What They Say about Us!

Patricia herriot, usa.

From the moment I stepped aboard the ship, I was treated so very well. The staff took the time to get to know the names of the passengers and greeted each of us by name. The rooms were cleaned often, the excursions were so interesting and fun, the guides were knowledgeable and made each excursion/activity an absolute blast and the food was fantastic! I highly recommend boarding the Delfín III for your trip of a lifetime!

Aria Amazon Deals

Wooden local boats

The 147-foot Aria Amazon cruise ship is a masterpiece of refined style and provides eco-friendly luxury cruises from Iquitos. Designed by innovative Peruvian architect Jordi Puig, the floating boutique hotel was custom-built to explore the Amazon.

Life Aboard The Aria Amazon Cruise Ship

The Aria Amazon features 16 oversized suites with floor-to-ceiling windows and California-King-sized beds and welcomes 32 passengers into its upscale interiors. The fully air-conditioned ship has a light, airy feel, thanks to ample natural light, a neutral color palette, and rich hardwoods. The Aria Amazon is also filled with amenities and social spaces.

Picture yourself sipping a pisco sour on the shaded outdoor lounge or gazing up at the stars from the observation deck. Watch the river from the outdoor Jacuzzi with a local craft beer, treat yourself to a soothing treatment in the onboard massage room, or work up a sweat in the exercise room. Whatever you do while aboard the Aria Amazon, 27 crew members, including a health and safety officer, work to meet your every need.

Excursions From Your Aria Amazon Cruise

While you aren’t being pampered aboard the riverboat, you will be discovering the Amazon River and the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve on a series of exhilarating excursions. Choose between four-, five- and eight-day itineraries, each of which changes to make the most of the wet and dry seasons. You will start your excursions by heading to the lower deck and boarding one of four auxiliary boats. These aluminum skiffs are outfitted with low-emission engines and ergonomic seats. The maximum group size for excursions is eight passengers, and an English-speaking naturalist guide will lead each small group.

Enjoy a picnic breakfast in the jungle while listening to the birds wake for the day. Then, go fishing in the black waters of the Pacaya River. Swim, canoe and kayak in the Clavero River and watch for pink dolphins in the Ucayali River. Jungle walks, both during the day and after dark, are opportunities to meet the local wildlife. You may also be able to visit the Manatee Rescue Center. For many guests, other highlights include fishing for piranhas and visiting local communities. During a visit to the Bellavista Nanay morning market along the Nanay River, sampling local snacks, such as “Suri,” made from Amazonian caterpillars, is a must.

Culinary Experiences Aboard The Aria Amazon

Award-winning consulting chef, Pedro Miguel Schiaffino is redefining what cruise cuisine should be. As one of Peru’s most renowned chefs, Schiaffino started by working with anthropologists and environmental scientists to understand the local flavors and culinary traditions of the Amazon. Chef Schiaffino created a menu of rainforest-to-table gastronomy using 70% locally sourced ingredients and focused on sustainable produce.

Taking things a step further, Schiaffino elevated Peruvian cuisine into a multi-sensory experience with dishes such as scallops with wild almonds and umari fruit, plantain and yucca gnocchi, and hearts of palm soufflé. An all-inclusive cruise, the Aria Amazon is a luxury retreat in the rainforest. And, with two sets of interconnecting rooms, everyone from families and groups of friends can join in on the fun.

Itineraries & Prices

All itineraries are subject to change due to seasonal weather conditions (and resultant variations in river and tributary water levels) affecting accessibility to locations. Thus navigation routes, times and excursions may need to be modified at the cruise captain’s or your guide's discretion.

Experience the world as it was at the very beginning of time, when wildlife was rich and abundant, when trees grew tall and flowers bloomed everywhere. During your luxurious Amazon River cruise aboard the 32-guest Aria Amazon , explore winding jungle creeks by motorized skiff and stop at remote villages to search for local crafts. Journey along three powerful Amazon tributaries: the Marañón, Ucayali and Pacaya Rivers as well as several hidden black water lakes in both high-water and low-water seasons. In this glorious environment, parrots and macaws perch in trees, fuzzy howler monkeys leap from branch to branch and prehistoric-looking caiman swim by. Rare pink dolphins arc through the water, giant Victoria Regia water lilies abound and you won’t be able to help but practice your photography skills.

Be aware that two main seasons influence the Peruvian Amazon River: a high-water season (November through May) and a low-water season (June through October). Traveling to Peru in either season offers rich rewards, fabulous sites and amazing opportunities to view plant and animal life, but note that only high-water routes cruise along the Amazon River. The Aria Amazon sails year-round and every voyage is uniquely appealing, based on the changing seasons. During the high-water season the river and estuaries grow, allowing launch boats to venture deeper into the flooded forest. During the low-water season the river recedes and beautiful sandy river beaches form.

Cruise in comfort aboard the Aria Amazon , a luxury Amazon riverboat with chic styling and plenty of floor-to-ceiling windows to ensure none of the wildlife is missed. This vessel is an AdventureSmith favorite for private  charter cruises  due to her classy feel and size.

The Aria Amazon River cruise is offered as either an 8-day, 5-day or 4-day cruise, departing Fridays and Mondays, to provide the Amazon experience that is best for you. Note that itineraries are subject to changes to accommodate the variable water levels for the different seasons.

Read on for details about this trip, or learn more about AdventureSmith’s Amazon cruises and Amazon trips .
