking points. With the window for ranking points closing at the end of April, performances in the continental championships can make or break players' hopes of qualifying for Paris 2024 .
As National Olympic Committees have the exclusive authority for the representation of their respective teams at the Olympic Games, athletes' participation at Paris 2024 depends on their NOC selecting them to represent their delegation.
All final matches are scheduled for Sunday (14 April).

The 2022 BWF World Tour Finals (officially known as the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals 2022 for sponsorship reasons) was the final tournament of the 2022 BWF World Tour.It was scheduled to be held from 14 to 18 December 2022 in Guangzhou, China but was later moved to Bangkok, Thailand, and held a week earlier - from 7 to 11 December 2022 - due to the COVID-19 pandemic in China.
