Virtual campus tours to be offered alongside in-person tours

After COVID-19 put a halt to in person tours on campus, Emily Hervol, assistant director of admissions, said Kent State’s admissions office wanted to offer a different way prospective students and their families could visit campus, so they created a virtual tour option.  

While students and parents can sign up for the 3-D campus tour already offered on Kent State’s website , the virtual tours offered through Kent State’s admission office will be formatted differently. Each prospective student and family will have their own Microsoft Teams account where they are paired with a tour guide for a personalized tour around campus without having to be there in person.   

“We try to pair them [students and tour guides] up by major, if not major then by hometown, then by interests,” Hervol said. 

The tours will all be one-on-ones to give a personalized experience to the student and family, which allows the personalization and introductions to go beyond your name and major, Hervol said. 

“We know it’s not the same, but we want students to have a personalized, positive experience,” Hervol said. “We’re coming up with new ideas every day to enhance the experience.”   

The virtual tours launch on Monday, this story is continuing.

Kent State University and Buy360Tour Announce 3D Digital Campus Tour Set to Transform College Shopping Experience

STOW, Ohio , Dec. 2, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Buy360Tour is transforming the college shopping experience by creating a 3D virtual tour of Kent State University .
